"I heard you were talking shit behind my back." You murmur around the bent cigarette you've managed to pull from your Shield's inventory just as Kirika had started flapping her lips around. You have the faintest suspicion that this is going to end with the both of you trying to kill each other again, right here on this very rooftop - or at least, the very convincing simulacra of one, inside the XX Golden Weapon - so you may as well enjoy the peace while it lasts. Get in your barbs while you can.A flick of your wrist, a deep pull, and the tip of your cigarette glows as it starts to burn. You toss your zippo back into your inventory, holding your breath for as long as you can manage it, before releasing both lungfuls of smoke in a double stream of gray fumes through your nostrils. "Do you still get off doing that kind of shit?" You say this louder, harsher, allowing your ire for the crazy bitch that tried to kill you four lifetimes ago. "Like you're still in middle fucking school?""...I don't have the faintest idea of what you're snarling about now." Kirika turns away from you, before tossing what looks like a small, folded paper crane off of the helipad's edge. "What I told her was the truth - if the infamous Murderface can't get any use out of you, you'll be discarded like so much garbage. Or even if she does, she'll just forget about you." She snaps her fingers once. "Just like that."
>>30992964The black-haired Eversor turns again to look at you from the corner of her crimson-pinned black eye, a sneer curling her lips. "Does telling the truth qualify as talking shit now, Murderface? I could have used some other juicy factoids, you know." The eyepatch-wearing Magical Girl cackles, before turning away again and tossing another paper crane down the skyscraper. "Like how you can't uphold a promise worth a damn. Or how you've basically been defanged now, unable to do what needs to be done." She shakes her head. "Many times, you've had the opportunity to give praise to the Blessed Lady by shattering the souls of her enemies. And what do you do, Murderface?"Another paper crane plummets to the ground below. "Nothing. You simply keep them, nurture them. Like you're trying to be something you're not." Kirika fairly spits the words. "Some sort of hero."...Ah. Now you remember why you hate Kirika so much. You know, besides the being a bigger bitch than Sayaka ever was.Kirika just LOVED to talk her fucking mouth off."So whatever the fuck you came here for, Matsuda - I'm not buying. I'm not listening. Be content with using Muramasa as a glorified pigsticker, or throw it into the ocean for all I care." Despite how she's almost purring the words, you can also hear what sounds like weary resignation in Kirika's voice. "Do the Blessed Lady's will with your own hands, or use that puling little whore that thinks you're her big sister." She throws another paper crane off the ledge. "I will never help you."How do you respond? If you don't help me, Oriko is going to die. What makes you think I need your fucking help?Ignore all the other bullshit she said. Ask her about the paper cranes.
>>30992992[X]If you don't help me, Oriko is going to die.
>>30992992[x]What makes you think I need your fucking help? Also, we should kill Orika with the Golden Katana because reasons.
>>30992992>[X] What makes you think I need your fucking help?"I don't need your help. Oriko might. If it wasn't for that, I'd be perfectly happy to throw you in the deepest darkest pit I can find and shit on it."
>>30992992>[x]If you don't help me, Oriko is going to die.
>>30992992>[x] "Oriko needs your help more than me, but if you're content to have her deal with Risa instead of you, then so be it." Then turn and start to walk away. If she don't attempt to continue conversation, then I will eat my headphones.
>>30992992[X]If you don't help me, Oriko is going to die.HOWEVER, I think this should be phrased a bit differently. If its said like that, it comes off as a threat (as in Chiaki threatening to kill Oriko if Kirika does not obey). Might cause her to attack or before we can say anything else.We should instead make it clear that Oriko is now Ahrimans puppet and the only way to have even a chance of saving her is if Kirika starts cooperating.something like this:>>30993074
>>30993094Of course, if you help me, she might still die.Or she might be as good as dead already....dammit we really should have looked into this more thoroughly before we barged in here.Ah well. C'est la mort, or whatever.
>>30992992>[X]Ignore all the other bullshit she said. Ask her about the paper cranes.
>>30993111...you know, I am kinda curious about that.changa ma vote >>30993053
>>30992992[X] Here's the deal Kirika, you wither help me or Oriko gets sacrificed to the blessed lady. She is already most the way there, wielding the golden staff that Ahriman once used, being worn like a skin by her. Won't be long until in order to get more power back she makes her contract
>>30993074I would almost rather use the chainaxes on this. Getting the highscore unlock upgrade thing would be awesome, and the axes are the only one we actually know how to get. And it seems fairly straightforward on top of that. Just kill shit. Shame we actually have a lower chance of getting the highscore even with the headstart Kharn gave us than we have of unlocking one of the other weapons through pure blind luck. Not if you aren't willing to to cooperate with me. That isn't a threat; it is a fact. Because if worst comes to worst and you are still acting like such a bitch, some one is going to die. And I bet you know who."
>>30993238Bah. "...is for." I meant. not like it matters since I missed the vote.
>>30993179Its not really a lie actually. I don't know if Ahriman is fully possessing Oriko, or if its more subtle manipulation, but Oriko is almost certainly being controlled to some degree. Not to mention that the golden weapons always cause corruption, even IF the spirit inside is friendly (and Ahriman is most certainly not)
>>30993314And Oriko is a normal human, we all saw what happened to Killgore.

Notice she's not openly hostile. She's bitter, yes. But what she tells is pretty much right (at least as far as she remembers us, old Murderface was not a nice person). If this conversation turns bad it will be our own fault in the first place, not for coming here now but for drawing assumptions that don't have to be here.

