You are Gertrude Pool, Sophomore Class President and new commander of Lafayette Girls Academy’s revived Tankery Team.

Once you freshen up inside Lisa’s dorm, you get yourself dressed as Lisa prepares breakfast. You look over at her. “Lisa. You look terrible.”

Lisa nods, slowly eating her non-specific brand of cereal. Her normally neat black hair is frazzled every which away, her eyes look bloodshot as if they’re struggling to stay open, and she simply stares off into space. In her arms is Mr. Chuckles the Bandaged Bear.

You ask her, “You have a nightmare or something?”

“Well,” says Lisa. “Let’s just say I don’t want to talk about it.”

You tilt your head, a bit concerned. “You sure?”

“I’m sure.” She eats up another gulp of cereal. “But you slept well at least, right?”

You nod. “Oh I slept well, Nancy. Again, thanks for letting me crash at your place. Hopefully I don’t have any bugs slinking around in my hair.”

Lisa says, “Oh, they’re just as afraid of you as you are of them, Boss. Just make sure you don’t sleep with your mouth open.”

You narrow your eyes, looking at her like she grew a second head. “That good to know, Lisa.”

Once you’re both dressed and you’ve got breakfast in your stomachs, it’s time to head to school. You leave Lisa’s dorm and meet Nancy, Kitten, and Ramirez. All three look pretty damn chipper compared to Lisa.

“Morning, President!” says Nancy. “Sleep well?”

You nod. “Of course. I have Lisa to thank for that.”

Kitten says, “Must’ve been messier than a raccoon’s den in there.”

Lisa rolls her eyes. “Haha. Haha. Very funny. Let’s just get to school.” She rubs her eyes a bit, groaning and leaving you in the dust. You shrug, then all of you go after her.

Fret about the play.
Did we advertise enough? Do we still need flyers? Tickets? A poster? A bouquet to throw at the main cast once the play is over?

Heh. Here's a chance to tie up some plot threads.
For flyers and posters, we could visit the Computer Club.
For said bouquet, visit the Gardening Club.

If it's all clear otherwise, bring the German book for the History Club to decipher.
>>

I support these.

“So girls, today’s the play. You guys coming along?”

Nancy nods. “Oh of course!”

Lisa says, “Do I have to?”

“Oh come on, Lisa. It’s Red Dawn.”

“But it’s a MUSICAL,” says Lisa. “It’s no Les Miserables I can tell you that. Besides, did you even advertise it enough, who knows how many people are going to come anyway?”

You open your mouth, trying to say something. Then you realize, “Well… I suppose a little more advertising uh… Ramirez.” Ramirez slides in next to you. “Would you kindly get the morning announcements people to give a quick mention to the play today?” Ramirez nods then turns to run ahead, but you quickly grab her by the collar. “Whoa!” you say. “I don’t mean now.

Nancy nods. “You could also get a Bouquet for the cast. It’ll be lovely!”

“Of course,” you say. “Think you can drop by the Gardening Club if they have any?”

“I’ll see what I can do!” says Nancy.

You clap your hands together. “Excellent! This play will definitely be something I tell you!”

You arrive at the campus.

You say goodbye to your staff then proceed to read your book at a little place called the LIBRARY.

Still, damn quirky humor this author has.

You slap the book shut then put it back in your backpack. Might be worth it to get to class-

“Gertrude.” Fairless calls you over from the Library entrance. “Would you mind helping me with something?”

“What do you need?”

Fairless motions you over. “Fredendall is having me move some stuff around. You know the recall election, right?”

You nod. “Don’t remind me.”

“She’s having me move some sound equipment and some tables over to the Auditorium building. Apparently she wants to set up some big debate between you and the opposing candidate at some indeterminate time. Wants the stuff there in advance.”

“Really,” You cross your arms. “Isn’t that Theatre Tech’s job?”

“They’re busy with the play.”

You ask her, “Why not get your staff to help you?”

Fairless says, “I did. Let’s just say that I’d have a better chance of surviving if I have you help me instead of those clumsy idiots.”

You shrug. “Alright.”

The two of you walk out of the Library then over to the huge cart where just about everything is packed into a giant wooden crate labeled, “DEBATE STUFF – DO NOT TOUCH”. Convenient.

You and Fairless get on one side of the cart, then start pushing- holy hell this shit is heavy.

“So, Fairless. Think you might come to the play later today?”

Fairless says, “I would. But Fredendall’s having me do some more stuff for her.”

You blink. “She can’t possibly have that much stuff to give you.”

“Have you seen her homework?” she says. You’re taken aback a bit. Fairless shrugs. “Relax. She pays me to do her homework. Quite well in fact. Sometimes I like to intentionally get questions wrong just to make her look bad.”

You nod slowly. “Ah. I see.”

“But how are you doing, Gertrude? Anything good happening with you lately?”

You shrug. “Beyond winning our first match with Adams, a practice match with Saunders in a couple of days. Then week after that our match with Christie. I think things are going swimmingly.”

