The year is 1938. The Great War has long past and now is the time for innovation, exploration and adventure.

Throughout the world, airships are now common sights, airplanes have become the flying car, and high speed trains rule the transportation industry. Men and women of derring-do travel the world in search of ancient artifacts and long-thought extinct animals. Technology becomes almost indistinguishable from the magic that exists in the world.

But not all is right. In the ruins of post-war Germany, a new power rises led under the banner of Adolf Hitler, threatening to destroy the balance of the world. To the far east, Imperial Japan expands and slaughters its way through China. Air pirates dominate the skies and prey upon the lifeblood which now flows through the air. The occult and the mysterious strike terror and fear into the hearts of many.

That’s where you come in.

The Magical Girls come from a mysterious background, nobody knows where they come from or who they are. All that’s known is that they are powerful beings brimming with magic.

You are Magical Girl Liberty, fifteen year old Christine “Chris” Hunter.

The World of Tomorrow needs a new kind of hero.

> SEPTEMBER 20, 1938 <
> SOMEWHERE IN EGYPT <

“… and these are my… daughters,” says your mother, Carol Hunter.

Mom has enlisted the aide of a fellow archaeologist and treasure, an Irishman posing as a Kurdish merchant under the name of Ali el Ghazi, or as Mom called him “Mister O’Donnell.” Along with him, he assembled a group of about seven Egyptian porters, all of them looking rather untrustworthy.

Mr. O’Donnell rubbed his long beard, pensive. In his fake Kurdish accent, he said, “Funny that you have a Japanese Girl as daughter.”

Sumire Kawanish AKA Magical Girl Lightning says, “I was adopted.”

You’re all marching along the wet and damp shallows of the Nile River. For the past few hours as you walked, Mr. Donnell has been grilling Mom for answers. Mom, for the most part, has only said that she’s looking for a particular tomb.

What she’s not saying is that this tomb is the final resting place for the only other copy of the Shepherd’s Journal, AKA, the map to Atlantis. As she said when you were going over it with her last night aboard the Sparrow, “An old Egyptian king, his name doesn’t matter, he acquired the Shepherd’s Journal and had it copied down. This copy ended up getting buried with him. So we go in, grab it, we’re done.”

Mom always had that habit of making things sound easy.

For now though, you, Mom, Rana Scott AKA Magical Girl Bomber, Sumire, Mr. O’Donnell, and the porters simply marched. The Sparrow was docked back in town dozens of miles away with Jeanine and Anneliese.

“Let’s take a break,” says Mr. O’Donnell, stopping. “I’m parched.” He unclips his canteen from his belt and hands it to you. “Miss Hunter, would you mind grabbing some water for me and the porters from the river?”

You take the canteens from everyone and head down to the river. The waters are as crystal clear as a diamond. You kneel down by the river’s edge and cup some water into your hand. You take a quick sip. Cool and fresh, perfect drinking water.

You start filling up the canteens one by one.

The river flows on for miles, right out into the Mediterranean. You’re not entirely sure how far you are from the sea, but judging by how wide the river is now, could be a country away for all you know.

Your ears perk at the cocking of a revolver, right behind your head.

“Hands up. Stand, slowly,” says one of your distrustful porters. You put your hands up slowly, then stand up. “Turn around.”

You face him, and he glares at you, keeping his revolver pointed right between your eyes. You glare back at him. You can never trust a darn porter these days. He gestures for you to march. And you do, right past him.

You turn back to glare at him some more, only to see something rising out of the water, creeping up on him.

“Look out!” you yell. He turns back, only to get snapped into the jaws of a Giant Nile Crocodile. He screams in pain as the Croc whips him back in forth in his mouth, then tosses his into the river. The Croc growls and hisses as he turns his attention to you.

“Hey! Crocodile!” you yell as you step back. Hopefully someone would’ve heard the commotion.

Finally, the group arrives. The porters grab their guns, shotguns, pistols, and Tommy guns, and fire at the Croc before it snaps at you with its powerful jaws. The bullets spark and shatter on the Croc’s powerful armor as it turns towards them.

Mr. O’Donnell says, “That’s no ordinary crocodile!”

You yell, “Really! I hadn’t noticed!”

The Croc charges at the porters, like Lightning and it snaps another porter into his jaws. The porter screams bloodily as he fires his gun into the air, useless. The Croc tightens his jaw, the porter going limp as his spine is shattered, then tosses the body right into a nearby rock.