We are the ones looking for a peacefull option here, to the point of trying to work with someone we deeply dislike.
>>30993430"Midori, resolute with pancakes." I see it in that pic and know you wish to draw a one based on that idea. Pls Dan?

Whatever you do, don't get mad at this bitch who's probably just as mad that she got offed by a Vindicare."What makes you think I need your help?" You finally snap at her, a puff of smoke escaping your lips as you all but snarl the words. "Mikuni Oriko needs your help more than I do. She's the reason I'm here in the first place." You turn to spit the filter out, before grinding it into the asphalt with a twist of your heel. "I wouldn't have come here otherwise, you stupid bitch."Silence. Only the faint rustle of another delicate paper crane being tossed over the helipad's edge. A stubborn, obstinate silence, one that didn't even yield so much as a twitch when you said Oriko's name....Christ. This is what she's been reduced to, then? You were hoping that as crazy and vindictive as Kirika had always been, she'd have enough compassion left in her - enough humanity - to actually be concerned about her friend. You decide then and there that no matter hwat, you're never going to become like her. Even if you have to kill yourself first before it happens."...Fine." You shake your head here. "If you're content to have her deal with Risa instead of you, then so be it." You turn sharply on your heel as you make to walk away. "You know how that turned out the first time."Even more silence. A cold, dead one that clanged down on you like solid steel doors, blocking out all sound. You shake your head again, and begin to walk. There's just no helping other people sometimes.[1/2]
>>30993724Kirika say something you bitch. I like my headphones.
>>30993724Does Kirika even know who Risa is?Yuu's the only one who can hop between weapons, right?
>>30993724It's on your third step that Kirika finally speaks up. And when she does, it's with a voice that remarkably doesn't sound like she's sneering, or that she has all the dicks in the world in her mouth. It's with...worry. Concern. And a wariness that you've heard from so many other voices - the wariness of dealing with someone like you."Why, Murderface?" The former Eversor Rank Leader of the Ninth asks. "Why do this? Why come here at all? How do I know I can trust you?"How do you respond?

Can we please stop with the Paladin vs. Edgefag bullshit? This is a tad more nuanced than the "Kill everything ever and eat soulgems like candy" vs. "Peace and love could have redeemed Kilgore and Kirika!".Because both of those positions are fucking retarded and are only held by about one person each who I'm not even sure aren't just shitty strawmen for the other side.
When WAS the last time Chiaki actually killed a human/MG? Kilgore?

I'm not saying we need to go around eating soulgems. I'm not even saying that we should go for kills. I'm saying that people need to stop with this nonsense about incapacitation=killing just because it looks nasty.

>>30994174Yeah, I'm pretty sure Midori just has unrealistically extensive submissive fantasies. Less "Oh man senpai is so cool murders people and doesn't afraid of anything!" and more "It would be so hot if she forced me to have sex with her and used me like an object".That's basically what we saw as the overall plot of MMxMM Volume I. It wasn't Murder Mayumi killing people, it was the idealisation of a relationship with a cold and distant dominant (probably the kind that would eventually open up to Miracle Midori and hint at loving her).
>>30994227But you're whining too.Whiner pls go

>>30994195oh god my sides
>>30994174Yeah. Fantasies generally stop being fun when they become reality.Midori actually learned that for herself in Siberia. As long as their soul gem is not destroyed, then at least 99 times out of a hundred, the Magical Girl is "deprived of life".
I am genuinely intrigued as to what decision recently people are actually upset about?Has anything that people are complaining about actually happened, or is it literally whining about other people's opinions?
>>30994199This is indeed the smart approach.Trying to be a pacifist when people are trying to kill you is stupid. But its equally stupid to want to start killing everyone to fill some hidden "murder-quota".Whats wrong with just reacting to situations in a way that makes sense? Kill when necessary, and avoid killing when its not necessary.
>>30994334because this is /tg/ and that makes far too much sense for most of them?
>>30994334>killing everyone to fill some hidden "murder-quota".Technically it's not hidden anymore. >>30994373To be fair, appellative terminology aside, I suspect NECO has a better understanding of the characters' underlying motivations that I do. I wasn't even talking about what we would do with the soulgems after chainaxing the MGs, so stop trying to inject it into the conversation. It's irrelevant. Though to play devil's advocate for the people that do want to kill the shit out of downed enemies, it will eventually result in the chainaxes getting an upgraded form when the highscore is broken. Whether that powerboost is worth more than Chiaki's becoming a better person thing and whether it's worth risking inter-officio hostilities is another matter entirely. Personally, I think that there's little reason to go for kills against the vast majority of MGs we run into on missions and that we could still probably get the highscore by only killing irredeemable assholes and witches (if we ever see another witch, anyway). Maybe Jyuubey will start some shit and we'll find out that incubators are loadsa points.
>>30994393I don't think we've seen enough of Murder Mayumi as a character to classify whether or not she would fit the classification of a psychopath, and I also don't think that, even if she does, Midori's magical realm bleeds over to that degree into what she would actually want from a relationship.
>>30994418>I...pity? Admire? You for sticking with the threads.I just want to be here when we need to swing a critical vote in the right direction.

