Log Horizon Quest 2: The Backgroundening

QM's Twitter: https://twitter.com/TinyShepherdQst
Previous Thread: http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/archive/31370008/

You are Anthony Grant, or rather, you were Anthony Grant. Now you are Ambrosius, the level 30 melee specced cleric with no guild and only two people on your friend list. The first member is Canis, the level 30 bard, who does prefer to be called Canis both in game and out, even though his real name is Eric. The second member is your younger brother, Zachery, although he goes by Vertigo in this game.

A lot has happened since the strange event that pulled you into the game; you assume that is what has happened, anyway. You have pulled levers, made a chair cannon using only a door and a lever, created this world's first not-so-flying chair, yelled at a woman for having a name that was not a word, found out her name was actually a word, bought some Steel Silk, found Canis, found out the city portals no longer work, and found out your brother is stuck in Big Apple on the east coast.

“What do you mean he's stuck over there!?” You yell, “Who the hell shut down the portals!?”

Canis shrugs, “I really don't think anyone did.” He pause, “I think they just don't work anymore.”

“Well why the hell don't the work anymore!?” You were scared and confused. All the horrible things that could happen to your brother started wafting into your brain. You push the images out of your head and try to focus, “Okay. Okay. We can't panic.”

“We should get horses.” Canis responds.

“Yes!” You exclaim, “You get horses, I'll get a wagon and supplies. Let's reverse Oregon Trail this bitch!”

You turn and take a single step when another idea floats into your head. You still have three of your “True Levers” as you call them now, for some reason. Perhaps attaching one to the portal will reactivate it?

[ ] Call Zachery. He needs to know what you are doing.
[ ] Don't call Zachery. If he's still raiding, calling him might get him killed.

Do we have a character sheet and stats? Inventory? I feel that if we are going to be in the DATABASE we should develop a database to contain this information.

Also can we get a SAO cameo? Mostly because I just want to push kittytoes shit in for being a massive fucking edgy faggoy in one of the worst animes I've ever seen. After all Log Horizon is pretty much a competent SAO

Realize that running off into the wilderness on day one will probably just end in our grizzly death, and cool our jets. He's all the way on the other side of the continent and we're going to be traveling via goddamn horse, it's a long enough journey that waiting until we're better prepared might actually save us time.

The two of us and a wagon vs Angry Fantasy Mojave Desert sounds like a losing battle.

You start walking over towards the city portal True Lever in hand. At the same time you open up your friend list and click on the [Call] button next to the name Vertigo.

Ring

Ring

"Hello?" His words are sluggish. That peculiar slowness you know is associated with him just waking up. "What's up?"

"Wait. I thought you were raiding."

There is a pause."

"Oh course I'm raiding!" He shouts. "Everyone to the left! Max DPS now! Go go go! I gotta go. Things are really-"

"So, what are you doing?"

"...Raiding...?"

You're a bit tired of his shit, but you don't think finding out what he was doing would be very useful.

"Right. Well, me and Canis are going to be walking towards Big Apple. You need to meet us half way so we can get you back here."

"Why would I go back with you?" He asks.

"Why the hell wouldn't you come back with us!?"

"Because my guild hall is here, along with all the good things, like this bed."

"I thought you were raiding."

"I'm using the ... bed... tank... technique. BTT is a super well known strat for Balimor's workshop."

"Okay, well, you know what? I'm just going to go try and reactivate the city portals. You know, something useful. You go have fun with your BTT."

"Okay. Good night."

You are quite livid with your brother. Does he not understand the position you are all in? The giant city gate looms over you. You push through the crowd.

"Excuse me. Engineer coming through. Out of the way. S'cuse me!"

You finally reach the grand structure and press your third True Lever into it. It attaches.

Jesus man at least get a casual outfit for when you're not raiding. I can understand that the +10 Banana Hammock of Stat Boosts is pretty sweet, but you're gonna run into issues if you just march around like that.

Unless he's into that sort of thing, in which case I'll respect his life choices even if I don't understand them.

Everyone's got their coping mechanism to deal with extreme stress. Some people freak the fuck out and break down immediately, some get angry and violent, some bottle it up and act like nothing is wrong (him, potentially), and some distract themselves by doing whatever task they can get their hands on to keep their mind occupied (us).

Of course he might be one of the types that actually doesn't see it as a negative thing, there were a lot of people who really didn't give a fuck.

The lever attached. Perhaps you are some kind of magical chosen one who will save the people of this world. You are so excited!

