> SOMEWHERE OVER THE ATLANTIC <

“… and we are just about ten minutes away from intercept from the Kleine Fraulein. According to what your Boss tells me, we are to insert you onto that ship whereupon your very important hostage or cargo or something- What did you say it is?”

You are Christine “Chris” Hunter. You’re a fifteen year-old girl, Girl Scout, Spy for the United States, and a Magical Girl known to many as Magical Girl Liberty.

You say, “A kidnapped person.”

You are currently aboard the Sparviero, a light cargo zeppelin owned by a crew of pirates led by the girl standing next to you. Her name is Augusta Valentino, and she is one of the more famous pirates in the Atlantic sector. Today, she’s your escort towards hitting a Nazi cargo zeppelin which Operator #5 traced to have aboard a person of interest.

Your mission, which you chose to accept, is to bring him back to the United States for debriefing. Which won’t exactly be easy considering you’re working with Sky Pirates. Bunch of showoffs they are.

Augusta rolls her eyes. “Typical spies. Always ‘classified classified classified,’” she says mockingly. “You know, if it were up to me, I’d just sink the Zep and come back for the cargo later.”

You roll your eyes and simply walk away from her. The bridge is spacious enough to get some time away from her at least. All around, men and women of various ages work on the systems of the ship, and above you are the gasbags full of hydrogen. Sumire and Rana stand around, Rana in particular seeming in her element while Sumire looks bored as all hell.

You, Rana, and Sumire walk around. Rana in particular seems to be uncharacteristically bouncy and energetic today. Must be the tech.

“Look at that!” yells Rana as she runs up the catwalk. “Hughes Devastators! And a Bristol Balmoral!”

Valentino nods as she drops in next to you three. “The Balmoral is how we plan to get you all onto that kraut airship. We fly it above, open up the bomb-bay doors, you drop onto the roof. Simple as that.”

Rana nods. “Still! It’s a British plane, where did you get it?”

“The same way I get all my planes,” says Valentino, smirking. “From their cold dead hands!” She laughs at that, to which you three are silent. She notices this and stops laughing. “Jeez, take a joke once in a while.”

Sumire crosses her arms, sighing. “Whatever, the faster we get onto that airship, the better. We’ve spent two days tracking this thing and I’m jetlagged like hell.”

Valentino pouts, leaning towards Sumire. “Oh, well you know, my door’s always open if you’re willing to bunk with me…?”

“Captain!” All of you look back at the bridge entrance. One of the crewmembers yells, “The airship is in sight! It’s got a fighter escort, about three Falkes!”

Valentino frowns, then looks at you. “You didn’t tell me they had a fighter escort.”

You shrug. “We didn’t know, that’s why you’re here.”

Valentino grunts, then shouts, “Everyone! To your places! Let’s move, move, move!” Pilots and crew start manning their station. The large 105mm cannons are lowered from the ceiling and brought down to the windows in the side of the zeppelin. The Balena in particular is well-known for being armed with up to thirty guns, not including flak turrets. Valentino runs up to the bridge, barking more orders.

“Fire!” The cannons started opening up, blasting away at the Nazi zep. Kraut tech however was a bit more sturdy than that. The Kleine Fraulein simply took the high explosive shells with impunity, their shots barely scratching the surface.

You quickly help some of the pilots begin their preparation. You crank the lever to open up the bay doors at the bottom of the ship, letting the cool ocean air sweep in. The Hughes Devastators painted in tan and black livery of Valentino’s pirate gang are then dropped one by one through the use of a specialized crane, whereupon they kickstart their engine mid-air and correct.

“The Krauts are deploying more planes! Henschel Falkes and Hellhounds coming our way!” yells a crewmember over the intercom. “Man the guns!”

Rana grins like the little girl she is. “Falkes! German imitations of the Hughes Bloodhawks carrying four 30mm cannons for anti-zeppelin operatio-“

The hull nearby her explodes. You run over, helping her up. “You okay?”

Rana nods. “That was awesome!”

Sumire runs up to you two, “Now you’re getting into the swing of things, rookie!”

The hull of the Balena starts getting blasted to hell by the Kleine Fraulein’s sixteen quad 30mm autocannons, packed to the brim with Rana describes as mine-shell ammunition. “Very powerful and very explosive!” she says.

With the last Devastator out, Valentino runs out of the bridge and hops onto the other end of the railing over the doors. “Right! Get into the Balmoral! I got my best pilot flying you! You follow me and stay tight!” She drops down into the open sky, then begins glowing brilliantly as she transforms into the girl she actually is.

