Previously: After crashing a Sunday service at Choice Hills Baptist church, Asher and company were attacked by military forces, driving them into several degrees of corners through the sudden assault with completely unexpected forces.

Fleeing from the church, they took to the highway in a comandeered military truck where Asher took time to rest and report to his astral benefactors.
After being healed by Asherah and gifted the power of Pyromancy by Lucifer, he awoke to direct his allies.

Some time after fleeing along the highway, they found the truck taken down from outside, crippling it from further travel.

After taking a long and tired walk to their destination, Asher meets another platoon on those insane mechanical monstrosities
After destroying and crippling a couple, they get the upper hand and snuff Eshe.

After losing consciousness in a final attack, you're saved by a man of many groping fingers.
Awakening in safety, you meet... Jackie.

The sun shines down on Vegas, July 7h, a Monday morning

You've settled yourself into Jackie's home after a bit, reclining onto the couch, experiencing the comfort of civilization again. Helia sits next to you, though seems to be a bit less keen on trying to push the issue of relationship that you've yet to determine exists yet.
Hot Rod sits on the floor, kicking his feet under the table.

Jackie takes her own seat on a plush recliner without kicking out its auxiliary function, seeming to prefer crossing one leg over the other and curling a lock of her red hair with an index finger.
Noatak stands in all of his height, looking down on everyone. Stoic and stern, unwilling to touch very many, if any of Jackie's possessions.

“Okay, so let's, like, talk. Whatchya wanna know first?” Jackie smiles, her green-blue eyes falling on you. If anything, she's got instincts enough to know that you're the leader after Eshe.
Might be your aura of confidence and masculinity... Or she just wants your junk.

You push your brown hair back, for what length has grown and stare at her with your eye and destroyed socket, your sunglasses crumbled since the wraith's sonic attack.

>What's it going to be?

Hear what she has to say. It's either going to be completely fucking retarded, or it's going o be surprisingly Ok.

Either way, using Divination to find someone is the way to go. We have a few options with that; we can either track the chick we awakened at Denny's, the clone mom, or we could do a new batch of awakenings in Vegas and track those guys when they get got.
>>

I don't think we're going to use Jackie's plan because divination a best, but it would be good to head.

“Remind me then,” You let your hair fall back into place, your eye flicking over to the huge injun,” How did Noatak find us? Just seems like he came in at a real opportune time if you know what I mean.”

Noatak inclines his head, staring down at you, black and silver power shimmering through his veins for a moment, “I was watching for your coming while gathering desert grasses to appeal my ancestors.”

“So you were just out there? Alone in the desert? Your ancestors?” You raise your eyebrow with scrutiny. It's not that you distrust this guy but...

“Yes. I have been trying to please them, yet they have not been happy.” He closes his eyes for a moment, “Though it is fortunate that I saw your fire from afar, else you would not be here now in the safety of Miss Leblanc's home.”

You nod, folding your hands together, “Gotta thank you for that... You know, I saw Eshe's spirit but I didn't see her last moments... Was it bad?”

The injun opens his eyes, staring at you with a tinge of sadness, “I'm afraid she died deaf and alone. Those things made sure that she was dead.”

“I see..” You sigh calmly. Well. It's a loss. She was good, pretty, and actually nice to talk to... You're not sure how you feel about it though...

“Total shame that she did. Because of her screwing up, we're like, pretty short on the number of useful bodies.” Jackie holds a hand to her head as she slowly shakes it,” Poor Eshe dying like a dog in the desert...”

You feel...
>[] You're going to miss Eshe, but you're not really affected.

Not really. He's correct. Asher has always measured people in terms of how useful they are. He's never really showed any real signs of kinship with his allies.

Except maybe Hotrod. Which is understandable seeing as how he's been consistently helpful dealing with tons of shit.
>>

>[] You're going to miss Eshe, but you're not really affected.

>>31437350
Everyone's such a whipped dog about shades now, but an Eshe shade would be a way better option than most of the things we summon. All she ever said to us was how it was her responsibility to look out for us, and she wouldn't have these horrible demands like the Wendigo.

