You are John James Green, mutant vagrant.

You’re wearing a dead man’s clothes. They’re a size too large, designed for someone with arms like treetrunks, but they’re better than nothing. True to your word, you carried Barracuda as far as he needed to go – which, it turns out, was to a suspiciously nondescript van parked on the road opposite the plant.

That’s where you were, by the way. A smelting plant. For some reason.

The driver eyes you with alarm, reaching for something tucked away under his shirt, before Barracuda tells him to “Stow that shit, fool”. Hunkering into the back of the vehicle, he treats you to one last grin, and reminds you that, in spite of the short-lived arrangement you had going there, you should get your pasty white ass outta town as soon as possible.

Oh, and he also wishes you a Merry Christmas.

What?

You linger out there in the cold, soaking in the night. The riverfront murmurs nearby. Beside you, Laura glows with warmth, her blood lacing the air, like perfume. You really do have no idea why you’re here, or how. When you try to think about it, that final uncoiling moment of transcendent ecstasy comes to you, and you vividly recall the sensation of boiling through your own skin.

You turn to Laura.

“…Why am I here?”

She looks up at you, eyes gleaming in the dark. She seems to consider for a moment, before finally opening her mouth:

“I don’t know.”

Okay. Okay then. You shiver, wishing that that dead gangster guy had been born the good sense to wear something a little more thermally binding. The snow glimmers through the night around you and you can’t help but feel momentarily out of time, in some far-removed, frozen place. The old industrial buildings all around are silent, and streets are all but empty, and then there’s you, standing at the centre of all this, unsure of where you are or how you came to be there, knowing only that life must be continuing somewhere elsewhere, without you.

“What’s going on?”

She breathes in deeply, her eyes staying on you.

“You…” She pauses. You feel the breath still in her chest. “…were inside that cocoon. You emerged with the man from the Facility.”

…Joseph?

“…Do you not recall anything of this?”

You shake your head.

She watches you in silence, as if scrutinizing your expression, before turning away.

“Come.”

You follow after her, conceding to the strangeness of the situation. There is one more thing you want to know, though.

“Why did he just do that?” You ask. Laura glances back at you questioningly, and you quickly add: “The Merry Christmas thing?”

She blinks a little uncertainty, and fixes her gaze ahead.

“You’ve been missing for a week. It is Christmas Day.”

>[X] Go home.

Your stomach growls as you move through the snow-swept streets of New York.

Christmas? Christmas Day? That means you’ve been gone for… you count under your breath… just a little over a week! You’ve lost a week of your life! Were you in that cocoon thing the whole time? Where else could you have been? What… what even happened when that singular, euphoric moment took you, when the work seemed to drag you out of your borders? You find yourself quietly panicking, the thistles of rough flesh upon your arm now more apparent to you than ever.

“Are you alright?”

Laura’s voice pierces the fugue, her stare angled back over her shoulder at you. You collect yourself, planting your feet back into the here & now.

“Y-yeah, I’ll be fine…” You swallow. Sure, you’ll be fine. “I’m just a little… surprised.”

As you make your way through the falling snow, Laura explains the events of last week from her perspective. Apparently, you seemed to burn up from the inside-out, a storm of searing light tearing through you. The force of the blast took the building down on top of everyone, and by the time she’d freed herself from the debris there was no sign of your or Typhon.

Wait a minute. Noriko was there that night.

“What happened to Noriko?” You ask, dreading the answer. “Is she alright?”

“She sustained minor burns. Nothing life-threatening.” Laura pauses, glancing back at you again, and adds: “She will, most likely, be scarred for the rest of her natural life. But she is very much alive.”

“Christ…” You knead your fingers along your brow, trying to… put this all in place. “What about the guy, uh, the guy in the snow mask?”

“Peter.” Laura states bluntly. “He’s fine.”

“…Seriously?”

She nods.

Damn. Peter has better moves than you gave him credit for.

You find yourself clinging to familiar things, the world seeming to slowly gain definition – gain realness – as you pass by more and more places you recognize. The closer you get to home, the closer you feel yourself coming to accepting that the events flowing by you are real, that this is not simply some illusion brought on by death or worse.

“What, uh…. What about you?”

Laura glances back, not seeming to quite follow you.

“What’ve you been up to?”

So, she tells you about the Tabbycat job (urk, you guess you screwed that all the way up), the gang war, the slow migration of refugees from the populated streets of NY to the scar. You listen in numb, disbelieving quiet, the night seeming to snatch all meaning from any of this. It’s all just so… ridiculous.