“Of course.”

The both of you wheel the cart up to the Auditorium storage room. Fairless walks up to the door, struggling a bit. She explains that sometimes the door gets stuck. She opens it up after a minute of difficulty, then you push it in.

You wheel it right into the back. It’s dark as the night, but you can clearly make out some silhouettes of old props, some old costumes, and other long forgotten equipment. Fairless walks in beside you, looking around.

Then the door shuts.

Fairless looks back. “Ah. Forgot to hit the doorstop.” She walks up to the door and jiggles the knob.

She jiggles the knob again, a bit harder this time. She stops. “Okay, don’t panic, the door is stuck.”

You check your cellphone. No bars. What kind of wi-fi system is this? You say, “Alright, I don’t have any bars on my cell, Bernadette. Maybe we can-“

Fairless kicks the door out, opening the way.

“… or you could kick the door down. That’s great.”

Fairless says, “That’s why I said don’t panic.” The both of you walk out, looking back at the door though…

You say, “What about the storage? What if someone steals from there?”

“Who’s going to steal from Theatre Storage?”

“Okay, that’s a stretch, but still.”

Fairless shrugs. “I’ll have a Hall Monitor guard it until Naval Studies Engineers arrive.” She checks the time. “Right. We should get to class-“

“Hey, Fairless.” The Senior staff arrives, and are immediately gobsmacked at the broken door. Claire whistles. “You break that door down?”

“Hey, Claire. Henrietta, Andrea. It’s nice to see you three.”

You remain quiet as Fairless says, “Ah, that’s nice of you girls. But we’ve pretty much got everything squared away for now.”

Henrietta asks, “Are you sure? We could totally help fix that door.”

Andrea says, “You remember the last time you tried to fix a door?”

“Okay, so it might’ve fallen on Fairless, but she wasn’t seriously injured.”

Fairless sighs then says, “Anyway. We all oughta head to class.”

You all check the time. It’s about halfway through math by now. Yikes. You say goodbye to Fairless and company then run off to your math class. You arrive just at the tail end, excusing your tardiness. Unfortunately, you’re too late to take any meaningful notes, but you do hear there is going to be a major test on the unit on Monday. Might be worth studying for.

For English, you take notes as well, even participating in the reading of the class’s in-class reading. Most people treat that as nap time. You however are finding yourself in a better work ethic for some reason. Probably all that studying.

Chemistry as well goes by relatively smoothly. Nothing of importance to consider.

Lisa looks at you. “You mean you’re not?”

“So, what are you girls expecting out of the play?”

Lisa shakes her head. “Nothing. At most, maybe a few laughs at how bad it is.”

You shrug. “Well, with Red Dawn: The Musical, it’s not like I could really make it good.”

Nancy nods. “I suppose the script could use a massive rework if it ever would work as a serious musical.”

“Actually, another thing,” you say. “Apparently there’s some debate coming up?”

Nancy nods. “Oh yes. I’d definitely expect a debate between you and the opposing candidate. If you’re wondering, I wouldn’t worry. Just be yourself out there. People seem to love you for that.”

Lisa says, “Well, considering how close it was last year I’m not sure if that’s the case.”

You sigh. “There’s so much stuff to worry about.”

Lisa says, “Actually, Boss. I’ve been thinking. In regards to Tankery.” Your ears prick up. Tankery. “We’ve already got like eleven crews. And you really do have some stuff to these days. Why not assign some Officers?”

You ask, “Officers?”

“I don’t know. People you can trust. Hell, we can help you with Tankery as much as we can but we’ve got to handle class affairs just like you. Might help to assign some people to that end.”

You nod. “I’ll think on it.”

> Note: OFFICERS are now unlocked. As your team expands, the chain of command can be simplified by promoting certain tank commanders to OFFICER status. Doing so will cost 20 CP unless the commander is from an Elite Crew. You can also assign a Commander a Command Perk.

I actually haven't caught myself up on Sherbrooke. I suppose if you're hunting down on enemy Aces on enemy teams, that's entirely possible. I'll make it work within the usual Study a Tankery Team Command.

Otherwise, I'll figure something else.

If it comes up again, we should get a Grant tank or Chassis.

I know you guys don't like the grant for it's 75mm but we can convert it into a Ram tank which has a 6 pounder.

You say, “Well, honestly. I don’t really know much about anime in general. I mean, I watch Miyazaki films with Kitten every once in a while. Actually, really good anime I watched with her, Baccano. It’s like a Tarantino film but, anime.”

Bradbury nods. “I’ve seen it. I think it’s quite good. I like the anachronic order of the storytelling. Some writers try to do that but it often falls flat. It’s a lot harder to pull off and when it is, boy the payoff can be great.”

Hanna nods. “I suppose that’s true. I watch some anime occasionally, but boy. Anime Club is really something else.”

You shrug. You’ll probably get to that in a bit.

