> AUGUST 29th 1938 <
> SKULL ISLAND, THE SOUTH PACIFIC <

“Five minute break,” yelled the leader Stormtrooper.

You are Christine “Chris” Hunter. You’re a fifteen year-old girl, Girl Scout, Spy for the United States, and a Magical Girl known to many as Magical Girl Liberty. You are now in a small canyon, overgrown with moss and bushes, the occasional Atlantean ruin here and there upon the legendary Skull Island, the birthplace of King Kong who so ravaged New York back in 1933.

You and Sumire sit next to each other, your hands bound and around your neck a sparkling collar which, while comfortable to wear, was kind of restricting your escape at the moment. Your girl scout uniform was in shambles, mud on the skirt, tears at the sleeve, and you can just feel a draft between the shirt and the skirt.

“This is your fault,” you quietly say to Sumire Kawanishi, AKA Magical Girl Lightning.

Sumire looks at you, surprised. “My fault? How was I supposed to know the Thule Society’s expedition to Skull Island was going to be supported by a small army of Nazi Stormtroopers AND a contingent of Hitler’s own Nazi Storm Elite?”

You roll your eyes. “You literally said to me and Operator #5 that ‘they’re just a bunch of old men with penknives, what are they going to do?’” you say in a mocking tone.

Lightning puffs her cheeks out, getting mighty adorably angry. “I don’t sound like that.”

“Quiet.” The man who said that walks up before you two. Unlike the rest of the Nazis who wear khaki military garb or the Nazi Storm Elite who’re fully clad in black, he was smartly dressed. Shorts for the environment, a nice white shirt dusty from the travel into Skull Island’s jungle, and a pith helmet to block out the shade.

You sigh. “Mister Anselm Schwarz.”

[1/2]
>>
>>30330605
Schwarz smiles, kneeling down in front of you two young girls. “Now hey, I’m a nice enough guy you two. The Fuhrer has provided me with the excellent opportunity to uncover the Atlantean artifact upon this deathtrap of an island. How can I refuse?”

Lightning leans back, looking at you expectantly. You say, “You’re just another Nazi. You’re just hiding behind an excuse of academics and schoollearning.”

“That’s quite the escalation, Miss Hunter,” he says. He edges a bit closer, glaring at you. “You know that collar of yours. Wonder how it works? It’s anti-magic. Levels the playing field for us. You should know,” he says as he smirks. “It was your father’s work.”

You hiss at him. “My father was twice the man you are.”

Schwarz stands, chuckling a bit. “If he was, I’m sure he would be alive right now instead of taking a bullet in the name of Liberty.”

You start seeing red. You have to be forced back down by Sumire, and after a few tense seconds in which you and Schwarz stare each other down, you shakily exhale and sit back down.

Schwarz shakes his head. “Typical Americans.” He gestures to one of the huge hulking Storm Elite troopers. “Watch over them,” he says. The Storm Elite trooper silently nods then stands over you, his huge machine gun glinting in the sunlight and his gasmask eyeglasses shining so as to keep his eyes obscured. The only sense that you can tell that a man is even behind all that body armor and black clothing is his steady, low, raspy breathing.

Lightning says, “Excuse me, Mister Storm Elite. I have to go to the bathroom.” You look at her, incredulous. Then she slyly winks at you. Ah, this must be her idea of escaping. The Storm Elite trooper looks over at Schwarz, who simply shrugs in response. He quickly grabs Lightning roughly by her sailor uniform sleeve and starts marching her down the canyon where you came from.

There’s a smattering of stormtroopers with rifles and SMGs, around twenty five. That’s not including the five Storm Elite troopers still watching you, with the sixth who just went with Lightning.

What shall you do?

You sigh. You decide to listen in some of the conversation Schwarz has with one of his Lieutenants. Unfortunately, most if it is in German so you’re not entirely sure what in the hell they’re saying to each other. Something about a Fraulein Teeger or something.

