It’s been a year since the battle of Big Ring, but it still feels like it happened yesterday. Your name is Rena Zarth and you have been invited to the Battle of Big Ring Memorial unveiling at Bluethia, the Federation’s shining capitol on Earth.

Being the only surviving member of the Magnificent 7 X-Rounder Special Forces team, besides a now crippled Carlos, you were invited to attend due to your part in helping to destroy the colony the Vagans tried to plow into Big Ring. Apparently the Memorial Ceremony is also being used to hand out medals to “those who’s heroics have been overlooked” as Froi Olfenoa said in national TV.

A lot of people decided to come mostly to pay their respects to their fallen comrades, but you came for a different reason. After the Battle of Big Ring, Dirk came back…changed. He, Asemu, and Akito succeeded in destroying the Downes before the Vagan suicide drones could break their lines, however Akito ended up dead, Asemu lost an eye, and Dirk…

You stop staring out the window of the train and look to the seat next to you. Dirk sat in his seat, unmoving and unspeaking, staring off vacantly into space while occasionally muttering something bizarre. MID had recently formed a kind of full body brace around Dirk to allow him to move Dirk around, before this you just carted him around in a wheel chair.

The damage wasn’t physical from what all the doctors had said. Outside of the overdeveloped X-Rounder region of his brain which he had been dealing with since he was a child, Dirk hadn’t come back with any new physical injuries or traumas save for a few scuffs and bruises.

>(Cont)
>>
>>30736109
However a few months ago Dirk had a string of good days where he seemed almost normal. He refused to talk about Big Ring or what was wrong with him, and just wanted to have a nice time with you. Despite how brief his good days had been they helped you to understand that Dirk was still there, he was just…unhinged from his own mind.

You had exhausted yourself trying to hurry his recovery, but after you got pregnant you had to stop for risk of killing the baby girl inside of you. Right now it’s just a matter of waiting, both for your child and your soon-to-be husband to recover.

In the mean time you’re going to make sure he gets the recognition he deserves. Akito died fighting to destroy Downes and Dirk had this happen to him, Asemu got a promotion and disappeared into the Earth Federation Special Forces while Dirk got discharged due to “Unknown Medical Complications” without so much as a thank you.

After some heated arguing with your parents and yanking fiercely on some strings, you managed to get your husband what everyone who helped stopped the Vagans deserved. The Federal Medal of Honor.

Admiral Asuno was a tremendous help. You talked with him briefly and he seemed to be doing better than he had a year prior. He helped make sure Dirk was compensated for what had happened to him and that he was recognized at the ceremony.

He asked only one thing of you and that was to make sure Mellis and Jake went to the ceremony. It seemed less of a favor and more of a plea. It has been quite a while since Flit and Jake talked, apparently the last time they had talked a huge argument broke out that cost the both of them a couple of teeth.

I thought Desil survived too. Is that one of the retcons you mentioned you were going to make?
>>
>>30736137
Yeah, Desil and Carlos were supposed to have survived.
>>
>>30736134
Flit stated that he wanted to talk on good terms with Jake again, but that he wouldn't meet with him despite how many times he asked and apologized. He asked you to keep it a secret so he could sit down and talk to Jake at the ceremony where he would be less likely to make a scene.

It seemed reasonable enough, that and you needed someone to come with you and Dirk to help you. A pregnant X-Rounder Special Forces member and a unhinged Super X-Rounder needed someone to accompany them to help out and ensure nothing crazy happened.

Mellis was happy to come with you while Jake came be grudgingly and only to respect his son and the people who died at Big Ring.

Jake is asleep, or trying to sleep in the seat across from you while Mellis sits in the seat across from Dirk reading a beat up old paper book.

The train ride to Bluethia from the space port will be another half an hour, so you have some time to do what you wish.

You have a personal tablet computer with an internet connection and a phone.

You've never been to Bluethia, so maybe you could do some research on the city. Or maybe you could give someone a call...

What do you wish to do Rena?
>>
>>30736137
>>30736235
(I forgot to add Desil, my mistake. I assure you he's alive too and this isn't Gen 3 yet)
>>
>>30736318
Oh, good. Because the fact that we reformed Desil is pretty much the last remains of the happy times of this quest. I would be sad if he died.

>>30736285
Let's give Asemu a call. Is he going to be at the ceremony?
>>
>>30736285
Aw, congratulations, Rena.

See how Dirk's doing, maybe ask Mellis if they were here before. If not, look up some info abou that place.
We can send a message to Asemu, ask him if he's coming to the ceremony as well.
>>
>>30736404
Speaking of reformed Vagans, if Fram around? What happened to her?
>>
>>30736651
As I recall, last we heard of her she was still with the Crocker family. And very traumatized by Scarlet's "death". Of course, she might not be genuinely traumatized. I could see her acting on her awareness that Scarlet isn't dead(Fram can talk to ghosts, she can't find one for Scarlet, therefore Scarlet must alive) being interpreted as a child being in denial. Though that would eventually lead to some psychological issues in itself, as she develops a deep feeling of helplessness at knowing someone's alive but not knowing what happened to them while being incapable of convincing anyone else.
>>
>>30736651

>>30736404
>>30736436
You try to call Asemu a few times on his cellphone but don't get a reply. Eventually you send him a text message and wait for him to reply.

In the mean time you check up on Dirk. He's still staring off into space and muttering like usual.

"How are you doing?" You ask, as you fish a brush out of your purse and comb Dirk's wild blond hair into a more presentable shape.