>[] You thought that there could've been more between you. Maybe you could summon her?
I believe both of these to be true, but putting them right next to each other isn't right. Asher knows what shades are now.
>>
>>31437535
It's been made overwhelmingly clear that all summons have downsides.

“Hey, fuck you! We don't need to hear shit like that! What the hell is wrong with you?” Hot Rod pounces up, sitting at the edge of his to glare down Jackie. At that moment you notice by the smallest gesture of her finger that she's pointed her index at the kid.

“Like, nothing. Just calling it how I see it. You got a problem with that?” She responds, her eyes locking in on him with an out of context smirk upon her lips.

Hot Rod starts to get up, but you put a hand up in front of him,”Hot Rod, Enough.” You press him back down onto the couch despite his resistance. “We don't like it, but they're right and they're not the ones that killed her.”
You look back to Jackie, “It'd be cool if we didn't talk about this anymore.” You let go of Hot Rod, as he's settled to fuming in place.

Jackie's index finger curls back onto the armrest, the grin never leaving,”Like, totally boring anyway.” She says with that Valley Girl drawl that makes you reflexively scowl.

You fix your face and take a short breath. “So, the reason for us coming out this way is to find the location where they take “Overs” as you called them?”

“Us. Overs are like, what they say when they refer to us. Short for Overhuman, Overman, Overwoman, but those sound like gay superhero names or something, right?”

“Can't say it isn't so. But what's the plan?”

“Alright, look. The plan here is like this-” She points to the three of you: You, Hot Rod, and Helia.
“The three of you- and I pretend to be Overbums and when they come to take us away, we get Noatak here to track us. Once we're captured a Hand of Susej like our own Friend will be able to find the place once we escape and return to a city. Anything that we know- they know, but not like vice-versa.”

“If that's the case then why won't they know when Noatak tracks us?” You ask, staring keenly at the woman. Her personality's come off a bit. She's way more domineering than you expected.

“Noatak's not a follower. At least, he hasn't been baptized yet.”

“Then how can we trust him?”

The injun shrugs,”I saved you, didn't I?” Shaking his head, “These people are an enemy to me, and my spiteful ancestors have directed me to them.”

“Then why won't you be captured too?”

“Because my curse will break the vehicle they take us on.”

Jackie clears her throat,”Alright, like, shut up. Eyes on me.” She points to just above her chest.
“There's like, one issue with this plan. Two if you haven't already fucked it up.”

“Second thing first, have you been seen by those things? Like, have they seen your face?”

“No, we wore Afghans to-”

“Good, next thing,” she points at Helia who's been deaf to the conversation this entire time, following whoever's mouth is moving. “She's got a hole in her. She'll be dead the next time she sleeps if she isn't healed. We'll need to like, stage her getting hurt, or contact one of my family friends to patch that shit up.”

“So why is it an iss-” You try to get out.

“Duh! Because then I'd have to kill them and then we'd be like, all compromised.” She rolls her eyes at you, throwing a hand out in disgust,” Oh em gee Asher, I thought you were the smart one!”

“Shit...” Your eye goes wide, you and Hot Rod looking to Helia whom seems a bit clueless at first, yet quicky realizes that she's the one this is about now.

She lowers her head, a whisper coming out from her lips,”It's about me, isn't it?”
You start to say something, yet nod your head instead. She gets up, standing before you in a sweater too big for her and pulls it up, revealing a cauterized gaping hole as wide six centimeters across skewered right through her ribcage. The flesh is pussed and raw, her cyan power keeping the damage from progressing too far.

“I stayed awake all night... Jackie wrote to me. She's nice, right?”

You assess the damage, and Hot Rod nearly throws up at the sight, excusing himself to the bathroom.

You reach for a moment, but put your hand down,”Can a doctor even do anything about this? Without magic?”

“I'm not really sure honestly.” Jackie shrugs, looking to Helia with what looks like an actual bit of emotion, “Just thought it'd be worth a shot if you wanted to keep her. She's a walking ghost now. She sleeps- she dies.”