The remaining porters all scream in Egyptian as they run away, dropping their guns.

“Cowards!” yells Mr. O’Donnell.

Sumire yells, “Finally! A chance!”

“Wait!” yells Mom. “Don’t-“

> MAGICAL GIRL LIGHTNING! <

Lightning yells as she blasts off into the air and pounces upon the great old Croc, her body being half the size of the beast’s head. She slashes at his eyes, the Croc going rough and tumble as it runs around.

“Goddamn it!” yells Mom.

Rana says, “We aren’t supposed to-“

Not now you guys. You throw your shields at the Croc’s bared teeth, shattering a few of them, as you run up onto the Croc’s head with Lightning. You grab onto one of the many ridges, a bullet scar left by an elephant gun no doubt.

“Nice to see you, Libby!” yells Lightning as she stabs her naginata into the Croc’s head. He opens up his jaws, roaring in pain. Mom and Mr. Donnell grab their guns and fire into the Croc’s open mouth, smashing his gums and his tongue to pieces. The Croc backs away into the river, retreating. You grab Lightning and jump off at the river’s edge.

The Croc roars and screams as it retreats back into the river, hidden beneath the waves.

You sigh, panting. Lightning grins. “Yeah, I’d run from me too you overgrown lizard!”

Mom walks up to you harshly, glaring at you. “What was that?!” she says.

“Lightning needed help, I helped you,” you say. You place your hands on your hips, withdrawing your shields into magical space. “I’m fine by the way.”

Mom sighs exasperatedly. “Didn’t I expressly tell you no transforming?”

“Well, didn’t I say that those porters looked sketchy and that they might try and rob us, which one of them almost did if it weren’t for King Croc over there?” you say.

Mom says, “I am your Mother, you will listen to what I say-“

“Now, now,” says Mr. O’Donnell as he gets in between you two. “Let’s not argue. We are very close to the Tomb, I can feel it.” He looks over to you, placing his hand over his chest. “Now, I consider it a great honor to be in the presence of a Magical Girl. Your Mother should be very lucky that she gave birth to you.”

Mom rolls her eyes. “Gee, thanks for taking my side, Mr. O’Donnell. Or would you prefer Ali el Ghazi?”

You pick up the canteens left by the river, then head on with everyone else. Lightning seems more or less proud of herself for jumping the gun there. You’ll have a chat with her later after all this is said and done.

“Mom, did you really think Mr. O’Donnell would think less of us if we were Magical Girls?” you ask.

Mom is about to say something, But Mr. O’Donnell says, “Oh, quite the contrary young lady. Magical Girls are possibly as old as human civilization, from the Ancient Babylonians and the Sumerians, to as far east as the Japanese shogunates and the Native American tribes.”

Mom says, “I don’t want to draw unnecessary attention to ourselves. We’re already competing with Hitler for the book.”

“Ah yes, the Scrolls of Aziz.” Mr. O’Donnell grins, walking next to you as he explains it like he would a child asking why the sky is blue. “You see, Aziz was a nomadic shepherd, when a fissure opened up in the world and he was cast into it. And in that fissure he found the ancient city of Atlantis!”

Rana asks, “What’s so special about the city of Atlantis?”

“Oh, much!” says Mr. O’Donnell. “They had medicine so advanced so as to regenerate even the most grievous of wounds. They had flying machines before man even thought about flying. And an infinite energy source to make all of this possible. That was the magic and the allure of the Lost Empire.”
>>
>>30938356
You say, “Ever read about it, Rana?”

Rana nods. “I’ve heard stories, I always thought it was just a myth.”

“Ah, myths are just history waiting to be uncovered,” says Mr. O’Donnell. You smile at that. It’s way better than how Mom would explain it.

After a decent walk along the river, you stop to see a huge stone structure, jutting out of a hill across the river, masked by tall trees and moss. “There!” says Mom. “That must be it.”

Between you and it however is a huge river, probably filled with crocodiles.

You say, “Maybe we should try and find a crossing?”

O’Donnell smiles, looking down at you. “Good call, Miss Hunter.” He points downriver. “The Nile should calm itself down a little aways down there, shouldn’t be too far.”

Mom says, “Let’s get to it then.”

You start heading further downriver. Rana asks Mr. O’Donnell. “How do you know Chris’ mom?”

