You are Gertrude Pool, Sophomore Class President and new commander of Lafayette Girls Academy’s revived Tankery Team.

Damn Domino Lady didn’t come for you in the night.

You got a general text from the Hall Monitors addressed to all the council members. Despite everyone’s best efforts, apparently the trail against the Domino Lady is getting cold, and less and less thefts attributed to her are being reported. She’s slipping out of the school’s grasp so to speak.

At least it’s not like one of those weird dreams where you’re sleeping and they fly in through the window. It was really weird having that kind of dream and Kitten flies in for no apparent reason and then just starts playing video games on your stomach.

Regardless though, it’s time for school. You’re not sure if today might be busy or not but you can’t be too sure.

You sigh though, it’s snowing but-

WAIT WHAT IT’S SNOWING WHAT THE FUCK AREN’T YOU NEAR SPAIN?

Goddamn it. Even Virginian weather comes to annoy you an ocean away.

You open up the closet, time to figure out what coat to wear.

We also need to check the map today as well. See which tanks will benefit the improved engines as well in stall the Shuzen on the Flag.

We also need to ask when are we meeting Black Forest on the visit, as well as tell her since we're going to Australia for Shore Leave to contact any Tankery teams to see if they want to spare

> Tankery Trenchcoat

You open up your door, your hands clad in those neat little leather gloves Kitten gave you. They’re warmer than she is.

“Morning, President!” says Nancy.

Your crew has bundled up for the surprise snow today. Lisa says, “Fucking great weather we’re having, aren’t we?”

You shrug. “Hey, LGA is so Virginian that we get its wacky weather too.”

Kitten nods, wearing the jacket you gave her for her birthday and the school scarf. “Yep! Feels like home.”

“Yeah,” you say. “Can’t wait for Thanksgiving. Lord knows I’ll be ten pounders bigger thanks to Dad.”

Lisa snaps her finger. “Speaking of which, we just got the email from Lutz about the exact location of our fight.”

“Alright, I’ll take a look at it later,” you say.

Nancy claps her hands together, her cheeks red from the biting cold. “Right then, shall we get a move on?”

With that, you all head down the stairs and onto the street. The snow’s actually managing to stick. Goodness, you do not want to deal with cold tanks tomorrow.

Sounds good.

I disagree with the anons before saying we should put an engine in the Tiger II, it would hardly benefit them. They already have the team's best driver and it's at the high end of speed among our heavies.

If we put engines in anything (we should consider saving money for all our purchases in the near future), it should be the Churchill and Scott. Both drag down the tanks they'll be sticking with. Plus, I want our main scouts, whom have been given a threatening gun, to have every mobility advantage we can give them.

>>
>>31120651
Deep river divides it in half, two crossing points. Doesn't look like there's anywhere to ford across. Most of the vegetation, as you'd expect, is around the river. That's where CHT will want to fight, where they can actually hide their tanks. Other then the river, terrain's fairly flat.
>>

Make Nancy warmer. You know what I mean.
>>
>>31120735
If that's the case we should definite apply camo on our scouts.

I suggest we have two teams of Scouts, (two tanks each) and week watch over the two crossing.

Essentially we're going to fight similar to the Saunders match
>>
> Converse Casually

You say, “Say, Nancy. Is there any particular date when we can visit Black Forest Peak?”

Nancy says, “They’re in the area. I’d say Friday at the earliest, we can all take a vacation day there then plan our match with Chi-Ha-Tan the following day.”

“Cool,” you say. “I’m excited to see how a veteran team like that ticks. It seems like they’d be a bit… unfun.”

Lisa says, “They did win their Nationals nine times in a row. The tenth they almost won because they nearly let a few kids drown.”

“Ah,” you say. “Yeah, I’d imagine that’s a bit iffy.”

“Irregardless,” says Nancy. “I am excited to see Maho Nishizumi again! She seems nice!”

Lisa smirks, saying, “Fairless seems nice to you, Nancy. I’m starting to notice some kind of theme here with you.”

“But she really is nice!” says Nancy.

With that, you arrive at school. Most kids are apparently opting to stay home today due to the snow. Fairless is sitting on a bench, playing around on her phone. Otherwise you see a brief snowball fight or two break out amongst students, but the snow hasn’t covered the school just yet for an all-out war.

Not like last year. Boy, that was something.

>>
>>31120886
They like doing hit and run tactics/guerrilla style tactics.

If we're in a big group (Like the Spanish team did) they'll use their camo to let us come in close to have their light tanks hit us, or their Tank Destroyers to do damage.

You say, “I am working on some stuff today after school most likely, but you’re free to tag along, I suppose. If we have any time, we can do what you want, yeah?”

“Cool,” says Fairless. She stands up and crosses her arms. “It’s a date then.”

Carnegie, Frick, and Walker slide in behind you guys. “Did you hear that!” yells Carnegie. “It’s a-“

Fairless glares at them.

Carnegie says, “A completely platonic errand run being shared by you two! Gotta run!” The three of them wave and NOPE the fuck out of there.

You sigh, standing up as well. “See you after school then, Bernadette.” You wave goodbye and walk past her. It’s time to go to classes.

Thankfully, all of your midterms have been through and over with. Your classes return to a state of review over grounded down topics. For math, it’s basic algebra and geometry, for English it’s vocabulary and grammar, and for Chemistry it’s periodic table.

You shrug. “Not much, it seems like a right proper cute thing you’ve done here, Zwillman.”

She smiles, holding up Kirby in her hands. “I’m glad! It feels like I now have a reason to go to school now! So, thanks for that Gertrude!”

You nod, kneeling down next to a cat. She purrs as you pet her delicately on the head. Cats aren’t like dogs that’s for sure, but you definitely don’t mind a cat.

So looking at the street view, this place isn't flat at all. Like holy shit, how was I so wrong.

