You are the PRODUCER, a former soldier hired to manage a group of teenage girls on their rise to stardom, assuming they don't get killed in the process!

Recently, you've just recruited two new idols to your team: Niko, a spunk and punkish performance idol, and Melissa, a combat idol with an augmetic arm and leg.

Arriving at the office, you check in with Jenner, who is dutifully at her desk as always.

"So what do we have today, Jenner?" You ask.

"Well, Ushiyama is putting Niko through the paces to evaluate her, if you want to go check it out. Lillith has finished her psych-profiles of Niko and Melissa if you want to read them, Falynn wants to you talk to you about Melissa's augments, and we have a new slew of jobs to sift through." She says.

It appears that Clover Entertainment has hired two new idols Niko, and Melissa. From our database, we know that Niko has a small criminal record of minor offences, and Melissa is one of the best Pit Fighters in the Tombs owing much to her skill and augments. General Crozier, would you please report the rest of your findings?

Agents August and Topaz interrogated one of our less cooperative allies in our Japanese branch earlier today, and came up dry. All they know is that the Yamada family sent Niko to America for educational purposes; but as already seen, Niko has different ideas. Her family currently has no idea she is now an idol, and I believe we can use this as leverage should the need arise.

As for Melissa, I received word from Agents Nomad, Cipher, and Hellcat that one of our decentralized branches may have been indirectly involved in the accident that cost her arm and leg. From the report, it appears that some mercenaries were hired to round them up in a routine mission, but encountered resistance from Melissa. The events that occurred during the fight, even the name of the mercenary group, are uncertain as most of the files were damaged when a virus corrupted the data and shutdown the archives four years ago.

It has become quite clear during these few months that The Producer is a greater threat than any we can imagine. He has been slowly consolidating resources and personnel in order to strengthen Clover.

He needs to be stopped.

This Producer seems to be quite meddlesome...
What we need is to get one of our Girl Scout Agents inside Clover, and transfer minds with one of their personnel in order to become a sleeper agent. Clover's background checks are too thorough for us to simply insert an Agent through conventional means. The question is who to choose?

We could try the idols. It would be easier for our agents to adjust but they don't easily have access to important information that the administration have, and it would be difficult trying to pretend to be them as their personnel are probably familiar with their behaviour and mannerisms.

Or, we can be ambitious and go for the Producer. His mannerisms seem to be quite "spontaneous" enough to give our agents leeway in how they act, he has a rather mysterious past which can allow any general background to be acceptable, and it allows us to control most of Clover's future decisions. The problems that rises is the fact it's a more difficult adjustment process for both sides, and the Producer is much harder to take down than their idols.

Either way, this operation will take meticulous planning, and preparation that may take months or even years to get right; and whoever is in our agent's body must be kept under close watch until the entire operation is over.

With all the reactions last thread of our Combat idols in P-san's body, we haven't really mentioned how he would react while in their bodies.

>While Julie is busy testing with her new strength.
Producer gets one look at himself in the mirror and his eyes slowly lower to see his new generous assets and proceeds to not cop a feel because he's not a lecherous pervert.
"Damn..., kids sure grow fast these days."
"Producer, did you see that?! Did you see how I wrecked that shit!"

>While Cole is trying to accept the fact that she doesn't have the security blanket of her powers anymore.
Producer tries, and fails to control his new powers.
"Okay, I'll just call Jenner and..." *ZAP* "Crap, I blew up my phone!"
*Sigh* "I guess we'll have to wait for her to come back. Might as well make some coffee while we try to..." *ZAP*
"...Well there goes the coffee machine..."

Or it could be played tragically as Producer accidentally begins hurting people, and destroying things. He tells them to not come closer, and he tries to desperately get Cole to help, but she remains unresponsive or is stuck in a flashback. To Cole, water is one thing, but being forced into a body without that unique Genemod is another.

And for Rochelle...I honestly don't know how Producer reacts.

Also, god help us if he switches with Jenner...

I think Cole will suffer some trauma of seeing a penis (or rather having one)

Rochelle on the other hand may have a similar reaction but then accidentally discovers the Producer's photos of embarrassing/nostalgic moments of the idols.

Producer's reaction of Rochelle may not seem to effect him much since she doesn't seem to have a lot of feminine assets (much to Rochelle ire.)

I can only imagine how we would handle an Agent acting as "The Producer". The way I see it, the whole event would last a couple of threads; the first few threads would be Producer waking up as the Agent and trying to get back to Clover, while the last threads would be from an Idols' POV of events (though if the QM has something interesting planned, they could use the Agent's POV).

