The inside of the royal palace of the city-state of Tianna is filled with the thick smoke left by the Abyssals' jetpack-toting skeletons. Fortunately, the structure itself doesn't seem to be actually on fire, or compromised, and despite the damage the fortress still stands solid.

Where there's smoke, there's undead, of course: several more skeletons are patrolling the now-deserted halls of the castle. However, they are no match for your newly-discovered power: any of them that moves too close to you and your rag-tag bunch of city guard and armed citizenry seems to spontaneously come apart at the seams and combust in a flash of white fire.
This also has the added benefit of providing your improvised militia with some more much-needed weapons as they eagerly loot the fallen skeletons.

...You still have the feeling that facing Feurdelis isn't going to be that easy.
Ahead, from the throne room, you can hear the sound of battle, loud and clear. Then, a terrifying slamming noise, and silence.

As you and your men rush through the corridor and past the broken oaken doors, you find out what's happening.

The throne room is completely wrecked. The marble floor, the columns, even the ceiling in some places, have been shattered, filling the large hall with stone rubble.

"Now." Feurdelis stands haughtily in the centre of the room. "Are you going to sign your surrender?" She says, grinding a beaten-down woman in an ornate white and blue armored dress beneath her heels. She is struggling to reach a glowing ice-blue blade, fallen just beyond her reach. A few other bodies lie scattered around the room.

"The queen!" "Your highness...!" Your followers begin to murmur, obviously distressed.

What will you do? (Cont.)

I don't think you mentioned it in the first thread - how quickly does essence regenerate? Is stunting still a thing?

For everybody who's tuning in just now: the first thread.

You just have 5 Essence, maximum. You're not to gain a full point with just any stunt. But you will regain one point via truly vast amounts of awesome.
>>
>>30387370
So, basically, we'll only run out of essence when it'd make the story better?

Or is it possible (likely?) we can spend ourselves into nothing
>>

> Help the people lying in the rubble back to their feet.

Objective is to try and get her attention away from the queen, while ordering some of our men to do the helping/looting. Also helps to spread out our followers if we later decide to circle her.
>>

Running out of easence is a thing, this is why we're tracking it.

Our militia/rag tag band of heroes count-as Extras.

Abyssals have like a bajillion way to murder the SHIT outta Extras. I'm not having them surround her just to get murdered by negative energy is the way to go.

"HOLD IT!"

Feurdelis lifts her eyes from the woman she was busily grinding on. There are a few traces of struggle on her, small cuts and bruises on her gothic clothes, but her face is as pale and doll-like as it was when you first saw her. She slowly, deliberately turns in your direction, as the queen slowly contorts under her heels.

"...you again. Who the heck are you, anyway?"

You could give her your real name and lineage, or a nickname or title you would like to be known of from now on.

That's really not true, canonically, but it totally can be in your version of Creation. By the time you're half-way up the East, people are starting to get lily white, and the North is overloaded with folks who are literally snow white. But if your Creation is a browner one, I'm pleased by that.

Maka just seems cliche to me. Not voting against it, but it isn't my preference unless we're using Soul Eater based setting. I don't know, you want to start dumping points into using a scythe? So, to recap from the last thread, I want to spend our remaining four character creation power slots on the following:
>Solar Hero Form. Be a badass mcpuncherson.
>Iron Kettle Body Technique. Have skin like armor.
>Strength-Enhancing Exercise. Get superstrength, superjumps, and so forth.
>Husband-Seducing Demon Dance. Recruit people into following us like the Pied Piper, buff them as long as we command them.

That would give us 3/5 Zenith Abilities (CoD-banishing, tough as fuck, Performance/leadership) and 2/5 other Abilities (Martial Arts and Athletics).
>>

Honestly, don't worry about PC pictures. NPC images could be useful just so we have an idea of who we're talking to without the addition of purple prose to your posts, but we all have an idea of what the MC looks like already so we can just use our imaginations if it comes to it.

Man, I'm just naming it for its effect. The charms in this quest are way broader than that; this would be equal parts Performance, War, and Bureaucracy that makes us an ideal leader, the type of person people follow naturally and gain benefits for doing so.
>>
>>30388034

Names carry more weight when granted by others. Start small and let other people add "the Great".

