Welcome to Banished Quest!
You take the role of a young mage, labeled a criminal by his people and cast out into the wider world. In the last thread, you cooked breakfast, broke a child's shoulder, and finally learned the blast metamagic!

You survey the training room. Your repeated blast spells kicked up quite a lot of sand, and a cone directly in front of where you're sitting is just bare stone. The training weapons against one wall have been knocked over and scattered around the room. The hallway directly outside the training room is covered in sand for a good twenty feet or so. No property damage though, which is an improvement. You could fix cracked stone easily enough, but broken vases, torn drapes, busted doors, and the like are outside your purview.

Deciding you'd rather not be around when whatever janitorial staff this Academy houses find out the state you've reduced the training room too, you swiftly make your exit. After you've put some distance between yourself and the scene of the crime you take a moment to assess the time. It's properly dark out, but too cloudy for you to get a look at the moon. It couldn't have taken you too terribly long to meditate though. You'd guess it's roughly two hours until midnight. Students still mill about the halls, at least these parts of the halls. They cloister together and speak quietly amongst one another, though you do see a few casting glances your way. After your 'war game' stunt you're not surprised.

You've got a big day tomorrow, you'll have to face a master of water magic in a duel. You can't even recall the last time you actually fought, one on one, against another vatis. Well, that's not entirely true. You suppose you paralyzed one this morning, even though it didn't stick and he didn't really fight back. That counts as a fight... sorta.

You make your way through the halls of the academy to your guest suite, thankfully avoiding that asshole you ran into this morning. You doubt you have anything to fear from him as far as retaliation goes while you're within the walls of the Academy, but you'd still rather avoid that particularly unpleasant colleague of yours. When you push open the door, Fulvia greets you with a bow. Was she waiting for you? “Dux, I've finished copying the Five Effects tome. All of the images of of perfectly legible quality and, if you'd like, I can show you how to operate the Archeota.” You nod your head in acknowledgment. “That's wonderful to hear, thank you Fulvia. For now though I just think I'd like to get some rest.”

She follows you through the kitchen, where you have to step over a passed out Profectus. Judging by the bruise on his cheek you have to assume he got into some kind of fight with someone or other. It's a pretty nasty bruise too, you're surprised teeth aren't strewn about the floor. Still, it's not particularly hard to heal him and other than that he seems pretty comfortable crumpled up like that. Fulvia follows you, daintily stepping over Profectus and answering your question before you can ask it. “He made a rude pun related to Chryssa's horns after the consumption of copious amounts of alcohol. She is currently meditating on the balcony. We are out of wine.”

Well, that makes sense. You'd probably make jokes about her horns two if you drank gallons, quite literally gallons, of wine. Profectus might have an alcohol problem. As long as he keeps it together when the three of you are in the shit, it's not really your business though. You strip off your vatis robes, almost hard to believe you'll be changing them out for a new version soon, as well as your armor and boots. You're climbing into bed when you notice that Fulvia is still standing in the doorway. Watching.

“Is there something you'd like to ask?” She immediately chimes in. “May I be given leave for the evening?”
>Sure, you don't need to ask me.
>You may, you performed admirably copying those books.
>What do you need leave for? I'll consider it.

You look at her oddly for a few moments. You can't really imagine her hitting the bars and brothels. Mainly because, well, there's nothing down there. What else does anyone do on leave? Shop? “What do you need leave for?” She responds promptly. “I wish to peruse the library and perhaps explore the city. I assure that I am more than capable of taking care of myself, and I have no ill intent.” She declares this proudly, the projected image of her drawing itself up. “I may also visit the Artificer, we have previously discussed making some alterations to this body. Mainly in relation to the power supply.”

“And just how do you intend to pay the Artificer for his services?” She once more responds without hesitation. “Information. I will reveal the nature of several artifacts he has yet to grasp. I will also provide him more details relating to constructs, how they were made, and what each model can do.”

>Very well then, I see nothing wrong with that. Off you go.

