Previously: Asherah summoned herself into being during Asher's performance for the Sunday choir. Choice Hills Baptist fell under the purview of this goddess scorned. A woman uttered her reverence for Yahweh in her presence, a blasphemy that was answered with a “cleansing” from the goddess.

Tensions ran high with a new internal dispute between Asher and Aerin as one clearly disapproved of the others' way of handling things. With Aerin held at bay, Asher reasoned with the Goddess and helped her reach a conclusion that subsided her wrath.
With a parting blessing to a band of seven, the Goddess returned to her plane of existence, returning the place to a degree of sodden normalcy as Asher got to work awakening others.

Aerin met her end by Eshe's hand, the loyal follower finally resolving that the strong-woman was beyond help.

A half hour later, most of the people trapped within the church have been put through the process. Hot Rod noticed a subtle rumbling with his enhanced perceptions

After a trying skirmish with unknown forces, the party commandeered a truck to escape with a weakened Eshe.

Now: Asher sleeps, visiting higher forces that he's dealt with in the past.

It is Currently July 6th, a Sunday and around late noon.

Anus-dwelling cephalopod reporting in.
>>
The dusky atmosphere of the bedroom blooms with warmth as Lucifer summons forth once more the Pyromancer's flame, weaving it between her fingers and relishing in the warmth of the living fire.
You note that it looks very different from what you would expect of a normal flame. It does not necessarily rise in its flares, instead more keen on dancing to the motions of her fingers and then of course there's the fact that it doesn't require fuel to burn. Could that just be the effect of the astral realm however?

“This is a different magic from the ones you have learned thus far. You will require my assistance to teach you. I would be willing to do so if at any time you intend and have the potential for learning.” She stares down at the flames as their orange glow paints her blonde hair the colors of the sun, her blue eyes taking on an almost violet sheen.

Sitting up against the headboard you almost want to reach out and touch her, to feel that mystical beauty. Biting back your desires you remind yourself that this is Lucifer, for all you know it could be a trick.
“So. As long as I'm in your good graces I'll be able to learn more pyromancy?”

She nods, a sincere smile finding its way across her pink and fiery lips,”Think of it as my investment after your good faith. I'll have more for you after you accomplish my next task...”

“And what is that?”

“Two things, and they both might be accomplished.” She takes a deep breath, swallowing the pyromancer's flame,”Yet before they, I'd have you kiss me to share this knowledge of fire.”

Grinning, you want to throw back your head and laugh as she cat-crawls onto the bed, that mystic fire pouring from her lips,”Real forward of you, isn't it?”

“You made the choice to see me this way, what's the harm in a little fun?” She whispers before drawing her mouth open, her tongue snaking out like a serpent's, bathed in flames. “Promise I don't bite.”
>>
“That's not what worries me.”

She puts her hands upon your shoulders as you trace yours around her waist, falling lower into a less respectable grip as she straddles you. Pushing a lock of hair out of her face, she leans in, touching your hair, gripping it gently as she ruffles your elegantly disheveled hair.
You can feel the fire of her breath, and the heat of her lower body pressing against you as she stares deeply into your eyes for a moment.

You slowly close your awareness as you feel her lips against yours, a hot flame entering your mouth and touching your breath, setting your lungs aflame. You breath out heat as the long and passionate kiss continues, rolling deeply to touch every part of your mouth as you drink and breath in this transferal of power, knowledge.

Soon the flame ends, and you still feel a little warm. Pulling away, there's a strand of saliva between the two of you as she rests her head upon your shoulder, her other hand sliding down to grip against your chest.
“The other tasks,” She whispers into your ear, breathing gently and so close that you can almost feel it inside of your head. “Awakening is not enough. They must desire enlightenment. But you must also not lie for the devil's tongue may only ever speak truth however bent it may be.”

“The same enlightenment that the followers offer?”

“Yes and no. Yes, they must strive for greater power and their liberation. But no, they need not join the Followers. You may however have them join you.”

“Me?” You ask, feeling the warmth inside you. It's not your real body, and that just seems to make the presence of the flame all the more surreal.

“Yes you.” She traces your ear with her nose, breathing in gently, “I want them to follow you. I want you to lead them. You have power Asher, and it's more than mere magic.”

“And the other task?” You squeeze her hips gently, receiving a little giggle as she shifts herself closer as she drapes herself around you.
>>
“The other,” she throws her head back, letting her hair fall around the other side of you as she switches ears. “I want you to save someone from themselves.”

“Sounds difficult.” You say almost passively, flicking your eyes over to see one of those crystal clear blue eyes looking at you half-lidded and dreamy.

“Yes, but it's something good. So many humans destroy themselves without ever realizing their true potential.” She kisses your cheek, a chaste peck compared to the passion earlier, “So many wither away and die.”

“You didn't say that they needed to be awakened.”

“Because they don't need to be or may already have, that choice is yours.”
“In any case, it would be very interesting for you to succeed. You like manipulating others yes? Having them listen to you? Rely on you?” Her voice is hypnotic and undulating, and you're aware of the effect she must be having on you.

But you don't care. She isn't wrong. You reply with a smile, a deep toothy grin ripe with the malice and sadism you've harbored since before you possessed power.

She is right. You love control.

You tremble, squeezing her flanks as you think on just how much you love power and she shifts over you, rubbing through the covers,”Yes Asher, that's it. You know what you love. Do what you, and be who you are.”
She wraps her arms around your neck and rests her head upon your shoulder,”This is why I love humans like you so. Ambition, pride, rebellion... It justifies my existence.”

