You are Captain WILLIAM PIERCE, a combat rescue officer of the United States Air Force.

You've just returned from yet another harrowing mission behind enemy lines, and despite a few close calls, you managed to get out with both the assets and your own crew intact and safe. You were once again seated in Anderson's office for a debriefing session.

"A damn good job, Pierce, you really hit it out of the park on this one." He grins, leaning back in his seat. "You've caught a lot of attention the DoD."

"The good sort of attention, I hope." You sigh.

"Oh believe me, it's good. There's talk of expanding the program, possibly even promotions." Anderson winks at you. "You and your witches are proof that mixed units in general, not just air wings, can have their use."

"Well, that's all well and good, but what's going to happen to us now?" You ask. "Ever since Berlin, combat operations have been ramping down. Not a lot of work for a SAR unit when there's no fighting going on."

"Ah yes, there's that matter too." Anderson nods. "Well, in light of the current battle conditions, as well as out of concern for troop morale, the DoD is granting units that fought before and during Berlin a chance for leave back in the States. Yours is on the shortlist, if you so choose.

"It sounds mighty tempting sir, but it's something I'll have to consult with my first." You reply.

"Understandable." Anderson nods. "There's really no rush."

"And what about Nungesser? I hope she didn't get in trouble tagging along with us."

"What? Her?" Anderson laughs. "She's disobeyed orders so often that the French Air Force stopped caring trying to reprimand her. She's too good at what she does for them to consider kicking her out. Very much the spitting image of her great grandfather."

"I suppose." You frown.

"Well, either case, there is some clerical issues we need to get squared away." Anderson says, pulling out a rather large pile of paperwork out from under his desk. "First, we need a battlefield assessment of the Ghost Hawk and Comanche. How did things go?"

"Well, I'm sure the mission report speaks for itself. We were in the middle of Russian occupied territory and they had no clue we were there, up until the shooting started, of course."

"Yes, I heard. I also understand your Comanche pilot wiped out an entire airbase?"

"Yes he did." You nod.

"Good, good." Anderson nods. "Now, this next matter might be a bit problematic, so I understand if you don't want to deal with it. It involves Raikov."

"Sure, let's hear it." You sigh.

"Well, currently, We have Raikov rotting in a POW camp back in France. However, it turns out the Russians want her back pretty bad. They've sent word through diplomatic channels that they're offering a prisoner exchange for her. In return, they'll give us three captured NATO personnel of our choice."

"Really, now."

"Well, the bigwigs in the State Department and the DoD are debating over taking the deal or not. I'm supposed to send in a recommendation to them. Now, I realize that your opinion may not be the most objective..."

"She nearly killed me by crushing my chest cavity in like paper." You say flatly.

"Like I said, you may not be the most objective source, but you WERE the one who captured her, not to mention actually fought her on the ground. Your opinion is going to carry some weight."

You pause to consider things.

>Sure, go ahead, if we can get our own guys back.

Both of these, but focus on the first. She's way to dangerous to let go.
>>
>>30702578
>No way, she's too dangerous to be let go.
Consider how much damage she did while she was with Volgin.
Better to keep her in a POW camp for now.
>>

>>She's pretty high up there. The Russians are trying to con you. You can probably squeeze a bit more out of them.

We can't give up on those prisoners even if it bites us in the ass later, but we can at least squeeze everything we can out of the Russians.

She's on the level of never want to see on the battlefield again.

Pass on it.
>>
>>30702673
>We can't give up on those prisoners

You can.

The damage she'll do will out weigh the prisoners we get back. We would be saving more people by keeping her off the battlefield.
>>
>>30702578
>She's pretty high up there. The Russians are trying to con you. You can probably squeeze a bit more out of them.
*Only* if we can get witches back.

No. This is like capturing Otto Skorzeny and then trading him back. Do NOT let her go for anything. Hell, it'd be safer to put a bullet in her head when she sleeps, but we can't do that, so next best thing is to keep her locked up in a deep dark dungeon.
>>
>>30702757
Yeah pretty much.

You have to ask; Why do the Russians want her back so damn bad to offer up any kind of deal.

Real the fact they offered a deal should be sending alarms off through DoD to keep her ass on ice.
>>
>>30702757
>This is like capturing Otto Skorzeny
I wouldn't go that far. I'd say Hans-Ulrich Rudel is a better equivalent.

Come to think of it, what happened to Otto in this timeline, anyway? Did he stick with the SS that tried to continue the war against the Allies?

"She's pretty high up there. I mean, she's a GRU officer, so I can understand why the Russians want her back so badly." You shrug. "My recommendation? Try to milk the Russians for everything you can get, like additional personnel or witches, if they have any. Raikov's way too dangerous to be let out for only three guys, no offense to them or anything."