With that, gym class is over. After getting a good shower out of the way, you head to History class. There, the history professor lectures more and you take notes attentively. Keegan and Smith say hello to you politely, and say they will be attending the play, if only to laugh at how bad it’s going to be.

Theatre again, nothing really happens. The Professor though congratulates you on directing the play, and Roberta for not fucking things up like she usually does. You remember last year. Wasn’t fun.

Finally, French. You’re starting to pick up on some of the finer details of pronunciation and other subtleties (such as the fact that s is almost never pronounced at the end of words. Took you forever to figure that out.)

With that, school’s over.

“Hey, girls… nice flowers, Nancy!”

Nancy, Lisa, and Ramirez are by the campus entrance. Nancy has put in white and pink roses with all kinds of lively greenery in-between. “Courtesy of the Gardening Club! Only cost a tenner too.”

You nod. “Neato.” You get a text from Octavia. It says that the play starts at 7 O’Clock sharp. You check the time. 3 O’Clock. You got some time to do some stuff.

You also get another text from Octavia, which simply reads, “Also, please help Kitten grow some testicles or something. She’s quieter than a nun having sex in a convent.”

… Well that’s honest of her. You look around, no sign of Kitten. She’s probably back at her dorm.

Ramirez nods. “All I had to do was mention your name. Freshmen will probably arrive in droves just for the chance of seeing you.”

Once you arrive back at the dorms, you decide to give Kitten a look. You knock on the door. “Kitten! Today’s the day!”

You open up Kitten’s door and walk in. “Kitten? It’s your best good friend, Trudy.” You walk on in along with your staff. Kitten is curled up in her blankets, simply staring at the wall. You look at her, concerned. “Kitten? Are you okay?”

Kitten says, “I can’t do it.”

“You can’t do what?” asks Lisa.

“The play. I mean- All those people, watching me…” says Kitten. “And…” She buries her face into her 75mm AP round plushie. “It’s Middle School all over again. Please don’t make me go, Trudy.”

You sigh. “Kitten, if you were having second thoughts, you should’ve told me.” You sit down next to her.

“Yeah, sorry,” says Kitten.

Your staff stands there, a bit awkwardly. Nancy hands the bouquet over to Ramirez then says, “I’ll cook us some dinner.”

Kitten says, “Please don’t make me go, Trudy.”

Kitten says, “But- I mean. All those people are going to see and think-“

“But-“

“Now, if you make a mistake up there, at least you had the balls to get up there, Kitten. They’ll respect you for that, I assure you.” You wrap your arm around her and bring her closer to you. “Kitten, just get up there, and act. That’s all that’s needed from you. What do you say?”

Kitten is quiet for a few seconds. After that little pause, she finally says, “Okay. I’ll do it.”

Am I wrong to think that though. I thought one of the reasons we hang out with Kittain with others (besides the obvious shippers) is to have her open up to others, we gotten her to open up to our crew somewhat and the sewing club and maybe Octavia and the Tech crew.

and that's it....considering two months that is good I'm assuming comparing that when she was a shut in.

When that anon made that suggestion, it was like regression, that Kittain was depending on Trudy once more on things she doesn't want to do.

I don't know maybe I'm wrong, maybe even a little harsh, but I do by the end of this I want to have Kittain develop more then just the Shut in/Trude /u/ boat mate.

You savor each and every bite of Nancy’s godlike cooking, the way it just tingles on your tongue in all the right ways. But enough descriptive thought on food, this isn’t Ratatouille. You’ve got a play to attend to. Once you finish up, you decide it’s time to head out to the play.

You walk along the street. You say to Kitten, “Now don’t you worry Kitten, I’ll be right there for you if you need me.”

Kitten nods. “I know you will.”

You smile, pinching her cheek a bit.

You arrive back at the campus in good time. There’s already a good number of students apparently going to the Auditorium in advance. You check the time. 5:30. Not bad. You got some time.

You head on past the students and find Octavia on the stage, quickly and tersely directing Theatre Tech students on last minute adjustments. Octavia motions you and Kitten up as soon as she sees you. “Okay, here’s what’s going to go down.”

“First,” she says. “You’re going to do a short speech, about 30 seconds but no more than 2 minutes. Then the play will go on. You can either view and help direct from the back or just sit in the seats and watch it yourself, I don’t particularly care. We’ll have a ten minute intermission after Act 2 then it’s right back to the play, and finally once everything’s all said and done, main cast will take their bows, then minor characters, then theatre crew will come out, speeches will be handed out, you decide who gets the bouquet, and maybe a final speech or so. Follow me?”

You nod slowly. “Yeah, sure.”

Alright before we did anything can I make a suggestion please.

Maybe we can split the Bouquet, one for Kittain if she does well the other for Octavia since she had to pull this together without us for most of the time.

Is this reasonable. I know a lot of you want to give Kittain the Bouquet which is fine (if she does well) but I think giving Octavia who was here since the beginning to try and make this successful is only fair.

