All started with a fated meeting, between the boy,Tohma, and the girl, Lily.

The ring, the book and everything else all came afterwards.

Their meeting was not a tragic one, even if whole worlds could consider their meeting the start of a cruel fate; to those two, it may as well have been a miracle.

Their powers may be ones that only exist to bring destruction and ruin, yet those two swore to turn those very powers have into their hope.

Their past can’t be changed, but they hope to turn future into anything.

These are the records of their struggle.

These are the records that chronicle the Book of the Silver Cross Incident and everything that followed.

It is the year 81 of the New Calendar, the awakening of the black grimoire, the second volume of the Gospel of the Silver Cross, has been completed.

With the birth of the Zero Driver the world now truly spins into motion. The pieces are placed, the actors are ready and the stage is finally set.

All that is left is for you to act.

Having understood a bit more of the world around you, how will you choose to live from now on?

What will you protect? What will you sacrifice?

Only a devil might know.

This small island had been the site of a great battle.

The forest burned, mountains were shattered and temples destroyed; this was once again proof of the destructive power of magic. A force that easily can reduce worlds to ashes if left unchecked.

Magic was a miracle, a miracle that has brought the birth of many civilizations, but to them it was also the source of their destruction.

That was why they were here, to stop it from happening ever again.

The awakening of that pair of machines, Lost Logia apparently, was worrying, but in the end the TSAB could coating them, just as the TSAB had dealt with atrocities such as the Book of Darkness since its foundation.

Plus the few pieces of random weapons they had found in the battlefield and the temple were interesting pieces of technology.
What worried them was the Silver Cross.

Eclipse was now proving itself a truly dangerous weapon. So far, the Huckebeins had avoided direct confrontation with the TSAB whenever they could, but the events six weeks ago and this day were proof the combat potential that Eclipse had.

They were sure that if a massive outbreak of the virus occurred, the regular forces of the TSAB would not be able to handle it.
But if the regular forces were not able to handle it, then they would.

That was why they were SHADOWSKILL.

The hidden arm of the TSAB, the ones who seek justice in the shadows.

Darkstalkers who worked in secrecy.

Ones whose stories would never be known.

>Silberkreuz, it appears we will have a meeting soon.

They will not allow such a monster to exist in the world they protected unchecked.

Object Recovered: A small sword-type device believed to have belonged to the white machine... research will soon follow.

This is a black world, a meaningless world, a world that had no form but the one of your heart.

To you this place might as well be hell.

But today, there are no devils here, only a man.

A man who you must kill.

“Good to see you,Little Killer!”

You ignore him. You are too tired to even hate him.

You can only think on what happened on that island, on the words you told the white machine.

“Oh, I remember that, ‘this poison must not become something that harms others’, what a load of bullshit. Can you understand your own hypocrisy, brat? How can someone like you even think of saying things like 'I want to use my powers to save others', when the truth is that you only want one thing…

…to kill.” The leather clad man laughs wildly at this, at you, at your words, at your determination to not be a slave to the virus in you.

What do you say?

>It was not me.
>I am not like that.
>Those words are true. You are right, I lied.
>Even if they are a lie, I will make them true. I am not just a killer, I can be more!

I want something more along the lines of, "Maybe all I wanted before was to kill...but that was before I knew what I could do. I have the power to kill, a power I agree noone should have. But that doesn't mean I can't also protect with it."

“I…” In a way this guy was right, those words were lies, half-assed sentiments that you spouted at the heat of the moment, but… “Even if those words were a lie…” You meet this monster head on, your eyes staring directly at this, neither of you breaking contact, “I will make them come true!”

You stand your ground, you will not allow the words of this thing to turn you into something that you were not, “Maybe before all I wanted was to kill, to have my revenge, but that was before I knew what I could do, before I had met Lily.” You owe Lily a better future, a future brighter than that of a killer.

“So even if now I have the power to kill with ease, a power that I agree none should ever have, I will not allow it to rule me! Even if this is a power born to only destroy, that does not means that I can’t protect others with it!” These were your feelings, the feelings that had blossomed in your heart after fighting the white machine.

That man stays silent, just staring at you, before he starts to laugh again, “What a riot, you do not even realize it. Are you so blind you can’t think? Very well let me ask you something, how will to protect others with your powers, please tell me!”

The answer is easy, “I just have to defeat them, nothing more!”

“Can’t you stop lying, even if it is not to me, at least stop lying to yourself. You and I both know what you really know what you really would do…” That man draws his gunblade and makes a slicing motion to his neck, “you would kill them.”

“You would kill the ones who hurt you, the ones who dare to threaten the ones you love, to kills the ones who had killed the ones you loved. Just like you want to kill me!”

“Just be honest with yourself for once, if you had to choose, you would prefer to kill than to be killed, no, that is not right. You would love to kill before those you care for are killed.