This time, you come up empty - and you grumble a curse at no one in particular before shaking your head and trying again. It's in the middle of mid-rummage that you reply. She can't trust you, you tell her, as plainly as you can. Yeah, sure, you'll admit that you're trying to be someone you're not. But the both of you know just what kind of person you really are.For fuck's sake, you wouldn't trust yourself either, if you were in her shoes. With your track record? You could wake up a completely different person tomorrow. And that sucks for you and for everyone else....But at the same time, leaving Oriko the way she is now seems wrong. It's not something you can just look away from, and you know you've looked away from a lot.Doing this seems right. Doing this...it's what someone you're trying to be would do. What someone who you'll never be able to become will do.Silence, again, but as you turn to glance at Kirika - you note that she's looking at you, too. Her one eye looking at you, narrowed - but not in suspicion. Just close, careful scrutiny. As if trying to study you, while at the same time trying to come to a decision. The former Eversor Rank Leader grunts then grunts, before turning back to her paper cranes. No sneering comeback, no snide rebuttal. Just a grunt. You still take it as her capitulation, however, and make to sit on the lip of the helipad as well. Making sure to keep a respectful distance away from Kirika, but close enough to at least talk without shouting.Seems like you can talk a bit more freely now, without trying to hate-fuck each other to death with glares and veiled threats. What's the paper cranes for? You making another wish or something?Still mad I had Kirika retire you? You didn't exactly give me a chance to kill you first.Wait for her to talk first. Let her fill the silence.
>>30994237Theres a difference between roleplay fantasies and actual reality.I could see Midori wanting to roleplay something from MMxMM with Chiaki to spice up her sexlife or something. I figure Chiaki would not have a problem with that. But I seriously doubt Midori actually wants to be viewed as nothing but an object that Chiaki feels absolutely nothing for in actual reality.
>>30994393I honestly figured it was a matter of Midori romanticising it a lot, like high school (and sadly, as 50 Shades proves, middle-aged) girls tend to do over the whole 'aloof dominant' thing. You end up with character traits that would imply someone is socio/psychopathic, but it's only specific aspects that appeal to the author. Then they end up in a relationship with someone who actually behaves like that and realise, holy shit, it's not just the parts I got wet over and I have to deal with the whole abusive package. Which is the realisation that came crashing down on Midori's head in Siberia, I think.
>>30994480Since the meta discussion with Decu from (last?) thread where people asked about the 4-armed mode for the bangles and Decu said that all of the golden weapons have an upgraded mode that is unlocked through their own little requirement. The axes require you to get the highscore. We don't know what any of the others' are, but I suspect that what we're trying to do now with Kirika and Oriko might upgrade Muramasa if we actually pull it off.

>>30994703"Chiaki" is the result of something Malal did to this Homu after she first turned up in the Witches Barrier.>>30994742That probably won't work. Oriko isn't a magical girl, and we have no idea how to put souls in things.

We might actually want to warn Sayaka to keep quiet about this before the practise session with Muramasa. I can only imagine what happens if Sayaka starts talking about killing Oriko while we are dueling her with Muramasa.
>>30994835Oriko is human, not a meguca. I don't know if Kirika would like that either. Should probably find out what she thinks of being stuck in the sword to begin with because if Chiaki suggests that it might just piss her off.

>>30994938Yeah. Looking back, the empty mirror was probably meant as a clue on how to get the DEagle upgrade. Should have realised it sooner. However I don't think Chiaki even knows about the winged-incarnation yet does she? Unless I am mistaken, Midori has not told us what happened in Siberia yet has she? So all Chiaki knows that there is an empty mirror in the DEagle and nothing more.We should try and get Midori to tell us everything, so we can atleast ask the three stooges about winghomu and how to make her cooperate with us.Midori is also aware that the GWs were Madokas secret plan and that Madoka tricked Pinky into creating them. Telling that to the homugroup is probably important.

Overhead, the cloudless blue sky starts to slowly darken, as if trying to signify the passage of time."It's the first to go, you know." After what seems like an age, Kirika rewards your patience by speaking first, her voice barely above a murmur. What is? You prompt her after a while. Keeping your voice as low and as soft as hers, yet loud enough for her to hear."Memories." The former Eversor Rank Leader replies. "You start forgetting things, bit by bit. Things you wouldn't think you'd forget." She picks up a paper crane from the bunch on her lap - and it's here that you realize that she has quite a lot folded up. Probably more than a thousand, each one the size of a small business card. "It's not the long term memories that go, or at least I think so. I still remember my name, and everything I've learned in my tenure." She pauses here, as if hesitating, but deciding at the last second to forge on. "But what you deem the most important to you. What you cherished the most."...Oriko, then?Kirika nods by the smallest fraction of a degree, still looking down on the small piece of origami on her palm. "I've already forgotten what she smells like, Murderface. How soft her skin is. What perfume she uses when we're scheduled to meet somewhere." A sigh. "I've forgotten what her hand feels like when it's holding mine."You watch as she holds out her hand and tips it slowly - letting the paper crane fall in a tumbling plummet. Spiralling down to join the rest of its brothers and sisters down below - wherever they are.[1/2]
>>30995367Yeah but Nana was actually cute to start with.
>>30995392>I've forgotten"I can sympathise."
>>30995392"It's not...quick. You can fight it if you're determined enough. You can delay it." Another paper crane falls. "But it's inevitable, that much I know." It's here that she turns towards you. "This...Risa. The uncouth one who has a skull's grin for a smile. Has she told you anything about her past, besides Kharn?"...Not really, no."What about your surrogate little sister?"She means Yuu? ...She's told you a few bits here and there, but she did say that it's mostly a blur. Yuu did tell you about some fights she'd fought, however.Kirika shakes her head. "She'd remember something like that easily. I'll wager that she won't be able to tell you anything about her family, or any relationship she'd made prior to her getting a Golden Weapon." A quick smile curls her lips, one that doesn't even touch her eyes. "The memories that form a person, Murderface. You lose them, being a ghost in this golden shell."...She seems to remember you well enough, though."You know full and well that's not the same. Idiot."The Eversor sighs again."Soon, I'll forget everything about Oriko. I'm not sure how long I can keep fighting that fate, but I'm trying." Kirika makes a tired gesture at the cranes on her lap. "What I know, though, is I'll be significantly worse when it happens."...How worse?"Worse than you, that's for sure." Apropros of completely nothing, Kirika lets out her trademark cackle. "And what a horrible day that would be."You find yourself smiling despite yourself.Yeah. You can agree there."Horrifying to even consider, us agreeing." Another sigh, another paper crane sent to its doom. "Let's talk specifics, then, Murderface, if you can be bothered to. How do you plan on handling Oriko and her...worshippers?" She tilts her head to the side as she looks at you questioningly, the gesture curiously catlike. "And try to be honest, if you can. I will be able to tell if you're lying or not."How do you reply?

