You are Reinhold, master swordsman and victor of the Royal Swordsmanship Tournament. The King was so impressed with your skill, he personally requested that you be transferred out of the army and into the Royal Guard! Not bad for an orphan who was raised in a brothel in a poor fishing village.

The only issue at this point is your assignment... you've been charged to be the personal guard of the King's only daughter Marianne. While she is the vision of loveliness that you'd expect from a Princess, her personality is... well... she seems to have some issues.

You've talked to both Sylvie and Monique... and with that out of the way, you made your way over to Karel and Emilio.

Karel seems to have bounced back from her panicked state pretty well, but Emilio's still kind of freaking out on account of having just been in mortal peril. While trying to help Karel cheer him up, you were temporarily distracted by the sudden arrival of Reya, Mirakarias, Randolf and Gerhard.

>Congratulations, you are once again an unruly WOLF!
>Wolves are cool and powerful... and also rather dangerous.
>The Princess considers you to be her friend!
>But while wolves are really cool, they still don't count as people.

While you kind of want to find out what's going on with the situation outside, you figure that they'll probably call for you if there's anything that requires your direct involvement. As such, you turn back to Karel and Emilio once you make sure that the door's closed behind Gerhard and the others.

"That guy..." Emilio mumbles as he stares at Gerhard, "...he's your butler?"
"He's officially the 'acting librarian' back home," you reply.

While your first impulse was to relay the story that Melanie told you, that would probably only serve to make Emilio even more nervous.

"...so even the librarians in Granache are able to fight like that?" Emilio asks. "Now I understand why you guys don't need as large an army as we have here in Marconetti..."
"Well he's only the 'acting' librarian," you say, shrugging. "But I guess that was only a cover story since he apparently takes orders directly from Arnaud."
"So he's only here because Uncle Guillaume told him to?"
"Yeah, pretty much. I need to remember to thank him for that when I get back home."
"At least Marianne and the rest of you can actually trust the people that work in your castle..."

Just as it seems as if Emilio's about to fall back into his depression, Karel slaps him on the back.

"You can trust -me-, can't you?" Karel leans on his shoulder.
"Yeah..." Emilio sighs. "...but I still don't get why you're always worrying about me."
"It's because you're my best friend, stupid," Karel sighs. "So quit moping around, alright? When you get like this it makes everyone around you worried too."
"...sorry."

Seeing Karel try her best to cheer Emilio up reminds you of how Citrine would never leave you alone when you'd get into one of your moods back in the day... and then you remember that you got distracted from what you were about to say.

"If it helps any," you begin, "my sister would always tell me to focus on good memories when I was feeling down. I can tell you from experience that dwelling on your problems only makes you feel worse about them."
"Huh, that's pretty good advice," Karel says, nodding. "And you've got plenty of good memories, right?" she turns to Emilio.
"I guess..." Emilio mumbles.
"C'mon, what about your party? You enjoyed that, right?"
"For the most part, yeah..."
"I thought so. And what about all the cool stuff you got, too? I mean, I'd never have thought I'd get to see the original Fragment Blade in person!"
"Yeah, neither did I," he replies with a weak smile.

"Fragment Blade?" you ask.
"Yes, I received it as a birthday gift from Monique Gilbeault's family..." Emilio replies with a guilty expression.
"Who'd have thought he'd turn out to be such an asshole after giving such an awesome gift," Karel says, shaking her head.
"You said that it was an awesome gift, so I take it that it's an actual sword that was made through that spell..." you say.
"No, it's actually the sword that the spell's named after," Emilio says. "It's made from one of Prosegana's own claws that he formed into a sword for the Steel Knight to use against the evil dragon Arnsalgan."

Prosegana's who that book that Marianne lent you was about... though you haven't really gotten a chance to finish it thanks to how hectic things have been lately.

>[1/?]
>>
>>30768353
We had an emergency a few minutes ago, however now I have complete faith in our pushy girlfriend's plan to exterminate our enemies.

