[Healed 1 HP] [Recovered 2 Essence]

Yesterday was a horrible day.

You slowly force yourself awake, not out of any feeling of restfulness or natural "waking up" process but because of the uncomfortable sensation of being touched and pricked with needles during your sleep.

You're still in the improvised infirmary on the Bloodshark, the admiral ship of your (improvised) pirate fleet. Now landlocked in Tianna's Wyld zone, but you should have brought enough iron on board to feel a bit safe.

Zaan has peeled the blankets away and, as your bleary eyes slide him into focus, you slowly notice he's suturing the wound open in your chest. Both your hands are bandaged as well, as is your head. You feel the fresh aroma of herbal remedies and medicines hanging in the humid air of the ship's belly.

"Oh. Welcome back, Maka." The Lunar smiles his characteristic sawtoothed grin. You see that he's not in perfect conditions himself, having some black and blue bruises on his chest, neck, and forehead. "You had me worried."

You look around the room. Tia, your Lunar Mate who was sleeping in your same bed, is nowhere to be seen. Prince Samiel's bed is also empty.

"Where... where did everyone else go?" You mumble.

"Wellll..." He averts his eyes. "Your crew is all here. They repelled a minor Fae counterattack a few hours ago with Samiel's help. Just a few hobgoblins, probably something improvised without any leadership behind it. Talon is out there fighting a three-headed... thing, deeper into the Wyld. We took out another Noble while you were resting, by the way. That means that this Tarien Dorian character now only has one retainer left, though we still don't know where his main fortress is."

"...Tia?" You ask.

He sighs. "...Tia went out on her own, into the Wyld. She was... very upset. Angry." He scratches his forehead, troubled. "I've never seen her so angry. Granted, I haven't known her for long. But I wouldn't want to be in the shoes of any fae she comes across right now."

"Did she say anything?"

He pauses. "Only three things. "I'm sorry". "I'll kill them all". And "I'll protect her". That's all." He frowns, looking at you, but saying nothing more, waiting for your response.

>Who are we?
Maka, an exiled noble recently Exalted as a Zenith-caste Solar. She's in the western city of Tianna as a guest of queen Amata (DB), an old friend. Abyssals are targeting the city for conquest, Lintha pirates have infiltrated it with spies and agents, and half the island is controlled by paranoid Lunars. Fun times.
During the invasion of Tianna's Wyld-ridden swampland (as a favor to the Lunars of the Three Rivers circle), you and Tia, your slightly psychotic Lunar Mate, almost feel prey to a particularly manipulative Fae's mindgames. As you wake up after passing out from your wounds, you find out that the battle is far from over...

>Solar? Zenith? I don't know Exalted...
This quest is as newbie-friendly as possible, and I want it to work as a newbie's intro to Exalted. If you have ANY question, ask in thread. For the setting, google "1d4chan exalted".

>Archive?
http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/archive.html?tags=zenith

>System?
Dicepool-like system. When performing an action, everyone rolls 1d10 when posting. the first X rolls are considered, where X is equal to attribute + ability. Yes, this means that the more people are posting, the stronger Maka is, up to a limit of her attribute + ability.

>XP?
Attributes cost [current score x5] xp. Abilities cost [current score x3] xp, except Zenith costing [(current score x3) -1]. Charms cost 10 xp, except for Zenith-based charms (related to charisma and physical/mental fortitude) which cost 8 xp. At the end of every "session" (thread) you will be presented with a list of possible acquisitions.

You take a deep breath, rolling over in the bed. "I should probably rest until I get back all of my Essence. I burned a lot."

"Join the club." He replies, pulling the blankets back on you. "I and Talon have basically been taking turns up to now. Which means progress is slow. No one was expecting the Fae to have this much resources-"

"You've woken up!" You hear Regis' voice as h opens the door and rushes in, up to your bed, looking very worried. "Are you alright? Is everything fine? What happened? Where did Tia go?"

"...Give me a moment, Regis." You try and calm down your little butler and focus back on Zaan. "...So, what's the overall situation?"