You feel one of her hands crawl onto your face, obscuring your vision,”Yet for now, you must return. You will face adversity shortly.”
>>
Your vision returns and you are back in the first part of your dream experience. The back of the truck with the Hydra and Wendigo staring at you expectantly. Helia's form seems to be trembling, hands wrapped around her shoulders. Fear? Cold?

“Back. Shall we negotiate our contract?” The Wendigo bows its snow-grey head and horns, leering expectantly with shining red eyes.
The two Hydras keep on snapping at each other, seeming to be playing a game, or training?

>>
Do not try to eat or injure me, Asher, or any of those I designate as allies unless I explicitly inform you that they are no longer allies. Followers are all designated allies by default. Individuals that they clearly and deliberately move to kill or capture me through the use force lose ally designation.

Do not act against uninvolved mundanes without my approval. Do not interact with individuals who Followers are awakening. You may freely consume the corpses of all people who fail to awaken or are killed by myself or other Followers. You may not consume persons awakened by Followers before they choose their paths. Those who choose the Path of Blood may be freely consumed. Those who walk in peace may not be consumed or killed unless they make actions which contradict their path.

All this, yes?

A sec, Wendigo needs to look over it.
>>
Also: As the calm before the storm, you have 4 LIMIT to spend and Pyromancy and Divination are currently rank 1. Divination rises in rank alone, and it's used with a -mancy as a medium.

You could take an oath to only use one medium as a -mancy for divination.
>>
After some brainstorming, I've figured that the best way to get at the hoover dam will be to use acid, which I'm pretty sure the Hydra will get when we pump more juice into it. Acid because concrete is mostly calcium, and acid kicks calcium butt.
>>
>>31149207
Can we upgrade Pyromancy one and bank the other 3?
>>
>>31149165
If you can find that one comment about defense I made, then I agree.
>>
>>31149222
Pyromancy is already at rank 1. it costs 2 points to upgrade.
>>
>>31149165
I'm not too fond of using the Follower's line of thinking for our personal dealings. Terms like the Path of Blood don't need to come up, and if the Followers are automatically "allied," a "currently" or the like should be thrown in. The sentiments aren't too bad, but I worry that making it over long may test his patience and worsen our negotiations.
>>
>>31149234
Forget it then. Bank all 4.
>>
>>31149241
>test his patience and worsen our negotiations.
He'll just ask for more in return.
>>
>>31149234
I'd be fine with a level in Aero and Pyro.
>>
>>31149221
I'm not completely sure if I want to flood Vegas with water, let alone fucking acid. I know it would probably be diluted enough to not matter, but still.

>>31149234
Can we grab geomancy (whatever it's supposed to be called) so we can have all our cardinals down?
>>
>>31149207
how much would leveling our hydrokenesis cost? If it's too much i vote for leveling aerokinesis and Illusions.
>>
>>31149165
we need to know about Wendigo reproduction. I mean spawn, I mean how the curse spreads and if he has any power over those that originate from him, otherwise he needs to not create new ones without permission.
>>
>>31149234
We need Pyro and Aero at two to use learn Alchemy right?
>>
>>31149207
Okay, let's level Ice with 2 of those points so we have an Adept rated defense.

And raise Materia Firma or Pyromancy to Apprentice.
>>
>>31149234
I vote for keeping the points for the next Summoning upgrade. Since everyone is paranoid about summons disobeying us. Higher level can start to wipe that fear out. Along with contracts of course.
>>
>>31149165
Do not try to eat or injure me, Asher, or any of those I designate as allies unless I explicitly inform you that they are no longer allies.
Wendigo approves.

Current Followers are all designated allies by default. Individuals that clearly and deliberately move to kill or capture me through the use force lose ally designation.

Wendigo Approves.

Do not act against uninvolved mundanes without my approval.
Wendigo asks for a condition: "On full moons from sunset to sunrise I wish this to be removed so that I may rampage as I please. Unless you are willing to offer something of equal or greater value."
>>
>>31149321
When is the next full moon?
>>
>>31149321
I accept the corollary.
>>
>>31149321
Tell him he has to tell us before he rampages, and we will designate him a fair location to do so in that won't hinder our plans. Win win.
>>
>>31149338

Full moon: July 12, 2014

6 days from now.
>>
>>31149321
He may only rampage a set distance from areas we are operating in. otherwise i'm fine with letting him rampage.
>>
>>31149376
>>31149321
I accept his conditions.
>>
>>31149321
I have a counter-proposal...on full moons, you are to take from nearby thirty people, and bring them and myself to a secure location. I shall attempt to awaken them, and those that fail shall make your fill. You will attack them one by one, giving them ample opportunity to awaken, but if they cannot summon forth magic then they shall become your meal. It is up to you to ensure the thirty-person quota is filled.
>>
>>31149321
If he's going to rampage we really need to know if Wendigo;s make more Wendigos, because that is asking for a Wendigo-Apocalypse, or at least getting devoured by a pack of fresh, uncontracted ones.
>>
>>31149395
This is good, and this>>31149427 is better. Love it
>>
>>31149372
This is acceptable.

>>31149321
>Do not act against uninvolved mundanes without my approval.
Wendigo approves with the condition of Full Moon rampages in a fair location with prior warning.

>>31149165
>Do not interact with individuals who Followers are awakening
Approved.

>>31149165
>You may freely consume the corpses of all people who fail to awaken or are killed by myself or other Followers.
Wendigo enjoys this.

>>31149165
>You may not consume persons awakened by Followers before they choose their paths. Those who choose the Path of Blood may be freely consumed. Those who walk in peace may not be consumed or killed unless they make actions which contradict their path.

Wendigo requests clarification... And approves.

Wendigo's other condition is met with the corpse disposal clause.