We can use it to our advantage, though. It's easier to spot camouflaged tanks when you're looking down on them rather you and them being on a horizontal plane, ya? Until the serious tactically minded anons come around, I propose we play defensively, propping our lights behind hills and letting the crews lay prone on top watching all around. If we force them to come to us, they can't use their camouflage effectively.

We'd have to keep our distance from the river because the foliage is much taller and thicker near it.

This will force their hand to wait for the O-I to lead a charge probably. We should have an easier time dealing with it if the Tiger can shoot at it's top rather then front armour, ya?
>>
>>31121592
Or if the Tiger can take out the main gun leaving only the 37mm left.

With that said. Sounds like a good idea but I still propose we send in our scouts for scouting enemy movement/picking at loners

“I did actually! I start today right after school. If you want visit, that’s cool. Of course, I should tell you that even though we’re friends I can’t give discounts.”

“Of course, Mr. Mishka seems pretty strict on discounts, I don’t blame you, but good job getting the job, Siegel!”

Lisa asks you, “Where have you been?”

You say, “Zwillman’s Cats. She’s finally got some purpose now.”

“Cool!” says Nancy. “I have to say, I love cats myself! My parents never got me one though, or any kind of pet for that matter.”

You snap your fingers, smiling. “Only the best kind of fucking goldfish a girl can ask for! Our goldfish had these black spots on them for some reason, one of them had them in the shape of mickey mouse so we called him Mickey.”

Lisa asks, “How long did he last?”

“Two days,” you say. “I know, short, but goldfish are a dime a dozen.”

With that, the alarm rings. You quickly scarf down your lunch then say goodbye to your staff. Time to head to Health Class.

You yawn a little as the Professor goes over the concepts of safe sex. Health isn’t exactly like gym class where you can goof off and that’s that. Heck, you can just feel your muscles turning to flab, might be worth it to start exercising on your own time.

Though, now the Professor is having you work on something on your own time for class. What shall you do now?

Regardless though, it looks like class is over. Time to finish off the day. Theatre class goes by relatively uneventfully, as does History class. You arrived at the park where Hall Monitors O’Brian, O’Hara, O’Keer, O’Bannon and Pinkerton have apparently set some kind of trap for the Domino Lady. It appears to be a pile of sexy panties out in the open while a huge number of Hall Monitors lie in wait in nearby bushes and trees waiting with tasers, mace, and batons.

O’Hara tells you and Fairless, “We’ll get her yet!”

O’Keer nods, pulling out her clipboard. “Indeed, we managed to get another composite sketch of what she looked like!” She shows the picture to you.

Very interesting.

Fairless says, “Do you really think the Domino Lady is going to fall for something as half baked as this?”

O’Keer nods again. “Of course, and do you really think you two will catch standing around like a bunch of Northern Ireland birds in the breeze with no trousers hanging between your legs?”

You say, “What does that have to do with anything?”

“Whatever!” says O’Keer.

You squint your eyes. “Get back to me on that later.” You both sit down on a bench, pulling out your smartphones. “Right, here’s what we know. The Domino Lady has been here for four years, stealing panties from everyone, thousands in the course of three or four nights. We have a size nine bootprint, a general physical description of black hair and a feminine musculature, but that’s about it.”

Fairless says, “I have a theory. It’s not one girl, but perhaps it’s multiple. There’s no way a girl can access all of LGA and steal that many panties unless they were Santa Claus. It’s probably a club or something doing this.”

You nod. “What suspects do we have then?”

“Naval Studies, Sewing Club, Delinquents.”

You say, “Nah, the Delinquents are pretty chill… I think.”

“They’re still suspects though,” says Fairless. “Who do you want to investigate?”

Guys.... what if this is all a plan to drum up more business for the Sewing Club by stealing all the panties.
>>
What clubs would have an use for thousands of panties?
In fact, what can you do with all those panties? What could be the motive?

Money, selling them on the black market?
Naval studies would be a logical suspect, they would have place enough to stock them and the logistic necessary to smuggle them discretly off the ship.

That would suck, I like these gals.

You kick Anna’s door down. “The jig is up!” you yell. “Give yourself up, Anna and you’ll be spared!”

Anna and crew cry, kneeling down in front of you. “Alright, it’s true! I don’t ACTUALLY HAVE A BOYFRIEND! I JUST MADE HIM UP TO SOUND LIKE I’M IMPORTANT!”

You and Fairless stare at her, then glance at each other, then back at her. “Um. I mean, are you the Domino Lady or not?”

Mamie looks up at you. “No we’re not the Domino Lady, you fucking idiot.”

You shrug. “I’m just saying, you three seem like prime suspects.”

Anna looks up, wiping some tears from her eyes. “Why would you think we were the Domino Lady? All we do is make clothing, not steal it!”

Fairless says, “That’s a good point.”

You sigh. What now though?

You say, “Now, Anna, I don’t care if you don’t have a boyfriend or not. Just calm down and listen. I need a schedule of some kind, when do you want to do the Fashion Show?”

Anna scratches her chin, blowing into a tissue. “Well… I was thinking maybe in December, but if you want move it maybe until after Thanksgiving maybe?”

You say, “Give me something concrete by tomorrow, Anna. I’ll see you soon, okay?”

With that, you leave Anna’s dorm and head out for the next set of suspects.

You kick down Dory’s metal door. “The jig is up!” Inside are the Naval Studies kids, your Naval Studies kids, Engineering and Merchant. All of them are in the midst of studying and the like. “Give yourselves up and we’ll make it easy on you!”

Dory tilts her head. “What are you talking about?”

“You guys are the Domino Lady aren’t you?” you say. “Or at least, some people in Naval Studies are.”

… is what you say to them.

Dales sighs, looking over at Dory. Dory gives her a stern look at that, but Dales says, “Gertrude, you haven’t done me much wrong on the Tankery team so I don’t see how lying to you is going to help me.”

Fairless says, “So you’re the Domino Lady?”

Dory motions you into the room then quickly shuts the broken door. “Slade, call the others.” Slade quickly dials up her phone. “Okay, listen, Gertrude, can you keep a secret?”

