People are trying to rebuild despite the horrors or difficulty. Its a time of new beginnings arising from the end and its time when a certain groups shall rise above. Many things have also happened from Mourning Day to the mighty Ghoulish Krulsades and much much more. Human Survivalists. The Aenglish draw their ancestry back to what was once Pre-Fall histories greatest Empire of its antiquity, whose extent was so large it was said that three moons smiled on it constantly. As time moved on however, and quite close to the Fall, their power and holdings waned and they soon found themselves surrounded the other great Superpowers, one of whom was a colony of theirs that had rebelled. Though they were not as nationalistically minded as the Merikan exceptionalist, nor as much of an industrial powerhouse as the Red Army, neither truly power mad for empire the Darwinyan's or the Kokaidans near the Fall, they still looked up to virtues and proud traditions of Empire, Aengland, and the Crown which never dies, though the heir is long missing. Thanks to their numerous previous colonial territories, many Aenglish were able to flee their capital island Megacity of Lendin before the great Fall would surely of decimated it, though rumor's exist that it still survives along with the monarch.Perhaps it was their natural talent for establishing colonies and homes in even the harshest of environments that we find these group of Survivors here. These survivors are Aenglish, though few of the old world would've called most of them them “True Aengs.” The reason for this is that, apart from a small group of people whose families do trace themselves back to the capital, most are descended of a collection of fierce colonists, from places such as Streya, Ifreca, and Endya, who had their own particular and sometimes peculiar culture and flare. But though their accents and culture may differ slightly they have no doubts that they are all of them Aenglishmen. These particular survivors hail from longstanding traditions of the huntsmen and explorers.
>>30527405For this reason others who value the hunt, such as Hillybill's, certain Bandits, even known and sometimes infamous lines of mutant respect them in varying degree's, and it is in fact not uncommon for them to be on very good terms with even the most "savage" of Tribals, whom they are known to employ and mingle with.Even when not respected they are at least know of their habit for civility even in the face of hostility as well as: “...their particular and peculiar propensity for a high degree of, occasionally necessary yet ever eloquent, displays of verbosity; the manner of which both stems from and integrates with a longstanding and deep socio-cultural connection to -and to whom upon which it has fallen upon them the possession of requirement, excellence, and attainment of- the Aenglish Language.”Still, there are others who do not look so kindly upon them, who consider them relics of a forgotten age or simply as more human prey. Even still, they have the uncanny ability to hunt things FAR larger or more deadier than the average human normally would. Perhaps the only reason they manage to survive at all.
Nice to see this again. Backing the Human Survivalists or the Parasite Mutants idea.

wait did we die in the old thread, also Mutants got fluff Ive been saving.Megacorp bio-weapon research facility, codenamed Halloween Town was abandoned, after the Organic supercomputer, dubbed The Lexicon that was running the place was corrupted a contamination agent from the facility, and thus was able to supersede, his directives. Bio-Weapon Project codenamed "Tiamat"(that would be us) broke out of containment and continued to survive in the lab. The organism was designed to be a hyper-evolving apex predator, that would be controlled by a psi link. The psi link to the Queen would then in turn all following broods. Rolled 53>>30533578nope they are really shitty at it.
>>30533602well a precursor to sclerotin are quinones and if you break down hydrogen peroxide into hydroxide radicals (something pretty much all animals can do naturally), when mixed certain quinones will react exothermically with the hydroxide radicals and flash boil, if you contain it and give it a nozzle then boiling chemicals will come flying out. Its what Bombardier Beetles do for self defense. I mean its not fire or anything but boiling chemicals hurt like a bitch.
>>30533729get it in the eyes or something if the target is well armored. I assume that since we are substantially larger than beetles we could send a good bit of it flying.
>>30533773>>30533729That's neat.We could just say "develop a flamethrower" though.
>>30533684can only drones and worms burrow?