>>31149430
Wendigos only create more by making humans cannibalize.
>>
>>31149427
Unacceptable Wendigo desires a degree of freedom.

This may be done upon new moons however. No need to include this in the contract, this may be done as a "Volunteer" service.

What about this? I feel its fair
>>
>>31149481
We should give our Wendigo a name, making it our Wendigo. I say we call him Donner, after the Donner party and their cannibal shenanigans.

We should call our Hydra something that has to do with the three stooges. I'm thinking we name middle head Moe, left head Curly, and right head Larry. Or we could refer to them collectively as Ted.

>>31149601
Tell him he's getting to be a real pain in the ass, and we're almost ready to summon a more agreeable minion.

The fact that Dran has even responded to some of these suggestions is representative of a pretty good show on his part. And his actions last thread. If you want a sock puppet, you should have gone for a thoughtform.

Donner agrees to instruct them in all prior clauses pertaining to harm/not harm. with exception for mundanes.

If this is agreeable the contract is done.
>>
>>31149782
>Donner agrees to instruct them in all prior clauses pertaining to harm/not harm. with exception for mundanes.
This doesn't exactly equate to not getting fucked by a crowd of fresh Wendigos, unless his 'instruction' is binding.
>>
>>31149601
Ok, a few points...
1. Can we ask him about the current Wendigo population, if any?
2. Would he accept a limitation on the number of Wendigos he may help to create during a full moon?
3. Would he accept that he may not use the full moon period to conspire against us or our cause?
>>
>>31149811
>Unacceptable, the demon has an agenda.

>>
>>31149782

>>
>>31149838

Guys, humanity doesn't matter anymore. Humans are weak, fickle creatures, fuck them.

We're going to become the Arbiter.

What we do is we summon a host of mythical creatures, help them fulfill their agendas and begin propagating their species. We set them on the road to becoming badasses, ending contracts with an air of mutual agreement and amiability. Then, when the world is full of monsters, we can walk around with impunity since the existence of all these monsters is owed directly to us.

>though they may be spiteful if you deal with them again.
So we're locked into one creature of the same type then? What if we want to summon a different wendigo? Or are all wendigos just manifestations of one wendigo overmind?

If that's the case, then what happens if we need to do battle with someone else that has a wendigo?

>>31150337
But we both know that Lucifer is the great deceiver, and is only taking it easy on us for now so that she/he can weasel into our good favor when she/he decides it's time to do some really fucked up shit.

You and Donner eventually settle upon a contract after some talk.

You let him rampage once in a full moon and he pretty much attacks and eats who you tell him to and doesn't for who you don't want to.

“It is a fair contract. You are a worthy summoner. Ah, one last thing... I prefer to manifest through the dead. I will use some of my own power to ease summoning if you do so. Otherwise, I will let you bear the brunt.”

“Fair enough. I summon you into a cadavar and you talk part of the burn. Cool.” You scratch your head, only to realize that here it's much less... vivid. Just a lightform.

“I'll likely be summoning one of you soon. Sit tight.”

“Goodbye Summoner.” The demon growls.

“Bye-Bye!” The Hydras hiss in unison.

You wake yourself up, relieved to hear the rumble of the truck, the slow groaning of Eshe still wearing her titanic form. You take a hard look at Helia as she stares back at you, her teeth chattering as frost grips her body.

“Fuck's wrong with you?” The first thing you say and the first thing you hear since your eardrums were ruptured. Goddamn your head feels good right now.

>Burn reset to: None

“C-cold A-Ash-sher...” She extends a trembling hand, shaking uncontrollably as her veins flare up randomly, her fingers look frosted over.
“C-could y-you?” She seems to plead but unable to say much else.

Now's a good a time as any to try Pyromancy right?

While I don't mind keeping her as a longterm project, I'm not sure she qualifies for Lucifer's quest; the worst thing she does is follow Asher, and while making her into someone that still followed Asher but due to their own strong independent beliefs would be kind of cool, I don't see it as worth the risk compared to finding someone who isn't already part of the Asher Cult of Personality and rising uplifting them.
>>
You unbuckle your seatbelt, finding your equilibrium restored with your eardrums and cross the couple meter wide gap to sit beside her. She touches you, with a shivering smile, frost upon her breath as her veins keep pulsating.
You touch her arm without sparing any time, finding that indeed, she's terribly cold to the touch. Hell, you'd likely get frost-bite just through extended contact. Shaking your head at the poor woman, as you channel your power into her, going real easy at first.

The shivers stop almost immediately, and she moves to wrap her hands around yours for warmth.

You comply, though frown a bit at the increased cold, with exception that you're the one averting it. You find that you're a bit more skilled in the art of Pyromancy than you thought you'd be.
Helia's shivers end, and you see blood seep out of her wounds, causing her to cringe.

The pock-marks of red you saw before, she got shot up pretty bad from what you can see. Removing her hands, she starts shivering again as her body freezes over the wounds. “I-I don't really know what to do. I took o-out the b-bullets.. B-but I still n-need to stop the blood somehow...

“I could burn it shut for you.” You frown, remembering the time you burned Fara so many weeks ago. “It'll hurt like hell, and it'll scar, but you won't be bleeding or shivering anymore.”

You pause for a moment, looking up from the wounds and examining her face,”You didn't have a problem with this before. Have you been doing your breaths?”

She sucks in breath painfully, staring at you for a moment before looking away,”I-I guess I c-could do them again. I-I realized I was d-doing it a lot m-more than I probably should.”

“Do it then. I'll cauterize if it doesn't help. Remember what I told you, fight for yourself before asking others.”
>>
She looks back to you amidst the pain with a bit of admiration in her eyes,”Y-yes Asher.”

You shake you head, Stupid bitch.