I don't really want to give it to Kitten. Everyone thinks their dating so they'll see it as straight up favouritism. I don't know much about theatre but I assume it's traditional to give it to an actor? If so then O'Hara would get my vote, she seemed to impress everyone at the auditions.
If it doesn't really matter then Octavia's getting it for sure. But we actually need to see how everything works out before we decide, eh?
>>
>>30220851
If she has time, maybe but I want to see if Ramirez will laugh at the play.

If we can make a stone cold bitch (with all the good will and respect I can muster, I like her character) if we can break through her penetrable wall of silence to hear her laugh, then we know the play is a successes

I thought this compromise was reasonable in case such a situation happen

This is actually a really good time to advertise for Tankery. Damn it, you’re still in your school uniform though, maybe you can-

“Here you go,” says Ramirez as she presents you a Tankery uniform.

You look down at it, intensely confused. “Oh, thanks Ramirez. How did you-”

Ramirez says, “I figured you’d need it.”

Hm. Not bad. You quickly take the uniform then dress out in the Dressing Room, where the Poles, the Aviation Studies Club, Roberta Crane, and even O’Hara and O’Brian are quickly getting changed out. You managed to grab a program on your way in as well.

The cast consists of:

Jen Eckert: Carol Smith
May Eckert: Megan O’Hara
Roberta Morris: Lynette O’Brian
Erica Mason: Roberta Crane
Toni Mason: Janet Kos
Colonel Tanner: Jenny Curtiss
Colonel Bella: Marina Polikarpov
Various Russian Solders: Megan Enfield, Natalya Springfield, Katya Seversky, Lidya Douglas
Various Americans: Augusta Jelen, Teresa Czeresniak, Grazyna Saakaszwili

Not bad. Once you’re finished, you head up to the front entrance and begin shaking hands, greeting people. All of your crews arrive for the play. The Aces come to shake your hand, the Girl Scouts actually set up a booth to sell cookies (they claim that Octavia permitted it), the Freshmen are in a hurry to get their instruments together with the Folk Music Club who’ve come to help, the Merchant team have arrived along with the Film Club with some high end cameras to record everything, the History Club arrive discussing the finer points of Cold War brinkmanship, you can even see Luciano and her girls at best making an appearance.

Boy, that was a mouthful.

Principal Tennyson comes up to you, cane in hand and looking chipper. “Hey, Gertrude. Long time no see.”

Well, I don't think it looks like more or less favoritism than if people thought they were regular friends, nor do I think it being seen as favoritism is a bad thing - as far as I remember, Trude didn't decide on Kitten's getting a role in the play, and why WOULDN'T she be overjoyed that her best friend (or more for the students who think that) did well in the play, and give her a bouquet? It's not like she wouldn't be happy for and proud of the others, nor would they expect her to be as happy that random students she's only worked with a little for the play as she is for Kitten.

I do agree Octavia should get one too though.

You offer your hand, and he takes it and shakes it vigorously. “It’s really nice to see you, Principal Tennyson. Glad you could make it.”

Tennyson nods. “Right. Anyway, I’m off to enjoy a really bad play from what I hear.”

“Oh, it’s so bad you’ll be laughing in pity,” you say. With that, Tennyson walks inside the auditorium. You’re tapped on the shoulder by one of the tech kids who you identified as Stephenie Sykes.

“It’s almost time,” she says. You nod and head in with her. You head backstage and find tech students running quietly from place to place with props, setpieces, and other equipment. Barkas quickly enlists you to move a huge setpiece building into place. This building is several things, a generic building, the high school in the beginning, and a store. Theatre Arts is nothing if not a recycler.

After that, Sykes quickly enlists you to move some of the prop guns and the real guns. The props are only labeled with a small white tape barely noticeable on the magazine. The real ones are not. Despite that, you’re careful with all kinds of guns. You don’t need to be Bruce Lee’s son today.

Once that’s done, it’s about a minute to the play. Octavia quickly calls you over. “Ready?”

You nod. “Sure. How are the actors?” you ask.

“Probably doing that energy thing, then again only one of them is an actual actor and she’s a complete douchenozzle,” says Octavia. “Right. Just go out there, say a couple of things, thank them for coming, maybe throw out a Tankery advertisement if you’re feeling daring.” She checks her watch, then proceeds to gently push you out of the curtains onto the stage.

You’re immediately hit by two things. One: the gaze of the immense crowd in the seats of the auditorium. Two: The powerful spotlights on the balcony way in the back. Ain’t that something.

You stand up straight and say…?

You wave, grinning. “Good evening, everyone! I’d like to thank you all for coming out to support the Theatre Arts Department. My name is Gertrude Pool, and I’d like to welcome you all to this year’s LGA production of Red Dawn: The Musical! Now, I do ask that you turn off and silence your cellphones and other electronic devices and some such. Other than that, we can get this show on the road. I hope you all enjoy the show!” You bow, and the crowd applauses you step off to the side back behind the curtain.

Octavia says, “Not bad.”

You stand off to the side, crossing your arms. Here it comes. Tara strums her banjo, and the curtains unfold to the little High School in Washington state.