"Lava, inundation and the action of our god and spirit allies, combined with the defeats we inflicted over the Wyld's hobgoblins and behemoths, has cut down the swamp to about half its original size. I don't think it's possible to make it any smaller with our current resources. The only way we'll be pushing it back is over several years of orderly settlement, city planning, thaumaturgical iron seals - long-term stuff."

"And in that portion of Wyld there's still two fae nobles, and their main stronghold." You mumble. "What are your and Talon's intentions on this?"

"Talon is pretty adamant. He wants the Fae slain or out of the island, and all the Wyld reconverted to Creation in the long term. And I'm with him."

"What drives him so much?" You ask.

He pulls up a chair. "...Did you ever hear from Talon or Tia about the Thousand Streams River Project?" You shake your head. "Than you need to know."

"...It's not like I'm going anywhere." You say, as Regis climbs onto your bed and sits on the ledge, eager to learn more as well.
>>
>>30950826

Hello, EF! I was wondering, how would have the last session went without IPP?
>>
"A concept that some Lunars agree on is that there is a need to restructure human society."

"...What do you mean?" That statement is both vague and loaded as hell. "Why?"

"Because it doesn't work." He points out. "The Realm is the world's superpower, and it has proven time and again to be corrupt and dysfunctional as hell. And no Threshold nation has shown, this far, any promise. The Thousand Streams River Project aims at the creation of a new kind of society. One that doesn't need the Exalted."

"...But Exalted are working towards it?"

"At first. But only at first. The idea is to build a society that can rule itself, in a just, egalitarian manner. Then hide in the shadows and let them take care of themselves. Because..." he takes a deep breath and smiles grimly. "...Because we aren't exactly the most reliable people, we Exalted. Sometimes we fly off the handle. Sometime our power drives us to madness. Because maybe the world would have been better off without us."

"Is that what you believe?" You ask, neutrally.

"I have not a vested interest in the Thousand Streams River Project, but I have promised Talon that I would have assisted him. I honestly don't know how far he believes in its ideals, but I know he wants to, over time, forge the northern tribes into a proper nation that will fit into his idea of how a nation should be." He looks up to you. Regis does, too.

It doesn't, but, for example, Maka is built to be a charismatic and inspiring leader bar more skilled than any mortal could be.

Bronze was always a 95% majority, Gold faction was just a few Solar apologists.

Only recently, as Solars have been returning, Gold faction has started to grow and gain influence.

There are also Independents, who just want to concentrate on the properly Sidereal work, and apparently a few Sids have formed a "Silver Faction", that supports the Thousand Streams Project and sometimes help Lunars, but they work in secret.
>>

"...Well, I don't... I don't know. He obviously put more thought in this than I did." You reply. "But..."

"But?" He seems interested to know about your doubts on the matter.

"...But, well, both the Exalted and the mortals are human. We are more powerful, but... we have the same flaws. I don't really know if such a plan is a good or a bad idea, but I'm sure mortals can be as evil, or as good, as we can be."

He nods.

"Besides, leading from the shadows has never been my calling." You grin.

"The return of the Solars has really wrecked the Project for a lot of Lunars, for that reason." He nods. "You're meant to be, you're MADE to be shining heroes, examples for humanity. To lead from the front, to inspire, to stir hearts and minds. That doesn't work particularly well with the Thousand Streams, you can guess."

"So... I think I'll sleep a bit. I can't be of any use like this. I have to rest and recover my Essence." You tell him. "...Can I ask you to look around for Tia for me?"

"Sure." He nods. "That girl can be a handful, I imagine. I was going to get out there anyway. Samiel should hold the fort until you feel better, and Flow is trying to carve a path from the sea to here to regroup."

"What about those two gods?" You ask, trying to not giggle as you remember their antics.

"Probably the same. Until we can move the ship again, this is our rally point. I've managed to create an island of stable Creation all around it, and it should hold for a while." He stands up and turns to the (repaired) door. "You can rest."