"Frozen. See. Pieces. Pineapples. Gorillas, or is that a monkey?" Dirk mumbles back, seemingly unaware of your presence.

"He's doing fine. He's getting hungry though, we should stop to eat before the ceremony" MID suggests, his monoeye swiveling to look at you from the palm of Dirk's replacement arm.

"That's a good idea. Hey Mellis, have you ever been to Bluethia before?" You ask, hoping she'd know a good place to eat.

"Sorry, I've never been down to Earth before. Jake's been down at least once or twice, but that was on business down in South America. He helped work on some of the Federation's bases you know."

"Really? Huh, is there anything Jake hasn't work on?"

"Yeah, his cooking skills." Mellis says with an eye-roll as Jake begins to lightly snore.

Taking out your tablet, you decide to dig up some information on the Bluethia, both to find a good place to eat and to see what else you can find...

Well, Jake or Dirk might believe her. After all, one of them is an interdimensional traveler (hopefully Daiki and his team make it back okay) and the other is the strongest X-Rounder in the Federation who moved a Gundam by sheer force of will.

I meant more is she going to be around for the ceremony. She could be with Desil.
>>
>>30736651
>>30736991
Fram was staying with Jake and Mellis. She's been doing pretty rough since Scarlet was killed. Mellis and Jake didn't think it was wise to bring her to the ceremony so they left her with Desil, who despite taking a trip to Earth as well isn't attending the Ceremony.

At least she has someone looking after her.

So, we're going to have a female Crocker as the hero of the next gen?
Or is she going to be the older sister?

>15+2=17
Finding a good place to eat in Bluethia is pretty easy. Built during the dawn of the A.G. Calender to symbolize the beginning of a brighter future and became the Capital of the Earth Federation shortly after it's completion.

It's home to the Prime Minister of the Earth Federation and a large portion of the Earth Federation's government officials. It's very advanced in terms of infrastructure despite being nearly 100 years old and is renown for it's beautiful architecture, parks, and the monuments built there.

You download a map of the city and mark the location of the restaurants that looked good as well as the location of the Ceremony.

Putting away your tablet your phone rings and you receive a reply to your text.

>Asemu: "Kind of"

You immediately reply back.

>Rena: "What do you mean kind of?"

>Asemu: "Me and Dad are working. We'll be in the city but not at the ceremony"

>Rena: "Why what's going on?"

>Asemu: "Nothing. We're just acting as additional security. The President is here and they want us here just in case. Leviathan is here too so don't worry."

You frown and tuck away your phone. It's not that ridiculous that the President would want both Leviathan AND the Earth Federation Special Forces providing security. After Big Ring rumors of Vagan spies and insurgents on Earth began to pop up, but there had always been fears of spies.

Taking a deep breath you put you hands on your stomach and try to relax for the babies sake.

The train arrives at the station and you're helped off the train by Jake. You got a rental car so you didn't have to walk around the city, now all that's left to do is decide where to go.

The Ceremony won't be for another hour and everyone's hungry. There are a few restaurants that look like they'd be nice to eat at.

Where do you wish to go Rena?

We did go to one back on Solon, so why the hell not. See if it's okay with the Crockers, or if they have any other ideas.

>[B] A Chinese restaurant.
Let's see if we can jog any memories for Dirk, get him some clarity. Damn it, man, snap out of it! We need you for Gen 3.
>>
>>30737662
If we want him to snap out, we should try to feed him pancakes.
>>
>>30737476
Just for clarification, what did Jake tell everyone when they asked what happened to Daiki and Sirius? I'm assuming he won't go into details or anything, but he has an excuse right?
>>
>>30737586
>>30737662
"There's a nice Chinese Restaurant nearby we could eat at. Where do you two want to eat?" You ask, looking to Mellis in the Driver's seat and Jake in the back.

"Do they have pancakes?" Jake asks grumpily, receiving a glare from Mellis.

"Er, I mean yeah that sounds great." He says, correcting himself.

Mellis smiles and nods. "I haven't had Chinese food in a while. It'll be nice to eat someone different for a change."

The drive to the restaurant is a little slow, the city traffic seems a little tight today probably due to the ceremony. Still you get there with plenty of time to eat and order your food.

You two orders of General Tso's Chicken for you and dirk, along with some chicken fried rice and egg rolls. Jake gets pot stickers and Mellis gets some tasty looking pork dumplings. You dig in since you're eating for two and help feed Dirk, with MID encouraging him to chew and swallow .

The food is good but things are a little too quiet, what do you want to talk about?

>[A] Jake looks a little under the weather, is he alright?
>[B] Ask Mellis how Fram is holding up.

I think Jake no longer wants anything to do with pancakes. Last time he made any he wound up stranding his friends in another dimension. He's done with that gag.

Silly Anon, we'd need the control computer of a retardedly advanced dimensional travel device to make Pancakes.

Ask him what's wrong.
>>
>>30738008
Or what he was doing back then on a Leviathan secret base.

Maybe Scarlet will want some once she wakes up and realizes that she can't go home for some obscure reason.