That is the sort of sick fuck you are. Just admit it, you are no hero, just a good old killer, just like me!” The man just laughs, a hollow laugh that breaks your heart.

Because part of you agrees with him.

“What a riot! Come would it kill you to be honest for once in your stupid life, you know deep down that the tin can was right about you, stupid brat!” That man… he closed the distance between you two even further, until his face met yours with just centimeters to spare, “Deep inside you- you want to kill! To protect your own above the others, to save your own instead of others, if you were forced to choose, you would save yourself, always...

and you would do it by killing!”

You feel sick, sick to your core. That was wrong… you would not kill to protect your family and friends, right?

>Run Away, you can’t face those words.

>Accept his words, deep down you are not really that different than this man?

You… you can’t deny those words. If someone would dare to attack Su-chan or Vivio…

…that person would be killed by you, without hesitation or mercy, you knew that deep down in your heart. “Maybe… you are right. I can’t deny that I would kill, I would break anyone who dared to harm my friends, I would crush anyone who dared to attack my family.”

To be weak is a sin, to be too weak to protect a loved one was the ultimate sin.

You who had lost everything once understood that fine, that was why you would now use the power you know had to cleanse your old sin.

To never lose anything again.

It hurts you to admit this, to admit that this man and you were similar, “but I won’t allow this desire to control me, I won’t lose to the Eclipse!”

Surprisingly that man smiles at your words, well not really, but that sort of half-smirk should count as a smile, right?

“Good, you now understand how thing work a bit. But you better remember something, this power that you say will protect others… it is a power that demands a price from you, a price you will pay in blood.

Not your own blood, but the blood of others. This virus demands a sacrifice, a sacrifice of blood. I hope that in the end you understand what it means to use that poison.”

Blood? You do not really understand but the worlds cracks as the man finished his sentence.

Lies, you understand.

Thus with nothing more to say, the man walks past you, his shotgun bayonet to his shoulder, as the world cracks once again.

Thus you leave hell, but you know something deep in your heart.

You will return.

You wake up… that was a nightmare… a nightmare born from your hate.

Looking around you, there is only steel, steel and a flat screen. This is a TSAB cell… made of sterile white metal and concrete, quarantined to prevent anything from escaping, made to hold you until the TSAB knew how to handle you.

This was normal- afterall you are a dangerous infected criminal with an unknown bioweapon.

Your name is Tohma Avenir, an Eclipse Driver chosen by the Black Grimoire of the Silver Cross and Lily Strosek the 4th… and you were detained in a cell.

The only thing you knew was that you were deep underground, and that the only way to escape would be by blowing up the door before you.

It has been a day since the TSAB captured you at the lost island, soon you had been transported to a TSAB Base on Ruwella, and had been sealed in this cage.
You were getting impatient.

No one had really come to interrogate you, and food had been delivered by drones, so you had not had human contact for 24 hours.

You still had the silver ring on your right arm- which would summon the divider and the book, and Lily was sleeping within you. After the battle she had fainted, and you did not know how to summon her back from within you.

Finding some way to summon her was one of your current priorities.

All your other possession- including Steed had been taken from you- they had only left you a white suit for you to dress yourself.

With the divider still in your hands, you could try to stage a break out, just blasting the door, or you could use your magic and try to break the door. While the thing was reinforced against casting, you knew the earth- including metals better than anyone, and thus was sure that you could open the door silently.

But those options might sour things with the TSAB when they come to meet you, maybe it would be better to rest in the cell and wait some more.

The Silver Cross was callable also, so maybe you could read it?

Waiting for someone to come was boring, so you decide to…

>Try to sneak out with you Earth Magic! Sneaking Mission!
>Blow the door with the Divider, break out at full power!
>Try contacting Lily, you are worried for her.
>Try reading the Silver Cross, maybe the black book has something important in it? Contacting Curren might be possible?

>Encounter Roll Failed…
You think of the Silver Cross, the black book that had been given to you along the gunblade. So far you had not tried to inspect it, you had not much time while running from the TSAB and fighting, but now maybe it was the time.

“Silver Cross!” In a flash, the black book appeared in your hands, summoned by the silver ring. The ancient tome look clean, cleaner than it had ever before.

Had it changed now that Lily and you were now connected properly?

Moving past that enquiry, you open the tome, flipping through the pages as you tried to read the text. It was a mess, fragmented words borrowed from different Belkan Era dynasties like the Galians and the Ostians (those mentions of the Valkur and the Mobius made it clear) which then shifted to Ancient Belkan dialects that no living man even knew anymore which jumped to some modern Belkan and Mid Childan text, like if the book had been written in parts, taking random words from whoever had ended with it.

At your level of skill decoding this mess of text would take at least a year of just working on it, it was a bit beyond your current level.

