We began our story as Loli entered the Zone, slipping through the Cordon by crawling through miles of sewer underneath one of the garrison buildings. However, before she could make a break for freedom, she was caught by a picket and taken back to the garrison.
Some members of the garrison refused to believe a little girl could possibly have made it past the Cordon into the Zone, so she can't be human. The situation was exacerbated by Loli's insistence on receiving the chocolate she was promised. One thing lead to another, and the entire garrison ended up wiping itself out in a chaotic mess of friendly fire. Loli skipped away into the Zone.

A short while later, she came across a huge, angry beast of a mutant dog barring the road. She found the thing so adorable that she instantly befriended it. Doggy has been her staunchest of allies to this day.

Together, they head up the road and come across some form of newbie training camp. One of the guards is surprised by her arrival and accidentally blows his own face off. Doggy feasts on his flesh. She meets some new people, then passes on, heading further north.

After heading off down the road deeper into the Zone, she decides it's time to forage for supplies and starts searching the immediate area. She finds a small green knapsack poorly hidden under a tree and tries to grab it. However, it's booby trapped and knocks her out long enough for the trap setters to capture her. Doggy disappears.

Waking up in captivity, she decides she doesn't like this situation and quickly breaks free, murdering everyone in the room and those who come to help. Before she can attempt to murder everyone in the entire building, however, Doggy arrives and makes short work of them for you. You thank him and loot the dead before finding somewhere to settle down for the night.

Ha. I missed some. I actually wrote that entire thing in first person, then decided to edit it all into third afterward.

In the morning, the girl and her dog continued their travels north and entered a red forest. Not long later, she's held at gunpoint by a group of men she didn't even see creeping up on her from the trees. Instead of fearing the men, she noticed some mushrooms on the side of the path and decided to feast on them. The men revealed themselves to actually be friendly, and Loli's shroom trip began.
One mildly uncomfortable trip later, the group brought her to an anomaly field where they needed her help to find the valuable artifacts hidden inside. Loli showed amazing skill and intuition, finding the artifact in record time. Before the team could celebrate, however, something attacked the sentry.

The mutant attack slaughtered the entire team bar the silent one who was looking after Loli, Ice, before she could drive it off. When he said it was time to leave, Loli opted to stay behind to loot the dead. The mutant returned and almost claimed her life before an unknown man arrived to save her.

The next few days were spent in his hut, recovering from the wounds. Once recovered, the man gives directions to the bar where Ice was supposedly headed. She found civilization soon enough and quickly set about trading for more useful gear. She did not have the money to trade, and so the idea of gaining fame and money in the arena was suggested to her.

Loli sought out the arena, a place where men fight to the death for money, and entered as a contestant. Her foe fell quickly before her brutality, and she returned to the trader with the required money. Once done, she began asking after Ice and was directed to an abandoned suburb outside the outpost. There, she was ambushed by a specialist team and bundled into a waiting helicopter. The helicopter didn't get far before being knocked out of the air by a Blowout. Loli freed herself in the aftermath of the crash and butchered the survivors.
Then the Monolith assaulted her mind.
>>
>>31445523
After several months under Monolith mind control, Loli is brought back to her senses in a room full of men who apparently underwent a similar experience. She wasted no time in escaping the place, only to be attacked and mugged by the first man she met. When she followed him to ask for her things back, he quickly acquiesced, addressing her with a strange nickname. In the distance, she could see an interesting looking bunker, so she made her way to it.

The guards there also addressed her by the strange nickname, and quickly started shooting at her. She managed to avoid the gunfire long enough to enter the bunker, where a friendly scientist offered her protection if she could help with his experiments. She refused, and attempted to leave only to be shot down by the guards on her way out. They left her for dead outside the barricades, but she managed to crawl away to safety.

The tunnel network she crawled to turns out to not be so safe, and she is forced to fight her way through it, only to eventually come out the other side almost right back where she started, overlooking the bunker. She gave up on the day and found a cardboard box to sleep in.

A few passing Stalkers found her so adorable in this state that they picked the box up and carried it with them on their return back to their base. She woke up and freaked out, attacking the one holding her. After being given a moment to calm down, however, she found them friendly and forgiving, and chose to accompany them to their base, Skadovsk.