>>30995373Awww.>>30995426[x] Well, you'd planned to separate her from the staff if you can, but beyond that you're basically making shit up at this point. Really, you had hoped for some pointers here on Oriko before laying any intricate plans. And obviously, if things go too shit, or Oriko's too far gone, you can't guarantee her survival.
>>30995426"The plan as it is right now is to kill all of them. We managed to get a seance to her location and we're interrogating some of her followers so it should only be a matter of time. She is holding on to Arihman's golden weapon so she is very dangerous. In the event of an assault, sparing her is going to be very unlikely.I'm hoping that you might be able to get through to her."
>>30995426"I'm going to plow through anyone who wants to threaten me or Mami, but since Oriko's being fucked with by this golden weapon I want to save her from it by any means possible."

>>30995426>She has a golden weapon. I am not sure if she is actively using it, or being used by it. If it's that latter, and that's a big if, then maybe, just maybe, she won't have to die.

>>30995392>>30995426 Pathfinder a shit.
>>30995479Pretty much. We talk big, but we have no fucking idea what we're going to do.
>>30995426"The worshipers all die. No question. I can't leave any more loose ends from the third coming back to kill people me or the people around me. >>30995426[X]"I want to avoid killing Oriko, as for her worshipers, fuck them, they put her in to this situation. I need to get that golden staff away from her. I hoped you could help me."
>>30995426"By the book, kill them all and let Pinky sort them out."
>>30995426>[x] Her worshippers are going to get cut down. Once it's just me and you and her and Ahriman, the best case scenario would be for you to help me convince her to stop all this. If that doesn't work, which it probably won't, then we will need to force her to surrender the staff and capture her to assess the extent of the damage inflicted by using the staff. If you want to talk to her, I'll help you do so. Though, if everything goes to shit... we're going to have to kill her. I hope that doesn't happen. I really hope that doesn't happen because it would defeat the entire point of coming to you for this. If it does happen then maybe she'll end up in here with you. Or not. I got no clue how the fuck these things work anyway.

>>30995367>>30995367>>30995367no no no no no no! Dont make me remember that it triggers my PTSD!
>>30995584Basically I can imagine two likely outcomes.1. Oriko's presence mellows Kirika enough that we can use her acceptably safely.2. Kirika drives Oriko batshit insane and the Orikirika entity tries to rip our spleen out through our nostril
>>30995426"Here's the deal. She has Golden Staff of Ahriman. Either she's using it, or, which I find more likely, it's using her. So separating her from the Staff could work. The issue is, she's precognitive."Sigh."I was kinda hoping to trade you for the Staff with her and see if you can talk it out or something..."
>>30995625Things like "I already made that paper crane I wanted to make"...
Why is there talk of trading a golden weapon for another?
>>30995617wrong post, bro.
>>30995626Or the most likely outcome: she refuses.Seriously, it's never gonna work.