Mr. O’Donnell says, “We were competitors in college. Always competing to get the best relics for the museum, always competing for the best grades. Of course I left the states, headed out for Afghanistan to hunt for treasure on my own, and your mother of course tried settling down-“

“Let’s not discuss this,” says Mom. “You know what happened.”

“Of course,” says Mr. O’Donnell.

With that, you find a rickety little rope bridge with aged rotting planks for steps stretching across the river. “Ah, so this is our crossing,” says Lightning.

Mr. O’Donnell leads you all across the bridge slowly, carefully stepping on each plank as the rushing river roars only a foot beneath you. You tread lightly, being the last in the pack. The wood creaks and groans beneath you.

Finally, Mr. O’Donnell finds dry land, then Rana, then Mom, then Lightning. You’re a few planks from stepping off, then the rope snaps, sending the bridge and you into the drink.

“Liberty!” yells Lightning.

You grab onto a rope, the river arguing with that by pushing and shoving against you as you struggle to breathe and hold on. The current has pushed you towards the center of the river, almost away from everyone.

O’Donnell grabs a nearby vine and ties it around a rock, then grips it and starts wading into the water, fighting the current. He holds out his hand. “Grab my hand!” he yells.

You nod. “I’m fine. Thank you, Mr. O’Donnell.”

He sets you down by the riverbank, allowing you to catch your breath. Lightning grins. “See, she was fine!”

Rana says, “You seemed pretty concerned, Lightning.”

“Oh shut up, Rookie,” says Lightning.

You look up at Mom. Mom simply shrugs, walking away to say, “We should be able to make it to the Pharoah’s Tomb now.”

You shake your head, then stand up, your clothes still a bit wet from the river. You transform back into your regular civilian-self. There’s no need for Magical Girl Liberty just yet.

You all march along to the Tomb entrance. It’s completely darkness as you look inside. “Alright,” says Mom as she pulls out a bullwhip from her jacket. “Me and Mr. O’Donnell will head inside. We’ll meet you in a bit.”

“Can’t we go in with you, Mom?”

Mom shakes her head, crossing her arms. “Nope. This is archaeology stuff I’m afraid. You wouldn’t be interested.”

Mr. O’Donnell says, “Oh, why not?”

“Mr. O’Donnel, they’re just kids,” says Mom.

“All the more reason to take them with us. Knowledge and enlightenment starts with the youth. We should take them with us,” says Mr. O’Donnell.

“I-“ Mom bites her lip. “Fine.” She points to you, “Stay out of the way, kid.” She points to Lightning. “And you, don’t steal anything.”

Lightning raises her arms innocently. “Who? Me?”

With that, Mr. O’Donnell leads you all in. He requests a light, and Rana responds by whispering into her hand, and then projecting an intense magical lamp to light the darkness. “Thank you,” says Mr. O’Donnell to Rana, smiling. Rana beams as she holds her hand up.

The Tomb walls are plain stone. Not the hieroglyphic covered pyramid ancients you were expecting. Moss, grime, and dust sits everywhere as you walk through. Finally, you hit an open entryway. Rana lights up the glyphs inscribed above it.

Mr. O’Donnell translates it as, “Turn back, or face my guards.”

Rana blinks, concerned. “Guards?”

Mom shrugs. “Probably just traps. Hell, more likely it’s just a way of warning off graverobbers. Obviously doesn’t seem to have worked considering how easily we got in here.”

“Now, now,” says Mr. O’Donnell. “We are only at the entrance. Who knows what mysteries lie in the Unknown Pharoah’s tomb.”

With that, all of you walk through. Rana’s light blasts the darkness as you walk through the lonely halls of the tomb. No gold, no inscriptions, not even a graverobber’s corpse. It’s strange, almost unsettling even, especially once you start descending down a steady flight of stairs downwards.
>>
>>30939504
Mr. O’Donnell stops, causing you all to pause. “What is it?” asks Mom.

He points down to the ground, what appears to be a loose brick. Lightning walks up and then taps it with the bottom of her naginata. Out of the wall, a line of spikes shoots out, almost skewering you all, a skeleton hangs, impaled.

Mr. O’Donnell narrows his eyes. “My goodness. This is Bilal.”

“Bilal?” asks Rana.

“Rival treasure hunter,” he says. “Very good. Bit of an idiot.” The spikes withdraw back into the wall, taking Bilal’s remains with them. You sidestep around the loose bricks as you continue onwards.