The folk at Skadovsk showed little to no interest in her. The local doctor tended to her wounds and the barkeep offered her a free meal. In return, Loli offered to help with some tasks that they needed doing. The first errand went without a hitch, and she even met a new friend: a giant mutant boar named Fluffy. Upon returning to Skadovsk, Loli noticed Ice sitting in the corner.

That would've been boring. The entire quest (almost) is from Loli's perspective. Interesting would be something like having a recap that's like an internal summary in Vasa's mind of "this is exactly how insane that little freak is and why am I still stuck with her. Fuck my life"

>>31445622
But PERSPECTIVE SWITCH and RTS thread was some of the most fun I've had in this quest.
>>
>>31445609
Ice revealed that he knew the location of Doggy, and Loli immediately set out to try to find her best friend. It didn't take long to find him being attacked by mercenaries, so she helped him murder them all, then walked him back to Skadovsk for medical help.
The Doc insisted real payment for the service, and so she once again offered her services in return. A simple job to trade for some extra medical supplies. However, the trade went badly wrong when her team was ambushed and slaughtered. She managed to counter attack and butcher almost the entire ambush force but was overcome at the last, and bailed out by two new characters.

They are revealed to be a pair of young girls also struggling to survive in the Zone. They offered their assistance to Loli, and together the three of them managed to press on to the trade point and recover the medical supplies from the rest of the ambushing force. One of the two captives survived, and names himself Viktor. He took the news back to Skadovsk that Loli is being a very helpful little girl to the Stalkers.

Loli spent some time getting to know the girls, before heading back to Skadovsk to get a change of clothes for the ones ruined during the ambush. Whilst there, she gained a lead on who set up the ambush on her and chose to follow it with a man named Sergei, Sultan's bodyguard and rather questionable character.

When Loli meet up with the two girls again, she received a tip-off from Beard that a man was out hunting for her for revenge. The girls chose to set up an ambush for him, which turned out to be a trap to counter-ambush them. A short fight later, and the mad dog Kiyiya is introduced. Kris has a breakdown in the middle of the fight, and Kiyiya beat Loli down in a knife fight but opted to flee when Vasa almost got a shot against him.

Kris revealed she had a history with Kiyiya, and Loli promised to kill him.

I was actually sort-of erring on not doing one just now, just playing with the idea. Then a guy in the hugbox mentioned he was considering archive-binging LSQ. Well, that's excuse enough for me.
>>
>>31445675
In the morning, Loli decided to make a chocolatey breakfast for her new friends, which Vasa thoroughly enjoyed. Doggy appeared and lead Loli to a nearby sawmill where something important was to be found.
A few switches of perspective later, the sawmill was secured and Loli revealed a large stash of weapons to the girls.

Thanks to the injury Kris sustained in the clearing, Vasa was convinced to show themselves in Skadovsk to get Doc to treat her. It didn't go terribly, and they even managed to recruit Sergei to the team. Vasa did not approve.

Kris got a tip-off that Vasa's dad was heading further north, and the girls scrambled to chase after him. However, the team got lost in a spacial anomaly field. After some time, they finally made their way out when Kris compared the field to a map of the London Underground.

They exited the anomaly field outside the Jupiter plant, before being attacked by a UAV. They took cover in a railway maintenance tunnel, where Loli befriended another adorable mutant, Nibbler.

After this, they headed for the local haven, Yanov Station. On the way, they were once again ambushed by Kiyiya. Loli lost track of Nibbler and Doggy in the fight before facing off with Kiyiya again. After a little tussle, she ran from him.

Once safely at the station, the group took a few days to rest and recuperate, during which Vasa trained Loli hard in the ways of survival via several games of Hide and Seek. It went pretty well.

Then the team got a lead on where Kiyiya's base was. A huge force of united stalkers, Duty and Freedom fighters were assembled to take him down. After a long and brutal battle, he was finally cornered and killed by Loli.
>>
>>31445747
With everyone safely back at Yanov Station, the team began to settle down ready for some well-earned rest when the door to the station was blown open. Fully armed and armored Duty troops stood ready to attack, supported by a tank of all things. The Duty commander demanded Loli's surrender, to face a trial on the charges of "crimes against humanity, and of conspiring with the Zone". Loli outright refused, and the ensuing firefight leveled the station along with most of its occupants. Sergei was killed, Vasa and Ice were critically wounded.