Producer's POV could probably involve getting used to his new body and learning his limitations (as well as learning to charm people through pure cuteness). When he's on the doorstep of Clover, he poses as a fan if the Agent isn't the one who answers and asks for the Producer. Otherwise, he just starts to beat the crap out of himself while the idols just watch in shock as some random girl scout is thoroughly kicking Producer's ass.

The Agent's POV could include trying to gather information, and maintain her cover; but only to be run ragged throughout the whole day by promises the real Producer made to each of the girls (all on that day) like shopping, sparring, training, studying, and everything else they wanted to do until "Producer" knocks on the door and beats the crap out of her.

It would also be interesting if the agent actually feels attachment to the "family atmosphere" of the place, where she expected the "detached, uncaring mood" of the other idol companies she infiltrated numerous times before. Hell, maybe the agent came from a broken home, was raised by The Tribunal only to be a spy, and longed for a sense of family (I think it would work better if she took over an idol though). Maybe the family atmosphere, and seeing how everyone views the Producer is enough for her to even defect to Clover.

And that's how I believe we get our Assassin/Spy/Sniper Combat Idol. She may even be willing to let Producer Direct Control her during missions as a form of apology for the whole ordeal. But it probably won't happen.

"So, Lillith, I heard you had the psych-profiles on Niko and Melissa ready." You say.

"Yes, from the information that was available to me." Lillith nods.

"Can you give me a rundown?"

"Well," Lillith glances at her papers. "To start off, Niko obviously is an attention seeker. Due deliberate or unintentional neglect from her parents, she resorts to rebelling against perceived authority. It's really rather common among children who are sent abroad on their own."

"Is that going to be a problem?" You ask.

"Shouldn't be, as long as you keep a close eye on her." Lillith shakes her head. "Just make sure she moderates her behavior and give her acknowledgement when she needs it, otherwise she might start rebelling against you in an effort to grab your attention."

"Okay, I'll keep that in mind." You nod. "And Melissa?"

"Melissa is a bit more of a problem." Lillith sighs. "From what I've read, she's primarily motivated by revenge, which I think we both know is not exactly a very healthy motivation. There's a high likelihood that if she's presented a choice between revenge or carrying out her duty, she'll opt for the former, no matter who gets shortchanged. On the other hand, fulfilling her revenge might cause her to lose her sense of purpose, which can be equally as damaging."

"That could be a problem." You nod. "Any ways to deal with it?"

"If you want my honest opinion? Make her think that sticking with Clover is the best way to achieve her goals. Hopefully she'll either forget about her revenge or find better things to do with her time. Hopefully."

"That doesn't sound very reassuring." You frown.

"It's easy to analyze human behavior, but much harder to regulate it." Lillith shrugs.

"Also, has Rochelle been seeing you lately?" You ask, curious about your skilled but troubled idol.

"Ah yes, she has come in a few times. Signs of minor PTSD related to killing. Very rough, especially since she did it up close. Very vivid memories of the event."

"Will it affect her performance?" You ask nervously.

"Hard to say. Psychologically, she's very tough, and thanks to some of your encouragement she's been able to stave off the worst of it. I believe this is just something she just has to power through herself. Once she does several more missions, she should get more accustomed and desensitized to the violence. It's the same in the army, yes?"

"To point, yeah." You nod.

"Well, just keep a close eye on her. However, I don't see this significantly impacting her performance as long as she knows you're supporting her."

"Thanks, I'll keep that in mind." You grin.

"Ah, I see." You nod. "What about you? I hope you're not having too hard a time here."

You head down to the workshop, where you see your resident engineer tinkering with a robotic arm. Across from her, you can see a very bored Melissa sitting on a chair, doing her best to read a magazine with one hand.

"Jesus, Melissa, you gotta tell me where you got this thing!" Falynn says happily as she digs through the arm with her tools. "This like, 1st generation aug tech! I didn't even know stuff like this existed anymore!"

"The doc just pulled the first thing he found out of the junk pile." Melissa does her best one armed shrug. "No clue where it came from."

Falling back on your old sneaking skills, you quietly stalk your way through the workshop, Melissa blinks as she sees you approach, but you just smile and put a finger to your lips, and she just nods and stays quiet.

"Honestly, I think I'm gonna put this thing in a glass case and mount it somewhere. Stuff like this belongs in a museu- EEEEEEEEEEK!" Falynn squeals as your fingers swoop in and tickle her sides.

