You are Logan Drey.
When you left Earth about a week ago, it was on the verge of total domination by a rogue AI.
You alone seem to have been spared by fate. After a desperate gambit to escape certain death, you met a strange creature in armor. When you accepted the shield this creature offered you, it whisked you off to parts unknown.

Now you’re a wanderer, the Unchosen Void Knight.

Your encounter with the “Dark Priests” helped shed some light on the things you saw on Tattva. It’s too bad they kicked you out, you were hoping you might learn more from them.

Luckily your talk with Parin went better. You may have been lying when you told her you’d loosen up, or not. You aren’t quite sure yet.

Now you’re back on Yoi, The planet where you met the machine race known as the Kema. You’ve heard some not so nice things about these guys on your journeys, it’s time you heard their side of things.

“Ah, Logan! You have returned.” Says Krenn in his robotic voice. His body language not changing in the slightest.

“Well, I’ve been around a bit.” You say with a smile, before turning to a more serious expression. “And heard some things.” You add. If what the Geob said was true, then these Kema have a lot to answer for.

Krenn cocks his head to the side. “Heard what things?” He asks. At least you’re somewhat sure it’s a he. Him being a robot and all, it’s hard to tell. He seems somewhat masculine though, so you think of him as a guy.

“I’ve spoken to the Geob. They told me that you guys stole their homes.” You say accusingly.

“Our dwellings were given to us by the Forger for safekeeping. We did not steal them from anyone” He says.

“And what about the outsiders then, who are they?” You ask.

“The outsiders are the Geob. But they have always lived in the wastes.” Krenn says.

“What do you know about quicksilver?” You ask Krenn.

“What do you want to know about it?” Krenn asks.

“I was on Tattva yesterday. There was mercury everywhere in one of the destroyed cities. I’ve heard a few things about it, but I was wondering what you know.” You say.

“The mercury on Tattva would have come from Rasa. Lord Kalki has told us much about him, for he was the devil of Tattva. According to Lord Kalki, Rasa was the poisoner of all things. When Monthei and the Eture arrived on Tattva, he freed Rasa and together they destroyed much. Kalki and the remaining Tattvanae only escaped because Kalki used an Eture device to take the last Mausam to another world. Monthei has hounded him ever since.

“Hold on, what is an Eture?” You ask.

“The Eture were the first race to join Monthei.” Krenn says.

“And what is a Mausam?” You ask.

“On Tattva, it is one of the airborne continents.” Krenn replies.

>What say?
>>
>>30443984

Airborne continents? How does a continent get airborne?

Also, this Rasa sounds pretty powerful... is it one of the gods?

>This thing is becomeing complex enough for a bleedin' wiki

Why would Monthei want to actually kill a world? That seems rather excessive... and this Rasa is still at large, yes? How do you fight something like that? Tattvanse had him captured... chained?

>>

>>30444148
If Rasa was the devil... Does that mean Monthei's betrayed his own creed?
>>
“How exactly does a continent get airborne?” You ask.

“Tattva is not like other worlds. The Aether is very powerful there, and it causes elemental forces to come to life. I believe this is why the Mausam float.” Krenn says.

“What about Rasa? From the way you guys speak of him, it sounds like he’s a god himself.” You say.

“Not a God, a Devil. Though at times there is little difference. Rasa; like the other Tattvanae, is made up of one element. Unlike the others the element is not one of life or creation, but of death. Rasa is the Mercurian, a being made entirely out of poison.” Krenn says.

“Okay, everyone keeps saying that mercury is poison. Is it just poisonous to everyone?” You ask.

This time it’s Parin who answers. “Yeah, didn’t I mention that?” She says.

“No, no you didn’t. That would’ve been helpful. “ You say.

“Woops!” She says, smiling carelessly.

“Okay, so that’s out of the way. What else was there… Yes! Why exactly did Monthei want to destroy Tattva?” You ask Krenn.

“I do not believe he wanted to destroy Tattva, only the ones like Kalki. The Black elementals were the gods of Tattva.” He says.

“But are the Black elementals gods?” You ask.