>>30995625So many cranes...
>>30995426[x]"Walk in, kill everyone, walk out?"
>>30995659Then we - Chiaki and Kirika - forcibly remove Ahriman from the premises first. It's about the only circumstances in which Kirika would volunarily agree to aid us.
>>30995647The trade could be THE WORST thing we could do. Decu confirmed that a weapon could overflow us with corruption and take over. What the fuck does anyone think would happen if we held Ahriman for more than 1 second?
>>30995523This. Ask Kirika if she can talk to Oriko and convince her to surrender without violence.
>>30995688Ahriman will deal. She'll have to.It seems likely that corrupting us won't serve her purposes, whatever those are.
>>30995712>whatever those areKilling us. This whole thing is about killing Chiaki. She could just make us stomp our own gem after she corrupts us.
>>30995688Using the Staff of Ahriman right after we get it was never part of the plan, we can trade Kirika for it but still use any of the other three "reliable" weapons.
>>30995685[x]ThisYep. Thats Murderface alright.
>>30995712Gaining the blessed lady's favor. What better first step than to send her shield maiden to her? Or better yet, to BECOME the shield maiden?
>>30995426[x] Walk in, kill the goons, somehow separate Oriko from the staff, try to not get killed myself
So does anyone else find it strange that the Homu herd still got they memories?
>>30995739No, I don't think so.I think Ahriman's possession is a clue as to what she. Bitch wants to live again. And she can't do that if she kills the only person who can hold her staff.
>>30995426Kill all worshippers, restrain her, remove golden wep from the premises.
>>30995768She can't corrupt Chiaki forever. There are limits to that control, especially if we become resistant to it.And doubly so if Blueberry is sitting on our head.
>>30995175No. That was the Transcendent One I believe. The Homucifer that dresses as a slut. The winged-incarnation Midori saw in the barrier was different from Homucifer, though both do have wings. Or atleast thats the impression I got. I will ask Decu if I recall and if there is time for questions at the end.>>30995343Which is why learning what happened in Siberia from Midori is important. If we can tell the three stooges about the winged fragment and that the GWs are a plan of uncorrupted Madoka, then that may help a lot.>>30995800I wonder how much of Ahriman remains though? She died years ago. If Kirika is already losing memories, then Ahriman has probably forgotten a lot more.
>>30995688>The trade could be THE WORST thing we could do>>30995660>retardation.>>30995659>Seriously, it's never gonna work.In other words, a near perfect Murderface plan.Lets do dis.
>>30995833>I wonder how much of Ahriman remains though? She died years ago. If Kirika is already losing memories, then Ahriman has probably forgotten a lot more. That's probably really bad then. Who the hell knows what's motivating her, might even just be blind hate she can't even remember the source of.We should be even more careful of the staff in this case.
>>30995957How long has Yuu been a golden weapon? She's probably a reasonable yardstick.
>>30995995Timeline says she got it 6 years before the quest begins. Not sure when she died, though.
>>30995995Yuu doesn't seem as crazy as Ahriman was though. Ahriman was a nutjob BEFORE she got sealed in that staff, imagine how she is now.Yuu just wants to help and be the best at fighting things. She seems pretty stable too. Even Kirika is stable in the meantime. Maybe someone should bring up the idea of trying to get Oriko in the Katana to stabilize her.
>>30996028Really just trying to figure out if Ariman has been a golden weapon longer. But given that Murderface was THERE when Kharn put an end to Ahriman, the two should have a comparable level of degredation.Son of a bitch. Ahriman forgot the taste of her tea, or something stupid like that, didn't she? That's what she's using Oriko for.
With the powers as Warmaster, have the R&D department find a way to have the MGs in the GWs use it like a SGs.
>>30995688We still have only partially undergone the anti-corruption process. Kubes is making sure we're fit enough - or sane enough - to take the rest.
>>30995957Well, Ahriman is either greatly influencing Oriko or outright possessing her.If I recall correctly, in the Kharn flashback, Ahriman was a fanatic who worshipped "the Blessed Lady". However now her followers seem very anti-pinky. Lucius openly mocked Pinky and condemned Chiaki for using GWs.So Ahriman has either forgotten her previous religious beliefs or feels betrayed since Pinky let her die and even helped Kharn to kill her.I also just realised the amusing hypocrisy of the whole thing. See the quote below from the fight against Lucius."Kh...!" Lucius jumps back, sword held en garde as she puts distance between the both of you. "So this is how the Corrupted Warmaster of the Ninth fights? With her Blessed Lady's sickening gifts?" She shakes her head here, before pointing her weapon at you. "Now I see the truth of it. You are beyond saving, Chiaki Matsuda. Submit yourself to my blade, and an honorable death."And yet, we know that Oriko/Ahriman is the prophet Lucius reveres and she uses the golden staff. I wonder actually if that would be something usable in getting information out of the prisoners. For example, how would the girl Mami is interrogating react if we revealed to her that her prophet is actually so powerfull only because she is using one of the "Blessed Lady's sickening gifts"It also suggests that the prisoners probably don't know all that much about things. Or atleast they don't know that the Prophet has a GW.
>>30995496 >>30995499 >>30995502 >>30995519 >>30995523Standard purge pattern, you reply, taking a page out of Sayaka's book by using Officio language wherever possible. By that you mean, you're going to kill every single person involved with Oriko's little outfit. You're not going to leave anything to chance. No more loose ends, you can't afford another blood vendetta that'll get other people around you involved.Kirika nods at this. "What about Oriko, then?"Standard hostage recovery pattern, you reply just as quickly. Because that's what she is, isn't she? A hostage. Whether on her own doing or by Ahriman controlling her, it doesn't matter. You'll do your best to rescue her from the shit she'd dived headfirst into, and let the cards fall where they may after that."..." The former Eversor Rank Leader falls silent again, before speaking up. "Bring me with you, when you go to purge those under her command. Let me assume control when you face her, Murderface." She swallows here, hard, audibly, as if each word is scorching her throat, as if it's that painful to say. "I'll do my best to get through to her at that moment. If there's nothing that can be done, then I'll kill her myself."...Can she do something like that?"No, I can't." Kirika shakes her head, and it's here that you see that her hands are trembling. Dislodging a few paper cranes from her lap. "But someone else may get it wrong. That's why I have to do it."How do you respond?...Alright. Deflecting every bullet as the stroll up to some stupid squad of vindicare about to be eviscerated.
>>30996325>Do you think Oriko can be saved?
We know what these weapons do to people. the chances of her being saved are slim, and we know it, She wanted honesty. Don't dredge up false hope, especially since Kirika knows exactly how these things fuck you up.

>>30996548Because doing things the hard way is how Chiaki does things. At least we know we're not terribly bright.