You shrug. “You guys are the Domino Lady kind of secret?”

Dales says, “Me and Dory are Juniors, but we got roped into it when we were Freshmen.” The door opens to reveal a huge group of Naval Studies students standing outside, some of them you recognize.

“Hi, Gertrude!” Franny waves at you. That’s not the most surprising thing actually.

“It’s been a tradition to steal panties off the General Ed studies for four years,” says Dory. “But we especially turned it into a way to piss off Fredendall without habving to expose ourselves.”

You nod. “Ah, I see. What do you do with all that underwear?”

Dales says, “We hide it. Only the Seniors know where they are.”

Naval Studies are our friends and allies, but this must stop. Fuck annoying Frendendall.

Ideally we would "find" the stolen panties, and the Domino Lady would never be seen again. But I guess we would need to convince the NS seniors.

Not as good for our standing in the school as revealing the truth, but we need the NS on our side.
>>
>>31123519
I don't think so. We need to stop them from stealing and credit it to ourselves. Ideally they could put forth a fall guy that all the thefts could be blamed on, but there's no way that would work out.

Mmm, maybe have someone dressed as the Domino Lady issue a declaration that she'll stop. Like, have her record it which will be broadcast to the student body. To make it believable they'd reveal the location of the panties.

So do you have any ideas for a compromise.

>>

We need to talk to the seniors. These thefts need to stop and we have to make sure everyone knows we stopped them.

If we could convince them, our standing among Naval Studies should help, we can 'uncover' the location of the stash. The 'Domino Lady' would then publicly apologize or something before disappearing.
>>
> Y

You say, “We should cut a deal here. First off, no more stealing panties.” You point to the Seniors in the hallway. “You hear that?”

One of the seniors says, “But it’s fun!”

Fairless asks, “How do you even break the doors down?”

“Pfft,” says Dory. “We just disassemble the doors then bust in. Fuck breaking through.”

“I don’t care how it’s done, it needs to stop,” you say. You scratch your chin, thinking. “Hm… and I think I have just the way to do it.”

All the Naval Studies kids huddle up around you as you explain the plan to them.

With that, you and Fairless are back up topside. “Alright,” you say. “It should go down tonight.”

Fairless nods. “Good.” You stare at her for a minute, then she says, “Don’t worry, I won’t tell a soul, I promise you.”

You smile. “Thanks, Bernadette!” Your stomach growls a little. Might be time for some dinner.

Let's have a discussion then.

We have 28K and need to set some aside for hotels. We can buy spaced armour or move the kit on our KV-85 to the new flag (I think we can do that).

Next week we're buying the Chaffee and Cromwell, plus we'll have the M4A3 and Panther chassis to work. Saving money for our expensive projects next week is something we should keep in mind.

The most engines we could buy should be 4, though I'd rather 2 or 3. The Tiger is the fastest heavy with the best driver, so it doesn't need one. The Churchill is the slowest so definitely does.

Other candidates include the KV-85, S35 if we want to use it like a scout, the M8A1 to do it's job better, the Sturmpanzer though I don't know who they're going to squad with, and the Chi-Ha because it's the slowest medium.

Thoughts everyone?
>>
>>31123911
I'd vote the Freshmen first, if it ever comes up.
Though it seems unlikely we're gonna be able to do that for this thread.

It's like with the early upgrades for the Churchill, they always seem receive the least priority even with them being the first to volunteer their services (and in this case their Loyalty subquest appeared before some of the crews).

It’s been months since you’ve actually stepped foot in Mr. Mishka’s tank shop. You should visit the place more. Mr. Mishka is at the counter, and he smiles at you. “Gertrude! Nice to see you.” He looks over to Fairless, and his smile wavers a bit, as if he just saw an NKVD Blocking trooper. “Who’s your friend?”

You say, “This is Bernadette Fairless, Senior Vice President.”

Fairless offers her hand. “Nice to meet you.”

“Likewise!” says Mr. Mishka. He looks over at you. “So, Gertrude, come to visit Benita? She’s made herself quite the worker.”

You nod. “Sure.”

Mr. Mishka leads you to his garage where he works on the tanks. It’s big enough to fit a Maus tank in here, and inside Benita and Huxley are apparently working on the chassis of a Sherman tank, bound for parts unknown. Lisa sits nearby, playing on her phone. “Huxley, Benita. How are you two doing?”

Benita smiles, her face covered in grease and her school uniform exchanged for boiler pants and a messy tank top. “Doing great! Finally getting to work with something I like!”

You nod, smiling. “I’m glad, Siegel.”

“Benita’s quite the worker too, she’s making things go twice as smooth,” says Huxley. He leans over, glaring at Lsia. “Or at least, twice as smooth when you’re around, Lisa.”

Lisa says, “Bite me, Huxley. At least you finally found a girl that’ll tolerate you.”

Benita smirks. “Are you afraid I’m going to steal Huxley away from you, Lisa?” Lisa blushes intensely as Benita giggles. “That’s adorable!”

“Shut up!” yells Lisa as she turns around facing the corner.

Mr. Mishka laughs. “Kids these days.”

So before we make the decision.

The Red circle is the dam. It's the only reasonable crossing point for the heavies because they'll be extremely over exposed at the other crossing point at blue due to the valley. The Dam is also wider while the bridge at blue is wide enough for one tank. Putting engines on the heavies is not going to help significantly in this match.

I'd add another Improved Engine for the Tiger II since the terrain is pretty rocky and hilly, with the 8.8 cm gun put to good use on a high vantage point overlooking the approach on the other side of the bridge, but that's just me.

Pic related.
>>
>>31124405
Given sending any of our tanks into the valley is a death sentence, I advocate taking the bridge. Sending our heavies over there is perfectly reasonable and far easier to accomplish than trying to mess around in the valley where their armor less than useful as they'll take potshots at the top armor where it's weakest.