>>30738037
Point.
>>
>>30738018
>[A] Jake looks a little under the weather, is he alright?
What happened between you and Flit, Jake? It had to have happened after the time trip, seeing how the narration at the beginning of it stated you were in contact with him. What happened after Leviathan retrieved your suit that got you so mad at him?
>>
>>30738018
> [A] Jake looks a little under the weather, is he alright?
> [B] Ask Mellis how Fram is holding up.
>>
>>30738095
Probably something to do with Flit taking the position of the supreme commander of Leviathan's forces.
>>
>>30738262
Yeah, but that happened before the time trip. So while Jake could have become angry about it, said anger happened only after being retrieved. What did he realize about Leviathan in the course of being rescued?
>>
>>30738305
They weren't talking much before either, if I remember correctly. They had a falling out over those grail crystals after they went berserk - and the battle of Big Ring and Zarth just made it worse for both of them - Jake for stranding Daiki and the Treasure Star somewhere in spacetime and not being there when Scarlet needed him the most, and Flit for meeting Emily again and losing his entire family.
>>
>>30738502
>grail crystals after they went berserk
The Ide has a habit of going berserk and ruining lives. It's kind of a Dick.
>>
>>30738543
Like when it returned us to our timeline but left our friends stranded? Though it claimed we needed the help and they didn't, so maybe they're fine. Still seems pretty dickish. It better at least compensate us by powering our final Gundam design for us.

"Jake? Are you doing alright? You look kind of...sick." You ask, feeding Dirk some of the broccoli from his General Tso's.

"Huh? Oh I'm fine." Jake says with a dismissive wave. "Remember our little...trip? I didn't take into consideration the native 'issues' when I went walking around."

"Are you saying..." Jake is talking about your mission to Vagan. Was he effected by the 'Mars Rays' that supposedly made people there sick?

"I'm fine now and you should be too considering you went to the hospital recently and got fully check out. From what I understand they effect some people more then others, X-Rounders in particular don't seem to be that deeply effected by it for some reason, at least in terms of short term exposure. Still I tested out some of the experimental treatments that Zeek cooked up and I'm doing a lot better."

"Then why do you look like crap?" You ask.

"The treatments had a few uncomfortable side effects. They're temporary and nothing lethal, but let's just say my insides feel like they got sent through a tumble dryer."

You grimace and nod. "Well I'm just glad you're not dying."

"I am too. A year or maybe even just a month there probably would have killed me. But let's not talk about death..."

"Um, Jake? Could you tell me what happened between you and Flit?" You ask, going back to eating your food.

"I'd rather not talk about it." Jake states flatly.

"Are you sure? I'm just-"

"Look, me and Flit had a lot of issues before our disagreement OK? We have a lot of bad air between us now and the disagreement was only part of it. We had a similar disagreement back on the Diva 30 something years ago. I don't like how wishes to approach things and I don't think I could allow him to do them... However things are going to be fine, I'll change Flit's mind like I did all those years ago. Now could we not talk about this right now? The memorial is going to be depressing as it is..."

Ideon wants us to build it, doesn't it.
>>
>>30738598
>It better at least compensate us by powering our final Gundam design for us.
God I hope not. That's asking for the universe to explode. Ide needs to stay away from anything powered by anything, it never ends well.
>>
>>30738636
Come on, you know you want it. And the events of Be Invoked would be a step up for this universe, really. I'd welcome the Ide passing judgement on our civilization and restarting everything. It would make things so much simpler for us.
>>
>>30738733
Hey, things haven't gotten so bad that we need a reset of the entire universe. Maybe with Jake working for Leviathan and having access to Arthur's resources, he could turn things around.
>>
>>30738615
"A-Alright..." You say, deciding to stay away from the topic.

You turn to Mellis and decide to talk to her instead.

"How is Fram doing?" You ask.

"She's doing pretty well all things considered. Still I'm worried about her. I'm glad she's spending time with Desil away from Zarth, but she's still convinced she can see ghosts." Mellis sighs and shakes her head.

"I know she's a confirmed X-Rounder, but I don't know weather to believe her or not. She's lived a hard life and Scarlet's death could have easily traumatized her with how sensitive she is. She's convinced Scarlet isn't dead and I want to believe her but..."

You reach across the table and put a hand on Mellis's. "Fram's going to be OK Mellis. She'll get over Scarlet's death eventually, we all will. Until then the best thing we can do is support Fram and show her she 's not alone anymore."

Mellis rubs her eyes and nods. "Thank you Rena. I'm glad Dirk has someone like you helping him through this."

Everyone's just about done with dinner. Is there anything else you want to ask or do you want to finish up and head to the ceremony?
>>
>>30738809
Are you sure? We've already gone past Zeta levels of depressing. Soon we'll hit Victory. Is that what you want? Only good thing is that we won't have a 13 year-old for a pilot in Gen 3, so hopefully things will be a bit less traumatic for them. Unless, of course, the child Rena's currently carrying is a red herring. They'd be 22 by the time of Generation 3, outside of the usual age range for Gundam pilots. Maybe after Dirk recovers they'll have another kid, and that one will be our Gen 3 pilot?
>>
>>30738946
No, let's get this over with. To the ceremony. Maybe the inevitable Vagan attack will give us something to do. Because we all know it will happen.
>>
>>30738946
"Yeah, he better be glad too."
Might as well get our asses over there. How long do they think the ceremony will last? Will we have to spend the day here or something?

>>30738998
Could be. Instead of Victory, we get ZZ levels of shenanigans. The Gen-3 Crocker messing around in a giant robot with his crazy grandpa.
We'll see when the next gen rolls over, I guess. I wouldn't mind some lightheartedness in this mess, considering how we'll have Arthur, Rysis and god knows what else on the loose and wrecking shit because of a war that happened over 150 years ago.
>>
>>30739024
>>30739128
"I'm sure Dirk's glad too." You say and finish up the rest of your food.

After leaving a tip and returning to the car Mellis drives you all to where the Ceremony is being held. You end up having to park two blocks away due to all the parking being taken up.

