Serpentfolk: too much like lizards, and too much like frogs

Bullywug: could use some tweaks, since noone ever discussed it, and it's a tossup between frog people and crustaceans. Also I think Aurovan is a better name, but that's just me.

Yeti: we already have trolls, and I'm already against giants. Let's not have a third big burly race.
>>
>>30431344
Well two of them are literally just lizardfolk and the other was just troll again.

the moon was more of a joke

What do you guys think of Crystalids? Nobody really had comments for it, and I'm worried that it'll be too hard to run for an GM.
>>
You've been... moved.
Some fellow who called himself a Trickster God named Lowke... Looki... something, decided to see how a bunch of Giants would fare if thrown on a mountain, with a couple of goats to keep 'em alive, just for shits 'n giggles,

So, now, there's a bunch of you, somewhere on a high, cold mountaintop with some goats.

How are you going to survive?

Quick thing, this just my way of playing, but I find Civ games most entertaining if everyone chooses a random seperate Civ member, names him, gives him a profession and some fluff, then form the ruling council. Not neccesarry, but highly amusing.

>>30431554
With that attitude, nothing's fun. Giants aren't my favourite race either, but I've never done em before, so I'll give them a chance. It might be awesome, so just give it a shot.
>>
>>30431595
Alright boys, we're in a real pickle here but I say we make the best of what we have, let's find some rocks and make a pen for our goats
>>
>>30431595
We should find a nice plateau to settle on, and make an altar that is the religious equivalent of NOT COOL LOWKE

>circumcision ainvtal
err, captcha wants us to circumcise ourselves to flip-off Loki?
>>
>>30431591
They look highly amusing, and if you play it well, you'll be fine. I really hope to GM them someday.
>>
Rolled 41

>>30431595
For survival... Making shelter in such cold environments is key. Try and find some caves before nightfall.
>>
>>30431623
seconding
>>30431554
I agree
bud.
>>30431591
Need to see it in action the only games i've played with the new set are a shroom and a demon but in the mana wastes
>>
>>30431591
im down. ill also do giants if that is the consensus
>>
>>30431639
id also be interested in doing a shroom.
>>
>>30431701
I think plenty of people are interested in doing shrooms.

We switched to Myconids/Mycaena for a reason.
>>
>>30431701
Did that once, was awesome.
So, you're going for the goat pen?
Keep in mind that this high up there's little to no vegitation,
>>
>>30431701
another time! we just got thrown onto a mountain soldier!

let's keep these goats healthy and punch that stupid louki in the face!
>>
Rolled 26

>>30431722
I suggest looking for caves to take shelter in, leaving someone to keep track of the goats. An-... How many giants do we have?
>>
>>30431722
Well, mountain goats are incredibly good at surviving. Don't think that holds when they're locked up though.

Can we grow mushrooms on a mountain?
>>
>>30431737
After a quick headcount, you learn that there are ten Giants and twenty-five Goats.
>>30431739
Hmmm... not outside, it's too cold, but in caves it'd probably work. You'll have to research Farmign and finds some 'shrooms to start said farms with, though.
By the way, how do you name your Clan/Tribe/Whatever social structure Giants have?
>>
>>30431771
damned if I know. I'm beginning to realize just how bland Giants are. They're always in the background, and it's hard to imagine what they do as a group.

Let's call it...Looki.
>>
>>30431771
Lostboys

the confused mountain brigade
also lets work on that pen!
>>
Rolled 33

>>30431771
I suggest leaving the naming of the tribe up to the victor of a sumo wrestling match... That would probably be better held off a mountain with tall pointy rocks.
I also suggest leaving two giants to watch the goats, sending two giants to scale down the mountain quickly to scout the lower lands, and sending the five of the remaining six to look for caves in the mountains, leaving one to oversee everything from the arrival point.
>>
>>30431771
Seconding this >>30431822, except for the sumo wrestling.
>>
>>30431802
Let's take this chance to flesh them out, then!

>>30431808
You start building a pen to keep the goats in on a location with some grass. It won't feed a herd like this for a long time, but keepign them in overnight would be an option.

>>30431822
>>30431893
You send a couple of giants down the mountain, to scout, but one trips and falls down, breaking his leg!

The other reports that there's a cave to the south. It's not deep, but it'll do.
>>
Rolled 16

>>30431927

>>
Rolled 3

>>30431927
>but one trips and falls down, breaking his leg
ah, square-cube law, ever the bane of larger creatures.

may as well practice basic medicine. experiment on our fellow's leg! By which I mean research splints and crutches, not stick random herbs in his leg.

>>30431945
the goats might be better at that than we are.

>cave to the south
Search and secure the cave, maybe see about planting saplings near it.
>>
Rolled 20

>>30431927
With the pen complete, send the two that were overwatching the goats to go and recover the idiot nerd with the broken leg.
Take idiot nerd to the cave.
Get two of the five cave searchers to make the cave a little more livable.
>>
>>30431962
You try to straighten the leg to a piece of wood, but it breaks and splinters wedge into the poor fellow's leg!
>>30431945
You fail to find any plants.

Do you guys use a d100?

>>30431986
You take the injured Giant to the cave, and start to move rocks out of the cave, smoothen the place up a bit ,etc.
>>
Rolled 85

>>30431998
I use d100

I also happen to be VERY unlucky
>>

yup, my rolls are terrible, lately. you can check by mousing over our names.

time to practise surgery without anaesthetic! ohgod I'm a terrible person.

can we at least get some trees/wood? make it easier for them to grow, and move some over to the cave.
>>
>>30431998
Alright, now that we got this mighty fine cave we should herd the goats inside and build another pen inside.
>>
>>30432017
Apparently taking pity on your ill luck, or maybe just for shits 'n giggles, the Loak... Lowek... Trickster God returns and heals the injured fellow's leg.

>Rolling high when not neccesarry.

>>
Rolled 90

>>30432045
Send idiot nerd down the mountain again... Carefully this time...
To go and collect wood.
>>
>>30432053
You construct a second pen inside, for the goats to stay. You're really goign to have to find some feed for them, though, or just let them roam.

>>30432070
Having learnt from his first time, the Giant called Idot Nred, or "Id" for short, descends the mountain.

When he returns, he holds a couple of logs in his hand.

He says that there's a pine forest further down the hill, but that the mountains abruptly end in sea, at least on the western side of the mountain range.
>Taking pity on your shit rolls.

>>
>>30432120
The goats go down the mountain a bit, managing to find a small plain with enough grass for them to feed on.
>>30432133
You appoint a Giant as shepherd. He picks up one of the longer and thinner logs and begins to clear the path to the pasture, making it far easier to move there for both Goats and Giants.