"No, I completely understand. I'll pass it up." Anderson nods. "Anyways, how has Red been doing? I hear she suffered some minor injury during the extraction."

Oh right, that. Heh, you almost forgot you had shot her in the to foot. Accidentally, of course, and in an effort to save her life. However, she was still understandably miffed about it.

"Oh, she's doing fine. Didn't even need to spend a night in the hospital. She patched it up herself, actually."

"Ah, that's good." Anderson grins. "Well, that should be all for now, unless there's anything else you'd like to ask me?"

>>
>>30703081
We shouldn't even be giving her up at all.
>>
>>30703102
Well, that's still not our call, really. We just got asked to give a reccomendation.
>>
>>30703102

But we've just given the recommendation that they should squeeze more and considering that the USSR approached the US first, they will cave.

Thus getting to know our opponent should be on the list of things we do to prepare for our next meeting on the battlefield.
>>
>>30703110
And that recommendation should have been a laugh and a hell no.

There's little to nothing the Russians would have that would be worth putting her back in their hands.
>>
>>30703123
here is all we need to know where to shoot
>>
>>30703131

Not military personnel no.

Compromised intelligence assets, yes.
>>
>>30703123
How's getting to know her help with her crushes us again with a steel claw?
>>
>>30702937
>She acts all gruff and pissy, telling us how she'll find us and kill us
>"Well third times the charm right?"
>"....Although...."
>Pierce glances around at his crew
>"Three strikes and you're out."
>>
>>30703138

Thats if we see her in our face and by that point its moot.

How will she react, what methods might she prefer? How might she approach a problem?

If we understand her abit better, we can get a handle on this and we can plan our response to her if we know shes in a particular area.

That way we can funnel her into a possibly more advantageous engagement for our side.
>>
>>30703142
You do realize that if they're compromised already they're worth nothing anymore? And any intel that they would have should have been changed or assets moved already after they got compromised.
>>
>>30703184
You really believe you're going to get all that from talking to her? You realize the spooks have most likely already tried getting as intel out of her as they can, right? Anything we need to know would be passed on.
>>
>>30703192

Compromised arrested assets.

The US makes it a goal to get good assets out and it helps future operations and defections since it sets the precedent that the US will do all it can to retrieve its compromised agents and informants.

It's a strategic boost and passive across the board/war effort one since it encourages leaking information.
>>
>>30703242

Not all of it no. And this is not hard intel. This is knowing the person and the personality. Just her responses to questions can shed some light.
>>
>>30703279
Again, I'm going to have to ask why us? Why not the spooks.
>>
>>30703279
...and if her response is 'tear out of the restraints and tear out William's throat?
>>
>>30703314
she is his waifu
>>
>>30703393
That's basically what it looks like now.

I really get sick how people want the MC of any quest to do everything themselves instead of letting people in the quest do their jobs.
>>
>>30703379
Unlikely at best, there are ways to restrain a witch, just not very many and super strength is genetic.

But it'd be interesting to see if we could win in a hand to hand fight, but she'd probably have the upper hand.
>>
>>30703314

Because everything we have is secondhand information.

Reports of her killing witches, her stalking Red through the city, shes a hardline stalinist, fights like a lion. We can infer some parts from this and perhaps read more from report but nothing beats actually seeing the person face to face and speaking to them to get a handle on who they are.

>>30703379

3 rounds rapid, center mass would be an appropriate response. Then again, we did save her life. I'm hoping she'll not be so violent immediately.
>>
>>30703447
You are fucking idiot
>>
>>30703468
I'm really not sure where you got that and you can't type a coherent sentence, so you shouldn't be talking.
>>
>>30703030
What the Hell...? Just because a tiger's been caged, doesn't mean its safe to poke it with a stick...
>>
>>30703580
We are not gonna poke her, just talk to her through concrete and rebar + iron/steel door + a half dozen witches.
>>
>>30703614
That's poking her.
>>
>>30703453

And a bigger question I personally want to ask is why. Why did she not kill him when they first fought?

Piece can't have been the first allied officer to have to tried to stand his ground against her. What made him different enough for her to try and drag him away instead of killing him on the spot.
>>
>>30702880
"So, how's the war situation going overall?" You ask.

"Oh, the usual." Anderson sighs. "For good news, Alaska has officially been declared liberated from Russian occupation. All active units have either retreated, been captured, or been destroyed. That will definitely free up units to reinforce other fronts, like ours. The Middle East is a huge mess, though. Our forces are making good progress to Baghdad, but I don't see that conflict ending any time soon. Meanwhile, Asia's been going back and forth and has just recently stabilized. Japan managed to take Kamchatka, but lost the northern half or Korea to the Chinese. They're basically stuck in a stalemate position. China has the numbers but Japan has the tech."