But not all was lost, there was a section of the book you could read right now, the Belkan dialect was a bit old, but you understood it enough to translate.

It talked about Casting.

Well not exactly that, but you just decided to call it that.

Not much dissimilar from what an Ancient Belkan Mage would do, it talked about how by taking time to gather EC particles, a driver could create better and more complex effects, some that could rival even the spells casted by mages.

Compared to just shooting random beams from the gunblade this sounded more interesting, but you would need to take some time to practice using the book. Casting a spell inside the cell was just asking for trouble.

Reading the book an hour passes, and so far no one has come… maybe they are all busy?

>Try to sneak out with you Earth Magic! Sneaking Mission! If you do it right, no one has to know.
>Blow the door with the Divider, break out at full power!
>Try contacting Lily, you are worried for her.
>Try reading the Silver Cross some more, maybe you can write back at Curren, like she did for you? Contact Curren

About Casting Skills/Charge Skills
>You have unlocked the option to use Cast Skills with the Black Book. Generally speaking Casting works by charging the spell through the turn, and then activating the effect at the end of the turn to create great destructive effects. But beware, if you are attacked while changing a Casting Skill, the skill will be interrupted.

>To use casting effectively, you need to use allies to protect you while you prepare your spells. This might be hard, but the payoff is sure worth it.

You have some time to kill, so you try to leaf through the Silver Cross again, trying to see if you could use it to communicate with Curren Huckebein.

You were curious about the mysterious woman who had been helping you through the Black Book and you were also curious about what she knew about your hometown.
Thus on an almost random impulse, you decided to write on an empty page of the black book, starting with the heading… [To you who wield the white grimoire…]

You did not really know what to write… so you simple wrote the most basics of greetings, [hello?]. You feel like killing yourself out of shame, what would the cool Ms. Curren think if she read that?

You waited several moments before a reply appeared on the old text of the book.

>Tohma, is that you? It is me, the cute and amazing Curren Huckebein, what do you wish to talk to me about?

Wait, it worked? Dear Saint Kaiser (not Vivio), maybe you had to listen to those random impulses of yours more often.

But before you could think how to reply to Ms. Curren, someone appeared on the door. Clad in white and blue armor, was an knight, a knight that would sacrifice herself to protect the peace and love in the world while upholding law and order.

That was her justice.

Now, Mira Camrill stood before you, “Greetings, Silberkreuz. I am glad that you have kept to your word, and have not tried to sneak out of this containment cell.”

… so cold, but that was expected.

>Write-In how do you greet the Enforcer!

Well there is only one way to greet this woman, “Have you come to talk to me, how nice! I was getting lonely!” Staying inside a cell alone was something that you found boring, to the point that you would welcome even this knight. “So how are you?”

To your surprise she begins talking, her voice having a cheerful demeanor, that to you could never be faked. “How nice of you to ask, I must say that so far, I am having a pleas-“ She suddenly stops mid sentace, as , as she opens the door to the cell, “There is no time for this, Silberkreuz, I need you to come with me for your formal inquiry with Commander Yagami.”

“Can’t you at least give me some cake or ice cream?” You really had not lost that craving for sweets since you had woken yesterday on the island, and for some reason you wanted to share some with both Mira and someone else.

A certain cute devil.

But that was crazy.

“I might consider it, if you behave yourself in front of the commander, Silberkreuz.” It actually amazed you that she would really consider it, maybe this lawful knight was not as bad as you thought?

“But, I can’t be taken to interrogation just like that, I am a ward of the Belkan Church, which have given me sanctuary, the TSAB can’t just hold me like this without their consent.” Steed had the proof of the contract, but you were sure that if you could play your cards correctly, you could stall for some time.

“We are aware of that, that is why we have been having some difficulties with your interrogation, Silberkreuz, but now those matters are close to being settled. Such things will be explained in detail, by the Commander in her office.” The enforcer seems a little angry at talking about her church, but in a way you can’t blame her.

But what worries you is that it appears that the TSAB and the Church have reached some accord in regards to you. You did not like this, but it looks like the Church may be trying to cut ties with you.

Maybe you now were too much trouble for the Church and they wanted to give you up to the TSAB and cut ties with you before you dragged them into your mess.
You were not sure what to think…

Mira was leading you across some hallways, and up an elevator, soon you will be in the upper floors and near the Commander’s office.

You want to talk with Mira about many things, you want to learn more about this young woman, but right now is not the time for that.

There is something you need to know right now. “Mira, how are Mr. Scrya and Isis? Are they fine?”

The enforcer stops in her tracks, taking a moment to turn around and meet your eyes, “If you are speaking about the young maiden who assisted the Librarian, then I have to say that she is currently fine. She is being hospitalized in the base to check for signs of infection and to treat her injury due to yesterday’s battle, but so far it appears that the brave girl is fine.”