You give a hearty laugh and duck, narrowly dodging Falynn's reactionary swing, using Melissa's detached arm as an improvised club.

"P-Producer!" Falynn stammers, her cheeks turning red. "W-what are you doing!?"

"I just wanted to surprise you, that's all." You chuckle despite the fact the girl nearly took your head off. "You get easily distracted when you have new toys to play with."

"Honestly!" Falynn pouts and sets Melissa's arm back on the table. "You saw him coming, didn't you?"

"He told me to stay quiet." Melissa says flatly. "I can't just refuse an order from my boss, can I?"

"Ohmygod I'm so glad the others weren't here to see this..." Falynn sighs. "Okay Producer, what do you want?"

"Well, I heard you had some suggestions for Melissa's augs?"

"Oh, right, that." Falynn nods as she gets her mental processes back on track. "The thing is, Melissa's current arm is basically junk. Not the bad kind of junk, just the kind where it's not practical to use in the field."

"I get it." You nod. "So what are our options?"

"Well, I think I can scrounge up the parts to build a new arm for her, with all the modern bells and whistles." Falynn says. We'll even be able to put a hidden function into it! Wouldn't be awesome?"

"What do you have in mind?"

"Well..."

Precious metals such as gold, silver and platinum and exotic or rare metals such as cobalt, mercury, tungsten, beryllium, bismuth, cerium, cadmium, niobium, indium, gallium, germanium, lithium, selenium, tantalum, tellurium, vanadium, and zirconium are also non-ferrous

"Hmmm, simple and efficient. Alright, I'll get it made in a jiffy!" Falynn says cheerfully. "Melissa, you should go to the Doc and get that connector checked out. It's been pretty roughly installed, so we might have to replace that too."

"Alright." Melissa sighs and sets down the magazine she was reading. "So, I'll actually be able to feel my arm?"

"That's the intention!" Falynn nods.

"I see." Melissa nods blankly before leaving the workshop.

Also, one-shot railgun can be very useful anti-armor/anti-cover/area-denial weapon.
>>
>>31152308
That's...

Huh? You know what an opportunity cost is, right? And material cost is whatever we have to pay for whatever supplies Falynn needs.
>>
>>31152332

Hopefully this is lumped in with 'upkeep cost'.

Also, I sense a junkyard-excursion to the tombs with melissa in the near future.

Still. Making things in house is -way- cheaper than paying retail
>>
So what kind of celebrity endorsements do you think our girls would go for?
>>
>>31152332
Opportunity cost is the cost of not taking an opportunity. Such as if Falynn is working on EM shielding, she is not working on other stuff, or we lose the opportunity on something else.

Still, we'll have to decide when we get there, but having partially bulletproof girls is very appealing.

"So, Melissa, you think you can tell me more about these mercs that attacked you?" You ask.

"Ah, I guess I should tell you that sort of thing, huh?" Melissa sighs. "Whoever they were, they were pretty smart. No identifying markings or insignia. They also had power armor and heavy duty augs, so they're pretty damn rich, too. The might have been Russian, I think, or at least the guy who took my arm was."

"How did it happen?"

"Well..." Melissa frowns as she recalls a memory she really preferred not to. "I still remember him. Black power armor, a snarling bear painted over his helmet. Had a huge ass hatchet he carried around with him. I tried hitting him with a pipe to distract him and he just turned and swung..."

"You don't have to tell me if you don't want to."

"N-no, it's something you should know." Melissa sighs. "By that point I nearly passed out from shock. I guess he then lopped my leg off out of spite, or something. Then they just left me to die."

"But you survived." You point out.

"Yeah, thankfully, I guess, he was using a heat axe. Cauterized the wounds so I didn't bleed out. Managed to crawl my way to a back alley doc who owed me a few favors, and the rest is history."

"Okay, so if we theoretically track down these mercs, and theoretically take care of them, what would you do afterwards?" You ask.

"I.... I don't really know." Melissa frowns. "I guess I didn't think that far ahead."

"Well, maybe you should." You say, putting a reassuring hand on her shoulder. "You can't just live for revenge your whole life. You need a real reason to keep on living."

"I'll keep that in mind."

At that point, the two of you finally reach the infirmary, where Dr. Stiles begins his examination.

"Hmmmm, whoever installed this socket was an obvious amateur." Dr. Stiles frowns. "Honestly, the way we handled the implant process, it's a miracle there hasn't been any permanent damage."

"So, can you install a new one?" You ask.