>>30533804yea but I like to give a biological justification for my mutations, its fun and it makes it a litter harder for someone to say "thats stupid and could never happen, denied"
>>30533804besides im still holding a cat or 2 in the bag.
>>30533809I think only drones have the claws.
>>30533729That the most complicated way I have ever heard the term "acid spit" no need to jump through all those hoops. I for one am against going full Starcraft and making hydralisks.
>>30533804you can always just mix something with a low flashpoint in and it becomes a flamethrower but lets take things one step at a time.
>>30533895well they don't have to be hydralisks but having the ability to launch projectiles isn't a bad plan
Rolled 50>>30533502This has consensus, btw.
Rolled 8>>30533502I forgot to roll for it. Go sight be on sight thunder brood hooooooo.
>>30534022But we can skip the carapace for now and get the mystery box mutation?
Rolled 41>>30534137 i guess...(rolling for mystery box)
Rolled 40>>30533502I guess
Rolled 3if we are going to go for the mystery bow we will need more (and hopefully better) rolls
Rolled 27>>30534165Rolling for the box.
Rolled 10>>30534370>>30534165>>30533233>>30533215I don't even know what roll we use for the mystery box.

Rolled 22>>30534425Well. I wonder what that'll do.Also, mystery box roll.
>>30534438fingers crossed this is good for us
Rolled 8>>30534451Not without remembering Ramona.Personally I'm down for looking into the psy-veins/Nexus some more.
Rolled 53>>30534452That roll was for the guys trying to ready against us. Brace for impact.
>>30534451i think we should try to catch them before they finish what they are trying to do, but have the swarmlings distract them, while the worms borrow and come up from underneath

>>30534846Hero. Every time.
we also need more rolls for that mystery box

>>30534920See>>30534773 I think
Rolled 28more rolls for mystery box then
Rolled 76Mystery Box
>>30534998im not sure what to make of it since he deleted it...
Rolled 8>>30534846Super Mutation is getting voted out...That's a pity.A super mutation could've been applied to our entire force, a hero is but one unit.
>>30535049Heroes make the world go round'
>>30535049but a hero may bring us more than one super mutation at some point in the future
>>30535108I like the idea of getting a robot builder to give the AI a body to move around in so he can spread his brood corruption. Meta gaming a bit do you guys think maybe the robots from before are still in the base?
>>30535163Not meta, AI said that there are and he wants us to help him reign them in.
>>30535190Dam it, Some how forgot that.(Now to go hit myself.) Maybe they were what was killing our scouts at the start.
Rolled 85>>30535214Maybe they are the odd humanoid things that are prepping to attack us.
>>30535190totally missed that one
>>30535214All we can do is hope to discover them(or ask AI where they are)>>30534846Hey AI, where are those robots?
To much going on and no time to do it all. After the camps. That should be our next main goal. >>30535247That would work well. Have the diggers run a line from them to the AI.

Rolled 94>>30535370auto applied. >>30535366You had some fucking bad rolls for random mutation I allowed a few more for pities sake you should of seen what you would of gotten otherwise.
Rolled 66>>30535321I kinda like smelly. Can we work on refining it into a spray? Like a skunk, blinding and utterly repulsive.>evolve: stink spray
Rolled 52>>30535417Can we un-apply it?
Rolled 44>>30535420Indeed, if we're going to be stuck with it we might as well make it utterly toxic and disgusting, so only mutants and people in power/hazmat armors can encroach on our demesne. In fact, if this is a crit I'd like that to be the plan.
>>30535441no dont do that, this is biology. failure isn't failure, its opportunity. >evolve the smelly chemical into an air born neurotoxin that doesnt affect us, but instead makes people confused and dizzy.
>>30535485I think we should deal with the people that are about to do something to us first.
Rolled 13>>30535485>>30535465I can go for this plan.
Rolled 70>>30535485I like it, then maybe we can psionicly suggest that they fight amongst themselves.
>>30535485Should not have rolled. Next action I'm all over that.

