Quest Start

You are Mikage Chiba, age 15 second year high school student and formerly the third Sailor Moon. After sorting out an identity crisis in the dreamscape, you and Usa made your way into the ruined dreamscape of Elysion to confront the Shadow of Helios. Guarding the gate of his terrible fortress are Fisheye, Tiger’s Eye, and Hawk’s eye. After a brief conference with Usa, you learned their abilities and devised a number of options.

>Sneak up on them invisibly and take one out while Usa takes the front. Which one do you take out?
>Take them head on in close combat. Who do you engage?
>Cast Entangle and support Usa, though Hawk’s Eye can fire breath which will end the spell disasterously.
>Other Write in.

>Sneak up on them invisibly and take one out while Usa takes the front. Which one do you take out?
Either Hawk's Eye or Tiger's Eye. Either one works, I get the feeling Hawk's Eye might be able to see through our invisibility.
>>
>>31472829
Coming from either the right or the left, whichever looks tastiest, go straight for the grapple. Leave the other two for oneechan.
>>
>>31472981
Sounds legit, 2nd.
>>
>>31472829
Work together to strike on the same initiative, hit them with Entangle, have Usa target down Hawk's Eye and one other. Then take down the other the following round.
>>
>>31472829
Sneak up with invis, take out fish eye.
>>
>>31472953
Hm. Still, two out of three, and we might be able to get the actual spell invisibility at some point (should probably be under Path of Shadow)
>>
>>31472829
Yesterday we were favoring Entangle, and I'll still support that, grappling all of them with one spell then moving to pin the remaining one seems like the smart plan.
>>
>>31473040
More likely under Illusion, though we can get enough things under Shadow to hide in between strikes.
>>
Arty, question: Would we be able to take the Swift Ambusher feat at some point, given that Skirmish and Sneak Attack are both under Stealth? Would that just unlock the second one?
>>
>>31473044
This is true. Though I would say that we should sneak closer first.
I'm against spending a Planet Power on a short Invisibility.
>>
>>31473068
Yeah, but Invisibility and Greater Invisibility are some of the best sneak attack enablers ever. Doubly so if we can take Swift Ambusher, we cast invisibility, move ten feet up, sudden strike.
>>
Counting & Writing
>>
>>31473068
>>31473125
Though...it would be cool and totally in character to start grabbing some of the Shadow Dancer class features....
>>
>>31473150
I'm going to grumble just once and note that everyone yesterday had voted or switched votes to do Entangle.
>>
>>31473097

Skirmish is not listed under stealth.

...twist, twist in the wind that keeps me from doing yardwork this night!

fufufufufufufufufufu

>>31473187
so you had.

My apologies.
>>
>>31473125
Aye, I'm just saying the straight Invisibility through spells likely isn't going to present itself, we'll have to be Sneakier with our Sneak Attacks.
>>
But anyway, continuing on the discussion from the last thread: Pre-planning level 5 so we can just hop right into it when we get there.

I think we had concensus on:
+1 Stealth
+1 Acrobatics

That plus one to Stealth will net us a choice between either Sneak Attack or Skirmish. Both are relevant choices and there is a feat from Complete Scoundrel that allows advancement to both from the same class levels, depending on whether or not Arty allows that. However if he doesn't, we already have a good chunk of Sneak Attack enablers in both Sudden Strike and Vanishing Move, so in essence Sneak Attack also makes our mythic power expenditure give use more bang for our buck so to speak.
There was a good amount of agreement on the following:

+2 Persuasion
+2 Deceive
+2 Intimidate

And there was talk of taking Open Minded for our 5th level feat and using those 5 skill points to dump into Melee. The argument for it was this:

I would 100% disagree with that. It not only nets us a +5 bonus to melee, but a maxed out melee skill that we need only to upkeep, possibly a perk, probably functioning as a base unlock for other perks. If that's not what the Open Minded feat was destined for, I don't know what is.

In fact, the only other feats I'd really be suggesting over this are Metamagic feats, such as Quicken Spell, Still Spell and Silent Spell. And even then, we don't really have the MP pool yet to truly take advantage of those. So in effect, Open Minded into melee is one of our best feat choices."