Now that my guard is down, this is the time for the Dragons dressed in armor made of Volker's bones to crash through the window and attack, killing all of our friends.
>>
>>30768431
>[2/2]

"So it's one of the Steel Dragon's claws...?" you ask.
"Originally, yeah," Karel nods. "You know about Prosegana but not the original Fragment Blade? You know who the Steel Knight is, right?"
"I think I remember Niklaus mentioning that he knew him..." you say, shrugging. "I'm still at the beginning of the book though, so anything past when Prosegana decided to turn into a dragon is kind of beyond me."
"...you know a guy who knows..." Karel mumbles, staring at you. "Man, Granache must be some kind of crazy place..."

And just as you're about to respond to her comment, you're once again alerted by the sound of the double doors opening... revealing two men who you've never seen before. Cautiously, you rest your hand on the pommel of your sword just in case.

And then both Karel and Emilio start walking right towards them.

Karel and Emilio's reaction seem to know these guys, but you don't... might as well tag along just in case. You quickly hurry to Emilio's other side and the three of you end up meeting up with these mystery guests not too far from the door.

It's kind of surprising how quickly these two walk.

"G... good afternoon, Sir Leopold! Sir Armin!" Emilio says with a nervous smile.
"And good afternoon to you, Prince," one of the two, a large man with short brown hair and a full beard says as he bows to Emilio.

Oh, so these two guys are knights.

"Sorry for missing your party but we just got into town..." the second, a thinner man with shaggy black hair and a face covered in stubble says.
"And look at you, Karel!" the larger man laughs. "I never would've thought that the little boy who I taught how to use a sword would actually end up as a Royal Bodyguard..."
"It's thanks to you that I got good enough to get this far, Mr. Leopold," Karel replies with an embarrassed smile. "...I guess it's -Sir- Leopold now, though..."

>[1/?]
>>
>>30769506

"C'mon, there's no need for formalities between us!" Sir Leopold laughs. "How's your mother doing, by the way?"
"Same as always, I guess," Karel replies.
"And who's this fellow with you?" he turns to you.
"This is Reinhold," Emilio replies. "He's Marianne's bodyguard."
"Oh, the guy who lost that big duel yesterday," Sir Armin says, snapping his fingers.
"H- he only lost through foul play!" Emilio says. "If it wasn't for Setsuranka..."
"Ah, pay him no mind," Sir Leopold says, patting you on the shoulder. "The Knight of Jade here is kind of lacking in social graces..." he glares at Armin.
"Anyways, we were summoned here by the King since we're the only two Knights who in the immediate area aside from Andreas," Sir Armin says, rolling his eyes.
"Let's not hold you up, then," Emilio says with a nervous laugh.

As the two knights head to the throne where Celestino, Thierri and the others are still talking, you follow Karel and Emilio back to the wall where they were standing before.

"Wasn't expecting to see Leopold here..." Karel says, not even trying to hide the smile on her face. "If the King's brought him here, then those bastards who attacked us will be dead for sure!"
"I hope so," Emilio says with a nervous laugh.
"So you know those two personally?" you ask. "You seemed to be pretty friendly with the big guy at least."
"Leopold's one of the guys who my Mom hired to teach me how to swordfight," she replies. "From when I was five up until I was nine... and then he got knighted so he had to quit."
"What about the other one?"
"That's Sir Armin Berntsen, the Knight of Jade," Emilio replies. "I think he got knighted around the same time as Andreas, but I don't really know him all that well personally."
"So are you feeling a little bit better now, Emilio?" Karel asks. "Now we've got three... well technically -four- of Marconetti's knights on this thing!"
"A little bit, I guess," he mumbles.

The two who just came in, Andreas... oh yeah, and Monique. Considering that Knights are handpicked by the King himself, it makes sense that they'd be called in for something like this.

"If you wanted to talk to Luciana, she's over there with Rana and the b-"

And then you notice it too. The sight of Luciana doing her best to keep her baby sister from falling out of her arms as the latter holds a handful of Rana's hair in a vicelike grip.

That REALLY looks like it hurts.

"Ow ow ow ow ow" Rana says through gritted teeth, her head at an unnatural angle in order to lessen the pain from having her hair pulled.
"Chiara!" Luciana shouts. "Let go of her hair right now!"
"Bauaaaaaaaaaa!" Chiara yells as she flails her arms wildly.
"Makes me glad I keep my hair short..." Karel says, wincing at the sight.
"Reya would you please get my hair out of her hands before I end up bald?"
"Y- yeah, right away!" Reya says with a nervous grimace.