"I'll keep guard!" Regis cheerfully promises, pulling an iron knife from his belt.

"...Thank you." Feeling safe, you slowly drift back to sleep.

[Healed 1 HP] [Full Essence Recovery]

You wake up some time later, feeling more rested. Your wounds still hurt, but Zaan's treatment seems to have sped up your recovery by quite a bit: most of them are scarring and quickly closing up.

You stand up from bed and unravel your bandages, waking up Regis in the process.

"I wasn't sleeping!" He shouts, startled.

"...It's okay, Regis. Nothing happened." You calm him down, amused. "Though I should probably get dressed..."

After losing both your tabard and the gossamer clothes you had stolen from Garnet, your total wardrobe right now amounts to a pair of armored gauntlets and nothing else, in fact

And it's not like the ship is going to have a vast selection of clothes, you imagine.

You send Regis on an errand to find you some clothing, which in turn draws the attention, once the words spreads, of... pretty much the entire crew.

They waste no time in finding, scrounging, some skilled sailors actually making you some improvised outfits, and commenting and giving advice on what you should wear.

I was thinking a heart shaped sun with angels flying around it.
>>
Rolled 3

>>30952156
No, we never figured out an anima banner. Personally, I would like for it to feature regalia of some kind. A blazing sun as a shield, a golden-white crown, that kind of thing. Something that could be turned into a coat of arms.

The amount of free clothing and fabric accessible to you on board is colorful but the craftsmanship is limited, even considering how eager to provide you the crew is.

Some fans of your previous "jacket and boots" look vouch for wearing a long coat. Other produce clothing more fitting for a male pirate, which you unfortunately have to reject because it would fit you badly (except for the barechested varieties, which you do consider for a while).

But then, you decide on a colorful silken shawl, in red and yellow and with hanging blue gemstones, which you drape around your neck like an oversized scarf so it hangs over your chest, and then partially wrap the rest around your head like a turban.

As for the lower body, a suspicious pair of panties are produced. You have to wonder who kept them and for what reason, but still, without many other options, you try them on. They're quite a bit too small for you.

Agreed. I'm thinking a hybrid of papal and royal coats of arms, but with Exalted/Zenith symbolism and imagery. Let's see what the Zenith symbols are supposed to be...

>Anima Banner:Zenith Caste Solars bear large, bright-gold circular caste marks. Their animas are a brilliant, burning white or a majestic gold.

>Associations:The season of summer, the colors of gold and cobalt blue, the southern direction, the element of earth, the half moon and the Maiden of Serenity

>Sobriquets:Resplendent Suns, Pillars of the Sun, Solar Thunder, Golden Bulls, Hammers of Heaven, The Blasphemous (derogatory)

So, white, gold, cobalt, the South, earth, the half moon, summer, pillars, thunder, bulls, and hammers are all things strongly associated with the Zenith caste.

I think we can make a coat of arms from that.

You tie some iron plates over your gauntlets, replace the panties with a short skirt made from some of that elegant fabric draped around your waist and tied to one side, and head upstairs on the deck (while some passed-out pirates are forced to stay in the infirmary).

"Maka." You find Samiel upstairs, talking with Alexei, Rubeni and Quint. "...They told me that a lot of stuff happened while I was passed out. I'm sorry."

"...Don't be." You reply. "I'm the one I knocked you out in the first place. But anyway: I'm heading out. I'm worried Tia might do something stupid. I need you to stay here and defend the ship: Flow and Smoke might be here soon. This is our gathering point: defend it."

Everyone steps forward.

Some of them step back.

"Transforming your small intestine into snakes, turning your eyes to glass, bugs crawling under your skin, your nails growing inside your fingers... Ok, you're down to ten volunteers now. You guys, get some extra weapons and armor, the iron talismans of protection Zaan made, and move out."

A few minutes later, everyone is ready. You climb down from the ship's hull and walk into the Wyld, focusing your mind on your own reality.