You wonder when Operator #5 is going to get here. He said he’d come around if you didn’t remain in contact for more than six hours. It’s been a day and all you’ve done is soak mud and suck dirt as prisoners to the Nazis. Jeez, this is not going to look good on your record.

You rub your hair as best you can with these rope bounds on as some light gravel starts falling on you. Then you can feel the earth rumble a bit, sort of like a distant drum beat. Well, not exactly distant, in fact its getting closer. And closer.

And closer.

You stand up, and like the rest of the Nazis, you look down where that rumbling and tumbling is coming from. Back down the canyon where you came from.

[1/2]
>>
>>30331499
[2/2]
Then the Storm Elite arrives into view, MG over his shoulder, booking it. “Was ist los?” yells Schwarz as the Storm Elite blows past everyone. Then you look back to see Sumire, her rope bounds completely cut.

“RUN!” she screams. You’re about to ask her what she’s on about. Then you see the cause of those earthquake style rumblings.

A stampede of Skull Island Brontosaurus.

“Gott im himmel!” screams Schwarz as he and all the Nazis start running. You start legging it too.

“SUMIRE!” you yell. “This is your idea of an escape!?” You momentarily trip over yourself, then Sumire catches you and gets you running again. You realize you’re now in the shadow and between the legs of these long thought extinct creatures, roaring like whales as they tumble and bumping into each other in this thin canyon.

Sumire shrugs. “Look! Beggars can’t be choosers, okay!?” Then you hear the reptilian hissing. Raptors.

(Related, weren't Brontosaurus actually just misidentified fossils, and never actually existed?)
>>
>>30331684
Brontosaurus is simply another name for Apatosaurus.
>>
> Stick to the middle with Sumire in between the legs of all these Brontosaurs.

You dodge right, narrowly missing getting crushed. Unlike a Stormtrooper who tripped and ended up smashed underfoot. You feel some dust and stone smack you as the monuments steps of these lumbering beasts shake the earth. The Raptors growl and call as they follow from the top of the canyon. One bold Raptor leaps and grabs onto the long neck of a Brontosaur above you. The Brontosaur screams as it hurls left in response. You and Sumire duck right as an unfortunate Stormtrooper is smashed between the wall and the leg of the beast.

The beast lumbers right into a cliff wall, smashing the Raptor loose and sending it tumbling down in front of you. It roars as it lifts it head up, but is shut up by Sumire jumping over and giving it a swift kick to the jaw.

“Did you just-“ you say.

“Yep!” smiles Sumire.

You look ahead, and you can see the Canyon start widening out. Yes. This might be a chance of escaping.

You, Sumire, and another Stormtrooper stop in your tracks. NOPE. It’s a giant drop off into the jungle below. You look back and immediately push Sumire out of the way of a clumsy Brontosaurus, who knocks the Stormtrooper off the cliff, then falls off itself, roaring on its way down.

You look right. There’s a small path, but you can see a Raptors coming up towards it.

You look left. That’s where all the Nazis and the dinosaurs are going.

“Sumire! This way!”

“But there are Nazis that way!?”

“Do you want to get eaten or shot!?”

“Okay, good point.”

The two of you quickly start following alongside the Brontosaurs and the Nazis. Funny, you can feel your legs start going. Oh, wait, those aren’t your legs. The Cliffside is giving way. Sumire immediately starts hopping and skipping, even managing to outpace you. You grit your teeth and barrel back towards the wall to your left. Boy, being a Magical Girl has its perks and one of them is near unlimited stamina.

Much to your relief, the path loops back around and starts going downwards. You and Sumire catch up to the Nazis, and even manage to catch up to Schwarz and his bodyguard of Storm Elites.

“How are you still alive!?” he yells.

“Magical Girls!” yells Sumire happily.

A Storm Elite runs over, muffled yell emitting from his gasmask, meaning to tackle you. You stop just short, letting him overextend and then trip head over heels. The last you see of him is him being pounced upon by Raptors.

Schwarz growls in frustration, then takes his .44 Reolver and starts firing randomly at the dinosaurs. One shot meets its mark at the weak knees of a Brontosaur, sending it collapsing.