>> MECHA MAGICAL GIRL CENTAURO <<

Around her legs were sleek metallic capsules, with each propellers span fast enough to propel her through the air. She gained curved armor plates about her body, and a free-handed 20mm cannon.

Sumire grins, then says, “Time to go then!”

You all hop aboard the British zeppelin bomber. The pilot climbs in and starts the throttle. You sit up next to him, while Rana and Sumire stand in back, bracing.

Rana yells, “This is pretty dangerous! What if we get killed?!”

> “We’ll be fine!”
> “Just follow us!”

You say, “Just follow us! We’ll be fine!” You look at the pilot and whisper. “We’ll be fine right?”

The pilot says, “You see these wings?” You look out the cockpit window and indeed the wings are folded up. “I gotta fold them out, start the engines, all in free fall and with krauts up our asses.”

“… you didn’t answer my question.”

“I don’t need to.”

With that, the Balmoral is dropped, shaking you three magical girls in your seats. The pilot expertly works the switches and levers as the engines start, and the wings start coming down. You can hear the sound of planes brushing by and blazing away with cannons and machine guns. You feel yourself get pressed back into your seat and the blood start rushing out of your head as the pilot forces the Balmoral’s nose up. Finally, you’re in level flight. Black clouds of flak burst around your plane while Falkes, Hellhounds, and Devastators buzz around like angry bees.

Mecha Magical Girl Centauro flies up in front of you, waving her arm. “Hey, can you hear me?” she says over the radio.

You switch the radio on and say, “Yeah! Loud and clear!”

“Follow me, I’ll get you through this!”

The Balmoral tails Centauro as she starts forcing her way through the scattered dogfights. With her cannon, she blasts a Falke coming at you right out of the sky, letting its flaming carcass speed right into the drink.

Sumire yells, “Why does a Cargo zep like this need an escort this big!?”

You yell back, “Could be worse! They could have magical girls with them too!”

“Good point!”

The Balmoral and Centauro fly right underneath the Zep, threading between the strafing wires to keep planes from coming too close. Centauro immediately pulls up afterwards, as does the Balmoral, and suddenly the plane starts rattling.

“What’s that!?” yells Sumire.

“We’re taking fire!” is probably what the pilot would yell if the Balmoral’s tail hadn’t sheared off from the 30mm quadcannon fire. The sudden gust throws Sumire and Rana right out of the plane.

“SUMIRE!” you yell. You unbuckle out of your seat and jump out. It’s Hero time.

>> MAGICAL GIRL LIBERTY! <<

You enter free fall right over the Zep, Sumire, and Rana falling right ahead of you. They both immediately transform as well.

>> MAGICAL GIRL LIGHTNING! <<

>> MAGICAL GIRL BOMBER! <<

Lightning hits the top of the zep with a prominent thud, denting the roof. Bomber simply belly flops, not knowing her landing strategy. Those cannons will rip them to pieces once they turn. You bring your shields together and speed up your fall.

You rip right through the ceiling, surprising the Kraut crew. “ALARM!” one of them shouts. Down the catwalk storm a five-man squad of Nazi Storm Elite with machine guns and everything.

You throw your right hand shield at them. It impacts the first Storm Elite with a loud whack, immediately rebounding and hitting a crewmember, then returning to your hand. You raise your shields and rush the remaining Elites who steady their stances, then fire their machine guns at you, the rounds ricocheting off and hitting walls, crewmembers, and other important machinery integral to working the turrets.

Once you’re point blank, a Storm Elite draws his knife and tries charging at you. Big mistake, you uppercut him in the chin, shattering his gasmask and sending him flying into the ceiling with a meaty thud. Another Storm Elite tries whacking you with the butt of his machine gun, but you kneecap him with the rim of your other shield, then smash the back of his neck as he falls.

“Die!” yells one of them as he rips a pipe out of the wall, creating a leak of steam, then tries to hit you like he’s Babe Ruth. Not today, you slam his arm away then thrust your shield into his gut. And for the coup de grace, you grab his collar and then run him into the wall, smashing his skull against it.

The last Storm Elite steps back and cocks his machine gun. Nope. You throw your shield at him, breaking his face. Your shield rebounds back to your hand, and he stands there for a few seconds, dazed, before falling over, limp.

You sigh. “Drop it, Lightning. We’ve got to work fast. We’ve got to disable the engines-“

Rana raises her hand. “I’ll go! I’ll have the nacelles offline in no time.”

“Go with Bomber, Lightning, I think I can handle it.”

Lightning frowns. “You’re making me go with the rookie?”

“Now, Lightning,” you say. Bomber looks a bit hurt at that. You sigh. “This is Rana’s first outing. I want someone to go with her, that’s you.”

