Scavengers, Trespassers, Adventurers, Lolis, Killers, Explorers, Robbers.YOU ARE LOLI,You're stood before the fresh ruin of Yanov station. Topol's field team, awestruck at the level of carnage the battle inflicted, are standing numbly beside you. There are no signs of your friends, though you can only see the main room through the holes in the walls and the missing doors. They may have taken shelter further in. What you can see easily enough is the missing tank. Some of the wall it was wedged in has collapsed in its absence, and you can see the tracks from its treads reversed out of the building and trailing off along the road into the distance.Beside those, fading in and out as they cross between the dirt and the road, are numerous sets of boot tracks. One of the field team catches your attention, flicking his head to the left, "hey, three o'clock, group heading this way." You follow his gesture and see a ragtag band of men walking towards the station. Even at this distance, you're pretty sure you recognize some of the faces from Skadovsk, even though you're still too far away for them to be able to notice you unless you start moving about.[ ]Search the ruins.[ ]Set out after the tracks.[ ]Wait for the group to arrive.AND[ ]Tell the field team the job's over, they can head back.[ ]Keep the field team with you.

>>31135127"Hey, you guys wait here. I'm gonna check inside." You trot away from the group, leaving them still dumbfounded at the sight. Barring the absence of Vasa and Ice from the tables, everything here is exactly as you left it.You check in the medicine room you woke up in, but the only difference here are some slightly less well-stocked shelves and a distinct lack of Kris. You quickly tear through the rest of the station, but find nothing. No signs of your friends, of where they may have gone, nor of any signs of struggle or resistance.A little disheartened, you head back outside just in time to meet the new group arriving."Giltinė! Good to see you again." The leader of the group, a young man with a somehow familiar face, waves. You stare blankly back at him for a long moment. "Remember me? It's Viktor! You saved me from the bandits when you were getting medical supplies for the doc?"It's enough to jog your memory and you throw yourself onto him, giving him a tight hug. "Why? How come you're all the way out here?""Beard said there was something going on and you needed help. Asked for volunteers. Well, I owe you so I stepped right up. These two, too." He waves a hand at the two young men behind him, both fidgeting nervously. "Pilot led us through a shortcut so we could make it here double-time." You pull him into another quick hug, thanking him for coming, before bringing yourself back to business. You've now got eight bodies, including yourself. A strong enough force, you think, for whatever you might find.[ ]Set out after the tracks with everyone.[ ]Take just one of the two teams.[ ]Go alone.[ ]Other?

>>31135374Shut the fuck up already
>>31135381Just filtered him, don't encourage him retard
>>31135378Small teams have worked fine in the past. If we're up against something we can handle with 3 friends, the science team aren't going to make the difference. May as well give them the chance to bug out instead of getting them killed on what was promised to be a harmless job. Not having the scientists hate us could actually be a good thing some day.
>>31135315Together, you set out along the road, following the deep tracks left by the tanks' treads. It's a pretty easy route to follow. Whenever the tank drifts to one side of the road, you can see deep gouges through the mud, which is then dragged back onto the road, leaving muddy trails along the road. The road itself doesn't seem to have been able to bear the weight of the tank, and you can trace a slight depression into the unmaintained concrete. The boot tracks are somewhat harder to keep track of, with the way they only leave a trace if the wearer steps on something that will track.A few muddy prints every few dozen yards are all you can really follow, though they mirror the path of the tank, so you don't think about it too much. It's a long trip, following these tracks to the north. Something about travelling north just feels right to you. It feels good. You keep walking for almost an hour before they do something... interesting. At a crossroad, one half of boot prints suddenly disappear entirely, while the other half spread out into a bumbled circle around the tank tracks, before both those prints and the tank rotate and head off to the west.As you look about, trying hard to figure out what's happened here, you manage to pick out a set of subtle drag marks, and a few flattened plants and broken twigs, as if someone were slowly and carefully crawling away, leading off to the east. A few dozen yards farther, the drag marks cease and become clear boot prints once more. Five pairs, if you were to guess. Two of the pairs are significantly deeper than the others, as if they were carrying a heavy weight. You stand on the crossroads for a full minute, trying to decide which direction you should go. As your head swivels back and forth between the east and west roads, you once again gaze north, feeling a pull, as if that's the direction you truly want to go.[ ]Follow the boot tracks.[ ]Follow the tank tracks.[ ]Give in to the impulse. Head North.
>>31135407so you want to get rid of them when we've no fucking idea what we're up against just because the mercs in the deadly zone might get a little cut up?...