You get up, taking stock of what all's on this rig. You can only guess at what some of the tech back here is used for. But it seems centered around those fucking mechs.
No way the military is just going to let this go.

You head up front with a backwards look to Eshe as she acts like dead weight. You really hope that she's not dead at least.
Opening the door that separates the trailer from the cabin gives you a splendid view of Hot Rod still mildly freaked the fuck out, some brain matter on the window, and two corpses riding shotgun with bullet holes right in the part that their helmets don't protect. Under their jaw.

Hot Rod got real close and personal with this one.

“What's goin on man?”
“Shit dude, you can walk again? Shit dude, you can hear again?” The Truck swerves, forcing you to adjust your footing and hold on for dear life as Hot Rod looks forward again.

“The fuck! You get your license from chinatown?!” You yell as you kick one of the corpses to the side to take a seat.

“Sorry man, I'm freaking sorry, okay? I'm just a little fuck'n freaked out right now. The fuck were those things?!”

“Looked like giant robots to me-”

“I mean those black things. I've never seen shit like that man. Was fucked up.”

“Ah, those things...” You stick a finger in your ear, pushing away some of the blood and fluid that leaked out,”Did something to my eardrum. We need to watch out for them.”

“And Eshe man...”
>>
“What'd Eshe say?”

“Eshe said she might not make it man. Offing Aerin took a bit out of her she said, and then what she had to do to match those things. Fuck man, FUCK!” Hot Rod slams the steering wheel, swerving again and sending the whole truck swaying.

“Calm the hell down Hunter,” Your voice taut and restrained,”You're just gonna throw her around back there.”

“Sorry man, I'm sorry.” He wipes away some forming tears with the shoulder of his shirt, keeping his eyes on the road.
“So, Vegas next right? What're we gonna do?”

You see some signs ahead telling you that you're reaching the end of the city limits and getting back on 160, you can go south or north.

North is the longer way around to Vegas, while South is more direct and shorter.

There is a 0% chance this truck doesn't have a GPS tracker in it. No need to let them hit us on the open road.
>>
>>31151451
>[] Tell him to go the longer route.

We need some time to recover, jack a new vehicle, and they're probably expecting us to go to Vegas and if I was them I'd set stuff up to intercept us, so let's not take the obvious and direct route.
>>
>>31151451
>something else
Take the wheel, and tell him to get some rest. We should go the longer route. Put a wall of ice up in the middle of the short road first, to make them think we blocked off that road so they couldn't follow us as easily, guaranteeing a wild goose chase down the wrong road.

Before doing anything, check for tracking devices, disable all auxiliary electronics if we have to.

We'll probably have park for a minute or so to do this shit, so we should put up illusions to keep them from seeing us on the side of the road.
>>
>>31151602
Oh, and if we find some kind of tracker, attach it to a thoughtform raven and tell it to fly down the short road at vehicle speed.
>>
>>31151586
I'll need to set up the particular "divination" rules first.

Now's also really not a good time to meditate on that.
>>
>>31151602
>>31151451
I don't think Asher knows enough about trucks or military tracking devices for that to work. Honestly jacking another car would be better and then Asher could put a rock or ice block on the pedal of the truck so they will keep tracking it while we make our getaway.
>>
>>31151735
>put a rock or ice block on the pedal of the truck so they will keep tracking it while we make our getaway.
haha, just let it drive off into the desert. Nice.
>>
“Go down the long road, less chance of them actually being there, it'll take more time for them to catch up.” You look at the systems from the passenger's side seat, examining what appear to be radios, keyboards for web-browsing inputs among other things that likely relate to systems in the trailer.

You start flipping some of the switches into what you can see is the “off” position in an attempt to reduce their ability to track the vehicle. Hunter turns to go up 160 Northbound, merging into almost nonexistent Civilian traffic with a truck that must quite obviously military with a gial alligator monster in the rear trailer.

Oh yeah, that's perfect.

There's one switch that you accidentally flip on and hear a sudden, “Hey you!-” Before you flip it back to off.

Your finger hovers above the switch, should you turn it back on?

>[] No.

>>
>>31151735
How the fuck do you intend to get Eshe into another car? Also, we're on a desert road in the middle of the night, not gonna be a lot of suitable cars hanging around.

We can find a work around I'm sure, Asher has got to know how trackers work, at least a little, it's the modern age. Hot Rod may be able to find something that doesn't belong, his name implies he may know about vehicles, just tell him to scrap any electronics that look like they don't need to be there.

Ok...

Dran did you -really- just separate Pyromancy from Divination and make them require individual point input? You realize that it's essentially worthless now, right? As far as I can tell, it's just prettier Pyrokinesis.
>>
>>31152312
Of course pyromancy and divination are different things, why would you think otherwise? That's like expecting water and illusion to be the same thing, they are different as fuck.

Even without divination I think pyromancy is useful as hell, way more useful than pyrokinesis could ever be.

Also, you're post is obscenely late, wtf?

“You sent them after me you rooty tooty bitch! Don't get pissy when I smash them 'cause the people inside are shit. Why don't you give them to pilots that don't suck gratuitous dick!?” You yell back into the mic, startling Hot Rod that just keeps his eyes on the road.

He mumbles “Dude,” and “shit.” now and again for the remainder of this conversation.

They all go NUUU you have to do this ultra cool super fucking amazing surgery on goddamn cripples and dumbass convicts that don't know what the hell sides you put a battery in!”

“Who the fuck actually lets you do that shit? You sound like a sick perv or something. Fucking hell man.” You roll your eye, actually bringing yourself a modicum of calm as you resolve to troll information out of this guy.

