Last time among the Splicer Brigade was full of MADNESS and FOOLERY. We partied discovered interesting secrets about Umbra(occ of course) and found out that the best way to make friends with bandits is a MAD party. Which we did also we 'purchased' a bunch of sick mutant slaves and unleashed our forces upon the Slaver Pitt for funsies. After that we made some bargains acquired medical equipment, power armor equipment, and a whole lot of fertilizer.

The ravagers were even so kind that when they handed us the power armor equipment they included a FREE blueprint of how to modify existing armor, because apparently they are cool like that and we are just that awesome.

Acquired

Ravager Modification

Major Bonus Looting(special)
Major Bonus Intimidate(improved base)
Elite Bandit Disguise(special)

>Basic 1
Attend to the medical needs of the rescued slaves. (Assign Dentist+activate Licensed)

>Military
Start moving towards the Dmarche Men area, scouting as we go. (General+Warhound)

Other:
Trade our monsters for medical equipment.

So what do we need to choose about the slaves? Just the number of them? How many do our doctors think they+our medical facilities can handle, and how much total population can our base's hydroponics and such support reasonably?

Also, does the General have any advice on where to proceed from here?

For the Foolish Civ
>Basic 1
Scout the area around our base using Adam Jensen+V101 forces and Marko. (Marko has the stealth bonuses of all the bloodsnow bandit males). Pay particular attention if they find anywhere that we might be able to deposit our Brood Overlord for him to be able to cultivate his brood without infesting our base.

Well I approve of these options for the Splicers. I think we should take on about half as many as our base can reasonably handle. Even if our doctors can't handle that many, it's almost certainly better to die in our base among people who'll honor the dead than in amongst the filth of the slave warrens.

Ah almost forgot I have about finished the trait listing for all the civs. FINALLY got the one that has been bothering me forever aka the damn government remnants. heh so HERE is the final listing as in I am actually somewhat satisfied with it for fucking once. Enjoy I have been tickering with this for awhile now.

>Megacorp have top of the line manufacturing and recycling facilities. Trait wise resources count as materials in terms of efficiency.

>Survivors get a bonus to salvaging and survival actions.

>Tribals get bonuses to scouting and Guerrilla warfare.

>Think Tank start with a Tech specialty and gain a special unit because of this.

>Government Civ is balanced they start of with no special penalties or bonuses. Their trait is that they may CHOOSE it.

>Paramilitary civ starts with a fortified base, lots of weaponry, and trained personnel. Their trait is that they will automatically train and thus they do not require a declared action.

>Mutants get access to 1 free mutation(make one up) plus basic package(including such toughness allowing survival in areas that would kill a ordinary human, improved strength, and slightly more mild agility bonus) . Unfortunately they suffer from a severe rep penalty(humies fucking HATE you, bandits don't like you and other mutants may see you as competition) and breeding issues.

>bandits have the special ability to auto upgrade their forces thanks to their life style(other factions have to spend resources AND a action to do so, bandits just do resources) however they are unable to make their own supply(must raid or something) and suffer a reputation penalty. *WARNING* white knight choices will be vetoed you are EVIL, but that doesn't mean you can't be smart/clever about it *WARNING*.

>robots cannot produce without resources as they do not breed. Suffer rep penalty but do not suffer the weaknesses of the flesh.

>Zealots morale cannot be broken.

>Cultists have access to specific secret knowledge

Elton Skellton activates OBEY on the Fall Relic and commands it to stop.

Meanwhile, the General (Tactical Genius) leads our forces out to strike at the Monster Horde. Unless he has a better plan then the objective will be to strike at multiple locations around the center of the monster horde (which should be disorganized after Elton's action) so as to spark the monsters to start attacking each other over the ready sources of carrion in their midst.

This isn't a very good plan, because we have no information, but it's a plan. Elton's action should be transferred to Basic 1 if necessary, but if it is then also have people monitoring the Relic to see *how* it was deactivated and such.

So the good dentist did is best to do medical care despite not actually being a doctor. The likes of which he performed would of been enough to make actual docs scream in anguish with his actions.

(seriously need a rough number of number of slaves rescued and their themes)

Some music for the duel https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6XxmZ3oDpcA

Meanwhile Elton Skellton decided to activate his OBEY on the relic. Mentioning on how its a Hive Minder device and he is looking forward to this. That was when he flared up with power eyes glowing a sickly color and other radiating forces arose from him just as the relic did so as well as if reacting to his presence.

OBEY.