>[X] Ask her more about the mutants entering the scar.

“We think it started shortly before your disappearance.” Laura explains, her eyes narrowing in recollection. “None of us noticed until somewhat later, but there must be a large number of mutants spread out through the Exclusion Zone.”

Exclusion Zone. For a moment, it doesn’t mean anything to you, before you realize that that would be the official name for the huge, desolate tract of land you’ve come to refer to as the scar. ‘Exclusion Zone’. Sounds… weird. Not quite right, somehow.

“If I were to estimate a figure, it would be somewhere in the triple digits.”

You almost trip up over yourself. That many!?
>>
>(2/2)

Laura goes on to explain that most of the mutants have settled in small groups. For the most part, they keep to themselves, but a few of them have been vaguely confrontational. Your heart sinks a little when you learn that the Hellions have managed to recruit at least two further members. Apparently, greaser-out-of-time Julian has been asserting that someone – and, of course, that someone is him – should be ‘in charge’ somehow.

You can’t help but snort derisively. In charge of what, exactly? A kingdom of lepers? You’ll readily admit to some stints of self-delusion over the course of your career as a professional down-an’-out, but you’ve never had the gall to fancy yourself as any kind of mutant Clopin.

According to Laura, there are two primary groups with which the Hellions have nearly come to blows – the ‘Corsair’s and the ‘Young X-Men’. No relation to the actual X-Men, apparently.

Eventually you make your past the borders of the scar. The change is immediately apparent – not too far from the station you call home, there’s a fire burning amidst the debris of some broken apartment complex. You’re vaguely reminded of early man, homo stupidus notools, desperately eking out an existence of haggard desperation across the lengths of some ancient tundra.

You descend into the station in silence, unsure of what you could be walking into.

As it happens, you walk into a bunch of snoring mutant kids. Everyone’s asleep, wrapped up in heavy blankets and clustered together along the floor of the platform.

>>
>[X] Just eat.
>[X] Let them sleep, it’s Christmas.

“Better no wake them.” You note. Laura regards you, a questioning look in your eye, and you shrug. “It’s Christmas. They’re not getting anything in the morning, so they might as well get a good night’s rest.”

That’s been your Christmas mantra for the better part of the last four years. Christmas is the day everyone takes it easy. The day of not thinking about anything and just drifting. You get a good bit of sleep on the night before and wake up refreshed and early, ready to spend the day pretending it’s not Christmas.

You root through the collection of plastic bags they’ve left at the base of the stairs, searching for something edible. You’re too tired to cook, but there’s ham and bread, and you’re certainly not too tired to shove that’s stuff down your throat. You eat without tasting, your mouth working with automated, monotonous vigour. You can feel the world gently closing around you, your eyelids fluttering, leaving blurry shadows in the corners of your vision. You’d think that a whole week spent just… you’re not even sure, just floating?... around in some giant cocoon would freshen a man up a bit, but you’re tired as hell.

Warm down here. Warm-ish.

Slowly, you feel yourself drifting toward sleep, the image of the waking world gradually thinning into mist and smoke. Laura’s warmth nestles in close, spreading through your shoulder, loosening you grip on the universe. You close your eyes, and the last thing you’re aware of before slumber takes you is the sound of your heart beating beside hers.

Yours is moving a little too slow, isn’t it?

Would be pretty fucking hilarious if JJ became some kind of a messianic figure while he was out.
I mean, he saved the vast majority of them and the newspaper kept writing his praise. Then he immediately disappeared giving people time to make up grander and grander stories about him.

Our group simply missed all this because they don't interact much with others.

Hgurf. Gfgg.

You feel yourself sway under the breeze, your flesh twisting and contorting. Oh, God, the wind, it’s –

Someone’s shaking you awake.

You open your eyes, and are welcomed into the world of the awake by a close-up of Layla’s huge, teary grin. For a moment you just sputter and flounder, before the events of the night before catch up with you, and you feel yourself slipping back into reality.

Reality is heavier than it looks. The moment your eyes open, Layla throws herself at you, wrapping her arms around your shoulders. A little winded and somewhat weirded out, you slump back onto the stairs, and glance up at the assembled figures before you.

