Notes on Rolls and Voting:

When I request rolls, each set of three rolls counts for one action. For example, a two-step plan would take the first 6 linked rolls. A particularly bad failure can interrupt a string of actions.

When rolling 1d100, I will consider criticals within the first ten linked rolls. Only criticals that occur in the first three rolls will be counted as "supercrits". This is still the case even if you'd have plan long enough to require more than ten rolls.

When rolling 1d20, the rules are the same, but I only consider criticals for the first five rolls, rather than ten. Criticals in the first three are still "supercrits".

When a plot choice results in extensive debate, I'll try to weed out the most popular trains of thought, and then call a vote on them. When voting, please respond with only a link back to the post and the number corresponding to your opinion. Other votes are discounted, including those with dice rolls or extra spaces.

Finally, note that this is not a democracy; it is a benevolent dictatorship.

Recent Events Summary:

Your enemies are still lacking a vital component of their plan, a component which may provide you with a window of opportunity to save Sir Flint. While Hemmelus's proposition of an ambush using the power of Chronomancy sounds feasible, it's also risky, and you decided to run the idea by your allies before coming to a decision.

Hecate told you that Hemmelus's plan was possible with her powers, and she then assisted you on a Dream Walk. You were able to locate Donovan's dream, calm his nightmares, and tell him about the plan.

The next morning, you discovered Yi Fang on his way to calling upon a fair lady, as he put it. You cloaked yourself and followed him, and he ended up at the Black Lady's room. That didn't surprise you - but what did is when he offered to take her hand in marriage as a means to unite their countries. Melody evaded committment, but now you've somehow been roped into a double date with Abigail and the two leaders.

After breakfast, you spoke with Auriel about the plan, and reminded her of a need to learn Spirit magic.

And after that, you brought Abigail to the Nemesis. Her hand is now fully restored, thanks to your powers - and then some. You spent the rest of the day working on the Nemesis itself, and discovered that its true potential lies in the ability to incorporate the parts of other airships into itself.

You've informed Fang about the truth of your origins, and the plan to save Donovan using Hecate's powers. He took it rather well, all considered.

The war meeting has come and gone. While Fang's battle plan went through relatively unopposed, Sandalphon will be joining you when you infiltrate Kan-Abar to kill the summoners that are maintaining the demon lords. Of course, he needs them for his own plan - so his help is likely to be mixed.

It's just past noon. After today, there are 5 days until the attack commences.

>Last time...

"Most High," you say, "with all due respect, we need to use caution, at least at first. Your power is formidable, but when we reach Kan-Abar, every demon within a mile of the city will know you're there."

"But that's the point," Sandalphon says. "Let them come. They'll rush out to stop me. I'll empty the city. It'll give you a much easier time."

"I also believe that Steward has his own weapon prepared to join the strike force."

"Hmm?" Sandalphon taps the table. "I had assumed that weapon would be making up for his small numbers when his battalion caps the northern end of the valley."

Steward looks at you. "...I have reached a similar conclusion, John. I will need 003 to play the role I currently occupy in the Archmage's plan of attack."

You frown in thought.

Your own current battle strategy makes Sandalphon the best choice to accompany you to Kan-Abar...but he's the very man that wants to use the demons to power his sigil. If you got far enough, he might very well stop you himself from doing any real damage. Any help he'd give you would be superficial.

But then, if he's not at the battle...your allies could probably get away with a lot more, and their plans wouldn't be nearly as disturbed.

But there's more to it than that. You're positive Sandalphon would want to oversee the sigil personally - but he's offering to take himself out of the battle, right where the sigil has to be positioned. Like you, he must have some faster mode of transportation to make a quick exit from Kan-Abar. Or maybe he's even depending on the demon lord for that. If they can call each other, it stands to reason that he might hitch a ride...

You might be able to get the Most High to back down from coming along on the strike team. But who will replace him? And do you really want to, besides?

"Well, if that's the case, Steward," you say, "I'd be honored to have you help me, Most High."

"Indeed," Sandalphon says. "Just don't forget what I told you. Today, I will clear your path. Today."

"I appreciate that."

Fang gives you a subtle nod. You're sure he was thinking pretty much the same thing you were. Having Sandalphon along for the ride is dangerous, but you need his plan to work - up to a point. And if he's with you, the Archmage won't have to worry about him.

And you think you might be able to get a certain water elemental to throw a wrench in the Highest's plans...