“Hmph,” says Lightning as she magically withdraws her naginata back into her hand. “Fine, I suppose. Come on, Rookie.”

Bomber nods. “O-okay.” She looks back at you, concerned.

“Don’t worry,” you say. “She’s reliable. She’ll keep you safe.”

With that, you go separate ways. The zeppelin itself has several levels with which the hostage could be on. Cargo is at the bottom towards the hangar, and that is the most likely place you’ll find him. That means having to fight your way through the zeppelin. Of course, you don’t rule out any alternate options. You look for any maps, then you find a dead engineer next to one of the turrets. You pick off his map and look over it for ways to cargo. However, upon reading you realize that this isn’t any ordinary zeppelin. It’s a lot more lived in with quarters, armories, and other facilities.

What does a Cargo Zep need with all that?

Whatever, you figure out two possible ways down to cargo.

> Through the Barracks. A lot of guards are likely but it appears to be the fastest way down there.

You head down the ladder at brisk pace then start running down the metallic hallways. This is the first level of the barracks, probably reserved for the gun crews up top. It’s completely deserted.

The second level down actually does have guards, but when they see a Magical Girl coming at them, they immediately leg it in the other direction, calling for the Alarm. You follow them, shields ready to deploy at a moments-

You’re clotheslined by a metallic fist. You fall to floor, then immediately roll to the side as the floor you were once were on is now a small crater.

You look at your assailant. A Nazi wearing a huge bulky suit of armor. Or more rather, a Nazi’s head on top of a huge bulky suit of armor. His face looks emaciated, but in particular he looks incredibly angry to see you. He roars at you, splitting your ears.

And crack goes his hand. He screams a guttural roar in pain as she grips his broken hand. Magical weaponry, they’re tough to break.

You uppercut your shield into his chin, throwing spittle and blood upon the ceiling, then punch him in the gut, folding him like a house of cards.

You raise your shield, about to deliver the finishing blow, before your arm is grabbed by another Magische Jaeger. You’re immediately thrown down the hallway, bouncing and impacting before coming to a stop right at the elevator.

You lock your feet and bring you shields up. The Jaegers all roar as they charge at you.

Then you slam on the button for the elevator door. The doors slide open as you hug the wall. The Jaegers, like crocodiles, do not adjust well to sudden direction change, and thus they immediately slam into the back of the elevator, falling over each other in a twisted heap.

You spin your right-hand shield until it’s hot enough, then toss it at the cables holding the elevator up. The cables snap and whip around as the elevator plummets to the bottom of the shaft, the Jaegars screaming all the way down to a metal grave.

You smirk, letting your shield come back to you, then pop back into your hand.

Time to run now though.

You quickly run down the hall and head down the stairs to the next level. The Zeppelin shakes as another round hits it. That instantly reminds you that there are pirates out there. Hopefully Centauro can hold her own for just a bit longer.

You keep running on down then finally you make it to the cargo area. It’s nothing but huge stretches of crates bigger than you. You walk briskly around, for any sign of your man.

You again punch him in the hut, only for him to not even react to this. Instead, he smacks you away, slamming you against a crate.

> Try and get the key from Engelhardt (37)

You leave Lightning and Bomber to deal with the Storm Ace.

“Ah, are you looking for this?” Engelhardt playfully spins the key on its ring with her finger. “Come take it.”

You rush at her, only for her to vanish when you strike her. What the-

You suddenly feel your breath taken from you as Engelhardt punches you in the gut, sending you doubling over. “Pathetic,” says Engelhardt. “And here I thought you had potential, that we could make a Magical Girl out of you.”

You slam your shield into the floor and stand up. “Shut up!” You go to punch her again, only for her to fade into nothingness again. “Oh dear,” she says. “You are making this so painful to do, don’t you think?”

You look around, only to see lots of Colonel Engelhardts surrounding you, holding up keys. They laugh at you, all at once.

“Liberty!” You look up to see Bomber coming down on top of you. “Heads up!”

You bring your shield up and let Bomber gracefully land on top of it. She cocks her M1921 Thompsons then fires. You magically spin your shield around and let the rounds start flying everywhere.

The apparitions of Colonel Engelhardt disintegrate into thin air, fading away as they are ventilated by each shot.

You stop the spinning, then let Bomber get off. She says, “Didn’t- Didn’t think you would do that,” she says, doubling over in nausea.

You say, “Shake it off. She’s somewhere around here, where’s Lightning?” She points over to the Storm Ace, who’s busy fighting Magical Girl Lightning with disturbing ease. Every blow she strikes, he blocks as if he can’t be bothered to even fight back.