“I would assume so. Why do you ask?” Krenn says.

“Because Tattva isn’t corrupted, as far as I know the Corruption spreads to worlds where gods have been killed.” You say.

Krenn tilts his head. This is the first time you’ve seen him express anything, so it’s a bit weird. “What is the Corruption?” He asks.

Your mouth hangs open. “You don’t know what the Corruption is?” You ask him. “This war of yous is CAUSING it, and you don’t know what it is?!?” You say.

You want to get mad at this, you really do. The conflict of ‘god-lovers vs. god-haters’ is ripping the universe apart, and they don’t even know it?

But anger would solve nothing, so you explain. You tell Krenn what you know about the Corruption and what’s causing it, as well as the other theories you have about it.

“That is indeed very dire.” Krenn says. “I shall inform Lord Kalki and the other leaders the next time they come to Yoi.”

Krenn bows. “Farewell Logan, and may the path you forge stay true.”

You split the fingers on your right hand. “Live long and prosper, Krenn.” You say, before turning to Parin. It seems that she’s drawn the attention of some of the Kema, who are asking her all kinds of questions.

“You ready to go?” You ask her.

She looks glad that you asked, as she skips over to you. “Am I ever.” She says, looking relieved at the prospect of getting away from the inquisitive nature of the Kema.

The dark skinned Weaver walked casually through the wide streets of the small town on the Mausam.

“Go up there, talk to people and learn what you can.” Oz had said. “I’d like to know as much about these people before the summit begins. We need them on our side if we want to stop the corruption.”

And that’s exactly what she was doing. She had already conversed with several of the strange Tattvanae, as well as the Kema who resided with them on the Mausam.

She hasn’t talked to anyone for the last hour, though. As she keeps getting this weird feeling, like something is messing with the Aether of this world. Following that feeling has brought her here, to a small house. It looks entirely unremarkable, but if you were going to hide something…

Listening at the door, she could hear airy voices coming from inside.

“Think about it Stoencht! We could use this to wipe out Monthei and his foul Proclamation in one fell stroke!” Said one

“That is not an option, Ciric. It will NEVER be an option. Kalki would not stoop so low as to destroy an entire world for revenge. If we use this, it will be to extend our network. NOT to cause destruction!” Said the other.

Whatever ‘Stoencht’ and ‘Ciric’ were talking about, it was dangerous. Savvi had to get a look.
Without thinking of the repercussions, Savvi burst through the door.

It takes a minute, but before long you and Parin arrive on Aklabra.

Instead of showing up in the middle of a populated area like you expected, you seem to be in the middle of a barren field.

“This is Aklabra? I was expecting something more… Uhhh… just… more.” She says.

“I guess the whole place can’t be one big city.” You say, letting out a long sigh. “I guess the issue now is finding the city.” You scan the horizon, it doesn’t look like there’s anything around for miles.

Suddenly, Parin perks up. “Someone’s coming…” She says.

“Where? I don’t see anyone…” You say.

“No, not walking! Someone is coming here through a thread!” She says.

“Any idea who it is?” You ask.

“I think I have an idea…” She says.

From the look on her face, you’re pretty sure you know who it is too.

The KV-09 was designed during the Russian civil war 30 years ago. The pro-communist side started producing armor that was too strong for conventional weapons to pierce, so the anti-communist forces made the KV-09.

Needless to say, it eats tiny pieces of metal like Zeshua’s sword for breakfast.

Your sword goes right though his. Completely unimpeded your swing goes right through his left shoulder, taking off his left arm clean off.

Now it’s Zeshua’s turn to scream in pain. You move to finish him off, but he disappears for a moment. When he reappears, he’s a good 30m away.

“URGH, Y-YOU PIECE OF SHIT! HHHHOW DARE YOU EVEN THINK TO SCRATCH ME! I WILL NOT FORGET THIS UNCHOSEN! I’LL BE BACK FOR YOU AND THAT TRAITOROUS LITTLE WHORE! THE CORRUPTOR WILL HAVE YOU ALL!” He screams, clutching his bloody shoulder. He pulls his hand away briefly to slice a rift, and then he’s gone.