Maka is fine, but I don't vote for anything in particular.

>>30389711
An interesting set-up, but let's see what happens and try to stay flexible. I like it though.
>>
>>30389747
That's always been a thing. IIRC it was always meant to be ambiguous if the charm works because we're so naturally amazing or it works because it's straight up brainwashing.
>>
>>30389816
>An interesting set-up, but let's see what happens and try to stay flexible. I like it though.
Right, right. It's just that we've already displayed that particular charm-use related to Athletics, Resistance, and Performance, so I would like if those actions we took continued to have a formative influence on us. And Solar Hero is just because people seem interested in unarmed martial arts, and there's nothing more iconic than that.

You raise your clenched fist, pointed towards Feurdelis, as a golden brilliance begins to bloom around it. Your castemark springs back to life, parting the fog and smoke hanging around the room.
"I am Maka."
Her lips curl in a grin. "How stylish. Maka? No family or clan? Did you just make that up?"
"Oh, you have no idea." You can't help but reply.
With a sigh, she steps down from the queen and slowly approaches you, as a dark shadow gathers about her, growing thicker with each step. "...I guess not."
You silently notice your men pulling people out of the rubble and dragging them to (relative) safety behind you.
When you bring your eyes back to face Feurdelis, rubble around her explodes upwards as she kicks towards you with amazing speed, cover the dozen meters between you in a single leap.

Having Abyssal connections would allow us to use the underworld more safely and opens up a lot of resources (potentially).

>>

>this particular Abyssal seems too violent

Bold assumption considering all we know of her is that she's a little ditzy and likes explosions.

Though I suppose I should expect /tg/ to make leaps in logic to justify their irrational desire to maim everyone even when it's unnecessary.
>>
>>30390907
Her male partner said she was foolish and overly aggressive.
>>
>>30390921

No, his only exposition on her was.

>Unfortunately, Feurdelis is... different. She's more... well, she loves explosions, let's say."

Along with her character defining moment of being a ditz after she said she wouldn't harm the city right after smashing through the towns wall.

Nothing here says we have to kill or maim her to get her to listen to us.
>>
>>30390907

The other guy (Abyssal? Lunar Mate?) implied that the violence of the attack was linked to Fleurdelis. He might be lying, but skeletons attacking people = violent isn't much of a leap in logic.

Also "ACCEPT SURRENDER" while grinding your foot into someone hints at a violent personality.

The guy's name is Phoenix and as we've already established Feurdelis is the slightly absentminded but straightforward type.

There's no indication that she has the Blood Knight tendencies that would make her fight us to the death "just because".

We might have to show her that we're strong, but that is entirely different from trying to actually kill her.
>>

Shes an abyssal conquering a town...
How would you do it?
She -could- have painted the room with the queens blood, or worse.
Nothing shes done makes her full on axe crazy psycho abbysal.
>>
(From now on roll 1d10 when suggesting rollworthy actions)

Her flying axe kick connects simultaneously with both your wrists as you bring them up to intercept the blow. The impact drives both your feet into the marble-tile floor up to the ankle, exploding an intricate webwork of cracks centered on you.

Reeling from the terrifying pain in your arms, you briefly consider that, even accounting for how sturdy you've apparently become, that blow would have probably jammed your head down deep into your torso.

Seizing the opportunity and casting fear aside, you grab her leg and slam her down into the already-shattered floor, further wrecking the throne room. She briefly struggles and almost escapes your grasp, as you try to pin her to the ground. After a few seconds of clinching and twisting in the rubble, you manage to lock one of her arms behind her back, and with both your legs wrap around one of hers.

"You should leave Tianna." You whisper in Fleurdelis' ear as you painfully pull and turn her upper and lower body in two different directions. She slams her free arm around, tryng to take control of the hold, but with no success. "I think you've overstayed your welcome."

Exploiting the opening, your men rush in the room and four of them, after a moment of hesitation, attempt to help the queen back to her feet, but as they realize that she cannot stand on her own, they carefully lift her up, with a fifth man dragging her ice-blue blade, and carry her out of your field of view.