>>30535600Don't forget our new homie creeper.
Rolled 51hm so what is consensus?
>>30535625I don't exactly get creeper, nor do I get the concept of creep. So I don't feel confident executing plans using ether of them, even though they are essential to our well being.
>>30535670>>30535420>>30535485These two. Would you like us to reroll?
my vote is for this so that hopefully we can keep word of us from spreading>>30535600
Rolled 20Kind of amazed we are not gungho about taking out the near by enemies. My vote is for >>30535600Swarming in a infecting and infesting every thing. If it's metal let the AI have it's fun.
Rolled 40>>30535600Fine, if we do this then at least send some commanders and creeper along with them. Vote

Rolled 54>>30535891Agreed, but you should try rolling like this.
>>30535918i have resigned to the fact that my rolls will be bad, im just praying the i dont crit fail
>>30535946It's all in the wrists
Rolled 40>>30535875If we can split the army up some. Have the worms hit a few of the monsters on their way to infect and help weaken them. Have the diggers make back tunnels for sending some of the swarmlings for a attack for behind.Humans if the creeper can range infest hit them to weaken them and fall back. Then swarm to finish. Is my vote.
>>30535700I still would like an answer on this one...
Rolled 67>>30536009This is a good idea, however I believe Creeper can be used more efficiently by having him hide at the edge of our infested domain until the humans have passed before infesting the hallways behind them.We can't station any troops with him though, due to our severe penalty to stealth. We should look into causing our infestation to secrete whatever Smelly stuff we do so that we can operate within our zones without the stealth penalty.I do completely agree with hitting the monsters hard with the worms to spawn units to combat the humans though.
>>30536069Fair. Just want to be careful not to lose our ceeper hero and the AI hero out side.
>>30536060well if creep or infestation is anything like starcraft, then creep is kind of like an extension of our lair that is "alive" but cant really move or things like that, but instead make the terrain more difficult to traverse for our enemies, and easier to traverse for our creatures. It also is able to sense creatures that are on it, to let us know when some enemies are incoming. Its like our base is terraforming the area around it.
>>30536069well if we are doing some kind of 2 pronged attack then you want to divide your forces without really dividing your forces, for example while our swarmlings and worms take care of the humans, have a drone dig a tunnel out to the monsters on the edge of our infestation, then use the infestors, and the creeper to slog the monsters down. Then throw the full offensive force against the humans, crushing them quickly, before swinging around to hit the monsters from a second side in a pincer maneuver. Basicly lets rip some pages out of Hitlers playbook.
>>30536215So we need to improve our creep for the next 5 turns. We don't have to infest a large area, but I want it to mean death f you touch our creep.
Rolled 6>>30536340oh yea and a roll
>>30536347assuming of coarse that that is how creep or infestation or whatever works in the setting.
Rolled 69>>30536215Starcraft creep is for pussies.Anyway what is the plan...
>>30536408would you care to explain your version then?
Rolled 3>>30536424nah you have to find that shit out first.Basic knowledge is that brood infestation creates its own ecosystem over time that seeks to override the native one. Basically it serves to nourish, enhance, defend, breed and conquer.
Rolled 12>>30536340Alright, fine. Seconding.
Rolled 48>>30536340We should also have AI Jal throw electronic countermeasures at the humans if possible (hack all of their shit), or attempt to extend his corruption onto their equipment.
Rolled 89>>30536408I think the monsters will be faster than the humans. But yeah with the plan i think we can make it work. >>30536340 For the Brood!>>30536578Nice throw this in as well.
Rolled 88>>30536510So an action like>make the creeper shape the creep in defensible locations, bottlenecks and high ground, to give us a combative edge against the oncoming invaders.
I already rolled for my plan once and dont think youll get me to do it again
Rolled 95>>30536626The action is>Basic 1Take military action against the monsters and humans. The plan is what has been described.