“Look out!” yells Sumire.
>>
>>30332628
Much to his dismay, he’s sent the entire pack into one great big tumble. The Brontosaurs start piling up on each other, crushing Stormtroopers, Raptors, and each other in the small space of the canyon.

You and Sumire duck into a hole, narrowly dodging a Brontosaur sliding across the ground as it falls.

Then, finally, everything settles.

You stand up, Sumire dusting herself off. “Whoo! That was something!” she yells. Stormtroopers and Storm Elites start regathering themselves. There’s only ten stormtroopers you can count, along with five Storm Elites. Much to your disappointment, Schwarz is still alive.

Much to your horror, the Raptors are still alive as well. They call out and start regrouping on the corpses and still struggling bodies of the Brontosaurs.

“Sumire! Let’s go go go!”

You lead Sumire, hopping over the neck of a wounded Brontosaurus.

Schwarz calls out to you. “LIBERTY!”

You turn around and give him the finger quickly, then make a run for it. He’s got the Raptors to deal with. You can hear gunfire go off behind you as you start running. “There!” yells Sumire. She points over to a small cut in the jungle. That has to work you suppose.

You run into the cut, feeling bushes and leaves slap against you as you run. You spit out a bug that just flew into your mouth too. Disgusting. Probably poisonous considering everything else on this island is trying to kill you. You quickly spit as well, just to make sure.

Finally, the sound of gunfire dies out as you and Sumire quit your running. You bend over, panting. Then you realize you’re still bound and tied. Sumire walks over and starts undoing your bindings. Once your hands are free, you rub your wrists. Those Storm Elites know how to a tie a damn good knot.

Sumire says, “Okay. So since everything screwed up and apparently I can’t come up with good ideas, what should we do?”

You say, “Okay. First we have to try and get Operator #5 on the line.”

“I know he’s a weirdo,” you say as you start pacing the ground, trying to think. “But he’s far more experienced than any of us when it comes to this spymastering stuff. He’s prepared for a lot of situations,” you say.

“Like this one,” said a smooth southern-y voice. You stop in your tracks, then look where it came from. That bird wasn’t resting on that branch a second ago. “Hello, Liberty. Hello, Lightning.”

Lightning smiles. “Operator #5! It’s nice to hear from you! Why are you a bird?”

Operator #5’s bird opens its beak, the eyes going red as he talks. “I’m not a bird, Lightning. This bird is simply one of the many ways I can keep tabs on Skull Island. It appears you’ve underestimated the Nazi presence here.”

Lightning simply shrugs at that. You sigh, and say, “Look. They captured us and put some antimagic collars on us. Do you have anything on this island that could help us?”

“Hmmm…” Operator #5’s bird cocks its head. “Lessee… I have a high flying wing that I can divert to fly over the island. It’ll drop you something that can break those collars.”

You nod. “Okay…” You blink. “Wait a second. How long were you just watching us?”

“Since yesterday,” he says.

You say, “And you only think of now to try and help us?”

“I believe in the capability of Magical Girls, Liberty. You especially. Also, that Brontosaurus stampede was something else entirely.”

You nod. “Yeah, yeah. Whatever, just drop the-“ You flinch as a huge capsule immediately embeds itself into the ground. “Okay…” you say. Sumire touches the capsule, which starts unfolding to reveal…

A pair of pliers.

You say, “It’s just a wire cutter.”

“Is it? I must’ve forgotten to load the lubricant and the tape. Damn,” says Operator #5. “Oh well. You can make do with that wire cutter. It’s specially built by me to take on magically blessed items. They should break those antimagic collars with ease.”

You nod. “Alright. Thanks, Operator #5.”

“Don’t mention it, I’ll send an autogyro your way. Make sure the Nazis do not get that artifact,” he says as his bird flies away.

Sumire picks up the wire cutter. “So, who goes first?”

“I’ll do you, Sumire.”

Sumire nods then hands you the wirecutters. You carefully angle it up to her neck, and bring the pincers around the collar.