Carefully, Reya pries Chiara's hands open and gently removes his sister's hair from the baby's grip... and then Chiara realizes what Reya's up to and starts flailing wildly.

"Chiara, cut it out!" Luciana yells, struggling to keep from dropping her baby sister as she squirms around in her arms...

...and slips right out from her grip.

Too far away to do anything to help, a horrible chill goes down your spine as you watch the baby fall... but it looks like Marianne anticipated this very thing, catching Chiara before she can hit the floor.

"Oh thank god," Luciana says, breathing a sigh of relief as Marianne rights the baby in her arms.
"You're a lot of trouble, you know that?" Marianne says, glaring at Chiara. "Bad baby," she taps her on the hand. "We don't pull on hair, that's not nice."

As Chiars starts crying, Rana rubs her head in pain.

"...yeah, I'm gonna go back to bothering Nico now," Rana says. "She might not be -as- cute as the bsby but at least she doesn't pull my freaking hair."
"Sorry about that," Luciana says, frowning. "She knows better than to pull on people's hair, I don't know why she thought it was okay all of a sudden."
"Babies do baby stuff, you don't need to apologize," she forces a smile. "Still though, I think I need a break from her for an hour or two."

"Um, is your hair going to be alright?" you ask.
"Yeah, it just hurts is all," Rana says with an exasperated laugh. "Kind of stupid that I can take getting stabbed in the arm just fine but a baby pulling on my hair hurts this much..."

While muttering to herself something about getting someone to "kiss it better," Rana heads back to where Nicolette, Melanie and Sylvie are.

"Oh, Reinhold!" Luciana says, finally noticing that you've been standing there for a good five minutes now. "And you brought Karel and Emilio?"
"I can go back if I'm in the way..." Emilio mumbles.
"Wha? No, I'm not complaining or anything, just surprised to see you actually coming around us of your own accord!"
"It's not really of my own a-" he glances at Karel. "Um, I guess it was just getting kind of lonely standing off in a corner," he says with a nervous laugh.

"Yes, well it's definitely lively in this part of the throne room," Luciana says, sighing. "I wish I was half as good with dealing with Chiara as Marianne and Elena are..."
"Elena's good with her too?" you ask, looking over to the side...

...and Elena's tickling the baby relentlessly while Marianne holds her in place. It's the most adorable punishment you've ever seen.

"Huh, I guess she is," you say, shrugging.
"Elena and Giancarlo are her favorite siblings," Emilio says. "Probably because they're the ones who most willing to act dumb with her."

It's surprisingly easy to imagine Giancarlo acting goofy with the baby, especially considering the way you've seen him act around everyone else who isn't Marianne.

"But that's enough talking about our ill-tempered sister," Luciana begins, "how are the three of you doing?"
"I'm still really scared," Emilio replies, "but I guess I'll be fine... at least I don't feel as bad thanks to Karel and Reinhold trying to cheer me up."
"You need a hug?" she asks.
"Wha-" Emilio says, his face turning red. "I'm not a little kid anymore, you don't need to-"
"What's wrong with big sister hugs?" you ask. "I'm older than you and Citrine hugs me every chance she gets."
"Man, I -wish- I had a big sister to hug me when I'm feeling crappy," Karel shrugs... and then her mouth curls into an evil grin. "Ohhh, I get it. It's not that you're against hugs, you're just worried about who might be looking..."

>>
>>30772743

Poor Emilio, Karel isn't letting up on him at all. You still can't deny that teasing him is fun, though.

"What, you think that Marianne has a problem with familial affection?" Luciana asks. "I'll have you know that when she's around King Thierri, she's every bit as bad as Elena is with our father..."
"What's that about my father?" Marianne asks as she walks over to where the rest of you are. "I do hope you're not gossiping about him, I very much doubt that Chiara's gotten her fill of hairpulling," she says, holding up the scowling baby.
"Don't even joke like that," Luciana says, shaking her head. "I was just asking how my dear little brother was holding up after what happened since I know that he's every bit as fragile as you are..."

While that's entirely true, you can't help but feel kind of bad for Emilio right now.