Rolled 81>>30536671Ok rolling
>>30536671Because EDE would dick us for it if we didn't, the plan is these>>30536340>>30536578
>>30536340hm alright.Forces dispatched.Meanwhile at the human perimeter on the edge of the infested zone."Damn bugs coming out of fucking nowhere and here I thought dem monsters would keep them down.""Hah you kiddin these fuckers are worst then mutants when it comes to squishing.""WE GOT COMPANY," screamed out a sentry."Aw shit fucking swarmlings I HATE swarmlings."Don't we all? Alright fuckers and fuckees lets start the fun? And remember to use protection also don't let swarmlings crowd yah as you'll be more fucked the a hot female non virgin slave in a Slavers Pitt."With that the enemy has begun the attack making sure to keep flamers up front roasting our forces decimating them. "Well shit these ones ARE weak to becoming extra crispy after all.""Told you this place be cold I figured it wasn't likely they got some resistance."That was when our worms burrowed up from below.AH YOU STUPID FUCKS GET OFF THE DAMNED CREEP WE GOT WORMS. It looked as if we might be able to stand a chance as the ones who got overeager and advanced deeper in infested zone got nailed by worms opening them up for the swarms. Sadly the humans quickly rebounded performing a slow retreat back with plenty of cover fire. Despite our best efforts even with many of their flamers down and having to be replaced with others our forces still couldn't quite get them, but hey at least the suffered SOME losses. Human victory
>>30536787Mmkay, so we're dead?
>>30536787Well now know what frosty was for.
>flamers>cqc>not roasting all of your friendliesthese guys must be clones of Neo or something.
>>30536891You have to understand that our enemies are always far better equipped than we can imagine, their power armor probably shrugs off flame like it's water.
>>30536787Second operation.Drone tunnels expanded underground towards the monsters who by this time have struck within our infested zone. Which made it easy AND gave our infestor a bonus so not too many complaints there. That was when our forces with creeper erupted. That was also when things turned against us. Turns out the monsters somehow knew we were coming and tore right into us. Creeper did mange to unleash a Infest taking down some of them and making them our own, but that could sadly do only so much. Shortly after that what remained of our offensive force came down swinging around to strike at them. This showed some effects as the larger monsters were not quite equipped to deal with the nasty swarmlings and they were a bit occupied. Sadly though not all these monsters were really big in fact most weren't we didn't have quite neough stuff to draw those ones attention and many larger ones turned out to be quite adapt at taking out our kind. This time we managed to bloody the bastards but in the end they won. Bloody Victory Monsters EMERGENCY DEFENSIVE SPAWN ACTIVATED.Broodling surge commencing. >>30536891sadly they were smart enough to create their area outside the infested zone(aka the ski resort). So they had space and they weren't that stupid.
>>30536787Did AI Jal not attempt to corrupt and/or hack their equipment?
Rolled 46Why the fuck didn't it roll...>>30536971They weren't really using hi tech or anything I could easily access. Otherwise yes I would have.
Rolled 27>>30536989hm kay need some rolls people also action?
>>30536989They're not using anything Hi-tech, eh?
Rolled 6I warned you chucklefucks that Brood is fucking nightmare especially if you ignore mutant.
>>30536989Did the human forces seem to be affected by our smell at all?
Rolled 43>>30537098Oh boy did they part of the reason they stayed away from our infested area. Shit stank to high heaven.>>30537082Affirmative best I found was some shitty radio...which they avoided using.
We took a major beating. This time deal with monsters first build up our numbers. Then ready a new plan for the humans before they grow. >>30537091Jai do you have a idea where the robots are?
mutate us up some web spitting action and tie them up I sayhttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dugl3tbCroIminutes 24 and 28 for inspiration.
>>30537324If it only were so easy. You're going to have to be more creative than that to save us here.
>>30537324with the spitting spider the silk actually contracts once it makes contact to really lock whatever it is down.