The walk isn't too bad, especially since you don't have to mingle in the massive mob like crowd. You go up to the side of the stage Capital Building where the ceremony is being given and show the Leviathan soldiers standing guard your badge.

They let you all into the building where you're directed to a room where the others being awarded are waiting for the ceremony to begin.

You can the room looking for Flit, but don't see him anywhere. You do see Carlos and one of Dirk's friends, Obright. Mellis wanders off to talk to some people and Jake walks over to a table with coffee and donuts on it.

The ceremony will begin in a few minutes, what do you wish to do?

You decide to go over and see Carlos. It's been a while since you spoke with your former Commander. Walking across the room with MID having Dirk follow along, you approach Carlos who is leaning against the back wall, sipping one some of the coffee provided.

He grimaces and you can't help but chuckle at his expression.

"Is the coffee that bad?"

"Yeah it tastes like mud, it was probably ground a few minutes ago." Carlos responds, dumping the empty cup into a nearby trash bin.

"So how are you, Dirk, and the little Crocker holding up?" He asks, gesturing towards your plump pregnant belly.

"Dirk's doing better then he has been, I've been alright, and so far the baby seems to be developing nicely. She should be due in another few weeks. How are you doing?" You ask, looking at his legs.

Carlos pats his prosthetic legs and shrugs his shoulders. "Well I can't run like I used too and squats just don't do it for me anymore, but it's better then rolling around on wheels. I'm glad to see Dirk here too, I was pretty pissed when I heard he initially wasn't considered for a medal."

"Yeah I was too, but being pissed off helps me get things done which is probably why he's now getting a medal."

Carlos laughs and resists make a joke before glancing around. "Is Desil here?"

"No. He's taking care of Fram and doing some business here on Earth."

"Any idea what he's doing?"

You shake your head. "He just said he just needed to looking into a few things. Why do you ask?"

Carlos shrugs. "No reason, just worried about the guy. Haven't seen him since Big Ring..."

"Well maybe once this is over and I have my kid we can have a little reunion party and get drunk like old times?"

"That sounds great. I think we could all stand to get a bit drunk after this..."

Before you can continue talking someone comes into the room and announces the Ceremony is going to begin. Everyone exits the room and lines up near the stage entrance.

Jake brings you a chair to sit in and you wait with Dirk while the speech goes on outside. Froi’s speech is fairly long and talks about the importance of unity and how it’s important to remember not only the sacrifices of those who died fighting, but those who survived it.

After he’s finished he begins calling people out on stage. One by one the hallway slowly empties as men and women are awarded medals by the Prime Minister himself. Eventually it’s just you and Dirk and when your name is called you go out on stage, holding his hand and leading him up to the podium.

The two of you are awarded Feral Medals of Honor in front of a massive crowd; you can even spy TV Cameras out of the corner of your eye. You can’t bring yourself to smile however.

When you joined the military you wanted to prove to your parents that you didn’t need to rely on them or you family name to succeed. Getting a medal like this was what you always dreamed of…but your comrades dying wasn’t a part of your dream.

You begin to lead Dirk off stage and Prime Minister Froi sounds like he’s about to wrap things up when he stops and looks confused.

“There’s one last medal to give apparently. The Federal Medal Ingenuity goes too…Jake Crocker for his contributions to the Federations defense systems that saved hundreds if not thousands of lives at Big Ring.”

This stops you from leaving the stage completely and you watch as Jake comes out onto stage, looking just as lost and confused as Froi does. Before Froi can even pick up the medal several armed men enter the stage, led by Admiral Flit.
Jake and Froi stop dead as the Levithan soldiers train their guns on the two of them.

“You two are under arrest.” Flit states, staring down the two.

“W-what? This is ridiculous! Under what charges?” Froi demands.

“You know very well what charges.” Flit holds up a tablet screen and while you can’t see what’s on it from this angle, Froi’s face suggests it’s nothing good.

“You’ve been conspiring with the Vagans since you came into office to protect your own career. You wanted to hide fact your family was the one who started and canceled the Mars Birthday project that led to the creation of the Vagans in the first place!”

“It was only peace talks!” Froi exclaims, but Flit ignores his excuses and turns to Jake, who glares back at him.

“And what am I under arrest for?” He demands quietly.

“You are under arrest for harboring Vagan fugitives in secret. You’re a Vagan sympathizer Jake, you took in defecting Vagan scientists and hid them on Minsry to work in that lab you set up. Instead of turning them over to the Federation you tried to protect them yourself. Tell me, did you ever find it strange that the Vagans, even with the attack on Big Ring going on, would send a fleet to attack three colonies that had no military or strategic value?”

Jake grimaces and stays quiet as Flit speaks up, the whole crowd hearing every word he was saying thanks to the podium microphone.

“The Vagans learned that you had were hiding defectors and putting them to work. They didn’t know which of the three colonies where on, so they attacked them all. It’s because of your sympathy for the enemy that cost the lives of countless civilians and soldiers, as well as the life of your own daughter and my wife! You may not have directly conspired with the enemy, but the damaged your actions caused were no less severe.”

The armed men move on Jake and Froi, hand cuffing them and moving them to the side while Flit takes to the podium.

“These two are not the only ones who have been conspiring and sympathizing with the Vagans. I have here a list of names, men and women in the Federation
Forces and Government that are guilty of similar crimes. Leviathan exists to combat the Vagans, both externally and internally. From this moment forward LEVITHAN is taking control of the Federation Government until a time when the Vagan no longer have any influence or control over it.”