You are glad that Isis was fine, you had left the girl alone fighting with part of the Grendels and you were not sure how she would handle herself. But thankfully it looks like she is now fine.

“However regarding the Librarian…” Mira pauses, as she takes a moment to meet your eyes. This only manages to make you worry, but you do not turn, you need to know. Even if the information is grim, you want to know.

Mira then turns around preparing to continue walking, having acknowledged something in your eyes before telling you what happened, “ he is still in intensive care, we are still operating him to ensure he manages a full recovery, plus we must ensure that he was not infected by the Eclipse.”

Mira continues to walk, her back turned towards you, and you numbly follow her.

Mr. Scrya… you are not sure if Mira is telling you the truth about Mr. Scrya, or did she make that up to cheer you up.

You are not sure what to believe…

Still you reach a large door in record time and Mira stops to stare at you, “Silberkreuz, this is the Commander’s Office, I hope you are prepared to render your testimony to the commander. I implore you to try not to cause any trouble inside this room, or I will be forced to defend my Lord.”

Mira then opens the door slightly and then moved to the side; giving you space to enter at your leisure.

You were about to enter the Commander’s Room, what sort of conduct should you adopt with the commander? How should act in-front of the commander? Should you present yourself as an ally of justice, someone who just tried to right the wrongs done to Lily, or should you try to be a scared little boy, someone who ended up being way over his head and regrets his actions?

Try…

>Being honest (while keeping some parts hidden)
>Being scared (fake it)
>Being brave
>Be a man of Justice (you just saved someone)
>Just tell the truth.
>Just be you
>Be a devil?
>Be something else?

The above vote has to do with how you will handle yourself in the meeting. For example, the being scared vote, it has Tohma fake being a scared boy, and try to gain sympathy points with that. Do note that Nanoha will see through most acts, unless you roll well. Feel free to elaborate how you should act, this will help you clear this important check.

You understand that the people you will soon face will be important. They might be the ones who will decide the fate of your life, if you mess up here it could mean the end of that happy life you had with Su-chan and your family.

You get nervous, tense enough that you feel that you can’t move… and then you let it go.

You forget about it.

You are above such thing, to the point that they do not matter. You were helping someone, and if these people had a problem with it, then fine.
But you would not run away.

Thus with his devilish courage, you enter.

The room is a bit spartan, filled with sign of disuse and being honest, you feel that this room had been empty a short time ago and was arranged for these circumstances.
Nevertheless, it felt warm. A warmness that reminded of you of home, of Su-chan and your friends.

That was why you instantly became wary, and with good reason.

There were only two humans in this room, and both were existences that scared you.

The first was a living legend, the mistress of the Night Sky, and the Walking Lost Logia. Hayate Yagami, the one who had sank the Saint’s Craddle six years ago when Mid-Childea had been attacked.

One of the three legendary Aces of the TSAB, she was an existence equal to the White Devil, so there was no surprise you tensed at being near her.

The second was not someone you knew, but he was dressed in white and green robes adorned in gold, befitting one who served a high rank of the church of the Saint Kaiser.

But something about this priest set off your instincts (or rather the thing in your blood), something told you that this man, probably some sort of Belkan Knight, was dangerous, very dangerous.

You had promised earlier to start trusting your wild impulses, maybe it was the time to start.

The raccoon woman (where did that name come from… Lily?) smiled at your entrance, starting the talks, “I sure have heard many things about you, Tohma Avenir. My name is, as you probably know, Hayate Yagami, and I must say that I am pleased to meet you, young man.”

You do not know what to say, this was honestly, not exactly how you would have hoped how these talks to have started.

However before five seconds passed and you managed to gather your wits enough to reply, the priest started to move the talks, “Child… no Silberkreuz, I am one of the three Arch Cardinals of the Belkan Church of the Saint Kaiser, Ludevich Engleheart, here to answer your call as a fellow believer of the Saint Kaiser.” This man was not much older than the Commander, not even past 30, but somehow you felt that his soul had a weight that could have crushed even stars.

But you do not waver, you are not wrong, you believe that with everything in your heart.

The very important man of cloth pointed his staff at you, with a Belkan Triangle at the top symbolizing the union between the three legendary kings. “Do you understand why you are here, Silberkreuz? What has resulted from your actions?”

That question was a tough one, but what did this man want you to say?

You knew that you had to be careful here, if you messed up, it could lead to this man becoming your enemy, and he was the sole lawful ticked out of the TSAB custody if ever wanted to leave.

So how do you respond?