"Well, cybernetics is not exactly my specialty, but something simple like installing a universal aug socket is simple enough." Dr. Stiles says.

"Also, Doc, I'm not sure if you know how to treat this, but sometimes my missing arm hurts, as if it's still there." Melissa adds in.

"Ah, that would be phantom pain syndrome." Dr. Stiles says. "That's out of my field of expertise since it's a mental rather than a physical condition. However, from what I understand, the sensory feedback you'll get from your new arm will override any phantom signals your brain might be receiving."

"I hope so." Melissa sighs.

As Dr. Stiles continues his examination, slowly dismantling the socket, you decide to ping Falynn.

"Hey Falynn."

"Yeah, Producer?"

"Are there any good upgrade options for augmetic legs?"

"Huh, well..." Falynn pauses. "That's a bit tougher. Augmetic legs are designed first and foremost to provide support and stability, so installing extra bells and whistles on them is generally not recommended. I mean, can you see how silly it would be to try and shoot a gun while hopping on one leg?"

"Well, do you have any ideas?"

"Maybe a few...."

"We'll add in the seismic sensor, then."

"Okay, I'll work on that, too!" Falynn says cheerfully.

"Hey, Falynn, is it feasible to make non-aug versions of those upgrades?"

"Well, of course." Falynn snorts. "The only problem is weight and powering the components. Augs already have their own internal power source, and you can incorporate the components directly into the aug, rather than figuring out how to attach it an organic limb. So, the basic answer is... yes, but it'll be damn complicated."

"Ah, just asking. I'll leave you to your work, then."

You cut the connection and return your attention to Dr. Stiles and Melissa. It looks like the procedure is just about over, with Dr. Stiles installing a fresh socket into Melissa's shoulder. She winces as the augmetic component slides in with a soft click.

"That's a good signs. It means the nerve connections are working properly." Dr. Stiles grins. "And we're done!"

"You do that." You grin. "What are you going to do now?"

"I guess go back to the workshop and wait for Falynn to finish up my new arm." Melissa shrugs. "I'll see you later."

>Fire Team Leader (Rochelle/Producer)
>Automatic Rifleman/Second In Command (Julia)
>Rifleman (Cole)
>Rifleman (Melissa)
>Rifleman/Specialist/Automatic Rifle Man (Z-Wolf)

Most are 4 with 5 including the fireteam leader.
2 fire teams in a squad, then we add in the Squad leader and squad medic, making that number 12.

Still, this usually for like real military shit. Might want to just stick to a buddy system, or what ever the situation dictates as necessary.

Yeah, nah he is the boss, but lets see if we can a compromise to get going here, also siding with her in my eyes means that she will not listen to him or respect like she would us.

>Still, this usually for like real military shit. Might want to just stick to a buddy system, or what ever the situation dictates as necessary.

Agreed. But it's always nice to have a system in place and have no need for it than to not have it at all.

And on a random thought, I wonder if we have MOUT course somewhere...
>>
>>31153243
I'm going with the buddy system or 3 person groups.
>>
>>31153243
Well of course we want to be flexible. If it try the other side's idea of two squads:

Squad 1 (Generalist):
Rochelle (Generalist)
Z-Wolf (Heavy weapons)

Squad 2 (Shock/Assault):
Julia (Assault)
Cole (Shock trooper/Assault)
Melissa (Heavy weapons/Assault)

I still think we are spreading our girls pretty thin though.
>>
>>31153243
I rather have Melissa with a shotgun then a rifle
>>
>>31152588

I'm going to laugh when this turns out to be a big reveal: IVANA, the russian mercenary-badass! Distant descendant of ivans! Quarter russian, quarter valkyrie, ALL following in the kostov family tradition of being a no-holds-barred badass.
And then we have a choice to recruit ivana as an idol, or piss melissa off forever
>>
>>31153324
I would like Melissa to be automatic weapon or heavy weapons, to take advantage of her greater strength.

Also, should Julia have a one handed weapon to go with her shield?
>>
>>31153324
Shotguns are almost never situationally appropriate.

Rifles deliver better volume of fire, more accurately, more sustainably.

If you want a shotgun just pop a masterkey on their AR-clones.

Not anymore useful than just shooting someone three times in the chest with .223, though.

Any reasonable shotgun applications can be handled with a pop-on masterkey attachment.

Ah I see, attachments. Thanks.

Though I think the Hyperion shotgun had specialist ammo.
>>
>>31153424
Probably, you're afforded slightly more space when designing shotgun ammunition as you have a larger volume of space to work with.