The meeting continues as the various leaders debate finer points of positioning and how the airships should be arranged. You don't have much to contribute in terms of tactics, so you let the others do the talking. They make a few adjustments, but Yi Fang's general strategy remains backbone of the battle ahead.

The meeting breaks up after that.

You've got a lot on your plate. But then, that's how it always is.

What do you do?

>Sandalphon in Kan-Abar could be good...and it could be bad. You need something up your sleeve - something like Leviathan.
>You need to speak with Auriel. With her help, and the witness you have captured on the Nemesis, you might be able to sway Raphael or Charmeine to your side.
>Fang's fleet of small jet-like airships could assist in the battle, but they'll be held back without the Staff of Winds. Maybe you should talk to Melody before the date tomorrow night.
>You need to lay some of your own groundwork for the battle. If you locate the Earth mana pool in Kan-Abar, you can warp there easily in the future, and you have been thinking about laying your portal anchor at the battlefield itself for quick access.

This one first, I'd think.

For the Kan-Abar earth pool/battlefield anchor I'd like to first ask Obis the earth pools general/exact location, so we wouldn't have to do any pinging.
And of course we should fix silence before trying anything truly sneaky.

Well, Ideally we should talk to Auriel to get her working on the other Angels as I doubt they will care much for us trying to do the talking...
Then we should meditate on Silence, we can find out from Auriel how things went during our meditation...
Then we can add the mana pool to our quick travel list and set up the anchor in a centeral location based on the battle plans, so that if we use our ability to pull a hasty retreat with our strike force, the strike force can act as reinforcements and re-deploy to where they are most needed...

WHY WOULD YOU DO THAT

---------
---------

Alright, you'll go do your own stuff after conferring with Auriel. What do you do to prepare?

Your only set obligation at the moment is the date tomorrow night. It's about 32-34 hours until then (in-game time)
>>
>>30903536
Spend 24 hours on shards. Prioritize silence and the weakened ones.
>>
>>30903536
Tell the Atlanteans about Leviathan, if we're doing that now.

Wait, never mind.

We also need to work on our SHARDS.
>>
>>30903556
After we do this, we should go ask Hemmelus how Mana Potions are made. We never got around to that.
>>
>>30903536
;-; PLS DON'T YELL AT ME

>>
>>30903536
First, meditate upon Silence (and perhaps some other shards), then talk with Obis about the location of the Earth Pool in Kan-Abar, then go to the battlefield and Lay Anchor, and then... sneak for the earth pool in Kan-Abar.

And once we touch the earth pool just... port back to Arland.
>>
>>30903536
Shards.

Gotta fix Silence. Breeze would be another good pick. Ardor as well.
>>
>>30903536

Shards... that would require rolling.

>>
>>30903564
Probably easier to just go take the other half of the gem and shadow magic our way out of there.
>>
>>30903536
after working on shards for a bit we should go set our anchor and find the earth pool in Kan-Abar then return.
>>
>>30903628
I kind of wanted to use the anchor to flood Kan-Abar.

I'll second that as well. Though I'd like to add that we should ask Hecate for permission with sudden visitors and visitations before hand, as a courtesy to the radiant sun of elemental spirit that Hecate, the most beauteous, certainly defines within the whole of Venia.
>>
>>30903536
fix silence, talk to the atlantians about leviathan
>>
You find Auriel in private a little while after the meeting, and bring up the subject of your captive.

<Do you think we can get Raphael or Charmeine on our side?> you ask her. <From what you told me earlier, you know them well.>

"...Raphael...I don't know." Auriel shrugged. "You know those people who you're friends with because they're friends with your friends, but you don't really know them personally?"

<...not really.>

"Uh...right. Anyway, it's sort of like that. We run in similar circles - he's 4th Highest - but I'm not best friends with every angel. He's the steward of the Ring City, now, but back in the day he was our logistics man, supplies and acquisitions. He wasn't much for getting together with the troops and having a few drinks. Even today he's always cooped up in his office. A fine warrior, too, to be sure, but always a soloist. I was surprised when I heard Joey talking about him the way he did."

<So, Raphael...he might actually be in favor of Sandalphon's plan?>

"...I don't know," she says. "Frankly, Shadow, if assume everything became public, there might be a lot of people perfectly happy with turning the other way and letting Donovan take the hit. One life, to return the Lord of Light to the world? It's not them, or someone they know, so they'd let it go. It's sick, but it's true."