You pull the leve-

You pull the-

You pull-

You puuuuuull-

The lever does not budge. You literally hang from the lever, trying to pull it down.

"Move, you...!" You begin balancing on top of the lever. "What the hell is this bullshit?" You think out loud.

The crowd around you is perplexed by what you are trying to accomplish.

"Pulling this lever will activate the portal!" You announce to the crowd, "So stop staring and try to help me!"

Strong fighters try pulling it, summoners try dropping bears on it, and mages try all kinds of spells on the lever. Nothing appear to work. You take out another lever.

UP

DOWN

UP

DOWN

Perhaps if you build some kind of platform or something on top of the lever you could put more pressure on it.

"What if we extend out the lever and add some kind of platform to the end." The dwarf to your right says.

"I was thinking the same thing." Your respond. "We need to increase force on the fulcrum somehow." You are not 100% sure what a fulcrum was, but you are quite certain you said that right.

The dwarf draws out some plans on the ground. "This might snap the extension off, though."

You open your mouth to say something, but then you get a call from Canis. "Don't forget potions." He says, "Also, are you hungry? Cause I'm hungry."

"Uhhh..."

"I think I can get the portal working again. I just need to get this lever activated." You tell Canis.

"Guy. I just bought horses for us." He seems to be quite angry, but then breathes in and sighs. "You're paying me back for those horses." He responds in a far less angry voice.

"Someone go get some food!" You yell out to the crowd. "Also, all engineers, get your asses over here! We got a lever to pull!"

The crowd is all abuzz with murmurs. Several people walk up to you and the dwarf. People of all different looks and levels. They begin to draw out plans and use arcane maths which you understand very little.

"What's going on?" Comes the voice of Canis behind you.

"We're trying to pull a lever." You reply.

"Is it stuck?"

"Yeah."

"Did you try lubricating it?"

"Oil! Of course!"

The group of engineers nod in agreement. How foolish they were for forgetting the simplest principal. If it does not move, but it is supposed to move, use WD40.

"Alright, you sons of bitches!" The dwarf announces to the crowd. "Who has oil!?"

"Ooo! Ooo! I do!" yells a low level assassin. He comes rushing up to the crowd, holding a vial of an orange, viscous liquid. "What should I do with it?"

"Pour it on the lever, you beautiful bastard, you!" The dwarf cries out. The crowd cheers. You wish you had been that assassin, saving the day with a well placed vial of oil. He uncorks the vial. Everyone holds their breath in anticipation.

The lowest level engineer, a level 12 sorcerer, suddenly asks, "Wait. Isn't that flame oil?"

The oil pours out onto the lever. "Yeah!" The assassin responds with a smile, "Why?"

The lever bursts into a torrent of flames. The wooden handle turns black and a liquid begins to pour from the gaps made by the wood turned ash. It takes you a few seconds to realize, but the liquid is the internal gears turned to liquid metal, now dripping on the floor.

Everyone is stunned. No one says a word. The flames dies out over a minute and what remained of the handle falls into the pulled position. With no gears to hold up the lever, gravity took over.

"It worked!" The assassin announces.

You look up to this assassin's name. Takeshi. You will be sure to remember this name as the person you will hate forever. The crowd explodes into horrid wailing and furious words. Just about anything that isn't tried down is pelted at this Takeshi. It takes until a group launches a cart at him for the city guards to begin spawning. The crowd resists the guards. Can we attach levers to the gui?
>>
>>31457825
...
Let's find out
>>
"Guys! STOP STOP STOP! Well keep hitting him, BUT SHUT UP ABOUT IT!
We're in a video game right?
And It has multiple players right?
And it can have a lever stuck on it right?
And a portal is just a door right?
And it's a door that won't open in a multiplayer video game right?
The solution is obvious...
/dramatic gesture/
Someone needs to attach a lever at the other end... and we both need to flip them at the same time."
>>
What if we call our deadbeat slutbro up and tell him to find an engineer with another True lever and have him attach it to the portal and have us attach one of our last true levers then try the double pull?
Would be easier, cheaper, and shorter than us taking a long trip filled with adventure and friends only to find out it doesn't work.
>>
>>31457924
Would you really want to risk it? What if the other dude's levers aren't true?
>>
>>31457960
Buy/borrow/steal True Levers from fellow engineers. Then, we won't waste our own.

Of course, chances are we need to flip levers on every single gate across the country at the same time.
>>
>>31457960
Just tell them to make sure it is a lever made before the DATABASE and that it's from the best engineer they can find.

