>What is This?Saiyan Story is a series of Choose Your Own Adventure threads in which you play the part of a Saiyan Warrior. Decisions are made by vote, with the option to earn the most in a ten minute interval winning.>StatsPower Level: 45,000,000Health: ExcellentKi: 100%>RecapWith Vegeta and Bulma searching the galaxy for surviving Saiyans, you have been left in charge of the New Saiyan Empire. Bardock and Onia departed to find other races to join the empire, while Spina returned to planet Venj to train animals for the empire. Things were going well until Kami received a vision of a creature devouring you and your loved ones. So, you gathered everyone you could at Kami's Lookout.>Welcome to the Grand Finale, ladies and gentleman
>>30759613>Welcome to the Grand Finale, ladies and gentlemanSo the quest's ending?
>>30759721Certainly looks that way. And from the end of the last thread, it seems it's going to be rather brief.
>>30759747Well that ducks
You have all gathered.Family and friends stand together on Kami's Lookout, uncertain of what is to come. The younger children don't seem to fully grasp what is going on, but they can clearly sense the distress the adults are feeling, as they remain quiet.Salta and Spina do their best to keep the children calm, Fita paces nervously, the Androids stand off to the side, bored expressions on their faces. Fluffy, apparently sensing danger, growls lowly and looks around."Okay, so what exactly are we going to d-" Salta begins before staring up into the sky.Turning around and following her gaze, you see someone you have only heard described by your family, though part of those descriptions involved him being dead.Cooler, chunks of flesh missing and replaced with cybernetics, hovers above the Lookout, hand raised above his head, gathering energy and forming a massive ball of it. At his side hovers a creature with a similar body type, but major differences. For one thing, its head is entirely mechanical, and most of its body is horrifically maimed, cybernetics jutting out everywhere on it. "Well, looks like I finally get to finish what my brother started," Coller states gleefully before hurling his ball of energy at you.>A. Go Super Saiyan 3 and try to stop it>B. Grab everyone and teleport off the Lookout>C. Charge Cooler>D. Say something>E. Something else
>>30759766>B. Grab everyone and teleport off the Lookoutinb4 this one decision decides wheter game over or not
>>30759766>ESuper Saiyan 3 to try and stop it, but telepathically tell Salta, Spina, Fita, and 17 and 18 to get everyone out in case these fuckers are much stronger than we're anticipating.
>>30759827Sure why not
>>30759766>EHave everyone teleport out, power up as far as we can, and IT somewhere else with the blast to send it off in a safe direction. Then finish powering up and IT back to engage.
>>30759873>>30759827>>30759793Vote, and come on guys, use your heads
>>30759928Hey, I call when we do votes.But yeah, vote.>>30759793>>30759827>>30759873
>>30759793That'd suck, since we have no indication of what would be a good idea. No indication of Cooler's strength, the other thing's strength, the strength of the blast, or how long it will take for the blast to reach us? Yeah, I'm not sure how we're expected to come to a decision based on what we have aside from gut reactions or trying to "outsmart" the QM.
>>30759928>use your headsReally? With this situational awareness?Might as well literally use our heads and headbutt the energy ball
>>30759954I can make a thousand different hypothesis about their capabilities and the situation, and each one will lead me to a different answer. This isn't math, so yeah
>>30759984That would be amusing>>30759954Well, a few threads back, Bardock had a vision of this new Cooler that was much stronger than him even at Super Saiyan 2. Cooler is also close enough to see and hear, so the blast probably won't take long to reach us.
Does an energy blast travel at near lightspeed or is it closer to the speed of a bullet? Can either of them absorb energy? How strong are they and more importantly, if they are actually stronger than SSJ3 how in hell do you beat them, unless you get everyone to gang on them/use genki dama? And so on.
