You are Laura Kinney, clone, fugitive, and homeless mutant.

The corpse beside you slowly sinks into the mattress, dark, coppery warmth spreading from the gaping wound upon its throat. He died quietly, and quickly, his eyes offering only the briefest moment of uncomprehending, desperate terror. In death, however, he remains as much of a problem as he was in life, his steadily cooling remains quickly starting to stink up the chamber.

In the room next door, you count six heavy pairs of footsteps making their way into the apartment, their arrival heralded by a chorus of cooing and fluttering from the girls. The friends he mentioned, most likely. If they’re in the same line as work he was, they’re certain to be similarly armed.

You step lightly across the room, checking the sad, obligatory little window. It overlooks the courtyard in the centre of the block, a distant sheet of unadorned, ugly grey concrete. The drop is a sheer one, with few opportunities for purchase. You could survive the fall, but the information you gleaned from your target most likely has an expiration date attached, and waiting for your limbs to reassert their proper shapes could waste valuable time.

Outside, you hear someone inquire after a Donny. The drawn-out, throaty voice of your target’s companion asserts that he’s next door, “catching a little alone time with one of the girls”. You suppose it may be possible to linger a moment, or to concoct some clever lie on your way out through the festivities, but neither option is without risk. If you wait, you increase the window in which your situation could be stumbled in upon. If you leave now, you compromise your cover.

>[X] Risk leaving through the front door.

You shrug your jacket down your shoulders, undo your belt, and mangle your hair this way and that. And then you swing the door open, striding out into the crowded apartment.

You feel every eye in the room turn upon you as you shut the door, a few slurred conversations slowly to a halt. You make your way across the heavily stained carpet in silence, keeping your eyes lowered, and almost make it to the door before one of the girls chimes in after you:

“Hey, uh, where you goin’?”

You glance back dismissively.

“He was very quick.” Someone, somewhere, claps a hand over their mouth and winces empathically. One of the men further into the apartment, his hands all over one of the girls, can’t help but descend into a short-lived burst of laughter. “I am getting some air.”

You step out into the corridor and make your way toward the stairs. It doesn’t take long for one of the men to follow you out, and you prepare to unsheathe, but he just matches your pace, staring looking you up and down and grinning lopsidedly. He seems younger than most of the others, skinnier. The squawking tone hiding under the crust of his voice confirms it.

“Hey, girl, you up for another round when you get back?”

Come to think of it this was a stupid justification. He was practically black out drunk. The chances of him recognizing us was very small. All we needed to do was hit him in the head really hard. The combination of concussion and alcohol would have ensured our anonymity.

There is a very vocal group of players that recently joined the quest five or six threads ago that want JJ and Laura to be murder hobos. That is why people voted to kill.
>>
>[X] Yes. [lie]

“Yes.” You say, keeping your eyes as far away as possible from his. “I’ll see you insi”–

“Great!” His voice crackles excitedly. His eyes are straying all over you, but he’s at least trying to be somewhat subtle about it. “Mind if I walk you downstairs?”

You would tell him no, but that doesn’t seem in-character, and you’re not entirely certain that this person is capable, at this exact moment, of taking any kind of hint, no matter how blunt. You remain ambiguously silent and bear with his presence. He talks all the way down the stairs, to the courtyard and long rows of garbage bins – mostly about his job, which has been recently attained, and small inconsequential nuggets regarding his life. He smells of fresh gunpowder, and sweat, and nerves.

He slows his pace as you exit the building, clearly expecting you to stop and linger outside. Which, if course, is not an option. You can’t imagine you have more than five minutes before the bloody remains of your mark are discovered.

“So, like, are from arou”–

Without warning, you slam his head against the wall. He slouches, eyes darting through the night, wild with shock and sudden pain, before you step in close and wrap your arm about his neck, cutting off just enough of his ventilation to black him out.

He slumps down to his knees, then to the ground, and you check his pulse. Stable.