Your men, a mix of pirates from all three crews, are festooned with a variety of iron weapons and carry some armor, mostly light chain. They crowd around you nervously as you push out of the small island of Creation centered on the Bloodshark, and back into the damp, dark swamp.

Mental + Zenith = 6 9 6 8 2 9 = 3 successes

You carefully explore your surroundings. The ground is a sludgy mix of soil, dead grass, and dirty water. Dark, gnarly dead trees stretch their limbs to the overcast sky.

You're not sure how following tracks works in the Wyld, or even if it works, but what else can you rely on?

The fact that there are fishes made of liquid glass swimming in the water, and around you flutter butterflies whose delicate wings are expertly crafted from tiny bits of human skin mounted on a silver wire frame, is not reassuring on the logic of this place.

However, after you and your men have searched around a while (and found some even stranger things), you stumble into a shattered bone knife and a bit of dark red blood spattered on a tree.

A bit further ahead, a cut on a tree's trunk, like an axe blow missing the mark.

"I think we're on the right track, boss." One of the pirates mentions, handling the knife in his hands. Another pirate slaps it out of his hands. "Don't touch that stuff."

As you follow the track in the thicker part of the forest, you come across a shattered tree covered in blood.

No, not shattered - it's been cleanly cut in half by a single blow. The cut is perfect, with no splintering.

"Something tells me she's passed by here."
"You don't say."

Less than twenty meters from there, you stumble into a massive pile of hacked bodies of hobgoblin lizardmen, most of which look like they've been passed through a very sharp blender. There are bits scattered everywhere.

"Alright, yeah. You're right. DEFINITELY been through here."
"Told ya."
"Shut up, you two."
"Are they... dead?"
"What do you THINK, genius?"

From here on, it's very easy to see the rest of the track. Just follow the cut trees: she basically blazed a trail.

You wonder if she did that to leave a track on purpose, or she was just venting.

Mental + Twilight = 8 6 4 10 = 3 successes

By now you're quite paranoid of fae trickery. You order your men to stand back, and approach the corpse pile.

The bodies are slowly melting and vanishing, returning to the stuff of the Wyld. Despite this odd behaviour, it seems to be nothing more than a giant pile of corpses.

Looking around better, you find the distinctive footprints of Tia's stiletto boots into the soft ground. It was definitely her.

Nothing you find in there seems suspicious, so you decide to move out, with your volunteers, along the path.

You keep travelling following the trail for about a hour (you THINK - it's hard to gauge the passing of time here) until you reach a more open, less forested plain, where the ground is more solid - more grassland than forested swamp. Of course, purple grass is kind of unusual, but you've seen worse in this crazy realm.

However, you hear and see, moving through the fog, not much further ahead, what appears to be a rather large party - which is, doubtlessly, partially made up of hobgoblin lizardmen, as you recognize their distinctive vocalizations.

not quite. 7 is 'standard' difficulty out of combat, 6 is 'standard' in it. But depending on how easy or hard something is, that difficulty can be raised or lowered, and sometimes multiple successes are also needed, even though one successful die roll normlly gives you an average success
>>
>>30953589
Per die:
Rolled 7-9 = 1 success
Rolled 10 = 2 successes

Now, if no successes are rolled for a given action, but at least one 1 is we botch, sort of like a critfail.

Most actions require some number of successes to be rolled and the outcome is affected by the number of extra successes we rolled or failed to roll.

Sidereal Exalted. Solars are the chosen of the Sun, Lunars of the Moon, and Sidereals of the Stars - the Maidens of Fate, specifically. They get powers based around manipulating fate/probability/physics. They can do things like hide in teacups, shoot a handful of sand out of a bow, and dodge by having always been having tea all afternoon instead of fighting you in the first place.

In-character, almost no humans in Creation remember they exist, because they broke the part of reality that lets people remember they exist. Exalts have less of a problem with this, and gods don't have any problem remembering them at all. Still, there's basically a 100% chance we've never heard of them in-character.

They work as secret agents/ninjas for the Bureau of Destiny in Heaven.

Any other questions?