>>30759943The closest I can come to an actual strategy is similar to >>30759873Have everyone IT clear, powerup as far as we can before the blast hits, and put up ki armor. Then, IT with the blast, but reverse our orientation upon reappearance and move to Cooler's side. Either we reappear and the ball's momentum is gone, at which point we throw it back at him and finish powering up, or the momentum continues towards Cooler, and we power up.That's all I've got.
>>30760092Shit, they might absorb energy. So maybe >>30759873 is the only viable solution presented so far, as-is. Forget >>30760158.
>>30760092>>30760077>>30760021>>30760005>>30759984>>30759954>>30759928>>30759873>>30759862>>30759827>>30759799>>30759793You and the other adults grab everyone and use Instant Transmission to escape the Lookout just before the blast hits. The Lookout is completely consumed by the horrific energy of the blast, obliterated in seconds. Around you, Salta, Spina, Fita, Erica, and Kayle power up to their most powerful states. You decide to do the same, powering up to Super Saiyan 3 just as Cooler and the other cyborg arrive.Cooler examines you with interest. "Your power level greatly outclasses all of those around you. You must be the Super Saiyan who killed my brother. You know, when your son died, it was because you weren't there. My quarrel has been with you and you alone, but your stupid child decided to defy me. So, I killed him, and the females nearly killed me. I'm Lucky I have such intelligent friends." He motions to the other cyborg. "And, of course, you remember my father, King Cold. I'm afraid he's not even half the man he used to be, but now he is far more powerful and far less irritating. So, will you do the intelligent thing and all attack us at once, or does your Saiyan pride demand that you fight alone?">A. Alone>B. Together>C. Say nothing, launch a surprise attack
>>30759613We could have just had a thread where we tied off loose ends, then ended neutral. Maybe had a little epilogue about how the next generation stepped up.But no, apparently we're going to end on one last clusterfuck of an Android fight, fumbling around trying to figure out if there's any option on the table that isn't retarded.
>>30760239Athe others are too weak for this, maybe get Fita to go charge a spirit bomb while we try to hold them off
>>30760239>C. Say nothing, launch a surprise attack>D. Telepathically coordinate the simultaneous group strikeOperation Group Rape
>>30760288The others are around Bardock's SSJ2 level, so they can at least help while we are the main damage dealer. That is, they're there to support, not main him.
>>30760296>>30760288We could mix it.Salta, Spina, 18, 17, Frank strike at full power while Fita loads the Spirit Bomb
>>30760239>CDraw sword, set up for a lava attack while pretending to get ready to say something "clever". Then IT closer, lava Cooler in the face, then IT to what's left of cold and hit him with a surprise ki-sword slash. Then IT a short distance from them.Mentally tell the adults that they should try and land attacks of opportunity while we take them head-on, and to watch for energy absorption.
>>30760332>>30760358Some combination. Let Fita do her thing, let the other "secondary" fighters get some good shots in when they can, but get in close and keep the enemy's attention. It should go without saying, but IT should be our normal method of closing and disengaging at this point.
>>30760332>>30760325>>30760322>>30760296>>30760288You say nothing, vanishing before Cooler's eyes and appearing to his side, firing a massive energy blast into the side of his head. He goes sailing past Cyborg Cold, who simply leans back to avoid a collision. At the same time, you telepathically tell the others to coordinate in an attack and tell Fita to charge a spirit bomb. As she does so, the others all fire their most powerful energy waves as one, and you do the same."KA.........ME...............HA..........ME.........HAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!" you shout, unleashing your blast along with theirs. You notice your sword glow brightly as everyone unleashes their energy, and all of the blasts strike Cooler head on. There is an explosion that causes the ground to shake violently, and sends out a shockwave that knocks everyone off their feet. When you all stand, nothing remains of Cooler but a half dissolved head and some scattered pieces of scrap metal.Cyborg Cold turns to examine his fallen comrade, then turns to look at you. In a monotone, mechanical voice, he says, "Activating Omega protocol."He stretches his hands to either side, and they begin to glow red as a dome of matching energy surrounds him. His body begins to glow the same color, and you feel an incredible amount of power building, more then enough to wipe you out."He's going to self destruct!" 18 yells.>A. Destroy him before he can! Everyone attack at once!>B. Teleport him away from Earth>C. Grab everyone and get off the planet
>>30760528B.IT him to deep space, let go, IT back home.