Finally, you reach a huge room. In the walls are many different holes, man-sized. Almost like the inside of a beehive. At the other end of the room lies a huge golden door, sparkling against Rana’s light. Discarded guns and weapons lie across the floor.

“I’ve got a bad feeling about this,” says Mom.

Lightning examines one of the holes, pulling a nice gold cup. “What are you talking about?”

Mom yells, “I thought I said not to touch anything you idiot Jap!”

You say, “Hey, she’s my friend! Lighten up, Mom!”

“Can we please not argue now,” says Mr. O’Donnell. “I’m getting very bad vibes from this room-“

Then the groaning begins. Everyone pauses and stays still. Then out of the holes, they come crawling, wrapped in bandages and papyrus. Their skin rotting and bones jutting at odd angles. Their eye sockets glow bright blue as they groan and growl, drawing swords and spears.

Oh great, zombies again.

Rana transforms alongside you as well.

>> MAGICAL GIRL BOMBER! <<

You rush at the zombies, charging and smashing through one and exploding him into dusts and bones. The others all shakily run at you, weapons held high. Rana cocks her dual Tommy guns and fires, shattering zombies left and right.

“Hey! Leave some for me!” yells Lightning as she jumps over you, smashing a zombie on impact and twirling her blade on landing, splitting two in half at the chest.

Meanwhile, Mom and Mr. O’Donnell work on the door, trying to bust it open.

A zombie moans as it thrusts it’s spear at you. You slam it out of the way and bash him in the skull, sending his head flying and the rest of his body into a pile of bones. Lightning yells, “Head’s up!”

You duck down and bring your shield up. Lightning hops up onto your shield and blasts off then lands on the ceiling. She blasts off again, impacting the ground and sending more zombies stumbling.

“Bomber!” yells Mr. O’Donnell. “The door!”

Bomber turns around and smashes Tommy Guns together to form an M2 Browning .50 Cal. She fires at the door, ripping it to shreds. The door falls over simply. “Come on!” yells Mom as she and Mr. O’Donnell run in.

You, Bomber, and Lightning hold off the zombies for a few more seconds, then follow after them. Lightning grips a hole in the door, then pulls it back up to stop them from following you, if only for a few minutes.

Finally, you enter the room. A great huge circular room, where at the center is the sarcophagus. Scattered about the room are huge treasures and other valuables that Lightning immediately starts digging into. The sarcophagus is lit by an intense blue light on the ceiling.

“Lightning, stop taking stuff,” you say.

Lightning continues filling her sleeves with gold coins. “But-“

“No buts. Drop it,” you say. Lightning frowns, then pours out all her accumulated loot out onto the ground.

With that, you walk around the room. The walls are patterned strangely, with lines shooting at straight angles and ending in circles all over. Mr. O’Donnell and Mom are checking around for any writing, anything. They find something around the sarcophagus. “What is it?” you ask.

Mr. O’Donnell says, “It’s Egyptian writing. A message from the Pharoah. It says that, “Those who seek the Lost Empire will find nothing but a tool to be abused. Buried with me is the book you seek, should you claim it from my hands, the Guardian will not allow you to leave.”

Mom scoffs. “Probably more curse bullshit.”

You say, “We just fought a small army of zombies and you’re still going on about curses?”

“Well,” says Mr. O’Donnell. “Nothing for it. Let’s open it up.” He presses on the lid from the side, pushing. Mom assists him, as do you and Bomber.

You say, “Maybe there’s another way to open this thing?”

Lightning says, “How?” She draws her naginata, grinning. “Maybe we could-“

“No.” You look over to the walls, looking at the inscribed lines. “Maybe that’s the way?”

Mr. O’Donnell walks up to the lines. “Interesting. It looks like the circuitry Howard Hughes showed off at the World Fair some time ago.” He says, “Maybe if we were to somehow turn it all on…”

You walk up to the wall, then brush your hand along the circle. It immediately brightens up into a glowing blue. You step back as the line it feeds into starts glowing then ends in the light at the ceiling. “Bomber, Lightning. Do what I did, just now.”

Lightning and Bomber start running their fingers on the circles. The entire room starts getting bathed in a blue glow as the lines and the circles start lighting up. You can even hear the faint humming sound, possibly of a machine.

Finally, there’s no more circles to run your hands on. You walk up to the sarcarphogus then run your hand on it. The lid splits in two, then slide off, revealing the mummified husk of the Unknown Pharoah. Gripped in his dusty dead hands is a book, plain and unassuming.