The Sidereals are the Exalted of the Five Maidens of Destiny: Mercury, the Maiden of Journeys, Venus, the Maiden of Serenity, Mars, the Maiden of War, Jupiter, the Maiden of Secrets, and Saturn, the Maiden of Endings. There are only 100 of them, and they oversea the Loom of Fate in Heaven, which directs destiny for Creation.

Because of their connection to Fate, they're particularly good with Charms that bend reality. They also have impressive martial arts.

There are plenty of people in this quest who don't know anything about the Exalted setting. I had a feeling that might be the joke, but I wasn't going to risk letting an honest question go unanswered, mate.

It was definitely funny, though.

You order your men to stop and lay low.

Form out of the fog emerges a group of lizardmen. They're carrying, by hand or on pulled carts, boxes, chests and bags of various types. An enormously muscular monster with two deer heads grafted on an oversized human body accompanies them.

At the back of the column, a fae apparently made up entirely of a mass of water (or some other liquid, given the distinctly blue tint) held together in human shape is riding on a small but elegant black sedan chair carried by four of the largest lizardmen of the group, apparently made of lacquered wood.

"...Halt." she orders, stopping her entire group. The lizardmen drop their baggage and draw weapons nervously. "I can see you." the Fae says. "Come out, I have no intention to fight. I'd like to have a word with you."

You emerge from your (apparently insufficient) hiding place. The lizardmen snarl, but stand still. Your men follow you out of hiding, clenching their weapons and making superstitious gestures.

"What do you want." You hiss. "Where is Tia?"

She blinks. "I can assume that Tia is the Exalted currently carving a bloody swath across the swamp?"

You nod.

"Oh, so she's the one I'm trying to run away from."

You nod.

"Well..." The fae brushes back her liquid hair. "I've decided to call it quits. Dorian was a good lord, but he's too tied to this place to know when he should give up. I've managed to wrestle myself free from his control, and now I have every intention to leave the wreck you've made of my place and find another home. You win, Exalted. The Fae do not have emotions, they are just a hungry reality maw, they fake emotions and stuff with graces, that are objects.

The Hearts Grace is their Will. Without it they have no free will and they have the will of the one who has it to a greater or lesser degree depending on interpretation.

With that line of logic everything is the fault of the Primordials, in the end

not really. The gods murdered a bunch of dudes that can exert considerable influence after being dead. It's not the fault of the watch dogs that can't see over the fence, that these dead people are leaking gas into the lawn. It is more a direct fault of the original murderers though that these dead people want revenge.

There was no guarantee that the Path of Gold would have destroyed the world, but it was directly the fault of the Usurpation that the Deathlords exist, and even without them life in the Shogunate was significantly worse than life under the Deliberative. For one, since mortals could no longer have a chance of being your next life, life got significantly worse for them.

At least the Lunars have been trying to make Creation a better place. The Sids are swamped just trying to keep it from getting worse.

Your raise a finger, pointing straight at her.

"I really, really, REALLY want to kill you." You inform her.

"That seems to be the mood, yes." She notes, unamused.

"...But there's one thing that I want more than punching you, and it's to find that damn fortress, and Tia. Tell me how to get to there, and I'll let you through."

"Oh, is that all?" She asks, sounding a bit surprised. "Follow the trail your friend carved. You should end up at my freehold, or what's left of it I guess. From there, follow the Red Road until you reach the roots of the Starleaf Tree. The tree is the center of the swamp: from there you can easily reach any place you wish. But first, you'll have to best its guardian. You look capable enough, though."

"...Do all directions in the Wyld HAVE to be this messed-up?"

"What do you mean, messed-up? It makes perfect sense." She grins. "Well then, I'll be going."

"Wait." You block her. "Swear that you're not going to harm anyone or anything as long as you're on Tianna, and that once you abandon the island you'll never come back. Of course this includes your servants as well, and includes especially eating or damaging people's souls."

She blinks. "I swear."

"Swear properly."