>>30760528Are there other dragon balls to use to wish everything back if earth is destroyed?
>>30760528Band there were no more threats ever and the Saiyans lived life happily ever after as Space cops
>>30760528>BIT to Hell with Cold. IT back.
>>30760621We're just putting him back where we found him. And let's face it, that's where he and his son are gonna end up anyway.
>>30760654Bonus points if we drop in on a surprised Gero and tell him "here, hold this".
So we could literally just let him polish himself off and wish everything back with no consequence?
>>30760692Bad karma, but yeah, I guess. But is that really Frank's style at this point? Sit back and let it happen, then wish it all away like a bitch?
>>30760621>>30760654>>30760672Kami walks up.>"Frank... where did you send them?">"Hell.">"I know that, but where did you take him to explode?">"Hell. I can do shit like that now."
>>30760692>>30760672>>30760654>>30760621>>30760588>>30760582>>30760556>>30760551>>30760547You grab the Cyborg, a struggle, since you must reach through the dome of energy to do so. Still, you succeed, and seize him, using Instant Transmission to teleport him where he belongs. You end up in Hell, in front of a very surprised Doctor Gero. You shove the cyborg his way."Here, hold this," you tell him before using Instant Transmission to go back to Earth."Well, that was easy," Spina comments."Yeah, too easy," Salta says. "I would have thought Fita's parents would have something far more impressive when they finally made their move.">A. Ask why she's so sure it's Fita's parents>B. Go to Mars and confront Fita's parents>C. Contact Vegeta>D. Contact Bardock>E. Something else
>>30760786>A. Ask why she's so sure it's Fita's parents>B. Go to Mars and confront Fita's parents>C. Contact Vegeta>D. Contact Bardock
>>30760786>E"Shhhhhshshshsh... don't say that. Don't ever say that.""Anyway, why do you think it's them?">BPower down to SSJ2, stab the shit out of what's left of Cooler's head, then contact Vegeta and Bardock from Capsule Corp. Keep the group together.
>>30760786does the cooler head have a mind that we can read?
>>30760906Actually, yeah. Do this instead of stabbing it.Then stab it.
>>30760786A, how do you know it was them and not a bullshit event like... Always?Seriously, I start to feel bad for them.Maybe I should do something nice for them.but just in case, and just in case, I call vegeta and bardock to report them what happened. And then I go there, and invite Fita's parents on a museum trip.then I ask them about it when we dine over it.Anything I forgot?
>>30760906This is worth checking out.
>>30760786>E"Yeah, but this isn't what Kami had a vision about. I need to know what comes next."Keep the group together, and investigate Cooler's head. See if there's anything resembling a mind left to interrogate as to who sent him after us. Should that fail, we send the group to Venj for a moment and go straight to Fita's parents and mentally interrogate them.
>>30761016no, we invite them with respect and without prejudice to dinner. They may be sociopathic scientists, but even sociopaths can be good people.
>>30761055Bullshit. I'm tired of dancing around the issue. If they're innocent, they should submit and we'll find out that it's not them.
>>30761016Also, should have specified, power down to SSJ2. The Lookout's toast, so we have no senzus.