"Mar- er, Princess Marianne?" Karel says, clearing her throat. "Emilio here had something that he wanted to ask you..."
"Eh!?" he stares at her. "I didn't say-"
"What is it?" Marianne asks, tapping her foot impatiently.
"C'mon, spill it," Karel nudges him with her elbow.

Put on the spot like this, Emilio really doesn't have much choice but to speak up. Clearing his throat, he turns to Marianne (his gaze fixated on the floor to her side because he's seemingly unable to look her in the eye).

"Karel and I are going to maybe go to his mother's restaurant after this thing with the assassins and the guards blows over and I was maybe wondering if you'd like to come along maybe?" Emilio says in a single breath.
"...I'm not exactly in the mood to head out into the city after what we jut went through," Marianne replies. "Not to mention that we had planned on leaving for Granache tomorrow and I have yet to pack my things..."

The second those words leave Marianne's mouth, you see Emilio's shoulders droop lower and lower... it's as if he himself is shrinking. You're getting depressed just looking at him.

And it seems that Marianne's feeling the same way as you.

".........ugh," she sighs, "In the event that our fathers deal with this situation in a manner such that we're actually able to safely go outside before this restaurant closes, I -might- be willing to go there with you and Luciana. Okay?"

Realizing that this is the best that he's likely to ever get, Emilio slowly rises back to his usual posture.

"Y- yes, that's more than fair!" he says, repeatedly nodding his head.

Poor kid's got it bad.

"Now that that's out of the way," you say, "do you know how things are going with your father's plans to catch the rest of the assassins and, er... other types?"
"Yeah, I was wondering about that myself," Karel says, crossing her arms.
"Now that Prince Randolf and Princess Mirakarias are here and the two knights who he has called for are finally here, the actual preparation phase is in effect," Gerhard says.

Though you're kind of used to it by now, you hear Emilio whimper as he notices the librarian's sudden appearance.

"Ah, my apologies," Gerhard says, bowing, "I didn't mean to startle you."
"N- no," Emilio replies, forcing a smile, "it's okay."
"So Father is going to do what I suggested?" Luciana asks, ignoring her brother.
"That is what it seems," Gerhard nods. "He's just sent Sir Leopold out with an order to gather the Fourth and Fifth Divisions of the Royal Guard together in another room and await orders to move out into the city to track down the rest of the assassins."

So he's going with the exact plan that Luciana suggested, huh.

"...ah, there they go now," Gerhard says, pointing to Sir Leopold, who is making his way out of the throne room right now. "And while this is going on, I have volunteered to pick off the traitors from the Fifth Division myself."
"Are you sure that you'll be able to handle that on your own?" Marianne asks.
"Assassination is my original profession, Princess," he replies. "And I don't mean to brag, but I am -far- above the level of the men who we fought. Whoever is behind this scheme foolishly thought that numbers would make up for lack of quality."

Considering how easily Gerhard sneaks up on you without even trying, you very much doubt that he's exaggerating about his proficiency.

After Gerhard waves Elena, Andreas and Reya over, you all make our way for the head of the throne room where Thierri and the others are waiting. Once Celestino sees that all the stragglers from the other parts of the room are gathered, he clears his throat and begins speaking.

We're all friends here, so I see no need for formalities," Celestino says. "So I'll just skip to what's important- my four youngest children are in danger and whoever is behind this plot has shown no qualms about attacking anyone who gets in their way."

Yeah, you've definitely learned that firsthand.

"And to make matters worse, the castle has been infiltrated as well... though I'm currently taking steps to rectify this as we speak. Once I confirm the identities of the men who I'm sending out into the city to hunt down the rest of the assassins who attacked us earlier, it should be safe to move around in the castle, but please remain alert just in case," Celestino says. "And in order to assist in this endeavor, King Thierri here has graciously lent me one of his men..."
"I would like to volunteer as well," Takamaru says, speaking up for the first time since the fight in the audience hall.
"...Takamaru?" Luciana turns to him. "You don't need to-"
"It's in part due to my inability to track these men down earlier that the situation was able to get as bad as it has to begin with," Takamaru says, shaking his head. "This is the least I can do."
"In that case," Karel says, "I'll help out too... I owe these guys for trying to attack my mother."