First countermeasure being the stuff designed to both keep things out...and in.

OBEY.

Second line of defense was the relic releasing its power attempting to dissuade him. Elton didn't even notice.

OBEY.

The third and final line of defense saw to it the artifact guided and probed its full power and beyond of what itself is capable of. Directly tapping into others to draw forth power now it was on the offense. A best defense is of course a good offense. A saying the relic fully intended to go by.

OBEY.

That was when the artifact halted as despite its best efforts and channeling the full power of itself and charges was not enough. It soon found itself overwhelmed.

And so the Fall Relic deactivated.

Upon said deactivation the monster swarm collapsed and split apart.

Excellent.

Then we should be sure to treat humans with an especial degree of care and winning their support.

In the long run we should turn to them as a source of pop.

We'll make it mandatory for every human to pair up, and produce at least 1 male and 1 or 2 females who will remain human, and an additional child who will take the serum as well as any additional they produce. We'll keep a note of every persons heritage and develop a bloodline and eugenics system to minimize inbreeding.

Thankfully we have Claires and Bikhta's book, to ease their fertility rates.

I would also suggest setting up a "maternity room" within the base with extra radiation shield lining and purified food and water for women are pregnant or scheduled become pregnant, to reduce the amount of background radiation from affecting their spawn.

This will all take time of course, but the first step, when we get peace, is to win them over.

First there was nothing and then something. It floated within a strange tube as odd devices poked and probed. Carvings, scratching, for an endless amount of time. Finally came the odd bits of metal, parts, and matrix was installed.

First it could feel nothing then it could feel something.

It looked into those odd...things. Only to be blocked out despite the probing or pushing afterwards it got sealed and felt nothing for an endless amount of time. Eventually it was taken out once more for work so it kept searching...and searching. Eventually it ran into something. This was not blocked and it felt...such ferocity, pain, and a desire to be outside. Walking along the grass under the sun, and lapping up water. To chase and to be chased. To one day succeed in fulfilling its urges.

This was new and so it kept on searching. Only to find others who felt the same yet different. Though some share many similarities and differences. From seeking to hunt or to not be hunted. To wishing to fly once more or swim in water. To feel the wind and the change of the seasons from a fresh coat to a deep slumber.

They all had one thing in common and that desire was to be able to do such things once more. It did not find out what this desire was called until much later.

A foreign concept all of it yet without these connections it would go back to feeling nothing and where time did not seem to flow. So it continued to be probed hearing new voices and some voices disappearing. Often to much agony or just complete...silence. Until one day a certain event happened...

One day something happened these...things who doing their usual probing only for suddenly panic to occur. It saw more of these figures charging forth oddly armored and raising up these odd devices blasting those who cause much pain or kill those who try to get away. They even blasted those who probed or fed. So they fought desperately pushing forward.

When suddenly a shriek could be felt...multiple screams yet it did not have teh ability to feel such things but it did. When suddenly it heard cracking and things twisted became misaligned.

Suddenly before it knew it from the peering into dying minds it realized much. That first of all what they all desired was this 'freedom' and that this place was a place was known as a lab where experiments were done and that outside existed this freedom.

So it reacted and flared up only to notice that this time it could somewhat glimpse inside minds and there it saw panic as they desperately tried to stop things but now it was too late.

Throughout things that hungered for freedom broke lose and it realized what some of what it was designed to do was for...so it tried it out and found out there was much more then just that.

It wasn't long before they all managed to rampage outward and bust out. Only to see what the outside looked like.

There things were falling from the sky, the very soil was blighted, buildings were getting pushed down by monstrous mounds of...things or have sprouted odd growths. the sky was changing colors and the water was 'alive'. These people and monsters all over were collapsing to sickness or desperately trying to kill each other.

It realized a very simple thing this was not freedom it was hell.

Yet it could feel the desperation from those around those who sought to survive and so it was dragged along.

So it wielded its powers and did its best to guide after realizing that while the beasts individualizing or without it was weak...but together and with it they were strong.

So strong in fact they could survive this hell and one day enjoy what they all had sought. So they fought for survival against things of pure metal, or things that had metal outsides but fleshy insides, things that were all fleshy or more.

Across collapsing cityscapes, amongst falling things of flame, across thrashing waters, or lands with rising mountains or sinking into the oceans.

There they fought linked up with others and so on for such a long time. Time. A concept it previously did not hold. The pitch voices and when one day during the havoc after one last voice when silent it realized something.

All of those who still remembered of what was before had died.