“So we've lost two to the military...” You blanch, realizing now the threat that even that mundane weaponry represents. You thought the biggest issue would be other Overs, not...

“If you care about her as she does you, I would suggest taking her out one last time.” Noatak bows his head, eyes closed, “She should have some clue by now that she may not have long.”
>>
You grab Helia's sweater to cover up the damage,”That's enough. Just call the damn doctor. Tell him to make it quick and we'll awaken or off him. That'll do right?”

“Totally, but I'm offing him. No loose ends unless you've got magic that can trap and release someone after a week. I'm like, not good at that.” She's already punched in the number on her phone,” Alright, everyone shut up or get out, I'm making this call.”

You look at Helia for a moment. She looks back to you sadly, but smiles still. “I did good, right?”

Alright, while I write it out.

I have something in mind, but...

/tg/ What is Asher's definition of a date?

If Helia lives through this, she really needs to use something that isn't Ice for armor... I get it, you want to be closer to your glorious husbando, but fuckin hell, girl. Ice don't stop fuckheug bullets as good as rock do.

The hole that's put her on death's door was made by a melee weapon on the mech.

I have no fucking clue. Go do something with her? We have no clue where we are beyond "somewhere near Vegas". And Helia's deaf anyway.

I question how retarded this is, but it might be nice to just hold hands and sit on an ice bench or something. She'd probably like to be able to just sit there not fighting shit or wandering around eating cactus.

But really, it's the most intimate thing that we need to be doing. She needs some hand holding.

We have divination. We can just use that to see the position of one of the people we've already awakened instead of doing this plan Jackie came up with.

You stand up and take Helia by the hand, feeling her cold skin tremble in your grip. She lowers her head, smiling beside herself.

“Hey Jackie, got a number I can reach you by?” You say without looking at the bitchy redhead.

“Bought a couple tracphones last month. It's in the kitchen, second drawer from the left. They all have each other's numbers saved in there. Take the one with your name on it.” Jackie's given up on calling, her fingers firing away rapid texts.

Pocketing the phone into your pants pocket, you head on out with the young woman on death's door...

You find yourself in something of a suburb and start walking with her at your side, eventually finding a bus stop. You ask the driver if he's headed to the strip and he affirms at he'll be nearing another stop if you want to change over.

You reason that it's good enough and get on, still holding Helia's cold hand. The two of you are quiet for the ride. After all, she's deaf. What are you going to say?

After getting off, for the next stop, that's when she starts to talk to you under the colored sky, disregarding whether or not you might be listening.

“You know Asher... I wasn't ever really close to anyone before. People liked me but they never really stood up for me or anything. Even my last boyfriend went for a girl with more backbone.” She grips your hand a bit tighter.
“When you told me to be strong, I was so scared.” She trembles a little, brushing a tear from her face.
“But you were right. Only I had the power to keep myself alive. To keep on moving forward...”
Her grip loosens a bit,”I'm a bit of a masochist though I guess, with my taste in men. Nothing more for it I guess. I just fell in love with you. Not even sure why.”
>>
You feel her looking to you and you turn your head to see her hazel eyes looking back into yours.
At eye contact, she looks away again,”I just... Wanted to say that. I still can't hear though, sorry I'm just kind of talking like this... I can't even really hear myself.”

Geeze. Why she gotta say shit like that. Why does it need to be like that...

You find a little park that's not too far from a busier part of the city and take a seat with Helia, the two of you looking on at the people. Never once does she let go of your hand. As cold as it is, you respect the fact that she's saved your life and don't tell her to let go. Especially since this is the only thing that she really might want.

You take a deep breath, taking in the world around you. There are some trees here planted artificially, resting within their planters amidst the urban concrete.

Some people walk through this midday, enjoying themselves in each their own way in this little relatively peaceful oasis of the strip. You see some people taking their dogs for a walk, most are tiny or medium-sized, trotting along at their owner's pace.
A painter stands with an easel, painting out flowers set in planter to decorate these modest grounds. A young woman? Or man? You can't quite tell from here with their beret and a large smock that obscures their shape. One thing is certain, they are clearly focused upon their craft. Though they seem to have a second easel and a smaller pad for drawing or painting a portrait of someone.