Loli decided to go for help, seeking assistance from the nearby Scientist bunker. Help was offered without hesitation, so long as Loli would in turn help them with certain errands. Upon returning to the station with help, Loli found that her friends, and the tank, were gone.
At this time, help also arrived from Skadovsk.

The assembled group chose to follow the tank tracks away from the station to where they split from the boot tracks. The scientist's field team followed the tracks while Loli and the Skadovsk team followed the prints. The prints led to a Freedom base, where Freedom were looking after her friends. As she was meeting with the Freedom commander to thank him for helping her friends, Loli received a call from the field team, who told her that the tank was now on its way to the Freedom base to wipe them out.

Loli came up with a cunning plan, executed by Kris, to mock up the effects of an imminent Blowout. Against all likelihood, it succeeded, and the Duty fighters left the tank vulnerable to Loli, who captured it and turned it against its previous owners. The team then accompanied a Freedom strike force to instead wipe Duty from the face of the Zone. The battle went extremely well, and the base was scoured of Duty troops.
Loki, the Freedom commander, thanked Loli for the help and offered a pact of friendship between Freedom and her friends.
Loli took the tank and her friends, and drove onwards.

>AND NOW OUR ADVENTURE CONTINUES

Viktor brings the death machine to a halt outside the ruin of Yanov station. Inside, you can see a fox nibbling at the face of one of the fallen fighters. The place seems to have been scoured of most of its loot, though you can see a few weapons and rucksacks still lying about the place. No-one has even bothered to try to give the men any form of burial. You and Viktor hop out of your seats and drop down to the floor, stepping over the threshold into the ruin. Ice slides clumsily off the tank after you, while Kris and Vasa remain sat awkwardly on the tank. Vasa stares into the distance, while Kris furtively glances at her every so often.

"Ugh, this is a smell I'll never get used to," Viktor complains as the wind passes through the ruin, blowing the stench of rotting flesh into your faces. You struggle against the compulsion to vomit, barely keeping the bile in your throat contained.

You grab a shovel from the kit strapped to the side of the tank, and begins digging into the soft earth a little ways from the station. Ice wanders over to your side.

"Uh, Loli? What- what are you doing?"

"Digging a grave. We should bury them. That's what you're supposed to do with the dead, right?"

"Well yeah, but-" Ice catches himself. "You know how long it'd take? Could take us all week." He sounds resigned, but doesn't make any effort to either help or stop you. You keep digging.
He shrugs, heading inside to help Viktor loot whatever's left.

After a few more minutes of exhausting work, Vasa slides herself down from the tank and crosses to you with a second shovel. She shoves it deep into the earth. "Wha- Vasa? But, your arm..?"

"Sergei deserves this much," she grumbles at you, before heaving the shovel out. You see her wince as her shoulder takes the weight.

Sergei gets one because he's our friend. We don't know the others, but there's a good chance the ones who did are lying in there too, so we should at least do something if we have the freedom to do so.

"Vasa, stop! You're going to hurt your arm again! I'll do it, don't worry." You drop your shovel and try to stop her from digging. She growls, and pushes the shovel deep in again, wincing as she heaves the load up. Kris appears at her side, and gently tries to take the shovel from her hands.

"Please, Vass, just rest. For me?" Kris places a hand on Vasa's cheek, turning her face to look into her eyes.

Vasa snorts, letting go of the shovel and stomping her way back to the tank. Kris smiles meekly at you, before taking the shovel and taking Vasa's place, digging beside you.

You spend the rest of the day digging. Just digging. By lunchtime, you've dug a hole deep and long enough to be called a grave, and Viktor and Ice gently lower Sergei's pale corpse into the earth.

Viktor managed to recover the RPK you'd given him and left it by the tank.

You take a short lunch of tinned food, shared between you and Kris. The rest of the day until dusk is spent digging a huge, shallow pit to fit the others in. You receive a call from the scientists, asking if you have the time to help them out, but you blow them off to continue working. Eventually, the dark is setting in and you have to abandon the work. It's enough to bury about two thirds of the bodies, so Ice and Viktor once more offer their strength to shift the dead Stalkers into the pit. There's barely enough room to fit the Freedom bodies, but by this point you're too tired to care any more. The rest are stuffed together however they'll fit, and a scattering of soil thrown on top. You'll have to finish the burial tomorrow morning.