Leaving him, you break into a run, putting a fair bit of distance between you and the entire stinking block before eventually trailing to a stop, assessing your findings.

You know where Barracuda – and possibly Creeper – will be. You know that he’s making some kind of action against Mister Negative, and that he’s being motivated by some manner of mystery ingredient essential to the manufacture of Jack. And you know that there may be a third party involved, likely one of the other crime lords presently edging in on Creeper’s territory.

Do you have any reason not to follow this up immediately.

>[X] Maybe you should call the Hellions for help.

If your information is accurate, the representatives of three major crime syndicates will be between you and your objective, in all likelihood armed to the teeth and ready for a fight. Judging the situation worthy of backup, you call the Hellions.

The phone rings for a short while, before an unfamiliar, soft-spoken voice answers.

“…Hello? Is this, um, Laura?”

It often seems as though the same Hellion is incapable of answering your calls twice. This will be the fourth you’ve conversed with.

“Yes.”

“Oh, hi, I’m Cess”–

“It is very nice to meet you.” You offer, with all the sincerity of a plank of wood. “I have information regarding Creeper.”

You tell her what you know, and that you’ll be checking it out. You also ask her where exactly Cedar Woods is, saving you a little time. She seems a little skittish about the subject, far more so than her friends, but tells you that three of her fellows are available to assist you – Lance Alvers, the terrakinetic, Santo Vaccaro, the young man with the granite physiology, an herself.

“I will meet you nearby.” You state. “Do not engage until we have made contact.”

“Um… how’re you gonna find us?”

You tell her that her friend has a very distinctive scent before hanging up. The comment was in reference to Santo, but really, it could be either of them. On the few occasions you’ve met with the Hellions, Lance Alvers has demonstrated a truly impressive ability to wear the same clothes for several days in a row. It strikes you that this observation may be somewhat on the hypocritical side, but JJ appears like a bright spot in your memory, and notes that the Hellions aren’t homeless.

Cedar Woods is a fair distance to the North, on the banks overlooking The Bronx. You hop onto the subway and get within two blocks, progressing the rest of the way on foot. The area shows all the hallmarks of old industry, huge, looming buildings wrought out of unforgiving materials. The smelting plant isn’t hard to find, its cooling towers sticking out above the lowish skyline like offending fingers.

It’s a large building, separated roughly into three wings. You’re making assumptions based on what you can see from the outside, but it would seem like the western section of the building is admin and control, with the other two wings comprising the actual industrial complex.

You sniff the air. No sign of the Hellions yet.

>[X] Wait.

You bide your time, making long, deliberate circles around the wire fencing that surrounds the complex. At this range, you’re picking up very little beyond the ground-level ambience of New York, nasally speaking, and at a glance the entire plant seems to be inactive. You’d guess that it’s a relatively small team at work in there, though Barracuda’s men will likely arrive in force.

It takes you just over an hour to locate the Hellions. They arrive on the southern side of the complex, just waltzing down one of the main roads.

“…why we’re waiting, man, we should just rock this whole joint.” That’s Santo, the rock-man. His voice is a clash of churning stone, but his use of language betrays a younger age than others might assume. “I mean, what’re they gonna do to me? I’m like Double Batman, made of rock!”

“Dude.” Alvers. “You’re not Batman. Batman is stealthy.”

“And hot.” Notes the third, female figure. That one must be Cessily.

You approach them silently, hoping that some of your appreciation for quite might rub off on them, and nod to each of them in turn. Santo suddenly goes quiet, exchanging glances with Alvers. Cessily, however, offers her hand, which you accept after a moment of consideration. Her skin is cool to the touch – unnaturally so. She’s wearing a long, heavy shawl, but the distinctive gleam of metal dances across what you can see of her cheeks, betraying some kind of organic silver epidermis.

Interesting.

The wind shifts. Blood and gunpowder wash over you, old oils and humid, meaty warmth trailing closely behind them. Another distinctive scent.