And regarding what's lacking, while the sun is too high in the sky for most unsavories, you can make out the little temporary encampments of at least a couple homeless among the bushes of the large park. One older lady sitting with a sign that says,
“Lost home to bank. Please spare some change.”

You see another bum wearing a sign over his neck that says,”The end is nigh. We're at the end of time.”
Heh, if only he knew.

You feel water all around you between the fountain and the sprinklers that much keep all these plants hydrated. It makes you feel empowered. Not that you aren't always feeling that.
>>
You and Helia sit there for a while. She hasn't said much since she last spoke. Perhaps she doesn't quite have much else to say?

You get up with Helia attached and point her to the painter. The two of you exchange looks and she smiles.

The two of you ride on up to the busy painter to hear them mumble,” No, the poppies need to pop more with red... A splash of yellow...” Even their voice makes it hard to tell...
You look on at the collection of flowers to see that the poppies are absent, the painter's adding them in as an after thought with everything else painted.

The canvas bears many splashes of color, many in the shape of flowers and many contrasting and complimenting colors coming together to create a piece that's absolutely offensive in how colorful it is.
The focused painter ignores you for the most part until you tap them upon the shoulder, causing them to spin around, just about whipping paint across your face.

You touch your cheek and draw it away to see a splash of red oils staining your fingers.

“Ah, I am sorry monsieur, I did not see you there!” The painter gasps with surprise, quickly putting down their brush and pallet to produce a handkerchief. “Oh, I am so sorry. So sorry.” They dab your face even against your flinches before wiping away the red from your hand,”It will wash out with time. From this cloth...” They put it back into a little hamper from where they pulled it from,”Will not.”

“It's ah, fine. Thanks, thank you.” You wipe your face again to check for any missed paint. “Hey look, could you do something like a sketch of the two of us?”
>>
The painter looks between the two of you before realizing that they've got business. “Oh, yes! Yes Monsieur and Mademoiselle. Just a sketch, yes? That'll be a total of fifty dollars. One hundred if you'd like it on the easel and we'll negotiate the price if you'd like to commission it in oil.” The painter folds their hands together, awaiting your decision, fairly excited by the prospect.
“Though the oil will take time to set.”

>[] Get the sketch done. Doesn't need to be big.

We could always try Divining their location later on. Asking for somewhere to reach them later seems kinda odd if we don't ask for the oil.

Ask about what they love about drawing/painting. If they answer anything along the lines of "creating things" or "seeing your vision come to life", then I really want to awaken this guy/gal.

This might be a bit weird to just ask out of the blue, but we could try to start asking about their dreams / if they feel fulfilled / etc and try planting the seeds of desire for something more. They seemed awfully happy to be getting some work here. I'm betting that they would leap at the chance to into magic.

That they could be doing so much better than painting on the street for the parkgoers and that we could help them realize their potential. Firm, reassuring handshake and try to set up a meeting later, blah blah "My name is Asher, I help people be all that they can be."

I dislike her. If she's not a total chode in a fight, then I'll dislike her less. She's another glasscannon, though, so it's not like she's going to meatshield for us. But the whole "RIP AND TEAR WITH MAGIC VACUUM DESTRUCTION" makes me hopeful that we can just nuke down any threat fast.

I really want to see what happens if we go for a combo attack with her. Have her compress a fucking -ton- of air into a tiny spot and then put as much juice into Pyromancy as we can to detonate the thing.

Veins have a 'vulnerability' to Nerve magic, so does that mean that modifying Helia with Alchemy would be easier than modding the other members of our group? I remember that Violet had a way easier time mind controlling that vein/animist girl, so it seems like it would.

You agree on a full sketch with the easel for a roll-up poster that you could frame or put on a wall. You write out a text on the cell phone and pass it to Helia, letting her know what the two of you are going to get.
She seems to get a kick out of that, smiling, though a bit sadly. She hands the phone back.
“You sure? You don't really have to do this for me...”