“You fool!” Froi cries, struggling against the soldier holding him. “Without me the only end to this war will be through blood shed and total destruction!”

Flit turns to Froi, staring at him with nothing but an absolute burning hatred in his eyes. He didn’t have to say a word because you immediately realized that’s exactly what Flit wanted.

The complete extermination of the Vagans.

Walking away from the podium, Flit approaches you with his men, looking at Dirk specifically.

“Your husband is too dangerous to be left out of our custody Rena…

You can hear gunfire and the faint sounds of explosions in the distant. People in the crowd begin to grow restless and a few start to panic as the ground begins to lightly shake with the steps of Leviathan mobile suits getting into position.

“You’re essentially a part of the Crocker family now Rena and you had a lot of interactions with Dirk. I know that you've been told or overheard the location of Bisidian’s hide out. If you can tell me it then you are free to leave. If you refuse to tell me I’m afraid I can’t ensure the safety of your child…”

Flit stares you down as you glare back, biting your tongue and shielding your belly.

“Don’t force my head Rena. I’m giving you a choice, what will it be?”

Let's take a shot in the dark. Rena's heard enough about what Dirk uncovered that she can hazard a guess. She knows Arthur is probably alive and in charge of this. And that Flit had something to do with Emily's disappearance. Let's try to turn the screws.

"My husband is practically comatosed! What makes him so dangerous that he needs to be under your custody?"

"He's one of the strongest X-Rounders we've ever seen Rena." Flit explains. "In this state it would be easy for the Vagans to use him for their own means if they could get their hands on him."

>>30741954
"Well I don't know where they are." You say truthfully, doing your best not to come off like you're playing dumb.

"I never had any contact with them, Dirk mentioned their leader all but once when they landed. Scarlet probably knew the most about them, so why don't you put a gun between your lips so you can go ask herself." You state, spitting in Flit's face.

Flit wipes the spit off his face and looks like he's about to speak when there's a thunderous explosion in the crowd as missile strikes the middle of hit, blowing a dozen or so people to smithereens and killing countless others with blast.

Looking off the stage you see a black mobile suit, obviously of Vagan design, with pierce red eyes and a design unlike anything you've seen before. It looks similar to a Zedas, only more refined and demonic looking with a long razor sharp tail that it pulls from the cockpit of a Leviathan mobile suit, the destroyed remains of the LEVITHAN Adeles littering the street behind it.

The crowd begins to scatter, cries, shouts, and screams fill the air as the Vegan slowly approaches the stage, arms aimed at Froi and Jake.

Just as it's about to fire, a familiar White mobile suit flies in and hip checks the black suit into the side of a nearby building.

"Woolf!" You exclaim as the White Suit fires several goo grenades through the dust and rubble plastering the black suit to the building.

"These trick grenades really do take care of things don't they?" Woolf exclaims as he raises his DODS Rifle, ready to finish the Black Suit when he spies Jake in handcuffs out of the corner of his eye.

Sounds more like an upgraded Zeydalus. Vagan Gear is big enough that the narration would have commented on it. And it doesn't have a blade tail.

"What the hell is happening?" Woolf demands.

The G-Bouncer turns it's head to look towards the stage, drawing Woolf's attention away from the trapped black suit. He doesn't see the smoke rising off it or how it's armor was beginning to heat up. The orange goo oozed off it's body and it's limbs were free.

Before you could shout a warning the black suit swung it's bladed tail and severed the G-Bouncer's arms from it's body, launching forward and slamming Woolf's suit down into the concrete.

It turned it's attention back to the stage, raising it's arms once more to fire, but a DODS Rifle shot forced it to jump back as a AGE-1 looking Gundam leapt onto the scene.

The Black Suit acted quickly and skewered it's tail into the G-Bouncer's torso, severing the thrusters and fuel lines and raising it as a shield. Aiming it's arms under the G-Exes own severed limbs it readied to destroy the stage, all the pilot needed as a second to pull the trigger.

However the pilot didn't get a second as the AGE-1 like Gundam fired it's double barreled DODS Rifle through Woolf's suit, striking the black suit behind it. The black suit exploded, sending Woolf's suit grinding across the pavement and nearly sending it crashing into the stage.

"DAD!" Asemu shouted as his white AGE-2 Flat flew onto the scene, landing next to and flipping over the mangled G-Bouncer as he climbed out and ran to his father's cockpit.

He didn't notice Flit holding you and Dirk at gunpoint, he didn't notice Jake and Froi in cuffs. All Asemu noticed as his father's suit just got hit near the cockpit.

“Dad? DAD? Say something damn it!” Asemu shouted as he accessed the cockpit controls to the G-Bouncer, popping open the cockpit and climbing inside. He quickly dragged Woolf out of the cockpit, staining the white metal of the G-Bouncer with his father’s blood in the process.

Glass, metal and various other bits of shrapnel were buried all over Woolf’s body, made plain to see from the bloody patches in Woolf’s White pilot suit.

“Call a medic. NOW!” Flit shouted, running to Woolf’s side as Woolf gasps and struggles to speak, spitting and coughing up blood as he tries to say something.

“Asemu- I know I’m not your real father…”

“Don’t say that! It doesn’t matter!” Asemu shouts as his father coughs blood into his face trying to speak

“I know. It doesn’t matter who your biological father and mother are, in end…your family…are the people who love you and care for you. I love you
Asemu and I always have. So. Did. Millia-“ Woolf’s cut off as he begins to cough and gasp uncontrollably, blood flowing out of his mouth.