>>31135453>[ ]Follow the boot tracks.Pretty clear that one of our friends was being dragged/crawling and then were carried awayIf we have a map, lets mark down co-ords where we are and keep track of the boot prints, the direction the tank went, keep note of it all in case we do give in to the impulse and need to find the tracks again.
>>31135453Let's split up gang!>Skadovsk guys go recon following the tank tracks>We are going with the thugs following the boot tracks.North is most likely a trap, the Monolith is calling us.
>>31135476the split up idea could work well, make sure both groups have radios and keep in contact with each other giving progress reports and check-ins
>>31135483>splitting the party is never a good idea.I'm guessing to the West is the tank and all them and East is prisoners that got away maybe, nobody following us knows exactly what went on and anyone we send alone west will run into hostile forces most likely.

>>31135455No, I'm concerned about breaking someone else's property that I was just borrowing. Because when you do that people think you're a dick.
>>31135502Well we'd want them to follow and recon to find out whats up, and not actually engage unless we want to.>>31135515Oh for fucks sake, you make a worse and worse argument each time you post, we asked the scientists for help, they employ the mercs, the scientists told the mercs to do whatever we want, and we need them to help us with the search, rescue and treatment of our friends.Sending them away is fucking retarded. If you haven't noticed, shit is getting real and gearing up, and thinking that we'll be fine with only one squad will get us and our friends killed for fucks sake.
>>31135528>shit is getting real and gearing upSince we are heading north, there is a very real possibility we could run into Monolith troops. So while we need the additional firepower, if we end up mindcontrolled again and kill the science mercs, shit will get bad.Still in favor for keeping them with us though
>>31135528okay yeah I'm down for that then, I vote we send the mercs west as they seem more experienced and would have an easier time moving about stealthily.
>>31135453You push the thoughts aside, turning away from the empty expanse to your north, back to the two teams."Listen, I really need your help right now. There was no sign of my friends back there, so these must be their tracks. But there's two sets and I don't know if it was them running away here, or someone watching them, or if they're with the tank, which would make all of this really dangerous and-"Viktor cuts you off. "Don't worry, we're here to help. We'll come with you. Just tell us what you need." The two men behind him nods enthusiastically. 'Yeah,' 'whatever you need.'Topol chimes in as well, "well, our orders were to bring your friends back. We can't call the job done until we've at least ensured they're safe. We're with you."You nod, reassured by their commitment, and point out to them what you can see from the tracks. "...so someone might have been carried away, right?" Topol nods thoughtfully."Well, I agree that you're right. They could've gone either way. You said your friends were too injured to move, right? So these tracks are probably theirs. But we can't just ignore an unchecked tank."One of Viktor's friends, the one calling himself 'Rabbit', pipes up. "Listen, no offence guys, but I ain't gonna be followin' no tank just to see what it's up to."Viktor nods, "yeah and I don't want to have to ask you to..." he looks to Topol, "you guys are more experienced at this stuff, right? Just as they're making to leave, you call out to Topol once more. "Hey, what's north of here?""North? Uh, the army warehouses I suppose.""Oh. What about north of that?""That's... the red forest." He raises an eyebrow at you."And north of that?""Nothing. It's a radioactive deadzone for miles.""...and north of that?"The assembled men give you a questioning look as Topol finishes. The tank isn't very friendly. They break the connection, and you bring your focus back to the task at hand. And a task it is. You follow the tracks as well as you can, and keep coming across signs that the party you're tracking had passed a particular spot just minutes before you, but then you end up losing the trail again and having to double back. Always, you're stuck just a little way behind, never quite able to catch up.------------------------Three hours later, you find yourself at the crest of a hillock, looking down into a narrow valley. The grass and fauna around here all seems to be yellowed or dying. A large main road snakes its way along the base of the valley below you, towards the far end where a walled off compound straddles the end of the valley. Even from this distance, you can pick out the signs of activity, figures moving to and from each of the buildings, patrols circling the walls, and pickets set up on the road at the main entrance to the compound."That's a good sign," Viktor says, "that's a Freedom base. He starts walking, gesturing for you to follow. "They didn't look too good when they got here, but the guys helped 'em out. Your buddy's still unconscious, but we got him on a blood transfusion. The chick with the arm seems to be fine after we got a healing artifact to her, though. Heh, the babe was so relieved when we told her we wouldn't have to finish cutting her friend's arm off."He leads you along a short path into the main compound. As you turn into the central area, you see a large open-plan bar in the skeletal structure of the building to your left. Laid-back reggae is being played from the bar, and a few small groups of Freedom members are collected about, steadily taking smokey puffs from hand-rolled cigarettes. Past that is another building, this one still with its walls but still open-plan, set up as a vehicle workshop and garage. Though there are no vehicles in it.On your right are a collection of taller buildings, one of them in red brick, one an office block of concrete, and the third, a large warehouse-type, its doors wide open. Through them, you can make out a catwalk stairway leading up to some office buildings on the second floor. The guard gestures to the concrete office block. "You're friends are resting up in one of the rooms in there. When you're ready, the boss would like to see you." He gestures to the catwalk stairway. "Anyway, I should get back. Glad to have you with us!"He heads off, leaving you and your party alone. Viktor glances to you, shrugging, as if to say he's really not needed now. You nod him, dismissing the trio, and they step off to the bar to wait for you. You head into the office block.