>>30761133>>30761109>>30761016>>30761186"Yeah, but this isn't what Kami had a vision about," you tell her. "I need to know what comes next."You power down to Super Saiyan 2, and walk over to Cooler's head and attempt to read its mind. As expected, there is nothing t read. Half of his head isn't even there, and it's dead anyway. You order the others to head for Venj. Reluctantly, they do so, and you use Instant Transmission to head to Mars. Oddly, you can't send Fita's parents anywhere. However, you soon hear them over a loudspeaker."Welcome, my lord," the male says. "It's so good to see you here.""We would have been disappointed if you had been slain by those weak little cyborgs," the female tells you. "Especially when we went to all the trouble of preparing a true test for you." Several panels on the floor slide open, and dozens of figures emerge. It takes a moment to process exactly what you're seeing.Dozens of Cooler's and King Colds stand before you, smirking devilishly. Your scouter puts the Coolers at 470,000,000, and the King Colds at 950,000,000."Thanks to you and your family, we were able to gather large amounts of genetic material from King Cold and Cooler," the male informs you. "Using that, material, we have created hundreds of clones.""With such an army, the entire universe will bow before us soon," the female tells you. "Of course, that will happen far more easily if you are not around to interfere.">A. Destroy all of the King Colds and Coolers with a massive blast>B. Enter through one of the floor panels before it closes, and search for Fita's parents>C. Take out your foes one at a time with your bare hands, it's the best way to conserve energy>D. Retreat to Venj
>>30761328>F. Sense Fita's parents locations>A. Kill them with powerful blasts>G. Blow up the planet with a weak blast>E. Teleport to Earth.
>>30761328>BGo after the aliens who are definitely NOT Fita's parents, cut down any Colds or Coolers that get in our way. Also, let our family know via telepathy that there are a bunch of Cooler and Cold clones on Mars in case they want any of that action, and their power levels.
>>30761385I want to take them alive in case they've done any brainwashing while we weren't paying attention. I want to know exactly what they've done before sending them to hell. And I want to do it with lava, because that ability is too cool to not be used.
>>30761385can't sense em. must be elsewherethe place might have clues as to where they are
>>30761547Voting >>30761425Ideally using sensing to find the aliens. It lets us interrogate the aliens, it lets our family get killy, and it doesn't involve blowing up Mars and one of our sets of dragon balls.
so, i haven't really been around this quest muchhas nobody tried a fusion yet?
>>30761673Don't think anyone's learned the technique.
>>30761328E.IT to Arey and Nail, inform them what's going on. Gather the Mars Dragon Balls, IT with the two of them to Venj. Then just annihilate Mars entirely.
>>30761457Fucking lava? What?
>>30761723You haven't been here recently, have you? Our new sword can make lava for some reason.
>>30761750I missed like 2 threads. Also that's fucking awesome what
>>30761774Yeah. We've never used it in battle, and at our power level it's a distraction or crowd control, but forging the new ki sabre on Huhn-Tresh's planet in lava and the flames lets us shoot lava from it.One of three like it ever, she said.
>>30761597>>30761425You jumps into one of the open panels, finding yourself in a large corridor. You dash down it, slaughtering several Coolers and King Colds as you search for Fita's parents. The corridor leads you to an elevator shaft, and you leap down, blasting your way through the roof of the elevator at the bottom and then through the doors, entering a large room. There, you finally find them.Fita's parents sit in two massive chair, looking entirely calm as you enter the room. Before them stands a tall creature with green skin, wings, and a long clubbed tail. Its eyes glow red as it stares at you.>A. Say something>B. Do something
>>30762109>BLava in eyes, IT to Venj, power up to SSJ3 while informing the gang that the aliens created Cell and we want to handle it alone because we saw it munching on people we love and we can't let that shit slide. Then IT back to the room we were in before and slice Cell into gibbets. No mercy, nonstop IT, cut, then IT, then cut. MAYBE mix in a ki blast or two.Do not stop until it is dead.
>>30762109>Before them stands a tall creature with green skin, wings, and a long clubbed tail. Its eyes glow red as it stares at you.some kind of cell thing?
>>30762109B.Lava wave in front of the whole room, focused towards Fita's parents.