Barracuda is somewhere nearby.

Look. There's 3 groups.

Group 2 - after the Jack core. Barracuda, goons, possibly Creeper.
Group 3 - after Barracuda/Creeper/possible destruction of Jack core. Us and the Hellions.
Group 1 + 2 fight. Group 3 waits, then ambushes whichever of the other two groups wins. Simple.
>>
>[X] Let the violence happen, take on the winners.

“Barracuda has arrived.” You state. Alvers rubs his hands together and smirks broadly.

“Alright, let’s get this show on the road.”

A distinct sense of unease passes through the ground beneath you, the soil shifting ever so slightly. You shake your head and glance back at the huge complex, its low silhouette seeming almost like a slumped giant, sleeping for now, or dead, but still dreaming of fire and ash.

“We wait.”

Santo grumbles, his voice a small rockslide.

“It would be advantageous to let both sides thin one another out.” You reason, ignoring the boy’s unspoken complaints.

Slicing your way through the fence, you take up position a short way inside, nearby the western wing of the building. Soon enough the night is disturbed by short, staccato bursts of gunfire, the breeze thickening with the myriad scents of violence.

Not quite. In that, the Hellions intentionally attract attention and we... do something. Here, the Hellions are vaguely stealthy (by their standards) and we're not caught with them when they inevitably fuck it up.

>[X] All four of you go in.

As the violence escalates and the short bursts of gunfire draw out into sharp, metallic screams, you make a mental note of what your senses are telling you. The fighting is localized in the midsection of the building, with a larger force – Barracuda and company, if your assumptions are correct – trying to push through to the other end. As is the case with most gunfights, things behind to wind down as the battle draws on, short lulls seeping in between the shooting.

You would surmise that the last remaining defenders have fortified their positions on the eastern edge of the complex, and are in all likelihood calling in for backup.

“It’s time.” You state. “There is a broad factory door midway through the complex. That will be our entrance.”

Breaking away from the group, you fall into a run, the distance between you and your objective disappearing rapidly. The Hellions have no capability for quiet, so speed is your truest ally in his encounter.

As you approach the heavy doors, you make out two men with rifles sneaking their way around the premises. They catch sight of you, and–

“Alvers!”

The ground erupts beneath them, hurling them high into the air. By the time they hit the ground you’re inside, the innards of the complex opening up before you. It would appear that this central block is – or, was – primarily supply and storage, multiple huge shelves lined against one side of the expanse. The walls are lined by metal walkways leading further into the plant.

Something moves up above. You shift your weight, hurling yourself behind one of the massive steel shelves. Gunfire rattles through the building, and you sniff the air.

Four men up on the walkways. Mixture of firearms, all fully automatic.

>>
>[X] Let the Hellions take them out so you can move further in.

You glance over your shoulder, watching Santo’s granite hide advance through a hail of gunfire, Alvers trailing in the safety of his shadow. The gigantic mutant hunkers down beside you, the notion that he is even attempting to take cover almost amusing you.

“Hold this area.” You command. You’re assuming that Barracuda is at the forefront of his offensive, and you’re prefer that the Hellions cut him off from as much of his crew as possible.

“You got it!” Shouts Alvers, his voice curling with effort. A tremor passes through the walls, shifting the men on the walkways above off balance – one of them is even thrown straight over the railings, several his head hitting the ground with a sickening, bloody crunch.

You take the opportunity to hurl yourself up the shelves, swinging from one beam to the next, eventually gathering enough momentum to propel yourself onto one of the nearby walkways. Bullets arcing through the air behind you, you sprint toward one of the doorways on the far end of the complex, a few shots bushing at the back of your legs. Another minor earthquake announces another offensive by Alvers, and the gunfire lets up just long enough for you to slip away.

You are met by a long, broad dark. No windows here, but you can feel that you’re still on a walkway high above ground, dark, vast shapes protruding from the gloom around you, gradually gaining definition. This must be the smelting plant proper, long inert, but still littered by the heavy machines of industry.