Well, they’re surprised. Judging from the sleep infesting their eyes, they just woke up, and there you were. Lucas looks vaguely apprehensive, maybe, as though he’s seeing a mirage or a ghost, his eyes wide in shock. Gaby and Kevin are just staring, open-mouthed, while beside them Noriko rubs her eyes and blinks slowly.

“You came back!” You can feel tears spreading through your stolen sweater. Layla can’t seem to decide whether she’s laughing or sobbing.

“Y-yeah….”

“Can’t get rid of me that easy.” You chuckle it out, resting your arms over Layla’s shoulders. You’re a little surprised when she doesn’t look up or let go, but decide to just go with it. Apparently she missed you, or something.

You vanished and people actually missed you. That takes a moment to process. A small part of you is still somewhat surprised that everyone didn’t just… flitter way. That any of them gave you more than a passing thought as they got on with the rest of their lives. If, a week ago, you’d been asked what this situation would look like, you’d be describing a Layla sheepishly re-entering the grind of the foster system, a Laura skipping town, a Noriko and a Lucas and Gaby and a Kevin just… tumbling off into the future without you. You wouldn’t have described this.

“Dude.” Kevin grins weakly. “I’d totally hug you too, if, y’know…”

“Yeah.” You know. If it wouldn’t totally kill the shit out of you.

You glance around the platform, soaking the place back in.

“You guys look…” What do you say here? Great? Chirpy? Alive? “…like you’ve been taking care of yourselves. I've been in a cocoon.”

That gets you some puzzled stares.

>[X] Apologize to Noriko about her arm.
>[X] “So, I hear we have neighbours.”

You just talk about things for a while. Just little things. You slowly feel yourself acclimating yourself back into the dialect of things, the anxiousness and the tension of your first moments of wakefulness wearing off. Lucas puts on the stove and you wish one another a Merry Christmas. Layla tells you that Peter’s friends eventually tracked down that kid from the boat’s parents – apparently his name was Steve Somethingorother. Kevin makes a brief show of disintegrating one of iron rebars you notice lying around, something that would’ve been impossible for him before.

As you sit beside the stove, inhaling the gentle touch of the herbs bubbling in the pot, you finally excavate the courage to broach the subject of Noriko’s arm.

“Hey… I’m sorry, you know?” You nod at her arm. “About that. I mean, you were just trying to help an’ all…”

It doesn’t look great. The tank-top Noriko wears does little to hide that her right arm is almost entirely draped in light, rippling scar tissue.

“It’s okay…” She glances down at it, grimacing sadly, but eventually she just shrugs. “I’m alive.”

And that’s that. She doesn’t seem to want to say any more on the subject, and you’re not going to prod her any further about it. Instead, you change the subject.

“So, I hear we have neighbours now?”

The glance over at one another. Eventually, Gaby speaks up:

“Y-yes, that’s right…”

“They okay?”

She considers the question for a moment, one of her long, pointed canines resting on her lower lip.

“…Well, mostly. I mean, they are fine enough, most just keep to themselves…”

“What about these ‘Corsairs’ guys? I mean…” You shrug a little lamely. “That’s not exactly a name that instils a great deal of confidence.”

This time Kevin pitches in.

“Right, yeah… them.” He scratches his head. “They’re further east, I think. Nobody really sees much of them. They’ve been doing a lot – and I mean, I mean a lot, here – of stealing. One of the other guys told me that’s how they stay fed, they just break into places near the scar and take everything not nailed down. A few peeps've even been buying stuff from them.”

“Basically, they’re trouble.” States Noriko, her tone far less diplomatic. “The papers are already calling the surge of people like us a ‘plague’. If someone figures out that we’re stealing people’s shit…”

Kevin waves her down a bit, smiling weakly.

“Y-yeah, I agree, but, like, I’m sure you get their situation…”

Well, you do. You definitely understand having to steal to survive. Of course, Noriko has a point. A single mutie cleaning out registers in his spare time is one thing. A whole gang of them – that’s something else entirely.

“What about the…” You can’t help but cringe. “…Young X-Men?”

Lucas looks up from the stove, clearing his throat.

“They’re okay. They live some way south of here. We’ve run into ‘em a few times, just hanging around the place.” He rubs his nose and sniffs at the meal, before motioning for someone to pass him the plates. “Basically, some girl called Hisako got ‘em together, and they say they’re gonna protect everyone. That’s all we know, really.”

Here's how we undercut the Corsairs' black market and establish good will between our clique and the rest of the scar.