"I... don't... think... so!" Fleurdelis growls, grinding her teeth with a screeching sound. Her weight seems to suddenly shift around her body in a completely unexplained manner, and several spears of contorted bone pierce through her skin, suddenly jutting outwards!

Two of them skewer you from side to side, one in the lower abdomen, the other through your left thigh.

You're not sure yourself if your following scream comes more from pain, from surprise, or from disgust, but while you briefly lose your grasp, she breaks free of your clinch, tosses you into the decapitated stump of a broken column (pulverizing it in the process), and stands back up.

The sight of the half-dozen bone spears cracking and popping and snaking their way back in her body is unsettling to say the least...

...but you can tell that your previous clinch must have been quite painful to her too: her clothes are torn here and there, and her pure-white skin is all black and blue in spots.

Well, as for you, you have to put a bit of effort in standing back up. You feel blood trickling down your body and soaking your clothes, and the pain is numbing.

"You missed a detail, Maka!" She shouts at you, grabbing a broken piece of a column and lifting it above her head almost effortlessly, clearly intending to brain you in the head with it. "This city is MINE now! I conquered it, fair and square! So I AM THE ONE WHO-"

A terrifying *WHACK* noise interrupts her, echoing throughout the room, and her chest explodes in a shower of liquid fire.

The flaming display blinds you for a second, but generates no smoke at all, and once it clears out, you see a very confused Fleurdelis standing back up, after being thrown to the ground by the force of the impact. Her clothes are on fire, but she doesn't seem to worry about it so much: what's clearly bothering her is the arrow clearly jutting out from her chest, which is also on fire.

You spin your head aside, struggling to keep your balance, and you notice one of the people your men extracted from the rubble, wielding a militia longbow, kneeling down on a pile of rubble.

"You're just an invader." He sneers, tossing the bow aside and drawing a long blade from his belt. He's clearly wounded, covered in blood, but with still some fight in him.

He's a Heroic Mortal at the least, considering he survived the rubble and got a good shot in on an Exalt.

He might be about to Exalt himself, if there's another shard around.

If this kingdom is a satrapy, he might be a Fire Aspect representing the Realm.

If it ISN'T a satrapy, he might be an Outcaste Fire Aspect the kingdom has hired to help defend it.

This guy is pretty clearly being set up as a useful ally for us if he makes it out aive and we respect the queen's authority and dominion over her realm. If we start throwing our Solar weight around and demand that they bow to us as their rightful god-queen he's likely to turn on us as soon as the Abyssal is dealt with.

Help the guy out, respect their sovereignty, get them in our debt.

We can build our own kingdom later with our own two hands.

>>
>>30391567
>If we're good maybe shell give us a quest!
Firstly, we're likely here under the queen's hospitality.

Second, we should be building our own nation, not stealing someone else's.

Third, that nation could use some damn allies and trade partners, and this citystate would probably be a good one.

Fourth, we're freshly exalted, more caught up in the moment than considering ambitions of future power.

>>
>>30391725
>Thinks we're going to make a nation without taking something from someone else.
This is actually how Solars work. When I said "build our own kingdom with our own two hands" I meant that literally. We can physically build an entire city-state with our bare hands, and populate it with Zenith powers.

We just have to wander off into the Southern desert and pick an empty spot that lookd good. Or pick an unclaimed Western island. Or a spot in the East. Or wherever.
>>
>>30391749
now, see, that's the kind of thinking that gets Solars run out of town and/or brutally murdered
>>
>>30391509
(All combat actions are, generally)

Picking up speed, you match the speed of the wounded warrior's charge. His blade traces an arc through the air, leaving a trail of fire that connects squarely, edge-first, with Fleurdelis' forearm, brought up just in time to block him.

Against all possible common sense, in the frontal clash between bare arm and steel longsword, the blade breaks in two, and the point spins and painfully hits Fleurdelis' stomach, before bouncing off it and into the ground.

A large cut and burn mark is evident on her arm, nonetheless.

"You miserable-" Her next line is promptly interrupted by your uppercut. A comet of golden light slams into her jaw from an optimal angle, with all the force of your charge behind it.

The abyssal is lifted off her feet and sent spiralling through the air in a perfect arc. She slams down head-first, opening a small crater in the stone floor where she impacts, producing a crunching noise, followed by the slam of the rest of her body hitting the ground.