As for Spell choices, I think there was some talk of grabbing something from the Psychic tree but not a whole lot else.

Oh, you!
>>
>>31473345
Agree on the skills. Against Open Minded.
Think we were looking at Demoralize since it was a bit more useful then Cause Fear, but I also suggested Chameleon for Maximum Stealth Time.

If there is a version of Nymph's Kiss that didn't require us finding a fae to hump, I'd be all for that.

Why against Open Minded, keep in mind that we don't get a stacking bonus to melee with level and we will eventually just not be able to hit things. I mean what other feat would you take. Because we sure as hell don't have the mana pool to take advantage of Quicken Spell.
>>
>>31473628
>>31473651
wait, 1 more
>>
>>31473661
Damn, not even a surge could help outside of an unlikely high roll.

>>31473667
35 is a lot of MP top work with.
But a per-level Skill point boost is much better. D&D Open Minded is basically D&D Toughness for skill points.
>>
>>31473667
Also keeping in mind that a quickened Restoration is 7 mana, which is almost half our pool on one spell. Grab Quicken at 7, Silent at 9, and Still at 11.
>>
>>31473739
>almost half our pool
You forget the Shitennou.
>>
>>31473667
This idea you have that to hit rolls in future encounters are going to be balanced on the assumption of a higher skill level that we can only attain by wasting a feat on it does not seem to be consistent with Art's personality. By which I mean that he knows what he's doing and is not an asshole.
>>
>>31473732
That's pretty much what I'm saying.

As listed in the Pathfinder SRD:

"Open Minded:

Benefit: You gain 1 skill point for every Hit Die you possess. You gain 1 skill point whenever you gain a Hit Die (such as when you gain a level). You spend these skill points as normal. You cannot exceed the normal maximum point for your level in any skill."

At 5th level that nets us 5 skill points, which we can dump into melee, and an additional skill point every level which we can use to keep melee up to spec, without sacrificing any other skills or perks. Plus, we are almost certainly going to get a perk from Melee. In addition to it quite possibly being a pre-req for other perks.
>>
>>31473804
Huh, PFRPG made Open Minded better.
I was operating under 3.5's version but was considering making it something like this. Nifty.
>>
>>31473783
I continue to ask besides metamagic, which we can grab at later levels when we can take more advantage of it, what else would you get?
>>
>>31473804
IF Artemis allows that third party Pathfinder version of the feat. In which case I'm behind that suggestion if we can't finagle a differently fluffed Nymph's Kiss.
Cause, we're all about being relatively good and love our Charisma-based skills, and more skillpoints would be great.
>>
>>31473911
See >>31473852
So yeah. That's a thing.
>>
>>31473942

Wait, which SRD is it from, I will consider the third party materials once linked for review.

Is it d20pf or is it the one on Paizo's site
>>
>>31473783
We just wrestled a bear, a bear that was much better than us at melee. Kanari is better than us.
We are going to need to put some effort into our combat skills, though I'm not in favor of the 'dump five points into it now' suggestion. Even if we took Open Minded, I'd favor putting more into Insight and Streetwise, and a couple into CQC/Melee.

Oh, Art, what does CQC do vs what Melee does for us?
>>
~I have a spell to grow entangling rose thorns, I should be able to snare them so you can purify two of them, then I’ll hit the last,~

“Rose thorns? Has dad been giving you special training?” she teases.

She really is free from her earlier burdens, to so casually joke with you now.

~No, I just embraced Earth Magic. Fire will take the entire spell out of play. Ready?~

“Ready”

>1 MP spent

She doesn’t utilize her activation, she merely is wrapped in the power of her transformation. This time she steps out of it, spinning her wand as you exert your will, a brilliant wall of sparkling light surges forward as the earth erupts in whipping and grasping binds beneath the trio’s feet.

Each of them twists, dodges, and flips through the writhing and reaching mass that surounds them and reaches almost to the height of the gate behind them, Tiger’s Dye an Hawk’s Eye are distracted as a wall of purifying light engulfs them. When it clears, they are unconscious and wrapped in your vines.

Fisheye, moving smoothly and twisting in amid the snatching vines draws a series of knives from his person. They are unfolded in each hand, like a dealt hand of cards.

