You are Evangeline Salome Rosalina de Fuentes, noble of Alamos Primus. Your father, an Imperial Guard commander, died in the line of duty. Newly orphaned, you are now a cadet at the Schola Progenium of Loyola Tertius. Today is your first day.

Attributes cost [current score x3] xp. There will also be chances for the PC to train. Every session, the PC will gain a base of 2 XP, plus 1 XP for actions chosen/write-ins that I like.

As this is my first quest, constructive criticism is very, very welcome (and asked for) but please try to keep the majority of it to after session end.

You decide to go for a morning run to kill some time, then to track down Gelus. He said he'd see you again soon, but you're too impatient to wait. On the map, a track oval is marked on the far side of the campus from the refectory. You'll go there to run.

On the way to the track, you pass by the temple, dorms, and an immense building marked as the gymnasium on the map. The gymnasium dwarfs both the dorms and the temple, something curious for an Ecclesiarchy-run institution. On the other side of the track, you make out many obstacles, both large and short. Past that is the forest.

You estimate the track is four hundred meters around and you're able to complete a lap around it in under two minutes. It's made from an unfamiliar material, though similar to plascrete, that is porous and not too rigid under you boots. You complete a handful of laps before you notice a figure approaching from the dorms at jogging pace. It nears the track and you make out a girl a bit shorter than you.

>Stop running, greet her, converse (anything specific?)
>Wave at her, keep running
>Don't acknowledge her

introductions, ask who she is, how long she's been here, what does she do etc

Waving and continuing it is, writing.

You glance towards the girl, wave at her, and continue running. She waves back, then stops her approach at the edge of the oval. She stretches for a few minutes and you pass by her twice. She finishes stretching then breaks into a jog.

She starts out with her pace matching yours. You complete another lap. She starts speeding up, the distance between you closing. You keep your speed the same.

“Hi, I've never seen you around before! ”, she says in Low Gothic, passing you. “You must be new!”

Her voice is high-pitched and bubbly, almost that of a small child, but her face says she's nearly the same age as you. You're about a head taller than her. Her strawberry-blonde hair bounces in twin tails as she runs. She's dressed similarly to you.

“I'm Sabbatine Emee, what's your name?” Again in Low Gothic, in a clipped accent that you can't place. The initiate and the menials earlier had spoken similarly. This is the second time she's lapped you. You've only completed a single lap since she started.

As she comes around for a third pass:
>Introduce yourself
>Introduce yourself, try to make small talk
>Say nothing

In addition:
Try to keep up with her, Y/N. If Y, roll 2d10 for Agility + Endurance
>>
>>31467333
Oh, and if you make small talk, Low or High Gothic?
>>

And while I loooove rolling dice, let's not try to keep up. If she slows down we can have small-talk.

well thats a fail

>>31467438
or is it? I'm confused now, is the success threshold applied to each rolled die or the result of the rolled die?
>>
>>31467461
the success threshold is applied to each rolled die. The first one was checking for agility, the second one was checking for endurance. Basically if you could match her speed and keep it up.
>>
Rolled 9, 7 = 16

>>31467474
right, so we fail both agility and endurance
>>
>>31467333
Check if she smells of mold or mildew before making friends, you can never be too sure with these planet-bound people. Chat with her in low gothic, the poor thing probably doesn't know better.

She comes up in the lane beside you, and slows down a bit, waiting for answer.

“Evangeline de Fuentes,” you say. She speeds up again before you can say anything more, pulling ahead of you quickly.

Being the proud noblewom-err, noblegirl that you are, you won't be outdone. You try to keep up. You let off a burst of speed and close the distance a bit. She glances back at you, probably hearing your heavy breathing. She bursts into a grin, and lets out a bubbly laugh.

Sabbatine lets loose, somehow she wasn't going full speed. This girl...is a beast on two legs. You absolutely cannot keep up. She passes you twice, giggling as she does, before you can't go on anymore. You fall on your butt, gasping for breath. You wish you had something to drink right now.

Sabbatine finishes another four laps, keeping the same insane speed, then stops right next to you.

“Like I said, I'm Sabbatine Emee. You're obviously new, because nobody who knows who I am tries to keep up with me during PT. You came in with the latest batch. Which room did you wake up in? They like to do that to the new kids, to see what they do in an unfamiliar situation.”
>>
>>31467754
She reaches her hand out to you. At this distance you can see the sweat glistening on her skin in the light of the rising sun. You're sweating much more than she is.

>Let her help you up
>Bat her hand away
>Stand up without touching her hand
>Stay silent
>Start talking to her (Low/High Gothic) (anything specific?)

>>31467857
>>Start talking to her (Low/High Gothic) (anything specific?)
Ask if she speaks High Gothic.
>>
>>31467857

woo, making friends
>Start talking to her (Low/High Gothic) (anything specific?)
low, ask if she speaks high, ask who she is cause we've no idea, and answer her question about where we woke up
>>
>>31467864
>>31467874
I concur with both of these.

>Start talking to her in Low Gothic
Mention we woke up to see planetfall.
>>
>>31467874
>where we woke up
just checked the archive as I'd forgotten, but the room we woke up in had number 087 above its door

Writing. Taking her hand and talking in Low Gothic, inquiring about High Gothic fluency.
>>
>>31468086
You take her hand and she pulls you up to stand.