“Y'know what, I don't have to tell fucking Sand-niggers. 'Specially not when you're gonna die.”

“Ooh, I'm so scared! You gonna send more mechs to scrap after- Wait, Sand Niggers?!”

“Uh huh, fuck'n dead sand-niggers. Wraiths' gonna get yah. Oh, and I already updated them to account for sub-optimal frictionless combat in open and confined spaces. You're gonna fucking kill that guy. You swear to whatever god. You're gonna kill that guy.

Well, at the very least, you know that something's inbound.

A look forward through the windshield and to either side reveals that there's just a few civilian cars on either side of the road.

Nothing amiss here, right?

In working the world events of the setting I approximated especially horrible points of conflict and poor living conditions. Then I decided about~ what would take place with the sudden change in the world.

Make of that what you will.

On the one hand, wendigo contract doesn't seem like complete shit.

On the other hand, Dran fucked up on how he set up the Pyromancy+Divination mechanics and then fell asleep before we got to the interesting parts. Again.
>>
Guys let's talk about Lucifer some more. What are your guys opinion on this shit? On one hand it's Lucifer. On the other hand. She/he/it is giving us powers and is really one of the most honest and reasonable people we've encountered so far.
>>
>>31154241
The last time we had a wendigo on /tg/ she ate her potential boyfriend.
>>
>>31154270
He's playing the long game and setting the world up for Chaos route. I did find it kind of weird that he specifically said he wanted Asher to become a leader, since instating a leader seems to go against his mythic archetypes. I guess it fits in that Asher is currently rebelling against his sovereign, but I expect Lucy'd compelled to undermine us if we became a sufficiently powerful leader in our own right.
>>
>>31154351
Maybe he genuinely likes Asher? I mean he has been watching us masturbate.
>>
>>31154363
Sure, he likes us now, but he is the embodiment of rebelling against authority; what happens when Asher stands equal to any other earthly power? Or even just when he is an authority figure in his own right?
>>
>>31154270
I think that Lucifer has an interesting contrast with Asherah.

Lucifer starts us off small, something we're already doing, and quickly escalates demands. But at least they're honest about what the job entails.
Asherah asks us to murder a priest in front of their congregation. Oh by the way, SURPRISE! I'm going to take the body for use as my avatar on Earth.

Lucifer wants Asher to be strong and rewards him handsomely for success. He/she/it even gives multiple good options.
Asherah is reluctant to offer good rewards and attempts to screw us out of more magic by making the 'reward' fixing injuries sustained on the job.

Lucifer wants to make his/her/its visiting spirity domain place all comfy and shit. Changes it up to make Asher feel welcome and happy.
Asherah tries to control her realm to make herself happy. She even tries to control Asher's appearance with the white robes and the must be clean shaven and such. Also the "don't curse in front of me" thing.

There's more, but I'm running out of post space and I'd rather go read some quests that have a QM not falling asleep than sit here talking about Lucifer/Asherah. Dran, get yer ass back in here.
>>
>>31154420
Call me crazy, but I don't really think Lucifer would do that. He represents rebellion with a purpose and encourages wisdom and power. If we straight up decided to take control from... whatever reign Lucifer currently has, then yeah, he would actively do something.
>>
>>31154420
Lucifer seems pretty alright with high ambitions. As long as we don't become the type of authority that really needs rebels against it, though I can't really see Asher being all that much of an authority figure.

>>31154436
In the interest of fairness I will point out that not many beings could have healed us, and she is literally the only source of magical healing that we are on speaking terms with. And it probably took a lot of magic power to do it.

Yes, she's a control freak, and a bit of a bitch, but we still have a lot of use for her. Something to remember, she's going to make herself out to be more powerful than she currently is, I get the feeling she's far from her full strength, but she still has a lot of pride and is somewhat touchy.

Lucifer is easier to work with, but in an understandable way. She wants to be treated like a Goddess.
>>
I'm still not exactly sure why we really want to make Asherah more powerful. After the shit that happened in the church, I think it's pretty obvious that nothing good will come from making her stronger.

Her final goal is probably to drown the whole entire planet in water.
>>
>>31154584
>I'm still not exactly sure why we really want to make Asherah more powerful.

>>
You tell Hot Rod to keep an eye out for a truck so that you all can make a switch as soon as possible to get out from under their radar. You didn't like your first dealing with the “wraiths” and don't plan to see to a second.

Feeling restless in your chair graced by the presence of two dead bodies on the floor, you head back into the trailer, acknowledging Helia that's deep in her breathing exercises, body glowing subtly with whites and blues flowing through her veins and arteries.

Passing her, you head on back to see Eshe. She still holds herself up against the wall, breathing in quietly and letting it out in subtle hisses given her form.

“Asher...” She groans with her solemn pain.

You put a hand upon her scaled thigh, frowning sadly at the Follower,”Hey Eshe. Sorry I couldn't hear ya earlier. You doin alright?”

“Better... Sleep is good. We are being followed... Aren't we?”

You incline your head, sighing out,”Yeah, and it's not good. Guy who made those things? He's mad. No idea how many it's going to be.”

“Let them come. They walk the blood... We will end them... By Susej, his name, his light, and his liberation.” She brings up a fist, clenching it before herself, nearly shaking with resolve and pain as she seems to pray a little.

“Sorry Eshe. You shouldn't have met an ass like me. You might've been in a better condition right now.”

“No. No What-ifs Asher... Just what is. I will fight them if they come.. It is simple as that.”

“Tough girl aren't you?”

“I am a woman.”

“You really don't look like it.” You grin up at her sadly.

She just kind of chuckles sympathetically, Very true.”

You sit back down, biding your time, waiting for the inevitable.
>>
Hot Rod never successfully found a truck on this road.