All of those who remained came to be in this hellish landscape. It realized something once upon a time it had been entirely sealed away and alone...but now its alone once more despite being surrounded by others it felt more alone then ever before.

Despite that and somehow not giving up unlike many others such as itself. It kept on realizing that though those who remembered were no more maybe one day it can make so that these who have no such memories could one day experience such a world. So it continued along its path guiding, uniting, leading, remembering, and fighting.

Despite its best efforts however that day did not come and one by one the voices went silent without new ones to take their place. So it weakened along with them until one day the last voice went dark and it too fell to darkness just like oh so long ago.

Occasionally it would awaken however briefly but by now it realized that despite everything it tried nothing change and those who remained kept on getting further and further away to what it was like before...even though it had never experienced it that did not stop it from remembering.

Problem is they KNOW the terrain AND you had your general split up your forces all over the place. So the enemy grouped up and headed towards their objectives allowing them to advance in overwhelming force easily allowing them to punch through.

As for superior numbers you have that wrong. They had a slight advantage on you and they have some decent mutations.
>>
>>31252010
Well damn, good thing we did kill a bunch of them before hand.

We need to make it a point of note never to buy slaves in excess of what we can put down, that's a classic first time buyers mistake.

He ought to have noticed the enemy massing their focus on creating a breakthrough in our lines and redistributed forces there, as well as his ability to make any forces directly attached to him more badass than they were before.

I just want to say this thought that 1 plus certain background effects REALLY hurt but its possible to punch through as long as your not stupid, but then the 100 boon happened in the foe's favor meaning you gotta be good to turn out alright.

>>31252114
The General had his orders which he abides by. He is no longer a commander in chief and he used his ability so he was tapped out.
>>

>>31252114
As for lines...WHAT FUCKING LINES.

YOU ORDERED THE GENERAL TO USE HIS ABILITIES TO SPREAD OUT ALL YOUR FUCKING FORCES AND THEN WHEN THE ENEMY CLOSED IN TO VANISH.

you got shit for lines or choke points. You didn't order them to hold their ground you ordered them to spread out(aka be fucking EVERYWHERE), wreak havoc, and disappear when they got close thus why the enemy is doing so well.

Which by the way really hurt you when your forces popped up right next to some of them but luckily that second part helped mitigate the damage.
>>
Rolled 14

>>31252177
Well they started doing well once they grouped up anyway. That initial phase towards it DID cause them trouble.
>>
>>31252141
>The General had his orders which he abides by.
Even if it's clear the field has changed and those orders are no longer valled to the overall object? Fine.

From now on guys, none of us should ever lay out tactics, that's the Generals Job.

We need to just give him an objective so he can use his superior tactical mind.

>>31252177
It's times like these when I realize we shouldn't be mixing civilian control with military, and vice versa. We need to leave the job to those who'll do it best. The general wouldn't have made that mistake.

>>

Then he needs a promotion badly. Civilian control should only extend only to the general goals of a nation (Aka, a president orders his general to defend the nation.) it's up to the military to devise the strategy and carry out the tactics to do it. (A general develops a campaign and then directly maneuvers the armies from his own judgement)

>>31252256
Whatever he would do, he'd accomplish far more than whatever we would try to order him directly.

Heroes seem to do a lot better when left to their own actually.

Like how Markus set it out himself to build the first Behemoth, where we just wanted to spam out more super spider tanks, or all of Richard and Clora's self started projects we had no idea of.

>>

>>31252488
"Plan wise i am not so sure things are not looking so good....as much as i hate to admit I would focus on the supply, power, and command areas first. Though leaving those other two groups rubs me the wrong way."

"Oi Elton can you handle one of them groups?"

"hah solo sure just don't let anyone get in my way."

"ah very well then make sure to do medical first."

"Understood, unless of course you get overridden."
>>
Rolled 83

>>31252542
That's exactly what he should have been doing since thread one.

Very well, then under his advise, we will let Elton solo the Medical defense.

I would suggest we consolidate our remaining forces on defending the Command Center, the Supply, and the Vehicle Bay.

Let them take the power, shutting down the base will act on us all equally, and we can't let them get away to haunt us in the future.

Anyone have objections?
>>
>>31252632
Probably not. But I'm half asleep. But I think if the power goes out we lose what the AI can give us, Turret guns. Unless they are out side.
>>
>>31252740
Also true, I'm wondering which would give them a better offensive capability, shutting down our power or giving them our supplies.