As soon as the noise stops, the warrior turns half-aside, calling to someone you can't see: "Irene...?"

Just when you had begun to relax, and feel like finally this wreck of a fight is over, you see her slowly stand up back to her feet, bloodied, battered, broken arrow still half-sticking out of her chest, her clothes basically burned to shreds.

"Yooooouuu..."

On her forehead, a perfect round circle glows midnight black, as her dark aura drops her half of the throne room into a malicious darkness. Shadows and nightmares.

"...Irene?" The man asks again. "Now would be a good time..."

"Done!" A young woman's voice calls out from behind you, in the distance.

Before you manage to avert your eyes from Fleurdelis to check what the heck is happening on the other side of the chamber, the red-haired warrior walks up to you and pushes you aside. "Look out!"

>Ask him what's happening
>Duck for cover
>Strike back at him

You and the red-haired warrior fall to the ground just in time to avoid a large, white beam of light erupting through the room.

It's not instantaneous, but it propagates with the speed of lightning and the loud, violent, deep noise of a mass of air being shocked and displaced.

The blast hits the already-wounded Fleurdelis square-on, and the shockwave - that even you, standing about twenty meters away, can distinctly feel - propels her... away.

Away from the blast, the light, and you two, and towards the far wall of the room. Towards, into, and straight through it.
Then into the next room (a girly-looking bedroom with pastel-colored blankets and pillow covers on the canopy bed, and several plush animal dolls), though it, through the next wall, past a corridor, across the servant's quarters, then the kitchens, and finally beyond the outer walls. She finally stops in the outside garden.

"...OF COURSE it was my room."

The blast came from a white-armored girl whose suit seems about as much decoration as it is protection - without compromising the effectiveness of one for the other, you notice. She's decked out with a long lance and an ornate sword hanging by her belt, as well as a golden crown, but even this sort of fancy yet protective getup is badly battered and broken after what must have been one long and bloody fight.

...Actually, to be more precise, that blast came (apparently) from the large contraption installed on the ground near her. It seems like some sort of siege weapon, with an excessively long tube of thick metal jutting out of a block of elaborate machinery. pipes, tubes, wires, gems and crystals, and circuits etched in differently-colored metals make up most of it. The tip of the tube is rimmed with an array of pale-white gemstones whose light is slowly fading. The contraption is mounted on a wheeled, wooden structure, reminding you of a catapult or ballista.

Around it, four soldiers of the city guard sporting white cloaks (which the other soldiers didn't seem to have) are operating the machine, extracting and replacing gems and bits of metal and changing the way wires and tubes are connected to each other in some sort of well-rehearsed drill. One of them, a book in hand, is giving instructions to the other three.

"...Still, nice shot, men." She finally acknowledges. "With this, we finally routed the vile... damn."

Looking through the tunnel she just blasted through her own castle, out in the garden, you can see Fleurdelis standing up.

"...You're going to pay for this. You're ALL going to pay."

From outside of your field of view (rather narrow, since it's restricted by the "tunnel"), cautiously walks in Phoenix. "...Later, okay? Later, Fleurdelis."

"WE'LL BE BACK!" She... she actually looks like she's about to cry, her voice cracking.

"Of course we'll be back." He grabs her hand and pulls her around and then pushes her away from your sight. Before disappearing behind the corner, he flashes one last glance at you. He mimes the gesture of writing something in mid-air, imaginary quill in hand, while winking, and he silently mouths: "I'll write you!"

[Exaltation chargen: Power "Solar Hero Style": 1 essence. When fighting unarmed, with armored gauntlets, or with improvised weapons, add +3 to all combat rolls.]

"...What the heck just happened?" The red-haired fighter is probably the most confused of the bunch. He keeps staring at the hole in the wall, in a daze. The fact that he apparently lost a lot of blood during the fight doesn't help him, either.

"Forget about them!" You reply, scrambling back to your feet and rushing towards the formation of soldiers that took shelter behind a wall of rubble. "How's the queen? She was wounded pretty badly when I saw her..."

She's currently being tended by the militiamen around her, who are giving her water and cleaning her wounds. One of them, carrying a battlefield apothecary's bag, is applying some star-shaped leaves to her bruises, and then wrapping them in water-soaked bandages.