“Dad! DAD! NO! Don’t leave me! Don’t go like Mom did!”

“Where the fuck is that dedic?!” Flit screams, looking down in horror as Woolf drowns in his own blood.

Just as Woolf stops moving and goes limb in Asemu’s arms, the medic arrives on the stage.

Tears well up in Asemu’s remaining eye as he sets his father on the floor, his expression going from one of sadness to absolute rage, looking back at the AGE-1 Mk.II that had shot him and back to Flit.

“YOU.” Asemu growls, drawing his gun and pointing it at Flit.

Flit leaps forward and grabs Asemu’s arm, trying to pry it from Asemu’s hands. The guards try to move to assist, but realize they have people to hold.

“Stop this Asemu! It was an accident!”

“Oh yeah I’m sure it was! Just how me being abandoned and left to think you’d killed my mother was all an accident!”

Asemu struggles against Flit’s grip, trying to point his gun towards Flit’s body.

“Asemu you don’t understand we-“

“I do understand! You bastards don’t care about anyone but yourselves! You just want revenge and Emily…I don’t know what she wants! But I don’t care! All I know is you people need to pay for everything you've done!”

"Asemu just listen!"

"MY NAME IS ASH!" Asemu fires the gun, shooting Flit in the shoulder and knocking him backwards into a pool of Woolf's blood.

The guards begin to open fire on Asemu but he's already made it to his suit. You try to take advantage of the situation but you suddenly find it's very hard to breath.

Looking down you see red spot above your left breast bloom out, staining your white dress red with blood.

Your legs shake and you fall, one of the LEVIATHAN Soldiers catch you and shouts something.

You're laid out on the floor, struggling to breath as the medic rushes over to you.

Gunfire begins to go off all around you and the ground shakes as Asemu clashes with the AGE-1 Mk.II. The medic ducks his head, swearing as he tries to treat your wound.

You feel a pain in your loins and scream as your water breaks, horror washing across the medic's face, made only worse as your husband launches a LEVIATHAN Soldier across the stage and begins wildly firing.

You struggle to breath and your vision begins to fade as pain overwhelms you. Men in powered armor run past, you hear screams of agony and see the remains of soldiers thrown like rag dolls.

More men come and you're taken away from the gunfire and the fighting. The last thing you see before you black out is the your injured husband being scooped off the stage by Asemu's mobile suit, Dirk screaming out and reaching out to you as he's taken away, Leviathan soldiers and mobile suits pouring into the area...

For a while you think you’re dead. The pain is gone, the light is gone, and all you can see is darkness. However slowly pain begins to return to you and with that pain life returns as well. You open your eyes and gasp, the very act of breathing brings painful tears to your eyes.

You look around and see you’re not in a hospital despite all the medical equipment hooked up to you. For a moment your brain struggles to recall what happened, but as you look down at your stomach a cold shot of horror fills your soul.

Yanking up your shirt you find a scar running up your now flat and empty belly, suggesting your baby, your only child, was cut out of you…

It takes every ounce of will power not to yank the wires and tubes hooked into your body and leap out the nearest window to start your search. Looking around you find you're in someone's bedroom, or a spare bedroom of sorts considering how cluttered everything is.

Looking out the window you see you're on the second floor, with nothing but trees as far as your semi-blurry vision can see.

Just as you realize you're not remotely close to Bluethia anymore, the door opens and you see Carlos step into the room, followed by Obright and a brown haired women who appears to be Obright's wife.

"Rena! You're awake!" Carlos exclaims, rushing to your bedside.

"What. Happened." You demand through gritted teeth, still on the verge of tears from the pain in your chest.

"You got shot and brought to a hospital in Bluethia. When I heard what happened I got Obright to help me get you out of there before Leviathan could move you anywhere."

"That was about a week ago." Obright explains as Remi walks over to check you out, and it takes a considering effort not to swat her hands away.

"What. About. My. Baby?" You demand, and nearly cry when Carlos and Obright don't respond.

"We couldn't find him..." Obright eventually admits, causing you to burst into angry tears.

"That doesn't mean he's dead damn it!" Carlos shouts. "We searched as much of the hospital as we could, but Leviathan goons were crawling all over the damn place! I'm sorry Rena but we looked as long as we possibly could for your kid. If we waited any longer they would have spirited you off to god knows where just like they did with Jake..."

"Where. Is. Jake?" You ask, your voice hoarse now.

"We don't know. We know he's alive and incarcerated somewhere but we haven't heard anything specific." Obright explains.

Pretty much. The Zarths seem like a family that's willing to do anything to stay in power and in the good graces of whoever's in charge.
And if Hunter's around, he'll probably go after Leviathan considering what they just pulled. Unless they got to him first.
>>
>>30744541
"Everyone else Leviathan has been arresting, everyone on that list of Flit's is getting a lot worse then imprisonment. With the President and most of the Federal executed for treason Leviathan has near total control of the government and soon they'll have the Federal Forces under their foot too." Carlos states with a grimace.

"The fucked up part is Leviathan actually has legal diction. When Grodek established Leviathan he managed to trick or somehow convince the president to give Leviathan the power to intervene in the government in the case of Vagan take over or manipulation. Flit could have pulled a legal Coup this whole fucking time!" Carlos shouts, but brings his voice back down upon seeing your condition.

"What. about. Dirk?" You ask, trying to get your crying under control.