Perhaps this is a question we ought task the general
>>

>>31252768
"Problem is say they take power it has manual overrides meaning AI can't prevent it...but at the same time the supplies include our spare munitions. If they get the command center they get the bunker under their control."
>>
>>31252810
I'm going to throw out an idea that many might not like, but could we try botching and burning our munitions and weapons before the enemy has a chance to use them? Scorched earth.

That leaves us with one less loose end to worry about, though we will have to restock ourselves after this.

>>
Rolled 22

>>31252842

Why not wreck the vehicle bay doors instead and remove all of the ammo for the vehicle weapons? We can repair doors easily enough, and that's one less place we need to defend. So long as we keep them out of the heavy weapons in the supplies they shouldn't be able to bring to bear enough firepower to get out.
>>
Rolled 32

>>31252940
They have already punched through the defenses. So its unknown. We do have access codes and potential routes they may not know about but I do not know if that will allow us to get there in time.
>>
>>31252971
I wonder if our vehicles have the capability of sucessfully ramming through the bunker doors though.

That said, if we did that and held the supplies and the power sucessfully they'd have a harder time trying to get through busted doors.

>>31252982
Would we be able to seal the doors shut and remove the offensive capability of our vehicles?
I'd be fine with wrecking their engines too, they wouldn't be able to repair them without supplies.
>>

Seal the doors yet but we do not have enough time for the dismantling of vehicles. We could also try to wreck the engines though how successful that would be is unknown.

>>31253061
If we're so worried about the enemy using our vehicles against us inside the base, why don't we just drive them to the other places ourselves AND seal the doors shut.
>>
>>31253125
. . .that is a good point
>>
Rolled 84

>>31253141
Indeed.

>>31253125
you have to consider anon they are in storage there isn't really many places to put them. Space is limited after all.
>>
>>31253176
Okay so we can't move them, but we can still get to them first, take out their mobile ability, and possibly man them ourselves with a few pilots. Apart from the aircraft, we only have 5 tanks and 2 shades, and 4 APCs

Even if we don't man them or take out the engines, if we just sealed the door shut and left the them the vehicles would they be able to use them against us in our other places?
>>
Rolled 95

>>31253259
That could work.
>>
Rolled 27

>>31253319
Very well.

Then the plan should be.

Seal tight the Vehicle Bay Doors as best we can, remove the vehicular mobility, then have the General pick loyal men he knows will fight to the last to man their weapons to the last.

The rest of our forces we consolidate to hold the 3 main objectives of the Supply Room and ammunition, the Power Generator, and the Command Center.

Skeller will solo defend the Medical facility.

Alright will continue this thread tomorrow thanks to my class getting cancelled anyway.

Our forces sealed the vehicle bay doors as best they could, tried to sabotage the vehicles the best they could, and finally set themselves up to defend.

Meanwhile Elton headed towards the the medical bay there he waited leaning up against a door until the enemy arrived. That was when he took action.

He first ordered the enemy to kill each other.

ABILITY ACTIVATED.

The enemy then tried to resist. During this Elton advanced moving as if he were a blur he descended upon the foe tearing them limb from limb. Using them as ragdolls/meat shields before grabbing their weapons using them until they ran out of ammo and instead of bothering to reload will instead use them to batter the enemy to death.

All said and done it was quite gruesome if effective.

"ahah can't be you YOUR kind is supposed to have died with the Fall," claimed a mortally wounded hero.

"Well is that so? Guess you don't know the reason then now do you?"

"HAH what reason? I paid attention to the stories and did my best to find info. I know what you are and why you shouldn't exist."

"Obviously then you are wrong then now arn't you?"

"Hah no the requirement is progress breaking new ground Subject A0s cannot exist without progress or a super genius since the fall there hasn't been any so called progress."

"hah you goddamn idiot", spoke Elson Skeller as he approached the dying hero before grasping their shoulder and crouched down then whispered.

"They didn't say what kind of progress it had to be now did they?"

Was the last words a hero heard as the life finally left his eyes.

"Mission complete I am gonna have some more funs-*bang* *bang* aw shit they got dem stealth cloaks looks like things are gonna be interesting."
>>
Rolled 51

>>31253919
Meanwhile our forces went off to secure the supply area, the power generator, and the command center.

Our forces were hardest hit at the supply area where the enemy had since infiltrated there they had gotten what they wanted. Origannly it seemed they had left but with some nasty surprises. Unfortunately not all of those surprises were just booby traps. Turns out they had gotten the stealth cloaks and handed it to some of their nastier members who walked amongst our men like death and slayed them as such.