“Yeah. I want to. I'll find a safe place to keep it.”

Her eyes tear up, and she brushes them away, handing the phone back to you,”My mouth... Are the scars visible?” the message reads.
“No. You look good.” You give the phone back to her, and hold her hand as the two of you sit on a bench in front of the fountain after The Painter sets up.

“Alright Monsieur et Mademoiselle. By chance, are you a couple?” They ask as they get to work with a pencil, scratching out the first outlines. “Oh, and nothing silly, yes? I can do cartoons as well.”

“Something like that... Nothing silly. I'd like it to look good.”

“Ooo lala. How long have you been together? That is, if you do not mind me asking.”

“About a month now. This is for our anniversary.” You lie without a beat. Doesn't much matter anyway.
“You make your living off of this?”

“I try to.” Focused work from the other side of the easel. “It's not easy, and few people enjoy work such as this. Most of mine is well... Average at best from what the directors say.” The Artist seems to wane a little on that note, losing a bit of heart.

“Your poppies earlier were pretty nice. You just thought to add those in?” You read a message from Helia as she passes the phone back.
>>
“She's pretty isn't see?”

“Think it's a guy,” You pass back.
She giggles, though you don't really get it. You were serious.

“Ah, you two are texting? It is no trouble if you wish to talk.” The painter admits as they eye you for what detail to put in next.

“Oh, she's deaf and I don't know sign language.” You admit, chuckling a bit awkwardly to play up the act.

“Oh...” The Painter stops. “Technology... Ah, it is magnefique. I have heard of how texting is a blessing to the hearing impaired... Oh, excuse-moi.”

“Doesn't bother me at all.” You say with a shrug,” Hey, I never really caught your name.”

“Ah, my name is not important Monsieur. It would just bother you to hear it.”

“Not at all, I'd like to know who my artist is so that I can recommend them.” You play it off, looking over the painter top to bottom.

Yeah-no. You still aren't sure about the actual gender.
In any case, they do look pretty cute. Either a man with feminine features or a woman with a bit stronger features. The voice is also pretty neutral with further obfuscation due to that frenchie accent.

“My name is Camille Bellamy.” The Painter steps around the easel and bows before you a little. “And I'd appreciate any recommendations.” She seems to brighten up at that point.

You cut the dialogue for a bit, considering the prospect of this one becoming the follower that Lucifer wanted you to get. Helia's been one for a different reason and before the fact. No challenge there, but this would be a test of your ability to sweet talk another... girl? You swear you've heard of men named Camille before.

Ugh.

You can't much tell what this person “is,” so you stop fretting about it, deciding that it's a she.

You move your head a little, to see Camille from around the easel,”So, you ever wish you could paint something into reality?”

Her brow furrows a bit at that,” Monsieur, that is such an odd question. Why would you think that?”

“Saw you putting a poppy in that painting of flowers earlier. Looked nice. There should be poppies in those planters.”

Camille seems to think on it for a moment, pausing,”Well, you have caught me. I thought poppies would look nice there monsieur, and so I painted them. That's what is so nice about art. You can create something that isn't there.”

You ease at that. Exactly the kind of words that you wanted to hear. You'll have to get this one in private later.

[Summoner, this one shall fill my belly?] Donner growls into the back of your head, sending goosebumps prickling across your arms.
(No. Not until or unless they fail. She's under protection.)
[As you say summoner.]

Camille eventually finishes the sketch, coming out rather nice overall, though you see that she chose to have your hair fall over your missing eye.

“I... Wasn't sure how to draw such a thing monsieur...Ah, I should have asked, I am sorry”

It shows you with a stoic yet slightly gentle smile with detailing into your jacket. Helia's done with her face to the side, eyes glued onto you.

It's pretty good overall, nothing to complain about. “Eye thing doesn't bother me. It's fine.”

“Ah.. Hm. Right Monsieur. If I may ask, how did it happen?” An innocent question, though a loaded one.

