Hook up some psychic interfaces to the hub and see if the collective ghosts can exert any psionic might from it that is greater that what you'd expect from the amount of equipment attached.

>Research
Work on developing psi-interfaces for living things that are much less intrusive, and can be applied/used without requiring an operation and implantation on the subject. These are mainly to be used for allowing us to hack into subjects' brains easier (at least that's their initial purpose).

Is the purging of the infested areas of the lab complete yet?

>Basic 1
Look into trying to boost the power of our psy-interfaces.

>Mad Science
Continue research on the interface. Try using some sort of electron array deployed on the brain stem to weaken the host's resistance, before the not-implant uses its psy capabilities to take over the brain. The electron array should knock them out (and if it's deployed across a larger swathe of the brain it can even target areas that are generating psy-resistance). Developing particular algorithms for how to attack the brain with psy-probes to utilize instinctual responses to gain a foothold might also help.

I can't find your archive, so I'll just try to jump right in.

1) Can we convert the bioborg/cyborgs into warmachines?
2) Would it be possible to make a flesh eating virus to combat the zombies? (I assume it would affect us as well)
3) should we make characters or are we all part of some hivemind? I'd like to play a research scientist who was found in cryo stasis who is a bit of a loon.

>>
>>30221709
Can anybody give me a quick summary. It seems that I missed thread 2and I would prefer to not miss thread 3 because I was hunting through the archives.
>>
>>30221905
1) as far a I know we dont have the materials to do so effectively but we probably could at some point in the future
2) every thing we do has the propensity to blow back and annihilate us, so flesh eating virus could become dangerous quick
3) its more of a hivemind for the posters, but named hero units exist, give us bonuses, and can be ordered to do certain thing, as far as i can tell.

not that I am the definitive source of how any of this works, in the least im scrambling to try to understand everything and im reading the archives right now
>>
>>30221905

1) We could, but it'd be difficult, extremely expensive and require quite a bit of research and ingenuity.
2) We don't have biological warfare specialized facilities here, and that aside the zombie virus generally defeats plagues like that.
3) We're the /tg/ gods that dictate what this civilization does. There are hero-units in game, but they are their own separate entities with their personalities and etc. They react to what we/our civ does and will leave if we're acting idiotically.
>>
>>30221977

We got into a tight spot where zombies and monsters were swarming all over our Ski Resort and seemed like they were going to discover us and break in...then we made a (miraculous) deal with a shadowy organization that promised to keep us secret, and a military organization that has an obligation/responsibility to protect us.

If you want more just skim the archive by using cntrl+f "Hub".

Research continues they think it might be possible to create some sort of screen or hardware that could work but it seems like they might be missing something key...with the direct implants one could rely directly upon the brain to help make up for it.

That's inherent with the design of the HUB and Ghost system.

Only Ghosts can reach the hub, and ghost themselves provide a psuedo "purification" of what is supposed to reach the hub and in between people.

At least if we're going by how the anon designed it.

Ghost are also unnafected by psionics themselves, since they are only "mirrors" or emulations of the host.

MAD Science!
Well...we came up with a design but its rather bulky and we had no one to test it out on...so we THINK it works.

Mmkay...well I think we should get back to making ourselves tougher. As per OmniTri's suggestion.

>Basic 1
Dig into the Psionic Labs, see if there's any research notes hidden anywhere in there (physically or otherwise) and identify what needs to be repaired and if we have what would be required.

>Research
See if there's any way we can increase our personal durability further, preferably by improving our abilities to take hits (from bullets) rather than recover from/endure them.

We did find much in the psionic labs other then some mentions about the lack of psi reactive/counter materials and mentions of some sort of crystals and some sort of breakthrough.

For the most part the labs are there and their very good. Just might not be enough as psionics was a very tricky field.

Armor augs have been mentioned but one is rather aggressive in its implantation while the other features only minor benefit.

This time I remember as they didn't need the more detailed stuff that i would require.

Subdermal plating has been acquired for our forces our researchers claim there is other stuff yet too we could pursue as always its possible to both improve or go after something else.

Research into the crystals seems...they are actually psi reactive. The first such substance we have encountered for our facility. What this means or could turn into is unknown. One when revealed to the presence of psi will grow, while another sample merely glows. We have a few others be we do not yet know how they react or how we could acquire more.

Railguns, reverse engineering the military weaponry, and psi-crystal based stuff is out for various reasons and because they'd take too long.

Psionics is a viable path to take.

Something that would take advantage of our borg and/or bioborg capabilities.

Something that would take advantage of our mind-control interfaces.

Something that would bring the monsters down on the zombies (anyone noticed that whenever the zombies try to make a move on us the monsters get all riled up and hit us hard? I have. Maybe the Shadows are being guardian angels).

If they have as much versatility as the borgspiders did the line it'd be a good investment to make. I'm not entirely sure if that'd come into fruition in time to deal with what we're gonna face, but then again Richard managed to work on it with less time during an actual invasion to our base.

>How about we invest into making...I don't know, some sort of unorthodox implant-weapon like metal tentacles.
Hey there's something.