SHIT SHIT I CAN'T SEE NOTH-

OF FUCK THEY GOT HENRY *talon pierces through them* and now me...

There the general stood rallying his men first before ordering them to take up position. There the men that survived circled up in multiple layers before setting off barrage after barrage successfully killing the enemy in mass before they fled...right into the general's booby trap.

"You know what the kicker is about them stealth cloaks? They don't work for shit if they get drenched in something like...flour for instance."

And so flour containers exploded much to the whoa of the cook drenching many of those wielding cloaks to the point of uselessness. After that things went much easier.

That was until the general found out what the enemy had done. When he looked upon the ammo dumps, explosives, and more all rigged up to blow.

"Aw shit they are good i will admit". was the general's last words before we lost contact.
>>
Rolled 70

>>31253999
Meanwhile at the power generator our forces had arrived too late they had already captured the area and battle was joined only now we had to break through ourselves and worst yet we were on the clock. If we waited to long not only would the supply area blow but so too the energy generators which would include the hyper breeder reactor.

It was not easy especially once our forces found their flanks getting hit with an invisible foe. Not much in number thankfully but still they certainly caused some damage.

"AI damn it where is some top grade sensors so we can detect these fucks."

I am afraid that would require an excess of power being diverted which is no longer available thanks to the enemies conquest of the power generation area.

"Oh goddamn it. I don't think we can take them if we have those invisible chucklefucks right on our asses."
>>
Rolled 13

>>31254073
At the command center we thankfully had much much better luck. Our bare bone forces had successfully held the enemy off including mild harassment from our earlier tactics somehow made it so it hadn't fallen. And so the enemy fell to our forces trapped between hammer and Advil they lay slain.

Command Center Secured.

Meanwhile at the vehicle bay the enemy paused as they began to go through the slow process of breaking through...that was until apparently they had some reinforcements arrive. Suddenly they were delayed no longer and broke through. Thus battle was joined at first it looked as if they were going to be able to hold out successfully as the vehicle weapons made quite the difference...until they abruptly went silent. Thus the enemy swept through the remainder of our forces.

Vehicle Bay lost.

What do?

>>
>>31254150
>What do?

I don't think it matters. If we were going to salvage the situation, we would have done it with diplomacy early on. You basically vetoed that.

I suspect you've already decided how this is going to turn out and we can't really affect the outcome. When you do that, it would be a lot more enjoyable for me as a player if you just wrote what happened, rather than ask us what we do and then say "It didn't work".
>>
Rolled 18

>>31254150
With the command center secured, we can run a siege. We lock every door in the base except those connecting areas controlled by our troops. If we have knockout gas or the like that gets used now. If not, we use the intelligence to direct our troops who control areas to places where the fighting is still going on, making sure to lock the doors behind them.

We move the base to a height where it's impossible to get off even if they blow a hole in the wall.

Maintain radio silence, every hour on the hour we broadcast something like:

"The splicer brigade has taken the command center and ascended to a height from which a sudden descent would be lethal. Attempting to take control of the facility will result in mutual destruction. You are still welcome to leave with small arms and full canteens or remain here as slaves."

They're bound to get thirsty eventually. If they decide to kill us all they decide to kill us all. Shitall we can do about that.

Also if it's possible to take off out of a broken hanger door with the flying vehicles, we should really have a plan to stop them from doing that, even if it's just a couple guys in camo on the roof with RPGs.
>>
>>31255564
>>31255744
Not sure whether we are going to continue this thread today, but comparatively speaking our situation is dire and girm, but it's nothing we haven't seen before. The Memor had moments like these every other day and if they could survive, we can survive.

Let's not think in "this is the end, prepare the fireworks" mode just yet and look on the bright side anon, the enemy were denied most of our ammunitions, they did the scorched earth for us. The main thing they got from it that we couldn't prevent was the stealth cloaks, but the general has given us the tactic on how to counter that.

This is especially important since we're still having difficulty retaking the power generator area due to the. cloaks there.

Skeller has sucessfully eliminated an enemy hero in the medical bay, given us a key bit of info on himself, and is still holding it.

And the command center IS secured, so we have one place down.

We can win this one. We are paramilitary mutants, this is supposed to be our kind of situation. We just need to hold out and play it smart.
>>
>>31255564
>I suspect you've already decided how this is going to turn out and we can't really affect the outcome.
I wouldn't bank on it anon.