And she is COVERED in bruises. One eye is also bandaged closed, apparently horribly swollen, and she is soaked in her own blood, mostly lost from, it seems, nose and mouth.
Her right arm is bent at an angle that makes you cringe just by looking at it, and another soldier is carefully trying to set it back straight, as is her left leg. Overall, considering that that abyssal seemed perfectly able to slam people through half a meter of solid stone with a single arm, you' admit that it's amazing she's aliv, and even conscious.

Her only open eye rolls over to look at you. It takes her a moment to register your presence

Her injuries, though terrible, don't seem particularly life-threatening right now. Of course, she could have all sorts of internal bleeding going on, for all you know.

"Aren't there any medics around here?!" You ask the soldiers. They're clearly trained in at least the basics of first aid, but you suspect that she might have some serious internal bleeding which is clearly beyond their reach.

When the soldiers hesitate in answering you, you decide to make things clearer. "You!" You point at a random soldier that doesn't seem like he's doing anything useful. Shortish, dark-skinned, locks of light brown hair peeking from under his bit-too-large-for-him helmet and a glaive in hand, looking worried.

"...Who, me?" He points at himself.

"Yes, you! Go get the royal physician or someone who knows medicine beyond the couple lessons in first aid they teach you at boot camp!"

Even though you're not his superior officer, he snaps at attention, nervously, and runs away. You're about to get down to business reorganizing the situation here (while, in the background, you hear Irene ordering the cannon instantly moved to the rooftop, organizing a patrol sweep, and rallying the defenses), when the Queen grabs a corner of your dress to catch your attention.

As you look down at her, you meet her single, deep blue eye looking back at you.

There's a style called Citrine Poxes of Contagion Style. It's a Sidereal style, which means it has requirements so high that Sidereals can hardly ever qualify for it, let alone Solars without a teacher. It is THE style about using Martial Arts to add/remove illness/injury from people.
>>
>>30393429
>>She already knows me, but nothing more. She knows of my lineage, homeland and exile, and I am her guest here in Tianna.

Hum, something close enough to the truth that it isn't inconsistent with our character. Minor nobility with martial training, clearly, traveling incognito. Do not connect us with our family at home since we don't want the realm snooping in that direction.
>>
>>30393620
If you people can make up a "cover story" and sort of agree about it i'll go with that, otherwise I'll make up something myself.
Provided the votes are in favor of a cover story choice.
>>
>>30393429
>She doesn't know who I am, I should feed her a cover story.
>>
>>30393702
I'm 100% against a cover story or lying to the queen. It's a really dumb idea.
>>
>>30393697
I'm down with this.

It's probably not possible to hide the Solar thing now, is it?
>>
>>30393702
Wandering warrior looking for work or a worthy cause?
>>
>>30393697
No, that's really dumb. Royalty ending up in exile isn't exactly something hard to find out about, we're clearly from the South, and we blew any chance at not being outed as a Solar last thread. IF we have any family left in our homeland - which we probably don't since, again, exile - they WILL be in danger. All lying does is potentially disenfranchise this potential ally.

>>30393759
We're a goddamn Solar. Pretending to be an ordinary person is pointless now.
>>
>>30393429
>>She already knows me, we're in good standing with each other. She knows of my lineage, homeland and exile, and I am her guest here in Tianna.

>>
>>30393774
We just exalted. Pretending we had plans and motivations before we suddenly Solar is suspect why exactly?
>>
>>30393659
Yeah, I'm on board for that. Feeding the queen a cover story is just pointless.
>>
>>30393429
>She doesn't know who I am. I should feed her a cover story.
+1 for mysterious stranger with a dark and tortured past.
>>
>>30393823
Because we're outed as fuck. Our history of royalty and exile is frankly irrelevant in the face of being a known anathema.
>>
>>30393429
I like the option where we're her guests, since we are exiled royalty, after all. If we were a criminal or something, then a cover story would make sense. We're not, though.
>>
>>30393850
So, you're saying that our home and family are already going to be targeted? Well, I guess I know where we're headed next.
>>
>>30393850
We're half a world away from home. Yes, yes, Sidereals blah blah blah, but honestly don't you think it's possible that no one here might recognize a distant royals from an obscure branch family? One already stricken from the family ledgers?
>>
>>30393870
No, I'm saying we're an EXILED ROYAL. Our family is either scattered or dead, and our home is usurped and distant. We just plain don't have relevant ties to protect by hiding our identity, and even if we did, exiled royal families are the sort of thing that makes the political grape vine, and it would not be hard to put two and two together when it comes to a mysterious southerner with royal airs showing up and saving an entire damn citystate right in front of its queen.