As soon as he’s out of the picture, you run over to Parin.

“What are you doing here?” Asked one of the air elementals. Savvi was familiar with the looks of each of the different Tattvanae. The air elementals were made up of hundreds of small, smooth stones circling around in a humanoid form.

Savvi ignored their question, focusing her attention on the black stone sitting on a table in between them. “What is that?” She asked.

“None of your business, you should leave.” Said the same elemental.

Savvi was not in the mood for this. If what she heard was right, that rock put everyone on this world in danger. She pulled out her long, curved sword and said again. “What is that.” It was not a question this time.

“Ciric, take the stone to Kalki.” Said the elemental. “Tell him what it can do, let him decide for himself whether or not to use it.” The air elemental seemed to grow, and the wind in the room grew fierce.

Savvi’s eyes narrowed, and she shattered her blade. The individual pieces all quickly strung themselves together into a larger blade.

As she moves to stop the one called Ciric from escaping, she herself is stopped by Stoencht.

“My apologies, lady. But I cannot allow you to follow him.” Said ‘Stoencht’.

Savvi wasn’t in the mood for his apologies. She dropped into her fighting stance, and struck.

As you run towards Parin, your head swims with all the different ways you can go about this. Which ones will work, which ones won’t.

You eventually settle on calling Jax and stabilizing her with your own magic. As you run, you make the call to him. “Jax! I need you here! Zeshua showed up and when Parin tried to talk to him, he tried to kill her! She’s hurt pretty bad and I don’t think I’ve got enough juice to keep her from dying!” You say into the small crystal. You’ll have to hope that gets him motivated.

When you reach her, you finally get a look at how bad the damage is. There’s blue blood everywhere, all of it is flowing from the huge gash in her side. Parin is trying vainly to hold her innards in, and when she sees you approaching she looks hopeful, but still pained.

“L-l-logan, oh god it hurts. Am I g-gonna d-d-d-die? P-please don’t let me die! Please!” The words flow thoughtlessly from her mouth, she seems to be pleading with you almost reflexively.

“You’re not gonna die, okay?” You say, loading your new healing spell into your support tank and placing your hand over the wound.

>Message received from: Jax, Hecatun Wayknight.
<Open a connection. I don’t care what it says.

Parin’s breath comes in ragged gasps. You can tell that her heart is racing, you need to calm her down somehow…

“Parin, I understand you’re sc- HEY!” You yell to get her attention. “Eyes up here.” You say, making sure that she’s focused on you. “I understand that you’re scared, but you need to keep cool understand?” You say.

She doesn’t seem to, her eyes still wide with fear.

“You’re gonna be okay.” You say. “Jax is on his way, and I’m gonna make sure that you stay alive until he gets here.”

Her expression remains the same.

“I won’t let you die. Not now, not ever!” You say, before pulling her head forward and kissing her.

That seems to do the trick. You feel her entire body relax, and you pull away.

“I messed that up didn’t I?” She says, tears flowing freely now that she isn’t so scared.

“Nothing you could’ve done, Zeshua’s been corrupted.” You say, looking at her regretfully.

It's now that Jax makes his presence known. "Holy shit, you weren't kidding! Move side, I'll take it from here."

You oblige him but you stay close, keeping one of Parin’s hands in yours the whole time.

Savvi deflects another blast of wind from the Tattvanae. His gusts cut like scythes; she dared not to think about what would happen if one hit her.

For a few minutes now they’ve been going back and forth in the little building. It seemed like ‘Stoencht’ could do this forever.

But Savvi couldn’t…

Already her breath was coming in ragged gasps, her strikes and blocks weren’t carrying the energy they did when she started. She couldn’t win a battle of attrition against this thing, she had to make a decisive blow. And she had to it soon.

The Tattvanae continued his assault. Savvi decided to feint and take a glancing blow to her leg, showing a calculated bit of weakness.

Stoencht saw the opening and moved in.

Savvi was ready for him. She plunged her broken blade right into his ‘chest’ making a clean hit on his ‘core’.