....but that can be fired through an underbarrel attachment too, and if you need more "pow," than that you can get an underbarrel grenade/etc launcher.

>>
>>31153456
Unless this setting has batteries and capacitors that can move and stores mega/giga/etc joules of power then we aren't going to have effective lasers.

If that was a thing we'd probably already have personal-scale laser weapon systems instead of chemically powered ones.

Yeah, but one of the main advantages of the shotgun is the spread and volume of fire. With slugs, though we replace that with large amount of kinetic energy and force (like blowing the lock off a door, or killing someone hyped up on drugs and feels no pain). If we need something like that might as well use a rifle with appropriate attachments or other equipment.

>>31153453
Nah, bro. Eye wear and protection. Use actual guns but with simunition/simulated ammunition/paint rounds/chalk rounds or whatever.

"Niko..." You sigh. "I know some of Ushiyama's music choices may not be consistent with your tastes, but in this line of work, you just have to learn and adapt. Depending on what job we get, you will NOT have the luxury of being able to pick your own song."

"Yeah, but-"

"AND, Ushiyama has been doing this far longer than you have. You should at the very least trust that he knows what he's doing." You say. "If you can win his respect, THEN we can talk about tailoring your performances. But for now, we need to be able to accurately gauge your capabilities."

Niko blinks at your words, and her angered expression begins to soften up.

"S-sorry, Producer. I guess I'm not used to other people telling me what to do." She sighs. "I just wanted to do my own thing, you know?"

"Like I said, if you can prove yourself, then we can consider it. I defer to Ushiyama's opinion here, and if he thinks you can't make the cut, well..."

"I get it." Niko slaps her own cheeks to focus herself. "Okay, Ushiyama, do your worst."

Shotguns and revolvers are generally considered to be obsolete in military contexts, but the specific nature of our environment and missions may warrant giving them another look.

Our missions are going to be almost exclusively urban and close-quarters, and are likely to include situations with rules of engagement more complex than 'just shoot all the fuckers.' The loss of range in a shotgun over a rifle is unlikely to matter, and the potential for the use of specialized less lethal ammunition or breaching rounds or even grenades if available. Underbarrel shotgun mounts have some utility, but compromise the effectiveness of the weapon they are attached to by adding weight and wrecking the balance while not offering the capacity or accuracy of a dedicated shotgun.

Revolvers in modern combat are basically a joke and are for people more concerned with style than function except in one specific case. French and German police units still issue revolvers to SWAT teams for use by pointmen who are carrying ballistic shields. In this case, they only have one hand to manipulate their weapon. Revolvers cannot be pushed out of battery, are less likely to fail to cycle under any circumstance, and any failure of a round to fire is resolved by simply pulling the trigger again. Use of a revolver by the pointman guarantees that he will be always able to put sufficiently powerful rounds downrange, and the low capacity is offset by the fact that he has half a dozen guys with submachine guns following him into the room to mop up.

Also, being an idol organization, we actually do get points for style, which is worth keeping in mind.

Buckshot spreads at about an inch every 30/40/50/etc yards depending on the choke.

Slugs will fail to penetrate ballistic vests or plates.

A small rifle (Colt Command, CAR-15, etc) will be more effective and produce a greater volume of fire than a shotgun will. A Commando chambered for .300BLK would be insane.

"...you're better than I expected. Let me know what songs you prefer and I will consider crafting a training regimen around them. You are dismissed for now."

With that, Ushiyama leaves the room, though you can catch a barest hints of a grin tugging at the corners of his mouth as he leaves.

"'Better than expected?' Is that all he has to say?" Niko frowns.

"Niko, that's probably the closest you'll ever get to a genuine compliment from him." You laugh. "Rin can attest to that."

"Oh yeah, he HATED me the first few days." Rin sighs. "He's just got too much pride to show much affection."

3-4" every ten yards or more with a 20.5" Cylinder in my experience.

Modern plated buck offers the same armor penetration as good +P pistol ammo which is admittedly not great but inna future we can probably do sabots or flechettes or something.

Not that I'm completely disagreeing with you, short barreled rifles are the way to go in 95+% of situations.

Minor note: .300BLK and 5.56 use the same upper receiver and bolt dimensions, the only thing that has to change is the barrel, in which case there is no reason to stop at the Commando's 11.5" barrel length when you can still get decent short range ballistics out of 7"

You decide to go take care of the job situation first. Heading to your office, you see quite a queue forming up. You see a few notes helpfully attached by Jenner.