>>30996359 >>30996365You ask Kirika a question of your own, this time. A question that you've already made up your mind on - otherwise, you wouldn't be here.Does she think that Oriko can be saved? It's here that the eyepatched Eversor laughs. Not a cackle, but a tired, weary, defeated kind, almost sounding like a shuddering exhalation of breath."Think back on our death bout, Murderface. Think back on the events that lead to my death." She shakes her head. "You couldn't have saved me even if you wanted to. Even if you exhausted every and all means to do so."She looks down at her hands, again. "I didn't want to be saved. I wanted it. I wanted what the Blessed Lady could offer me, I wanted what the Blessed Lady promised. And it was such bliss, such...ecstasy. To be so sure, finally, of something, in a world full of uncertainties." Another laugh. "I didn't care whose blood ended up staining my clothes, my face, my sword. You, Mami...even Oriko. As long as the blood flowed, I cared not from whence it came."Kirika grabs a fistful of the paper cranes, now, and flings them down the ledge. When she speaks again, her voice is strained, not from pain but from the effort of bringing out something that should have been buried. A pain akin to tearing old wounds open to bleed anew. "Oriko...Oriko's smart. She's kind. And yet, she was stupid enough to think that I could have been someone better." Kirika shrugs a slender shoulder, not turning to look at you. "Unwarranted optimism, in droves. It was one of her many qualities that made me hate her the moment I met her." A pause. "It also convinced me that she would make me whole."Without warning, the former Eversor Rank Leader of the Ninth Officio pushes the entire pile of paper cranes off her lap and into the empty space beyond the ledge - scattering them in a haphazard cloud of carefully-folded paper. It's here that she stands up.[1/2]
>>30997189...I actually kind of like Iori.I hope to god she hasn't done something unbearably stupid instead of having a normal life.