You drag the dwarf's name, MercuryHat, onto your friend list. "I have a theory."

Mercury stopped calling Takeshi a whore-bitch-cunt-faced-mother-fucker for a second to turn to you. "What's the plan?" He asks.

"First, do you have any levers from before all of..." You motion to everything, "This happened?"

"Nah." He responds, "Levers stop giving xp after level 35. If you need pulleys or cart axles, I can help."

You turn to the other engineers, "Do any of you have levers made before... We really need a word for whatever happened."

"The databasing!" Takeshi suggests.

For a second you wonder how he survived taking a cart to the face, but you turn back to the engineers. "Does anyone have a lever from before the ... databasing..." You hated the term, but it was all you had. Each of the engineers give you a negative response. "God damn it!" You shout. "Okay. Whatever, I still have two, I can just plop one on."

You open up your friend list again and call your brother.

"Hello?" He says in his sleepy manner.

"Get off your ass, put some real clothes on, and go find someone who has a lever what was made before the databasing!"

"What's databasing?" He asks.

"Whatever the hell happened to get us all stuck here! Now go out and find one!" You hang up.

You turn back to the engineers. "Okay, here's the thing. Portals are like doors, right? Well, a door can't open into nothing! There has to be something to enter into, so at least two portals have to be online, right? Right. So when my brother finds a lever, attaches it to the portal, I'll attach another lever here, we'll pull both at the same time, and everyone will be happy!"

Your mind is racing a mile a minute. This will work right? Right. Right? Right. Right. It's gotta.

Ri-

You pick up the phone immediately. "Did you find one!?"

He yawns. "Yeah. Guildie of mine had, one in a chest somewhere." He pauses. "Sorry. I mean an Armoire." He says armoire in a very over the top manner, no doubt making fun of whoever corrected him.

"Good! Get that thing to the town portal!" You command.

Now that you have some time to think, you wonder if you might need to activate every portal at the same time or just two. You certainly hope the latter.

"Alright I'm here." Your brother says, "So what do I do?"

"Touch it to the portal!"

"Yeah... that's not doing anything. It just falls right off."

"Does the back of it have a gear sticking out, or is it flat?"

"It's flat."

"And it's not working?"

"No."

You scrunch up your face in thought. You have a theory. "Get your engineer friend to attach it."

"Oh. Okay. That worked. Weird..."

"Alright. What's his name? We need to pull them at the same time."

"Flugelhorn."

You add this Flugelhorn character to your friend list and hang up on your brother.

You call.

"Hello?" Speaks the voice of what sounds to be an old man, "No, I don't want any prune juice."

"Uhhh..."

"No, I'm just kiddin' whit'cha. You're the brother, right?"

"Yeah. We need to pull these levers at the same time. You ready?"

"I'm as ready as a bird in the early mornin'."

"I have no idea that that means, but I'm going to assume you're ready."

You place your fourth lever onto the gateway. You only have one left now.

"On the count of three."

"On three or do we get to three three and then say pull, an' then pull?"

"On pull."

"One." You begin. "Two." You focus entirely on the lever. "Three." There is nothing else in the world. It is you, the lever, and the countdown. "Pull!" You pull down as had as you can. You feel the lever begin to descend. You have done it! And then it stops suddenly.

"Ah!" The old man says, "Did you stop pulling?"

"No...." You reply. "Did you?"

"Nope. Still pullin' it with all I can."

You pull as hard as you can as well, but it does not budge further.

Getting the levers all over the world would be quite an ordeal. Level 90 engineers going through random fairy ring spreaching the gospel of the portal lever?
>>

Not really.

Theoretically, with as many people as there are in both South Angel and Big Apple (or whatever they're called), the chances of someone knowing someone who knows someone in every portal-containing city is pretty high. Now, whether or not every portal will have an engineer with True Levers is up in the air
>>
>>31459093
We have access to the Big Apple... no doubt with that network we can get in touch with at least one engi in every town. There's bound to be at least ONE True Lever in each of those towns as it's unlikely engi would be an unpopular thing.
Then we all party up and sync The Great Pull.

We just need everyone to get in touch with friends. Certainly some amount of people here know an engineers in each town on the server."

That is when the level 12 sorcerer, a tiny woman named Lilac of <Sweet Cake>, points something out to you. "This server and the South American servers."

"What?"

"The North American portals and South American portals are connected, despite being on different servers."

Your rage boils over. You grab her and start shaking. "WHO THE HELL WOULD LET SOMETHING LIKE THAT HAPPEN!?"