Mom and Mr. O’Donnell stand over you, shocked. “… the Shepherd’s Journal,” says Mom. Mr. O’Donnell grins.

Mr. O’Donnell shrugs. “Atlantean is a simple language that all languages derive from. A mother language so to speak, so if you were to communicate in Atlantean, given some time and effort, you may be able to discern features of Spanish, French, Norwegian, German, English. The writing is a bit more complicated but it can be deciphered.” He points to a page of writing. “See here? The writing goes left to right, but the next line goes right to left, then the next goes left to right. Like the flow of water.”

Mom nods. “Mr. O’Donnell has excellent experience with language. The Shepherd’s Journal is our key to finding Atlantis.”

“That is why-“ Oh no. No no no no no. You all look to the entrance to see those four again. Guns cocked, behind them stands the Storm Ace and a contingent of Gegenmagischtruppen. Knives says, “-we’d like to have it.”

Lightning asks, “How the hell did you find us?” Bomber, Mom, and Mr. O’Donnel point their guns at the Nazis.

Rapier says, “We have our sources.” She points to the book in Mr. O’Donnell’s hand. “Now, give us the book.”

You say, “Like hell we will! Remember the last time we were in this situation?”

Knives frowns, saddened. “Oh, won’t you do it for the one that you love, Liberty?”

Lightning looks at you, confused. “What’s she talking-“

“Shut up,” you say. “We’re not giving this book and-“ Click. You look over to see Mr. O’Donnell pointing his Tommy Gun gun at Mom. You blink. “M-Mr. O’Donnell?”

“How could you?” growls Mom.

Mr. O’Donnell frowns. “I’m sorry, Carol. But you know what they say, myths are just history waiting to be uncovered.” He holds up the book for emphasis. “And this, this might be the key to helping prove the Aryan Race’s superiority.”

Mom glares at him. “O’Donnell, you’re an Irish American posing as a Kurdish Merchant and you’re giving me this Thule Society Ahnenerbe bullshit!?”

“Yes,” says Mr. O’Donnell. “I’m sorry it has to be this way.” He walks, keeping his gun pointed towards you all. He hands the book over to Knives, who grins, flipping through it.

“Excellent,” says Knives. “Our good master will be pleased to have this. As for you- well, we don’t particularly need you so…” The Gegenmagischtruppen and the Storm Ace raise their guns. “Kill them, except for Liberty. I want her alive.”

You’re about to spin your shields up, then a bit of rubble hits your shoulder.

Everyone looks up at the ceiling as it begins cracking shattering. The stone starts disintegrating. Then you see a huge metallic machine bust down from the ceiling, glowing and hovering, the light focuses like a spotlight down on you all.

That light wasn’t a light. It was the Guardian.

“Move!” you yell as the Guardian’s great big eye starts shooting lasers everywhere. Gegenmagischtruppen are disintegrated into ash as they fire back. “Hey!” you yell. Knives looks at you as she stands, shocked.

You punch her in the face, flooring her and sending the book flying into the air. Lightning hops and catches it. “Yoink!”

The other three Nazi girls yell to pursue you as run into the room.

All of you start running and running, passing by shocked and confused Magisch Korps troopers as you make a break for the exit.

You finally reach the open air of the Nile River, only to see the Kleine Fraulein materialize in the air above you, and then open its cargo bay doors. “Look out!” yells Mom as a huge package drops. The sides of the box collapse to reveal a Panzer IV with a giant energy cannon accompanied by a squad of Storm Elite.

> Hijack the Tank (99)

You rush at the tank, shields brought to bear against their fire. Their energy cannon depresses to face you, then fires, a huge glob of energy flying at you. It splashes over your shield and burns the grass and ground around you.

A Storm Elite rushes at you, you kneecap him then uppercut, sending him flying. Another comes along, but is swiftly decapitated by Lightning. You hop up onto the front of the tank, the Commander is turned out of the cupola. He cocks his pistol and tries to take a potshot and misses. You grab him by the neck and toss him into the river. The Crocodiles immediately feast on him.

Bomber hops in before you, and you hear the faint sound of gunfire and Nazis screaming. She pokes her head out of one of the side turret hatches. “We’re good! Hop in!”

You hop into the Commander’s seat, Bomber taking gunner while Mom sits in the Radio and Lightning takes the driver’s seat. “Lightning, you know how to drive?”