Nigga, he's behaving like a little spoiled child. We had to bail him out which cost us a fortune (20 gold is a lot of money no matter how rich we are right now) because of his irresponsible behavior.

You think about it for a moment, but eventually shrug. “Well, I see no harm in it. Don't do anything I wouldn't do.” You pause to contemplate for a moment. “Scratch that. Don't do anything Chryssa wouldn't do.” Another pause. “Just... don't get in trouble.” She smiles slightly and bows. “Of course not, Dux. I will be on my best behavior! After all, I represent not only myself, but you and the Empire as well!” She turns about on her heels and walks swiftly out of the room.

Huh. She's an odd one. Then again if you were trapped in a abandoned research facility for a thousand years you'd probably be odd too. More odd than you already are, at least.

You wrap yourselves in the silk sheets of your bed and fall asleep quickly, the trials and tribulations of the day catching up to you. There never seems to be a truly quiet moment in your life, even though the last few days have been peaceful compared to the week before. Still, you can't help but look forward to the future. You've got plenty of work, it's interesting and rewarding, and not only that it provides you opportunity to increase your own knowledge.

You're awoken early by the smells and sounds of a good breakfast cooking. You push yourself lazily into a sitting position, extricating yourself from the tangled covers and stretching some of the early morning stiffness out of your joints. Judging by the orange and pink coloration of the sky, it must be the crack of dawn. You also note that the persistent cloudy gloom that hung over the city for most of the last two days has finally passed.

You climb off of your bed and get dressed. You leave your armor in favor of juts your vatis robes, since your armor is banned during the exam. You slip your dagger into your sash, and slip the compact sword into your sleeve. Your pistol, spear, and sword get left where they are for now. Thus armed and dressed, you wander into the kitchen to see what's cooking and who's doing it.
(1/2)
>>
>>31262060

We could just ask nicely later. She has being pretty forthcoming all this time. Relax, it earn us more being reasonable to her that being an intransigent asshole. Her whole recreating the empire is not quite feasible in our life time (even extended by vatis)
>>
Profectus is drooped over the stove, elbow propped against the counter, pushing what looks like some kind of vegetable and meat medley around in a pan. You definitely see chunks of lam, sausage, peppers, and maybe even apples and dates. It smells pretty good though. You clap him on the shoulder as you pass by on your way to the kitchen table, and he perks up. “Mornin' commander. Patrols all clear.”

Seems he's still half asleep, or half drunk. Probably both. You take a seat and after about ten minutes he slaps a plate down in front of you, slumping into a chair on the opposite side of the table. Chryssa shuffles in a few minutes later, plating herself up and taking a seat next to you. No sign of Fulvia, but she might not be back yet.

What are your plans for the morning? Your exam is at high noon.

You decide that, once you finish this surprisingly delicious breakfast, you'll go find Fulvia. Seriously though, what did he season this with? It's great. “Hey, Profectus.” You snap your fingers a few times to see if you can rouse him a little. It does the trick, and he perks up enough to give a sloppy salute. Only slowly does he realize he probably doesn't really need to salute, and drop his hand. “Er, yeah? What'dya need Mik?” Mik? Well, that's not the worst nickname.

“How'd you make this? It's really good.” Chryssa nods her head sleepily in agreement, shoving another fork full in her mouth. Profectus seems confused, looking down at his plate and pushing the contents around with bleary eyed confusion. “I dunno, man... your guess s'good as mine. Think I jus'... tossed our leftovers together or somethin'. It was a time honored tradition to have Wish Stew every few days for breakfast.” Chryssa mumbles. “Wish Stew? This isn't a stew at all...” To which Profectus, seeming slightly more awake, responds. “Well, usually it's some kind of stew. We just tossed everything in a pot and 'wished' that it would taste good.”

Conversation sort of bumbles along for a bit after that, everyone mostly focusing on eating. Once everyone's finished you stand up. “Well, I'm going to go make sure Fulvia didn't get into any trouble.” Profectus comments. “Yeah, I was wondering where she was. She went off to wait by the door as soon as she finished copying that book, figured she must've snuck out or something.” You wave a hand dismissively. “No, I gave her leave to explore and do a few other things. I guess constructs don't need sleep, so it makes sense nights would be boring for her.” Chryssa nods, and stands up as well. “I will go with you, I have nothing better to do.” Profectus follows suit, pushing himself away from the table. “Guess I might as well.”