“Do this gently,” says Sumire. “I don’t want to be Magical Girl Headless Lightning.”

“Yeah, yeah,” you say. “Big baby.” You slowly start cutting the collar. The collar starts sparking in response, and Sumire starts flinching and cringing. “Hold still.” You quickly just snap it shut, shattering the collar to a million pieces.

Sumire rubs her neck, grinning. “Yes!” She takes the wirecutters from you.

“Okay, let’s do this fast,” you say. “I don’t want any…”

There’s a hideous, gravelly, growl emanating nearby. The both of you slowly turn around to see what Mister Savage called, the Vastatosarus Rex. It’s mouth is bloody, and you can see drool dripping from its razor sharp teeth. His eyes are focused squarely on you two.

You quickly bolt for it, as does Sumire as the V-Rex roars, pretty much splitting your head with how loud it is. You start hopping over bush and root with ease, grabbing onto your collar.

Wait, darn it. The wire cutters. Sumire must still have them. You look around. Where the hell is Sumire?

You slide underneath a fallen tree. The V-Rex meanwhile simply rams through it, splitting the wood asunder. It closes in on you, every step it takes getting louder and louder.

You look back, it’s mouth is open, ready to have you for lunch.

Then it’s hit in the side, barreling into a tree.

> MAGICAL GIRL LIGHTNING! <

Lightning hops down, wirecutter in one hand and glowing naginata in the other. “Hey! Big guy!” She throws the wirecutters to you, then twirls her naginata and brandishes the blade at the recovering V-Rex. “You hungry!?”

You quickly shatter your collar, and then let the magic transform you into…

“Lightning!”

“Got it!”

You crouch down and bring your shield up. Lightning hops up, then jumps, blasting you into the ground. She flies at the V-Rex, naginata raised over her head. The V-Rex headbutts her out of the way, sending her into a tree.

You grit your teeth, then run at the V-Rex yourself. You spin your shield and then toss it in one smooth motion. It smacks into the V-Rex’s eye, smashing it to bits. It roars in pain as you close and throw your other shield into its neck. It recoils backwards into a tree.

Lightning jumps up and again tries to bring down her blade for a decapitating strike. The naginata slices into the V-Rex’s neck, but ends up stuck. Lightning screams as she hops up onto the V-Rex’s head then pulls her naginata out.

You roll your eyes. She’s joyriding.

Lightning grabs onto a ridge on the V-Rex’s head as it runs forward, trying to shake her off. But she won’t have that. She stabs her blade deep into the V-Rex’s skull, twisting it as the beast roars. Then she pulls, ripping the top of its head off and sending blood and bits of bone flying.

She lands next to you gracefully, blood splattered all over the blade of her naginata. She smiles, flirtfully as you withdraw your shields and start walking. “So, how was it?” she asked.

You say, “Which part, the one where got knocked into a tree?”

Lightning pouts. “Hang on, that was a simple mistake! How was I supposed to know he’d just smack me out of the air like that?”

“Lightning,” you say. “Animals here are not as stupid as you may think them to be. I should know, I’ve been here before.”

“Really?”

“Yes. I was part of a scientific expedition with Mister Savage,” you say. “Wasn’t that fun, I got to sit around on the beach all day. Occasionally a giant crab would attack.” Fun times. Fun times.

Lightning nods and says, “I see.” She shrugs. “Whatever. Your bank account.”

You say, “Speaking of which, we have to get to that artifact. Follow me, I think I might know where it is.”

You and Lightning start sprinting through the trees, hopping over rocks, roots, bushes, and other obstacles in your path. You vaguely remember what Schwarz said he wanted. Something hidden away in some ancient Atlantean temple. The forest practically flies by as you start doubletiming it there. Whatever it is, it can’t fall into Hitler’s hands.

Lightning slices through a thick bush, allowing you access to a large cliffface which overlooks a temple, buried into the side of a huge cliff. The only access apparent seems to be a thin stone bridge, barely held aloft by spiring tall columns. You see the Nazis walking up the bridge, bringing up small tanks like Panzer IIs and trucks. You sigh. That must be another one of their parties.