Jen and May the Eckert sisters walk on stage with different school uniforms specially crafted by the Sewing Club. They start singing the Red Dawn song to the tune of a banjo and a fiddle.

Oh look at the sunrise, it comes!
Oh look at the sunrise, it’s here!
Now let us go part and head on!
To another Red Dawn!

After that, the rest of the instruments start picking up tempo as more actors start coming on stage to sing and look like they’re hanging out.

The crowd bursts into another uproarious laughter at one of May’s jokes about Jen. Jen simply rolls her eyes at that. They continue discussing more irrelevant things which the audience finds hilarious until:

“Say, Jen. I hear the Ruskies are planning on invasion of the United States.”

Jen scoffs. “Oh come on, May. What’s Ivan going to do? Cross the ocean and drop paratroopers on top of our heads? That’s ridiculous!”

At that, the Rifle Team and two of the Aviation Studies Club in Russian Soldier garb are dropped down, wielding AK-47s, Mosin-Nagants, a flamethrower, and an RPG. The audience were notified at the entrance that eye and ear protection were available under their seats, and they quickly put them on for the scene.

What ensues is an intense and dire chase sequence around the stage capped off by the Folk Music Club’s rendition of “Foggy Mountain Breakdown”.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qO8yUFAIGRw

They run all over the place like a bunch of goons, firing blanks every whichaway, throwing short jets of flame into the air, and even firing an RPG into the building, setting it on fire. You’re pretty sure that was unscripted but considering Octavia’s neutral reaction to it, you’re sure that they have it under control. You try to suppress some laughter at it.

After a few minutes which leaves the audience in stitches, the actors retreat into the curtains, and the Russian soldiers plant a flag at the center of the stage, proclaiming the school to be Soviet Russia’s.

The audience applauses right there as the curtain closes on the scene. The Tech kids quickly extinguish the flames from the building.

You pat Kitten on the back as she quickly breathes in and outwards for the next scene. Megan Enfield, Natalya Springfield, Katya Seversky, and Lidya Douglas quietly giggle to themselves, Katya especially since she got to handle the RPG. Lidya too was scarily enthusiastic about the flamethrower as well.

You have to remind yourself to ask where the Rifle Team got those.

The curtains open again as the survivors from the High School attack gather around their camp. In a change from the original movie, the Mason sisters are actually there from the start. Roberta has a good time acting the ham as she regales the cast of the atrocities of the Russians.

“… and you know what else they do? They eat babies!” says she.

This of course sparks off the song, They Eat Babies.

Look out, lookout, here comes Ivan!
Look out, look out, he’s marching in quickstep!
Watch out, watch out, he’s kicking a Church in!
And worst of all! They eat Babies!

Your sides. Please.

The Wolverines are finally getting their start as they pile together some weapons and ammunition from their first raid. It was quite loud too. Good thing you have hearing protection.

Jen says, “And don’t worry girl! We’ll drive Ivan back into the sea! Because you know who we are!?”

Wolverines!

Jen sings the song of the Wolverines.

A Wolverine is tough, a Wolverine is fierce,
Their claws are strong, their fangs are razor sharp,
And where the Wolverines live, they are the king!
So girls, cheer up, heads high!
Because we’re the Wolverines!

The girls cheer as the curtain closes. The crowd applauses.

Octavia announces over the intercom. “We will be taking a short ten minute intermission.”

“Anything I can do to help?” you ask Octavia.

Octavia says, “Not right now. But I suppose if you could help mount the machine gun onto the T-34 that’d be great.”

… Where are the Rifle Team getting these weapons.

Whatever, you run over to where the Theatre Tech kids and the Rifle team are mounting the DP light machine gun into the T-34’s AA mount. You help steady the gun as it’s lowered in and then secured. Natalya then loads a drum mag full of blanks and cocks the gun. Megan Enfield, now in Soviet Tanker dress, hops into hatch and mans the gun with proper trigger discipline while Natalya hops into the driver’s seat.

Thus, the play continues. The curtains open to see Colonel Tanner, lying in a mess of a silk parachute. Toni Mason discovers her and the two are immediately at a stand off.

Toni asks the Colonel, “What’s the Capital of Illinois?”

Colonel Tanner says, “Springfield.”

Toni yells, cocking her AK-47, “Wrong! IT’S CHICAGO!”

Tanner stands up and slaps the barrel away. “You’ve seen too many movies.” The audience laughs a bit.

With that, Tanner joins the party, and proceeds to thoroughly explain the situation to the rest of the Wolverines.

THROUGH SONG.

Well things have settled by the Mississippi River,
Ivan’s dropping materials and weapons and paratroopers,
He’s down and nuked all the missile sites and is coming through the south
All we’ve got left are a million screaming chinamen!

May asks, “Weren’t there a billion screaming chinamen?”

Tanner pauses, then drops her alcohol into the fire, creating a big gust of flame. “There were.”