You pad your way quietly along the walkway.

You smell him, his sweat flecked through the air, the blood on his hands tingling at your throat. You duck, the butt of his rifle sailing over you, and in the dark you comprehend a great, gold grin, the rest of the mountainous man seeming to billow around it like a great, black stormcloud, all humanity lost to the gloom. You can vaguely make out a set of night vision goggles, or something similar, resting atop his eyes, but you have little time to eke any more detail from the figure.

With speed that seems to contradict his massive build, Barracuda shifts his weight around, letting the force of his swing carry him into a headbutt. You dance out of the way, feeling your way along the railings, and drop to your knees at the sound of rounds being chambered.

A momentarily flash of gunfire lights up the expanse, cutting over your head.

The black descends again. Barracuda flips his rifle back around.

SNKIT.

You close the distance, a snap of gunfire momentarily illuminating Barracuda’s swollen frame. Your claws slide effortlessly through the barrel of his rifle, rendering it useless. You were aiming to remove the greater portion of his hand with it, but the gangster seems to be wise to your intentions.

“Damn, girl!” His rumbling, throaty laugh fills your ears, and for a moment you hesitate.

It costs you. His fist slams into the side of your head, blood vessels bursting in your left eye, a sharp crack of swooning pain tunneling down through your ear. You think he may have very lightly cracked your skull, but you ignore it, pushing the pain down, managing it. A second jab passes over your shoulder, and you manage to get your claws into his bicep, coppery wetness spreading over your fist. Grunting like some kind of cornered animal, the huge man swings you about, keeping you off balance. Smart – you can’t capitalize with your other arm if it’s all over the place.

He grabs hold of your wrist, preventing you from twisting your claws, and a huge, bulbous knee drives its way up into your stomach. The air rushes from your lungs, spittle flying from your teeth. The urge to vomit rises, stomach fluids welling up in your throat, but you press it down, releasing the pain as a snarl.

“Yo, where yo’ little friend at, girl?” He doesn’t know. For some reason that’s vaguely comforting to you.

You set your foot against the railings and push, giving yourself some extra leverage. The attempt is rewarded by the sensation of tendons snapping before your claws, but the victory is short-lived. He kicks savagely at you, sending you sprawling across the walkway.

“Not here today, huh?”

Pulling yourself up, you backtrack along the cold metal, waiting for an opening.

“Gotta say, ‘fore we get this all done an’ ended, you are one hardcore lil’ lady.” Blood pours from the gash across his arm, but he barely seems to notice it. Every step you take he matches, slowly, steadily advancing on you, as if waiting for the right moment to pounce. “Still, ain’t much room here for all ‘dat jumpin’ an’ duckin’ shit you pulled on me before.”

An accurate evaluation.

Your sudden, staccato movements giving him little warning, you slice cleanly through the metal beneath your feet, the world lurching as the entire walkway keels downward. Letting your claws slide back under your skin, you sprint up the falling causeway, leaping over Barracuda as he slides down, laughing all the way. The whole frame jerks as he manages to find purchase somewhere below, and you just about manage to hurl yourself onto one of the neighboring machines before the drop becomes too steep to sustain your sprint.

Whatever you grabbed sways awkwardly through the dark, metal links groaning up above. Your pull yourself up, and realize that you’ve managed to find purchase upon the edge of a smelting pot.

“Nice!” Booms Barracuda. “Still, tho’…”

Something arcs through the dark, skittering along the curve of the pot beneath your feet, like a stray coin circling a drain. Probabilities flash through your brain, pathways firing through the dark, clicking thoughts into place. You draw in a deep breath, bending your knees.

Grenade.