She sighs. "You're a smart one, are you? Fine, but you'll also have to swear that I won't be harmed as long as I'm here. I'm no longer a combatant, after all. Not just that you won't harm me: Swear that you'll do your best to keep people like your crazy friend off my back."

I'm not saying that we should try to recruit her now. I'm saying Listen to what people are saying. Look at >>30955657 do you see him supporting getting a pet fae somewhere down the line?
>>
>>30955628
So you don't mind allying with an evil god as long as we can put a leash on it, but you throw a tantrum when we can get a fae to swear it won't hurt anyone on the island? It didn't even ask for human sacrifices.
>>
For fucks sake. Stop pretending objective morality is a thing in exalted.

Not this shit again. Can we please just stop the pointless moralfag bitch sessions already?

Please hurry back, EF.
>>
>>30955594
Again, you're confusing EVIL with Prideful and Hungry. Is Dancing Smoke a good god? No, but she isn't out to destroy creation, end all sentient life or even comit genocide. It say she's selfish neutral with a little crazy from loneliness thrown in. The fae are pretty much destructive anthropomorphized pure chaos, so again not exactly EVIL, but a hell of a lot closer and not something we can rehabilitate to be useful.

No anon, just don't respond to any volcano god post, it kills the threads

Because you can't fucking trust a Fae. You can't. You can deal with gods and shit, you can change them, but you can't change Raksha. They're not of Creation. It's just

Fucking... you know what? Nevermind. I'm fucking done with this whole thing. It's been one trainwreck after another. I'm goddamn done.

We can expect Dancing Smoke to not to stab us in the back unlike the one here.

Not what most fae actually want. Most shaped have gotten used to creation and like it too much to really want to destroy it. They couldn't go back to the deep wyld even if the wanted.

This is the oldest trick in the book. Have someone betray the PC, watch as the players' paranoia causes them a disatvantage. Then watch them become super trusting and betray them again.

"Alright. I swear." You reply after some hesitation.

"Swear properly." She replies, using your exact same tone of voice of when you said that to her. "If I have to swear a binding oath that well-worded and that specific, you'll have to swear one too. This swamp is crawling with mortals, gods, spirits and Exalted of your alliance, and I don't want to get in any trouble. I just want to exist peacefully. And, I gave you what you wanted for free and with no guarantees on your part, after all, did I not?"

"...What do you want me to swear?"

"I and my associates will not harm you and your associates, and you and your associates will not harm me and my associates, as long as I remain in this swamp and for five days after I've left. When I leave, I will spend those five days entirely travelling away from this island to the best of my abilities, and will never return afterwards." She words, in a very detailed way, as she draws from out of her body a short, curved knife apparently made of beautiful transparent glass. It might look like Chiaroscuran glass, but the craftsmanship is quite different, and unparalleled. The substance reflects all of the hues of the rainbow.

"...What's that for?" You say, eyeing the weapon suspiciously.

"Proof that I won't hurt you. I'll relinquish my weapon. All my servants will do the same. Of course, that would leave us defenseless, so I expect you to defend us."

"ME? I should defend YOU?" You ask, surprised at her statement.
>>
"Or I guess you could leave us our weapons? Your choice. But in any case I don't want to be hurt. Either you leave me able to defend myself, or if you don't trust me, you defend me."

"Even if I make an oath for myself, I can't promise anything for the other members of the alliance." You point out.

"Then just promise for yourself. That you'll do your absolute best, short of physical violence, to protect us from them."

You try and calm your mind down, and focus. It's a gut feeling, but you don't think that she has any way of enforcing an oath on you. Your Integrity-Protecting Prana should prevent that. She knows that, of course, so you can only assume that she expects you to keep your word out of honesty rather than any sort of supernatural enforcement.

Should we follow them back? Now that we know where the boss is, we should get reunited with the rest of the forces, and didn't she say that Tia is following them? That's our best chance to find her, I think.