FLORAL AFFINITY
Requires: Level 2 Animal Affinity, Level 2 Photosynthetic Biology
Cost: 1
JJ may speak to and get responses from plants. Their perspective is difficult to understand, but can offer a certain amount of insight.

GREEN FINGER
Requires: Floral Affinity
Cost: 1
JJ may coax plants to grow in unnatural ways or with unheard of speed. For example, he could make seeds sprout into fully grown plants in a matter of hours, convince weeds to limit their grown or kill themselves, or redirect and accelerate the growth of a tangle of creepers. With additional practice he could make certain crops exceptionally nourishing or control their exact nutritional contents.

and just give em out for free. naturally we keep some for ourselves.

>[X] Whatever, you’ll figure them out later. You need to check up on Peter.

You eat slowly, considering, for a moment, the future of the scar.

You wonder if anyone knows just how many mutants escaped from that accursed ship, and just how many of them are even on the streets anymore. Whole load of ‘em must’ve been scooped up right off the bat by Mutant Control, either deported or sent to stew in one of the camps. In a way, you’re a little bit glad that the muties seem to be forming little gangs of their own, rather than throwing in with Creeper and whoever else is fighting over this turf. But more mutants will definitely make the scar more visible.

You don’t like being visible. Hell, not being visible is your whole thing.

“Well… we’ll have to talk to these people eventually.” You conclude, setting your plate aside. “For now, I need to go check up on Peter.”

“Peter Parker?” Layla asks, bobbing up enthusiastically. She grabs you sleeve. “I’m coming!”

Uh… right.

Mind posting the levels of sonic scream or the pastebin?
>>
>>30877900
http://pastebin.com/JYrcDPPk

SONIC SCREAM
JJ develops the ability to emit waves of sonic force from his vocals.
Level 1: At this level, JJ may project a high-pitched beam that causes sudden and acute irritation to nearby listeners, and can strike objects with roughly the force of an expert jab.
Level 2: At this level, the soundwave may be widened to a meter, and strikes hard enough to easily knock normal humans off their feet. It can be emitted as a high-pitched variant that causes intense pain and, eventually, temporary deafness.
Level 3: JJ may now modulate the frequency of his scream, allowing it to displace objects by vibrating them at the right frequency. This makes the power ideal for dismantling machinery, and can cause deep tissue damage to humans.
Level 4: At this level, JJ may widen the soundwave to a two meter spread, and can generate a pulse-variation in its frequency, allowing it to pass through some objects without causing damage while harming others. Alternatively, he may project it as a nearly-solid barrage of displaced air, which can seriously damage even hardy constructs.
Level 5: At this level, JJ may precisely target the shatterpoints of objects, allowing him to selectively damage different parts of a system without disrupting the rest of it. With enough effort he may generate powerful enough vibrations to cause local seismic activity.
>>
>>30877878
The question is whether we run out of breath or give her the opportunity to escape first...
>>
>>30877917
Huh, that's better than I remembered.
>>
>>30877877
lvl 2 causes deep muscle damage. The brain and internal organs could be effected. Again I'm not talking about one hit killing her. I'm talking about standing there and spamming it until JJ damages his vocal chords.
>>
>>30877893
eventually, they'll put 2 and 2 together and realize the ship muties are hiding out in the scar, regardless of the power we chose.

>>30877917
I think JJ would to have lv4 for it to kill her with sonics.
>>

Shame the DB won.
Still, if the DB proves to be completely useless ability, it might atrophy.
Then again that needs for it to go unused for a long time and it would require a large support for getting rid of it and Crusty's approval.

>You said you were going to think about whether DB could cook Kimura at level 5. Have you made up your mind?

It can. But it would take ages, too long to be used in a fight where she has any kind of mobility

>Would sonic level 2 have been able to kill Kimura?

Level 3 could.
>>
>>30877919
Crusty has confirmed that out of all of the ranged powers we could have picked from DB was the least effective against Kimura. We would need lvl 5 to even have a chance at killing her. And even then she would need to be restrained. Because she could just walk away when she realizes she's being injured.
>>
>>30878009

>>
>>30878009
>>30878054
Kimura can survive a Hulk punch. Not necessarily a WWHulk punch, but a normal Hulk punch, certainly. She has no way of hurting him in return, of course, whereas he could throw her across several states.
>>
The five rules of power atrophy?

1) It must go unused for some time. Powers that JJ's uses regularly are not eligible for atrophy.