>Ignore him, continue your business with Commander Yagami.
>Stay Silent, you do not have anything to say, your actions speak for themselves.
>Answer him, I just heard a voice calling me for help, and thus I answered. Everything that followed lead me here.
>Answer him, you came because I asked Sister Magdalene for shelter with the Holy Church six weeks ago. That is the more important thing right now. [Turn the question around.]
>Answer him, I am here because I am an Eclipse Driver, and both the Holy Church and the TSAB are interested in me. [You can choose to omit one of the two factions]
>Answer him, what happened in these few days does not matter, we must speak of what will happen in the future. What will happen if we do not find a way to control Eclipse.
>Answer him, I did what was right, to me that was the most important thing!
>Other? Write In an option?

You had no time for this, no time to waste on stupid interrogations, now when Eclipse Drivers ran rampant, not when your blood called for kill.

“In my honest opinion sir, what happened in these few days does not matter, we must now speak now of what will happen in the future, what will happen if outbreaks of Eclipse continue to happen.” The sudden disappearances of villages you heard of had been probably attacks of Eclipse Drivers, and you did not dare think what would happen if an EC Driver attacked one of the main planets, like Mid Childea.

The commander Hayate Yagami suddenly rose from her desk, “I understand why you might be worried, but the TSAB is working to handle the situation, that is why this Anti-Eclipse Taskforce, the Special Duty Section 6 was founded.”

That sounded nice, but it did not convince you, “Then what have you done? There have been many villages under attack, probably by Eclipse Users? And why was Lily being tested on a lab on one of the TSAB’s core world, especially in a cultural reserve? You might say that you are working but…” you did not trust that.
“… there are no results.”

She commander sat on her desk, and part of you feels bad for lashing out at her, but you do not like the TSAB, even if Su-chan is a part of it, not when it had failed to protect what was dear to you once.

Hayate Yagami could have argued with the advances in the development of the Anti-Eclipse Weaponry, with the new leads they had found in the lab in the ruins six weeks ago, or the fact that with Tohma research on the Eclipse could start.

But those things did not deal with the root of this boy’s argument. The TSAB had failed, it had failed to protect those it had sworn to protect.

However it surplices you when the one who answers your attacks is not the Commander, but the Arch Cardinal, “I understand why you are wary of the TSAB, as one who has been branded a criminal by the organization it might be a bit difficult to being to trust them. But, Silberkreuz, the TSAB and this young lady has been working tirelessly to find a way to solve the Eclipse Related Attacks and find the source of that virus, and now she has found you.” The priest now points his staff again at you, taking the moment to adjust his glasses to the point where the glare of the light clouds his eyes.

“Silberkreuz, you say that you wish for the TSAB to prepare for an outbreak of the Eclipse, but how will they, when you refuse to help them. I can understand why your hesitation, but hear me out, you are now a child of Belka, and thus the church and I, will labor to ensure you will receive a fair treatment from the TSAB, and if such is not possible, then we will shelter you from it. The only thing we ask of you is this, please tell us all you know.”

The Cardinal saying this was akin to declaring that the Church, or rather the Autonomous Belkan Region, would oppose the TSAB in the investigation of Tohma Avenir, in a way it was very similar to a declaration of war.

You were sure that if you had not been infected, he wouldn’t have said those words.

You must remember this, while the TSAB wants you because of your viral powers, that does not mean other factions are not the same. They will be interested too in your abilities.

Still how do you reply?
>I have nothing to say.
>I will talk if you promise me one thing, my freedom! [Write In another term]
>I was planning on doing so, what do you say? [Write IN What are you willing to talk with these two.]
>Tell them everything, be honest this one time.
>Write IN?
>>
>>30507041
What do we know that we can afford to tell them, exactly?
>>
>>30507074
That is what you guys must choose, here are some suggestions.
>The Lab where Lily was, and how you found it. (The fact that you killed could stay hidden?)
>Your meeting at the Church/ The attack of that man.
>The fight against the TSAB? [You were not sure when you fought Mira]
>The Mage Killer Killers that you researched with Yuuno
>The Grendel Family that tried to kidnap you.
>Curren Huckebein

Do understand that this is you giving your declaration to them, as in telling them what you know. The more info you give them the more they will be able to do, and the more they will know about you.
>>
>>30507139
The lab shouldn't hurt anything, because it's already gone. Just don't say or allude to murder.

They don't need to know about that guy at the church, because that's our business.

They probably already know about any encounters we had with them, but we can probably throw it in, just avoiding anything too sensitive.

The MKKs we released specifically so the TSAB would not get them; telling them now should be avoided.

The Grendel family, I want to know more about them before we bring them up.

Telling them about Curren won't help; in fact, it will probably go badly.

So,
>>The Lab where Lily was, and how you found it. (The fact that you killed could stay hidden?)
>>The fight against the TSAB? [You were not sure when you fought Mira]
>>
>>30507041
You are correct in saying that it would be remarkably difficult for them to prepare without me. Not quite so in that I'm unwilling to help. But, of course, there are conditions. First is, of course, my freedom. I won't help you at gunpoint, but I will happily, and willingly, assist in the protection of my home if I am allowed to.