“How hard could it be?” she yells.

You shut the cupola hatch down and lock it, then look through the slits. The Nazis are exiting the entrance. You see the Four along with Mr. O’Donnell running out. The Storm Ace notices that you’ve taken the vehicle apparently, and he aims his weapon at you.

“Bomber, bring the turret around!” You reach for one of the glowing shells then quickly smash it into the breech. “Mom! Get on the Hull MG! Start suppressing!”

The tank orients towards the entrance, then turns its turret at the group of Nazis. The Storm Ace, O’Donnell and the Four Nazis run while the Gegemagischtruppen stand their ground. They fire their weapons at you, their bullets plinking harmlessly off your hull.

“Prepare to fire!” you yell.

Bomber says, “Target sighted!”

“Fire!” you yell.

Smoke jets into the turret as the gun fires. The Magic troopers are disintegrated in the blue fiery explosion, along with blowing the entrance into nothing but a pile of rubble. “Wooo!” yells Lightning. “We’re Tank Aces now, girls!”

You look through the hatch slits. Where are they?

Then the side turret hatch is punched right through, The Storm Ace’s hand grabs you, almost crushing your arm with sheer power.

> Shake him off! (87)

“Lightning! Shake this guy off!” you yell as he starts pulling you. You slam into the side of the turret, spreading your arms to keep yourself in.

Lightning yells, “We’re in a tank! What do you want me to do? Travel backwards in time before he punched a hole in the tank!?”

Okay, that’s actually a good point. “Bomber! Traverse the turret!”

Bomber starts spinning the horizontal turret drive. The turret starts spinning to the left as Lightning begins reversing away. You yell in pain as the Storm Ace tries for a better grip on your hair. You fruitlessly try punching him in the wrist. Then the Storm Ace’s grip starts tightening as he falls off the tank’s side.

“I got an idea!” yells Lightning. She begins back the tank up into the river. You can feel the water splash over the engine block.

“What are you doing!?” yells Mom.

“… I said I had an idea not that I had a plan!” yells Lightning back.

The Storm Ace’s grip suddenly disappears as he lets go and withdraws his arm from the hole.

Phew. That was close.

Then he punches a hole into the top of the turret. He grips onto the hole’s edge then rips the roof open, turning your tank into an open-top assault gun of sorts. He stands over you, tossing his gun away, then draws a huge machete, glowing with anti-magical energy.

> Defend from the tank! (46)
> Drive, Lightning! DRIVE FOR OUR LIVES!

You hold your shields up as an improvised ceiling. “Lightning! Drive!”

“Where?” asks Lightning. The tank is now fording the river in reverse.

“I don’t care where, just drive!” you yell. The Storm Ace punches your shield, creating a serious imprint of his fist into it. He grips the rim and throws it aside, exposing you. You try to throw your shield, only for him to grab you by the neck and toss you onto the engine block. He raises his machete for a swing.

“Hey! Tough guy!” He looks back to see Bomber with an M2 Browning mounted on the turret. “Eat this!”

He gets a chestful of magical lead, only being pushed back slightly. He steps forward and backhands Bomber, knocking her back in the tank.

You sit up, wiping your face. Then you see it in the water, skulking.

Hello old friend.

You stand up and bring your shields up. You yell as you charge him. He turns around just in time for you to push him back, letting him lose his footing and be pushed right into the water.

You stand there, panting. That was close. You’re about to walk over to the turret before you hear a huge slam. The Storm Ace is back, trying to climb aboard. You ready your shields.

Then he shows up.

>> LEGENDARY PREDATOR <<
>> GUSTAVE <<

The Croc slams his jaws around the Storm Ace before he knew what him. The Storm Ace flails and slashes machete on the Croc’s upper jaw before he’s taken down into the drink.

“Liberty! Come on!” yells Bomber. You hop back in just as the tank finishes fording the river. Lightning orients away from the river and begins driving the hell away. Bomber sets up position on the turret and begins firing away, smashing the Kleine Fraulein’s engine nacelles and suppressing any attempt at pursuit.

What shall you do?

You look over, Lightning looks over to you slowly and grins nervously. “Might have kept a few coins for myself.”

You sigh and shake your head. “We’re headed back now. Be prepared to make a speedy escape though, the Nazis were just here, they might try and follow us.”

“Alright,” says Jeanine. “I’ll have the engines warmed up and ready.”