Like something the size of a grenade launched at a zombie, which releases tentacles controlled by ghosts that burrow into the vital organs and brain.

It could in theory act like a small dog sized insect and leap onto other zombies and try to burrow into them as well.

They wouldn't be able to replicate, but they could be cost effective to produce.
>>
>>30228756
turrets that can be controlled by the hub, that we can just stick guns that we already have into, that way if we get better guns we can just swap them out.
>>
>>30228768
That's a great idea, but not what we need right now I think.

If we do something like that, maybe we can make it so we can launch it at a big monster and control it's brain electronically instead of psionically (which has problems in the past)
>>

Rather than wires, we could use fleshy nervous systems to control the tentacles (not exactly long lasting, but these are meant to be used shortly after production).

A micro brain to facilitate ghost control could also be grown, which could be very small to suit only the most rudimentary tentacle controls instead of electronic.

Tentacles: Doctor Octopus style things, probably mounted on the back. Strong and durable, not terribly versatile by themselves but can be equipped with a wide variety of devices.

Tendrils: Lots of little, fibrous...tendrils. Mounted who knows where, can form into various shapes for different purposes, weaker than tentacles, aren't really suitable for mounting equipment on due to being lots of really small things.

Over load them and force a growth. Is one path. Good chance but they would have had to know about it for a good amount of time. ( Dam you Skelly being a wire tap. )
>>
>>30231366
They're after what they're "charges" want them to be after. And their charges are able to offer them what they personally want.

>>30231393
"If you've got everything you want? Why serve your charges. They're offering you something you find valuable clearly."
>>
>>30231404

Eh. We could try overloading them with Psy but I doubt that'd be **enough** to get us out of this.
>>
>>30231356
was this a post by genie?
>>
Rolled 68

>>30231414
Just thinking of what we could do with what we have. Mat's team would probably hurt us long term if we are not careful. But Ai or him would be the last fail back we have.
>>
>>30231422
nvm i was confused
>>
Rolled 34

>>30231409
HAH they serve me not the other way around. At the moment I merely humoring them. I just find it most annoying that the damned zombie you modified managed to find me. How embarrassing...
>>
>>30231438

Hmm. That's interesting.

I think our zomborged comrades may've taken over a hive's mind, but that this is the overmind we're talking to. It would give them motivation for wanting us dead (the ghosts being driven insane) and fits our observations at least slightly.
>>
Rolled 79

>>30231267
rolling to crack the seal on the AI

>>30231458
I think he is talking about skelly, since we made contact through him
>>
>>30231476
if nothing else we can lock ourselves in that section and buy our selves a little extra time
>>
Rolled 56

>>30231491
Move threw the air ducks to freedom. But what about the hub.
>>
>>30231511
what about the hub?
>>
>>30231476

Skelly is the one that found this thing, I doubt that Skelly is its "charges".
>>
>>30231476
are 3 rolls enough to begin this action?
>>
>>30231527
my guess is that the monsters are its charges, the overmind is humoring them, by opening the front door
>>
Rolled 81

>>30231518
The ghost our are homies they live there we have to some how take it with us if we leave.
>>
Rolled 39

So giving up on negotiations when you had found few such tasty leads?
>>
>>30231547
no, just thinking while taking action, unless taking action will spoil negotiations.
>>
>>30231540
That would imply the monsters are fine with paying tribute and service to the zombies who are also hunting them and using them as a food source.

If that were the case, it's a shame we couldn't open negotiations with the monsters and tell them about our anti-zombie technology. Then we'd find out what the zombies are offering the monsters.

Also of note, perhaps we should look to the bandits if we can. They live here too and I doubt this monster incursion will do any good for them either.
>>
Rolled 12

>>30231560
it may interfere with each other because turns are basically a certain amount of time.
>>
>>30231575

Good point. There aren't actually any bandits around these parts except for the very few ultra-elite groups...

Actually, they might just be coming to loot our corpses.
>>
>>30231581
(to the zombies)
"what do your charges offer you, that we cannot beat? also what is this prison, that we can do nothing to free you from?"
>>
Rolled 69

>>30231606
"My charges payment to be has already been received I no longer care what happens as is it might prove better that you end here. This prison is the one I am trapped in as for freeing me...I have no idea not even the one who did this to me seemed to know a way to reverse it the mad bastard.
>>
>>30231658
(zombies)
"The one who did this to you, could his name be Dr. Volk?"
>>
>>30231658

>The mad bastard.
>There's a scientific monstrosity in those ruins over there.
>So many monster strains even the finest pre-war...only broods would be able to...don't seem to be any around here.
>>
>>30231658
>This prison is the one I am trapped in
Come now, you can be more specific than that.

I'd certainly would be able to tell you in great detail whatever bars or chains kept me locked up, figuratively speaking.

There's only one other mad bastard I know of who'd be able to imprison the zombies

but these guys aren't doing the samba, so I doubt it's him
>>
Rolled 15

>>30231679
Hm how do you know about Dr. Volk my...creator and former ACQUAINTANCE THAT BASTARD.

I admit nothing.