<What about Charmeine?>

>con't
>>
>>30903661
It was also a neat idea to ask Hemmelus/Adavan/Hecate to prepare for the idea that the Nemesis may have to jump to Kan-Abar for the chronomancy, if the sigil-on-penta thing happens there.
Might also be nice to ask Fang to factor that possibility in.

"...she..." Auriel smiles. "...she was like a mother to me. To all of us. After...things, happened, back before I joined the army, she...helped me back onto my feet. Taught me the basics of Light magic. Gave me a reason to live again. She'll listen to me, but she might be caught by who she is. She's always been a unifying force, a calm voice when the rest of us would bicker and jockey for position. I think she'd rather try to get me to reconcile with them, not split away."

<...our chances don't sound good.>

"You worked on me for months," she says. "Now, we have five days. They'll listen to me...but as far as having them cut ties and join us, well, I wouldn't get my hopes up."

<I guess we have to stay realistic,> you say. <I'd be happy to help you, but maybe it would be better if I stayed out of the conversation. I feel like there's a lot of history there.>

"Yeah," she says, "I'll handle it. You go do whatever you need to do."

<Understood.>

With that, Auriel leaves you.

There are regular people still living there. If you wanted to flood anything, you'd need to flood the battleground. I disagree good sir. You seem to be implying that you don't use many different components in the finest of orchestras. However a world-class orchestra will employ both quality AND quantity in their artwork. I apply the same philosophy to my pizza. Only the finest, but the finest of everything.

(Silence) - Strong

----------
----------

You speak with Hemmelus on meeting with Hecate beforehand to more carefully map out the chronomancy spell. He's actually quite enthusiastic. He's amazed by the idea of teleporting directly through a mana pool, and agrees to go directly.

And so then it was that you bounded across the rooftops of Dobshire with a flying sage trailing behind you. For once, you didn't have to sneak past the guards keeping pedestrians away from the mana pool's containment structure - Hemmelus was granted access with nothing more than a nod and a wave.

And suddenly, you're in Hecate's inner chamber, the sizable cave holding the spirit mana pool. You set Hemmelus down a safe distance from the raw Spirit sitting at the bottom of the stone.

He peers at the floor. "Follows the pattern."

<Pattern?>

"Every mana pool I've studied forms over Venia's ley lines," he says. "Cities like Dobshire and Heavensgate formed around them after magitek that could harness their energy was perfected."

<They are where the barrier is weaker,> echoes Hecate's voice. The goddess fades into existence over the spirit mana pool and walks foward. <Betwixt the cores of Shadow that contain the core of the world run lines of chaos. These are the ley lines. And on occasion, the power collects in wells you call mana pools.>

"...Hecate Herself," Hemmelus whispers. "Ah." He bows. "I am unsure how to address you."

<The trappings and etiquette of men do tend to bore me,> she says. <Lady is a fair enough title, I suppose. From your own soul, I take you as the sage that suggested chronomancy. You believe you can provide a template to accomplish our task?>

"I can, yes. I've studied such magic carefully, though I haven't had power to put it into practice."

<Show me.>

>con't

>>30904377

Hemmelus channels Light. Lines of gold etch themselves into the ground, forming the sketch of the chronomancy sigil. It's easily as complex as any spell you've seen - aside, perhaps, some Hyperion's summoning circle.

<...it will do,> she says. <You have some talent.>

"Thank you, my lady."

<A shame you were not born with Spirit.>

"Ah." Hemmelus rubs his arms. "We can't all be so lucky, I suppose."

Hecate raises a hand to her lips. You think she's amused. <No, I suppose not.>

"My lady...if you don't mind a question?"

<That was one,> she says. <You may have another, yes.>

"What exactly do you plan on doing after the battle, here?"

<The greatest danger to the world, at the moment, is the presence of the demons lords. Once they are returned to the Nether, where they belong, the barrier surrounding core must be properly repaired. Life is breathed in Venia by chaos that seeps from the core, and thereafter mixes with the Order extant in the Void. Too much chaos, and things loose their form.>

"...do you have a plan?" he asks.

<Specifics, no,> she says. <I believe that Erebus - or Shadow, rather - has not yet restored his full might, as he told me himself. I am in a similar situation. But I have power enough to help in the battle. Once we have Shadow's full abilities at our disposal, and perhaps the aid of Geb and Leviathan, we will have more resources with which to tackle this fundamental problem.>

>con't

>>30904414

"But...beyond that," Hemmelus says. "I mean, Leviathan too? And Geb? What will become of the world, when the elementals once again walk the earth?"