"I see. What about Europe?"

"Well, you should know by now. Things have settled down along the Polish border, but after Berlin, neither side is in any condition to make a serious offensive, at least not yet. That will change once we can transfer the Alaskan forces and other reserve units here, but again, it will take time. Doesn't really help that most of the matrons decided to take a vacation to Barin now of all times, which is hampering our coordination with our witch units."

"Well, it could be worse." You shrug.

"Don't jinx it." Anderson grins. "Now, I'm sure you've got better things to do with your time."

"Yes sir." You nod.

You leave Anderson's office and head back to the barracks. You've got a few things to take care of, after all.

>For those of you asking about seeing Raikov, there's really no way you can. First of all, she's not even the same country as you. Second, POWs don't exactly have many visitation rights, and with a high value prisoner like Raikov, only select personnel would be allowed access to her. You can't just waltz in and ask to be taken to her.

You decide to go check up on Bree to see how she's doing. After all, she and her squadron were still recovering from Berlin. You don't recall them having been sent on any sorties yet, either.

You make your way straight to Bree's office, where you see her poring over paperwork yet again.

"Well Bree, I see that you're busy as always." You say.

"Wha-?!" Bree blinks and looks up. "Goddamnit, Will, don't you ever have any paperwork to do?"

"Nope. Anderson takes care of all that junk for me." You grin. "I thought you were going to sign on El as your XO?"

"Yeah, well, I haven't gotten around to it yet." Bree waves you off. "I'm almost done, anyways."

"You don't LOOK almost done." You say, craning your head over her desk.

"You have anything better to do other than pester me?" Bree scowls as she swipes at your face, but you manage to pull back just in time.

"What, I can't' check in on how my dear older sister is doing?" You say innocently

"Ha ha." Bree rolls her eyes. "Anyways, did you have anything to do with this?"

She then holds a piece of paper out in front of you. Curious, you take it from her hand and give it a quick read. You see that it's an authorization for leave for her entire squadron.

"I didn't have anything to do with this." You shake your head. "But I heard a lot of units are getting rotated out for R&R."

"Yeah, I guess." Bree sighs. "I'm sure my girls will be thrilled at the chance to go home, even for a bit. Me? I'm not really sure what to do with it."

"Bree, seriously, you can't keep putting this off." You sigh. "You said it yourself, that you nearly died more than a few times in Berlin. What if it actually happened? You think that would make Mom or Dad happy? Hell, none of us were certain you were even ALIVE for the longest time. I mean, they might not tell you, but they're worried about you all the damn time."

"....they are?" Bree blinks.

"Of course. After everything that's been said and done, you're still their daughter." You sigh. "Can you at least give them a chance?"

"...I'll think about it." Bree sighs, defeated.

Well, it was better than her rejecting you outright. Or punching you.

"Alright, it's a start." You nod. "I gotta go check on my witches. Let me know when you make a decision, alright?"

"Yeah, sure." Bree grumbles.

You then head back down the lounge, where you see Janice, Tarin, and Red just hanging out, talking small talk as girls were wont to do, though you sometimes wondered what they talked about when you weren't around.

"Ah, Captain!" Janice smiles as she sees you approach. "Any news today?"

"Yeah, a bit." You shrug. "How do the three of you feel about going on extended leave?"

"Hm, that does sound enticing." Janice nods. "Isn't that right?"

"I guess?" Tarin shrugs.

"Cool. I was sort of wondering when we'd get a chance to get back to the states!" Red grins.

Well, you guess you had your answer for Anderson, then.

"So, any of you girls have any specific plans?" You ask. "I was just planning to go visit my parents. Maybe drag Bree with me if I can."

"Well..." Janice says. "I'd like to at least visit my family first. They live all the way in California so it's not often I get to see them."

"Huh, that's funny. I was planning on going there too." Red blinks. "My Dad is working at some high tech lab down in Silicon Valley. I was thinking I could go and see him down there, seeing as how I already ran into my mom and all."

Then all eyes turn to Tarin.

"Well, my grandfather left me a plot of land in Oregon. I thought I might as well go check it out. Maybe do some hunting on the side, too." She says.

"Hm, it looks like we all got our own plans." You nod. However, you do note that the places you're all visiting are fairly close together. At least on the same coast, anyways. You wonder. Your leave was valid for a little over two weeks. You could theoretically spend a week at home, and then use the second week for other plans.

"Hey, Janice, so about our leave plans..."