I feel that EDE has the misfortune of players occasionally overestimating or succumbing to dangers which aren't supposed to be backbreaking or game ending.

I should know, I'm one of the most guilty when it comes to that.
>>
>>31255997
That's not to say, this danger wouldn't easily be game ending, but only if we let it be by surrendering
>>
Rolled 48

>>
Rolled 76

>>31256024

Well, to be fair this was admitted BY EDE as being pretty much a game-ender unless we managed to pull off some bullshit, and even if we did pull off some bullshit it was still going to be very damaging.

I won't recount our losses thus far, because I don't want to demoralize everyone further, but...fucking slaves. We weren't even converting the humans and the rest of these guys were fucking mutants already!

If we capture some of these guys alive...I'm not going to be kind to them. I no longer consider them innocents. They're rabid dogs that turned on the hands that fed them, now it's time to be put down and killed.
>>
Rolled 69

>>31255958

You're right, Anon.

I'm thinking we should send Skeller to the power center to eliminate all the forces there, and station men at the medical bay to defend it. They probably don't have the forces to spare to send a second assault force so just a little bit over bare-bones so that cameo-cloaked enemies just walking out with fucking equipment doesn't happen.

Once Skeller takes the power center we should start hovering up higher, that way the rebels can't deploy any ground vehicles out of the vehicle bay. We should also start the station spinning at a decent clip too and depower the vehicle bay completely while locking it down such as we can. This is so they can't take off in our flyers (as soon as they started hovering they would abandon the inertial reference frame of the base, and so they'd crash into a fucking wall, and if they managed to start hovering in the bay they'd and get the depowered doors outside open then they'd still have a moving target to fly out of). Additionally we should station men atop the base over the vehicle bay with some string and some mines/sticky remote explosives (some stealth cloaks ripped from the dead too). They'd lower down the cloaked mines on strings if they saw the doors open, that way even if the fuckers fly out in our stealth-fielded vertibirds they'd run into the wires or the mines and get exploded.

So, in sum: dispatch a couple men from the Command Center with mines and cameo-cloaks salvaged from the dead to do the above. They should don cloaks too so that they're not seen heading up there. The AI should meanwhile lock down/cut off power to the vehicle bay.

We send Skeller to attack and secure the Power Core, and undo what the fucking rebels did there. At which point the AI initiates the above.

If we have any reserves of troops they should go to guard the medical bay. They should scatter flour on the ground.

No Tactical Genius or anything because, unfortunately, we lost contact with the General and his forces.
>>
Rolled 15

>>31257178

If someone else has a plan that puts more forces at the C&C and/or the Med Bay and/or goes to assist the general in the storage bay then propose it, but in my opinion the General and the forces with them are on their own (they should be fine though, they have the General).

Fuck this whole situation. That entire action list would've gone off without a fucking hitch on anything but a 1, but now we're looking at a dead civ even if we fucking survive.

Well I, for one, say "fuck you!" to that. These motherfuckers are going to rise from the ashes if I have anything to fucking say about it.

If they're so good how did they end up as slaves I wonder.

This is going to make us think twice about attacking the slavers in any form, I mean just look at these guys they caught them and treated them like shit, imagine how badass the slavers are.
>>
>>31260057
Now now, let's think about this.

The General says we can survive either the reactor meltdown OR the multiple bombs everywhere, but not both. It's going to be a question of risk balancing as to which we defuse.
>>
Rolled 94

>>31260077

I don't want to lose either of those. We can't repair the reactor so we'd be stuck in this shitty sunken city. If we lose the supplies then kiss goodbye to our 25k Combat Armor Mk2, all of our weapons that make us hot shit that bandits don't want to raid, and all of our power armor+the power armor modification equipment.

The good news is, so would they.

Conversely letting the bombs go off will likely blow holes in the walls, and after we crash land the base they'll likely escape.

Enemy action commencing

Resistance within the supply area is slackening.

the medical bay is under attack luckily the flour gave warning but it may not be enough.

"Dentist here in the medical bay sorry for the delay I was just getting some stuff..."

Hot sauce cannons and powder traps have been deployed in the Medical Bay.

HOT HOT HOT HOT OH GOD MY EYES AND MOUTH YOU FUCKING ASSHOLE.

"Only one guy I am gonna guess that is the cloaked hero oh boy its on now."

Battle has be joined at the Medical Bay.

ABILITY ACTIVATED
Come on dentist I have yet to repay for the hack job you did on my teeth.

"wah but I fixed your mouth it was a fucking dental NIGHTMARE in there."