>>30537360listen to what the guy says at 17:20
Rolled 95>>30537131You didn't even try to figure mutants out first properly before doing Brood.>>30537147Stuck in the vault most likely.
>>30537439Not my fault, I just wanted to do some british tribal-vivors>>30537432Thing is, the monsters we're facing have stuff like that but nastier already. Genie took the gloves off for the civ, you probably aren't going to find anything in nature to top his imagination.
>>30537439Can you open the vault or do we need to break in?
Rolled 100>>30537486...Think I am gonna take that as a backhanded compliment.>>30537570Break in most likely. Unless you can somehow route AI JAL into its network so he has access to the door commands.
>>30537570We would almost certainly need to break in.Then what? Also, what makes you think we can find it?Oh right, Jal.
Rolled 99>>30537590tfw third 100.Well fuck. Now I have to check to see what roll that is for...
>>30537607Not to mention that 99 right there.
>>30537486I can certainly think of things, problem is they are all awful complex, i was trying to think of something that we could manage in one turn, if we were just going crazy I would say that we should evolve the DNA to make the poison of poison dart frogs, which really comes from the beetles they eat, then develop the ability to store viruses like a wasp uses to disable the immune system of a caterpillar. then turn the poison dna into a virus. we of coarse would have already evolved the proper DNA to code for the proper RNA that would deactivate the RNA that codes for the enzymes that create the poison and or the ability to sequester the poison itself (like the dart frogs). when we attack enemies catch the virus, virus injects DNA coding for lethal poison, their own body creates the poison and they keel over, if we wanted to be really mean we could make the virus communicable, they all catch the virus from each other and they all keel over.
Rolled 66>>30537590ah yeesss I has its nows. Oh fuck is it gonna be funny. Now to see what you do so I can confirm that is whats gonna happen.
>>30537599Yup. But right now seeing what we can do for our troops. If we can fall back into the vault we could have a better defense. But it seems best thing to do is recover and work on a new attack or anti fire upgrade, but it could be to late for the upgrade. So maybe the improving of our chemical weapons. >>30537650or that.
Rolled 81>>30537590>>30537607>>30537663NNOONOT AGAIN DICE GODDESS.
>>30537650Instant-win buttons like that tend not to do so hot in EDE's civs. If tree frogs do it, what makes you think that tens of thousands of monster strains that are being engineered to be deadly haven't already developed something like that, and the others developed defenses against it?You're doing good, but you have to break outside of the box.
>>30537667I agree we should beef up for a little bit. drag whatever corpses are left over from our fights with the monsters and the humans back to the base and see if they have any noteworthy mutations that we can steal, also I heard we infected some monsters, if we have any of those left over we should thoroughly examine those too.
>>30537710>>30537667I was under the impression that the purge of us is still ongoing.
>>30537698well yea overly complicated becomes convoluted and leads to poor execution.
>>30537727I was under the impression that we managed to get the humans and monsters to retreat despite heavy casualties.
Rolled 24>>30537727Broodling surge is a basically the last line of defense.>>30537710Those monsters got killed fighting their former comrades.>>30537759Monsters are still advancing their just bloodied.Humans are sticking to their perimeter after losing some guys.
>>30537771well i guess ill wait for all these rolls of yours to play out first
>>30537771Cool monsters only. Need to use the creep. I'm thinking pit fall traps for the bigger ones. Creep just hides the hole. Then chew their legs off and go for the eyes up top.
>>30537734That plan wasn't necessarily overly complicated (though the way you phrased it was).Develop an immuno-suppressant virus that acts extremely fast, and a virus that (really does anything viruses normally do) rewrites host biology to produce substances toxic to their physiology. But, again, I'm sure some of the monsters developed mutations along those lines at some point and the others just evolved better immune systems to combat it.That aside, monsters are a vast array of species, and making any virus that's transmissible across all of them would take a long time. Also, we're better as broods at making macroscopic organisms than microscopic ones. Especially seeing as we didn't take a brood mother.