The three of you set off. Fortunately you don't run into that asshole from yesterday, but it's so early most people are probably still asleep. You're surprised when, upon reaching the hallways, you find them packed with people frantically rushing to and fro. Maybe mornings are prime time for classes, or something? You pick your way through the crowd towards the library, figuring that's your best bet. It takes you almost a half hour the hallways are so crowded, but by the time you finally get there they've cleared out. It's pretty odd, all things considered.

You ask the woman at the front desk if she's seen a human woman, a bit on the short side, brown hair, wearing Rhynian style clothing. She nods her head, and says she was here earlier reading books from the public section, but left a few hours ago. You sigh, and make your way to the Artificer's Workshop. However, upon opening the door you find the workshop abandoned. Not even Hayes is around.

actually killing the guard was literally the only option.

And there were multiple ways out, we could have just killed the guy at the gate. It was an easy escape.

And the mask was a dumb decisions that will have bad consequences, nothing more.
>>
>>31263059
Why do you think the robot is suddenly going to start whipping out long forgotten weapons to begin subjugating the country we're in? IF we're concerned about this at all it's not going to be for a while, and they're going to be indicatorsof what she's up to since she's going to be with us most of the time.
>>
“Damn it, you know what I keep forgetting to do?” You ask, and Profectus responds. “What?” You reach into your bag and pull out the case of communications brooches. “Distribute these things. I mean, we could've avoided this whole situation if I'd been more attentive.” Chryssa quirks an eyebrow. “Don't those require blood to add someone to the...” She waves a hand through the air absentmindedly, trying to think of the word she's looking for. Profectus speaks up. “Network. That's what we called it, at least.” Chryssa shrugs. “That works. Anyway, it wouldn't have worked on Fulvia since she doesn't have blood, as far as I know.”

Huh, that's a good point. Then again you don't really understand the core that houses her personality. It might be able to converse with the brooches without needing blood. “Well... we should still get this out of the way, yeah?” They both nod, and you pull out three brooches. You prick your finger on one, then pass it to Profectus, then repeat that procedure twice. Eventually it ends up back in your hands with everyone's blood having been added, and you clip the brooch to your Vatis robes.

You don't immediately notice any sort of difference, but once Chryssa puts hers on you feel a sort of vague connection to her. When Profectus puts his own on you feel a similar, though distinctly different connection open. You can definitely tell one is Chryssa, and the other is Profectus.

>>
>>31263174

>>
You take the plunge, and try to 'think at' both of the connections. Profectus jumps, though Chryssa remains as passive as ever. {Oh shit, that's really fucking weird. Like, god damn.}. You hear Profectus' voice quietly at the back of your head, as if from a great distance, or as if it were only an echo. He's more foul mouthed in his head than he is out loud. Chryssa responds with. {I do not appreciate having my thoughts assaulted by profanity.} You cut in before it turns into some sort of mental argument. {Guys, cut it out. I think we've confirmed that the brooches work.}.

With that, the connections go inactive. You can still feel them, and you could open them at any time, but you can't just passively read their thoughts. Profectus speaks up immediately afterwards. “You guys both think in Rhynian?” You shake your head. “No, Samjan usually. I can think in Rhynian though.” Chryssa nods her head in agreement. “I think in the Polopian dialect of Dwoveth.”

Huh, curious. The brooches must translate whatever you think into Rhynian. “Well, it doesn't seem like either Fulvia or Hayes is here. Fulvia will get back whenever she gets back. Anything you two just desperately want to get done?” Chryssa shakes her head. “No, I've hit something of a wall with channeling.” Profectus shrugs. “I wouldn't mind trying to get a little better at fire magic. Might help me manage my arm a little better.” You start walking, leaving the workshop behind. "I think an impromptu tutoring session should suffice to kill time until my exam. Then after that we should start thinking about leaving town. We've got things to do, places to explore."