Hey, now that I look directly at it, Nymph's Kiss does NOT have a prerequisite at all. Neither on the chart or the entry. Just a description that suggests 'things'.

So I think it might be on the table without finagling.
Question is, would we rather:
Have +2 on Charisma Skills and and extra skillpoint per-level starting now.
Have a skillpoint per hit-die (if Artemis allows it)
Cast spells faster when needed at increased cost.

The third party Open Minded is retroactive, so we could take that one later without losing out. And the D&D one doesn't care when we take it. But taking a per-level now with other bonuses seems to pay off more.

>die roll for Fish Eye's end of round challenge for your Entangle, so give me another 1d20+4

Your sister in the ballgown takes a wide stance and focuses on creating a brilliant pinpoint of energy between her palms. This consumes her concentration as you charge forward and leap toward Fisheye through the twisting tendrils of your spell. Grasping at the blue haired man, he sidesteps and rebuffs your grapple attempt before taking a single step away from you and unleashing a flurry of thrown knives at you. Two thrown in a single swipe of his left hand shoot past you harmlessly and wide, while the last thrown from his right finds purchase in your shoulder.

It embeds itself to the hilt and you bleed profusely, and it hurts worse than the burning point did just yesterday.

Because we're trying to be support, the Scouts have piles of heavy hitting, but we know they need someone doing the leg work, ie us.
Also, with stealth, shadows, and lies we can get the drop on a lot of opponents, we don't need huge bonuses, just need to catch them flatfooted, OR sic the Shitennou on them and/or use our Rage to even the field.
We don't need a Massive point investment in combat, we have ways to be effective in combat. Particularly when we need those points elsewhere.

>>31475564
Rage means we can't cast spells, which, until we get a feat/perk that lets us do so, is kinda pointless unless we KNOW we can mess them up. Like this is exactly my point. Currently, with Rage and Shintennou, we get an additional +2 for a total of +6 on attack rolls and a -8 to an opponents AC at the cost of being able to support. That still means we would have needed at least an 11 versus shadow-bitch. That's a less than 50-50 chance. And that's unacceptable.
>>
>>31475490
Change Intimate for Deceive and we might be able to agree on that. We seem to get a lot more use out of lying and diplomacy.
I might suggest +2 Melee and +1 Streetwise, but if 2 v 3 is a deal breaker, I'd probably just go along.
>>
>>31475659
>And that's unacceptable.

I'm worried slightly about the fey side effect. How would that effect us, you know, being human?

organizing my thoughts for the next update

Fish Eye takes control and maintains
You take control of the grapple and pin Fish eye.
Fish Eye fails to break pin
You hold fish eye
You hold fish eye

>>
>>31476310
I'm down with that setup.

Spell-wise, I like Demoralize over Daze, no HD limit and can effect an area.
Call to Mind, if we started taking knowledge/academic skills like Magic/Geomancy it could be useful, but we don't have any of those right now.
Conceal Thoughts could be useful, particularly if we want to try going Deep Cover.
I'll add Chameleon to the list for epic Stealth rolls.

Shadow's Kiss [Shadow]

By maintaining an intimate relationship with your Shadow, you gain some of the characteristics of the Dark Lady.

Benefit
Shadow creatures regard you as though you were one of them. You gain a +2 circumstance bonus on all Charisma-related checks, and a +1 bonus on all saving throws against spells and spell-like abilities. Starting with the level when you take this feat, you gain 1 extra skill point per level.

Fisheye is shocked and still, unable to react beyond leaning to the right as the tendrils of your spell lance forward and colide and tangle in on themselves and fall short of entrapping Fisheye. Usa charges through, the front of her dress raised in her hands.

“Sister, are you-”

~I’ve got this!~

You dive at the silent fisheye and the grapple is joined. At first he rebuffs you, but does not end the grapple as he tries to lay hands upon your neck. Flipping him you pin him and hold him there as the magic courses through you and eventually courses through the figure beneath you.

>3 Mp Spent

>Shadow Possession Removed from Fish Eye.

The darkness fades from Fisheye’s eyes. He looks around in a panic and makes rather girly terrified sounds.

“Shh...its okay, Fisheye,” your sister kneels down next to your purified foe and lays a hand on her cheek.