WEAK
BODY
IT is HELL.
>>
>>30231699
quickly fetch Dr. Hakarr maybe he can tell us something of import
>>
>>30231699

>My creator...Hmm. Not saying Richard couldn't have made something rival Clora'Zel's daughter. Just saying.
>>
>>30231699

"We have a bit of a professional grudge against the Doctor. Here, you might want to talk to our leader he explains it best."
>>
>>30231699
>YOU try to be trapped within a SINGLE
>WEAK
>BODY
>IT is HELL.
. . .do you have any idea who we are?

We borgs were created specifically because of that.

Our bodies were weak, so we made them stronger.

Our minds were not content to a single body, so we ensured a piece ours could move in between bodies at will.

The Body is NOT a limit to us, and that can be true for you as well if you let us.
>>
>>30231699
ps whats gonna happen if the thread gets pruned seeing as how we have been in autosage for a while.
>>
Rolled 30

>>30231734
I am afraid borgs have limitations otherwise I would of done it oh so long ago.

>>30231714
>>30231731
>Dr. Hakarr

Ah of course yet ANOTHER one who has a grudge against Richard believe me I understand where your coming from.

>>30231752
I am tired as hell and need to call it quits. My writing is suffering and I can't do stuff justice that will show up soon.
>>
>>30231772
k its 5:10 AM here so i wont complain if you want to continue at a later date.
>>
>>30231772

Works perfectly for me. When will you resume?
>>
Rolled 28

>>30231772

I know that exact feel.
>>
Rolled 91

>>30231787
Next Tuesday as usual.

On an interesting note I am planning to compile my system into a single format that I intend to post.
>>
Rolled 35

>>30231810

That'd be spectacular. You might want to pastebin it though.
>>
Rolled 47

>>30231810
That way even after i am gone my system and hopefully post apoc civs will continue on. I do need to test it on a fantasy format though I would like to see how it would work with that one of these days while I can still run.
>>
>>30231825
>That way even after i am gone
That will be a very sad day indeed
>>
Rolled 50

>>30231825

That'd be a much grittier and realistic fantasy realm than most. I don't know how magic would mess with everything.
>>
Rolled 77

>>30231856
I would imagine would translate into a roughly psionic format but would be much more common.

>>30231836
Two anons have already tried to mimic my civs so I am confident post apoc civs will continue on.
>>
Rolled 12

>>30231865

You'd have to severely restrict its abilities somehow, because magic is far more game-breaking than psionics are. Materials for enchanting, for instance, would have to be about as rare as psionic crystals.

On another note, who's the second anon? I was there for Strelok, but never saw a different one.
>>
Rolled 60

>>30231865
My goal is to get my format down and possibly go over the older civs turn them into a ebook has had been suggested a few times.

>>30231880
The anon tried but was discouraged/panicked so it never led anywhere. Plus there are a few GMs lurking around trying it out as well.
>>
Rolled 42

>>30231880

Of course, maybe we just haven't figured out how to use psionics yet, and that's why they're not as gamebreaking to us.
>>
>>30231889

Hmm, that's a pity. Well if you do that I might actually restart the ubermutants.

I should've done what you're doing here in that last thread. Blech, I ruined the writing on that queen completely, among other things.
>>
Rolled 74

>>30231944
hm and what was that exactly?
>>
>>30231957

Went to sleep so I could do justice to things.
>>
Rolled 99

>>30231972
Ah I see I noticed its possible to get a second wind on occasion but its not wise to push it.
>>
>>30231944
>Well if you do that I might actually restart the ubermutants.
looks like all that fluff pushing and those free tips that one day was for naugth.

Oh well
>>
>>30232023

Shhhhh. They'll still be mostly valid. Things will just be a lot meaner.
>>
Rolled 4

>>30232023
Problem is reviving a young quest is hard harder still if the QM in question is still unknown. Its why I pushed through with the Memor so I hard I knew I had to get over that initial hill.
>>
Rolled 2

>>30232023
I wouldn't be so so sure that's the last time we hear of Dr. Mendel.

>>30232043
Anon's trying trying to push fluff helps the process along I imagine.
>>
>>30232043

Yeah, I'll give it one or two shots at restarting...and if they don't catch on I'll do another one.

It was quite odd how everyone wanted some sort of nationality associated with their faction. Very odd indeed.

More odd was the german-nazis that were mutants intent on assimilating genetic information from external sources.
>>
Rolled 1

>>30232072
I've noticed a pattern of choosing races based on the bad guys of the previous civ.
Aduro in response to Umbra.
The Bandits to see what it's like being on the other side of a Bandit curbstomp.

Yours specifically mentioned the Red Army as previous antagonists.
>>
>>30232085

Indeed it did. Pity you guys never found out about your past.
>>
Rolled 14

>>30232085
Red Army are some scary badass mofos. Pity I was not able to give them much screen time.
>>
>>30232099

I'm sure that something as widespread and powerful as the Red Army has plenty of remnants around, and plenty of backups and safeguards so they can come back later.
>>
>>30232099

I really hope you didn't plop Vault 101 right on top of/next to Clora'Zel's hideout.