>>30997189Apparently /tg/ doesnt like clingy. I mean, I remember how I at first disliked Midori, too, for the same reason because of how she started out. But she kinda mellowed out after we gave her the Murderface-Expierience-Talk and probably because of Barrier and Amnesia too. Now Midorin is best girl. That said, while I like Tsundere characters even the original Iori is the worst kind of cunt.
>>30997231"The chances of Oriko being saved are laughably slim. I know what a Golden Weapon can do to someone with an established contract." She nods at you. "And you know what they can do to a civilian."Yes. You do."Slim as they are, the fact that there's still a chance warrants an attempt. As many attempts as it takes." Kirika offers you a hand - and you blink once at it, before taking it and allowing her to pull you up back to your feet. "Even if I will forget her eventually - even if I do turn into a stark-raving bitch ghost inside a pretty knife - I can go to that hell without the regret of not doing everything I can for her." She shrugs again. "Hopefully, she will forgive me in the afterlife."...Well, she doesn't have to worry about that. It's now that Kirika blinks her one good eye at you. "Whatever are you talking about, Murderface?"You shake your head. You won't give her all the control. You'll be facing Oriko together. If it comes to that - if she really can't be saved - then you'll be the one to kill Oriko. Even you know that Kirika doesn't need that kind of guilt. That kind of misery. And you hate her fucking guts! The former Eversor Rank Leader nods quietly at this, before letting go of your hand and turning away. "...I appreciate it, Murderface. I truly do."Well, that's--"Now get the fuck out of here." She doesn't so much as look at you, now, merely staring down the lip of the Helipad. "I've remembered enough, for now. Too much, and I may remember why I've always hated you."...Right. Fine. You'll leave. Before you go, though...Any last-minute tips to help me with Oriko? Since you know her best.Nothing else. "It's fucking -december-, why is it so god damn hot?" Megan asks while taking another swig of her water bottle."Ah, you weren't born here I take it?" Izzy looks at her, who is starting to become a sweaty mess. It's not our fault, nor the weathers fault, that she decided to wear a long sleeve shirt with pants on the hottest day of the week for a camping trip."She will need to get used to it." Sami chimes in from behind us, nonchalant as ever. "Those who cant stand the heat die under it. Usually.""Aww, come on Sami, isn't that a bit harsh?" Izzy pushes Sami forward and hooks her to Izzy's side, keeping her head snug inbetween her arm and chest. "There are people all over the world who dream about coming over here because of the weather, so-""They're here for Disneyland, Six Flags, Legoland, Knots Berry Farm and Universal Studios. Maybe Seaworld too." I add in from the front, keeping an eye on the trail ahead. "At least we're not as bad as, say, Hawaii or anything."We, the group of four, linger on in our walk towards the campground. This was orginally Izzy's idea, surprisingly, just for her and Sami. Then Sami proclaimed that she wouldn't go anywhere far away if I wasn't there (why?) then Megan states she following us so that she could try to find my weaknessas it is her duty of a rival (again, why?) and we're here now. Even now I can still remember the look on Eightball's face when we all came in asking for a weekend off....Fucking cat alien. Even if I do owe him my life I'll get him someday."Calm down." Sami looks dejected as she says this, most likely haven given up all hope on escaping Izzy's grasp. "You can wait to vent."And the head of orange hair to my right would like to disagree.(1/9)
>>30997710I haven't read all the write ups, sorry. I should add Freon though. Apparently getting your shit kicked in by murderface is very endearing, it worked for Midori.
>>30997746"Everyone, down and be quiet." At Izzy'a command we all squat down in uniform fashion, almost . A few months of training does that to people, and I was lucky enough to do both Callidus stealth training AND some Eversor training."The hell is it, Izzy? I didn't see a damn thing." "You weren't trained to see things, Megan. I was." The burn aside, she is the only Vindicare among us, and I'd trust her eyes more than my own in a heartbeat.Sure enough, some rattling of bushes nearby silences everyone. We all continue to hunker down as the sound of grass being stepped on continues to move until Izzy pops her head out and... squees in joy?"Ahh, I knew there would be some on the trip!" We all raise our heads to see an elk wandering around about 10 meters from us. It looks at us for a while, probably due to the most mature lady here, and returns to its buisness uninterested in us."Yes, and there's a good chance there'll be more later on. Come on, let's at least get to the campsite before you start stalking animals." I drag her by the arm and manage to start moving. Sami and Megan sigh in relief (or grief, maybe both) and begin following.(2/9)
>>30997751you leave freon alone i got plans for freon
>>30997751Midori was enamoured LONG before Murderface kicked her shit in,
>>30997770Another hour passes until we hit the camp site, marked by the bench, the outdoors do-it-yourself grill and the "campfire", which at this point is nothing more than a circle of rocks surrounding a pile of ash. There's a big tree right next to bench, but other than that there's nothing special. It doesn't take long to divide up the areas among us; Izzy takes her her place near the tree, Sami joins mine next to the camp fire (much to Izzys dissapointment) and Megan takes her place in the middle of us."The hell are we supposed to do with this?" Megan comments while standing over the fireplace. "Whoever used it last left nothing for us to use! Isn't that how its supposed to-" She's abruptly cut off as a pile of small wood logs is dumped from Izzys backpack right next to the fireplace. "All campers are expected to bring their own tools, supplies and resources, Megan. Surely I can expect you to have fulfilled those requirements~?"Even if it was only for a glimpse of a moment, the look on her face was pricelss."And before you complain, this isn't like you elementary school trips." I add in, beginning to unpack my tent. "This is a test of survival, endurence and skill. Well, at least that's what I said to Eightball so we could come here. So, i implore you; what DID you bring?""....Soda." Right off the bat something that shouldn't be here. "Sleeping bag, hammock, toothpaste and brush, soap, clothes, phone, wallet, tablet-""Enough." Sami adds in while holding her head. "It already hurts.""Well nobody told me what to bring!""Because you invited yourself. Reap what you sow."(3/9)
>>30997772Lewd plans I'm sure.
>>30997789TIme passes as we get the camp together, and right after everything is set we head out. Izzy, having pre-planned the entire event, already has a map marked with everything of interest. First place to go to was a nearby waterfall; not large but sizable enough to enjoy the view. Aparently for some it just wasn't enough."Ahh, I needed thisssss..." Megan sighs in relief as she dips her bare feet in the water, content on just sitting on the ground as the water runs along."You had no hiking shoes. Expected results." Sami talks after she finds a spot on the other end of the river, eyeing the considerably red feet."I thought the boots would be perfectly fine for today." She glances at the pair she took with her, brown and leather-bound. "Guess not, but I'll be fine knowing this for later on. Give me a fucking break okay?""I'm not sure if you're going to get that break." I comment from the side. "From your position it's giving Izzy a good opportunity to push you in."In an instant, as expected of a trained Eversor, her legs arch out of the river as she back-flips from sitting position and turns on landing to be face-to-face with... a soaked white shirt....I've never really bothered with it before, but how does she manage to keep her balance throwing knives with those huge-"Aw, geez! You all need to stare at them don't you~?" Izzy remarks as she crosses her arms over her chest, blocking view to the red/white bra."I think it's perfectly legitimate for anyone to be jealous of yours!" Megan points a finger at her in protest."Well, I sure didn't say anything about jealousy~.""YOU GET THE POINT THOUGH, RIGHT?!"(4/9)
>>30997790you wish.More like "being too nice comes back to bite you on the ass" plans. On the plus side, I'm guessing next time she's going to be worth a shitload more points, so there's that.