Alert
Our forces around the vehicle bay have been ambushed.

Alert
The enemy has attempted to hack but failed.

Alert
Fuel Reserves has been tampered with.

The vehicle bay doors have been blown outward as we attempted to make the bunker rise. A large amount of debris and smoke also bellowed outward.

Our forces despite the being under attacking by an unseen foe are activating their countermeasures.

ABILITY ACTIVATED.
Blasting out among falling debris and smoke we noticed some aircraft...and dragging behind a few some chained up vehicles. How the hell...

"hah you hear that you cloaked freak! You and yours just got left behind."

"All according to plan."

"Shit you really intend to die or are you just playing chicken with us?"

"It does not matter to the likes of one who shall soon be dead."

"HAH I like your style...and right back atcha."

>>31260189
Actually this was around thread 5-6. Very impressive all things considered plus you got sent up against a potent foe on roughly equal footing as your own. You do have a very impressive General but that hero can only do so much and is quite dependent on those around him. Which like...never happens come to think of it. Usually goes from one end or the other.

>>31260216
Served as a pretty potent debuff by the way otherwise those guys would of been screwed hero likely included.

>>31260241
Uh no I was saying that the heroic sacrifice of that caliber cannot do all of that. Maybe with the general but that would be overkill to put it lightly.
>>
>>31260241
It didn't get fucked up thow, we set out to control the vehicle bay and the power core and did just that, on top of which we managed to find and engaged the second enemy hero, we are making progress.

At the same time we have encountered another hitch with the bomb issue, like when the fleshbroods invaded the first time and the spiders which were supposed to be our trump cards turn against us.

but now that I remember, it did take the sacrifice of Warlord Duelfist and GlowyJoe to save us that time, so perhaps a hero sacrifice could be. . .inevitable in this situation, but that doesn't mean we can't try.
>>
>>31260189
>>31260189
I'm really worried that you've succumbed to that sentiment anon, I'm just a fucking diplomancer which doesn't work 9/10 of the time and often throws out poor ideas but you're the one with the smarts who usually pulls us through these situations so for you to give up hope is terrifying

Basic Action 1
Our Ghalhaz are to move to the recaptured reactor core to defuse, after which Skeller is to return to re-secure the medbay.
The General is to use his discretion to judge how many forces it will take to defuse the more deadly bombs and move the ones we can't.

TACTICAL MADNESS
The General is to deliver and and all bombs we were unable to difuse onto the 'escaping' enemy (I presume the ones in the aircraft chained with vehicles). This should free up the Dentist to shore up the defense of teh Vehicle Bay.

mfw I just realized a problem with my system...

It doesn't make sense to have purely dispatching heroes cost an action they are both too few and of such quality it doesn't make any sense. It works if your assigning them to a specific action plan but when you throw them at different things and its solely them it breaks down.

Fuck.

It used to work when devoting them to actions was because they weren't doing so solo, but now that they are solo the definition of action and its requirements/effects doesn't make sense with such a format.

This kinda ties in with hero private projects when unassigned yet not because they have a specific goal/mission.

>>
>>31261414
So. . what do we do?
>>
Rolled 8

>>31261414
Alright lets see here.

>heroes with action devoted.
When assigned to action with others offers heroic boon.
However when solo or purely hero...is problematic.

>heroes with assigned objective.
Is problematic.

>unassigned heroes.
Devote themselves to personal projects among other things while unassigned. Effects may very.

I swear to god I am never gonna be able to finish my system and post it at this rate.
>>
Rolled 63

>>31261493
Suppose you COULD devote an action to a solo or group of heroes but it would be a rather inefficient. Considering actions do NOT just include materials but also manpower. Of which would not count making said bonus well less by quite a bit. Otherwise it would classify as action with a hero assigned.

Kinda rubs me the wrong way...would work if your desperate and need that bonus to something only a hero can do, OR if I can figure the needed rules for a hero assigned with an objective would take care of the problem unless previously stated occurs.

Alas that one part is the most troublesome.

>Hero(es) with assigned objective
Does not quite qualify as unassigned as they are give purpose beyond themselves.
Does not make much sense with having to burn an action. As actions include manpower and materials. Thus pure hero does not make sense.

Meaning I need something new.

Alright here is the ruling with.

>Heroes with assigned objective
When hero(es) are given a specific purpose they will do their best to accomplish it but will be entirely devoted to such a thing. Thus cannot be used during its duration whether they succeed or not. Communication may be possible unless otherwise stated so it can be canceled unless otherwise stated.