Any chance at actually having a cover story went out the window the moment we decided to save the city in front of the queen and bring a damn audience along for the ride.
>>
>>30393903
>royal
Royalty doesn't have 'branch families' or 'stricken from the ledgers.' We aren't some minor noble. We're royalty. Even if we're just from some pissant citystate, we're still exile royalty from an entire bloody citystate.
>>
>>30393909
What part of exiled implies family death? Could easily just be a rite of passage or internal dispute (we have the wrong father and thus were screwed out of our inheritance). Plenty of legitimate back stories we could have which leave our mother on the throne and our home at peace.
>>
>>30393429
>>She already knows me, we're in good standing with each other. She knows of my lineage, homeland and exile, and I am her guest here in Tianna.
This one, please.
>>
>>30393926
Do you have any idea how many descendants the Scarlet Empress has?
>>
>>30393945
>we have the wrong father and thus were screwed out of our inheritance
Then we wouldn't be royalty.

When royalty gets exiled, it means that there was an usurpation. That means that us and anyone loyal to us would be gone too - dead or similarly banished.
>>
>>30393961
And all of them are nobles, not royals, because she specifically excluded anyone from having a claim on the throne. They're the Great Noble Houses, after all, not the Great Royal Houses.
>>
>>30393429
>She doesn't know who I am, but I have no objection to telling her my story. Over dinner.
Can we just fucking compromise and move on?
>>
>>30393967
>Mom decides we are not her legal heir and decides to kick us out to prevent the kingdom breaking into factions.
Your imagination is weak.
>>
>>30393997
No, it's pretty much going to take QM arbitration. One side wants us to already be a welcome guest, and the other side wants us to be a mysterious stranger. They're mutually exclusive, with no real way of compromise.
>>
>>30394035
She would also have had to have kicked out everyone loyal to this no-longer-heir if she wanted to prevent factionalization. Do you just have no clue how succession struggles work? When royalty gets exiled, that's a BIG FUCKING DEAL and entire families and political blocs get killed or exiled in the process. If we have family left in our homeland, they're sure as fuck not loyal to us in any way - which means they're not really family anymore.
>>
>>30394049
Well shit.

>>30393429
Still supporting mysterious stranger then.
>>
>>30394077
You know what, I could continue but it's no longer fun. We can just agree our family is disfunctional and should be killed on sight then.
>>
>>30393429
>>She doesn't know who I am, but I have no objections telling her my story.
>>
>>30393429
Why would we be anonymous? We would surely have introduced ourselves already, if not have been invited in the first place. Sure, it might be better in retrospect to have a cover story now that we're anathema, but that probably wasn't a consideration back when we first arrived in the city.
>>
>>30393429
>>She already knows me, we're in good standing with each other. She doesn't know of my lineage: I have a cover story.

Going with known so we already have a way to get into her pants later on.
>>
>>30394113
Any that weren't banished with us are surely mortal enemies of some kind or another, yes. And since we don't have an entourage, that means probably all of our living relatives.

These three are my favourite. Cover stories and lying don't seem like they would actually help us at all.
>>
>>30394186
So, you're saying that we don't want our family, any that might still be in power, to know where we are? I wonder what kind of a price or favor that information might be worth?
>>
>>30394218
No, it's fine for them to know where we are now. We're a goddamn Solar. If we aren't her guest already, there's still no need to lie now. And if we were her guests, it would be better he knowing and able to give us political protection than lying to her and risking making an enemy.

No matter which way to cut it, a cover story does more to harm us than protect us.
>>
>>30393429
>She doesn't know who I am, but I have no objection to telling her my story.