Rising from your pin, you regard Fisheye carefully and dismiss your still active spell. He sits up with tears in his eyes and cries to Usa about what has happened to his Lord Helios before again turning to regard you.

“My Lady, who is she?” Fisheye narrows his eyes, warily.

Wait, how did he know you were.

“Oh don’t look so shocked. It’s all in the hips, honey.” Fish eye sighs.

How do you answer Fisheye?

“Don’t worry, my friend, this person is-” your sister begins but you-

There is a certain joy in nudging an idea down a hill and watching it pick up momentum. Thanks for organizing the leg work and concensus, Melee Guy.
I'm glad I suggested we talk about leveling yesterday, though for a bit there I thought it would end in tears when we all seemed to be disagreeing, but it seems to have paid off.
>>
~I’m a friend of Sailor Crystal Moon, and an ally of the New Scouts. You can call me Eclipse~ you are having far too much fun with the secretive identity bit. The character again gets away from you as you become the roll.

~We'll do what we must to rescue Helios, what can you tell us about what has happened here?~ you move to the two unconscious members of the Amazon trio.

They’re just unconscious, breathing and there is no pull from them on your hunger. Nothing damaged and no significant nocks from your thorns.

“Alright then. If the White Lady vouches for you, and you seek to help my lord,” he rises with Sailor Crystal Moon’s aid, “Lord Helios was beset by a man from the waking world, dressed in black and enamaled studded light armoring. He was dragged through a portal...but returned quickly,”

He breathes in sharply and bites down on the end of his thumb in frustration.

“He was injured and without the crystal. Claimed to have escaped...but that was not my gentle Lord Helios. One by one, he got us alone and put his blood into our dream mirrors...then…”

She cries into Sailor Crystal Moon’s shoulder. Your sister looks up at you with a new resolve in her eyes.

Silently, you turn toward the blown out gate. Beyond the gouge the castle beckons.

-

She sleeps in front of you, its only been a few minutes but you had to come check on her anyway. Something draws your nose, the coppery scent of blood. Taking your human form, you follow the scent to a wound in her shoulder.

Eyes going wide, you run from the room to get Usagi. Something isn’t right in the world of dreams, and Mikage and probably Usa are in danger.

End of Thread.

Worth noting that at lvl five this summons a +1 weapon

Skills to learn at later levels?
Drive
Linguistics (english)
>>
>>31478946
this looks really good
>>
>>31479399
>>31478946
Except for the whole, yknow, it's a shadow weapon and we're fighting shadows

Plus I'm not sure we should be so eager to let our shadow gain an inch just so we can have a magic sword.
>>
>>31479422
I'd call that a plus, actually. A shadow sword vs shadows may not need to worry about disbelieving it, since it is real to them.

And our shadow is us now, not that making a magic sword out of shadow would effect that either way.

>>31478946
A decent choice for our next 1st level spell.

Skills to learn later?
I'm going to say Academics (Magic & Geomancy). We need to now more about the forces we are dealing with, there is some serious mojo on the enemy side.

Drive, drive could be useful. Though if we can learn the teleportation knack our Generals used to use all the time, that use be super useful.
>>
>>31479422
We have darkvision, fangs, can smell negative emotions, and have running commentary.
Pretty sure we're past inches, might as well get a magic sword out of it.
Also it counts as a regular weapon, by RAW it should damage shadows just fine. And even if they're incorporial it has fifty percent chance... which is fifty percent more than our knife.
>>
>>31478006
>The Claw has Chosen
The Claw! It Moves! You have been chosen by the claw!
>>
>>31479803
I'm more concerned with it doing only 1 point of damage to folk that make their will save. Though with Sneak Attack and First Draw Strike that could still add up, just not very efficient unless we're short on weapons.
I am curious to see what Senshi modifiers Art might make to it though, might balance out those concerns.

>>
Might as well keep the pre-planning train going,
Next Senshi level I think we get to increase an attribute by 2 and another path power. No idea if we get spells though.
Ability score could be tricky.
Agility for to-hit, damage, and armor class.
Intellect for another training point.
Will for better will saves. Which seem to be important.