>>31136347Passing the threshold into the office building, you can tell it's been abandoned by the men who are otherwise using all the available space here. Possibly the reason your friends are staying here, since there are no Freedom members wandering about. You walk in a random direction for a few paces, checking in each of the rooms, trying to find someone. As you're coming to the end of the first hallway, you pick up the sound of voices from the last room. At this rate, a chimera is nothing; hell we'll be able to use a pseudogiant as a mount by the end of this quest.
>>31140446And by that of course you mean we devour the chimera, right?
>>31140533I didn't write it as "being devoured" for a reason anon.
>>31140548In that line of logic, you also didn't specify which parties were involved. Was it Loli and a chimera, or Kris and Vasa?
>>31140683>or Kris and VasaI'm more than okay with that, but we both know you'll never write it.
>>31140709Joke's on you Anon, Kaleun is going to write an April Fool's thread on the 1st
>>31140683or maybe loli will become the chimera
>>31140766fuck you ;-;
>>31140761Said it before, will say it again. I'll believe it when I see it.
>>31140804Now he has to!
>>31140766Well what did you think we were agreeing to back in that bunker? This is the price you pay if you want to save your friends. I just wonder if they'll be grateful.
>>31140823I have to write a smut scene including both Kris and Vasa!?Oh dear. Well, since you all asked so nicely.
>>31140966 yes YES YES YEEEEEEESSSSSS
>>31140966>includingHow many faceless men will fuck Kris while Vasa is crying in the corner?
>>31140966I don't know whether I should be amused or horrified. Why not both, I guess.
>>31140966>Even if he does write it, it's still a jokeCruel world
>>31141001How long until she tries to sick Loli on them?
>>31141061You got that wrong. Loli will be the one who murders everyone once they are done.
>>31141087>Implying anyone will be left alive after the next battle
>>31140966I'd give that and so much more up just for a scene of Loli and Chocoshota penguin kissing.Did you think that spoiler was going to say holding hands? You sick fuck.
>>31141091Even if we pull through, I think Vasa is done with us. Which is a shame, because my favorite scenes were the ones where we interacted with her. Now all that is left for me is to go full murderhobo.
>>31141099I wonder if Chocoshota survived the Duty attack
>>31141132Kris will try to convince her I think
>>31141166She is more pissed off than ever, I think not even Kris can do anything at this point. Unless we do something absolutely heroic.
>>31141231Well, there's a tank coming we gotta do something about. If we handle this with zero casualties, I think we have a chance.
>>31141166Kris tried, sour as she is. Vasa is just convinced we're more trouble than we're worth. We told her we aren't, because we want to be friends with her. However, that only lends strength to her argument.
>>31141150Of course he did, Anon. He's the final boss after all.>>31141099>pic related>>31141231>Unless we do something absolutely heroic.Like saving an entire Freedom base from a tank without endangering any lives like you usually do?
Rolled 4>>31141276>Like saving an entire Freedom base from a tank without endangering any lives like you usually do?But in order not to endanger Freedom, we would have to solo the tank. That's an awesome idea! Rolling for combat.
>>31141276We don't have the tools to rush out there, engage, and remove the tank before it arrives. There is no way to get through this without somebody dying.
>>31141276>Like saving an entire Freedom base from a tank without endangering any lives like you usually do?Yes, we will find a way to do this. Nobody will die, not even the dutyers. Nobody will know what happened, but it is so going to happen.
>>31141276>Chocoshota is final boss>Goes to the Wish Granter to wish for happiness for Loli>Turns into chocolate golem
>>31141329>>31141342It depends on our tools available.Preferably, I'd want to disable the tank with minimal damage, then give it to Freedom. Then ask them for a ride.
>>31141276>>Unless we do something absolutely heroic.>Like saving an entire Freedom base from a tank without endangering any lives like you usually do?Hey we did pretty well against Kiyaya's men
>>31141373Shit's impossible, didn't you read the notes? Especially backed up by a team of Exosuits.