Secondly, information. While I have first-hand experience working with the Eclipse virus, I know about as much about it as I do any organ in my body, which is very superficial.

Lastly, I want the investigation of the attack on my home town reopened. This is a personal request, and I give you my word that I shall not act upon anything discovered without your approval.

Beyond that and the obvious protections, immunities, and quarters where there's an actual mattress and pillow instead of two blocks of metal with fabric on them, I'd appreciate the chance to open some correspondences with some old friends of mine, including Vivio and Su-chan.
>>
>>30507253
I'm not fond of telling the cops to investigate the people we want to kill. That could attract negative attention if we aren't careful.
>>
>>30507266
We can push for their execution, and even be the ones to do it.
>>
>>30507041
>I will talk if you promise me one thing, my freedom! [Write In another term]
Tell them about everything except the Mage Killer Killers, and Best Girl.

Our excuse for the lab killings is and will remain that the tried to murder us for discovering their operation.
>>
>>30507298
Well, okay. There's no way to be sure when we come across them again, so even if things don't go perfectly, using their resources will make them go.
>>
>>30507298
The TSAB does not do executions, they will rot in prison, but there is no death penalty.
>>
>>30507327
Actually, though, do we really have to say we won't act on anything? That's a pretty clear request. Particularly if they have any information on the Eclipse already that would let them know our magic powers tell us to kill people.
>>
>>30507253
I have to second not liking the specific request of investigating our hometown. We can do that ourselves and these are the absolute worst people to let know we're still looking to fulfill our murderhobo quest.
>>
>>30507348
The TSAB does not know much about Eclispe, only that it causes Anti-Magilink Effects by Delinking... so they do not know about the killing urges unless you tell them.

You all seem to think killing them is the only proper response to seeing them again.

Which we definitely will not.

>>30507396

>>
>>30507582
I vote for all the conditions as is.

We aren't going to kill the guy, just work to see him brought to justice. Most of our mistrust for the TSAB is because they DIDN'T do much on this case.
>>
>>30507582
I think that what we want is to tell them about the lab in exchange for any information they have on the actual effects of the Eclipse virus on its hosts, if any. I agree with the other guy about not asking about the case.

You turn towards the Cardinal, thinking about the words he had said, “You are right in saying that it would be remarkably difficult for the TSAB to prepare without me. It is not that I am unwilling to help, but, of course, there are conditions.”

You turns towards the commander, and take several steps until you are before her desk, the Cardinal is now besides you, starting your request you raise one finger, “First is, of course, that I expect for the TSAB to respect my freedom, I refuse to help you at gunpoint, no matter the cause. However, I will happily and willingly assist in the protection of my home in Mid Childea, if I am allowed to.”

You now raise a second finger to go with your second demand, “Secondly, I want information. While I have some first-hand experience working with the Eclipse Virus, I know about as much about it as any organ of my body, that is to say that my knowledge is very superficial. I want to know more about the Eclipse and how to control it.” You were worried about losing control of the Eclipse, and any information the TSAB might have, or that they could research from now on, could help you greatly.

Now you raise one last finger, a third, as you continue your negotiations, “Lastly, I want the investigation of the attack of my home town six years ago reopened again, I believe it might be involved with the recent attacks on other villages on small worlds. I know this is a personal request, but it is very important for me to find out the truth.”

Afterwards the things you ask for are basic needs, “Beyond those three important points, all I ask for are the obvious protections, immunities and some nice quarters where there’s an actual mattress and a pillow instead of the two blocks of metal with fabric on them that I sleep on today. I would also quite enjoy the chance to open some correspondences with some of my old friends, including Vivio and Su-chan, or at least have the chance to see them again.”

That was a mouthful, but you feel that those demands represent enough of what you feel, now all that there is to wait for is the Commander’s response.
“Good, Tohma-kun, you know how to negotiate, this commander enjoys boys like you who have wits about them, I can say that I will like working with you. Then here are my own conditions,” The raccoon woman smiles at you, amused by your words. What did she think this was, some game?

However, before you could even think of asking her to get serious, her eyes turned sharp. Hayate Yagami raised one finger. “Aside of your declaration I want three things from you. First of all, I want you to give us samples of your body, to use as Anti-Eclipse research. You are the first live Eclipse Driver we have captured, and this is an opportunity to research ways to control the virus.” So the TSAB was working on a cure? Maybe that could help you.

“Second, I want you to enter TSAB custody for at least six months, to ensure that you and the book you carry are kept safe. From the reports of what happened on the Island, you were being attacked by two machines who sought to kill you, and there was another force trying to kidnap you. We can’t allow anything to happen to you a civilian, so please understand us.” This one was something you expected, the TSAB would not allow someone who could plow a city out with a pull of a trigger to just walk about their territory.