The three of you spend the next few hours in the library. You try to explain to Chryssa how she should conceptualize channeling vys into mental actions. You try an array of metaphors and demonstrations. Nothing really seems to work though, and you don't want to overtax yourself. You need to be at the top of your game for the exam. Eventually she settles in to meditate, and try a few things, but you don't really expect her to make much progress. It took you months to figure out mental channeling, and you don't even think she's fully mastered physical channeling yet. She certainly can't do it on the fly, which is what she really needs to be working on. She insisted on trying at least one more time though.

While she meditates, you have a conversation with Profectus. You know he was selected for the experiment that gave him his arm because of his slight affinity for fire magic. However, you learn that they didn't actually provide him any training. He doesn't even know how to meditate. It looks like they just chopped off or transmuted his arm into what it is now and then let him loose to see what happened. Highly unprofessional, in your opinion. Thus, you make your first goal teaching him to actually, properly meditate. He has some trouble with it initially, but eventually he settles into a comfortable position and seems to drift off. Then again, he might just have fallen asleep.

As you're sitting back and relaxing, both of your companions tuned out to the world, you spot Fulvia wandering through the entry hall. He looks nervous. Fidgety, would be the best way to describe her. Otherwise fine though. Look the same as ever, projection hiding the metal construct beneath. She turns her head towards you when you call out, though it earns you a dirty look from the library attendant. She approaches swiftly once she's spotted you.

You note that her projection isn't as solid as it used to be. It wavers more frequently, and you can sort of see through it in certain places. As she draws closer, you note that the metal beneath her 'hands' is charred black. She bows low, and then says quietly. "Dux, I apologize that I am late. I hope I did not worry you."

>Ask her what happened.

>>
You look her over, raising an eyebrow in that vaguely disapproving way you recall your parents using when you acted up as a child, or that your master gave you seemingly at random to fuck with your head. “What happened?” There isn't inflection to your voice, but she flinches slightly. Her fingers twitch. “Well, Dux. After I received my upgrades from Mr. Hayes in the Artificer's Workshop, I decided to explore the town. I got... well, I got lost. I ended up in a rather destitute portion of the city. I think I must have left the upper quarter gates at some point.” You motion for her to get to the point. “In brief, sir. I believe I either-” Her voice drops to a whisper, partially she seems ashamed but you imagine it's mostly just to prevent ease dropping. “-killed or severely wounded two men attempting to burglarize a home.”

>Gods damn it, Fulvia! Have they found the bodies yet?

You screw up your face in surprise. “How'd you know they were burglars, and how did you interfere with a burglary to begin with? I mean, wouldn't the burglars be inside the home? ” She responds promptly. “They were wearing wooden mask carved to resemble mythical beast, and were heavily tattooed. They had also broken the door open with a crowbar and were carrying some manner of lounging bench out the door when I encountered them.”

Well, those certainly sound like burglars. “Okay, but why interfere? Sure they were criminals, but there is a system in place to punish criminals. Just killing them isn't exactly proper.” She looks at you confused for a moment. “One of my directives is to see to it that order is maintained within any Rhynian facility. It may have been something of a stretch, but this town was a former holding of the Empire. I saw it as my duty to interfere. Initially I'd only meant to stun them but... well, I underestimated my own strength.”

You sigh, rubbing your eyes wearily. “Well, to be perfectly honest I was expecting much worse. Like, that you stalked Hayes home and murdered him in his sleep or something. I don't know.” She looks at you confused. “Why would I murder Hayes? He's been nothing but kind.” You shrug. “Paranoia was getting the best of me. Anyway, we leave town soon so I doubt it will be an issue. If it does become an issue we'll deal with it then.”

She lets out a sigh of relief, and her projection returns as strongly as ever. “I am relieved. I had dedicated more than seventy percent of my procession power to estimating your reaction. Only in forty seven out of two hundred sixty three possible scenarios did you react as you have.” That's... kind of endearing? Kind of creepy? You can't quite decide.