You decide to split up for the night, leaving Viktor and Ice to watch the tank while the girls head for the basement. Viktor makes himself comfortable in the driver's seat while Ice curses loudly as he tries to find some comfortable way to sit in the turret. Even with two seat open to him, his average-sized build is too large to fit inside the tank.

Thankfully, most of the rotting flesh smell is diminished in the lower floor, but the stench is still there just strong enough to keep the bile scratching the back of your throat. You settle in to one of the two sleeping bags, Vasa taking the other while Kris offers to take first watch. You drift off to sleep quickly, dreams filled pleasntly with copious amounts of chocolate.

A few hours later, you're woken by a gentle shaking, a hand gripping your shoulder. You open your eyes to find Vasa leaning in close to you. "Your watch," she whispers in your ear.
You pull yourself quietly out of the sleeping bag and offer it to her. She takes it, moving to the other side of the room away from Kris's sleeping form beside you.

Loki the freedom boss said he'd take care of us in regards to keeping it running/fuel/parts/ammo in return for helping him out if he ever needs a tank to save freedom, so we're good for that, and besides, you don't need that much maintenance just doing basic traveling and road march stuff, just making sure the tracks are tensioned properly, and Viktor, who knows how to drive it, should know that.

Though I wonder if the autoloader is still broken or whether that got fixed after we won the Duty base.

You slide yourself down the wall to sit beside her as she pulls herself into the bag. "Vasa-neechan? It's later now. What's wrong?"

Vasa sighs, rolling over the bag to look up at you. "You're really gonna push this?" She keeps her voice low enough to not carry across the room to Kris. You nod your response. "Look, it's really not anything important."

"If it wasn't important, you wouldn't be upset."

"I'm not upse-"

"Yes you are. Please, just tell me what's wrong." She rolls over again, staring at the wall beside your feet.

"Alright fine. Remember the promise I made you? About Kris?"

You nod slowly. "About your feelings?"

Is a good idea, but we should give her a bit, and wake up Kris and give her a bit, and then tell them both that they can have the rest when they stop keeping secrets and be good to each other

We ran inventory recently. We have 3x bars of Galaxy (apparently Loli's favorite, probably Kaleun's too, never heard of it personally) and nothing else in the chocolate department. We also have no money to buy more, but I guess we can always sell something.
>>
>>31447175
I'm there was some left lying around after the fight at the station, what with all the stalkers and Hawaiian's stores, it shouldnt be too hard to scrounge up some chocolate, even if its that Ukrainian stuff, Loli is master chocolate chef and can fix it with a stove and some basic ingredients

and vodka

You ask the pressing question, "are they planning on getting married?"

She sits upright in the bag, fixing you with a confused stare. "What? No. Why would they-"

"So nothing's changed then, right? Kris doesn't know you love her and you still have a promise to keep. So you need to hurry up and tell her." You point out the logical summary. "It'll only get worse if you leave it now, right?"

The stare turns thoughtful as she regards you. After a long minute, her gaze softens, she reaches across to ruffle your hair. A small smile tugs at her lips. "You're alright, when you're not trying to murder everything." You grin, pulling her into a tight hug.

"Okay then, let's sort this out now!" You grab her hand and pull her out of the sleeping bag.

"Eh? Lo- wha- n-" You drag her across the room to Kris, then quickly shake Kris awake.

"Kris-neechan, wake up! Vasa has something important to say!"

Kris rolls quickly into an action pose before realizing what you'd said. "Eh... oh. Okay." She sits herself down again as you sit Vasa across from her. Reaching into your bag, you produce one of your three remaining chocolate bars, breaking it in half, then in half again. You give a piece each to the two girls, before giving your decree.

"Now, you two can have the rest if and only if you stop keeping secrets and be nice to each other! And no-one leaves this room until Vasa fulfills her promise!" You about-face and march to the stairs to wait out the resolution.

You take a few steps up the stairs before stopping, pressing yourself against the wall and slipping back down so as to listen in on your friends. You silently pray to whatever entity may exist up there that Vasa has the courage to go through with this now.

------------------------

"So, what is it you wanted to tell me?" Kris asks, intrigued.

"I- I..."

"Hee. Vass, you're cheeks are bright red. It's something embarrassing?"