“N-no way! I’ve…” The air elemental reeled back, the wind in the room died down. “Kalki, my brother… I’m so sorry…” It said. Then the wind faded from the room completely, and the hundreds of small stones clattered to the floor.

“Damn… What the hell is with these guys?” Savvi said, checking the wound on her leg. The cut doesn’t seem too bad, so she ignores it. Then she sends a message to Oz in the form of a little shining butterfly, he’ll want to know about this.

As she moves to chase the other Tattvanae, she feels a strong presence approaching. “Shit!” She says, looking around for somewhere she could hide.

Too late, as a black form bursts into the room and looks around. It looks like it’s about to address her, but then it sees the rubble that was once Stoencht.

"Stoencht, my brother... You killed him!" He says his voice full of anger.

Before Savvi can respond the black elemental is upon her, its arms becoming blades to strike her down.

She isn’t going to last long here, hopefully Oz gets her message soon…
>>
After a few minutes, Jax pulls his hand away and addresses you. “There, she’s out of danger now.” He says, wiping the sweat off his brow. “Damn, I don’t think I’ve ever fixed a wound that big before, what the hell happened?”

You tell him about you encounter with Zeshua.

“He’s been corrupted… That’s bad news. His armor must’ve run out of energy.” He says, and continues when he sees the look of confusion on your face. “A Way Knight’s armor charges itself with Apotropeia while you’re on the Crossroads and it uses that to guard you from stuff like the Corruption. If you stay away for too long like Zeshua did…” He says.

“It leaves you open.” You reply.

“You’ll be fine. The Void Knight’s armor is different. It inherently protects you from just about everything.” He says. “The trainees, however, have no such protection.”

You both look down at Parin. She seems to be sleeping peacefully, for now.

You hazard a look at the wound you and Jax healed, and your heart drops. “That… that is something we should worry about.” You say.

Jax’s eyes go wide whe he sees it. “Oh shit…” He says.

Where the wound used to be, the skin is now deformed and purple.

“Tell me that can be fixed Jax.” You say, locking Jax’s eyes with a serious expression.

“It could, I suppose. I’d have to take her back to the miles-“

“Yes or no.” You say, cutting him off.

“Yes. The healers at the milestone should be able to handle this.” He says.

“Then that’s where she needs to be.” You say.

“I can’t just take an initiate back with m-“

“You CAN Jax. You CAN and you WILL. I don’t care what the Way Knight traditions are. The stakes have changed, the players need to accommodate.” You say.

“And when they ask why I’m bringing a corrupted trainee back to the milestone?” He asks.

“Tell them I sent you, and that any complaints they have can be taken up with me.” You say.

Jax is about to respond, when you feel a rumbling.

>WARNING!
>CRITICAL LEYLINE DISRUPTION DETECTED!
>PLANET AKLABRA WILL BE TORN APART IF LEFT UNCHECKED!

You and Jax lock eyes, he obviously felt that too.

“GO!” You yell.

“Say. That. Again.” Kalki said coldly. Ciric kneeled before him, “The Weaver, Saavi,” he said. “She accosted us in Ondo’s workshop!” He sounded more offended then distraught. “To what end?” Kalki responded, “What could she hope to gain by attacking us here?”
“My Lord,” he said, standing up, a confident tone in his voice, “We just may have found a way to end this war.” He spoke rather calmly for someone who had just been attacked. “No doubt she was sent to circumvent us, and gain considerable leverage.”
“If she attacked you, then how, exactly, did you escape?” Kalki said, “You are not renowned for your skills in combat, Ciric.” He was dodging the real issue.
“Of... of course,” Ciric stumbled, “I was arriving at that, Lord Kalki.” He gave a quick bow.
“Speak. Now.” Kalki was beginning to lose his patience.
“I... Stoencht... was with me,” He was stammering, “He stayed behind to fight her, but I have every confidence that our finest warrior can strike her down.” He tried to re-route the conversation.
Kalki snapped his head to him, anger VERY clear in his eyes. “You,” he responded, “Should have led with that.” He hastened to the temples’ main entrance.
“But... my Lord! We have discovered...!” Ciric yelled after him, sounding distressed.
“IT CAN WAIT!!” Kalki bellowed. Ciric sighed. He expected this. Nothing, regardless of urgency, mattered if Stoencht was at risk. Nothing...