You decide that you might as well meditate a little before your exam. Refresh your memory. At the very least, you don't lose anything my meditating. At best, you gain a valuable insight into water magic that may aid you in the coming exam. You assume a meditation pose and are about to slip into your meditative trance when you're reminded of that little vial filled with the roiling blue substance called Spice.

You reach into your bag and pull it out, studying it. Is it really ethical to- oh, who are you kidding. You don't really care about the ethics of it. You're more worried about the side effects and possible addiction. Sadik just said it was once used long ago as a meditation aid before battles. If that's the case, why did anyone ever stop using it? After contemplating the vial for a few moments, you decide the only way to find out is to try it.

You have some trouble initially figuring out how it's used. There's obviously a specific way you're supposed to hold it, and you figure that out easily enough. Then you wrap your lips around what looks like the opening. Nothing really immediately happens. On a hunch, you try inhaling it. You're almost over powered by the taste of cinnamon. It's enough that you nearly gag.

The vial slips from your hands, and you feel yourself falling backwards. Gods above and below, the walls are melting. You'd probably be panicking under any other circumstances, but for some reason you're overwhelmingly calm. You feel weak, your heart palpitating. You feel power coursing through every fiber of your being. You feel small and inconsequential. You feel like a god.

You're immortal.

You are a God.

Unfortunately, you're not the only god. Next to you is your lover, in front of you is your enemy. Below you are your children, your scheming, plotting, spoiled children. The fire burns you, but it does not break you. You are stronger than anything this madman could throw at you. You will prove once and for all that only you are worthy of your creation's worship.

You douse his flame, weaken him, torment him. The fundamental basis of reality flows from his wounds into your creation. Your lover entraps him, enslaves him. He is destroyed. Only you will remain.

You are a Man.

The scion of your family line, it is your responsibility to prove yourself to the world. Once slaves, your family is affluent. You will face another man, and you will crush him. Humiliate him. Reduce him to less than nothing, a child in comparison to yourself. He has not wronged you, but he will. He will seek revenge and he will get it, because of what you are about to do. You are not sure how you know this, but you do.

You next become conscious of yourself in a cramped hallway. You're with the Archmagos. He's saying something, and you're responding. You don't know what you're saying. In front of you is a door. No, a cave. Sunlight streams in from a hole in the ceiling. Two men and a woman observe. You don't recognize any of them. Your Opponent stands across from you. He is weak.

You will break him.

You know this battlefield. You've seen it before. You know ever bump and crack in the stone walls. Every pool of water and the spring from which it flows. Every movement you make you strain against the overwhelming urge to destroy this place. Bring the rubble crashing down upon yourself, the judges, the Archmagos. Kill them all. Kill yourself. You resist. You can feel the moisture in the air, on the ground, in yourself. You can see, feel, smell the blood flowing through Your Opponent's veins. He is weak.

The Archmagos steps between the two of you. He says something. You approach. You grasp Your Opponent's hand, you want to break it. You are unable. That would run counter to your Objective. The Archmagos steps away from the two of you. The judges are speaking. You can't hear them over the blood rushing through your ears. You stare wide-eyed at Your Opponent. A grin splits your face. You say something. He laughs. He is weak.

The two of you separate. You're at opposite ends of the cave. The Archmagos is going to say something, and your opponent will attack you. You have the initiative.

The Archmagos says the word. Your Opponent sends spears of ice soaring towards you, materialized from the air itself. They stop before getting more than a few feet, and fly back at him. He's surprised. You yawn. He ducks and the spears of ice sail overhead. He thinks he's won. The first spear stabs him in the shoulder from behind with enough force to snap in half, spinning him around so the second spear strikes him in the abdomen. The spears vanish, though not really. You can still feel them there, a mist hanging in the air.