<It shall be what we make it,> she says.

Her words have a tone of finality. Hemmelus bobs his head. "My lady."

<Until later, sage. Oh, and do stabilize the central figures of your sigil. The left and upper right sides of the inner weave show room for improvement.>

"...how so?" he asks.

<I don't know. I just feel it.> And then she fades away.

You teleport Hemmelus back to Dobshire, and he retreats into his laboratory, muttering to himself about the sigil.

What do you do now?

You decide to fly north to the planned battlefield - the Evinbrook Basin.

It's a wide, flat valley, tucked between the Kanian Hills and some scattered highlands bordering the western side of the Tairns. You put your teleport anchor on the top of the highlands. That should give you a good view if you have to make a quick entrance, and it's where your allied forces will be concentrated.

You then fly to Kan-Abar...

--------
--------

>con't

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7JbaBbQlXR0

You pass over the Kanian Hills, and find yourself in the desert of the same name. At night, it's chill, sandy, dusty. You land on the dunes here and there to ward off the skysever, throwing up small puffs of sand as you make your way out onto the end of the peninsula. Eventually, you find the Kan River.

Apparently, the name was derived from an old language that was a combination of the common tongue and Logi's own 'language of fire'. Kan means sand's ending - that is, where the desert ends, and river water begins. Abar means 'end' - and so, Kan-Abar is then the end of the desert's river.

Capturing the roars and flickers of flame could only be done phonetically, at best, but it proved a good means of secret communication. Obis told you that it had been passed down in his family and the families of a few of the country's highest nobles since they gathered there after the Elementomachy. Only those with fire-aligned souls can learn it; he has no talent for magic, but he was still able to do that much.

Kan-Abar is far larger than you expected. The city sprawls over a huge portion of the river delta, fed by the rich farmland that rests on the river's floodplain. Canals connect the splitting streams of the river through the city and to the port, providing feeds for a constant traffic of small boats. It's not odd to see fishing boats out in the ocean, or parked in the middle of the city's tall alleys, tucked under a bridge.

A massive palace, the headquarters of the Kan-Abar government, as well as the royal residence, dominates the skyline. Obis told you that the royal gardens were built around the Earth mana pool - it should be an extensive walled area not far from the palace itself.

You are shadowmelded. Currently, you are gliding, high enough to be taken as a bird - though with the cloudy night sky, it's doubtful anyone could see you at a glance.

You land on the plains outside the city. You follow the low wall bordering the main road along the river, keeping yourself tucked into the dark shadow behind it. You pass a few guard patrols without incident.

The outermost portion of the city isn't walled - it's long since outgrown its original defensive fortifications. You pass twin guard towers that hum with fire magic. A few mages are working around the building, walking with patrols, or working in the building itself. There's more than a few demons scattered here and there. Most of them appear similar, based on the same summoning template - smaller imps, satyrs, a few crow demons flitting amongst the buildings. Several minotaurs stand at intersections like statues, silent weapons of intimidation.

The city is quiet. Everyone's inside but for the soldiers and the mages. You catch a few people here and there, but you imagine there must be a curfew of some kind in effect.

You wind through the bridges and canals - it's not long until you feel the steady pulse of Earth from the mana pool. The Fire pool seems to be inside the palace.

You reach the outer wall of the gardens, lingering in an alley across the street. The gate is shut. The streets near the palace are clustered with more of those fire-towers. A patrol of only mundane guards passes you by; they don't notice you.

How do you enter the gardens?

>hop the wall

You decide to ink under the door.

You wait for a gap between patrols, then slink forward across the stone pavement. But just as you contort your body to pass under the wood, you sense something.

You withdraw your arm. There's some sort of magic, there. Not anything harmful, but it would tell a mage that something had passed under the door.

However, there's nothing like that protecting the rest of the wall. You stretch your arms, then take a hop, easily bounding the fifteen feet and grasping the ledge of the gardens. You pull yourself up onto the wall atop the door.

The earth mana pool is in sight a good distance away across the gardens, near where another wall cuts the space in two. There's another cluster of guards lingering near it - sneaking past them shouldn't be any trouble.

You sense mages in the next part of the gardens, where only the nobles are allowed.

What do you do?

>get to the pool and manaport back to Arland
>continue to investigate; maybe you can learn something useful

Would Kan-Abar have learned that the enemy has the capability to travel through manapools based on how the mages corpses in the Jacobs Field keep would've had to have been defending themselves against someone coming from it?