A Wolverine is tough, a Wolverine is fierce,
Their claws are strong, their fangs are razor sharp,
And where the Wolverines live, they are the king!
So girls, cheer up, heads high!
Because we’re the Wolverines!

The Wolverines sing that as they march through a field of death and destruction. Finally, they lie down at rest in some cover as snow starts falling. They’re now at the frontline. Suddenly, the ground rumbles, in fact, everything rumbles as the T-34 pops in and wrecks a bit of the scenery as it drives up. Megan fires the blank rounds indiscriminately off stage. Tanner stands up and rushes it, punching Megan in the face. Megan however pulls out a pistol and shoots Tanner.

“Tanner!” shouts Erica.

Tanner punches Megan again, knocking her back into the tank. Tanner then takes out a smoke grenade and places it on top of the T-34. She quietly yells, “Go on! Shoot straight for once!”

The lights dim as naught but the explosions light the stage. The curtains draw to a close as the T-34 rolls backwards. The crowd applauds.

Colonel Bella begins to sing as she writes a letter back home.

Oh tell me, my dear girl, what am I fighting for?
The men all die, lay dying, oh but what for?
This pointless slaughter, this useless violence, what does it do?
Oh tell me lord, what should I do?

Jen bursts onto stage, carrying a very wounded May Eckert. Bella raises her gun at them. Jen looks at her, pleadingly. Bella hesitates, then lowers her weapon. Then drops it all together, and simply walks off stage to the applause of many.

Jen sets May down. “Come on! May!” she says. “We can do it, because you know who we are? We’re the Wolverines!” Jen brings May into her lap, and it’s clear that she has died. Jen then sings softly:

A Wolverine is tough, a Wolverine is fierce,
Their claws are strong, their fangs are razor sharp,
And where the Wolverines live, they are the king.
So child, cheer up, head high.
Because we’re the Wolverines…

The curtain draws to a close. Erica walks out, dressed nicely and looking somewhat older. She says, “In the early days of World War III, guerrillas, mostly children, placed the names of their lost upon this rock. They fought here alone and gave up their lives, so that this nation shall not perish from the earth.”

With that, Erica walks off.

The audience stands and applauds to the Folk Music Club’s tune of “I’ll Fly Away”

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-dDAW-h39NM

The curtains draw out, the T-34 rolls up again, carrying the main cast who wave at the audience. Around the T-34 walk the minor characters. The T-34 stops, everyone gets off. First, the main cast comes up front, then bows. Then the minor cast comes up next to them and bows. Then you, Octavia, and the rest of Theatre tech come up the other side, and bow. All of you proceed to link hands and bow, then blow a kiss away to the audience.

Octavia walks in front of everyone and calls for silence and quietness. Once everything settles, she says, “Thank you all for coming to LGA’s production of Red Dawn: The Musical!” Everyone claps and cheers. “Now, now. It’s been hard work for all of us. And indeed, we have many people to thank. First off, I’d like to thank Gertrude Pool, Sophomore Class President and Head of the Tankery Program for directing and funding the play, among other contributions!”

You wave as everyone cheers your name. Boy, Octavia sure knows how to make you blush.

“Now,” says Octavia. “I’d also like to thank the Folk Music Club for providing our music, we couldn’t have done it without them, give them a round of applause!”

Cathy and her Girls along with Nicole and the rest of the Folk music club wave as the audience applauds them. Nancy quickly runs up to you and hands you the bouquet.

You walk over and hand the bouquet of flowers to Octavia, who looks at you surprised. You clap, the rest of the cast and crew clap with you, as does the audience. Octavia blushes furiously, quietly saying “Thanks,” and glancing downwards. She turns to the audience and says, “Gertrude Pool. Always so humble.”

You say, “Hey, I barely did a thing. It was all you, Octavia.” The cast and crew nod, continuing to clap.

Octavia grins. Kitten taps her on the shoulder, getting her attention. Kitten whispers something in her ear, then Octavia nods in approval. Kitten walks up to the front of the stage. “Hi, everyone! Uh…”

Oh boy.

Kitten clears her throat, intense redness in her cheeks. “My name’s Carol, my friends call me Kitten. Um. I’m not good at speeches, but I just wanted to say that working on the play was really fun. If you all want a nice good experience, do take Theatre Arts, really. I really have not just my best good friend Gertrude to thank for convincing me to do this, but I have Octavia and the cast to thank too for encouraging me every step of the way. Everyone, all of you,” she turns back to you all, smiling warmly. “Thank you.”

The audience claps politely. You smile. This feeling in your stomach. You’re feeling proud of her.

Kitten motions everyone to stand beside her, and everyone walks up. You especially stand next to her, Octavia on the other side. “Now, I want to leave everyone off with a rousing chorus of, ‘You are my Sunshine!’” She looks up at you, smiling. You smile back at her.

Everyone, including the audience, joins in for the finisher.

You are my sunshine, my only sunshine!
You make me happy, when skies are grey!
You’ll never know dear, how much I love you!
Please don’t take my sunshine away!