“Got into an accident. Not quite as lucky as I could have been. “ You laugh it off and offer a hand for a handshake.
“Name's Asher. Nice to meet you.”

Camille extends her hand for the gesture, her hands soft yet calloused in spots from holding pencils and brushes. A delicate, feminine hand.
>>
“I'll see you again, thank you.” You pass a hundred dollar bill along with a twenty for a tip.

“Oh Monsieur! I cannot!” She objects, yet she's met with a dismissing wave as you walk off with the work.

“Don't worry about it. You deserve some windfall.” After all, you're going to be coming for one Camille Bellamy when you get a chance. Things to do here after all.

As you walk off, you notice that Helia's hand has loosened in your grip even as you carry the rolled up sketch under a pit. You receive the phone and see her message.
“You liked her, didn't you?”

You tap out a message,”She's a good target. I can make a good mage out of her.”

“Oh...” She says aloud, looking away a moment,”When I'm gone... Umm. Don't forget about me, okay?”

You grimace at that request. You're not sure if that's a promise you can keep but you type it out on the phone.
“I won't ever forget about you Helia.”

She lets go of your hand and throws her arms around you on your way back to Jackie's.

That's when the phone rings and you take it from her to answer, “Yes?”

“Like, the doc's here with his stuff. Hurry back.”

“Alright, will do.”

“And reply to my fucking texts asshole!”

You hang up, not willing to listen to her for an extended period this time around.

You decide to leave Camille for later. She'll be a good test for pyromancy's divination in any case.

You and Helia make it back, almost getting lost and texting Jackie for her address, receiving the most broken up text you've seen in a long time.
Goddamnit, she's really playing this shit up, isn't she?

When you finally arrive, you see a man in a hawaiian shirt and sandals sitting on the couch drinking scotch with Jackie and Noatak, no Hot Rod in sight. Now that you think of it, you never told him where you went.

“Oh em gee! It's like our friends! Doctor Eustene, they're like the ones I told you about!” Jackie laughs, her cheeks a little flushed from her drink. She hasn't changed outfits at all since this morning.

The man gets up, a bit wobbly on his feet as he looks you up and down,”Ah, I could prolly get you a glass eye, that all you need ?” He says, scratching gray fuzz on the underside of his chin, his hair thick luscious locks of slicked back dark-gray hair. A man aging well into his older age.

“Much as I'd appreciate that, your patient is this one, right here.” You pat Helia's shoulder, and glare for a moment at Jackie,”Doctor Eustene, sure you should be drunk with such an operation?”

“Heh. I'm sure I shouldn't. But then I shouldn't be doing a housecall like this.” The man laughs.

“Trussst me! Like, Doctor Eustene is WAY better when he's drunk!”

Noatak says nothing.
>>
Without much of a choice, you submit Helia for surgery with tools produced from a kit from the man's car. After washing his hands, and gloving up, he starts with examining Helia on the kitchen table after putting a sheet on it.
“Time for some malpractice.” The Doctor chuckles, exposing Helia's injured ribs, the pock marks of her bullet wounds just as exposed. “What in God's name...”

“That's unwise Doc.” You say to yourself, recalling Asherah's particular habit.

The doctor stares at the magically stabilized wound in awe. “How is this woman still alive?”

Jackie saunters up to the doctor,”And with that, I need to put you in a difficult spot, Eugene. She's living right now through magic,”and places a gun to the head of Docter Eustene, who shivers at the cold metal. “This girl's like, not got a long time left. Since you're totally a friend to my parents, may their souls be reborn someday, I'll give you a chance- You need to learn some fucking magic or I'll be shooting your nuts off.”
She takes the gun, and shoves it down the man's pants in one motion, staring him deeply in the eye, inches from his face.
“They'll be last, knees first. Get started.” Her nearly predatory eyes lock with the man's and you can see him just about shit his pants from fear as she slowly and deliberately removes the gun, tracing it up his body, barrel pointed in at an angle.
>>
>>31443904
I have a feeling she's not as good at this Awakening shit as Asher is..
>>
“You've just lost control of the situation... I know what's happened to you too. You wouldn't be doing this if you hadn't already lost your license. After all, I'm still paying for your time.
If you want your life back and your precious nads in tact, you'd better do your very well best. You've got half an hour before you get the first piece of lead.”