A deep breath, and she finally says it. "I love you."

A pause. A long one. "Yeah, I know. I'm... sorry Vass, there's not really much else to say."

"I figured as much," Vasa replies, downcast.

Kris leans forward, voice lowered to a whisper. "How many steps did you hear?"

"Only three," Vasa responds, equally quiet.

Kris grins. "Alright. We'll talk more when she's not eavesdropping, yeah?" Vasa nods enthusiastically.

------------------------

The two finish talking, an awkward silence filling the dark room. Well, that could've gone a lot better. You don't really know what else you expected, but at least Vasa isn't trying to get as far as she can from Kris now. Instead, the two of them sit quietly together, nibbling on their chocolate.

You walk back into the room to hand the chocolate to your friends, "well done. Now remember to play nice from now on!" Kris beaming at you while Vasa sullenly nods her acknowledgment. With that, you leave the two of them to their feast and head back up the stairs into the main room. Once more you switch to breathing shallow breaths through you mouth to keep from having to smell the noxious scent.

You decide to see if there's any chocolate left in Hawaiian's stores and hop over the counter to check. Turns out there is, and you take a few Flakes as well as a Kagi bar.

You're standing up to head back when you notice the silhouette looming in the door frame. The thing takes up almost half of the entire hole, almost the size of your tank. As you watch, frozen to the spot, it takes a step forward. The stone floor cracks and splinter as it brings its weight down, steadily enough to make little noise despite its massive size. A few short steps bring it across the room to the nearest Duty fighter corpse, still left where they fell. You had no intention of honoring their dead, after all.
The beast seems to lean over to grab the corpse by the arm, then lifting it with ease into the air to begin chewing loudly on the flesh.

You watch on in fascination as it makes short work of its grizzly meal. With one final crunch, it swallows the body, armor and all. At this moment, you realize you haven't drawn a breath since you spotted the shadow, and every so slowly ease your diaphragm open.
At the almost silent intake of breath, the monster freezes in place. Slowly, it rotates its body, bringing its face to stare directly at you.

That's it for this week, folks! Hopefully soon I'll be able to find the time to get some real progress in instead of all these short threads.

As always, thread is open for discussion and whatnot, I'll be around for Q&A for a while.
Thread has been archived.

Thanks for the thread, hope to see you all next time!
>>
>>31448038
Thanks for the thread HK, I'm hoping that Loli can deal with it by herself, if only to see the reaction on Kris and Vasa's faces when they come up to see whats wrong and we're sitting on its corpse eating chocolate while covered in its blood and say "Have you made babies yet?"
>>
>>31447962
I'm going to preemptively vote that we do NOT attempt to tame this mutant.

bbbut what about Doggy and Fluffy and Nibbler? they need friends anon, big friends to protect them from the mean people while we run around in our tank

>>31448127
Because it will oneshot us if the attempt fails. Any of the other attempts we could have viably survived failing.
>>
>>31448132
Fluffy doesn't love you, anon, he was just having a dull day and decided to just roll with it for the fun. He's back to killing novice stalkers and running into anomalies at the Cordon now.

>>31448038
so how far away is our tank and why are both Viktor and Ice asleep?

On second thought, make this abomination our pet
>>
>>31448231
>PSEUDOGIANT VS GILTINE? 1 VS 1?
Well of course it won't be 1 vs 1, we've got Vasa and Kris-neechan downstairs and our tank outside.

We're not going to be too stupid in fighting this thing
>>
>>31448217
The tank is parked right outside the main door. You can see it from here.
You can't tell if Ice and Viktor are asleep. You just know that the tank hasn't made a move yet.
>>
>>31448264

To quote Loli "I AM THE MOTHERFUCKING GILTINE BITHC." And let's go back to our roots, BLOODHOUND OF THE ZONE.