He is bleeding. You laugh. You can't help it. It's a deep, bombastic laugh. He is healing himself, but not fast enough. The world moves at a crawl. Time itself yields to the power coursing through your veins. You are a god, and he is weak. You are a god, and he is weak. You are a god, and he is weak. The mantra pounds through your head incessantly. The sight before you is warping, twisting, flickering. As if it were a mere shadow of reality, and you the true judge of what is and is not real. Should you will it, this whole world would collapse.

A chair materializes below you, raising you up gently into a lounging position. At the same time, Your Opponent finds himself shackled at the hands and feet. A chain forms from thin air, looping its way through hoops which attach themselves to the ceiling. You jerk the chains, suspending him in the air. He is at your total mercy. You could rend him in half if you so desired. Kill him right then and there. You smell the fear that pervades him.

Instead you heal his wounds. They snap shut immediately, as if they'd never been. Not even scars remain, only holes in his robes showing that he had ever been wounded. He looks at you confused. He looks at you terrified. He looks at you furious. A range of emotions flicker over his face, non persisting from one moment to the next. You laugh. A puppet materializes from the air in front of you. It is a replica of you. An idol for your worshipers to covet, and it clasp in its hands a spear.

Your Champion marches towards Your Opponent. He looks on warily, helpless. You say something. He responds. The judges speak amongst themselves. The Archmagos is afraid. Your Opponent is trying to dissipate the chains that bind him. You are not letting him.

Well considering before we became masters a lot of shit seemed impossible to do(like slowing down our heartbeat, or making the ice mansion) on a whim can be done now, plus considering that to master something we needed to pass 2 dcs, while to grandmaster we need to pass 5 DCs and a special requirment.

>>
You loosen his binds, and he drops to the floor. A sword materializes at his feet. He is reluctant to pick it up. You jerk his chains. Hate emanates from every pore of his body as he bends down to pick up the sword. He twirls it skillfully in his hands. Your champion bows to him. He spits in your general direction. You jerk his chains. You're saying something that you can't hear.

He slashes at Your Champion. It is a cautious attack. Your Champion blocks it easy. This duel is fake. Your Opponent is not even particularly trying. He is humiliated. He hates himself. He hates you. He hates this entire institution. He gets a good strike in. Your Champion's hand reforms. You laugh. Your Opponent is crying. Your Champion strikes him in the shoulder. It is not a serious wound.

Your Opponent is going to attack you. The Archmagos is going to end the duel. You've made a joke of your opponent. There is no way you are merely a Master. You must be more than that. You must be a special talent. There must be something wrong with you. The judges are disappointed. The judges are entertained. The judges are scared.

>Make it all vanish, and remove all water in the room.. The duel is over.

>When he's about to attack, have Your Champion run him through. The judges can heal him.

The better question is what happens to a grand master with this magical spice.

The chains vanish. Your Champion vanishes. Everything vanishes. It dissipates into mist. It hangs heavily in the air. He is gathering his power. He wants revenge, and he will get his revenge, but not at this juncture. No, not at this juncture. You heal his wounds. He cast a spell. His spell fails. There is no water in this cave. The air is uncomfortable to breathe. It sucks moisture from your throat and lungs. Your opponent coughs. The judges fidget. The Archmagos is saying something.

You are deteriorating. You are corrupted. No mortal is meant to hold such power. But you are not a mortal, says the voice in your head. It is not your own voice, but it inhabits the same mind. You are something greater than mortal. You will be something greater than a mortal. You will trust me. You will be me. The voice is fading. You can hear once more.

You stare at the Archmagos dazed. You are not in the testing grounds anymore. He looks at you concerned. “Mikhael? Mikhael are you there?” He is concerned for your health. How odd. You are speaking. “I'm fine. Why do you ask? Didn't I win?” He waves a hand dismissively. How dare he dismiss the words of a Divine. “Yes, yes. You won quite handily. You completely embarrassed poor Maximilien. Your eyes are not the same. The whites are tinted blue.”

What will you tell this man, Mikhael?