“Come on you bitch!” yells Lightning, bleeding out the side of her mouth and her face bruised and scratched all to hell. “I can take you anyday!” The Storm Ace punches her, causing you both to cringe in sympathetic pain as she falls over. The Storm Ace gives her a minute to get back up and try again.

“You see, Liberty.” You look over to see Colonel Engelhardt, holding the key to Fortress and Mr. Joanes’ cell. She walks calmly towards you, cigarette between her lips. “My little friend over there is quite adept at hunting Magical Girls. It’s what he was built for. Now, I think the time for games is over. Shall you come and claim this key?”

You motion over to Lightning. “Go help her,” you say. Bomber nods then runs to help Lightning. You start the walk to Colonel Engelhardt.

“A wise man said, Nicht Kleckern sondern Klotzen. If you’re going to get this key, you should do it now.”

You start at a run and throw a punch at her. She simply dodges it. “Too slow,” she says. You grit your teeth and throw another punch at her, then a shield bash, everything, to which she dodges as if your moves were a slow moving car.

Engelhardt pauses. “Come on, I’m not even that much older than you,” she says. “You can do it.”

You throw your shield at her, to which she finally manages to take a hit, falling onto the ground. You run over to her and bend over to take the key from her, only for her to quickly roll over and kick you in the knee. You double over in pain as she tries to punch you.

“Not today!” you dodge it, then jump up and show her your boot. She flies back into a crate and slumps down, out of it.

You shrug your shoulders quickly then rip the key out of her hands. You then run on over to the cage and unlock it for Fortress and Mr. Joanes to escape.

You ask Fortress, “Where’s Lightning?” She points out Lightning and the Storm Ace, who have managed to convene their battle on top of a huge crate.
>>
>>30510184
“Come on!” Lightning is in an even worse state, her clothes are rip and torn, exposing wounded and cut skin. Her face is a bloody pulped mess. “I-… I can keep fighting you overgrown bully!”

The Storm Ace grabs her by the neck and lifts her up in the air. Bomber comes down and fires her guns at full blast at him, only for the rounds to simply wash over his incredible armor and his powerful electric shield. He throws Lightning at her, knocking her off the crate and onto the ground.

Fortress says, “We got to help them!” Fortress jumps up then transforms.

>> MECHA MAGICAL GIRL FORTRESS! <<

She hovers in the air, legs similar to Centauro but bristling with small guns. Her arms are just the same, containing lots of little guns as well, not even counting her gauntlets.

The Storm Ace notices you two then jumps down to meet you.

You raise your shield as the Storm Ace comes over and punches. There’s a visible dent, an imprint of his fist as it just barely stops from hitting your face. You even felt yourself losing a few inches as you sank into the floor from the sheer power.

“Hey, tough guy!” The Storm Ace looks up to see Fortress materialize two huge bombs into her hands, then proceed to throw them at him. He steps back, then lets the bomb impact him.

You feel the explosion wash over your shields. You look around to see that the Storm Ace has survived. Damn it, what is this guy made of? You decide to take advantage of it however. You run up to him and whack him in the shin, only flinching just a bit. He tries to kick you, but you raise your shield in time to get whacked right into the side of the Zep, bumping it. The Storm Ace runs over then aims to punch you again, only for you to dodge.

He punches right through the side, ripping a hole through the Zeppelin. He tries to pull his fist back, but he’s completely stuck.

Now’s your chance.

> SPECIAL MOVE!: LIBERTY BASH!

You wind your right hand shield back and let it spin and spin. Soon, the shield starts glowing white-hot. The Storm Ace starts trying to make an effort to pull his fist out as he looks at you, but it is far too late for that.

You yell as you throw your punch.

The Zeppelin shakes and rumbles, bolts fly out of their casings, and alarms are started as you create a massive hole in the side of the Zeppelin. The Storm Ace goes flying out, slowly speeding right into the ocean.

You pant a bit as your group begins to regroup. Bomber brings a very wounded Lightning in on her shoulder. Fortress hovers above you, shouting, “We have to go!”

You nod, then start your way to the hangar. You ask Bomber on the way, “Did you disable their engines?”

Bomber nods, still carrying Lightning. “Most of them, but they should be slowed to a crawl at this point!”

Fortress nods. “Good! How are we going to get out of here?”

You say, “We came here with a band of pirates, if they’re still here, hopefully we can get away on their zeppelin. However, if they’re not, we’ll just see if we can steal one of these planes. You know how to fly Fortress?”

Fortress nods. “Born and raised.”