>>31484920
If we can, Legendary Item might not be a bad choice.
In addition, Shadow Stealth also seems good.
>>
>>31485643
>>31484920
Take the Upgradeable, Adriot(First Strike Draw)[If Possible], Powerful and Shapechange (if Adroit First Strike Draw isn't possible), possibly using our flip knife as a base for it.
>>
>>31485643
>>31485729
>>31484920
Ability Score is also good. Either Dex for more to hit and bonuses to stealth and stuff, or Int for more training points.

Another alternative is Feather Step gives us some pretty crazy maneuverability options and could work well if we ever unlock Skirmish.

I honestly like the idea of the Legendary Item more because it could be really easily fit in with this whole Golden Crystal thing.
>>
>>31484121
It's happening RIGHT NOW, I'm awake, and it's cloudy as fuck so there's nothing to see.

I'd snap a picture for yas otherwise.
>>
>>31485810
>>31485729
>>31485643
Meh,I'd rather work with whatever items are in game already than burn an option for special abilities on it.
>>
>>31484920
I'd lean toward Will.
Though the other two are tempting.

Tempting options:
Trickster - Feather Step (can move on things that can support our weight- like water), Fickle Attack (1s on damage instead count as highest number), Mirror Dodge (expend power to be missed by an attack)
Universal - Divine Source (the spell-like casting of tier number of spells from chosen domains alone would be worth it), Sleepless (More time to do our thing. Also, could still nap to fight dream crime, don't require sleep, not can't sleep).

In theory we could reach into other heroic paths as well with Trickster, though Trickster and Universal paths seem more relevant to our interests.
>>
Yes, continue to contemplate Mikage's advancement. This is awesome. Good morning, up and on my phone. Busy day so as of now, no plans to post the training options today.
>>
>>31488841
What does Will get us? I mean, none of our primary skills or attacks use will. The only thing we have to worry about with will is the vampire shenanigans.

If we're not doing Ability Score then I'd say either Feather Step or Shadow Stealth
>>
>>31488246
Legendary Power: All legendary items contain a pool of power—at least two uses that recharge each day. This power is called legendary power, and it works differently than mythic power. Any creature bearing the item can expend the items uses of legendary power, whether or not that creature is mythic. These uses of legendary power can be expended only to activate the legendary item's abilities. If the item's bearer isn't bonded to the item, she can expend the item's legendary power only to use its legendary surge ability.

Legendary Surge: All legendary items have a legendary surge ability, similar to a mythic character's surge ability. It can be used only on specific rolls or checks based on the nature or purpose of the legendary item—see the Legendary Surge sidebar.

The legendary surge ability allows the bearer to add the result of a d6 to the appropriate type of roll or check. A mythic bearer can use her surge die type in place of the d6. If she's bonded to the item, she can increase that die type by one step.

Surge Types:

Weapons: Attack rolls and combat maneuver checks made while using the weapon.

Abilities:
Adroit: Choose a single skill that can be augmented by the item's legendary surge.

As a swift action, the item's bonded creature can expend one use of legendary power to gain a +20 insight bonus on the next check she attempts with that skill before the end of her turn. The item must have a legendary surge that augments skill checks to have this ability. It totally makes sense for a weapon to have this one.

cont.
>>
>>31490691
Upgradable: This ability grants the bonded creature the ability to more easily increase the non-mythic magical power of the legendary item. If the base magic item has a version with a higher bonus or greater version (such as a +1longsword, a +2 light steel shield, a cloak of protection +3, an amulet of might fists +4, or a minor ring of inner fortitude), the bonded creature can improve it by performing a special ritual. She must spend a number of gold pieces equal to half the difference between the cost of the legendary item's current, non-mythic base item and the greater version she wishes to upgrade the item into. For example, she would pay 3,000 gp to upgrade a +1 longsword into a +2 longsword. This ritual takes 8 hours. When it's completed, the bonded creature transmutes the item's base version into the desired version. When upgraded in this fashion, the legendary item retains all legendary item abilities it had before the transmutation.

Powerful: An item with this ability has two additional uses of legendary power per day. This ability can be taken up to three times. The item must be a minor or major artifact to take this a second time, and a major artifact to take this a third time. This is a persistent ability.