Her oath is 'not going to harm anyone or anything as long as you're on Tianna, and that once you abandon the island you'll never come back. Of course this includes your servants as well, and includes especially eating or damaging people's souls'

Which boils down to leave and never come back, good enough?
>>
Just a quick reminder for everyone:

Raksha do not have actual feelings. She is not actually making a decision to leave, she is just playing out a part. She can change that decision at any time. Especially when it seems to be the most fortuitous for the sake of story.

You are all playing into her story by dealing with her.

I know this choice seems a bit coldblooded, but we are once again falling for its sweet words and getting swayed by the context.

We need to get rid of the Raksha for the good of Creation. It is why we came here. It would be far preferable to ignore its words and attack here.

This deal it is offering us is advantageous to it.

I'm not interested in burning essence to kill a fay, i'm interested in getting this fay out of our hair and finding Tia.

Letting the fay walk away is the simplest solution.
>>
>>30956876
This, I know we got burned by Garnet before, but that was partially our fault for leaving it as such a shitty oath, if a raksha swears something she'll do it, I want her gone with no time wasted, I'd be okay with her keeping her weapon and jus swearing not to hurt anyone
>>
>>30956876

Why did Tia run out in the first place? Because fae tricked us. Garnet swore to love us and then put us in a chunk of ice while setting off Tia.

He seemed very convincing until that happened even to the point of getting stabbed for us.

We are definitely going to regret it if we do not resolve this situation here.

That situation proved that words are useless because the fae will just reframe them to whatever it suits them the most.

This dagger she is giving us is probably not its Sword grace.
>>
"...Alright." You hiss.

"Silk." She says.

"...Pardon?"

"It's my name. Silk." She says, holding her glass knife between two of her slimy fingers. With a bit of pressure, she shatters it, and it explodes in a million fragments.

All of her hobgoblins immediately drop their weapons.

"And by my name, and by the cup and sword and ring and staff, I swear to not do harm within Tianna, and up to five days after leaving it, like we agreed, as long as your side of the oath is kept."

You sigh tiredly. "...And I swear that I will defend you from my allies, like we agreed, as long as your side of the oath is kept."

"I can only imagine you met Garnet." Silk replies, slowly sinking into her sedan chair with a satisfied look on her face.

"You know him, I imagine." The hobgoblin pick up their luggage again and begin marching away.

"Yes. He's a tricky bastard." She says, assuming a more comfortable position, reclining back.

"Doesn't that count for all fae?" You wonder.

"We are what we want to be." She replies enigmatically as your two groups pass each other along the way.

"So what do YOU want to be?" You ask her back, without bothering to look at her.

"Relaxed." She mumbles as her group vanishes into the fog.

no, it proves that very poorly chosen words are useless. EVERYONE with 2 braincells saw the giant loophole in his oath

>EVERYONE with 2 braincells saw the giant loophole in his oath

If you look hard enough, you can find a loophole in anything.
>>
>>30957009
I'm a bit confused. Did we promise to protect her but then go in the opposite direction of her group? Or are we just to tell everyone else not to attack her and defend her short of violence if we're around when she meets one of our allies?
>>
>>30957099
That doesn't excuse us falling for it.
>>
Rolled 4

>>30957099
and Fae look hard enough, when they want to. Silk doesn't have a pressing want to be here or hurt us, while Garnet wanted the 'beauty in our soul' to belong to only him, so he decided his love would be so yandere Tia looks rational by comparison
>>
>>30956783
Her expectation might be wrong. Fae can get done in by sloppy wording

Not voting for this, I just want to point out that losing our penultimate health level is not a situation we should ever be putting ourselves at all. It would be a huge mistake, so we should pass on this charm and get something so we do not fall into that situation again.

This charm might be good if we bought 4+ levels of Ox-Body Technique thought.

And don't go for EGT unless we plan on gambling on attacks only doing one damage, there is no chance of us dropping down on the 4th health level, and one roll to regain up to 2 essence is a waste of a charm.

Maybe if it were one roll per health level, but as it is, it's not viable.

You're all making a good point. I didn't think the math behind EGT through.

Making it "1d10 every time you lose a HP", but a 10 is not double.