Jackie backs off after the threat and plops herself back into her chair, staring at the man like a tiger watching her prey. It's almost scary... And a bit hot.
God, she'd be fucking awesome if she just dropped that Valley Girl shit altogether.

“What are you looking at, dumbass?” She doesn't take her eyes off the doctor as she talks to you. “You've got Ice magic at least, right?I got that much from your name, seal the doors.”

She points the gun back at the doc again,”Oh, and if she dies I'm blowing your fucking head off like that.”

“H-how d-do I o-operate while she's.-”

“She needs to stay awake. Keep talking and I'll take a toe. Don't worry about blood flow. Nothing in your M.D. prepared you for a patient as stable as this.”

You turn the water on, letting it flow as you freeze over the doors, and the windows that've been drawn closed. The doctor stares on with incredible disbelief in what he's seeing. You're getting Jackie's angle already... This is all to shock him. Make him a healer. At least, hopefully.

“Eustene,” You say,”If you awaken to magic, you'll find every aspect of your life improved. Otherwise, you'll die simply and like a dog. Alone and afraid. Don't get me wrong.” You take a seat in a chair on the other side of him,”We're doing this for you. We can't stand to see you destroy yourself like this.” You smile almost mockingly, this is the type of situation that you love.

Definitely not while he's working, and probably not at all, since Jackie said she wanted to take the lead on this.

I hope she'd do it for something less than blowing the dam, but I'm willing to make that into an obligation in exchange.

>>31444094
Agreed.
>>
>>31444078
Helia's already managing what bloodflow is necessary.
No anesthesia after all. She can't sleep.
The most major problem is that the wound was cauterized by the weapon that did this.
That's why Jackie's escalated this into an awakening.
>>
>>31443967
>[x] (Other)
Maybe some last minute verbal harassment or illusions in the train of thought that >>31444037 has, really impress upon him the importance of getting it the fuck together.

>[x] Ask Asherah for aid in case this breaks down.(Sleep/Meditate)
I'm wary of this. This has the potential to put us dependent on Asherah instead of the other way around. But we were already planning to blow the dam anyway, so ehhh....

>>31444078
If we provide any relief from his situation through assistance, it would hinder the chances of him awakening.

>>31444121
>The most major problem is that the wound was cauterized by the weapon that did this.
I'm having a bit of trouble visualizing the wound. I know it doesn't really matter, probably, the important thing is that it's a big wound and Asher don't know shit about it; but I would still like to get my mind around it.
>>
>>31444195
>I'm having a bit of trouble visualizing the wound.

Aggravated and cauterized damage that went right through at least a lung based on the location.

The thing that did it was at least 6 centimeters wide and burned as it impaled her. She has a hole going all the way through her.
>>
You forgo pestering the man with your own brands of torture as he gets to work without another sound at the insistence of Jackie. Watching him proves to be trifling as he seems to at time struggle in how to even understand the wound as it is. How do you heal impalement after all?

Closing your eye you let youself drift off into a meditative sleep.

When you awaken into the other world, you can see Donner staring at the doctor from afar.
“What are you doing?”

“Feeling regret.” The wendigo states in his most sincere voice, “I'd have liked to whisper to him, yet you've set it in my contract, I'm not to interfere...”
Donner's evil gaze sets itself upon you,” You seek one of the old ones yes?”

“Asherah.”

“She waits. She knows.”

Great, you roll your astral shoulders and take a step forward to pass into the Goddess's space. The same sunset beach with a wild island inland. Asherah stands upon the tides preaching to a couple of her followers, filling their heads with her scripture.

“I need to talk Asherah,” You step forward, interrupting the sermon, much to the Goddess's dismay.

“Indeed, though you should be more polite Asher. You strain what relationship we have as I know not what you are.”

“Think of me as pet or prophet as you will- I have a request.” You state plainly, getting right down to business.