Something something trauma and glowing like a super saiyan

Shit's confusing, yo.
>>
>>30394253
...what about /before/ we became a solar. Look, our exaltation didn't happen in a vacuum. If we have a backstory we must have been doing things and had motivations before we suddenly became a lawgiver. Why would you cheapen our character by ignoring that?
>>
>>30394298
All of them? Really?
>>
>>30394330
I was talking about before we became a Solar. Before becoming one, we had a lot more to lose by making an enemy of our host than we did letting her know who we were in an effort to get protection. On the other hand, if we hadn't been introduced yet at all, we stand to lose nothing be introducing ourselves honestly and without a cover story.

Regardless of whether we were her guest or are meeting her for the first time now, a cover story either was before or is now more destructive and dangerous than honesty.
>>
>>30394356
Hey man, it's Exalted. There are plants whose sap is 2pac, either him literally or just busting sick rhymes. Probably both kinds. Wyld is a helluva drug.

And then there's a 2pac who's made of sap.

They pollinate each other.

I don't fucking know, man. Maybe Maka looks hella different dressed up vs. dressed down?
>>
>>30394369
I see. I think our disagreement rests on the fact that I doubt we were worth enough to actually warrant her protection. I don't expect administrators to deal with strays in good faith. What did we offer her for her protection?
>>
(This was contentious. It seems option 1 is favored, closely followed by option 6. I'll go with a compromise: the queen knows, to everyone else we're a mysterious stranger)

"...Maka...?" She mumbles weakly. "What... what happened to you?"

You realize that your Castemark must still be visible, although fading.

"...You... you're still Maka, right?..." She then asks, weakly.

You grab her hand and gently squeeze it. "...Yes, Amata. I... I'm alright. Don't worry. Just get better."

Th rush of adrenaline quickly fades, the aura glowing around you disappears, and now you feel once more lone and powerless against the pain and suffering of one who has been, to you, a good friend.

"I brought the physician!" You hear the soldier screaming, rushing towards the queen while dragging an elderly man, white-bearded and clad in a long blue kimono, across the rubble.

"...How are my kids?" Queen Amata asks.

You glance around, taking in the situation.

"Irene is rallying the guard. They're lugging around some kind of magical cannon to the southwestern tower, in case more trouble is on its way. Samiel... fainted, it seems. Looks like he took a beating too."

"Please, can you check on him?" Are her last words before her strength finally fails her and she slips into unconsciousness, just as the medic arrives.

I can't guarantee when next thread is going to be. I am going to try and get one running tomorrow. Sunday is definitely out, however.

Current character sheet:

>Physical 2 - Social 2 - Mental 1
>Dawn 2 - Zenith 3 - Twilight 1 - Night 2 - Eclipse 2
>Health 4/5 - Essence 4/5
>Power: Banish the Darkness (1 Ess) Destroys all undead extras in the scene.
>Power: Solar Hero Style (1 Ess) When fighting unarmed, with armored gauntlets, or with improvised weapons, add +3 to all combat rolls. Lasts one scene.

Any questions?
>>
>>30394499
>the queen knows, to everyone else we're a mysterious stranger
That seems like a good compromise. Thanks for the session.
>>
>>30394499
Eh, so long as her knowing is relevant and has the potential to backstabbing us I'm good.

Enjoyed the session dispute the spat we players had at the end here.

Also, has the queen been bedding us?

I don't see why not.
>>
>>30394592
>Still unallocated: 3 stat points, 2 skill points, 4 powers.

>>
>>30394633
>Can we punch a person fifty feet straight up with Solar Hero Style, or do we also need other charms for that?
Of course you can. But you can get additional charms to go into full Team Rocket territory.
>>
>>30394649
We could. But they're allocated according to the choices we make in play. So, we'll see.

Anyway, I'm just hoping we pick up an armored body charm, a super-strength charm, and a charm that makes us an idealized leader, insofar as attracting followers and commanding them for better efficiency and competence. After all, we've already done each of those to some extent, even before this thread's big wrestling match.
>>
>>30394649
>Since we have points unallocated, can we make it Physical 3/Social 3/Mental 2?

>>30394700
Oh. That's actually really cool.
>>
>>30394638
So...who's mouth goes where?
>>
>>30394806
We'll find out if and when we vote on whether we've actually been boinking the queen, I assume.