"Florid, Texas, and Loisiana were angry they they weren't apart of the North American server, so they demanded the ability to travel freely between the two servers."

"But you can't communicate between servers..."

You currently have plate armor and a buckler, as is standard of most clerics, melee or ranged.

The only class you would have less armor than on average is a Guardian, but clerics lack any form of taunting power and have only average health progression, making them not very good tanks.

Ok so it sounds like we're most useful as a melee DPS and need another melee DPS (or tank) to make best use of things.

That means we need a ranged DPS, a Tank/ melee DPS, and a Healer or another DPS is we get a good tank or can find another Cleric specced like us since we can chain heal with our abilities. In theory. Cleric may be super OP with that skill.

But hey; lets put up a call to action/ LFP and see who pops out of the woodwork.

From the latest translated novel
>Auto Heal would activate when allies took damage, recovering their HP. The healing power could recover about 5 to 10 attacks. It was a great spell that automatically healed allies when they were hurt. For beginners to major raids like Akatsuki and Maryele, the psychological assurance of magic cast before battle was a huge advantage.

>But this magic had a weak point. It activated after damage was dealt, meaning it couldn't stop fatal attacks, or powerful attacks that cut off an arm. Maryele's skill level in Auto Heal was lower than a cleric from D.D.D, so it was still far from total HP recovery even when it was used.

You turn to the crowd and shout, "I'm going to Big Apple. Anyone who wants to join me is free to! Meet at the exit to the city!"

With that you go back towards the merchant district. All the merchants stare at you as you walk down the road between them. They are silent and simply stare. You conclude this must be a bug of some kind.

You find the alchemist and clear your throat. He seems to wince at your presence, but it must just be your imagination. "PURCHASE HEALTH POTION TIMES TWENTY, PURCHASE MANA POTION TIMES TWENTY."

You think for a moment. Is that all you need? You still need to get food, but as far as potions were concerned twenty of each should be enough.

"CONFIRM PURCHASE!"

The merchant busies himself, placing all forty potions onto the surface of his stall. You pick one up to look at, instinctively.

"O-o-one hundred gold, please."

You are currently holding the potion. Did you just discover another glitch!? You look around. Symbology, or whoever took away your True Levers might be watching. You don't want them to update the server again and take away another exploit you found, so you place the potion back on the table.

You never know who is watching you. It's best to play the good boy for now. You fling the 100 gold at the merchant and take up all the potions. With the potions securely placed in your inventory you rush off to the stables to buy a cart. The stables were right next to entrance so you got a quick glance at the party that had assembled. Canis, Lilac, Some pirate you did not know, some duelist you did not know. It was not a full party yet, but it was a party nonetheless.

You entered the stables. The man behind the counter dives for the floor, crying out, "Please don't hurt me!" You wonder if there is some kind of event going on. You didn't have time for any kind of event right now.

"BUY LARGE CART TIMES ONE!"

The man is completely unresponsive, simply crying and laying on the floor.

This is one really strange event. You don't even know what you are supposed to do here. That is when a man comes down from some stairs nearby. He extends his arms dramatically and says, "Welcome to my shop. I took it with my actions, and now it is mine."

You thought a while and concluded that this must be some kind of RP Quest. Probably a new thing. You were obviously the hero, and he was the villain. The fact that every hand gesture this man made as he talked made him seem more and more of a jack ass was probably just his great acting skill.

You know how these things go, but there was no time for the long speeches and all that, so instead you grab the man by his shirt and fling him out of the window into a well placed water trough. It was practically choreographed with how well that went. That has to be worth bonus XP.

"Thank you, thank you, thank you!" The merchant yells, coming over and hugging you. "Here here!" He yells out, "You wanted a cart right? Well, this is my best cart. Take it. It's yours!"

He leads you over to a large blue cart. It looked pretty expensive, which you like. This has to be where all that bonus choreography went. Now you wish you had taken the time to make a speech first. You can only imagine what that would have gotten you.

You call over Canis, who brings the two horses with him. With horse and cart combined, it was time to leave.

You drove the cart out to the exit of the city and looked at those that had assembled.

You had already met Lilac, the sorcerer, but you couldn't help wonder why such a low level character would party with you.

"So, why are you going to Big Apple?" You ask.

"I have my reasons." She responds.

"And they are...?"

"Mine to withhold."

You looked to Canis, who simply shrugged.

Lilac got on board the cart, without even being told she was allowed to. The next one comes up. A pirate named Trove. He was in no guild, just like you.