“The third one is… that I hope you join the TSAB Anti Eclipse Taskforce= Special Duty Section 6 (SDS6) as part of the ongoing investigations of the Eclipse Virus as a contracted mage for the organization. If you want the answers to what is happening to you, I believe that it would be best for you to labor to get them with your own hands. Plus, I am willing to offer you the training and resources to help you develop as a combat mage, and if you like working with us, even a permanent post in the TSAB.” By making you a contract mage, she was basically asking you to become a mercenary under her orders, just for a limited amount of time.

Honestly you were expecting for her to ask you to become a Cadet for the TSAB, but this… this might not be so bad.

“So what do you say, Tohma-kun, can you agree to my conditions. I hope you do not refuse, because while I might not look like it, this Commander is quite the spoiled child and would be quite sad to not reach an understanding with you, Tohma-kun.” The Raccoon-woman smiles at you kindly, while she extends you her hand, waiting for you to seal the deal.

So far the Cardinal has stayed silent, it appears the he is fine with the agreement, so what do you do.

The conditions are pretty favorable, and in a way more than you thought you would get away with, but in a way you feel that there is something she is not telling you.

You are not exactly fond of this deal. While being honest you know it is still not that bad, you do not like the feeling of giving yourself and Lily to the TSAB.

Thus you turn to your side, to the only ally (in a way?) in this room. “Lord Cardinal Engelheart, I have always trusted in our Kaiser, Vivio, and if you speak for her church and followers, I’d like to hear what you have to say before agreeing. Cardinal, I know you wouldn’t advise me to do something that might upset Vivio if you could help it. What do you think of this deal?”

You needed a second opinion, and this was the only man in the room who could give it to you.

The cardinal chuckled, who would have thought that one day he would be asked something like this by a friend of the clone of the Saint Kaiser, in a way the world was too wild, and for the first time in this thirty years of age, the Cardinal was truly feeling how ridiculous this world could be.

“Honestly, Silberkreuz, while I can understand why you distrust the TSAB, which is a sentiment that I share with you,” Wait, what? “their deal is probably even better in some ways than what we would have been willing to offer you at the church. We would have asked you to join the Church Knights immediately, to serve in the Glory of the Kaiser (that would leave you with similar freedoms in comparison to working with the TSAB) and eventually, asked you to lead a Knight Order to work in conjunction with the TSAB in the investigations of the Eclipse Virus and the attack on Villages.”

“Silberkreuz, one thing you might not know, is that both the Church and the TSAB have evidence that the ones behind the attacks on villages of our faithful, are using Dividers. Thus to the Church it is also a priority to find who is behind these attacks.” The cardinals points his staff at you.

“I do not know all about your past, but from what I heard you turned yourself in to the TSAB. Then I am sure that you would understand that from there on, the only options you would really have left would be either joining them, being placed into protective custody by them, or seeking the protection of the Holy Church.

Young man, these are the options you have left right now, please thing them carefully.”

The only other thing you could really consider was to try to break out somehow, but this was not how you wanted to end things. You do not want to end up fighting Su-chan.

>Accept the TSAB’s deal

>Decline both deals

The TSAB wishes to have me confined for six months, which I don't like, but it does make something else an option. At the end of those six months, I'll be free to choose between you. In that time, I can speak with others, get honest opinions from people I trust, as well as think heavily on my options. In that time, the TSAB will be given the samples they need, and I'd hope for the information while I wait. I need to know more about the Virus before I move it anywhere."
>>
>>30509374
Actually the way it is worded, is that you have to be in TSAB supervision for six months, in which you will be working as a Contract Mage for the Section 6 in dealing with Eclipse. Afterwards Tohma will be free to go wherever he pleases as long as he proves he can control himself.
>>
>>30509419
Ehhhh....I don't like that. At all. Can we ask for a few weeks/months to consider our options/talk to people?
>>
>>30509475
Wait.. so you want to wait in a detention center a couple of weeks/months to make the decision? Without being able to train and constantly monitored by the TSAB?

At least if you are a Contract Mage, while they monitor you, the TSAB will give you training, take you to missions to find answers and maybe let you outside their base if you behave.

Not that I would mind leaving you Jailed for that time, but that would mean the plot would move without you for that long (unless you decide to escape or something).
>>

This is too complicated for you to just decide on one go, you needed time to think, time to decide what to do. “I… I will joining either organization for now. The commander, for the first time since you entered this office, dropped her smile, as she now could only sadly look at you, “I… I think I can understand, Tohma-kun, these last few days have probably been very traumatic for you in several ways, and I am sure that you need some time to think, so please take the time to decide what you wish to do. We, the Section 6 will ensure your protection while until your containment period passes.”

