gnaw them ropes....then what?

What seemed to be decided was chewing through ropes and hoping Digby would be back. Or something about snakes and lube.
>>
>>30236627
It would be ideal if Digby came back. If not, can you use your spines to pick the lock on the cell?

>>
>>30237174
That depends on what type of lock it is. I'd expect it to be a fairly crude lock, so it shouldn't be too difficult.

Overall, our options are either to escape using what's in the cell, or hope that someone from the outside lets us out. Since we don't have anything in here that could bend the bars, the only thing we can do on our own is pick the lock.

Alternatively, we might be able to convince the guards that we need help if we act like we're injured. That's a long shot, though.

You can't see the lock and you never caught sight of the key. There's literally nothing in the cell except "him" and you don't really want to deal with "him" right now, and actually you don't see any guards so you guess no one is watching you.

I don't know how we can really get him man. Unless we just hide till this is over. But that said, if we get caught, we are very dead. Ah, I suppose we can keep exploring, maybe see if there isn't any other buildings of not in this village?

We can't leave him behind. Unless something very drastic happens within the next few minutes that renders him unsaveable, leaving him is killing him.

That little bastard didn't help us, so screw him.

But we can't leave the island. Our sister is probably here. Let's just hide for now and try to find her later, at night.

If by chancve we find Digby when we dicide to head out, then we can consider taking him.

It's not about how helpful he was, however cheesy it may seem, it's about what's right.

Besides, can you imagine how much of a middle finger it would be to the snake mayor if we managed to snatch altar boy out from under him?

See if you can't get it doing something more organized, like a circle to confirm control. While we do that, explore the possibility of getting to the docks, I think we should check if they found our boat. If they got it we'll need to know BEFORE we need to make a quick escape

Maybe it's sick? It might need food or water. At least we know we really can control it.

>Well it looks like the snakes don't go all the way to the docks so it's very possible you might be able to get out to them.
I think you'd be spotted. If there are any places to go from the alleys, or anywhere to exit further away from the swarm, I wouldn't risk it.

>>
>>30249732
That depends on what our other options are. As of now, we don't know if we have any, so we can't make an informed decision.
>>
>>30249757
ultimately, it seems like we have a no real set direction, the main street (and thus the mayors house) are obviously no goes. But AH, what about Bigby's house! Or rather the building we met him in. What if we were to go there and wait for him?
>>
>>30249850
I don't think it's actually his house. They probably just set it up to trap us. The only reason he's likely to return is if he thought we were still trapped and decided to get the mayor's key like we planned. Making him do that would be pretty unkind.

>captcha: and royiyi
Pretty unkind and royiyi. I, for one, don't want to be royiyi to someone who tried to help us.
>>
>>30249894
this is a fair point. Then where should we go? I think we should perhaps try the docks, after all, were going to be trapped here if they tampered with the boat, and the sooner we know the better
>>
>>30249915
Again, that depends on what our options are. If the swarm ends within a few dozen feet of the docks, we're likely to be spotted. Then again, it's a good opportunity as any, since there's likely to be a gate guard at any other time.

On the other hand, while confirming our means of escape is a good idea, we don't actually have anything to do there, and it would be a bad idea to get captured just to confirm something like that.

...If we're far enough away, then quickly slipping out should be okay. Then we can slip back in to the other side of the street, and check that out.
>>
>>30249975
I think we should then decide on a destination. We can see the swarm's end from our position, but how close that is to the docks in anyone's guess. As for what there is to be done, there is a) confirming the escape route, and b) investigating the guard house, which at present is one of the only areas we have encountered thus far that is NOT in the middle of a snake hoard. There is still the option of trying to get out of the snakes' line of sight and going to the other side of the street, but we don't know what's there. I am suggesting the docks/ guard house simply because it is one of the only places we know exists
>>
>>30250045
Reading back through the thread, I believe we checked everything on this side of the street; there's not much we can do here, so we might as well go to the docks.

Also, check on our little purple buddy. I think it's sick. We might want to give it some water if we find any.
>>
>>30250102
Assuming it's not simply dieing from lack of a host, we should see what effects water has on it. Studying these things is going to undoubtedly help
>>
>>30250102
Or food. We haven't eaten in a while either, maybe it's like a tapeworm.
>>
>>30250132
The red worms seem to be fine without a host, but maybe ours is special. Conversely, the water around the island is saltwater, which could be very nasty on the purple worm; we should use only a few drops at first.

Either way, we'll want to clean it off if we're going to reabsorb it; we've been keeping it in dirty bowls.
>>
>>30250173
IF we want to reabsorb it. It is a parasite after all, one that is known to take control of it's host after enough time, perhaps we shouldn't reintroduce it to our body. Furthermore, I am beginning to suspect the bones that littered the island belonged to the hosts of the red worms, and were ejected so as the skin can be worn like a horrible suit. At least that is my working theory
>>
>>30250233
Possibly, but the purple worm is behaving fairly differently from the others we've seen. If we can control it reliably, it should be relatively safe.
>>
I see you guys had fun trying to figure out the differences between the purple and red snakes

but it definitely looks like you guys want to try the docks

So what do you do now?
>>
>>30269831
I don't know. I guess try to signal the altar boy?
>>
>>30269831
Well, physical contact doesn't help, and giving it saltwater didn't do anything significant. Maybe we could put it back inside our body? But in a place where it's easy to remove?
>>
>>30269705
>>30269687
Wait, did that actually happen, or?

Once again: Not in public!

Is there a way you could distract the mayor? Like toss a rock down the street, or stab him in his ugly snake face?

The snake people must be bored the alleyways are very clean... I guess you'll have to throw something you have
>>
>>30270247
What does we have?
>>
>>30270247
I don't think that would be a good idea. It'd just set their attention to us.

I'd rather distract them some other way. Maybe setting a fire in one of the buildings, but that seems rather extreme. Some of the snakes seem pretty nice; I don't want to cause a large disaster if it's avoidable.
>>
>>30270464
well, it's not like they have anything in these houses... Just saying.

But no, let's not get the hoard angry at the moment. Perhaps we can fashion some sort of crude noise maker from some spare rope (of any) and some bowls from a house? Tie it off somewhere and hope the clatter brings them around

Here's what you got so far
>>
>>30270797
What about the knife?
>>
>>30270797
Well, if we really can't think of any better ideas, we CAN throw the cup across the street. But save that idea as a last resort. Waste of a cup, and odds are low that it'll work as intended
>>
>>30270797
Would it be possible to find another cup, tie both of them to the end of the rope, then set it up as a pendulum somewhere in the alleys?
>>

What about the boot from earlier? or the metal bar

Also I'm passing out
