Your name is Alice and you are a prototype infiltration/assassination android who is watching as a military intelligence agent is following your predecessor model, the DD-90S, even though you killed her during testing on Papa's orders.

How did the DD-90S survive? Is Papa still alive? You need answers, and the only way to get those answers is to isolate and interrogate the DD-90S.

You remember that the DD-90S can mimic a human like you can, but it's less intelligent than you, with an extremely limited library of data to draw upon unlike you that has to be pre-loaded.

The possibility of modification is also not possible; you know from talking with Mom that androids like yourself are an unknown field of advanced robotics, designs cannot be modified easily without severely degrading one or more aspects of the original design.

Not only that, the cost means that rebuilding a destroyed model is more feasible and cost-effective than building a new one.

That means the DD-90S in front of you is likely the same one you killed nearly three years ago in testing.

You access the communications channel you picked up, breaking the encryption easily.

"...support Command, preferably with a heavy weapon, no way I can take on one of Doctor Eglan's mechanical freaks by myself."

"Understood Roberts, stay calm, we're moving an Assault Team into place now. Just keep eyes on it and don't lose it."

You turn your eyes to the DD-90S and watch as it picks up a box containing a laptop and begins heading to another area of the electronics store.

(Cont.)
>>
>>30289585
What weapons do we currently have?

Under what circumstances did we kill DD-90S? Rebellion, opposing scientists, disposal of prototypes, etc?
>>
You pick up a box with a random music player and begin trailing the intelligence agent and the DD-90S, studying them.

The accent and language of the intelligence agent marks him as Russian, likely GRU. Bearing indicates field experience as special forces, likely Spetsnaz.

You're glad you took along a weapon just in case, although you could only take...

-...your Beretta, tucked into a pocket with 4 Magazines.
-...the survival knife. Not much but better than nothing.
-...the Stun Gun, since it wouldn't be noticed by cops.
>>
>>30289840
I would have preferred the broken ass Gas Knife, but a normal one will do.
>>
>>30289840
the Beretta. We dropped off the SMG and the extra ammo under the bed but kept the gun.
>>
>>30289840
>-...your Beretta, tucked into a pocket with 4 Magazines.

Just gonna go ahead and say here that I like the way that Alice has her own backstory and personal issues that she has to solve. It would have been really easy to just write it so her life revolves around Ian's (and that's the first way to go with it that comes to mind), but instead she has her own plot threads that go in their own direction, largely separate from Ian's, except where it makes sense.

It's cool, is what I'm saying. I like it.
>>
>>30289585
Does the name Dr eglan ring any bells for us?
>>
>>30289840
I know it's bad to make the votes even, but...

...the Stun Gun. We're not looking to hurt anyone right now, and melee is plenty lethal without a knife.
>>
>>30289993
you want to take on an assault team with a stun gun?
>>
>>30290032
I don't want to fight an assault team at all.
>>
>>30290032
Well, in-story, we didn't KNOW there was an assault team...

Plus, we might be on their side.
>>
>>30290068
we hear about the assault team on the radio channel we cracked. The only side we are on is the side pressed up against Ian.
>>
>>30289840
Beretta is best.
>>
>>30290228
I mean that we didn't know when we were stashing weapons.
>>
>>30290279
True. Though considering our character and what has happened so far, bringing the heavier weapon makes sense.
>>
>>30290490
fair point, Berreta is still within the ambiguous realm between practical and yandere/paranoid for this setting.
>>
>...your Beretta, tucked into a pocket with 4 Magazines.

You covertly touch the pockets where you placed the pistol and ammunition, shadowing the pair as the DD-90S begins checking out wireless routers and modems, before moving on...to...

Wireless routers, wireless modems, a laptop and right now talking with a staff member over purchasing six high-spec home computers.

That's the basic electronic requirement for a safehouse. Someone is hiding in the city and using the DD-90S to recover the equipment needed to wirelessly hack into and observe through the panopticon security grid, which combined with that name...

Doctor Nathaniel Eglan.

Papa. Papa is alive!

You strangle to urge to grab the DD-90S and drag into a dark hole and extract the information direct from it's brain. You need to stay calm and find out what the DD-90S is doing now.

She's paying for her purchases now. Physical bills, less of a paper trail. Clean, professional, clearly she's been pre-loaded with the necessary infiltration libraries but that means her combat libraries are not going to be very detailed.

If you threaten her, she'll run, you need to isolate her quickly. Perhaps the GRU man can be of use to you in that regard?

But first, you have to make contact with the DD-90S and you move forward, before suddenly stiffening as you feel a hand grab your butt roughly.

You turn to find a leering male face and your lip curls back in a snarl as you hiss out, "Pervert!"

Before he can react, your fist lays him out with a single punch and you leave the store as the security guard hauls him up and escorts him away.

Fuck, that distraction caused you to lose the DD-90S and the GRU agent, so you quickly begin searching for the radio signal.

"...in sight...books...manuals..."

Too much noise, but you have enough of a signal to follow and quickly jog after the signal, heading up two levels and following the signal to a nearby food court.

(Cont.)
>>
You spot the GRU man and the DD-90S across the way. The DD is busy purchasing various fast foods for takeaway, probably to feed Papa.

Why didn't Papa contact you? Did he know you were alive? What about Mom? And why was the DD-90S online anyway? It was made by Doctor Hagane, and Papa hated her, which you understand because she was a bitch.

You cross the food court and resume following the DD-90S, listening to the radio channel.

"She's heading to the parking lot elevators, orders?"

"Stay on her, the assault team is nearly in position."

Dammit. You speed up and move ahead of the GRU man just as the DD-90S reaches an elevator that has passengers exiting it.

You break into a run as she enters and begins pressing the door close button. You stick your hand in and prevent the doors from closing and slip inside before they close again, "Phew! Made it!"

The DD-90S looks at you, "I did not want anyone on the elevator. You should have waited or found another." That was another flaw with the DD-90S, their lack of actual social ability.

"Mou, don't be mean, I wanted to get to my car in a hurry!" You whine at her and the DD-90S continues staring at you.

"Get off at the next floor." It orders and you frown.

"No."

She stares at you, before turning away, "Fine."

The elevator doors open and the DD-90S quickly exits into the fifth floor car park and you exit after her, breaking away as if going to your own car, before moving to match her travel.

Suddenly, a van screams out of the ramp area and comes to a stop as the DD-90S drops her bags and pulls out a Glock 18C from a hidden holster before dashing behind a car as four armed men exit the van.

"Spread out! Don't destroy the head, we need it's memory intact!"

Oh fuck, you need to do something before they capture the DD-90S. Now.

Just 4? With the element of surprise, and another shooter?

Too easy.

Does gunfire sound different based on the model? I vote for shooting slightly behind each guy, making it sound like the GRU is the one firing as we pick them off one by one.

Gunfire does sound different, yes.

>Then flank them as quickly as possible and kill but one.

You scream loudly, catching the four men's attention as you ready your pistol and seemingly run out from a nearby car, knowing that the DD-90S will use the distraction to hide more effectively.

"Fuck! Watch your fire! Civilian!"

You move to a flanking position and draw your pistol before suddenly moving out of cover and taking aim as the weapon stats appear in your HUD.