2) A significant portion of the player expresses a desire for it to atrophy. Don't feel obligated to use a power in fear we might lose it. We could go 10 threads without using super strength, it wouldn't atrophy unless people expressed a desire for it to. One person complaining about JJ being too strong will not cause us to lose enhanced strength. It needs to be a significant portion of the player base.

3) High level powers atrophy one level at a time. When we lose a level we only regain the points we spent on the most recent level.

4) We can buy back that same power. If we lose enhanced strength we could just buy it back the same thread we lost it. Like nothing ever happened.

5) Crusty is the final say. We do not vote on whether or not we lose a power. It happens at the end of a thread like earning x-points.

Instead they have the Sofiya clones, which are meant for general use rather than anti-X-33 function.
>>
>>30878165

We could
This would of course require us to get wings lvl 3 and maybe some photosynthetic abilities so we don't run out of breath when we fly her over the mariana trench and drop her off.
>>
>>30878182
If we get photosynthesis up to self sustaining level we could theoretically survive without breathing, underwater, so long as we are in sunlight.

I still think Druid package is the way to go for utilities.

1.)help stop the Scar's blackmarket and discourage theft, thereby helplower anti mutant reprisal.
2.)help the Scar become self sufficient
3.)build good will between JJ's group and the other ones
4.)those that grow the food have quite the say.

Somewhere that doesn't have Creeper or the Facility coming on our ass.
>>
>>30879092
For some reason I totally didn't register those other questions. How odd.

The criminals got bailed out by Kingpin's connections.

Victoria could take the elf D or leave the elf D. She recognizes that, while fun, her relationship with JJ possibly wasn't very healthy for either of them.
>>
>>30879250
>Somewhere that doesn't have Creeper or the Facility coming on our ass.

I meant more like them coming after our ass, not that unintentional sexual pun.
>>
>>30879167
The Druid package is great in a lot of situations, not just for food. Entanglement is such an underappreciated status. Rats, mosquitos and plants are some of the better spies out there. We could direct a murder of crows to steal or harass someone as a distraction.
>>
>>30879285

I just don't see those powers as being particularly good for our Stealth build.

I'd rather we build up Agility, Adhesive Touch, maybe Wings.
>>
>>30879221
Depends on the surroundings. Just being near JJ will help them survive if it's somewhere they'd normally not be able to grow at all, but if the area is very very inhospitable, he'd have to attend to them from time to time.

Say... once every few days.

I dunno anon. I'm not against DB but a lot of folks want to do some agility 2, adhesive2, wings 2, for better flying. Then there the Druid utilities. Add on top the assblasted Sonic dudes that have said to actively sabotage its use/growth/development. I fear for that little power sometimes.

>>30879269
We got the facility attention for taking in Laura and Kimura's ire since thread 6
we got Creeper's attention since we took in Kevin and Noriko and got his ire for the ship incident. The Sentinels have skipping state lines right out and we don't have a lotta dosh to fund skipping town.

We've never been completely safe and we probably never will.

>>30879326
how decent is the Scar for growing crops? soil? any place where winter and snow isn't too stifling to potential growth
>>
>>30879320
I agree for the most part
Here's my list of priorities
1. Agility lvl 2
2. Electrostatic touch to lvl 2 or 3
3. MYSTERIES OF THE DRUIDS
>>
>>30879402
Get a plant to grow down to the sewer line and we can probably mitigate allot of the soil problems. Would still need a starting plot though.

1.) Agility 2 or Adhesive Touch 2
2.) Whichever one doesn't make #1
3.) Photosynthetic Biology 1 (And just that power)
>>

There are always animals about, and plants can be carried as a simple bag of seeds.

True, but were ever we go, if we can make food grow very fast, we will always have people willing to side with us, and it will always help us feed others around us (like Laura if needs be).

she mitigates electricity, blunt force trauma heat, slashing. JJ alone can't kill her. best avoid unless we have the numbers game on ourside.

Agility is a solid investment , upgraded wings will make great solar panels and you don't have to twist my arm to get either one(Pete's speed gave her quite the hassle IIRC and JJ wanted flight since he was a kid) but I want to establish solid relationships with our Scar neighbors and being able to give out food is good way to make friends.

>>

>>30879788
Mitigates it, yes, but she's not immune to it and out of all our current powers, Electrostatic touch is the only one that's effective.
Hell, even if we only knock her out cold, we just need to drown her while she's out.