>PERFORMANCE: A standard performance. These tend to be fairly routine and safe. Nothing special to say.

>SPONSOR MISSIONS are missions offered by our sponsors. Taking these usually nets large rewards, but are fairly uncommon and in most cases dangerous.

>COMMUNITY SERVICE missions are missions offered by individuals in certain districts. While pay for these missions tends to be low (if there is any offered at all), completing these missions may net us special services but in most cases will greatly improve our influence. The vast majority of community service missions will involve combat of some kind, though it is generally low intensity.

>COMBAT MISSION: Often offered by more well connected mission givers, combat missions often entail raids or attacks against other idol companies, or taking on offered contracts. These missions are often the quickest and easiest way to receive funds, even if the danger is rather high.

>GUERRILLA CONCERT: This involves staging an unauthorized concert in a rival-controlled area. Guerrilla concerts can grab massive amounts of influence, but are easily one of the most dangerous missions you can attempt to embark on.

>Also, missions with the PRIORITY tag are missions that cannot be refused.

Huh, it looks like things were starting to get more complicated. You then check he job list.

Rin / Jenner

Rin obviously, need to build her up further and Jenners has shown that she can take care of herself. Plus the danger level is low.

Night Concert:
Niko / Cole

Niko needs a performance gig and this is a good way to ease her into it. Cole is also pretty popular and she can help protect Niko if things go bad. Also Coles here because I don't think Julie would want to miss the Drug Bust for the world.

Drug Bust:
Julie / Rochelle / Melissa / KZ-Wolf

This is the big one. All our remaining combat assets. With 4 of them, we should be able to clear this easily.
>>
>>31154073
>Organize assets for the non-priority missions first.

Last time we did a radio interview with almost no escort we got away clean, but now we have people gunning for us. Maybe send Niko and either Cole or Julie along with Jenner.

Rin and the Producer can probably do the night concert without any trouble. Won't be anything huge but hey it's money.

Everyone else and their dog can get on the drug bust, though it may not be as straightforward as 'go to drug warehouse and shoot people'

Also how many people do we have qualified to drive?
>>
>>31154174
We don't need three damn weeks to prepare dude, not when there is dosh to be made and field experience to be gained.
>>
>>31154181

We can't afford for Producer to be away while the drug bust is going on, we need to be at the command console to monitor the situation.
>>
>>31154073
>>Contact Hyperion for further details first.
>>
>>31154208
Then we've got two vehicles and one driver to get teams to three locations simultaneously.

Assuming Jenner has a personal vehicle then ok the interview is covered but how do we get the other two groups from HQ to Districts 5 and 6 at the same time without the producer leaving the office?
>>
>>31154073
You dial up Mr. Blake's number, curious as to what Hyperion's job offer entailed.

"Ah, Producer, we have been expecting your call." You hear Mr. Blake's stuffy voice.

"Yeah, I was wondering if you could give us a little more detail on that." You say.

"Well," Blake clears his throat. "As you know, Hyperion specializes in mining. Part of our success is our use of contracted penal labor in our mines. As a result, Hyperion owns a 22% stake in the Delta City Prison Authority. Lately though, prisoner morale is at an all time low, for reasons we have yet to identify."

Yeah, sure, let's go with that.

"For this reason, Mr. Jack believes that a special prison concert is just what is needed for the prisoners to forget their current 'issues.'" Blake continues. "Of course, we will provide the best security money can offer, in addition to whatever you will be bringing with you."

How about your security? How many guards you gonna have on-station, and armed with what?
>>
>>31154246

Well the radio interview should occur in the day?

We'll need to see and maybe we can ask Lilith to chaperon Niko and Cole to the Night fair.

If we can preemptively identify these concerns, I think it would make the security concerns a lot easier to resolve. Can you grant us access to conduct research?

There also the concern about PR. I'm not sure if a prison concert will play well to the media, but we'll try to make it work.

If we can independently resolve their issues as well as perform in the concert, would we be entitled to a bonus?

If Johnny Cash could play to a prison population, I'm pretty sure we can. I mean yeah, a bunch of little girls don't exactly have the same grit as The Man in Black, but I'm feeling good about being able to pull it off.
>>
>>31154246
"Well, what exactly is the security, specifically?" You ask.

"Well, in addition to the existing prison guards, we will sending additional Hyperion private security forces to assist them. In total, there should be about three hundred armed personnel present, with options to add an addition five hundred should the situation require it."

"And, um, how many prisoners are we talking about here?"