"I know what you're thinking," Takamaru says, turning to you, "but you and Reinhold should stay here where it is safe," Takamaru says. "The two of you have already fought several opponents today, but I have yet to cast a single spell."

Come to think of it, Takamaru -was- right by Luciana's side for that entire fight while you were running around hacking assassins to bits.

"He's right," Sir Gregory says. "There's no sense in searching for a few fight when you've barely had time to recover from the one you were just in."
"...I guess you're right..." Karel mumbles.
"I have to thank you for your dedication, Takamaru," Celestino says. "Even though you're technically a mercenary, you've been more loyal than many of my own subjects," he sighs. "Anyways, I suppose this means that we'll have four people hunting down the traitors instead of just two- Sir Leopold, Sir Armin, Gerhard and Takamaru."

Yeah, it's kind of a toss-up as far as going out versus staying behind.

More people who're capable of easily going toe-to-toe with the average conspirator means the whole thing is over faster. Which means less people are likely to slip through the net.

At the same time, it's unreasonable to send EVERY capable combatant out in case the castle isn't actually as secure as we think it is. Which could easily be the case in the event that the Fifth Guard Captain thinks this whole joint Search and Destroy operation is fishy and decides to bail in favor of a last-ditch effort to complete the mission.

"So much for a relaxing final day of vacation before we head back," Thierri says, his overall demeanor much less energetic than you're used to seeing from him.
"Tell me about it," Sadaharu replies. "We'd planned on heading to a restaurant with our new friend here," he says, pointing to Matthias, "and his brother, but I guess that's a bust..."
"They didn't get to kill us, but they sure as hell killed our plans for the rest of the day."

While the two kings chat it up, Lisette walks up to Marianne.

"Thank you for babysitting," Lisette says as Chiara leaps into her arms.
"It was nothing," Marianne replies. "I don't really get to play with babies very often so..."
"That's right, I remember how much you used to fawn over Elena when she was a baby," she laughs.
"Elena was a lot better-behaved," Luciana says, sighing.
"Elena wasn't anywhere near as violent, but she did cry a lot more."
"I did not!" Elena pouts.

After some more teasing of her daughters, Lisette's expression turns serious.

"You three aren't too scared about what happened, are you?" she asks. "I know that you're not used to that kind of thing... not that children like you -should- be."
"I was scared at first but then Andreas cut up the bad guys just like you said Uncle Gregory does so I wasn't anymore," Elena says. "Can I keep him as my bodyguard forever? I don't wanna have to get someone new."

After about twenty minutes of shooting the breeze with everyone, Celestino and Sir Gregory return to the throne room.

"It's done," Celestino says. "Fifty-three guards and two Captains are on the ground while the others take care of things from the rooftops."
"When I asked him about them, the Fifth Division captain said that the missing men from his division must have been killed by the assassins," Sir Gregory says, "so I doubt they expect anything... for now at least."
"That's good to hear," Thierri replies. "So you're sure that they've all left the castle grounds?"
"Made sure with my own two eyes," he nods.

Great, so the castle should be free of enemies... hopefully.

"While it's still too dangerous to leave the castle itself," Celestino says, "you should all be safe inside. -Sir- Monique, if you'd mind accompanying Sadaharu and his family wherever they need to go, just in case?"
"As you wish, Your Majesty," Monique says with a deep bow.

While Sadaharu and his party make arrangements amongst themselves as to what to do next, Celestino turns to the rest of you.

"The same goes for the rest of you, though I'm sure you already understand," Celestino says. "Reyasarima, if either you or your sister could temporarily look after Luciana while her bodyguard is out, I'd greatly appreciate it."
"That won't be a problem at all, Your Majesty," Reya nods.
"I -would- ask one of you to accompany Randolf and Mirakarias as well, but I suppose that would be kind of pointless," he says with a tired laugh.

Yeah, since Mira's a dragon and all.

"As for the rest of you, feel free to carry on as you please while I take care of some more delicate matters," he sighs. "Alberto?"

Once Celestino and his sons leave, the rest of you head up to your respective rooms. Elena seems to be especially worried about her rabbit so she practically drags Andreas along with her, and Emilio is similarly insistent on heading to his own room to get some rest (not that you can blame him) so he and Karel also end up leaving your merry little band as well.