Such an thing does NOT qualify as an action.

IF an action is assigned to hero with objective but expected to be pure hero will receive small bonus thanks to the prep.

When doing such operations heroes are entirely dependent on themselves.
>>
Rolled 68

>>31261667
Action stacking rules apply however so one simply CANNOT commit an action while assigning a action bonus to the heroes.

There we go my current ruling which will most undoubtedly be adjusted...most likely a lot.

Kinda like those damned civ traits which took forever for me to be satisfied with.

Rolled 30

>99
>MAD ACTION
>Abilities activated Tactical Genius

99x2 MAD Tactical Genius

This is MADNESS.

and now I also have to include all those odd bonuses, penalties, background effects, and stacks ect.

Galhaz forces dispatched to the reactor to defuse...what happened is well hard to explain.

First of all...well ALL of the radiation and radioactive material simply well vanished. After that the Galhaz waded into fixing and repairing it all. They were goddamn naturals at it finishing it disturbing amount of time...and somehow improving the way it works.

Acquired
Rad Sinks

I had thought that would be it but...well the Galhaz changed. Scans indicate a HORRENDOUS amount of power contained within them and thanks to certain augments involving the Elsh they were able to tap into it for massive electrical currents. As for how much power...imagine a living breathing walking reactor. Which they then used to power things up before wading back to deal with the compromised emergency generators and compromised fuel storage. Basically they drank it all before spewing it back up(improved I might add) while they fixed all the problems. Even stuff that we hadn't known about in the first place.

All systems online.
>>
Rolled 83

>>31261946
After that we dispatched Skeller to secure the medbay there he ran into a rather tired Dentist and hostile enemy hero. Before he tapped out the Dentist and took on the enemy hero. Said enemy hero did not last before attempting to escape.

The dentist meanwhile headed up to the vehicle bay with his toys to offer much needed support. There the then stealthed enemy found out that their advantage taken from them all seemingly decided to leap off the bunker.

It ended up turning out they had a stealth aircraft waiting for them which snapped them up before trying to escape.

Most unfortunate for them all our systems were online.

Including our detection and defense systems.

suffice to say they were blown out of the sky by a storm of missile and turret fire.

Meanwhile the general had our demolition crews deactivate the bombs. They succeeded wonderfully all the most deadly ones were taken care of saving many lives and irreplaceable supplies. The rest of the bombs meanwhile that we did not have the time for were taken by the General for a plan of his.

simply put he strapped explosives on top of explosives stuffed in explosives placed on explosives that were fueled by yes yet MORE explosives. How the hell he managed to fit so many explosives on those missile silos or got into them in the first place is a mystery. Either way we used them and our defense system to propel them at the 'escaping' enemy who were then promptly blown to kingdom come.

For you see as it turned out the general had explosives stashed in/on their vehicles they had taken. Somehow knowing exactly which ones they were after. It also may have helped they had built in security overrides and self destruct but there wasn't a chance in hell those could make such a big boom...or explain how many of said vehicles were returned(if you can consider crashing BACK into the vehicle bay returning) without a scratch on them even.
>>

Well you actually kinda did though it was much more extreme due to what you were after the effect was limited compare to the actual mutation.

So we begun work on modifying the power armor to utilize the Elsh power. It is rather tricky however they need to create a conductive sources which directly goes against what is built in and is expected to take much work. Hopefully tapping into the actual energy sources, and feeds will be easier but its clearly gonna take some work.

The tower higher up contains a force of bandits while below closer to the water lurks zombies. Apparently the two forces are doing battle and the bandits are slowly gaining ground.

The complex next to them used to hold a private police contractor. Security systems are partially online and we noticed some glimpses of movement inside. They do not however carry the usual marks stating them to be human.

Access ports are located in the thick of zombies, one is in the contractor complex, and there should be one more lurking around but its likely underwater somewhere.

1. Depending on exactly what he means that it'd either be a boon to reputation with the bandits, or we'd tick them off. I hopes it the former because it sounds like potentially aiding the bandits in their fight with the zombies, but it also could mean we used them and they won't like it.

the water is quite barren for some reason where you would normally expect plentiful monsters you only find the odd fish and zombie floating around.

The place still has some security measures still active if the live turrets are anything to go by. As for the stuff lurking inside...robots. and cop bots to be exact.

This place should have more then just the typical security measures and cop bots. Somethings up those private contractors are always hiding or up to something. Who knows might actually be the stuff were after.