With that, everyone begins packing up to leave, chattering excitedly and talking of how awesome and funny the play was.

“Just a second, Kitten.”

You walk up to the rifle team, who are busy loading their weapons into a crate for easy transport. You say, “Need some help?”

Samantha Whitworth shakes her head. “Nah.”

You ask, “Say, uh… where did you get this stuff anyway?”

Natalya says, “We have a lot of time and money on our hands.”

You nod. “That so?”

Megan nods. “Yep! Things like the DP light machine gun, the Flamethrower, the RPG-7…” she looks a bit dreamy-eyed.

You nod. “Yeah, but… how?”

Samantha shrugs. “We’re just good Americans who obey our gun laws.”

That’s raising more questions than it answers, but you decide to leave it at that. Octavia quickly tells you that a celebratory dinner will be had at the local Fuddruckers. You didn’t realize they were still in business. Regardless, you say that you’ll try to make it there if possible. She also tells you she’ll transfer what funds she can tomorrow morning.

Your crew all assemble by the stage. Ramirez is… laughing.

The chi-he is a good tank too

Come Monday with what we make from cookie sales, whatever Octavia can pass our way, what we can get from selling the Chi-Ha and Littlejohn Adaptor (I assume we don't need it anymore), and our sponsorship money, well, we could probably buy whatever we want. I'm just waiting in anticipation, guys.

>>30225112
We're selling that piece of crap.

> Head to Fuddruckers

With that, you all get on the road to Fuddruckers. It’s not a particularly arduous walk, and hell, you didn’t even realize Fuddruckers served this late. Regardless, they make excellent hamburgers, and soon you’re sitting around a table with your staff, along with Octavia.

Octavia says, “Kitten, I must say,” as she bites into her hamburger. “I think there’s a future for you in Theatre Arts.”

Kitten tilts her head side to side, shrugging. “Oh, I don’t know about that. I just acted as all.”

Lisa says, “Oh, don’t beat around the bush, Kitten, I happened to like your singing. It was really nice!”

“Guys, please.”

Nancy nods. “I loved it too!”

“Please.”

Ramirez says, “It was cool.”

“Not you too, Ramirez.”

We do have a Tiger II with us. However, it's all up to how the ground rules are gonna be established.

Will Kay's sense of fair play have her match us in numbers?
Will it be 10 vs 10, but it'll mean we'll bench a couple of crews?

Here's a personal suggestion. Have her take 15, while we bring all our crewed tanks. We need to learn how to fight against superior numbers at some point.

Not too bad an idea. Unfortunately we aren't Oorai though, so we'll probably get our shit kicked in sideways. Especially if we'll be conservative with our CP (which we need to start stockpiling again soon). It'll be fun regardless, though, and a valuable learning experience despite the outcome.

With Kitten resting her head on your shoulders, you quietly study more up on Saunders. Their match with Ooarai apparently was a bit of a scam when Alisa used radio interception to track Ooarai’s movements, but it was later turned against them when Ooarai just used their cellphones.

You should remember that.

> + 5 CP

You gently piggyback Kitten then say, “I’m going to take Kitten home.”

Everyone nods, saying, “Good night.”

With that, you leave the Fuddruckers and head on home to the Dorms. It’s not a far walk mind you, and soon you’re back at Kitten’s dorm. You lay Kitten down on the bed, taking off her blazer, then her skirt, leaving her only her blouse. You gently place her blanket over her.

You yawn quietly. She’s so cute like that, sleeping.

Kitten opens her eyes a little. “Trudy?”

You say, “Yeah?”

She smiles, then closes her eyes again. “Thanks.”

You nod, then gently kiss Kitten on the cheek. “Good night, Kitten.” With that, you walk out of her dorm, then shut the door behind you.

So gentlemen, plan for the weekend?

We have a lot to catch up on...

>Settle dispute between Animu Club and Animation Club
>Help the Aviators fix their planes
>Visit Nicole Grant's clubroom (Freshmen subquest)
>Get the Sewing Club's materials back from O'Hara
>More cookie runs

I think we can afford to do 2 a day, but it'll depend on how long or short said quests will take.
>>
>>30226187
Snowmageddon Jr, which is somewhere between Scooty Puff Jr. and Scooty Puff Sr. in terms of severity.

>>
>>30226223
>Settle dispute between Animu Club and Animation Club
We'll need crews and doing this will net us at least one. It's important to do but not right now.

>Help the Aviators fix their planes
This has a deadline. I don't want to find out if we FAIL a loyalty quest. An elite crew is a fine reward also.

>Visit Nicole Grant's clubroom (Freshmen subquest)
Important, but not at the top of our list. We said we'd stop by to talk this weekend though...

>Get the Sewing Club's materials back from O'Hara
Crikes, what more do they need? Couldn't we just resolve this with a phone call or let Anna handle it?