You leap out into the shadowy basin of the plant. Doesn’t matter where you land – anywhere is better than being next to a grenade when it pops off. The explosion bursts through your ears, momentarily lighting up the cluttered vastness of the complex, and the air whistles with flying shrapnel. You feel it cut across your boots, a tiny shard burrowing into your ankle, before you slam stomach-first into a long, solid metal something, the air leaving your lungs in a single, painful heave.

Biting back the searing complaints of your ankle, you feel desperately for the exact nature of your new perch, your hands tracing their way along thick, long-insert wires and broad sheets of solid steel. Feels like the framework to an electric furnace. Can't be more than a meter off the ground.

Your foot won’t be in fighting condition for the next few seconds, but you appear to have escaped Barracuda’s field of vision for now, as evidenced by the lack of that booming, jovial tone. You can smell him out there, stalking through the machines, hunting. In a way, he is very much like you, a being composed of total, unmitigated violence.

As you crouch there in the dark, sniffing this way and that, you almost feel like he wears it better than you, like despite your years of rigorous training and forced exactitude and constant, gruelling conditioning, Barracuda has mastered death in a way you could never understand.

You slip away behind the gigantic metal frame, passing under its skeleton. Your limp is gradually improving, a reminder of the single greatest advantage you have here – you can outlast this creature. No matter how tough he is, no matter how strong or unfeasibly fast or how well he basks in the bloody horror of death, Barracuda is a human being.

Something strikes you as you duck under one of the aged ribs of the machine. A low, effervescent crackle, just barely perceptible, just barely humming through the wires that trace their way along the beams that bind the structure together.

That’s not right. Nothing here should have power.

>[X] Follow the electricity.

Your curiosity gets the best of you. Whatever’s at the end of these wires could very well be the mystery substance that drew the attention of Mister Negative, and then the subsequent, far less gentle attention afforded by Creeper’s gang.

Following the low, electrical hum, you trace the flow of power back into the bowels of the machine, where its frame closes in into a set of broad, arching metal beams, each one host to the a thick bundle of softly-crackling wires. They bunch together like the last scraps of muscle clinging to the bones of a dead thing, much of the protective rubber that once ensured the safety of the system worn away by time.

In the centre, where all paths convene, something clings to the looming arches like a great, tumorous mass. You assumed that you were looking for some rare mineral or particulate, but this… this reminds you more of a living thing, of any number of vital organs, all patchworked together with no regard for form or function. It’s like looking at a cancer cell magnified a hundred thousand fold, drooping obscenely from its purchase up above, the power lines twisting unnaturally – but oddly organically, you can’t help but notice – to convene at the point it hangs from. A soft, Cherenkov-blue light gently waxes and wanes from the nexus point, drawing in and out like the monotonous progression of the tide. Like a heartbeat.

You feel a strange, electrical urge swoon through the roots at the base of your brain, a part of you opening that you’ve never felt before, scintillating-expanding-flowing freely, as comfortable and loving as it is alien…

Deadpool's Healing Factor is retardedly strong. Like, Deadpool can get decapitated and if he or someone sticks his head back on, even after it was kicked around the room for a few minutes he'll be fine.
It's just bonded to his cancer, which is why he keeps that fucked up appearance.

>>
>>30741730

It's a little of both. His healing factor is stronger than either wolverine or x-23 but for some reason skin cancer is the only thing he can't heal from. He's immune to other types of cancer.

We technically don't know what universe Lady Dead pool is from. And, we've never actually seen Lady Dead Pools face. I suppose it could be Laura under there with normal skin.
>>
>>30741730
It is imperfect. It actually has negative effects.
However, it's also much stronger.
There is a line in the sand past which healing factors become bullshit.
Logan is past that line.
Laura is past that line.
Wade has gone so far over the line he can't even see it anymore. He's now relaxing in some lovely tropical tundra regions.

>[X] Kill the power.

Warmth encloses you, like sun-dappled walks, like mothers’ arms, like Pinocchio. You feel something hot and wet under your eyes, and you realize, to some amazement, that there are tears perched upon your eyelids. The gentle thrum of the sagging mass tells you that you are perfect, you’re fine as you are, you should never change, never despair. Mother loves you. Loves you. Unconditionally.