"Yarr! I'm ready to sail the seas of adventure in hopes to find booty!" Trove announces to you.

You give him a 'Are you fucking serious' face.

Trove blushes in embarrassment and says, "I-I mean... I just really don't like being in a desert."

You sigh. It's not like you can find another tank anywhere. "Get on." You say.

You look at the next person. A duelist named Judicature. Beneath her name was <Morning Star>.

You motion to her, "Any reason you are heading to Big Apple?"

"You looked like you needed help." She responds, "As a member of Morning Star it is my duty to help those in need."

You were not quite sure how to take her statement, but you accepted all the same. "Alright. Hop aboard."

You looked left. You looked right. That appeared to be everyone.

You began to drive the cart forward when you heard a sudden crash from behind you. You turn around to see Takeshi standing in the cart. You blink twice. "No." You state.

"I've come to help!" Takeshi announces.

"No."

"I will use my samurai sword to strike down evil wherever it is!"

"No."

Lilac butts into the conversation, "We lack a full party."

"Listen to the wise girl, for she know the power of the Samurai!"

"Samurai are a Japanese only class." Lilac responds, "You are an assassin."

"Samurai-ism is not about being a specific class! It's about believing in honor and justice!"

You look to Canis. He shrugs and gives you an awkward smile, "I guess more DPS isn't a bad thing."

You begin to think. Perhaps you died while playing the game and this is hell. You turn to Takeshi. "If you promise not to do anything. ANYTHING! Unless someone tell you to, you can come along."

"I promise!" He yells, sitting down in the back of the cart.

You can only imagine what you have wrought with this decision.

You and your strange band of levels 12-35 ride off down the road, entering the desert before you.

Here's another thought to sleep on. We are in a computer game. Computer games are built out of various coding languages to talk to the computer to render them. At its core this code is binary. A string of 1's and 0's. Yes and no. On and off.
Therefore say if we fill the entire wasteland with levers and leave them in various states; there's a real possibility we can change various effects on the continent itself; let alone the entire world.

Unfortunately this would be limited to small things mostly as the algorithms to render 3D graphics, let along things of this caliber are extremely long.

A can imagine it now. A massive undertaking of many players installing switches on the desert floor. As many will defend it from the deathclaws.

All to change the fabric of reality itself.

If this is not Humanity Fuck Yeah nothing is.
>>
>>31463820
But that's the thing, we're NOT in a computer game. The world's natural laws are different from the ones we're familiar with, but by all indications that's due to magic rather than being controlled by a program.

Get the "it's still a game" idea out of your head.

>due to long overly complex algorithms dozens of player macros have to be generated to quickly adjust and readjust levers until the right combinations can be recorded and taken down manually in the Grilmor of Machines.
>Once we find enough things... we simply become a god. All by using the most simplistic throw away level grinding item available to an engineer...

All the world breaking things in Log Horizon are not so much an act of breaking a game engine, so much as it is taking advantage of things inherent to the world of Elder Tales and following them along a logical progression.

It's essentially how overskills work. We're not in a computer game anymore.
>>
>>31463876
At its core this reality is still comprised of computer science as its backbone, therefore I'll continue to postulate that manipulating it as such is feasible provided we have the knowledge, tools, materials, and resources required to do so.

We'll call it Flip the Switch.

The UBW reference is overplayed, and the ability sounds more like a villan power from Jojo than anything else.
>>
>>31463954
But... it isn't. It really, really isn't. You're making the exact same mistake most characters in Log Horizon made for the longest time until they realize they were being complete idiots about it. It's not a computer program, nor does it function like one. Computer programing won't help us in the slightest.
>>
>>31463997
I'll be honest; I'm not completely familiar with the series, however that does seem like a logical, if nonsensical, conclusion to this predicament.

That said; we will simply need to find a different way to manipulate this world and bend it to our will.
Unfortunately that will most likely require additional engineers and actual engineering knowhow, meaning we can't brute force it with simplicity as hoped. This is troubling and I'll need to think on this development, but I swear to you this world WILL kneel to us by the time this is over. It is... inevitable.

Well that's good. On the other hand it is likely that Takeshi is very self aware and is just actively trolling us.
And/or Morning Star isn't duty bound to help us at all.

We could still build a computer out of levers.

Just trust me, Ronald Reagan explains all this in the series.

Shit's magic, powered by magic, and it works because of magic. The fact that it resembles the game mechanics is mostly incidental. True Levers are, apparently, also magic.