You feel it first from the trailer's side, and then it rumbles throughout the entire vehicle before part of the whole thing spins out to one side, sending you up against the wall, struggling to not hurt yourself against the tech as momentum and gravity takes control.

Before you know it between the rumbling and rocking, the whole rig comes to a stop after nearly rocking over presumably if not for Eshe's weight.

Rising from nearly busting your face, you bear a grim resolve to deal with whatever's out there. It's just another obstacle keeping you from what you want after all. And this time? You've got a new power.

>End Thread. QM victim of Somnus.

Mustang mode!

>>31155547
I really would love to go mustang mode on this.

Also, if you don't mind me asking, about where do Hot Rod and Helia sit in terms of power? If you gauge it vaguely by how many LIMIT points worth of spells they have, more or less raw points in it than Asher?
>>
>>31155540
I want to save it for Summoning. All the OP things we could summon but not enough skill for it. We also really need to work on our drain. We burn way to quickly
>>
>>31155547
Something else to consider with Aerokinesis.

Sound travels through AIR. Aerokinesis controls AIR.

We should be able to use it to make a vacuum wall / bubble around the wraiths and prevent their screeching bullshit.
>>
>>31155547
Since we know these things have pilots in them, they must have a cockpit. Would we be able to ignite the inside of the cockpits next time they show up?
>>
>>31155560
Hunter's looking at more unspent points.
Helia's about equal, and a little less than Asher but she's been focusing on fewer things.

This tactic was actually going to be employed by someone in the future. Good show though with the now.

I really, really don't want to get hit with another blast of screechy screechy.
Hi Jackie.
>>
since we're in the desert we should summon something with an advantage. Like some rocs or sand devils or giant sand wurms
>>
>>31155602
>giant sand wurms
We can try summoning the Dune worm. But I really don't want to make another contract and spend 3 fucking hours talking about it.
>>
>>31155607
Yeah. Summoning is cool as an NPC making skill, but sometimes you just need to apply some force. We'd never need to spend hours talking to our fireball if we decided to just nuke everything with Pyromancy.
>>
>>31155618
I guess I'm just saying that we need to be able to summon up some mindless goons that smash what we tell em to smash.

Whether that is something that will come with Higher ranks in summoning or not, I dunno. I hope it does, because we kinda need it.
>>
>>31155618
Summoning is pretty amazing in the fact that you can summon whatever you want with any power you want it to have. But seriously, making these contracts really kills it. I know why we do it and it makes sense in the setting but it takes so fucking long taking about what we want them to do what we don't want them to do.

It's really tiresome.
>>
>>31155607
>>31155618
>>31155630
simple thoughtforms should suffice, rocs are giant birds and sand wurms are well wurms
>>
>>31155607
Going to take the general idea for Wendigo's contract to apply to all future summons, and bring up their gripes and demands for condition (Hopefully) in far fewer posts.

I understand that the Wendigo contract bogged things down, trying to figure out a good way to balance this.

>>31155618
>We'd never need to spend hours talking to our fireball if we decided to just nuke everything with Pyromancy.
Well, if you DID it'd be a pretty big goddamn fireball.

In any case. Good night, another apology for falling asleep on you guys.
>>
>>31155639
>>31155643
The dealing with things like this is what kills every single one of your quests.

Don't turn this into a repeat of Gargoyle Quest.
>>
>>31155639
I completely agree. I love summoning and I wanted it since the very beginning and I still want to make it to Divine, but... I don't know, I just wish making contracts didn't require all this pseudo legalese bullshit.
>>
>>31155649
Prime issue with Gargoyle quest was that these things were inside you and trying to influence your behaviour.

Fortunately not even Veins are completely* like that with Tulpas because they don't need to contract at all.
They just need to be a bit careful about what they do.

The astral sessions are better though aside from that, right? Progression of objective with the deities that've taken an interest in you?
Snogging Lucifer...?
>>
>>31155675
I'm sticking with Femcifer. I believe that she'll/he'll gives us some more baller ass powers/summons. Asherah hasn't really done anything in my eyes to really warrant doing more of her shitty favors.

But we'll see.
>>
>>31155675
The astral sessions are fun so far. Still wary of Lucifer, but at this point I have no reason to voice my concerns. The best I can hope for is that they'll never be realized and I can just sit here silently worrying. If shit does get bad, well we'll just deal with it then.
>>
>>31155690
I'm going to vote to blow up the dam if it's not an insanely out of the way endeavor and see what happens. If Asherah screws us out of anything worthwhile again, then fuck her. She deserves her scorn if we do more work for nothing.
>>
>>31155643
>>We'd never need to spend hours talking to our fireball if we decided to just nuke everything with Pyromancy.
Well that would be funny as hell.

IIRC you said that distance really isn't a problem for Nerves so long as they can see it?

What if we got a telescope on a tripod, went a few miles outside of Vegas, and then sat there talking to our fireball for a few hours to make a MASSIVE explosion?
>>
>>31155547
About how many ranks in Aerokinesis would we need to fly?

What if we got a parachute or a hang glider or something? Could we use it to fly at Apprentice rank?
>>
>>31155796
With Adept Materia Firma, we could use it to make the air solid and just walk around on it.
>>
>>31155675
>Prime issue with Gargoyle quest was that these things were inside you and trying to influence your behaviour.
WOAH WOAH WOAH

Hold up.

Are you honestly saying that this isn't what's happening in this quest? All of our summons are Asher's mind. They're all constantly pushing against their constraints and they all want things from up.