"We don't know. We believe he's with Asemu somewhere, but we haven't been able to find anything on them. They've practically disappeared and Leviathan is desperate to find them from the looks of things. "

"We should be safe for now, but we need to decide what we're going to do. With Leviathan and Flit in control of things there are going to be a lot of changes and I assume those changes aren't going to ones we like." Obright says, walking over to the window and glancing out at the forest.

What do you wish to do Rena? What are your plans for the future?

Dr. Halsey Heart sat in the lab provided to her by Leviathan. They had taken a great interest in her research into genetics and cybernetics and given her a place at one of their most advanced research centers. After Dr. Spriggans refused to cooperate and vanished along with most of his institute staff, Dr. Halsey became the foremost authority on X-Rounders and the genetics behind them.

She was tasked with numerous projects; some seemed ambitious while others seemed outright impossible. However she loved the challenge, she loved the freedom she was given to experiment, and she loved that she no longer had to work by any kind of 'ethical standard'.

Looking over the requirements for Project: KIO she was practically giddy with excitement. Walking over to the nearby window, she saw all the infants she had been given to utilize in her experimentation and in her perfection of Cyber X-Rounder technology.

Out of all the infants there was one very, very peculiar one. It was an extra she had gotten with almost no paper work on where it came from or who they had gotten it from. That wasn’t what made this baby so interesting. It was the fact she had no X-Rounder potential what so ever. The X-Region of her brain was so under developed it was almost non-existent.

Looking at the baby she got almost as excited as she did about KIO. Cyber-X-Rounders were one thing, but with this baby she could create something else, the polar opposite to Project KIO’s aim of creating the world’s strongest X-Rounder. With this child she could create…an Anti-X-Rounder.
It would be difficult and it’s possible the child might not pine out, but Dr. Heart felt that the child would meet her expectations.

“Sleep tight my little ones, you will lead busy, busy lives…”

Emily and Halsey working together for Leviathan.
There's no way those kids will end up messed up.

Sure thing, man. Thanks for running, and see you next time.
>>
>>30746175
Wait. Wait. What? Am I reading this right? Because it sounds like in this universe Wendy Hearts is going to have an older sister who isn't just a psychic null but also Dirk and Rena's child. Is that what this is supposed to imply? Crosswire, you magnificent bastard! You're right, Generation 3 is going to be very fun indeed. Thanks for running. I can't wait for next time.

PS: What does "KIO" stand for? What backronym of Kio Asuno's name did you come up with?
>>
>>30745964
Ew. No.
>>
>>30746363
I haven't decided yet, what do you guys think K.I.O should stand for?
>>
>>30746505
K should obviously mean "Kira".
>>
>>30746505
Well, given that Arthur is behind this project, the K could be for "King". How about the "King Instrumental Overhuman"?
>>
>>30746582
>King Instrumental Overhuman

That sounds pretty cool actually. Not sure Kio deserves that, but I'll keep it in mind.
>>
>>30746638
His creators having inappropriately high hopes for him is entirely what Kio deserves. They put all this effort into making the ultimate psychic, pinned all their hopes on it, even gave the project the most awesome name they could think of and got...this guy. Well, that was twenty-three years of my life wasted.
>>
>>30746363
You're reading it right. And she's probably going to be a cyborg as well as bio-enhanced. Jade Hearts (originally Crocker)?

That is, if she's the protagonist, and not Dirk and Rena's second kid after they meet up at Bisidian.
>>
>>30746749
Or Asemu and Scarlet's kid. With Dirk and Asemu on the run they'll probably join up with Rysis eventually. And that means ScarletxAsemu will be on the table again. But regardless, no matter who our Gen 3 protagonist is, they're going to be the sibling of one of Leviathan's brainwashed aces. We're on course for maximum drama. Should be a fun trip.
>>
>>30746727
Well, if they go through that training Hunter went through, those things might end up killing machines instead of... well, Kio.

>>30746582
Killing-Intended Overhumans?
>>
>>30746848
Dirk can take on the mantle of the Black Devil, now that Jake's in prison.
And yeah, they probably are going to join Bisidian after this recent fiasco with Flit and Jake.
>>
>>30747122
You know, we never really came up with good ace titles for our Gen 2 protagonists. We should think some up. Asemu is obviously going to be Captain Ash, but what are the rest going to be? Dirk, Scarlet and Rena need some new names. Anyone have any ideas?
>>
>>30747223
Scarlet was going by Red Nightmare back when Gen-2 started - her old roleplaying nick. She's probably the new Black Raven, considering how Rysis took her under her wing. Dirk apparently had a really, really embarrassing one back when he was messing around with the Asuno twins and he dropped it, so I'm guessing Dark Magician. Now with Jake in prison, he could inherit his dad's old name, just to mess with some heads. Rena never had one, as she was part of a squad.
>>
>>30747382
I don't know, Dirk needs a name of his own. Dark Magician is actually not that bad. Especially since he's piloting the Merlin. Or was, anyway. We need to seize an AGE Builder as soon as possible. Maybe the Treasure Star will finally get home and we can use theirs. However we do it, we need to rebuild the Merlin and give it some upgrades. What was it we were throwing around as a name for its upgrade if things went south? Merlin Cambion, I think?
>>
>>30747501
Cambion and Ambrosius, yeah. Though Cambion seems more fitting now.

The Merlin was wrecked during the battle for Big Ring, though. If it even remained in one piece, considering how Asemu just dragged him aboard the AGE-2 before everything exploded.

His kid is going to end up piloting the Cambion, isn't she?
>>
>>30747678
I don't think so. She'll probably pilot some custom early-model AGE-3. Remember the concept art with the AGE-3 having a mouth capable of screaming? I'm seeing that in her future. Especially since Leviathan has access to the early Grail tech that was insanely berserk.