We'll be able to do some crazy shit I'm sure, but unlike a computer we will run into situations of "it just works" and "it just don't work" when trying to manipulate the world, because that's how magic works.

Magic, science, and levers mother fuckers.

All it takes is a switch.

There are more implications of reaching the moon in Elder Tales than you realize, anon.

And America got to the moon first again because of levers!

Is god there? does god live on the moon like in Full Metal Alchemist?
Are there rabbit folk up there like on Kamigawa?
Is it delicious cheese?
seriously though don't spoil it for me.

The level cap actually stops technological advancement after a certain point.

When asked the question "why don't they just invent guns?", the reply boiled down to "they could, but the minimum level requirements on something so powerful would ensure nobody could ever use them". All advanced tech is basically going to be rough imitations constructed by cobbling together simple parts and naturally occurring magical shit. Like the steam engine powered by a fire lizard thing.

Basically we'll top out at magitech-steampunk levels for all practical purposes.
>>
>>31464478
That is a perfect villain taunt.
>>
>>31464552
but perhaps if we could somehow turn this level cap off...

Apply levers directly to the level cap

>>
>>31464478
Oh god, we HAVE to take this the JoJo route somehow.

>>31464582
That would be extremely tricky and would most likely require us to partner up with a filthy mage and use their primitive hand waving bullshit magic rather than pure logical holy machinery.

>Shiros merchant guild notices some things that weren't possible are doable now.

>>
>>31464552
If I recall correctly they used the fire lizards instead of coal because that way they didn't have to lug fuel with them. It had nothing to do with level issues.
>>
>>31464702
We must find a player with the name Perry.
>>
>>31464552
It was actually...

>>Mamare-san, can people create modern technology like guns or television if they have a high enough skill and real-life knowledge?
There's a possibility, but there's a difference between making things and actually using them.
Even if you make a very powerful weapon, you might need to be level 200 to be actually able to use it.

It is specifically a no to modern guns and weapons. Things like flintlocks might be possible. I mean, one of the main classes is the pirate, and what is a pirate without a flintlock pistol?
>>
>>31464702
>Break level cap
>Go full high sci-fi in a world of high-fantasy
WHAT COULD GO WRONG?!
>>
>>31464740
So if we're smart enough we MIGHT be able to make a very very simple computer... but we'd never be able to use it.
Bothersome.
On the other hand turn of the century gatling guns should be possible if flintlocks are since they're not too far off in function really.
>>
>>31464791
The hand crank ones you see in westerns and The Last Samurai?
Too advanced I think.
>>
Well it's 2AM and I have work. Night guys. See you in the database in a few days.
>>
>>31464749
Simple.

Physical laws on that world start causing your shit to backfire.
>>
>>31464834
Magic fucks with everything it doesn't like. Which is moth things.
>>
>>31464714
Maybe a bad example, but the point remains that there is a canonical upper threshold to practical technology until someone finds out how to break or increase the level cap.

Which... might be possible? It'd probably take several genius max-level players (a couple of Shiroes, basically. I don't think our character is a Shiroe) to even figure out how to go about it, and if it is possible there is no guarantee anyone could actually pull it off.

But fuck technology, our hypothetical Flip The Switch is strong because of the It Just Works quality of the True Lever, which can't be replicated except by people who know the secret of creating True Levers, and we will NEVER share that secret once we learn it.

Dear QM,

Please nip this metagaming in the bud.
>>
Overskills are a mix between your class skills and your subclass skills.

Everyone is stating the engineer lever, but what about the cleric portion? Will we be able to summon holy levers?
>>
>>31464896
Blessed levers.

Levers are more effective as God guide your hands.
>>
>>31464864
You make some good points but I'm curious. I haven't read Volume 7 yet, but has anyone actually reached lvl 100? I don't think anyone has quite yet... It is still very possible there is no level cap. The biggest issue is going to be finding mobs of a high enough level to give experience.
>>
what are the odds Morning Star is an in game NPC faction?

>>31464865
It's not really meta gaming; it's people seeing how far they can push this ability/ concept. This happens every quest every day in /tg/ and when you give them so simple, yet open ended... thins get crazy.
>>
>>31464865
The MC isn't a real engineer and he only has one True Lever remaining.

The possibility for something like this happening is very, very slim, but theory crafting what COULD be possible is fun some times.
>>
>>31464896
creation of an actual god of machines
Or we go weird obscure X-Men route and gain the ability to talk to machines or be powered by their prayers to us.
>>
>>31464966