Or if we wanted to go through a horrifyingly evil route, we get the green finger thingy and grow a tree inside her.
Don't ask me how to accomplish getting seeds in her mouth, but it's probably the most dickish move we could do.
>>
>>30879962
>That's why you carry them in flasks and write "HEALING POTION" on them.

I just don't want to overspecialize in one aspect. "Stealth Build" isn't a good argument for not taking Druid route. Hell! Animal affinity actually compliments the stealth archetype if anything. >>
>>30880246
Honestly, Laura and everyone else's encouragement is the only way we'll beat our phobia. We don't have to use DB for this (we don't even know we have it). First, focus on the phobia as the phobia.

I wish I hadn't spoken up about this. I liked Sonics more (and I like it's shiny addons more, which means nothing in the scheme of things), I can learn to live with DB. >>30879888
There's an extrapolative called Shadow Field. It's not quite invisibility, but it lets us keep up a stealth field.
Basically semi-Creeper.

Also, note to those pushing healing vitae - healing 2 accelerates healing x20, but it doesn't let you heal things beyond human ability - there will be no regrowing of limbs or organs, if you had that impression, and the duration of vitae's effects is fairly short.
Vitae costs 3 points.
Maybe it'd be viable if we weren't capped at healing 3, meaning vitae caps at 2, but as it is? Not that effective.

>>30880412
Actually, on Kimura, I had a thought; am I right in thinking her durability is focused on her skin?
Because if so, how effective would dragonbreath directly down the throat be?
>>
>>30880384

He wants to be helped, not made to drink blood.

>>30880467

I don't like the idea of JJ becoming a druid, nor do I like the fact that it takes about 8 to 11 X-Points to go to, especially when we other powers already to spend them on.
>>
Imagine
>Mystery of druids + high lvl Electrotouch
>Live in a mutant commune where there's no lack of food thanks to the ecosystem being tuned to support habitation.
>The entire area is guarded by animals that inhabit the place
>The living areas are 100% powered by bioelectricity provided by Noriko and JJ.
>strange "health potions" cure most illnesses.
Praise be to Raptor Jesus
>>
>>30880295
>Then you'll be known as the asshole who doesn't help people who don't drink his creepy ass blood.

No we won't, anyone who would spread those rumors would be dead.
>>
>>30880495
Her weaknesses are psychics and speed as far as I can see. DB down her throat could work, but so could a lot of things. We have to consider that she WILL ambush us and start torturing our friends and us because it hurts Laura, because she's nothing without Laura to torment.
>>
>>30880412
Sonic would have been able to kill Kimura with less X-points. In one of the first threads she showed up in we were talking about how to kill her. I'm pretty sure Crusty told us it would take lvl 4 electrostatic touch to kill her.

But what ever happens we need a power that can take her out.
>>
>>30880529
>anyone who would spread those rumors would be dead.

Why?

>>30880513
>especially when we other powers already to spend them on.

I meant upgrades by that. My bad.
>>
>>30880570

>>
>>30880579
>...because they had fatal wounds and refused the health potion?

His friends would find out somehow. Maybe someone would have been watching, expecting us to help but only to turn away.
>>
>>30880467
fucking love the idea of druid JJ with wings we can hopeful adsorb enough sunlight to grow forests in our shadow as we fly around.
>>
>>30880561
>Sonics
We don't have it an atrophy is a nest of bitching and flaming.
>Electrostatic Touch
Possible, but will also require more enhanced agility. It'll be expensive. :/
>Diplomacy
Will require RP and fits better with JJ.

Some combination of all of this will be needed, I think.
>>
>>30880467
It's not just fruits and veggies man.
We can start up an entire ecosystem in there.

This means we'll be able to get meat as soon as we have a rabbit population in there, because rabbits breed like hell.
We'll also gain protection by attracting carnivores that eat rabbits.
All these animals will of course produce a lot of shit, which will all go to feed the plants.

It's the circle of life.
>>
>>30880495
shadow field, autonomic sequencing (and its successor)
=invisible kung fu man.
>>
>>30880614
Which, if not kept under wraps, is possibly something else that could cause a purge. :/

Basically, we need to keep power use on the down-low.
>>
>>30880644
Which isn't to say I don't think it's cool, we just need to be careful. We can probably spend all day talking about comics that have one mutant who unites everyone else into a commune, and how it all falls apart.
>>
>>30880597
Then they would have watched JJ offer to help and be refused.
I think vitae sucks too - see >>30880495 for further details - but you're not exactly being reasonable here.