Sumire grins, stomping the shaft of her naginata at the ground. “So, what’s our angle of attack?”

You say, “Let’s go in quietly.”

Lightning frowns. “Aw, that’s no fun.”

“What do you think we pay you for?”

With that, the two of you quietly hop down unnoticed into the staging area where more trucks are being gathered. You quietly crouch behind some crates, and then sneak way your into the back of a covered truck.

… full of some very surprised stormtroopers.

Lightning smiles evilly. “Hey boys.”

A few smacks and punches later, the stormtroopers are hidden away from prying eyes. Your truck starts rolling over the bridge towards the huge Atlantean temple. The ride is long and the suspension doesn’t really like the cobblestone bridge, but you manage to not let out a peep.

Once the truck is over, more stormtroopers arrive. They quickly check in the bed, and find nothing but crates. That’s because only idiots hide in the bed, you’ve gone and hid underneath the truck itself. Once they’re gone, you both let go and then crawl into a pile of crates.

You look over, Schwarz is directing a couple of stormtroopers. He’s flanked by a young German girl, probably from the League of German Girls. Around them are the five Storm Elites. A stormtrooper taps Schwarz’s shoulder then says something. They all nod then leave the entrance.

The huge entrance doors, lovingly built and crafted and standing what could possibly be over two-thousand years, are blown to smithereens. You cringe, they could have at least disassembled it. It’s large enough for tanks to go through, so a Panzer II rolls in, a squad of stormtroopers riding atop it. Schwarz and his posse follow it.

You motion Lightning to follow you as you quickly shift between columns, crates, and trucks all the way into the entrance. You enter in to find yourself in a grand big hallway, well, it would be grand if it wasn’t so old and disused. There’s moss and cracks all over the place, the ancient Atlantean writing has since be scarred or rubbed out by unseen forces, probably the natives.

You keep to the side in the shadows, steadily following the Panzer II and Schwarz’s posse. They haven’t spotted you yet so far, but hell you’ll make yourself known when you want to.

Finally, they stop, so you do as well, keeping yourself as far into the shadows as possible. They’re at a huge set of doors, wide enough to let the Panzer II through.

Schwarz calls the girl over. She walks up to the door and then looks down at her hand, then presses it against the door. The door immediately lights up blue around the edges, glowing brilliantly. How? She must be a Magical Girl.

You sigh. This isn’t going to be easy. First Storm Elites, now this.

The doors slide open, and once fully opened, the Panzer II rolls through.

Once they’re all through, you follow them and hang at the entrance, poking your heads out. What you see is a large room, empty and devoid of anything, save for a small platform at the center whereupon floats what appears to be a glass shard. The shard glows blue, and occasionally gives off sparks like lightning. Schwarz smiles, reaching out to grab it, but is stopped by the girl. Schwarz motions for her to take it, and she reaches out to grab it.

“Hey!”

The all turn to you, surprised.

Schwarz says, “Liberty. I see you’ve broken your bonds.”

Lightning grins. “We have! And we’re going to make you wish those Raptors had eaten you back at that canyon!”

You point at the Stormtroopers, making them flinch a bit in fear. “We’ve got no quarrel with you. If you value your lives, you’ll leave.” You point at the girl and say, “Same goes for you. Magical Girls shouldn’t fight each other.”

The girl crosses her arms. “The League of Magical Girls ceased to exist since the Great War. If you think we are still a unified body dedicated to the protection of humanity, you are dead wrong.” She says, “I am here for my nation, and so are they.” The Stormtroopers cock their guns, standing their ground.

The girl raises her fist, then is enveloped in a cloud of magic. And when she comes out of it, she’s heavily armed, heavily armored, and twice as tall as you are. On her metallic gauntlets are machine guns, and her main weapon to bare is a mini 88 mm gun. Her eyes glow red with magical energy.