“Yeah I'm new. I arrived, well...either last night or this morning. I fell asleep on the truck en route. As for my room, I remember it was 087. First floor. Had a window. Do you speak High Gothic?” You're still panting, hands on your knees as you try to catch your breath.

“You were awake to make planetfall?”, she says in High Gothic, answering that question. She pouts. “I've never seen it myself. Not that I would remember...”

She continues without waiting for another answer. “And room 087? You're right across the hall from me, bunking with Rena! That's great! Rena Pyler, she'll be your new roommate. I'm sure you two can be friends. Most of the incoming class have been here together since we were kids. Ever since the Wind...”

She trails off after that, shifting her gaze to stare up at the morning clouds. She then breaks her stare and looks back at you, her grin returning.

“Well, it's almost dawn. We're both sweaty, so I'll show you the showers. Might want to change into dress uniform for Emperor's Day dawn service. Don't want to anger the Abbot Prime. Gelus is a stickler for formality.”

With that, she grabs your hand again and pulls you in the direction of the dormitories.

[Session end]
I think that's a good place to end. Sorry about the short session today and my pace is a bit slow plot-wise. Just have to introduce characters. I'll stick around a bit for any discussion.
>>
>>31468352
Thanks for the thread OP, yeah a bit short, hopefully next thread we can get more than one or two things done
>>
>>31468352
Ah, it's alright. Seemed a bit short yeah with only 4 updates, but it's fine. Especially since people were slow to trickle in for the first update.
>>
>>31468352
Man, a dress? Do we have to?

Shortness aside, it's still good. Looking forward to longer sessions. Maybe when more people show to play.
>>
>>31468392
>Maybe when more people show to play.
I don't see how that would speed things up, if anything 3-5/7-10 players are the idea playerbase sizes because things can be discussed quickly and consensus formed easily, which speeds things up
>>
>>31468392
Not a dress, but dress uniform. As opposed to BDUs.

You guys have some XP to spend if you want, you're at 8 from base this session and making a new friend.
>>
>>31468431
I say we up Intelligence at least, maybe Willpower.
>>
>>31468412
It's actually a good sized playerbase considering the time slot. Everyone in the US is sleeping.
>>
>>31468431
what can we spend them on and how much does things cost?
>>
>>31468489
nvm looked at the op

>Attributes cost [current score x3] xp.
so with 8xp we could get
- intelligence to 2 for 1
- willpower to 2 for 1
- endurance to 3 for 2
and then have 4 left over for other things, I'm torn between getting strength and agility to 2 and 3 respectively which leaves 1 left over
>>
Are we going off of the new current status of 2 for each stat or the old status of everything at 1?

Also have you worked out the status system yet?
>>
>>31468637
check the character sheet in the OP
>>
Also if someone would archive the thread, it would be much appreciated.
>>
>>31468660
No I meant are we going by after or before we gain the base +2 to our stats after each session.

Basically what I'm asking is if the [Session end] the time when the +2 is added.
>>
>>31468738
2 is base XP earned. Not stats. Bonuses from traits are already factored into stats on the sheet.
>>
>>31468764
Oh ok, I completely read that wrong.
>>
Oh, and I forgot to mention:
[Sabbatine Emee: +2 to Social Link Rank]
>>
>>31468704
you might want to keep the foolz archive link handy OP in case a thread does not get archives on sup/tg/, foolz autoarchives threads so you don't have to do it yourself, the foolz link for the quest is http://archive.foolz.us/tg/search/tripcode/!nqNlzHlbws/type/op/
>>
>>31468785
W-what's her arcana?
>>
>>31468785
Whoah, +2 for just going on a run with her? Man, we must be charismatic as fuck.
>>
>>31468817
Huh?

>>31468832
Naw, she just makes friends really easily. +1 is acquainted. Gelus has a score of +3 though...hmm
>>
>>31468844
Well, we've been interacting with Gelus a bit more o it makes sense.
>>
>>31468844
>Huh?
It's a Persona thing.
>>
>>31468531
I think that endurance and agility both cost 6 xp to change since they are already at a current score of 2
>>
>>31468894
I thought it cost 3 XP to take an ability from 1 to 2? And 6 from 2 to 3. Given
>Attributes cost [current score x3] xp
>>
>>31468921
This is correct.
>>
>>31468876
ah yes your right, I mistook it for x2 not x3, derp, ignore >>31468894

how about
- intelligence to 2 for 3
- willpower to 2 for 3
which would cost 6xp and leave us with 2 for next thread so hopefully we would earn some more and bump endurance up to 3
>>
>>31468926
Sounds good to me.
>>
>>31468926
I'm kind of getting the feeling we should use at least all of it since the multipliers are so low now, just to get an early edge.
>>
Just to give you forewarning for the (far-ish but not exactly near) future: the drill abbots for the course of your education and the recruiters on Selection (graduation) Day will be looking for specific traits and strengths for the career path that they will set you on. Assassinorum is, of course, not an option because choo choo.
>>
Rolled 6

>>31468967
well we can't use all of it because its by x3 not x2, so we'd have 2xp left over no matter what we chose, leveling one stat to 3 or two to 2
>>
>>31468971
Fuckin' trains!
Still in for int/will.
>>
>>31468971
So for a stormie we'd be looking for weapon skill, marksmanship, strength, endurance, intelligence and willpower and a side of leadership, agility and perception? although that can fit for any battlefield roll really except for flag/staff officer material

>>31468980
Woops, had dice left over from another quest.
>>
>>31468980
Alright I'm fine with >>31468926 then