It might not be a perfect analog for Gargoyle Quest, but it's a whole hell of a lot closer than you're insinuating.
>>
>>31156904
>from up
from us*
>>
>>31155675
Yeah, the astral sessions have been really fun so far. They make for a cool was to hand out side quests and chill in between the action.

I do hope that Asherah's next reward is a bit less lackluster. I'm guessing that you didn't want to give us new toys from both Asherah and Luci at the same time. Blowing up the Hoover Dam should, hopefully, net us something cool.
>>
>>31157283
I still say we should kill all humans and cover the earth with monsters that owe their very existence to us.
>>
I know that horrifying monsters are fun as summons, but why don't we summon up some thoughtforms that are basically just humans in form?

It should be easy to make squads of extremely loyal soldiers armed with modern gear. Or even suicide bombers or things of that nature.
>>
>>31157397
Something incorporeal would be better. It's a nightmare for non-mages to fight ghosts and things in every setting.

Sending a ghost to kill the pilots in the mechs would be so much easier than what we plan on doing. They might also make better scouts than the ravens.
>>
>>31157420
Ghost in The Machine?

>>31156904
Meh, Gargoyle quest felt more like a tug-o-war with a three way split rope.

This is more like a mercenary service. It's far more optional and you can ignore their requests and flip them the bird.

>>31155796
>>31155801
Pretty much. And I'd say Adept Aerokinesis would allow for the most comfortable flight with MF, even if it's just for short distances.

It doesn't have to be all at once. The ice will not just melt away the next second. Also it doesn't have to be the whole dam. We could seal a portion of it from the side, fill that portion and freeze. It should be enough if we destroyed 10 meters long.

Aether is the substance of the universe.
It's worth getting just for that reason alone.
>>
>>31159377
Well, it's the "air of the gods" or something.

So I'm thinking we might need to throw ourselves into The Flow and inhale deeply.
>>
>>31159417
The Aether I'm talking about is Quintessence the fifth element and one of the most vital to alchemy.
>>
>>31159460
Dran said that whatever we were missing to get Alchemy would be discovered by Asher and included in actually buying Alchemy.
>>
>>31159460
It's the same thing. It's called the "Air of the Gods" because it was thought that the heavens were made of pure Aether/Quintessence while down on Earth there was only a little bit in everything.

It makes sense, to me at least, that Aether would involve the Flow. It's what souls are made of, it's what enables magic, it's what gods are made of and where they live, and it's in and connects everything.

>The only way you don't see classical music fitting Asher is if you see him as a murderhobo
I.. just... what?
>>
>>31160199
I have to agree on that. It doesn't feel right. A bit standoffish, maybe? Sure, he's kind of a dick and he might want to pull people along, but he just isn't the right type of character for that.
>>
Wait...did we just get pyromancy?

we have the most ass-backward collection of powers possible.

We really need to pick a theme and stick to it instead of collecting a stupid toolbox of equivelent powers. Steam/fire are really close in terms of what they can atually do.
>>
>>31160269
What I mean is that there's better music for murderhobo characters than classical.
>>
>>31160326
The only ones that really stick out from the rest are Pyromancy and Geokinesis when we get it, but those are mostly just to unlock Alchemy because it's insanely good.
>>
>>31160326
We're wrapping up toward Alchemy right now, guy. Pyromancy is good for that, and good for itself.

>>31160342
Even if he isn't a murderhobo, he isn't the master manipulator pretentious Xanatos type that would fit it.
>>
>>31160326
Except that different people samefag at different times.
>>
>>31160361
No, but he is an asshole who's willing to play with people's emotions and kill on a whim. He's a bad person with delusions of grandeur
>>
>>31160351
>>31160361
why the fuck do we want alchemy? I thought we decided that we were going for some kinda Antarctica theme?
>>
>>31160326
>Steam/fire are really close in terms of what they can atually do.
You know, we could do that Oath with Steam where we seal it off to boost up another spell.

Steam is pretty useless now that we have Pyromancy (superior spell) and it's at a higher rank.
>>
>>31160394
Because Alchemy is almost unarguably the single best ability possible.

>>31160385
Sure, he's kind of selfish, and he'll screw over other people to benefit himself. He might even want to build a cult of personality. He's also impulsive, frequently gets swept up in the moment, and likes to enjoy himself instead of getting straight to business.
>>
>>31160394
>why the fuck do we want alchemy?
Because it's a very good thing to have.

It has mad synergy with summoning and enchanting(materia firma) and would let Asher actually fix any wounds he incurs. It's pretty much the only way he's going to make his own body something more than human.

It allows permanent changes to the world that don't require constant magic input to maintain. It can give summons physical bodies that don't require magic input. It can take any material and turn it into any other material you want.
>>
>>31160440
There's also things like making a Philosopher's Stone. Going for immortality seems like something a guy like Asher would do.
>>
>>31160432
huh? what kind of "alchemy" are you talking about? also: fuck being best, lets be cool.

>>31160440
ok, answered, that does sound cool.

>>31160401
I am the guy from the last thread that wanted to do the frozen wasteland theme.
Copypasta from that thread:

ASHER: theme

Inspiration:
>We come from the land of the ice and snow, from the midnight sun where the hot springs flow.

We were born from water, but water is not our destiny.
We will become the master of the frozen wasteland. We will be the mirage that leads you astray. We will be the teeth and claws that take your life. We will be the cold that seals your fate.

Powers:
Ice: Encase people in ice that is close to 0 Kelvin, tearing the heat from thier body in seconds.
Summoning: Call forth the wendigos and wolves to tear at our opponents.
Weather: extend our wasteland as far as we can see.
Illusion: mislead and disorient those inside our realm.
>>
>>31160460
Alchemy is insanely cool, it's also insanely useful. It also means creating human bodies, turning one thing into another, and lots of ridiculous specific effects. And have you ever played a game with some decent item creation options? Most of that shit is Alchemy. Making shit. We can start pumping out all sorts of crazy magic items.
>>
>>31160460
>ok, answered, that does sound cool.
It really is cool.