>>30762291>>30762267>>30762156You hold the hilt of your sword to your chest, transferring the body heat through it and unleashing it in a blast of lava. The creature shields itself , but the blast strikes Fita's parents, who scream as they burn alive. Using Instant Transmission, you teleport to Venj and tell the others what has happened as you power up to a Super Saiyan 3. You teleport back to Mars, finding the creature staring at its dead masters.>A. Say something>B. Do something
>>30762291Again, I want to interrogate the aliens. I don't want any surprise bullshit mind control coming up unexpectedly.>>30762156I'd also ask them to go to Huhn-Tresh's planet, since the aliens know that Spina liked Venj and may have expected them to go there.
>>30762413>A"Nothing personal, but what I've seen you do can't be allowed to happen."If he moves to attack us at any point, IT behind him, leaving a flashbang afterimage, and slash at him with the sword. Whether he blocks or not, IT to the other side again and hit him in the head with a dijon driller.Maximum prejudice.
>>30762495Actually, nix that. Aim the first sword slash at his tail.Always go for the tail.
>>30762524For that matter, dispense with the talking altogether. I feel like giving Cell any time to try anything against us is a mistake.
>>30762495>>30762524>>30762577So to make this clear, since nobody is voting or posting alternatives, this entails immediately IT'ing to Cell's side, cutting off his tail, then IT'ing to his opposite side leaving a flashbang, and finishing with a dijon driller to his head.
>>30762621>>30762577>>30762495You use Instant Transmission, appearing behind the creature and slicing off its tail with your sword. You leave a flashbang afterimage, then teleport to his side, blasting him through the head with a Dijon Driller. He laughs as the wounds heal, and he picks his severed tail off the floor. He rips the club off of it and hurls it at you.>A. Dodge>B. Block>C. Blast it>D. Catch it

>>30762763>AIT out of its path, cut off his tail then his head, and use the time to prep a kamehameha. When he tries to interrupt us, IT to his side, away from the tail and clear of him, and let the kamehameha loose. We can cut him, so we're strong enough to win. We just need to incinerate every last trace of him.
>>30762870None of the above. Voting >>30762873He's thrown his tail at us for a damn good reason. Anything other than full dodge is a mistake.

>>30762928>>30762919>>30762899>>30762873You use Instant Transmission to get out of the way, avoiding the club as it explodes into a strange energy net that would have immobilized you. You slice off your foe's tail and then his head, using Instant Transmission to put some distance between you and he."KAAAAAAAA...........MEEEEEEEEE..........HAAAA.........MEEEEE......HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!" you yell as he begins to regenerate, firing a massive Kamehameha wave at him, striking him head on with enough force to destroy a dozen planets. There is a flash of light, and the ground shakes. Then, nothing. You no longer sense him, and nothing remains where you blasted.>A. Tell your family it is safe>B. You then hunt down the remaining clones and give them the same treatment. Soon, the entire world has been sterilized. You teleport to Venj and tell your family what has happened.>The next dayWith no sign of the creature returning, everyone has gone back to Mars. >>30764100On a scale of Star Trek to Doctor Who, how much time travel will be involved in the next thread?
>>30764100So any ideas on what you're next quest might be? Also I'm curious, was ending the quest a recent decision or had you been planning on ending it around now?
>>30764140So, how's your friend's quest gonna be?Do we make a char or go off with a pre set.If it's too much to share now no worries, but it'd be nice to know a bit about it.Also will his time be the same as yours?

>>30764290He lives in the same timezone as me, so probably the same time of day. I think he said he's only going to do like four days a week though, not seven. Same basic premise of Saiyan Story, only set a bit earlier, different characters, more serious, different vote system, yadda yadda.>>30764253I'm not sure yet, honestly. I'd considered an Avatar (Last Airbender) quest, but am unsure. Someone else mentioned that they might like to make one.>>30764323Sounds good
>>30764370Despite all the criticism I like your job, so I hope you do make a new quest. try not to make such an abrupt ending next time though hahaha
>>30764394I'll try, lol. And thank you, that means a lot.
>>30764370See you around, Som. Didn't always agree with everything that you did, but I had fun anyhow. If you iron out some of the rough edges, I think you could become a pretty good questrunner.
>>30764444Thank you, anon
>>30764460See you, Space Cowboy.