“Please forgive me.”

Uncon-di-di-di-

“Even as I – Even as – words, they seem – Even as I write the words, they ri-ri-ri-ri”–

You clap your hands over your eyes and count under your breath, telling it to go away. Mother’s love fades back into the ebbing shadows, and you are left alone, the churning, whispering progression of the electricity your only company. You step back, glancing to and fro, and unsheathe your claws. You don’t know what this thing is, but it got into you. It got into more than your mind. Something deeper, safer, some refuge you didn’t know you had, and that you can no longer feel.

Wincing as the current travels up your arm, you slice through one of the nearby bundles of wires, and then another, and another, until the flow of power to the thing is finally cut off.

You breathe. You feel yourself orbiting your centre, seeping back in to your own, recognizable self.

The glow pulses in the belly of the thing. You feel it shudder, shudder, again and again, its pace matching your heartbeat. The wires now trailing from the ceiling jerk up, swaying through the air like feelers, a soft, pale blue glow enveloping their lengths. The dark is suddenly alight with flowing, sinuous trails of neon fire.

You make to move, but one of the wires caresses your cheek, and all the motion drains from your limbs, all worry, all hate, all.

“Dayumn.”

To your side, under the arching framework of the machinery, you see Barracuda advancing. He lifts his goggles and draws a knife from his belt, but the light washes over him, and all violence seeps away from his features, pooling at his feet, leaving him with only a strange, vacant stare.

Under the skin of the great mass, the shadowy outline of something, something with four fingers and a thumb, traces its way across the pulsing membrane. Guided by the sinuous caress of the wires, each motion a tentative chance, a wish, you place your thumb upon its shadow opposite, and then a finger, and then another.

The mass is warm to the touch, soft, welcoming. Familiar.

“…Johnathan?”

In a flash of barely-perceptible motion, it tears its way out, a lithe, strong arm ripping through the delicate membrane, sending a surge of luminous fluids rolling across the floor. It catches your arm at the joint and the sublimity ends, the wires losing their strange lustre, falling limply to the ground.

You are vaguely aware of the mottled scales that smatter its hand, before you are much more pointedly conscious of your arm shattering in several places, bones splintering like porcelain by the pressure exerted.

For the first time in… in a long time… you let out a shriek of pain.

A head, sopping with dark, fluidlogged hair emerges, and then a Herculean, burnished torso. And then it looks up at you, eyes like tiny windows into the heart of a blue giant. It’s not JJ. It’s the other one. The scientist.

“No, no, not me.” It smirks. “I am a Jo, though.”

Joseph. Typhon.

>[X] Tell Barracuda that he’s gotta help NOW or holy shit you’re both gonna die.
>[X] STAB STAB STAB STAB.

“Barracuda!” Your voice is unfamiliar. It’s full of panicked, unreasoning fear. The unconditional love and warmth that previously radiated from the mass is gone, and it left a deep, dark chasm, full of terrifying, incomprehensible certainties. You look into this creature’s eyes and you see fire on the horizon of the universe.

“Hmmm?” Typhon glances absently in the other man’s direction, as if noticing him for the first time. “Oh. We have company.”

“This creature will kill us!” You’re certain of it. You can feel your bones whisper it. “It will kill us both.”

Barracuda rolls his brow in perplexed, thoroughly stranged-out silence.

“Yo, big, floaty dawg, uh… I have no fuckin idea what this shit is, but you clearly ain’t s’posed to be here.”

He stoops to pick up his knife, and Typhon smiles almost angelically.

“Of course I am. Destiny brought me here. And judging by your scent – I can, wow, I can smell so many things now! – Jack brought you here. No?”

For the first time in your relatively limited experience with him, Barracuda seems thoroughly unnerved.