"Oh, you want to spend some of your leave time with me? My, my, that's quite flattering!" Janice smiles. "I don't have any objections to that, if that's what you're wondering."

For some reason, it fel really good to hear her say that.

"Though I think it would be nice to at least set some time to spend with the other girls, don't you think?" Janice gives you that cheerful smile again. "It just doesn't sit quite right leaving them completely out of this!

Deciding to leave the girls to their own devices, you exit the barracks to go check up on your aircrew. After all, they were the other half of your operation. You find them easily enough, performing maintenance on the Pave Hawk. For obvious reasons, the Ghost Hawk couldn't be seen in public, so it had been moved to Ghost's hangar for safekeeping, along with the Comanche.

"Hey guys." You say, walking up to them casually.

"Yo, Captain." Bullseye waves as he inspects the controls. "What's going on?"

"Well, I just got word from Anderson that he's giving us two week leave." You say, leaning on the Pave Hawk's side. "It's good for pretty much anywhere that's not an active warzone. This means it's a chance to head back to the States."

"Oh, that's news." Bullseye nods.

"Did somebody say leave?!" Hoskins pokes his head out of an opened access panel. "Hot damn! That means I can visit my kids!"

"I'll just be glad I can go somewhere without getting shot at." Snips beams. "

"How about you, Rex?" You ask the rather quiet and enigmatic airman.

"I might go do some sightseeing in England." Rex shrugs. "Don't have much reason to go back to the States, really."

"Care to talk about it?" You ask. You're starting to get similar vibes to Bree.

"Not particularly." Rex grunts.

"Come on, we're all comrades here." You sigh. "Can you at least give us the general gist of it?"

Fair enough. You could pester Bree since she was your sister, but you weren't related to Rex in any way, so you felt you didn't have any pretext to meddle in his personal affairs. Well, you just hope things would work out for him.

"Hey, Bullseye, you never told me what you were planning." You say, turning back to your pilot.

"Oh, well, uh, about that..." Bullseye laughs nervously. "I was sort of thinking of taking a trip to France."

"Oh la la~" You say jokingly. "A romantic getaway with Nungesser?"

"S-shut up!" Bullseye shouts.

"Don't worry, Bullseye, we won't judge." Hoskins cackles. "But I do expect stories. IN DEPTH stories."

Why the hell is he being flustered. He's attracted the attentions of a beautiful French witch. This is something every man on this Earth would give their left nut for.

This is like making fun of someone for dating a movie star. It makes no sense.

Because theres going to be like only 3 things they'll be doing.

Eat decadently, drink wine and screw.

And to think this came from what looked like was going to be a one night stand.
>>
>>30706214
That's my point. Would anyone ever try to mock someone for that? "Ha ha! You're going on vacation with a movie star, and you're just going to be fucking her the whole time! Haaaa, what a loser!"

See how ridiculous that sounds?
>>
>>30706214
Hey it happens in real life too! An attempt at flustering someone I know via having him talk to a hot girl wound up working out to be a couple. Sure it didn't last long but I wasn't expecting that.
>>
>>30706235

But its not going to be mocking. It's going to be of the 'tell me everything' variety which he may be embarrassed to tell.

You decide to stop pestering Bullseye. The poor guy had more than enough to worry about.

"Well, it's good to see that you've all got plans." You say. "Hope things work out for you all."

"Same goes to you, sir." Hoskins nods respectfully at you. "

With that, it's one quick phone call to Anderson's office to let him know that you've decided to take him up on his offer to go on leave.

"Excellent!" He says happily. "I'll expect to see you all back refreshed and ready for action!"

A chance to go home, spend some time with Janice, and go out with your witches on some group activity. This was going to be a hectic two weeks...

>And that's it for tonight! Apologies for the relatively short thread, but this seemed like the logical stopping point. See you next week, and don't forget Cyberpunk Idols and Saturday and Magical Girl Hunter on Sunday!

Sigh, no Tarin again. I don't get why everyone's all over the ~ara ara~ moeblob.
>>
>>30707374
>moeblob

You keep using this word. I do not think it means what you think it means.
>>
>>30707416

No, I suppose not, but she is the easy target.
>>
>>30707462

She actually brother-zoned the MC at the start though. Easier route would have been red.
>>
>>30707479
What? I don't remember that at all. Got a quote?
>>
>>30707479

Bullshit. That's not brother zoning, that's a preliminary sighting-in for the later feels extraction and loving relationship.

If you think that's "brother zoning" and not her just being bubbly, then you're completely delusional.
>>
>>30707569
That's now brother zoning at all. If that's the case it's the same thing with Janice being motherly