>>30997815Shenanigans like that continued throughout the day, ranging place to place from an open meadow to the very top of a hill overlooking the rest of the park (I'm pretty sure Megan almost died there from her feet). Once dusk began to fall we made our way back to campsite; me and Sami were preparing our dinner with a gas cooker while Izzy was teaching Megan how to set the campfire up."Wow, you two did a really nice job this time!" Izzy comments as she begins chewing on another piece of well cooked steak. Medium rare, always the way to go."Yea, I'll admit this isn't bad at all." Even Megan looks happy with her food, a light smile on her lips as some juice begins pouring out of her mouth. Pure rabbits look right there."It was mostly her, she just told me when to move stuff." Sami, already done with her plate, adds in when she swallows and heads back to her backpack."Whatever, I like food." And who doesn't? No one could rebuttle that.Soon after everyone else had finished eating as Sami came back with- OH HELL NO.(5/9)
>>30997721Thanks for running!
>>30997836"Sami... why did you bring any if you were only going to bring ONE?" I ask as she walks over to the campfire with a metal stick with a marshmellow impaled onto it."Your loss for not thinking about it." She begins to twirl the stick over the fire while everyone else watches in envy. A while later she takes the marshmellow off, reaches into her bag and pulls out... gram crackers and chocolate.God damn it, why didn't I think of this."Aw, Sami! You could at least let me have a bite, please~?" I'm forced to hold Izzy in place as she begins to lean over and reach over to the now-complete smore."Let's at least be civilised people and maybe talk about something as she speaks?" I protest while slowly dragging Izzy back down to her seat."Well, what's there to talk about?" Soon after Megan asks the question Sami makes some sort of noise through her mouth and holds her hand up high. When her mouth is empty she speaks."Who were we before the eighth, and why did we come there?"The campsite goes quiet save for the crackling of the fire and Sami continuing to eat her smore, the questions asks beforehand holding onto everone else's thoughts. Me and Sami have already had this conversation before so we know about each other but it's a different situation to bring these two into it."Fine, I'll start since one of us already knows what happens." I give in and warm my hands by the fire before continuing.(6/9)
>>30997854"I was an only child in my family, but I was the only thing that was keeping everything together. The atmosphere at the house was tense at best, but whenever I would come home from school, piano practice or whatever it would be a complete wreck, and either one of them or both of my parents would be bleeding somewhere." Izzy had a sorrowful look while Megan looked like she couldn't ever believe what I was saying. "I knew what was going on even if they didn't tell me, but at school I always managed to look like a normal girl. I was good at putting a mask on myself; I got it from my parents.""That happened for a while until I became a teenager. As all of you know, reaching that age makes you more independent, or at least gives you the drive to become it. With myself gone from the house more often, the tension between my parents got worse every week." Deep breath. "Then dad snapped, or maybe it was mom. Either of them were far enough down the road to have it happen. But one day I snuck back home to hear my parents fighting like normal, until one of them screamed bloody murder." Another pause, keeping on their seats, then..."In the end, my father killed my mom, and fainted before he could kill me." Their expressions get worse while Sami continues eating, since she knows whats coming. "Out of shock I couldn't do anything, I couldn't call the police. My fathereventually died from bleeding out, but he probably would have lived if I had called. But I just hid up in my bedroom for about two days until the neighbors called the cops because we -weren't- making any noise.""I was kept at an orphanage until I made my contract, then ran off so they never could find me again. I just wanted to get out of there, away from the constant pain that I felt there from abandoned children. My wish was to take pain away from others and to put it onto those who deserve it. Thats roughly me today."(7/9)
>>30997868Again, dead silence as the rest of the group watches me put another log onto the camfire. "Sami, your turn.""Was an orphan from birth, grew up in an orphanage, never wanted nor spoken too, joined the eighth because I wanted to actually do stuff, wished for the power that would make nobody be able to get in my way of what I want to do."...I expected as much."Any, err, details?" Megan asks with some hesitation."Don't try to pry any out of her." Ah, the fire does feel nice. "Did that a long time ago and it didn't give to anything." She seems distraught at my story but lets it slide.""Well now I just feel bad." She replies while rubbing her arms. "I mean, compared to you guys I've had a pretty good life. Wealthy, happy family that always pampers me and feeds me and..." Groaning she looks at the dirt, twisitng her foot into the ground. "It just got so much on my nerves. I didn't -need- them looking over me every single step I took. They also didn't let me do anything to physical when they feared that it could harm me. Isn't that the point of how you get tougher with sports!? Eightball was hesitant to even contract me but aparently my wish to be free got to him. Yea, so I had the best life any girl could have and I wished it all away just so I could do my own shit. Think what you fucking want to with it."(8/9)
>>30997772leave freon alone
>>30997895it's already writtenit's probably canonid's habbening
>>30997889Megan nearly curls up into a ball but flinches at Izzy's grasp, who is lightly running her fingernails across her back. "Don't think we'll see you any less because of what you did." Izzy speaks lightly, softly. I've rarely seen her like this before, and every other time was with Sami. "I'll admit my story is bad too. I couldn't stop some bullying that was affecting my friend who later commited suicide. I just wished for the ability to protect my future friends." She immdiately turns and hugs Sami before I can reach her. "That's why I'm doing my best to protect and guide all of you okay~?""Mm-kay." Sami closes her eyes and surrenders to her embrace."Ooh, I got an idea! How about we make one of those pledge circles?" Izzy chimes in as she releases herself from Sami. "We can all make a circle pledges like in elementry school! Quick, everyone around the campfire!" I stand and take my spot on the other side of the campfire while Izzy moves Sami into position and repositions herself. "Now, everyone extend their hands out and hold hands, then close your eyes." I feel two very different hands on each side; the small ones of Sami in my right and the tense yet strong ones of Megan on the left."Soo.... anyone have any ideas on what to pledge for?""Wow, really Izzy? All this for nothing?""You can think of something, right?""I got one." I tighten my hands a bit to calm them both down. Not the best pledge, but this will work for me. "I pledge to never crumble under reality, to never falter in duty and to survive in this world at all costs." I peek my eyes open to see that everyone seems to agree with it, then close them again. "Then, one, two, three.""I pledge to never crumble under reality, to never falter in durt and to survive in this world at all costs."And so our pledge was made, and we continued to live in a world of magic and witches.(9/9)(Man it's been a while since I've done one, sorry for the wait! Feedback appreciated!)

>>30997721Thank you for the quest! Here are couple of questions that came up during this thread.1)Is the winged-fragment Midori saw in the barrier different from the Homucifer/Transcendent One that Chiaki saw in the scrying mirror.2)Did we manage to guess the upgrade requirement of the DEagle correctly? That is to say, its upgraded by convincing the winged-incarnation to appear in the mirror and getting her to work with the rest of us.3)Kirika says the spirits inside the golden weapons lose their memories. Are the incarnations inside our DEagle also losing memories, or are they somehow special due to the general craziness that caused them to come into being? Or due to the fact that in a strange way Chiaki is them and they are Chiaki, and Chiaki has not died yet.