You dash between bushes and hedges, across flower patches. You duck around the thorns of a small rose garden. You're as quiet as a shadow.

In a moment, you're dipping a hand into the mana pool.

You stand back up, and frown to yourself. This is too good an opportunity to pass up. If you could gain any information about their plans...

You cross into the restricted side of the gardens.

There's a group of mages in one corner of the garden. They're talking amongst themselves.

A guard patrol is walking atop the wall of the inner section. They're accompanied by a minotaur. A few crow demons are perched on a nearby tower.

In the back of the gardens is a door; it appears to open into a building that is adjacent to the main palace structure.

"They killed him last night."

You slip into a nearby bush. Contorted between the leaves and branches, you're almost perfectly hidden.

One mage seems to be doing most of the talking. The others are just standing there with grim looks on their faces.

"They killed him because he said we should try to negotiate," the man continues. His hands work nervously in front of him. "I mean, I agree. We have all of Kelvere. Kan-Abar is stronger than ever. Why keep pushing?"

"Our enemies won't let us keep Kelvere," one of the mages says quietly. "Not after the methods we used. The anvels must act, or they lose credibility."

"Then maybe we should stop summoning so many demons," the mage says. "They outnumber us five to one, now. It's too much. The demons are getting bolder. They're trying to slip their bonds, trying to bend the magic that's keeping them here. The demon lords are pushing them to it!"

"You sound paranoid, Delan," one of the other mages says. "They aren't trying anything."

"They are!" he Delan insists. "I could feel one of my summons trying to break free. I mean, under normal circumstances, they can't even try. Their own magic doesn't let them. But we've gone too far."

"We need the demons," the third mage says. His voice sounds dead. "They're the only advantage we have."

"And I say we use them to negotiate some sort of treaty, take what we have, and run. And then we get rid of them!"

"...get rid of them?" the first mage asks again. "They've been more loyal to us than any other country. Kan-Abar has always been isolated. The demons are like us, in a way."

"...like us? That's ridiculous!"

"So, you want to get rid of our weapon? Throw away our allegiances?"

"Allegiance to what?" Delan demands. "They're just...constructs! Summons from the Nether!"

>con't
>>
"They're more than that."

"Much more."

"They serve us. And we help them. That's stronger than other bonds we might make."

"Far stronger."

"...you all..." Delan swallows. "I was just...making suggestions. I don't disagree."

"Of course." One of the others puts a hand on Delan's shoulder. "No one said otherwise."

"...I...I think, I'll, go to the kitchens, and get something to eat!" Delan's voice cracks as he slides out of the group. "D-does anyone want anything?"

"I'm fine, thank you, Delan."

"I ate earlier."

"No, go ahead."

"...right. Uh, I'll be back. In a while."

Delan scurries across the gardens, head down. The eyes of the crow demons perched on the roof track his movement. The minotaurs stare at him from the wall.

Luckily, Delan's shadow falls over the bush as he moves down the path. You slip into it and get towed along for a free ride.

He enters the building adjacent to the palace. His pace immediately increases to a half-jog. He darts down the hall and passes into a side door - but not before glancing to see if anyone followed him.

He jogs down the new, smaller passage. You feel yourself getting closer to the fire mana pool. You're entering the palace.

You come to an intersection. Delan starts to turn left.

There are two satyrs standing in the hallway. They both turn to stare at him.

He flinches, and keeps going straight. You feel them start to follow behind you.

Delan glances back nervously - he must be able to feel the demons as well. he ducks through the first available door. You pass through a room - it looks like servant quarters. The beds are dotted with sleeping forms. He passes through with little sound - you feel him channel a bit. Maybe there's fire magic that can be used for stealth?

On the other side of the room is another door, and then another hallway. He cuts a sharp right.

You feel a looming presence ahead. It feels like Wind and Lightning. It's strong, and it feels like it's keeping its true strength supressed.

Delan charges ahead, oblivious to the danger. He senses aren't yours.

You impress Delan with a sense of fear - and try your best to replicate the sensation you feel lingering behind the door - Wind and Lightning, suppressed, but not completely hidden.

Delan's eyes widen. He stops, takes a step back. He rushes down the hallway in the other direction.

The door you came from opens. The two satyrs step out. Delan cuts a sharp right before they spot him, but they can still sense his presence. He's jogging faster now, on the verge of breaking into a run.

He shoulders his way through a door. Suddenly, you're in the palace proper. The floor is polished marble, reflecting the candles set into braziers along the walls. Obsidian slabs set into the white floors creates a weaving figure eight pattern.