One thing I can say, that makes HMQ more enjoyable than others.

At least there aren't any awful trips in this one.

The only annoying ones are the anonymous embittered factions.
>>
>>30880614
its beautiful hell our fire breath can be used for slash and burn farming too not to mention our strength and regeneration based endurance, means we will be amazing at this we could literally go anywhere to hide and keep every one feed.
>>
>>30880606
I do believe having electrostatic touch would be worth it, despite the cost.
There's very little that's capable of resisting
1. Thunderbolt
2. Fire
3. Rending claws with super strenght backing them

Basically, the way I'd prefer to see our combat strenght divided is somewhere along the lines of this.
ET: lvl 4
Claws: lvl 2
DB: lvl 2 or 3

DB makes the guys that aren't wearing fireproof armor run like hell or die.
ET makes the guys that aren't wearing highly insulated armor dead.
Claws + Str tears off armor from guys who are wearing it and if they're some guys that can absorb energy attacks, this will wreck them. After all, lvl 2 claws are steel cutters. We could technically dig our way through walls with them with our str.
>>
>>30880849
>DB makes the guys that aren't wearing fireproof armor run like hell or die.

Like JJ!
>>
>>30880753
That's what I think is best too. Ally with the New X-men, make sure the Corsairs stop being so blatant, that sort of thing.

>>30880796
We most likely can use Green Finger at that point to make farming efficient.

DB would most likely be useful for making fire and using heat to make unusual things (metallurgy and so on).

>>30880849
I'd say we should add one level at most to each one and consider where that leaves us for the forseeable future. Wings is cool for JJ, Enhanced Agility would give us combat and non-combat abilities. Mystery of the Druids seems to have a following.

Wishlisting: Sonics would give us decent stealth-based attacks, the possibility of stealthier flight, sonic tracking, and would do respectable damage at higher levels that ignores armour (or even human shields!). But that's the future and we'll see what happens.

>>30880891
If we go the DB-route, our sub-dermal armour could help with that...maybe. But yeah, Anon, DB wont be usable for a few threads.
>>
>>30880891
Very long term plan
The DB is on very low priority of powers.
Claws 2 + Electrostatic touch 4 are by far my priority, because in 1v1, they're very powerful combination against most opponents.
I'm regarding DB as an AoE attack and a terror weapon.

This is of course only regarding offensive powers. I'm still voting for agi 2 first.
>>
>>30881002
>I'm still voting for agi 2 first.

I'm going either Agility 2 or Adhesive Touch 2
>>
>>30880983
Wasn't clear enough here with points for powers when I suggested +1 point to all. With the lawlrandom nature of our voting, I think +1 to each ability would be about all we can do. Then there's enhanced senses and invis. There's combo powers.

We are a kid in a candy store.
>>
>>30881011
I'd agree with you on that, Anon. Agility is probably the bigger one, but Adhesive would be useful too, as long as we don't have a massive tug-a-war on power voting.
>>
>>30880983
Hey, I'm a sonic supporter myself, but I do believe the anti-armor option isn't completely lost if we do happen to acquire suitable levels in Electrostatic touch.
Cable + electrotouch could do decent mid ranged stealth attack.
Still won't have the knockback, but you can't get it all.
>>
>>30881002
>>30880527
B-buh my JJ sense and Enhanced Contortion that'd allow us to dodge bullets and shit like fucking Neo!
>>
>>30881054
>but Adhesive would be useful too,

I like it for stealth and also helps with Level 1 Wings.

And I like Animal Affinity and Floral Synthetic Biology, but I don't like the added extrapolatives. Plus I'd rather we upgrade stuff now first.
>>
>>30881063
Still would need agility for that, which I said I was already supporting before anything else.

Agility should help us with the adhesive rolls as well.

personally, I'm gonna vote for photosynthesis/animal affinity (don't think it win will though)

however in Agility 2 vs Adhesive 2, Agility adds more to the table. There's just more uses for it and its far less situational than Adhesive.

I see the benefits of agility, adhesive, and wings but I really want the Druid set.Thank goodness Ch2 is supposedly having more X points. Hopefully both idea sets will be acquired
>>
>>30881063
Err... you'd need high agility, Geointuitive vision, enhanced contortion to do that. Spidersense too if you wanna do it against a guy you can't see.
>>
>>30881063
Kid. In. A. Candy. Store. Still, for combat (and otherwise), it sounds like a REALLY great idea, Anon. People assume combat is all about offense, but we're pretty weak defensively.