The only problem is that its an obvious location to put the O-I. Still, I'd prefer sending the heavies across the dam as they'd have better mobility and their armor is more effective.

Still more to come.

What I do want is to put engines on or more mobile tanks to make them even faster. Something Google maps doesn't show but Earth does is that there are numerous little roads all over the place, here is one.

The river appears fordable, albeit not everywhere as the banks of the river are quite steep in places, but putting better engines on our faster tanks and infiltrating them across in unlikely locations would serve us better than somewhat faster heavy tanks. So the scouts, Hellcat and the KV-85 so it's even faster. I'd also use one Girl scout freebie on the T-34/85

And put a grouser kit on the Hellcat.

You made some interesting points but we already put Grouces on the Hellcat, German forgot about it,

Also the TT Crew can just control the hellcat now, I rather not give them improved engines.

If anything we still have 9,9K left in reserve and a couple of days until the match, so we have time.
>>
>>31124663
Well TBH the only real difference is not putting an engine on the Churchill. I'd move it to the Hellcat myself.

>>
>>31124684
The crew manning the hellcat is still a little wet behind the ears, the improved engines are for the more experience crews (Excluding the Aces)

We pretty much fill his suggestions though.

the Scouts are the Somua S35, the M8A1 Scott GMC, and the Hellcat.

We gave the Kv-85 the engine.

the only thing we didn't do is that we put the engine on the churchill and not on the hellcat.
>>
>>31124684
I thought the Hellcat was already crazy fast. The only reason for putting a better engine on that is to confuse opponents with our sanic tank zooming towards them.

Still that was the plan, I was hoping we can pair the Somua and the Hellcat together. As for the Scott and some other tank check the other area.

I suppose the Churchill could "assist" the Stupa or the 120mm Chi-Ha in moving them into position, if you wish to rationalize it.
And by assist I mean lug them uphill with tow cables.

“Hey, Cathy, what’s up?”

“Not much, Gertrude. Apparently you got us booked for the Senior Prom?”

“I did!”

“Awesome!”

“You girls need any more help though?”

“Well, the Senior Prom is a ways away, but I suppose if you can find us more gigs to play at, that’d be great. Fifty percent of our earnings would go to you of course, cheap as it might be.”

“Oh, I can’t accept that, Cathy.”

Here's what I think. Our heavies led by the Aces will move up onto the dam, with the Somua to scout and Chi-Ha to tag along. It'll actually be useful this match for flushing out tanks by lobbing HE into soft cover.
Once across, assuming they don't get fucked by the O-I, they'll split into two squads. The Tiger, T34, and Somua; and the Churchill, KV-85, and Chi-Ha. They'll be tasked with hunting and ultimately looping towards the bridge I guess.

The StuG, Sturmpanzer, M4A4 (I don't trust the new crew), and perhaps Panther will position themselves watching the road coming from the bridge.

Ourselves, Stuart, Hellcat, PzIV, and Sentinel will split into two squads and ford. They'll be tasked with roaming and fast response.

The key to dealing with CHT is small squads and denying them intel, which small squads achieves. Both will kill the effectiveness of their ambush and hit-and-run tactics.

I don't claim to be a tactician, please tell me where you think the plan fails.

>>31124936
Well it works. It lacks reactive strength though. A thing to keep in mind is that sending the tanks over the river by fording can't act as fast response because they need to climb the valley first. Assuming Chi Ha spots us, and they probably will, they will always be able to react faster and if they catch our tanks while climbing, they're dead.

There's also questions about the terrain too. From Google Earth, the whole place looks dusty. Any movement could potentially chuck a huge dust storm up although I'm not too sure about that.
>>
>>31124886
>>31125031
This.

Maybe a small open market, of sorts. Black Forest seems very closed until recently so some foreign goods (and music) might be just the thing, though we need Maho's permission of course
>>
>>31125057
Fair, but we won't kick up much dust moving on the roads or in the river valley.

Maybe have the tanks I want for fast response come up the dam behind the heavies so they can rescue them from the inevitable ambush and leave the rest behind to hunt for Chi-Has that snuck across the river and ready to move onto the bridge.
>>
> Head Somewhere (Dinner)

You sit across from each other at a small table at a little Italian restauarant. You read off the menu. “I’ll have the lasagna and some water.”

Fairless says, “Spaghetti with white sauce, please.”

The waiter takes it down then moves for the kitchen to present your orders.

You say, “Eat here a lot, Fairless?”

Fairless says, “I have a soft spot for Italian food. Back home, I had an Italian neighbor that I visited a lot, she always kept giving me food even though I was totally stuffed. The saying, ‘I’m sorry, Miss Valentino, I’m full’, meant nothing to her. She kept piling on white sauce like a regular Northern Italian.”

You say, “So, Maho Nishizumi. You know her?”

Fairless shrugs. “Apparently she’s some bigshot Tankery Ace?”

“One of the best,” you say. “Well, they did get eliminated pretty early, but still she heads one of the best schools for Tankery in the Japanese Academyship Program. She and I are actually pretty tight, she sent over a tank as a gift after we beat Walter Christie.”

“Cool,” says Fairless. The waiter comes and sets down your plates. You take in a whiff of that delicious lasagna scent, then quickly start digging in. “You have a plan or something?”

You say, “Well, we wanted to schedule like a visit with them, Friday. I thought, why not make it a school-wide event? Show the girls what another Academyship is like, all that stuff!”

Fairless slurps up a bit of pasta then kisses her fingers clean of some white sauce. She says, “I suppose that could work.”

“It can?” you say.

“Yeah,” says Fairless. “Me and Betty can organize something tomorrow, we’ll call up Maho too, then we can get things settled.”

“Great!” you say.

You continue eating well into the evening.

Then Fairless says, “Have you considered it?”

“Considered what?”

“Letting me draw you like one of my French girls.”

You stop eating for a second then say, “I’ve put some thought into it,” you say, twiddling your fingers.