Don't scream for help, only knives now
>>
>>31448302
Sadly, we just woke up V&K a moment ago. They'd have to seriously hate us to ignore the noise.
>>
>>31448337

The very least we don't scream for help, they came anyway but we didn't call for help. "Hello cute squishy squishy meat ball."
>>
>>31448337
the only acceptable reason for them to not help us in this fight is if they are busy having hot lesbian sex
>>
Why should we fight him? Just great him amicably, point to duty corpses, pull out some chocolate and start eating.
>>
>>31448411
That certainly in character for Giltine
>>
>>31448411
I seriously doubt that would work.
>>
>>31448364
In fact I'd be happy to fight it with only the tank helping if they do fuck
>>
>>31448510
But what kind of person decides that the sound of a psychotic little mass-murdering zone-spawned demon fight a psychotic giant mass-mudering zone-spawned demon is the perfect background music for sexytime?

anon, I'd be all for riding it around as our tank follows us through the zone if I thought we'd be able to get the nat 20 required
>>
>>31448779
At worst if we roll a 10 the pg will just bark at us and leave.
>>
>>31448891
Haha, yea, I'm sure that's what will happen. There's no way a fucking pseudogiant will be harder to tame than a dog or a rat.
>>
>>31448916
well as long as failing the 'tame' roll does not immediately fuck us up, I wouldn't be averse to trying to tame it, if it fails we can always kill it after it does not recognize us as supreme queen arch-duchess of the zone
>>
>>31448916
Didn't kalleun say he was tired of the do or die dcs and is opting for a more linearly scaled system?
>>
>>31448961
I believe so, I vaguely recall him saying something like that
>>
>>31448961
>>31448955
You're talking about taming a pseudogiant here. It murdering you instantly is the norm, not a crit fail. Making it stop for even a second would be a high degree of success. You're mistaking a desire to move away from "you break your neck because you failed the dc to move down the stairs" for a system where suicidal actions don't have consequences as long as you roll above 10.

>Pseudogiants

Haven't been following the quest, but if we're talking about the CoP pseudogiants then it's going to take more than just hitting it with a tank.

The zone takes what the zone wants, stalker. You cannot tame the zone.
>>
>>31449569
I haven't played CoP, but if they're as tough as you say, how about we simply run away? Surely nothing even worse can happen by running wildly into the darkness of nighttime Zone.
>>
>>31449771
The best idea is to lure the Pseudogiant to somewhere away from the station, and when it gets far enough, we get the fuck out.

If we simply run away, what the hell is V&K gonna do?
>>
>>31449834
We need to lure it somewhere in the open, where out personal 125mm 2A46M can hit it from range accurately without fear of collateral, and even better if we can goad it into some anomalies, or get the scientists and mercs to help out, I'm sure the scientists would love to study it.

But we can't really fight it here, where our tank can't work effectively and where our friends are.
>>
>>31449868
Yep, that's the way to go.

The SoC pseudogiants can be downed in two half-assed grenades and dumping a mag or two.

The CoP pseudogiants can tank two rpg rounds and keep running at you like it was nothing.

>how about we simply run away?
Now you're getting the idea, sta-
>nighttime Zone
Oh dear god, stalker, no, the blood suckers hunt at night. Never underestimate the zone, she's an unforgiving bitch.

The pseudogiants are territorial beasts, not truly ones to be aggressive. He might just be out hunting. If you let him walk, the zone may reward you later on when you're the one walking in unknown territory.

I feel that I've about reached the end of m usefulness, so I will go, but always remember, stalker. The zone, she is a magnificent being. Treat her inhabitants well, and she may reward you in kind. Harvest everything in greed, though, and you may find yourself facing her wrath.
>>
>>31449834
Well I was hoping it would follow us instead of ignore is in favor of the prey it isn't even aware exists.

>>31449868
Loli doesn't have the slightest clue where any anomalies are in the area, so trying to lure it into one at night is probably about as safe as just giving it a big hug and hoping it likes that better than your taste.

>>31449922
I'm pretty sure I could count the number of mutants Loli has killed plus the number of artifacts she has picked up on one hand. Two hands at most. Non-mutants on the other hand, nobody really has count of those anymore. The best way to put it would probably be "at least not everyone died."
>>
>>31450025
What is she, a stalker or a bandit?

Best watch your back even moreso, then, lest you become food for the snorks.
>>
>>31448085
oh god my fucking sides
>>
>>31450104
The quest is Loli S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Quest. I'm genuinely uncertain of the direct kill count, it's not completely inhuman, but if you expand the count to just "people whose deaths are somehow related to Loli" it does make sense that Duty charged her with the crime of "conspiring with the Zone." It's a lot of dead dudes. So many that I'm starting to stop worrying about it because I just don't know who would come after her at this point.