Delan continues down the main hall a distance, throwing glances over his shoulder with increasing frequency. He reaches the intersection of two major hallways and turns right.

He stops dead.

There's a man standing in front of you, a good ten yards away. His arms are folded behind his back. He's wearing heavy armor. A red cape is draped around his shoulders. It's painted with a ram's head.

There's an imp sitting on the man's shoulder. It's leaning into his ear. It feels like Wind and Lightning.

The man speaks. His voice echoes through the hall. "Are you going somewhere, Delan?"

Delan takes a step backward. He turns around.

But he's trapped in the intersection.

From where he came, to the left, are the two satyrs. Directly ahead is a minotaur, stomping across the marble. A mage and a crow demon are down to the right, approaching with steady, inevitable steps.

Delan's head whips between the hallways, trying to find a way out.

There is none.

>>
You Pocket Delan.

Hidden as you were, he had no idea that was coming. It happens in an instant. He doesn't even have a chance to resist you.

Even as you feel the mana slip from your body for the small effort, you've vanished down the hall, past the minotaur and to another intersection. You glance to the side and blink again, crossing another long distance in a second. You're practically on the other side of the palace.

You've moved more or less parallel to the Earth pool. The mana pool is beneath you, on the first floor of the palace.

Your shadowmeld is still in effect.

What do you do?

You decide to head for the earth pool. That was a close call, and now they'll suspect something. The longer you stay here, the worse it will get.

You manage to wind your way through the palace without notice. It's slow going - you have to keep looking for the right hallways that take you closer to your destination. But side from a few patrols that seem to be walking with a bit more intent than before, there are no incidents.

Eventually, you make it back to the hall leading from the royal gardens. There are columns lining the central area. You see the door Delan went through before to your right.

There's an imp perched on one of the braziers. It's look down at two minotaurs.

The small, winged demon snaps to attention. It glances about. "...one of these shadows is not right. Watch the doors. I'll search."

Both of the hulking demons stomp toward the garden gateway. The flutters into the air. Lightning crackles around its tiny claws.

What do you do?

>abandon stealth in favor of maximum speed; get to the earth pool

>>
>>30907673
>>30907620
after we're through the side door, it takes a turn.
>>
You take the safe path and slip through the side door before the imp can really begin to scan the area. You Ink under the door, a silent pool of shadow, and then reform on the other side.

A few halls and doors later, you're back in the servant quarters. You walk past the slumbering servants without waking them.

You find the next hall. This is where you first sensed one of those imps.

Coming from the direction Delan originally tried to go are two women. One is old; one is younger, probably near Delan's age.

The young woman seems nervous. "We should go back and wait. Delan said he'd come."

"We can't wait on Delan forever, girl," she says. "We don't save ourselves, we don't deserve saving. 'Asides, he's an hour late. They probably got him."

"Don't say that!" the girl hisses.

"I'm just telling it like it is. Don't let your heart muddle your head right now. We can worry later. Right now, we got to get out."

"...but, Delan said he'd get us out."

"I know one of the fishermen that delivers to the palace," she says. "We can go to his place."

"Can you trust him?"

"Eh, I've given him a few tumbles. Better than nothing."

What do you do?

>reveal yourself to the two women; try to get them to guide you to the earth pool
>reveal yourself to the two women; try to get information
>you don't have time for this. Keep on alone.

I - just, what are we actually doing here now?

Delan might have info, but it being anything we don't already know or that our allies can't find out seems slim.

These servants might help with sneaking in the palace but we've already proved capable of that and we've got Obis for that anyway.

Just grab them and find a space to open our portal out of here since we can't sneak back to the earth pool.

Slim how? He's a mage who has been living on the inside, whereas Fangs spies to Kan-Abar all died. He'll know something of use, even if it's minor it will count. Also, we've already got Delan in the first place. His friends cost 2 mana.

You open up a portal, carefully trying to keep the magic under control, more so than usual. It takes you a bit longer, but you think you do a good job of it - at least, no demons come running to stop you, anyway.

You jump through your portal, and just like that, you're in the Evinbrook Basin.

With some very odd cargo.

How do you get into these situations?

Have we considered the option of using our teleport anchor to flood cities by setting the anchor in the enemy city/fortification, then constantly opening portals in the deep sea, maybe next to Leviathans palace... pressure of the water should do some damage, then the sheer volume of water should wash away the defences and the defenders...