Its a secret my master taught me.
He told me it was done during the war with the Ryhtium Kingdom, and it basically allows you to take in great power, but it makes you think you are a god in the flesh, of course such meditation is very dangerous and was usually only used as a last resort.
>>
>>31267347

>>
>>31267400
Can you clarify the difference in power between master and grandmaster?
>>
>>31267423
The difference between a master and a grandmaster is pretty stark, much greater than the difference between an Expert and a Master.

Not to the extent of the shit you just pulled though. A master at least has a chance against a Grandmaster. That wasn't even a proper fight.
>>
>>31267385
That's unprofessional and dangerous.

And just fucking rude.
>>
>>31267408
That is not a hint, Very good is surviving without the god following us.

We survived with the god following us
>>

Ah yeah, i wonder if the god is friendly.who am i kidding
Also that is a good idea.
>>
>>31267456

>>
You look at him confused for a moment. You feel an intense exhaustion surging through your limbs. An ache. “It was a method my master taught me. It allows me to meditate while in battle. Usually tends to wear me out, but it also makes me incredibly powerful for a short time.” He raises an eyebrow, obviously curious. “Really? Perhaps because you draw vys from the atmosphere while still casting, or perhaps because our instincts are more powerful than conscious thought...” He rubs his chin contemplatively. “You'll forgive me, I touched your mind during the battle. You were inhuman. An unthinking machine. It was as if for a brief moment you were not alive, but a walking corpse. I was... worried, to say the least.”

He waves his hand dismissively. That annoys you. It annoys you greatly. You could kill this man. Your waning power flares to life once more. You want to crush him. He resumes speaking. “Anyway. The judges are deliberating on your scores now. They want-” He fades out. “-grandmaster-” The edges of your vision are going black. “-So what do you think?” Reality snaps sharply once more into focus. You smile. “I'm sorry, could you repeat the question? I slipped away to la-la land for a bit there.” Worry once more flashes across his face, but he doesn't say anything. “I said, they're probably going to declare you a grandmaster. Maximilien is demanding it, to save face I imagine. If that's the verdict they come out with, I could veto it and just give you your master's robes. I don't want you to be forced into a position you can't handle.” Can't handle? Fuck him! You're a god!

>Ask to only rise to the rank of Master.

“Oh... well, I don't think I'm ready to be a Grandmaster just yet. I'm not at that level. The only reason I won so easily was because of a metamagic trick my Master taught me.” The Archmagos nods slowly, warily. You think you're swaying slowly back and forth, though you can't quite tell. You might be hallucinating. “Very well, I'll make sure they don't try to promote you past your ability just to save Maximilien some embarrassment. The verdict should come through in the next few-”
>Vys Pool: (-9/[0])
>You're suffering from Spice Withdrawl!

You fall backwards, but not in a drug induced hallucinatory daydream like you had a few... units of time ago. You're unconscious before you hit the ground. You feel empty. More so than you ever have before. You are not a god. You are less than a man. You are an insect, and you will be crushed.

Nope, it all went towards the battle. If you'd solely meditated (Which I probably would've done as some sort of dream sequence, and had last maybe an entire day, maybe two days), things would've been different.

something tells me that we shouldnt do drugs people. So i propose we get rid of the addiction and dont touch it. The highs worth it if we are in a boss battle, but the crash later isnt.

i was always under the impression that withdrawal comes from addictions. Your body thinks it needs it due to the substance altering its make up, so when none is in the system it has withdrawal and crashes.

Either tomorrow or Sunday. Definitely on Monday.

>>31268061
You are thinking is right, but isn't an addiction where we are craving more, but in reality an imbalance that our body has experienced.
>>
>>31268061
Withdrawal is the crash after the a high.
Addiction is the dependency on the substance.
>>
>>31268014
Soma has there been any recorded instance of a god either having a physical form or acting through someone's mind or soul?
>>
>>31268169
Depends on who you ask. Most priest, monks, mendicants, and zealots will say they feel either Pani or Surya touching their lives and spirits every day. A million and one people have seen Pani rising from the village well to bless them. Every warrior says Surya has come down from on high to slay their enemies.

None of this is verified though, and you've never personally seen a god as far as you know.