First of all even if John's never seen creeper wouldn't John recognize his own dads voice. Plus JJ's dad was a brilliant scientist. Creeper is a small time drug dealer. What series of events do you think happened to make him like that.

However I am confident that Joyce is where the original Jack came from. JJ going super nova provided two new sources and now people are fighting over the new supply.

We are hoping It's JJ.

“Of course it did. This protein we’re swimming in here would make a fantastic base for it!” His voice trails off into a warbling, good-mannered laugh. “The people your employer stole the formula from got it from me, you know? Jack was my first attempt at a supersoldier serum. Not exactly a success, but certain a profitable mista”–

You've heard enough. This is the monster. This is the that creature took Jonathan away. This thing was working with the Facility, with Kimura. You grit your teeth, snarling through bared canines, and stab at his chest with all your might.

Your claws sink into his exposed flesh and he lets out a howl of pain. Like lightning, his second hand emerges, closing around your wrist, and you feel every bone in your hand fragment instantly.

“Ow, hah! Ow, wow…” He grins ecstatically, marveling at the blades rooted in his flesh. “…I can’t believe I survived that. Haha!”

With casual ease, he propels you off your feet. You hit the ground hard, sliding a good few meters.

Slowly, laboriously, he digs his way out of the remains of the cocoon, stepping out into the fading bioluminescence. One of his arms reaches back into the mass, digging through sheets of tumorous, glowing flesh, and then, with a great heave, he pulls out a second, unconscious figure.

Johnathan.

He’s alive.

“Hey, you don’t have the time, do you?” Typhon brushes back his hair and drops his hands to his hips. "I appear to be naked."

>[X] Tell him to back away from JJ.

“Back away from Johnathan.” You snarl, rising to your feet. Your hand hasn’t quite healed yet, but you’ve fought with encumbered limbs before, and for all his strength, this man-thing is not a fighter. He shoved you like a child picking a fight.

“Oh?” He glances down at JJ’s prone figure, and then back at you. A shrug rolls across his broad shoulders. “Sure. Okay.”

He steps away from the unconscious mutant, glancing down at his arms, his chest, and then further, grinning with utter delight.

“I think it’s great that you care so much about him.” He notes. “Anyhow,”

He crosses the distance between the two of you instantly. His hand is around your arm again, twisting it about, showing little to no regard for the snapping of your bones. He glances down at the watch on your wrist, and for a moment his expression creases into a frown, before giving way to a broad smile.

“How apt.”

You narrow your eyes, counting the seconds till your free arm is workable. Twelve, eleven, ten… and then you’ll cut his throat wide open.

“What?” You’re stalling now. “What is it?”

Eight seconds.

His smile widens.

Seven.

“Ah, sorry. I forgot you’re a pod person.” He pauses, as if he’s tripped up somehow, and quickly adds: “Not that there’s anything wrong with that, by the way. Some of my best friends are clones. And it is a fine thing to be crafted toward a purpose. Anyhow…”

Four.

He twists your arm around, turning the face of your watch toward you.

“One-thirty AM. Thursday, 25th of December.”

Two.

He drops your arm.

“Merry Christmas.”

SUBSONIC TAGGING
Requires: Level 3 Sonic Scream, Level 5 Enhanced Senses
Cost: 1
JJ can ‘tag’ anyone struck by his Sonic Scream by a subtle subsonic vibration perceptible only to him and precious few other pieces of advanced equipment. For some time afterward he will be able to track their exact position at great distances.
SOUND DEPRIVATION/MAGNIFICATION
Requires: Level 2 Sonic Scream
Cost: 1
JJ can cause a persistent sonic variance to follow any target hit by his Sonic Scream. This can either mute them entirely, or greatly magnify any sounds they make.