>>30764370>Sounds goodCouldn't help but toss in one more round of greentext.
>>30764759Till next time Som
>>30764759I mentioned these things I made a while back. Thought that now that the Quest is over I might share.I'm using this as a proxy in Legacy games.
>>30764999Till next time>>30765204Nice>>30764877And it is appreciated
>>30765269Also, since the proxy rules are lenient, I'm also using this. It's the image that you described as "surprisingly similar" to Huhn-Tresh, and it's been my mental image since then.Yeah, so that's a thing.
>>30765269Somnius, as someone who's been following from day one and made more than my fair share of fanart, I say good riddance. This quest has been far too waifu-centric, and honestly, DBZ-questan as a Saiyan has no real tension.Good on you for sticking with it for 124 quests, though.
>>30765754Thanks, and thanks for your honesty
This is finally over.Thank god.
I don't know why I followed it to the end, but I did. There were some good moments, and even though I hated most of the rest of it I think I might actually end up missing it.It's weird.
This was absolutely disgusting. The only good thing somnius ever did was figure out it needed to end.
>>30769114When your polls drop from 15-20 participants down to four, on a good day, that's kind of an indication.
>>30765754That's why I think a Dragonball quest as a human would be more interesting as you can't rely solely on your power level.
>>30769253Hoping MINOQ is planning TienQuest.Hell, I'd love to be Appule's race.
>>30769311Hope MINOQ doesn't continue the somnius legacy of worst written quest.
>>30769808I'm not entirely sure that's fair. Off the top of my head I can think of InsertNameHere, Archelon, and Landing Gear, who are worse than SOM in terms of plot, writing ability, waifuing, and/or QM-ing in general. I can think of a few who are worse in at least one aspect who I otherwise like: for example, AzureEarth's writing leaves something to be desired, even if enjoy reading his threads. If I could nail SOM for a few specific things it would be the weak-ass ending, over-reliance on "Say Something / Do Something" as options, the occasional bout of combativeness, and the fact that his updates were always short compared to the time they took. For the most part, though, I'd say he was par for the course as QMs go. Which is a shame, really, because I have a soft spot for the setting and I liked some of the characters.
>>30770081In fact, I think I'm going to rewrite the whole final arc, just for my own purposes. That's really what irks me: after 124 threads of wanting to see how it ends, it ends in a whimper.
>>30770081All those Qm's you named are better than somnius at every single field you named. Except maybe Landing gear at general QMing, and that is one hell of a maybe. somnius is the worst by a long shotonly guy who even comes close is mustache twirler
>>30770576>INH>better writerThe man is barely fluent in English by his own admission (from one of the early threads), Archelon's entire quest is about waifus and (for an unreasonably long while, at least) party-preparation, and Landing Gear... was Landing Gear, you understand what I mean if you were ever there. MSQ was basically SWQ for people who wanted MORE waifuing and MORE little anime girls, in case you've forgotten.Face it, SOM really wasn't THAT bad, and most other QMs aren't really THAT good. And this comes from one of the more vocal critics from about thread 30 onward. Sure there were plenty of things to find fault with, but at the end of the day it's not worth getting vitriolic over.
>>30770934Other QM's aren't THAT good (except a rare few). But somnius really was THAT bad.You point out all the flaws in other QMs, which are nothing to somnius only getting his quest popular by basing it in dbz, then driving off all his voters with retardation and defiling the dragonball universe.
>>30771212What can I say? I never claimed to be a great QM.
>>30771212>defiling the dragonball universe.Dude, it's a quest on /tg/ about an anime about people with tails, not some political cartoonist drawing Muhammad. You should probably not be this salty.
>>30776072Just realized no one archived it, so I did.Make sure to upvote it since it's the final thread and all.
>>30770934He kind of was. Only strong point he had was that he ran it every day around the same time of day.
>>30778562Christ, this is still on the board?I had time to sleep a full eight hours and rewrite the Epilogue already.