You bust through the heavy duty doors into the hangar, to find a huge contigent of stormtroopers and Storm Elites. You can see a Dornier 27 ready for launch. That can probably work. “Alarm! Amerikaner!” yells one of the Storm Elites.

“Get Mr. Joanes out of here! I’ll cover you!”

“Oh dear, oh dear!” yells Mr. Joanes as Fortress transforms back into her civilian self then runs out towards the Do 27. Bomber and Lightning follow behind, slowed by Lightning’s condition. The series of catwalks allows them to at least get by safely while you handle the Nazis coming up behind them.

A Storm Elite charges you, yelling. You whack him in the face, then throw him over the side and into the ocean. Another Storm Elite fires at a rocket at you, which you deflect right into the side of the Zeppelin.

More Stormtroopers head up and fire their guns, you deflect their bullets easily however, and even sweep your shield to send them right back at them.

“We’re in!” yells Fortress. “Come on!”

You nod. Time to blow this popstand. Suddenly, a girl lands right in front of you. Then another girl, and another, and another, all wearing uniforms of the Reich.

“Just where do you think you’re going?” says the one in front of you, grinning evily.

“You think you can come onto our ship and just waltz away like nothing happened?” says the one with the braids.

“We don’t like Americans who think they own everything!” says the one smiling warmly.

“So please,” says the one giggling a bit. “Won’t you die for us?”

You throw your shield at the girl in front of you, she frontflips over it then draws knives. She slashes and thrusts at you expertly, her knives glowing many colors from what you assume to be anti-magical energy. You bring your shield up and block her attacks, her knives creating huge sparkles of magic and energy like the embers of a welding tool.

The one to your left jumps up and draws a rapier then begins stabbing and thrusting away, it also glowing with anti-magic energy. The other two hop behind those two, drawing a court sword and a sabre.

“Give up!” yells Knives. “It’s four against one!”

You nod. “I know!”

Your shield returns, pinging off Sabre and causing the rest a good amount of confusion. Good.

You let it land into your free hand, then push your way through the four of them. Court Sword almost flips right over the railing, almost going into the drink before being saved by Rapier.

You’re almost to the plane, this is it. Then you feel a sharp biting in your leg. You fall over, screaming in pain. Knives has thrown one of her knives at you, stabbing right into your ankle.

You look over, you’re at the manual release. You could let them go right now. Bomber yells at you, trying to encourage you to come. “Liberty!”

You stand up and let the pain encourage you to move faster. You limp your way over, letting the shouts of your companions press you on. Knives throws another knife at you, which you deflect with ease.

Rapier jumps and lands in front of you, brandishing her anti-magic rapier. She thrusts, leading you to smack it away and then uppercut her in the face. She goes flying down the catwalk. Court attempts to attack you from behind, but you clothesline you, then gut her with the rim of your shield.

Sabre lastly lands in front of you again, swiping and slashing away on your shields. You tread on her foot, to which she yelps in pain. You bash her with the flat of your shield, sending her over the railing. She manages to grab on for dear life.

You finally hop onto the plane, screaming in pain. “Go! Fortress! GO!” Fortress hits the release, and the planes drops right out of the hangar, the engine coming to life and the propeller blade spinning up.

Finally, you’re out of this godforsaken mess.

You move yourself to a seat, cringing in pain at the knife still in your ankle. Where the hell is Centauro?

Bomber says, “Looks like Centauro bugged out.”

You nod. “Figures,” you say slowly. “Damn it. Fortress, you think you can get us to back Stateside?”

Fortress says, “I’ll see what I can do, planes are my specialty.”

With the engine nacelles on the Kleine Fraulein crippled and most of their fighter escort down, it looks like they won’t be able to pursue. Looks like you’re safe.

“Bomber, how’s Lightning?”

Bomber has Lightning relaxing in her lap. She’s bruised, beat up, wounded all to hell. Bomber says, “That Ace really did a number on her.”

Fortress says, “The Storm Ace ain’t something to shake a stick at. I just wonder if the damn guy is even human.”

You nod, resting in a seat. You pull the knife out of your ankle, yelping a bit as your body tenses. Your body will regenerate that no problem. You ask Mr. Joanes, “How did you get caught? Why did they even catch you?”

Mr. Joanes sighs, adjusting his glasses slightly. “Atlantis. They know about it. The Nazis want to find it, the power sources of Atlantis. Use it.”

Fortress asks, “For what?”

Mr. Joanes shrugs. “That I don’t know. One thing’s for sure. It can’t be anything good.”

You sigh, closing your eyes. Bomber says, “We won’t let them do that right?”

You say, “Never.”

Then you finally drift to sleep.