“You don’t have to do it. Or-“ Fairless hesitates. “Well, you can do it, just I do have some pretty shear, thin, dresses for you to wear if that makes you comfortable so…” Fairless looks around, in case of Freshmen wanting to take advantage of this. She leans forward. “Want to, after dinner?”

Hmm looks like I have to go do something so I might not be here later. I'd prefer to wait till the end of the thread to discuss strategic matters as it always takes up a stupid amount of posts but I'll leave an itemized list of possible strategies.

>Send the Tiger 2 across the dam.
It's basically invulnerable to Chi Ha guns other than the O-I. Consider sending a squad with it, your discretion.

>Ford the river
Two crossing points isn't enough, this is necessary too. Sending fast tanks seems best or they'll be bogged down on the hill.

Optional ideas.

>Overwatch
We have the two howitzers and sending the Hellcat across with the scouts is risky. Leave them on our side of the river as support. An idea could be blowing the bridge to bits if Chi Ha assaults through there.

>Feint the bridge
Send a tank or two at the bridge just to scare Chi Ha. The tanks in question are probably dead but perhaps they can shelter under the bridge?

>Cross the bridge
Because if we think its too stupid to do then so will the enemy!

Please don't kill the thread.

You tilt your head. “Well… I need a model.” Fairless quirks her brow. You say, “You know, for the Sewing Club’s Fashion Show? We discussed a few weeks ago?”

Fairless sighs. “If I do that, will you do this.”

You nod. “Sure!”

Fairless crosses her arms. “Fine, fine. I suppose I can do it if the Sewing Club will have me.”

“Great!” you say.

You finish off your dinner with that you and head out to Fairless’ dorm. She invites you and to your surprise, it’s not covered in cigarette butts. The window in back has venetian shades and in front is a huge desk, covered in papers and folders. You say, “That where you work?”

Fairless nods. “Yeah.”

She leads you into her huge bedroom. Huge enough for a large bed, a couch, another desk with a computer, and a closet. Senior privilege, man. “Alright, get on the bed-“ Fairless quickly corrects herself. “Couch, get on the couch.”

“I’m sorry,” she says. “Actually, um…” Fairless sighs, redness in her cheeks. “I’ll just get my materials together. Go ahead and freshen up or something.”

Regardless though, the shower is finished. You exit to see Fairless assembling her materials, a sketchpad, a huge batch of pencils, the like.

You ask, “Why do you need that many pencils?”

Fairless looks over at you. “All of them serve a purpose.” She holds one up. “This one is heavy charcoal.” She puts that one down and brings another one up. “I use this one for sketching lines before I commit to them.” She brings another pencil up, “And this one is for shading.”

You look down at yourself. “Like this?”

Fairless gives you a thumbs up. “Perfect.” She licks her fingers then grabs one of her many pencils then starts drawing.

“So,” you say. “How long do I have to stay like this?”

Call Theater Tech, and give them the map to put on the appropriate camo scheme for the match with Chi-ha-tan

You say, “We’re hanging out, working on something together for her art project.”

“Oh?” says Kitten. “What is it?”

“She’s drawing me like one of her French girls.”

“… I don’t get it,” says Kitten.

“Titanic, you know the scene, Kitten, the one we always rewinded over and over again?”

It takes a full minute for Kitten to say, “Oh, oh, oh! OH! Wow, um… Wow! That- That’s quite the escalation!”

“Don’t worry,” you say. “Me and Fairless aren’t kissing each other yet, it’s just for her art project. Who knows, maybe it’s cubism back there.”

Fairless says, “It’s actually realistic drawing of a subject. We get bonus points for accurate human anatomy which is why I’m drawing you. I probably would have asked Carol but I didn’t get a chance to.”

“That’s good,” says Kitten. “I probably would’ve said no, no offense.”

“None taken,” says Fairless.

You roll over your back and arch your back, stretching your arms and legs and letting the blood flow freely once more. You look over at Fairless, who simply stares. She quickly returns to hiding her face behind her drawing pad, quickly sketching and drawing.

You pick up your phone and start texting and texting.

“Anna, I got a model for you, Bernadette F. Fairless. Start stocking up on clothes maybe for Black Forest’s visit.”

“Anne, cookies. Lots of them, need them by Friday for Black Forest’s visit.”

“Cathy, get the girls together, you’re going to play some music for Black Forest.”

“Georgine. I’m sending you our map of the future battle area. We need camouflage.”

The girls all text you back with various responses, but all of them positive enough to show that they’re willing to work.

Fairless finishes off her drawing. “Alright, I’m done.”

Fairless says, “It’s been a while since I worked with charcoal. I watched The Pacific the other day and I figured I’d try it out myself.”

You nod. “Cool. So that’s what I look like.”

“Is it not good?” she says.

“No, it’s great! I love it!” you say, handing the sketch pad back to her. “You’ve got a fine talent for drawing, Bernadette.”

That’s a lot of panties.

Outside of the Senior dorm is a gigantic pile of panties. Hall Monitors are quickly securing the area, driving away curious bystanders the like. “Keep it moving!” yells O’Bannon. “It’s just women’s underwear, this is a Girls Academy, nothing special!”

You and Fairless walk up to O’Keer, who holds what appears to be a recording device. She hits the play button.

“Hello, Lafayette Girls Academy! This is the Domino Lady! After careful consideration of my works and all that is happening this year, I have decided to give up the ghost so to speak, and stop stealing underwear, forever! All of these panties are panties that I have stolen over the years, each stamped with the names of the people they were stolen from! And yes, this does include people who have already graduated.

“But, regardless! You have won, the Domino Lady is no more! I bid you, adieu!”

The record stops there.

O’Keer sighs. “Damn it, I was hoping for something a little more climatic.”

You bask in the moment, you, Fairless, the Hall Monitors, are standing next to a gigantic pile of used women’s panties.

Descriptions are lacking, there are too many characters, the dialogue has that floaty head feel where they don’t do much except talk, the writer tends to use repetitive actions and the like.”