I don't think we've actually seen any of these guys actually fight yet... I am intrigued.
>>
He soared through the air, light as feather. It took him less than a minute to arrive above the workshop. Then... he felt something on the wind... “Kalki, my brother... I am so sorry...” “No... no, that can’t be possible!!” He thought to himself. He landed, slicing into the ground beneath him. He burst into the room... and saw the Weaver standing over Stoencht’s remains...
A rage overcame him... an ancient, unfathomable rage. “STOENCHT, MY BROTHER...!!” His eyes met hers, “You killed him!” There was no thought. His arms became blades. And he leapt forward.
She brought up her weapon to block. It was no use. His arm met the blade, than split apart. It became two pronged, and dug into her shoulder. She cried out in pain, breaking her stance. He brought his other arm over her guard, and dug it into her other shoulder. As his feet met the ground, he twisted his leg forward, slicing into her leg. It was time to end this. The blade dropped from her hand, falling to pieces on the ground. He pulled his arms down her torso, in an X pattern. She fell into a bloody, broken heap. His foot sharpened, becoming a straight blade, and he shoved it through her un-cut leg. “You’re going to die,” He said, voice dripping with malice, “But there’s still time to hurt you.”

“LIKE HELL THERE IS!” Came a shout from outside the building. Shortly followed by several blasts of searing light. The blasts continued for a good 30 seconds before subsiding.

Kalki managed to harden himself and take the brunt of the assault, but he did not come out unscathed. Looking out the now non-existent wall, he saw one of the Runecasters. “You will not deny me my vengeance!!!” Kalki roared and he leapt at the runecaster, his entire body brimming with hate.

The runecaster’s eyes narrowed, and he pulled a rune out of his book. Then he placed the rune in the air before him and detonated it, sending Kalki flying back.
>>
Am I the only one who's having real trouble keeping track of all these characters?
>>
“I don’t care for your vengeance. You lay one more hand on my friend, I’ll see that you have no hands to lay.” The runecaster said, as several handeless blades floated up from behind him.

Kalki laughed.

“If your friends are so important to you, then you can perish with them!” Then he sailed away, his body becoming a glider once more. He flew back to the temple where he left Ciric.

In the distance, he could see the ships of the Proclamation break through into the world. Good. They have come, just like Kalki expected them to. Like rats to a carcass.

And like rats, he would exterminate them all.

“My lord, what has happened to Stoencht?” Asked Ciric when Kalki arrived at the temple.

“You said you had found a way to end this war." Kalki said, his voice flat and emotionless. "Show me."
>>
“Woah, you’re not thinking of staying here are you?” Jax says.

“Yeah, there’s a lot of people on this planet. If I just leave now, I’m consigning them all to death.” You say.

Jax gently lifts Parin onto his shoulder. “You might be consigning yourself to death as well.” He says.

You smirk at him. “I’m a tougher nut to crack than you think.”

>Open rift.

The shield lights up, and you stick your blade through the space in front of you. “I’ll be in touch.” You say.

“You damn well better be.” He says, cutting his own rift. “Parin’s pretty much lost her brother, I’ll be damned if she loses her lover as well.” He says.

He’s gone before you can question how he knows that, so you let it be. You have a job to do.

You enter the rift, and come right out the other side.

You seem to be in a large temple, similar in style to the buildings you saw in the ruins on Tattva. Before you is a black figure, rippling with energy.

>Leyline disturbance located.

An indicator shows up over the black figure. That’s the leyline disturbance? That guy?

The figure turns to face you, and you can see that it is indeed not a guy. “Another rat? Tell me, how did you get in here?”

“Whatever you’re doing has to stop. Now. You’re going to blow up the planet if you keep going!” You say. Hopefully he is just not aware and that solves the whole issue.

“I am aware of that.” It says. You could swear that you see a smile cross its featureless face. “Indeed, that is my intention.”

So far we only know that it's somehow caused by the killing of gods.