We could summon up a thoughtform eye and have it attach to Asher's empty left eye socket, then use Alchemy to turn it into a real eye.

We could even give it magical properties which would persist after we make it real. Want a hypnotic eye? We could make it.

Want an eye that kills people when you look at them? Dran confirmed that we could summon the Eye of Balor and use Alchemy to implant it in Asher. It would cause burn when we used it, but it would kill people by looking at them.

We could do similar things if we get arms blown off or organs removed. We could make redundant organ systems. Want 2 hearts? We could do it. We get injured somehow? We can turn water into blood and transfuse it.

The best part, though, is that its effects persist without adding more magic. We could go out into the desert and just keep turning sand into c4. Just keep doing it over and over and over. Or even plutonium. Remember how Friend wanted nukes? We could do that. We could make all the nukes we wanted. Out of dirt. And they would stay around until we used them.

There's also making potions and shit, which I don't even know how that would work, but it would be awesome. Draught of healing? Swiftness? Strength?

Alchemy is amazing.

the thing i'm worried about is having everyone in the thread argue about what to do with it.

but question: does anyone like my frozen wasteland theme idea?
>>
>>31160610
Not particularly.
>>
>>31160394
For me, aside from it's usefulness and power, i really like that kind of alchemists, so that's why i have always been wanting it.
>>
>>31160610
I think an icy theme is pretty cool, but I'm gonna be honest with you. I think your copypasta that you made for it is a tad annoying and will turn people off from the idea.

I'm trying to say this as politely as possible, so please don't get upset, but I think you should cut it out. It's pretty cheese.
>>
>>31160665
No, you are right. It's really EDGEY and sounds like a 14 year old wrote it. This is how I write when i'm tired, drunk, and trying to sound cool.

someone help me re-write it?
>>
I wonder if we could awaken someone by going full body-horror on them.

Instead of burning them or cutting parts off, just summon up tons of eyes and little mouths and shit and use alchemy to graft them to their body.
>>
>>31160735
That sounds amazing.
>>
>>31160726
>someone help me re-write it?
You didn't get any of what that anon was saying did you? Stop pushing your shitty backstory. If people like it they will support it. Guess why nobody does? Because it is bad. And noone will be bothered to make it slightly better becaause it will not change anything.
>>
>>31160740
Imagine someone standing there. Water straps all around them and then forms into the shape of a medical table. With a flash of Asher's nerves, the water becomes polished steel and the person is strapped to it with leather restraints.

"You want me to stop? I'm sorry. Only you can make me stop. Oh my, I seem to have turned your tongue into some sort of hissing bug-thing. Oops. Hey, stop freaking out. You might bite your tongue. It'd be rather unpleasant if it went squish in your mouth. It's alright. Just awaken your magic. You might want to do it quickly. Shhhh. Don't worry. If you're a bone, you can fix all this in a couple hours. If not... well you'll want to hurry up before things start to get weird."
>>
>>31160847
is...is that your magical realm?
pls no. pls.
(if it isn't, it sounds cool, although might have mixed results)

>>31160581
I had an idea for a "theme" for asher:

The main inspiration was an old classic rock song:
>We come from the land of the ice and snow, from the midnight sun where the hot springs flow.
The theme would be "frozen wasteland". We would focus on ice, summoning, weather and illusion powers.

Ice would be or main defensive gig, as well as possibly indirect offense in the form of encasing people in ice. If we can make the ice cold enough (.1 degrees kelvin), anything we encase in it will loose heat so quickly it will die almost instantly. It will also fuck up robots by making most metallic substances incredibly brittle.

Summoning woudl be our main offensive power, and we would stick to wendigos/wolves/ice demons/whatever. I think that summoning multiple copies of the same thing would be cool, but not needed. Basically summons allow us to split our attention so that we can use our considerable ice powers for defense/controll. The "never use ice to hurt" oath isn't a problem because throwing ice swords is dumb and a frozen wasteland kills you with the effects of ice and cold, not actual ice.

Illusion is really powerfull, and fits well with the theme because disorentation and confusion are common in whiteouts and with hypothermia.

Weather woudl allow us to expand our control radius and be cool, but isn't strictly needed. it's mainly for combinations with illusions and fucking with people on a grand scale.

Now what do you think?
>>
The other thing that would be amazing is Materia Firma. Once we get to Adept+, we can make permanently enchanted objects that just hold up a big middle finger to reality.

Want to make a sword with a blade that's made of fire that's actually still sharp? Could totally do it.

Combo it with Alchemy and you can make some CRAAAAAAAZY shit. Like a gun that sucks in air, hyper-compresses it, transmutes some dirt you jammed in it into depleted uranium rods, and then launches it at mach20.

>>31161019
Not my magical realm.
>>
>>31161019
I think you need to stop posting it every fucking thread.
>>
>>31161019
Look, guy, you ain't gonna get supporters like that. I agree with a lot of what you're saying, but you're just making people annoyed with you.
Are you that fluff provider namefag? The way you're typing really sounds like him, but with less fuckups.
>>
>>31161078
>>31161133
if it bothers people, I can stop talking about it.

and nope, i don't post here often.

although how do I present ideas and try to convince peopel to pick a coherent theme before we get a level 1 version of half the powers in the world?
>>
>>31161181
You present it, people read it, if they like it they will support it.
We haven't supported it so that is that.
>>
>>31161181
There is nothing wrong with being a chaos mage.