Asherah dismisses her servants with a wave before nodding to you,”Your woman is hurt?”

“Not my woman, but I don't want her dead.”

“So you ask me to heal her.”

“However it needs to be done.”

Asherah seems to consider this for a few moments,” I have a request then.”
You expected this as you stare into the Goddess's wavepool eyes.

Hrm, I think the idea was to ask Asherah to heal Helia if Eustene fails, we wouldn't want to interrupt his trial after all. I think owing her a duty for putting her on deck is reasonable, but if we don't need the healing, then having a favor open would sure be nice.
>>
Once we get alchemy, we won't have to worry about begging Asherah for heals no more. That will be nice.

>Summon lung thoughtform
>Use Helia's damaged lung as a medium so it pops into place already attached more or less

>>31445038
You know that her body probably wouldn't accept foreign flesh right?
Also Asher would need to know the exact way a lung works.
>>
>>31446135
Dran's already confirmed it would work with some minor kinks at Adept rank Alchemy and that the kinks would go away at Expert. And that's for implanting organs/parts with magical properties, not just mundane patch jobs.
>>
>>31446240
which thread was that?
>>
>>31446272
https://archive.foolz.us/tg/thread/31169525/#31182128 outlines the known summoning advancement with Expert being the point where "Asher gets his magic eye and redundant organ systems" and Dran replies to that saying it's correct.

There's also discussion about it dispersed a bit in the threads leading up to this one in the QTGs where the plan to mix summoning and alchemy to alter peoples' bodies gets brought up and Dran says it's doable. If you want to dig for those, go for it. I don't really want to and would rather just ask Dran when he gets back if you don't believe me still.

I think she's slowly getting better. Kind of.

It seems like it could go either way with her right now; either she'll stay boring and annoying and wind up like Fara, or she'll git gud at both magic and not-being-a-lump and we'll not hate her anymore.
>>
>>31447918
People seem really willing to let Helia go. She's pretty much the only person who is unconditionally loyal to us. Yeah, she's weaker than us and Eshe, but she's at least on par with Hot Rod. Plus, she doesn't seem to give a shit that we're a cruel manipulative bastard. You don't have to like her, but there's no reason to just throw away a god tool.

I think the best way to get the painter to awaken is to start summoning monsters around her loosely based on whatever they're painting. Hopefully the resulting mindbreak would give us a schizo summoner.

Just throwing this out there, probably a really horrible idea that would result in tons of people trying to kill us, but we could totally make swarms of rapist thoughtforms and use them for Awakenings. It would probably be way more effective than mutilation for awakening the greatest number of people while keeping the actual fatality down low. But really, though, I can't see most of them doing anything but Path of Blooding it up.

I don't think we have the power for that.
And I'd prefer to call them the booty legionnaires.
>>
>>31449662
We can reduce overall power costs on multiple 'individuals' by making it a single hivemind summon. Fleeces would just be average prison niggas for the most part in terms of ability. Nothing overtly magic would make them cheaper, probably.

Probably still a Expert-Master level to do that without getting raped to death ourself.
>>

He obviously wasn't freaking out or angry about the memory of what happened. He makes it really clear when he hates something.
>>
>>31449731
>Implying we could survive the booty legion.
>>
What happens if we kill a summoner and summon their shade? Recursive summoning?
>>
>>31450033
kind of doubt it. Thoughtforms would be based on their memories, which are damaged or just what you remember, and I don't think a Mythos' contract would extend to a shade since it isn't really their spirit or anything. Just like with any other summon's abilities, we can get as much as we can recreate, is my guess.
>>
>>31450116
Shades are like a mythos-thoughtform hybrid. They retain some abilities they had in life, even if they're abilities Asher doesn't himself have.

I think that a the shade of a summoner would very likely be able to make their own thoughtforms.

>Just like with any other summon's abilities, we can get as much as we can recreate, is my guess.
There was some talk about that restriction getting lifted at Expert rank, which would let us create summons with spells we don't have but restricted to Novice-tier power.