The Cardenal just frowns at your words, “While I can’t say that I agree with your choice, I believe in your right to choose you path, young man. The offer of the Church is still open for you, and I hope that in these days you come to the realization that a path of service is your true calling boy.” The Cardinal leaves the commanding room, leaving you alone with the raccoon woman.
The commander sends a magic signal, and soon the Enforcer Mira enters the room to take you back.

Before you leave Hayate Yagami gives you some parting words, “Tohma-kun, I hope that you come to realize that the best way to protect others is by working with us. You alone can’t protect everything dear to you, but by working together with others, then you can hope to save everyone. That is something it took me a long time to learn, and I hope you take this advice.”
Those words were kind, but the TSAB was something you couldn’t trust that easily, you needed time to think.

Mira wordlessly took you back to your cell, and soon you were back were you began, in the sea of metal bars and concrete.

That night a message appeared in the black book for you…

>Tohma, do you wish for us to break you out?
>Y
>N

>There is only one chance, please answer fast.

Well this is the end of the current part, will give you evaluations and morale gains next time. But prepare for an interesting arc.

Well, for now I will answer whatever questions you guys have, until I go to sleep.

>>30510172
Please tell me you're not going with that prick up there...
>>
>>30510235
Mm, you mean the decision to join the TSAB or the offer of break out... those two are votes I will take next time, but if you choose to break out, expect to be called on it by your TSAB friends.

To be honest, wait till next thread, we will have another Devil help you guys make a decision.
>>
>>30510318
You said answer fast, so I assumed we had to choose now. If possible, it's natural to prefer not getting drafted.
>>
>>30510344
Oh... that was part of the text written to Tohma, by whoever sent it.

Also, consider it less as a draft and more like being forced into a mercenary contract, but as always the choice is yours.
>>
>>30510344
I personally don't want to break out, since being a criminal won't let us do shit. Including having cake with a certain Cute Devil.
>>
Gah, I make it back just in time for the thread to end.

Fuck it. Next time force quest runs on a Wednesday I'm just not going out.

>>30510401
Belkan will there be another thread this weekend?
>>
>>30510137
>N

Just... no. Not only could we have possibly gotten out ourselves, we need to at least give an honest go at the TSAB's offer, really does look to be the best way to get the answers we need, and we might even work in a Joint Taskforce with Vivio during our temporary tenure under the TSAB.

There should be, either Saturday or Sunday, depening on how much free time I end up with.

Also I forgot to add this, you guys obtained this last thread, from your choices.

Devil Link Rank Up!

>Your rank is Promised Devil
>A devil is not someone who should be promises to others, yet you are one who does.
>Keeping your oaths even when they are disadvantageous is something to be admired.
>The fact that you did not escape when given the chance is something she can appreciate.
>But Nanoha still hates your guts, but she can admire that you kept your path.
>>
>>30510681
>not someone who should be promises to others

Originally I was going to correct you but from now on can we keep this exact format for Devil Link messages regardless of what goes in them?

It actually comes of as campy in a really cool way.
>>
>>30510675
Right now Vivio is a normal girl who just likes training and entering sport tournaments and researching the Ancient Belkan Culture, Nanoha is making sure to raise her as a normal girl, and thus Vivio does not have any official rank in either the Church or the TSAB... but that can change easily.

>>30510798
Actually, it should be something like ... who should be making promises to others, but if you like it.

Also the question should be, how you got that Rank Up.. it was not just because you turned yourself in.
>>
>>30510860
Alright, I'll bite. How?
>>
>>30510860
>it was not just because you turned yourself in.

Was it also our promise to Roberto the Robot?
Please tell us.
>>
>>30510973
Mmm, I owe you a certain unlimited question, so sure I will answer in black text.

She was there hidden, when you were talking to Curren. She heard everything and waited for you to make a decision. That is why you ranked up, you kept your promise with Lily and Mira, while making a hard choice when faced with temptation. You kinda passed her test, hurray Tohma.

She wasn't there for the Roberto bit. That would have given you another title.
>>
>>30511056
Oh....oh my~

Nanoha, you sneaky cute little devil.
>>
>>30511056
Oh God.

You just trying to make us all paranoid now Belkan?
>>
>>30511233
You guys should have been paranoid since the beginning, specially this arc. But in that case it has to do with how long you guys too to make a decision regarding Curren, wasting time is a sin, yo.

Also prepare next time, for some Devil Tsun Combat!
>>
>>30511297
>wasting time is a sin, yo.

Not with results like that it ain't
>>
>>30511461
Just remember that not all shadowruns are beneficial to you; specially this arc.

Also, remember that Devil Rank ups only happen when you manage to impress Nanoha, as you rank up more and more, it will become harder to rank up.