"You will be performing at the largest Hyperion-owned prison facility, which holds approximately 6,000 prisoners." Blake says. "Of course, they will be corralled and kept in an area that they will be unable to harm your idols, even if they riot. Your performance will also be broadcast to every other prison in Delta City."

"Okay, that sounds reasonable." You say. You were a bit skeptical over 300 men being able to deal with 6,000, but the Hyperion guys were armed and the prisoners were not.

"Excellent. Should you have any further questions, feel free to contact me."

The line then goes dead.

Well, now to figure out how to handle the other three missions.

>Please divide up your resources among the three non priority missions. Your current available assets are the idols, Jenner, and K-Zwolf.

Just throwing it out there, but I think we should limit ourselves to two jobs. I'm not comfortable with having any of the idols operating without either Jenner or Producer to supervise. Your stomach begins to growl, and you figure that now's a good time to get some food now that you've gotten most of the pressing work out of the way. However, you're left thinking about whether you should run another combat seminar, especially since Melissa had just joined.

NAME: Melissa Edwards
STR: 4
AG: 2
INT: 2

APP: 2

PROFICIENCIES: Melee 4, Singing 1, Dancing 1, Augmetics 2

TRAITS:
Augmetic Skill Tree: Melissa's augmetic arm and leg grant her abilities not normally available to non-auged indivdiuals.
Falcon Punch: Melissa can push her augmetic arm to its limits, temporarily doubling her strength. However, there is a chance of her damaging her own arm which increases with extended use.
One Arm Wonder: Melissa can hold a non-heavy 2 handed weapon in her augmetic arm with no penalty.

>>
>>31154897
>>31154879

The 2 handed gun in one hand thing is cool and opens up some neato options but we're going to see diminishing returns on passing out more bulky-ass combat shields.

Leveraging her strength and giving her a heavy weapon like a shotgun, machine gun, or fuckoff large caliber rifle with a short barrel is probably a better way to go.

The melee skill is great sometimes but going up against dudes with guns you want to focus on shooting back.

With Julie and Melissa as close-range fighters with a decent history together we probably want to move Cole back to a longer range role teamed with Rochelle. Or split them up and partner one close ranger with each rifleman.

Hmmm, maybe a MOUT course would be good. It would give them some experience in a little bit of everything.

You finally get to the lunch room, where you see the staff eating at one end and the idols at the other. Looking at the idols, you see Cole trying to push all the cool surface foods she discovered onto Melissa. Heh, it was kinda cute.

"Cole, I'm going to say it again, I'm not too interested in trying this 'ice cream.'" Melissa grumps.

Cole's expression suddenly grows very cold.

"Melissa. Say that again, and I will you down and literally force feed you ice cream until you learn to like it."

"That actually sounds kinda hot." Rochelle says, her cheeks reddening a bit.

"Y-yeah." Rin nods.

"Gaaaaaaaaaaay." Niko snickers.

"None of you are helping!" Cole scowls at her fellow idols. God, it was too cute.

Picking up a sandwich, you head over to the idols.

"Alright, girls!" You clap to grab their attention. "Rochelle, Julie, Cole, Melissa, we're going to be going on a little trip today! How does everybody feel about a little laser tag?"

Rochelle's eyes taken a bright shine, while the other three girls kinda look on confused.

"It's basically a game where you can shoot people for fun without killing them." You explain.

"What's the point of shooting people if you don't want to kill them?" Melissa asks.

Oh boy, this was going to be interesting.

(cont)
>>
>>31154983
After lunch, you get your combat idols into the van and you drive them to a nearby "tactical laser tag facility", which was basically just a fancy term for a private MOUT course.

"Heh, I see you're training up some idols, there." The owner grins as he hands you a vest.

"How can you tell?" You blink.

"Saw 'em on TV, I think." The owner shrugs. "Y'know, if you wanna prank them, I got one that I always love to pull on first timers!"

"Really? Like what?"

"Well, usually the weapons here are just loaded with blanks, with infrared lasers attached to the barrels to simulate gunfire. However, I got a few with military grade stun rounds. All the pain but none of the lethality. Sting like motherfuckers, but otherwise harmless. It's always good for a bit of a laugh!"

Is the producer taking pictures?

I meant one that isn't hidden. You know, to make opponents think she only has the visible weapon and not the hidden one.
>>

>No. I rather not mess with the girls when we're supposed to be training them.
Have you been here when ever we trained them?
I agree this is a little much, but we have always messed with them, and i'm hoping we find something a little painful for them.
>>
>>31155055
ya i kinda liked that picture idea from a few threads back.
>>
>>31154995
>Nah, that's too mean.