As for the rest of you, Thierri walks you Marianne back to the suite that you share with her. Not in any mood to be by herself right now, Luciana joins you along with Reya, who took the first shift in looking after her while Rana tags along with Nicolette and the others as they gather in Sir Gregory's suite.

"Umm, I'm sorry to impose like this," Reya says as he leans against the wall of your suite's living room section.
"Yes, this isn't exactly the manner in which I wanted to spend time with you," Luciana says, sighing as she leans back on the couch. "Holed up in here with nothing else to do..."
"It's not like either of you caused this," Marianne replies, "so stop apologizing for it. And I'm sure that Reinhold appreciates getting to be around another boy for a change... not to mention having his girlfriend here to stare longingly at as well when he gets tired of the male bonding."
"At least your sense of humor hasn't been affected by all of this," you say as you sit down next to Luciana.

While Reya laughs nervously in response to Marianne's comment, Luciana simply looks up at the ceiling.

"Sorry, but I'm not really in much of a joking mood right now," she replies with a long sigh.

>[1/?]
>>
>>30774565
>Luci wants to be in the killsquad herself
>>
>>30774580
And that is why she's a good fit for Reinhold. Sometimes a killer doesn't need someone to remind him of humanity, but someone who approaches the grisly death with the same taciturn cold.
>>
>>30774621

Sometimes I wonder how Sylvie would have handled Reinhold's shit. She's got a good heart and she's courageous in her own way, but goddamn she doesn't look ready for this.
>>
>>30774565

"Neither am I," Marianne replies. "But so much for my attempt to lighten the mood..."
"N- no, it's not like I'm angry with you or anything," Luciana replies, "It's just that... ugh, this entire situation. I wish I was as strong as Father so I could walk out into the middle of town and end this entire farce myself."
"Luciana, you're not going to-"
"No, I know that would be stupid," she says, shaking her head. "I'm just really pissed that most of my family and friends were attacked like that and now I'm stuck waiting until word comes in that it's safe instead of you know, going out there and taking the fight to them."
"Yeah, I understand how that can be frustrating," Reya nods. "Not much else you can do other than take your mind off of things though."
"I knowwwwwwww..." Luciana grumbles as she tilts over and leans on your shoulder. "I can't even enjoy the fact that I'm in a relationship that I actually -want- because of this garbage..."

Come to think of it, Nicolette probably feels the same way.

Oh god, Reinhold x Sylvie would be full niceness all the time. Baking cakes for their friends and giving magic and swording lessons to any kid who ask.
>>
>>30774664

"And you guys are leaving tomorrow and I have no idea when the next time I'll even be able to see either of you is..." Luciana mumbles.
"I'm just as annoyed by all of this as you are," Marianne says as she walks into her bedroom. "...minus the boyfriend part, anyways."
"What are you doing in there, anyways?" Luciana asks, moving off of you in order to look behind her.
"I figured that I'd might as well start packing," she replies. "It's not like I can really do much of anything else right now, and we -are- leaving tomorrow."

Huh, that's a pretty good idea.

"That's right, your luggage..." Luciana mumbles. "Wouldn't it be a good idea for you to start on that too, Reinhold?"
"Nah, I'll hold off until later tonight," you reply. "I didn't bring much so it shouldn't take me more than fifteen minutes or so to do, anyways."
"Oh yeah, guys usually don't pack much... kind of makes me wonder how much that butler of yours brought with him."
"I wouldn't know," you reply. "Hell, I don't even know how he got all the way up here on his own to begin with, he didn't ride with us."

The idea of him running the entire way is almost comical... though knowing Gerhard, he could probably do just that.

"Well, however he made it up here to Marconetti, I'm glad that he did," Luciana says, leaning back once again. "It's thanks to him that the spy I sent out was able to come back here in one piece... not to mention everything else that he did."
"Yeah," you nod. "Not to mention him showing up just as Karel killed that guard who was trying to grab his mother and cleaning the place up before anyone noticed..."

...and then you remember that she's probably still holed up in her room, waiting for word that it's safe to come out. And Citrine and Marius are in the exact same boat...

"Aw crap..." you mutter under your breath. "...I'll be back soon, I need to go and tell my sister and her husband that the castle's safe again. Mostly safe, anyways."