>>30394592
Since we are the queen's guests, do we know what type of exalt she is, and whether Tianna is a satrapy?
>>
>>30394846
I don't think the queen is an exalt, seeing how surprised she was that Maka was glowing.
>>
>>30394998
She was using a Blue Jade Daiklave. She's almost certainly Dragonblooded. I'm just wonder if we know whether or not she's Air Aspect, and what powers she might be known to use.
>>
>>30394846

Queen Amata Tai Tianna is an Air Aspect. She's what the Realm would call a Lost Egg. You don't know much of her backstory.
She is married, but her husband, an Ahkim Sileid, is not a public figure. He is seldom seen around. Rumors concerning him are abundant, as a consequence.
They have five children, two of which, Princess Irene and Prince Samiel, are Exalted, respectively as Earth and Fire aspects.
Tianna is not a satrapy, wherever it is. They're on fairly neutral relations with the Realm.
>>
>>30394998
I think that was more "surprise that SHE'S an exalt," not so much that exaltation itself is foreign.

I'm calling deep cover Sidereal plant under a resplendent destiny
>>
>>30394499
>"...You... you're still Maka, right?..." She then asks, weakly.
Question: How strong is Realm dominance in this kingdom? How deep does the Immaculate faith run?
>>
>>30395061
>She's what the Realm would call a Lost Egg.
Is she a Found Egg?
>>
>>30395074
>Question: How strong is Realm dominance in this kingdom? How deep does the Immaculate faith run?

Tianna has no major religion. Several faiths and cults are represented and have followers, but with no one being dominant.
The Immaculate Faith is one of those.
>>
>>30395061
Hmmm... Alright. Are her non-exalted children notable in any way? Since the queen is exalted, how old is she? Has her bloodline ruled the city long? Have exaltations always run in her family?

Or are we not to clear on all that?
>>
>>30395105
No, she's just outside the Realm hierarchy.

I wonder if we'll end up next to Lookshy. That'd add an awkward dynamic to everything.
>>
>>30395200
I'm personally hoping for Scavenger Lands, but that could still put us a thousand or more miles away from Lookshy.
>>
>>30395218
I'd like Great Forks, I think.

I wanna get chummy sexual with some gods, and those Great Forks guys don't fuck around.

Time to get on the good sides of some local weather gods.
>>
>>30395194
>Are her non-exalted children notable in any way?
They are all part of their mother's court. One is a bureaucrat, one a thaumaturge, one the priestess for Tianna's city god.

>Since the queen is exalted, how old is she?
Older than she looks. At the very least 80, possibly more.

>Has her bloodline ruled the city long?
You think so, but you did not have the time to do any research into it.

>Have exaltations always run in her family?
You don't know, but given that two of her five children have exalted, she seems to have a fairly strong bloodline.

>>
>>30395895
There's a solar charm for getting a senate to behave and play nicely with each other

That same charm will probably apply to boy/girl/etc-friends too.
>>
>>30395182
Well, this means the locals probably won't think we're suddenly a meatsuit being worn by a horrible demon.
>>
>>30396181
Probably. But Amata seems reasonable, so it seems we're safe-ish.

Depends on how hawkish the local satraps are, though, in addition to where we are geographically.
>>
>>30396181
Some won't. Some will.

>>30395769
Depends on your choices. I don't have anything laid out or planned ahead for now, since I still don't know a lot of things about the PC myself. This could end up being an epic adventure that brings you all around Creation, a personal quest where you try and raise allies and support and then reconquer your rightful kingdom, a war against this nefarious Deathlord with mysterious aims, or an empire-building game centered uniquely on Tianna or even another city that has not yet appeared. And for any of these choices there could be a lot of downtime or none at all.

Also: you are an Exalted now. And a Zenith to boot. If that list isn't at least a page long, you're doing something wrong.
>>
>>30396181
They probably will, actually. Even in areas where the Immaculate Faith doesn't dominate, a lot of its tenets are just sort of accepted as fact.
>>
>>30396323
There are going to be lines like we're running a soup kitchen and homeless shelter.

It'll be amazing if we have the time for anything else.