We're here for learning, not pranking. Training is srs bizness, we can stick to harmless pranks and tactical stealth tickle attacks.

Here's the direct quote with pic.:
We should really get a large bulletin board for central area of the office so we can post pictures from the very beginning leading all the way to the present day. We could have photos of our roster, things that the staff or the girls did on and off-screen (i.e. training, hanging out), magazine clippings, staff parties (hopefully something humorous), etc.

If this were the ending to a show, most of the pictures would be static while the some would be animated to show brief, but important events such as: Producer entering Delta City for the first time, meeting the girls, combat missions, performances, meeting new cast members, or dramatic moments; while the camera would pan from the oldest to the most recent photos as a recap of what happened in the Quest, and as slow piano music would play in the background.
>>
>>31155082

This is a good middle ground.

I vote to let the girls get a few rounds in, then spike their spirit of competition and be like 'okay! who wants to try something FUN and slightly more dangerous!'

"I think that's a bit too mean." You frown. "How about something with a bit less punch, like paint rounds?"

"Well, sure, we got those too!" The owner nods.

With your gun loaded with paint rounds instead of blanks, you go meet up with your idols, who are all geared up and ready. You can also see Rochelle dutifully going over the basic rules of gun use and safety with Melissa. Yep, she was definitely shaping up to be leader material.

"Alright, girls, today's objective is to hunt the Producer." You say, standing in front of them. "I will be hiding inside that building over there."

You point to a squat, square, two story building.

"Your only objective is to take me out without getting taken out yourselves." You continue. "Here, you're going to learn how to work together to breach and clear a building. We're going to do a dry run first, just to see how you perform."

All your idols nod.

"Oh, and one more thing." You grin and fire your rifle a couple times, spattering paint all over a nearby wall. "Unlike your guns, mine actually shoots bullets. Full of paint."

"W-why would you do that?" Rochelle blanches.

"Well, to encourage you not to get shot, for starters." You smile.

"I knew he was up to something." Cole sighs.

"Okay, I'm going to go into that building and hole up. You all have five minutes to come up with a plan of attack."

As the girls huddle together, you make your way over to the building, and you get another devious idea.

>The situation on a battlefield is never certain. Hole up somewhere else to ambush the girls.
>Nah, just hole up in the building like you said you would.

Makes sense to me, why would they believe us about this, plus cole can use her power to sense us.
>>
>>31155133
>Nah, just hole up in the building like you said you would.

We got anything on us to use as an improv trap? Something simple like basic tripwires and since we have paint rounds like a mini paint mine.

>>The situation on a battlefield is never certain. Hole up somewhere else to ambush the girls.

Save this for round two.

Look for cardboard cutouts, things we can use to give them a run for their money next match - terrain features, hidey holes. Use this as a practice round to get the lay of the land.
>>
>>31155133
You decide to fortify yourself in the building you pointed out. After figuring five minutes have passed, you peek out to see the four girls slowly approaching the building. They then split off into two groups of two, with Cole and Julie in one team and Rochelle and Melissa in another. You see Cole and Julie heading for the front door while Rochelle and Melissa head for the back. That was good, securing possible exits and attacking simultaneously from multiple directions.

>Stay on the defensive and allow them to come to you.

Unfortunately, Rochelle seems to notice where you are and immediately brings her rifle up, firing at your direction. You're forced to duck back inside, the element of surprise gone. Her sense have certainly grown sharper. Meanwhile, you hear Cole and Julie breaching the back door. They were going to be on top of you very soon.

Unfortunately, you totally forgot that Cole had her biosensor, and Julie had her Oracle system. Hell, even Melissa had her newly installed seismic sensor in her augmetic leg. Between the three of them, it was painfully easy for them to track your position, and you're quickly surrounded by the four girls.

"Okay, okay, you got me!" You chuckle as you raise your arms in mock surrender. "I have to admit, you girls are really starting to improve!"

"Well, we have a great teacher." Rochelle says.

"Yeah, and you were bound to screw up some time." Cole grins.

"Aw, you're just mad because you still can't beat him in a straight up fight!" Julie giggles.

"Oh Cole, I thought you'd be better then that." Melissa smiles slyly.

"S-shut up! Both of you!" Cole stammers, sparks leaping from her hair as she gets agitated.

"Come one girls, we still have the rest of the day." You laugh. "While Rochelle did a good job instructing you all on the basics, let's get into more advanced breach and clear techniques...