>>30881062
Sounds like something to work towards.

>>30881091
Free good food for many is useful. Growing healing plants and other stuff (could grow toothpaste pants and other shit) could be great. It's the nebulous future.
>>30881098
REALLLLY wish we'd gotten agility instead of our ranged weapon. Then we could have a more realistic discussion on it.
>>
>>30881124
Personally, I think of going with the following priorities.
1st power. Agility 2
2nd power. Electro touch. As Devo once said, "you must whip it."
3rd power. MYSTERIES OF THE DRUIDS
>>
>>30881124

I'd rather upgrade before getting more, but that's fine too.

>>30881154
I'm just really starting to hate the idea of him being a druid.

>Growing healing plants and other stuff (could grow toothpaste pants and other shit)

Stupid idea.

And with the powers we're going to get, it'll just be too much points that we could put into other things we already have.
>>
>>30881154
>JJ takes over an island and makes it into a paradise
>Takes up the mutant name "El Presidente"
>>
>>30881200
I like agility, I like invis, I like bullet-dodging. I don't care about druid stuff. I care about diplomancy, and how we can use it to remove Kimura, Creeper, and future problems.
>>
>>30881200
Kimura killing abilities come first on my list of priorities.
MYSTERIES OF THE DRUIDS is a side project that I'd support when we're in a situation where our offense and defense look decent enough to kill most things that can be thrown at us.

Agility 2 is a solid investment but I feel it can wait.

Kimura and the Facility are back to square one on JJ and Laura and I think they might be pissed over Typhon so I'm not worried about them in the near future. So I feel electro touch can wait as well.

Really want to nip that burgeoning Scar Black market in the bud ASAP before the Cops start tracing them to the Scar, so I'm really leaning towards Druid

>>30881200
its 8 points. 1 less than it would take to get Electro touch lv 4, our alleged "best" way to kill Kimi
>>
>>30881255
>and how we can use it to remove Kimura, Creeper

If Diplomancy is a knife, then yes.

If you mean talking to htem, that's stupid.

To continue, I don't care for DB and am concerned about legitimate uses. That said, it's not going anywhere. I can see legitimate uses for the whole growing plants thing as a future project.

For current stuff, agility seems like a good.

>>30881332
Yeah, I somehow doubt Kimura could be convinced to join our hobo band. Psychics is her weakness, so diplomancy could help us in that regard.
>>30881401
It's the problem in front of us, yeah.
>>
>>30881435
>I don't care for DB and am concerned about legitimate uses

NO FUCKING SHIT
>>
>>30881196
I'll back you on agility 2 and electro 2, but if we go druid - and it seems increasingly likely - it should wait until we've built up our general survivability. A lot.
I mean, personally I'd want to take at least one level of agility, finish up senses, subdermalx2, wingsx2 and a level of taserhands before even touching any of the utility slots. That's 16 points, anon.
>>
>>30881125
Crusty has explicitly stated that our current senses level + Geointuitive vision + Agility lvl 2 would let us dodge bullets. It would have a high DC but it would be possible.

Agility level 3 would let us dodge bullets with a much lower DC.

Honestly, Agility 2 seems like the thing we can build on the most, and things will change in the near future due to Creeper, the gangs, shit happening, spaghetti happening, and all that jazz.

Druid...I don't really care about. Most of the utility powers seemed kinda lackluster to me. Others like it, and if I'm going to have to deal with a block of people voting for it, I might as well figure out how it'll be useful. If it wins, great. But I am unsure about how long anyone could maintain the effort necessary to learn it.

>>30881448

We'd have to get the seeds for anything first, weed is easier.

On the off chance you're serious...
It's because Xavier refuses to contemplate anything even remotely resembling dirty work. Or most kinds of work.
Xavier makes the inroads for peace - when he can be bothered.
Magneto wipes the few really dangerous nutjobs he can find off the face of existence - along with everything else even vaguely nearby. Unfortunately, or possibly fortunately, he has a fairly high tolerance for danger. And nutjobs.
Everyone else? They just try not to die.
Marvel is not a fun place to live.

We really need to look into flight level 2 so that we don't need to climb a building every time we want to use it.