>More cookie runs
Money's important, though not sure how much exactly we'll need or what specifically we want to buy. Let's figure this out now with the rest of the thread, sound okay?
>>
>>30226341
Actually the cookie runs are also a loyalty quest as we'll
>>
>>30226239

>>30226223
the aviators is almost done, getting the sewing club matirals back shouldn't be too hard. but the anime VS animation should be cleared up sooner than the freshies. they have to finish up that animated clip for us ASAP. it will be needed for our re-election. the cookies can be done any time. unless there is a finite cap we need to sell.

>>
>>30226385

The quest is not to get the material back but making them known again, which is easier said then done.

The anime vs animation doesn't seem that important but we should get around to it
>>
>>30226480
The panzer, the panther, and the sentienel don't need an upgrade right away.

Sherman chassis kind of does need some attention, but I rather wait and see how much we made and need to save for the aviation club
>>
If we have a chance to do two quests, what should we do

Aviation club seems settled but what else?
>>
>>30226830
Depends I think on if we're selling the Chi-Ha and how much we can get for it, and what the other quests involve. If we don't need money I want to square away the Sewing Club quick.
>>
>>30226830
probably the sewing club.

>>
>>30226480
>Anything we really don't need?
Well, the Littlejohn Adaptor can go at least.

>Anything we want?
I think priority should still be the Tiger II turret, but I will never support adding applique armor on it. Too redundant, too much unneeded weight. I'm patient enough to wait until Monday in-game for that though.

Additionally...
>No Grouser Kit* for the Hellcat yet
>No Improved Suspensions and Grouser Kit* for the T-34 yet
*GKs might be redundant for them though.

>>30226830
>Aviation club seems settled
Far from it. They said their deadline was tight and that they needed more time, resources and manpower.
>>
>>30226910
we shouldn't sell tanks any more till we have a surplus of them after we get all the teams recruited and in their tanks. even the bad ones are still needed. we will be facing other schools who can and will out number us. we will need to get a full a roster as possable.
>>
>>30226954
i think he meant that they are the priority to do next. time we might not get, the resources and man power is easy. i have explained it before in this thread.
>>
>>30226954
Right I agree with all that. The first things we buy are the Krupp turret and grouser/suspension for what needs them.
Are we sticking the Poles back in the Stuart and turning it into a Scott, giving the Hellcat to Theater Tech? This is what I want to do.

>Far from it.
I think he meant settled as in we've decided to do the quest; we've settled the discussion.

>>30226987
Ya, fine, okay. That's a fair enough point. I at least want a quote what we could expect from it. If it makes sense to sell it off and trade up for something much better then we're dropping that thing like an analogy in bad taste.
>>
>>30226954

So a while ago I had a discussion with some anon about the viability of using the M4 chassis as the basis for an Achilles or M36.
The two tanks are very similar due to the Chassis and Superstructure, the differences are that the Achilles has a lighter shell but suffers from a Manual Traverse, the M36 on the other hand has heavier shells and a Power Traverse.
I thought this was the deciding factor as both guns had similar Ballistics. However after some stumbling I was linked this http://www.armchairgeneral.com/forums/showthread.php?t=61681, which basically details the poor accuracy of the 17Pdr firing SVDS ammunition due to the Sabot leaving debris in the barrel

Just going to put part of another post from the link above

>Mark Hayward's Sherman Firefly: Medium Tank, Barbarossa Books, Tiptree (Essex, UK), 2001, ISBN 0 9538777 2 8

p. 35 Range yards (metres) % hit probability: APC APDS

400 (365.7) 90.5 56.6
600 (548.4) 73.0 34.2
800 (731.5) 57.3 21.9
1000 (914.4) 45.3 14.9
1500 (1371.6) 25.4 7.1

These trials werre conducted in mid-1944 (when other sources state that there were still problems with clean sabot separation and sub-standard batches of trial ammunition). The report said trying to pin-point vital zones on targets beyond 200-300 yds with APDS was pointless.

So the 17Pdr isn't as much a beast killer as I had once thought

Interestingly, the M36's turret and gun can be mated to the Hull of an M4A3 easily
>>
>>30227140
So you don't want the firefly?
>>
>>30227186
I'm just pointing out the limitations of the 17Pdr, but it might be for nothing if the QM doesn't know this
>>
>>30227140
the 17pdr is a good gun, not as good as the 90 firing HVAP, but still very good firing APCBC, its SVDS rounds however, are shit past 400 metres, they destabilize and shatter very easily, The Chieftain from Wargaming wrote up a series of articles detailing the tests the US did during the war, comparing the 17pdr alongside the 76 and 90
>>
>>30227133
to complete the sewing club might not be too hard to finish off. well, selling the adapter would help put some pocket change in the till.
>>30227135
it's alright.
>>30227140
looks good to me. i just hope we can get the money to put it together.
>>
>>30227212
What about the performance of Canadian tanks?

There is a possibility go getting a grizzly, I want the easy 8, but which is better?
>>
>>30227260
I don't think so if anything they may take as long as the Girl Scouts, might be better to do the frehman