Rolled 32>>30537804Your action has to pan out first before I can use them as I said earlier.
>>30537663Hmm....>>30537842We pulse the psy-veins with power from the nexus.
>>30537842does that mean that last turn completed?
Rolled 94>>30537882I like the cut of your jib, kid.
Rolled 22>>30537932>>30537882We should, of course, couple this with a military action.
>>30537882The idea here being that these monsters didn't decide to swarm at us on their own, and didn't know to expect our forces on their own. That means they're being directed either with pheromones, mechanical implants, or psionics. Our smell would've fucked up pheromones, mechanical implants are...unlikely, so hopefully we can scramble their psionic direction and be able to strike them while they're disoriented.Alternately, it'd frenzy them. I welcome better ideas either way.
>>30537842Do we have any hills around us?
Rolled 100>>30538006uh well your based around a ski resort in the mountains what do you think?
Can I get an update on the strength and composition of our forces?
>>30538018Thanks having a friend help battle plan need to make sure.
>>30538018Well.The Dice Goddess obviously resents your resistance at telling us we just plain won with Vault 101.
Rolled 1>>30538018mfwDice goddess...I just. I just don't know anymore.
so we get a new hero who waltzes in kills all the monsters and humans and secures our base right?
Rolled 69>>30538089...there are no words to describe what I am feeling right now Dice goddess.
>>30538089The dice gods giveth, the dice gods take it away.
>>30538141They cancel out and everything is as it was, right?
>>30538119I think we still need a battle plan.My friend's idea was use the diggers to set up choke points to have worms attack and we hit and run with swarmlings. Then have a few holes made to hide units in and cover them up. To wait till the enemy has passed and let some of the infection work it's magic. Then two front attack again.
>>30538168if an event this epic ends with "and they all canceled out" i will be very disappointed. this is so epic it is only allowed to end well.
Rolled 85>>30538141fucking hell dice goddess now your being pervy as well?WTF why... anons WHY AM I SO CURSED.
>>30538189Well that's a decent plan, though semantics in the detail of attacks/defenses like that haven't made much difference in the past. Like last turn.
Rolled 22>>30538214and she approves...typical.
>>30538214Because they love all of us. >>30538225Maybe they help with losses.
>>30538225yea its a good plan but there is something integral, without which we wont make it regardless of how well we strategize.
Rolled 74>>30538242...so there wouldn't happen to be anyone more cursed then I right? Right?
>>30538273I got a friend who rolls low so often that he asked 1's to be his cit.
so are you writing or should we keep strategizing?
>>30538340What other thread are you posting in with that name?
Rolled 62>>30538351Actually that wasn't me but anon has a point.
Rolled 52>>30538362As I have previously stated I need your actions first.
Rolled 56>>30538383I do however think it may be a friend of mine had him post the stuff earlier which I had him delete has sorta hadn't perfected that particular brood unit. As there was some conflict with that and a few others.
Good luck guys, this was my plan: >>30537882>>30538000Hope you survive.
Rolled 58>>30538189Fuck it vote.
Rolled 19>>30538189so if im interpreting this correctly then we dig ditches, and use that dirt to make fortifications, enhancing any natural choke points and then we use the swarmlings to lure them into the trap and let the infectors and worms close in on all sides. If thats what it is then I suggest that we dig the ditches in such a way that it makes a narrow path leading up to the break in the wall, then we use swarmlings to lure them onto the bridge and into the mouth of the gap, so they cant use number to their advantage, then swarmlings hold the line while infestors come up the sides of the bridge to infect the middle of the forces, while the worms that were buried on the far side of the bridge surface and we hit them from all sides, Creeper can stand atop the walls an lob down infection on top of them. and if things really start to go south then we pump all the psi energy into the psi vein that runs through the center of the bridge, detonating it.
>>30538472We're inside a ski lodge...might want to rephrase that to the old idea of having creeper shape the creep.