Fairless shakes her head. “I’m more of a fan of Hitchcock suspense films and the like.”

“Oh?” you say. “What about-“ you grab your pillow and throw it at her. “THIS!?”

She dodges it, it landing harmless on the wall behind her. You whistle. “Nice reflexes-“ you interrupted by a pillow flying into your face and slamming you against the couch.

“Thanks,” says Fairless simply.

Of course. You grab the pillow and charge at her, roaring only for her to smack you again, sending you flat against the couch again. Damn it.

“I apologize,” says Fairless.

You laugh, clutching the pillow close to your chest. “Oh, it’s fine! It’s fine!”

Fairless checks the time on her phone. “Ah, well, we oughta get to sleep. We got school tomorrow.”

“Alright,” you say. You tuck yourself onto the couch, taking one last look at Fairless stripping out of… “Fairless, why are you naked?”

She looks at you. “Didn’t I say this? I sleep in the nude.”

You nod. “Ah. Okay.”

Fairless nods, then slips under her covers. “Good night, Gertrude.”

You nod, smiling. “Good night, Bernadette.”

Thanks for running! Another fun day, and productive too, finishing the whole panty-snatcher thing.

Good Job, german.

This was a fun thread.

I can't wait to see what we have created with Black Forest.

So guys, what shall we do tomorrow? If we have time, we should work on the Delinquents or the Polish team
>>
>>31128697
Thanks for running Schteel!

With that new quest, are you sure it's okay running 4 days a week? 3 was already a heavier schedule then other QMs keep.
>>
Anyone updated that schedule? What is the most urgent thing?
>>
>>31128740
I have to admit, I've considered the idea of putting LGA on hiatus for a week to give myself some time to rest.

However, if I feel like I'm about to burn out, I will let you guys know and I will return in good time.
>>
Okay so plans for tommorow.

Practice.
Maybe some side quests (Polish/History/Delinquents)

>Asking Sewing Club about making a scarf for Maho.

>Other?

Anything else?
>>
>>31128786
I don't know how QMs stick to a schedule.

I can't. I can do threads when I'm at the intersection of "enthusiasm," and "time," and I don't feel enthused very often.

Although now that I say that, I'm kind of in the mood.
>>
>>31128794
Read and build CP. We've been lax on both those.

Thanks for running schteel!

Btw guys, why did we not fit the Improved Engine upgrade on the Tiger II? That tank was always historically underpowered. In hilly terrain it'll be in some trouble.

Also I'm thinking we should take a vacation day tomorrow. Just spend the day studying teams and reading the book.

Guys, I hit a bit of inspiration and I think I've figured out a good way, mechanically, to run an Unlimited quest. Look at this table:
https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B2czG_PEUpgjaFI2b282dnlkNjg/edit

The idea, basically, is modify this table and use it as the base mechanic for tank building. It won't be completely out of the players' hands, they give general direction like 'fast' and can apply any parts they own. Players will be given modifiers they can apply to rolls based on money put into the new tank, perks they earn, and development of the engineering NPC and their workshop. The QM withholds and add parts to the table at their discretion as the quest develops.
Doing it like this ensures strange designs that aren't bogged down by too many building mechanics or long discussions about optimization which you would need a whole lot more info to have.

I have a handle on most of the ideas but I need help. I need to assign numbers and clear benefits/values to the components I keep on the table, I'll need help cutting what's redundant or useless, help learning to roughly math out how fast the vehicles will move and all other relevant specs, how to factor in reliability/shoddy construction, and deciding what can just be ignored for streamlining's sake.

My biggest worry about this is the switch from Classic to Unlimited.
In LGA we know what the tanks are capable of so we can make informed decisions. What I'm planning will have to be much looser; the vehicles will have to perform better then they would in real life otherwise they'd just putz around. More, I feel Unlimited should be defined by oddities and antics, allowing rule-of-cool to take control. I don't, though, want to sacrifice the tenseness of combat and decision making, which knowing your opponent can pull bullshit maneuvers that shouldn't work, would rob you of.
>>
>>31128786
well, if you do get worn down schteel, either physically or mentally, just call in a time out for a while till you feel better. /tg/ and all of us can wait.

Unless I'm just over thinking it, my solution is a meta mechanic; 'Theme Points' being the working name. It's a way to quantify a team's "movie moments" so to speak, so it's something you can account for.
When you study a team you get a reading of how thematic they are, thus roughly how many Theme Points they have. These would be used as a way to keep battles swingy and balance somewhat the teams with a heavy gimmick against the more practical minded ones.
Theme Points can be expended, for example, by a hot-headed team to make a charge successful with fewer casualties, or a stoic team to repel a charge that otherwise would have broken their formation.

The players can take advantage of theme as well; they pretty much will have to as they scrape by. I'm not exactly sure how Theme Points would be implemented or how exactly they would be used, but I have a few ideas. Assuming I want to use them.

As for the rest of the quest, it will be a trimmed down version of LGA unless I can think of something better. Trimmed to compensate for adding new mechanics because too many would kill the playerbase. It would retain the shop and suchlike to keep it, at it's core, a managerial quest.

This wouldn't be Unlimited like it is in LGA. It will have limits. I can't help but feel that anything too close to modern would just ruin it all but I'm not sure what the cut-off point in time should be. I'm not sure what the exact rules of Unlimited would be either.

Now, I've come to you guys to appeal for help. As mentioned before, I have no idea how to figure out the important specs of generated vehicles, even roughly. I need help deciding what should be cut and what shouldn't. I need help adding and balancing new tables. I would like it if you asked questions.
I figure that if anyone would be interested in my idea, it would be the posters that I play with here. Help me out?

I'll post the bit of fluff and a bit of the other mechanics I have next.

Thoughts? Questions?

We felt their Elite Status will cover it, also we needed the engines for our scouts.