>>31141276Kaleun you magnificent bastard. I still can't tell if what you're saying about Chocoshota is true. That doesn't mean he won't be the only boss we stop with saccharine childhood love instead of bullets.
>>31141395Contact the Monolith, ask for an emission as a favor for old friendship's sake. Disable tank while dutyers run for cover. Nothing can go wrong.
>>31141441>Contact the MonolithThere is nothing wrong with this.
>>31141441Yes, of course, brilliant plan!
>>31141504>>31141562Okay fine, but what if we could fake one long enough to produce an opening? If you had access to a siren and set it off, even if it isn't quite right wouldn't it still spook everyone?
>>31141679>Activate blowout sirens>Launch red Kool-Aid into the skyI got nothing for the lightning bolts
>>31141765Flashbang grenades on balloons?
>>31141765Well I was hoping that wouldn't be necessary. If one was doing this, they wouldn't need to sell the entire emission, just the idea that one is coming. Hopefully at that point they'll be spooked enough that it takes them too long to realize it's a fake so that we can get in and sabotage shit properly. I really have no idea how viable that is, but the idea amuses me and if it worked it would totally accomplish the 'zero casualties' goal.
>>31141782Where are they gonna get balloons? But I do think you're onto something
Herr Kaleun, about your April 1st idea.Just don't.
>>31141906Fuck if I know. Can a bulldog be modified to fire flashbang grenades?
>>31141974Probably, but in 2 hours? I don't know
>>31141974>>31142100M-m-maybe some of the others can help? I kinda want to do this now. Especially if the next thread is on 1st of April.
>>31142379Someone's going to have to do it, I'm in PST and Kaleun's threads start at like 4 or 5AM
>>31142379If my hunch is true, faking a blowout will be the last thing on the players mind...
>>31142420Say hunch pls
>>31141974The RG-6 grenade launcher, known as ''Bulldog-6'' ingame, fires VOG-25 grenades. It's more of a matter of ''Do we have that kind of grenade?''I haven't seen any info like that, though. I'm sure there's a smoke and a flare VOG-25, but flashbang? I honestly don't know.
>>31142534Checked again. Yes, ''illumination'' rounds are available, it says.Which could be either flares or flashbangs.
>>31142420I don't know, Kaleun might think it's too soon to trick his players again, Everybody is already expecting him to. Giving us the tools to pull a prank ingame would totally be more fun, right? Freedom could even video the whole thing and spread the story until everyone is laughing at Duty.I'll just be over here, dreaming.
>>31142682He is too keen on trolling us for me to have any kind of hope. We'll see though and I'll try to contribute usefully if I'll be there.
Oh don't worry guys, as >>31141955 pointed out, I already have an idea in mind. And it won't interfere with your plans at all.
I'm not /k/ommando enough to know if we could jury rig VOG-25 grenades to replace the frag part with a flashbang, but we could always tryAnd if we have red smoke grenades we could totally use that
>>31142778>Loki's face when we want to use all of his resources on a fucking prankTime to live up to your name.
>>31142752You keep saying things, but I never know what to think about them.
>>31142752fug
>>31142938He just likes trolling, he admitted on multiple occasions he enjoys watching his players panic like headless chickens.
>>31143011But doesn't he know that we love him? Doesn't he know that it's a cruel thing to do to people who love you?
>>31143059Some people enjoy watching other's misery. It's sad, but it's the truth. And if it's true for Kaleun...well, that's unfortunate.
We are the little things that keep him going
Guys what if loli loves felling misery?
>>31143330I would prefer if something like the unanimous vote of "How are our friends?" got him going. I think that was a really heartwarming moment /tg/, well done.
>>31143357Then she is going to chop down the Red Forrest I guess.
>>31143357Then she would have stayed home.
>>31143451
>>31143477But her parents love and miss herHell, her dad is probably going to become a STALKER and look for her
>>31143547I would totally read a oneshot about his misadventures as she tried to enter the zone.
>>31143582he*
>>31143477But if she goes on adventures she can feel betrayal or loss of people she was in life-death situations with or even feeling of being forced to return home and leaving them all behind when they were counting on her
>>31143547Well yeah, we know that because Kaleun told us. But does she know that? Or does she just know that they kept fighting and that somehow it's her fault even if they say it's not? Does she just know that everything she does, everywhere she goes, she makes people unhappy? Maybe she thought finally the curse was lifted and she could be happy with her new friends. If only she could finally be happy.
>>31143648If she would finally convert to the one true religion of Monolothism she could be happy.
>>31143669I'm glad I'm not the only Monolithian here.
>>31143669>>31143758Scum
>>31143785Says the heretic scum.