> MECHA MAGICAL GIRL TIGER! <

Schwarz runs off elsewhere, flanked by a Storm Elite, while the other four brandish their magically blessed machine guns.

The Panzer II traverses its turret at you, the 20mm autocannon primed and ready. Lightning looks at you, smiling as she usually does when its time to fight. “Let’s do this!”

You raise your shields and charge, Lightning running behind you. You feel the heavy rain of ordnance bouncing and deflecting off your shield.

You scream as you charge Mecha Magical Girl Tiger. She fires her 88mm gun at you, it blessed with magic of far greater capability than your own. You smack it out of the way, letting it impact on a wall. You spin your left hand shield, keeping your right hand up to deflect her machine gun fire. Soon, your left hand shield is glowing blue from intense heat, then you stop, wind back, and throw it like Cy Young.

The shield smacks right into Tiger, blowing her back into a wall. You look over briefly to see Lightning tearing up the Stormtroopers, slicing and dicing. The Panzer II fires at her, missing every shot as she hops and skips from place to place. Then it receives a finish in the form of a slash. A second passes, then the Panzer II splits in half, bursting into flames.

The Storm Elites charge Lightning, machine guns blazing. Lightning giggles a bit, smiling, then jumps at them.

You look back at Tiger, she’s recovered but is in a horrid state. Her 88mm gun is smoking, blood is upon her forehead, and there’s a visible fire on her shoulder. It doesn’t look like she’ll give up.

> Fight Mecha Magical Girl Tiger! (49+30=79)

You rush Magical Girl Tiger. She fires her 88mm gun again, blasting the ground in front of you. You blow through the smoke and the flames and then hit her with the rim of your shield, right in the gut. She doubles back, then goes to punch you with her right arm, which you block and slap away.

She growls, clocking you in the face with her free arm, then firing at you point blank with her machine guns. You get your shield up just in time for you to be blown back several yards. You taste some blood pooling in your mouth, then you spit it out.

You run at her again, yelling and then slamming the rim of your shield into her leg. She buckles, yelling in pain as you slam the flat end of your other shield into her face, sending her flying.

She screams in pain as her Mecha Magical transformation shatters in mid-air.

> MECHA MAGICAL GIRL TIGER! <
> DEFEATED! <

She lands on the ground, her clothes torn and her body smoking with dissipating magical energy. You stand over her, shields at the ready. She looks up at you, pained, tears in her eyes. You balk a little.

No. She’s just another Nazi.

> Spare her

You lower your shields and look her dead in the eye. She stares at you straight back. She knows what you’re giving her. She leans back and rests her head on the floor, shutting her eyes and sighing.

Lightning hops over, brandishing her naginata and an MG appropriated from a Storm Elite. She looks at you, then you shake your head.

“Oh, that’s boring,” says Lightning.

Well at least-

Wait. You look over at the Shard. Schwarz and his Storm Elite bodyguard has made a run for it. You reach out and say, “Wait!” as if he’ll listen to you.

Schwarz takes the Shard, cutting his hand, and yelping in pain as he drops it to the floor. It lands with nary a scratch. He looks at you, furious, then he blinks and looks at his wound. It’s no longer bleeding red, quite the opposite. It’s glowing blue. Suddenly, his fingers start hardening, crystallizing even. He yells in fright, trying to get it off, then it begins spreading, spreading. The both of you watch in horror as Schwarz, in under a minute, is consumed and crystallized into a blue being, with shining red eyes. He’s frozen in a state of panic, as if he reaching out for something.

The Storm Elite looks at him, then back at you. You brandish your weapons, and the Storm Elite cocks his gun, but is then is impaled through the back.

Schwarz’s arms have become veritable knives through his transformation. He lifts the Storm Elite up, then slices him in half, throwing his halves across the room. He screams at you in a whining mechanical roar.

You and Lightning charge. Lightning fires her MG, the bullets simply washing over Schwarz as he charges at you. Lightning skips ahead of you, throwing away her MG and gripping her naginata with both hands. She twirls it around as she closes in and then swipes it at Schwarz.