We still have 9,900K left for if we really needed it. We can still buy one for the the Tiger II

The reason why the tank is partially randomized is because it's built by an NPC. She has a huge junkpile of random treasures and license to do whatever she likes. She's unhinged but the player doesn't have any alternative. Hey, sometimes she gives you a tank way better then it has any right to be.

To stop the players from rendering every sub-par vehicle to their components and demanding the best possible tank from it, there's included a risk of breaking the nice parts or having the operation be unreasonably time consuming or expensive. The NPC doesn't plan ahead when building tanks, she just does. Because everything's slapdash it's hard for her to work backwards. I'm thinking about putting a morale counter on her that drains if you reject too many of her designs.

The shop works as it already does. There will be parts that are always available which would now include tools and equipment for the tank building NPC. You can buy tanks normally used for Classic which can be cannibalized. You can use those tanks as-is, but you'd get some sort of penalty like a heavy hit to Theme or a morale drain.

I want to allow flamethrowers, engineering vehicles, and placed explosives that go off on a timer if they won't ruin gameplay.
Unlimited is already silly enough that collateral damage can be handwaved away saying the league is better funded. Potential injuries can just be ignored. Within reason, though.

Theme Points, if they're used, would work like this in-universe: you know that feeling you get looking at your painted 40k army or when you get a great idea? That excited hype? That's what Theme Points are.
When they're used in matches in a way like your mental image of the scene, it works because you and your team believe it will work. When the other teams use Theme to counter yours, it's basically a battle of wills. The team with more faith breaks the others' confidence and convinces them THEIR action will work. Something like that. Like Orks.
>>
>>31128871
Too many rules. Just let people go "I wanna put an AWACS on a tank and call it a JSTAR"

"Also let's give it 2 rails of Standards"

Speaking from experience here... I guess mine was just too shitty for anyone to get involved.

tl;dr: Less math, slightly more abstracted, just make a generic "space and weight," thing, so that way you don't get ten thousand ton tanks.
>>
>>31128918
You basically just described how the powers in Godlike work.

They only work so long as the person using them thinks they work, or until they run into another superpowered person who disbelieves.

Then they get into this hilarious contest of wills and someone takes a .30-06 through the dome.

Fuck yeah Godlike.
>>
>>31128832
yes, four good reads, two if we can get into a library to finish that book. i want to know what the perk is! i saw a hint in this thread about it. could it be Rommel's diary?
>>
>>31128852
Might be a last minute deal, depending on what plan we hash out once the Flag tank has been decided.

It's either the Tiger II goes to the uphill, middle bridge and take potshots while engaging in a stare down with the enemy tanks (Improved Engines would benefit most here), or have it go to the dam crossing, which is relatively more flat, to bring it to bear against (possibly) the O-I.
To be fair, it would still benefit from the engines, but I guess anons were looking at priorities first.
>>
>>31128937
How it would work, after modifying the table, is the players give a general direction. I roll for a pre-existing hull behind the screen. All I do then is ask for a series of rolls and a tank is generated. All the junk would be handled by the QM. The players would be shown a dynamically changing table that their rolling for and told very clearly how they can apply modifiers I give them.

I aim to put as little load on the players as possible while keeping everything tight and plausible.
>>
Regarding the abilities, I'm thinking we should equip the load tracers and fire to maybe the delinquents.

I wanna see what this ability can do. It might be usable to counter TD ambushes like what we expect to run into when we fight the russian TD team.
>>
>>31129007
I think taking Potshots will be best, it has the Lockdown command Perk.

We still have time and money for an Engine for the Tiger but we have more important tanks that needed it
>>
>>31129050
As someone who would at least read your OP I can tell you what interests me about games where I get to design stuff (Battletech, Mekton Zeta, Traveller, etc) is that I get to design everything.

Every-thing.

Offloading to the GM isn't what I (I think it might be reasonable to use we in here, I think that sentiment is pretty common on /tg/) would want. I want to pick a hull and decide what systems get integrated into that platform.

I think you should just go a cash economy and players can do whatever they can afford.

I saw a mention of timeline: I like cutting off at 2000. Maybe 1995 or 1990, depending on what era you most wanted to focus on.
>>
>>31129060
Maybe?

i think the one they have is adequete.
>>
>>31129061

How well will the panther do in place of the tiger sniping?

Kinda want to give the kills to another team.
>>
>>31129176
Not good.

The Tiger has an 88, which will be very good for using on the highground and considering how well the Ace's gunner shoot, it will be raining hell fire.

Panther is great, but it is a medium tank. so it's best used for exploiting breakthroughs
>>
>>31129279

Mmm, fair enough.

We also met up with a lot of crews and didnt hand out books. We really need to do so tomorrow.

Is wendy taking the training tomorrow as well?
>>
>>31129120
The trouble I think is, while management is and micromanagement is fun, the format doesn't lend itself too well to it like a single-player game would. Putting too much in the player's hands without clear 'best' options I fear would slow everything down to a crawl.

I want the quest accessible to those who don't know much about tanks or design. I want to showcase what would make Unlimited special, and dividing focus too much would be to the game's detriment.

It wouldn't be devoid of design, in fact I plan for the technical aspect to be more involved then LGA. Just it would be sprinkled with plenty of risk-vs-reward decisions.

Perhaps I'll give over much more for the players to design as the quest develops, just not immediately. I don't want to dump everything on their heads and I would like to have frequent battles.

As for timeline, I was thinking interwar to the 60s. Not sure still.
>>
>>31129361
We're planning on handing the cooking book to the Girl Scouts.

The others....well none of them made sense.

Except maybe giving the Naval Studies or History the Weird Book with the Weird Tank Designs.
>>
>>31129404

The books could be handed out as additional reading material. Reading doesnt need to make complete sense.
>>
>>31129398
I dunno. I guess I'd read.

Sounds like we're not left with much agency but I suppose we have two fairly different ideas.
>>
>>31129176
The range from the highest vantage point (>>31124482) on the road within our side up to the bridge itself (and extending up to the other side of the valley) is within 500 meters.