VIBRATIONAL FOCUSING
Requires: Level 3 Sonic Scream, Level 4 Enhanced Senses, Level 3 Enhanced Agility
Cost: 2
JJ may refine the normal kinetic force of his physical attacks into focused vibrational waves. These pulses can pass travel through materials to deliver the force of his attacks to a particular part of a system, rather than spreading it across said system’s surface area.
FAR HOWL
Requires: Level 2 Sonic Scream, Level 2 Animal Affinity
Cost: 1
By combining the magnifying effects of his Sonic Scream with Animal Affinity’s ability to summon fauna at a distance, JJ may greatly extend the area of effect within which he can attract animals to his position.

SONIC VIBRATION FIELD
Requires: Level 5 Winged Flight, Sonic scream level
Cost: 1
The edges of JJ’s wings may be encased in a subsonic vibration field at will, allowing them to slice through hardened materials with greater ease.
SONIC FLUCTUATION MEMBRANE
Requires: Level 2 Winged Flight, Level 2 Sonic Scream
Cost: 1
JJ’s wings become capable of emitting precise vibrational pulses, fluctuating the air so as to achieve greater aerial mobility and allowing JJ to hover much like a helicopter or Harrier jet.
GENTLE BEATING
Requires: Level 1 Winged Flight, Level 2 Sonic Scream
Cost: 1
The membranes of JJ’s wings may be calibrated to absorb sonic vibrations, allowing them to beat the air far more quietly. He will also displace less air and disturb less of his surroundings.

I'll support Sonic if it's like Banshee's Sonic and we don't burst our ally's ears everytime we use it.
>>
>>30744569
they both suck the scream fucks with our super hearing

and we are piss pants afraid of fire I could only understand getting this after we conquer our fear of fire not before especially since at this point JJ who in no dummy knows his powers develop based on what he wants. and there is no why he wants to be near fire fuck he doesn't even like the tiny camping stove.

Ignoring "we dragon" "afraid of fire" arguments

We're stealth build. Precise damage that can ignore armor fits much better.
>>
>>30744688
We might be able to dick the scream into flight and passive/active sonar. Fire Breath just sets shit on fire and endangers our friends.

Agility 2 is better then both.
>>
>>30744703
No where he is just doesn't want sonic scream.
>>
Still think we should Vote or roll.

The same event will just erupt every thread here after if not.
>>
>>30744684
You can modulate it.

When it's focused in a blast, it fucks up the hearing of those that it hits, not everyone around you. And, of course, you're immune to its effects, for the same reason that you're immune to Draconic Breath but not to regular fire.

Imma put up another vote momentarily. So then everyone can participate in voting on the two most popular powers.
>>
Being afraid of your very breath can lead to some interesting dialogue and fits overall with JJ's theme of 'hidden, terrible nature'.

Sonic Scream just doesn't feel 'JJ' to me. Sorry.
>>
>>30744688
True. Plus they aren't thinking about echolocation + eye beams that shoot around corners.
>>

Hey CJ, what happened to mutant babby we saved?
>>
>>30744703
there are dozens of powers and other things to reflect it back at us or in a condensed space like the subway we live in and every super hearing here gets extra fucked by sound blasts
shit we don't even sing or yell like at all it just doesn't fit with jj well
>>
>>30744630
Between the two, sticking with draconic. We can already do precise damage - that's what our close-range offense (and potentially geointuitve) is for. What we're really lacking - what most of our allies are lacking - is an area effect.
And that's without going into a diatribe on the respective thematic appropriateness.

But, truth be told... I'd rather keep it banked for now. Until we can come to a relative consensus rather than a pissing match.
>>
>>30744677
I know what you mean. I want wing, but I don't care about being a Dragon. I'd rather have Sonic Scream.

meh, I liked optic force blast better and people are generally more interested in the standard powers than the extrapolative powers
>>
>>30745262
Not really, most of us are pointing out that JJ tries not to get other people caught up as collateral damage. We picked an AOE power that spreads like wildfire. In a densely urban area. Kind of hard not to set buildings on fire, you know? So yeah, can't be used unless we can be sure it will be contained.