That'd be cool. If she is an Anti-X-Rounder, she could probably pull off controlling that thing.

Hopefully Flit will use his position to at least modernize and strengthen Earth's forces.
The Vagans aren't going to hold back now, considering the purge and all.
>>
>>30747946
If there's one thing Flit puts a priority on, it's killing Vagans. I'm sure the Federation military will do just fine. Up to a point, anyway. There are definitely going to be some major losses. Otherwise, there would be nothing for Arthur to dramatically save them from.
>>
>>30748005
Maybe with Leviathan in charge, they'll cut down on the bureaucracy and do what needs to be done. Today's attack showed that the Vagans already have sleeper cells on Earth - they need to get new weapons and suits mass produced, and fast. Maybe they'll even have MP Clanches as the default unit, especially if Flit begins utilizing all the AGE builders to their fullest and spreads them around.

As for Arthur, we'll see. It'd be interesting if he showed care for his great-granddaughter and tries to give her a normal life and all the best toys he can. MaG is in his custody now, and she'd be perfect for the new grailtech gundam he made just for her.
>>
>>30748197
Oh god, I hadn't even thought about what happened to Ma G. Poor thing, this is awful for her. Okay, now we have three people to rescue from Leviathan. At least MID and Dirk will be SUPER motivated.

In b4 Leviathan uses the grail tech and a female test subject to make an Aulgelmir or worse, pic related.
>>
>>30748380
What does Drakengard 3 have to do with this? Did you mean to post that, or did we get the image swap glitch?
>>
>>30748270
Not just her - CDACE, the Magic Schoolbus crew, Mellis, Jake, the list goes on.
And half of those people will be in their sixties by the time Gen-3 starts.
>>
>>30748380
Oh, just guessing what can be done with Grail tech at their furthest.

>Let's cover the world in grail and purify it white under the watch of holy maidens.
>>
>>30748532
I think the MSB crew are fine. They're off in space right now, they can flee to Bisidian. And I don't think anyone will mess with CDACE. But Mellis is in potential danger. Hopefully she and Desil can get out safely.

>>30748541
Ah. Well, that could happen, I suppose. Though if it does, we better get an epilogue set 1300 years later starring someone with an identical appearance to Dirk fighting shadow monsters with the help of a wise-talking book-shaped Haro.

That sounds like something Ezelcant might do, actually. The Vagans have one grailtech crystal already, and are probably already investigating on how to utilize it to the fullest - maybe by merging it with captured X-Rounders.

>>30748634
You mean wise talking book-shaped MID.

>>
>>30748870
No, MID is off with Gestalt Dirk. Replicant Dirk has to settle for a Haro.

What did I just walk into?

>>30748898
THE GREATEST OF FEASTS!
>>
>>30748947
Kio and Nowe do have a number of similarities, now that I think about it. Whiny, possessing incredible powers due to fucked-up genetics, easily persuaded to abandon their allegiances because of seeing one tiny bit of injustice...

So, who's Caim in this universe? Which of our characters is so enthusiastic about killing that they can even murder Death itself? Rysis, maybe?
>>
>>30748634
Hopefully, yeah. They're also the ones who can get the Gawain and Merlin, as well as an AGE Builder for Bisidian.

>>30749004
Rysis or Arthur. Maybe the original MADNUG. SIN is also a strong contender, if he's the one responsible for the entire "kill them all" philosophy and the current state of Vagan.

in b4 grail tech leads to semibio-angels/dragons, and then these angels...

Eh, fuck it, let's have grail-tech not-EVA series too.
>>
>>30749222
Dude, not-Evangelions were the plan from day one with the Grail crystals. Especially after we found the bio-mimetic cybernetics in that lab on Zarth (note: we need to raid that lab at some point. As far as I know the only people who know what's in it are all on our side, so it should be safe.). Our Gen 3 Gundam is going to be as much grown as made. Assuming we can get the Grail and nanomachine technology back.
>>
>>30749222
Keep in mind that grailtech was experimental during the Colony Nation wars, and that even they didn't bother too much with it.
And these guys made disassembler swarms as weapons of mass destruction.

>>30749273
Yeah. Uther also said there're lots of abandoned or forgotten labs there, who knows what we may find.
>>
>>30749302
Grailtech didn't exist back then. X-Rounder technology in general was at its infancy. Living psychic crystals were a long way away. But now that they do have it...It's not going to be pretty.
>>
>>30749004
Flit is as close to Caim as it gets now.
>>
>>30749339
I think it was mentioned how Jake received schematics on how to make it from someone. The original purpose was to expand MaG's crystal brain, and it turned out that those crystals were alive.

It just occurred to me that if someone knew how to make those things it could've been Uther. And that we found a book on space-time travel in his apartment on Solon. Did he have something to do with the Treasure Star and its Grand Wing system?
>>
>>30749404
The fact is that we don't know anything about where Grail came from. Jake said he received schematics anonymously. The crazy Vagan lady said that he made it all by himself. We know for certain that X-Rounder tech wasn't around in the Colony Nations War, though, so wherever it came from it was made afterwards.

As for the Grand Wing and Uther, that book was all in code and MID interrupted his decryption attempts to help us at Big Ring. And then never got back to it because he was busy helping care for Dirk. It could be anything. Uther probably didn't help with the Treasure Star, though. Not unless in Ryuji's now-defunct future he awakened and somehow got away from Arthur's manipulations.