>>31143669That's the worst part isn't it? Knowing that even though it wasn't the real you, your real feelings, that everyone around you were being controlled by... something, it's still the happiest you've ever felt. The monolith is shit though, if it really loved you it wouldn't need to mindrape you. Also, 404 soon fellow anons.
>>31143827I don't know about you, but I'd say that ignorance is bliss at times.
>>31143827>Also, 404 soon fellow anons.Good hunting, stalker.
>>31143825Duty is the one true pathNeedless to say I'm not a fan of Loli siding with Freedom
>>31143827I'll take an illusionary existence where I'm happy over the truth any day.>>31143856Agreed.>>31143872Agreed as well, never liked Freedom all that much. Unfortunately Duty was kind of an asshole here.
>>31143865>that missionI could take them all down with my knife. Ezy pzy.>>31143872I'm not a fan of Loli siding with anybody other than the Monolith.
>>31143910To be fair, we did murder loads of people
>>31143950I would have went along with them if they approached from a different angle, but bursting into neutral territory with a tank, threatening us and our friends while they have no jurisdiction. Nope.
>>31143872I was hoping we would never have to pick a side because fuck if I wanted to kick that horse. Strictly speaking, we never actually did choose one, so I guess that's okay. It's not like we've joined Freedom yet and I doubt we're going to. What does Loli care for stupid ideologies?
>>31143994Fair enoughAlthough if I was Duty, I'd be a little afraid of confronting Giltinė
>>31144044We should totally send back the tank to the base with the Duty members impaled on newly installed pikes on the tank."Please send me more toys!"
>>31144104Jesus Christ no.
>>31144104I don't think there's going to be a way to preserve this tank
>>31144044I understand wanting to bring a tank just because god fucking damn that girl has pulled some shit, but they still chose to burst it right into a neutral hub while she was surrounded by innocent bystanders. Even though I strongly advocated surrender at the time, the ultimate responsibility for those deaths are still with Duty. And that makes them assholes.
>>31144193True though if I could take it back I wouldRIP Sergei
>>31144180Then we'll leave the head-pikes on the smoking husk of whatever's left of the tank.Just so long as we get the message across.
Giltinė quints get
>>31144233Well yeah, I also still think it was the wrong decision to make, but what's happened has happened. Now I'll just have to fight to make Loli actually feel sorry about the decision she made, even though she had good reason to make it. And to fake a blowout because god that would be so funny.
>>31144460Why do you want her to feel bad about it if she had a good reason to do it?
>>31144488Because Sergei diedJust because you're in the right doesn't make it the right thing
>>31144488Well, we'll feel bad about Sergei getting killed and Vasa getting almost crippled, then severe radiation poisoning. And Kris maybe has PTSD.
>>31144526Hawaiian also has PTSD
>>31144526>Kris maybe has PTSDThat reminds me......of horrible, horrible things.
I love my players. Also, to whoever archived. Loving the description.
>>31144522You're still contradicting yourself.
>>31144565>I love my players. We'll see on the 1st then.
>>31144565 we love you too
>>31144586We were in the right to defend ourselves and our friends, but dozens died in the process; thus it was not the right thing to do.
>>31144565
>>31144488Because it was an actual gosh darn dilemma between two decisions with consequences that she couldn't accurately predict so naturally if the one that happened didn't turn out very well you'll feel sorry about the decision you made because you're still not sure what was the right way to go and you'll never know?Because her decision was influenced by her fear that her friends would be killed without her being able to do anything?Because she's a child and in no way rationally thinking being who thinks that everything bad is somehow, one way or another, her fault? You can pick either, really, they all work for me.
>>31144666It was still the right thing to do even if the results were inconvenient, and there's no reason to believe that a less inconvenient result would definitely be achieved by having had pursued a different path. Moreover, there is not an option to undo that choice and pick something else, so feeling bad about it accomplishes nothing.
>>31144780>It was still the right thing to do even if the results were inconvenientI fundamentally disagree with you on this, even if we didn't have the meta-knowledge that the trail was fair, we could have gleaned that from knowing Duty is lawful and that we had many allies of Duty, even the tank driver.
>>31145003They weren't lawful. They drove a tank into a neutral zone and prepared to open fire.
>>31145139I'm using lawful in DnD terms, as in they follow a code and are predictableThe Zone has no laws
>>31145154A neutral zone is an informal standard of the highest order. D&Ds fucktarded alignment system does not warrant a pass.
>>31145195Then replace lawful with ordered, whatever, point is they stick to their word
>>31145272How many times have they shown that to Loli? Because the tank is a really fucking big counterpoint. And don't say that other fuck, because everybody hated him.