Mostly because I'd like to find some time to do >>30775018

It's possible that we could just ask them to give us some privacy, but it's obviously way easier to do if we're solo.

...That said, Luciana knows the layout of the place, and if we end up taking an unannounced detour, it might keep us long enough that they'll start to worry that something's actually happened.

Really, both options work out just about the same; it's just a matter of fluff. And Citrine would probably do a pretty good job of helping keep Marie's morale up, since that's more or less the thing she's best at. Whether that's managed by taking her along with us to let them know it's safe, or seeing if we can bring Citrine and Marius back with us is mostly irrelevant.

One of Vincent's daughters was a blatant yaoi fangirl. Spent half her screentime shipping the male npcs and ara ara-ing.
>>
>>30775166

Sylvie's youngest sister is a yaoi fangirl.

>>30775062 is suggesting that her forcefully kissing Bernard will lead to an apocalyptic magic showdown between her father (Vincent) and his mother (Ariane).
>>
>>30775166
The girl that kissed that kid that has a thing for marianne is likely a yaoi fangirl.
>>
>>30775182

Oh... OH!

>>
>>30775192

That was his brother, not the one that likes Mari. Vincent's tsun daughter likes the boy that likes Mari.
>>
>>30775210
Ummm, the Tsundere likes the one that likes Sylvie.

>>

Guillaume is after Sylvie, and Valerie is tsun for him.
Bernard is after Marie and Racquel (the yaoi fangirl) kissed him.

There's no good time to bring it up, really; we don't even know if Karel actually knows her father's identity. All we know is that her father doesn't even know she exists. Hell, for all we know, Alicia HERSELF doesn't even know who the guy actually was; just that he was giant and hot and sword, and we'd be revealing something totally unexpected and out of left field.

And if not, we've never actually mentioned Adrien around Karel or Alicia, so they've got no reason to suspect that we even knew who he was. They know we knew Volker, but we don't necessarily know if it's widespread knowledge that Volker and Adrien were close.

If we're right about Karel's parentage, that means not only do we get to explain some of what became of Adrien some time after he left, but also that we have a vested interest in finding out what became of him.

And given that we're pretty sure Adrien was a noble of some sort, it goes a long way toward legitimizing Karel's standing so that she can eventually bring herself to admit her feelings and stop pushing Emilio toward Marianne constantly as a way of coping. Maybe. That sort of thing wouldn't exactly end up surprising me.

That said, this is the kind of deeply intertwined subplot that tends to only get resolved during the girl's route itself, but it's got enough wider relevance and brings a bit of closure to our backstory that it's not unjustifiable.

>>30775237
>HEALING
wheeeeeeee
>>
>>30775389

She knows.

>"Hey, it's not like you caused this," Karel replies, blushing slightly as she hugs her mother back. "And I -wanted- to enter to begin with, so don't blame yourself for that. But we really should get going already... we can play the blame game some other time. Okay?"
>"Times like this, you remind me of y-"

Now, who could she be talking about? Her father.

>"...you're just like Mom said -he- was... up and deciding shit like that on your own..." she mutters under her breath.

Here, Karel is obviously talking about Volker. ergo she knows the fabulous duo.
>>
>>30775389

Another important thing about Adrien is that he's the only person in the world who could confirm that Volker did intend to adopt Reinhold and Citrine.

>>
>>30775476
>>30775516
All salient points.

Except for archelon's foreshadowy response to that one guy, which is obviously relevant, but not exactly actionable in and of itself.

Also, forgetting about relevant shit that recent is further evidence that speculation made while on zero sleep will rarely be even close to as accurate as you think you're being.
>>
>>30775389
Couldn't we just go and see Alicia next thread and ask her for the guys name?
It won't take long, it'll stop speculation and we may even get a clue as to his whereabouts.
>>
>>30778593
Well, there is the planned lunch or dinner (i dont remember which) at her restaurant so we can have a minute a lone with her and ask her then.
>>
>>30780248
I think it would be better to do it now when we actually may have a minute alone with her without acting really suspicious.
>>
>>30780750
Not to mention that there's no guarantee that we'll even be able to go to her restaurant as planned, what with the manhunt going on and all.