The Tiger II is the most suitable for the job, but we face the conundrum of not having a big gun to contend with the armor of the O-I, if Chi-ha-tan decides to place it at the dam crossing or a possible fording area downstream.
And it's unlikely that their super heavy would go for this bridge anyway.
It's a pretty thin bridge and the topside would be too exposed for any enemy tank that can sufficiently depress their gun.

So yeah, the Panther (and Sentinel) would be the next best thing to hold the spot.
>>
>>31129435
So far the books we gave made sense, let's keep that trend.

>>31129567
The Tiger II has lockdown though, and their ace gunner can hit anything almost a mile away or more.

This is the case where we have to handle it on our own
>>
>>31129552
Hmm. I didn't think of it but Unlimited Quest does scream design, doesn't it? If I do give agency in the design like I planned it would be too late to get those players interested. Nobody would be very happy walking into a quest thinking it was about something it wasn't.

I might have to rethink how I want to run it or at least rethink my pitch. You've been very helpful Anon, this is a bit to chew on.
>>
>>31129660
>The Tiger II has lockdown though
We can have them switch Command Perks, if it comes to that.
>>
>>31129660

But additional reading material for tankery team members to get insight into getting better at their tanks does make sense.

Also the lockdown can be swapped to a different tank.
>>
>>31129567
The StuG and M4A4 would be enough to hold it. Other then the O-I, CHT lacks any significant armour. I'd rather put our casemate tank destroyer and inexperienced crew to guard it while the mobile experienced ones can go hunting and roaming.

The Tiger should be out leading, having the armour to absorb an ambush. It would of course be supported with a scout like the S35 and perhaps other heavies.
>>
>>31129706
>>31129711
But why switch it?

The Tiger has the Firepower and the Range to deal stuff from a distince?

Why give it to the Panther while strong, the crew less skilled?
>>
>>31129733

Good point.

Casemates are better at defence. That frees out tiger for offence.
>>
>>31129971
But how effective is the gun?
>>
>>31129940

Because we're considering putting the tiger in an offensive mobile posture.

If its going to be mobile, a skill that makes it immobile to increase its firing rate will not be useful.
>>
>>31129940
We don't want the Tiger holding a position, we need it mobile. Lockdown would be just as effective on us or the Panther because all of our guns work just as well against CHTs armour. Not only, the Tiger can't bring it's range to bare on this map effectively. There's too many hills and valleys and the foliage is too thick.

>>31129971
We should also have a third tank with them. If either of the two is dropped it's likely the other would bug out. A third would lessen that and help keep an eye on their flanks better.
>>
>>31130016
Isn't that why we have the 120mm Chi-Ha and the Brumbar as artillery support?
>>
>>31130016
We could just keep two tanks there and have the howitzers blow the bridge.
>>
>>31129940
Because Lockdown would make the Tiger immobile, and from the sentiment of the rest of the anons here, it seems there's a preference to not making it a sitting duck.

It's best for spearheading an assault (ideally against the O-I) supported by other teams.
>>
>>31129993

The Stug mounts the 7.5 cm StuK 40 L/43 gun.

85mm pen at 1000m. Its an extremely effective gun.
>>
>>31130046

I don't think the ITL would like that... replacing bridges are very very costly.
>>
>>31130052
So the Stug, the Chi-Ha and the Brumba will be Artillery Support?

Somua, Scott, and Hellcat are scouts?
>>
>>31130041
Both, I believe, would be best used offensively for lobbing HE and flushing CHT out of cover. I think they should support our advances.

>>31130046
I guess we can, but CHT would likely get there first. I'm not comfortable risking them like that.
>>
Are we going to get Applique armor for the Chi-Ha?

>>
>>31130067
They said they'd pay for it. Trashing an entire town is just as expensive.

>>31130088
Well the bridge is narrow, just blast the first tank and that will bock the whole thing.
>>
>>31130118

Probably not.
>>
>>31130128
That could work but we still have to lure a tank there

and I don't think Chi-Ha-Tan works that way
>>
>>31130181
Then blow it apart with the howitzers.
>>
>>31130219

We might as well leave it.

If they ford, we can use it during pursuit.
>>
I posted what I think our plan should be earlier >>31124936 but let me add a few things.

We won't need to worry about meeting the O-I on the dam because that thing is slow as molasses. Hell, with this terrain I wouldn't be surprised if they opted out of using it.

Rather then having the tanks I wanted to ford, we'll have half of them come up behind the heavies and split off into a third group, while the other half roams on our side watching fording positions on the river and acting as fast response.

I'll reiterate: we need to move in small groups and spread out. CHT will have a stupidly tough time countering when they don't know where we are or where we'll come from.
>>
>>31130260
They will use it, none of their guns can penetrate the Tiger
>>
>>31130275

They don't need to pen though, just put it out of commission.

A good barrage of HE could damage equipment and immobilise the Tiger, rendering it out of the battle.

Much like Kursks did to the maus despite not being able to pen it.
>>
>>31130260
The problem here is, while I proposed the assault on the Dam, there exists a problem that the O-I is large enough to block the entire road Leopon style. If that happens then we got problems.

This is part of the other idea for having our heavies there plus the overwatch. Teams on overwatch provide cover while our heavies nudge the O-I out of the way.
>>
>>31130352

If its doing that, won't our aces be able to just lock on and take it out?
>>
>>31130314
they have to get in really, really close to do that though, not to mention we equiped shurzen and applique armor,
>>
>>31130391
Sure but it's blocking the whole road once its taken out. I'm pretty sure it can dance at long ranges too with its 105 mm gun.
>>
>>31130352
I just checked and the thing is supposed to move at 25km/h. It won't be there by the time we cross the bridge, especially since it has to stick to roads.
>>
>>31130442

Ah.

Then it'll be back to the fording plan.
>>
>>31130457
If we take out the bridge how are we going to take out the flag?
>>
>>31130486

?

I never advocated blowing the bridge.

Just that it's an obvious ambush spot and it'll be better to ford across.