Schwarz grabs the blade, halting it in place. Lightning gasps a bit. “Impossible!”

“Lightning!” you yell as you push her out of the way. Your shield immediately takes the brunt of a Schwarz’s punch, which leaves visible scratches on your shield. That’s something you don’t see everyday. He punches again, knocking you across the room and into the wall. The breath is taken out of you as you land on the ground.

Lightning recovers, landing next to you. “You okay?”

“It’s nothing,” you say quickly. Schwarz lets a high-pitched shriek, which pierces your eardrums. He charges at you like some kind of wild animal, devoid of thought.

You run at Schwarz, yelling. You quickly bash him in the head with the flat of your shield then gutpunch him with the rim of your other in a one-two combo. Lightning jumps over and starts slashing and dicing at Schwarz, sending him grasping for some sort of defense. Lightning jumps back and then you re-enter, again punching him with the rims of your shields.

“Heads up!” yells Lightning. You crouch and bring your shields up. Lightning jumps onto them and blasts off and down onto Schwarz. Her blade impacts, slicing right into Schwarz’s head. She rips the blade out in one smooth motion, sending Schwarz barreling forward in confusion.

Now’s your chance.

You yell as you punch Schwarz in the face, then again, then again, and again, and finally until he’s sent flying backwards into a wall. He stands there, dazed and roaring in confusion. You run up to him and throw your left shield down, letting it spin towards him. You hop onto it, letting it speed you all the way there.

You wind your right arm back and let your shield start spinning, and spinning harder until it glows white from the heat.

> SPECIAL MOVE!: LIBERTY BASH!

You scream as you throw your arm forward, then point blank punch him.

The walls shake and rumble as you blast Schwarz’s head apart. Your shield is where it used to be. The rest of his body, no longer glowing blue, falls forward, then shatters into a million pieces on impact.

> ATLANTEAN GOLEM! <
> DEFEATED! <

You pull your shield out, with some difficulty. You sigh, shaking your head and letting it all process. Lightning laughs as she claps. “Damn!” she yells. You smile a little. Typical mercs.

You look around. Tiger has gone, left to escape. You walk over to the shard, seeing it sparkle and glow. You pick it up, and feel it instantly rejuvenate and refresh you. You quickly drop it in surprise. Lightning asks you, “What?”

You shake your head, then pick it back up again. “Nothing. Let’s get out of here, quick.”

The two of you rush out of the temple. You stop outside and see the Nazis start scattering and running for the hills, no longer with the energy to fight you. They’ve chosen to brave Skull Island rather than face the two of you. You hear the sound of beating rotors. You look up to the sky and see him.

“Liberty! Lightning! Hop on!” It’s Operator #5 in his Ford Hoplite autogyro. He’s opened the door up for you as he lowers the autogyro down. Lightning hops in first, then you do as well. You quickly make yourselves comfy as the autogyro blasts out of the Jungle and away from Skull Island.

“Hell of a thing!” yells Operator #5 as he pilots the autogyro. It’s a bit cramped in the passenger compartment but hell, you’ll take it.

“Thanks for the lift, Operator #5!” you say.

Operator #5 says, “Don’t mention it. Just assisting a fellow servant of the good old US of A. You have the artifact?”

You nod, holding it your hands, watching it as it glows. “Yep! We got it. We had to kill Schwarz to get it but we got it. It was a real mess!”

Lightning chuckles. “It was a bit of a screwup, but I think we got it done nicely!”

“That’s good, very good!” says Operator #5. “Uh, there’s a lockbox under your seat, Liberty. Go ahead and put it in there. We’ll send it off to some top men to confirm it.”

You ask, “Who?”

Operator #5 says, “Top. Men.”

You shrug, then place the Shard snugly in the lockbox, safe and sound and away from Hitler’s hands. You sigh, leaning back. Lightning’s already asleep. Of course. Still, it’s been a while since you got some rest. You might as well do it to.

You shut your eyes, and head to sleep.

That's it for today's surprise continuation of Magical Girl Liberty.