Shape Change: The item can change its shape into one other form of the same size.
>>
>>31488841
>Divine Source (the spell-like casting of tier number of spells from chosen domains alone would be worth it)
The tricky part is what domains?
In terms of words that sound right 'Earth, Shadow, or Protection' sound good, but the actual domains don't match up as well. Darkness and Resurrection might be decent choices.

>>31490619
You misunderstand, we have an ability score raise coming just from hitting 4th tier regardless of anything else. I wouldn't want to burn a special ability choice on that.

>>31490691
I know what options are available, I'm just not in favor of using up a special ability choice on it. There's enough magic widgets in setting already for us to look into.
>>
>>31490776
Ah, still, point stands, I'd rather go for Agility or Int over will. Gets us more.

As for selection. I hadn't considered it but Divine Source would allow Kairi to aid us and keep her away from....desperate measures.
>>
>>31490776
>>31490929
And Divine Source would probably instead give Path selection, and it would be Earth, Shadow and Moon.
>>
>>31490951
Maybe, we might need to ask how Art would adapt it.
Besides the possible path granting though, being able to use one 1st, 2nd,3rd, and 4th level spell per day as a spell-like ability (no verbal, somatic, or material component, and 1 standard action) has amazing usefulness. The spell list attached to it may vary the usefulness, but any way you slice it, that's a solid boon.

>>31490929
I favor Will since we need it for resisting influence, stress, spells, mind-control, shadows, etc.
There have been a lot of Will rolls that we've needed good rolls on to get by. Fortunately we rolled well on most and Surged others, we bombed at least one but we managed to turn it around.
>>
>>31491148
Int or Agility gets us more useful stuff, and like you said, we have Surge if we REALLY need to bomb a roll.
>>
>>31491371
>>31491148
Will is also for our Spell DCs that opponents need to beat. Right now it is not a hard number to beat.
>>
>>31491440
That's a fair point, but that improves with Spell level. I still say Int or Agility since Int gives us MOAR SKILLS and Agility makes our attacks hit easier, hit harder, makes us harder to detect makes it easier for us to avoid being hit, makes it so we can avoid AOOps easier, etc, etc. Charisma makes it so we can disguise ourselves easier, persuade people easier, intimidate people easier, and now with First Draw Strike, hit people harder. Will only improves our spell DC and our resistance to effects. So Agi>Int>Cha>Will
>>
I wonder if Artemis would let us take Parry Spell, but allow us to do it at range if we use a rose for the parry?
>>
>>31491988
Potentially. We might need Improved Counterspell for that though.
>>
>>31492099
Parry Spell blocks with a weapon attack roll, rather than counter spell. I trick we've seen a certain rose thrower use a lot. Also, we still need to get more roses.
Note to self: Remember to pick some roses on the way to the castle.
>>
>>31490722
I'd suggest waiting until we have a magic item to improve in this way.
>>

You know, I totally forgot we could take Psychic feats. Still happy with our choice this time around, but we should try to remember that, there are some decent feats in that direction.

Think I may need a better idea of what Deceptive Attack (Social) and Knight's Challenge (Social) do. Thought I had a decent guess, but now I'm unsure.

Ooohh.... Skirmish...
>>
>>31504794
Aye, but are these specifically social-combat only versions?

Am I correct interpreting Path of Secrets as Sneak Attack for Social damage?
>>
>>31505089
Deceptive attack is a social sneak attack.

Secrets is unarmed strike
>>
>>31505195
Ah. I got that a bit incorrect.
>>
>>31505195
Think I'd go with Path of Secrets. Looks to be the better pay-off, less set-up than Deceptive Attack and is a big increase to the die (presuming a monk-like progression).
>>
>>31502455
Im leaning
> dodge and grace
> path of secrets or illusions
And
> path of the leader

Divine source would fit well with leadership...
I can picture mikages face the first time someone tries worshiping her...
Though i am afraid that we are playing right into arts hands... mikage, glorious and terrible Shadow Queen of all the Earth yeah that could be a thing later down the road if we're not careful to keep our inevitable ABSOLUTE DOMINION OF EARTH benevolent.
>>
>>31506680
My votes:
Path of the Leader
Path of Secrets
Path of Evasive Dodging (though I'm not opposed to the other two, and we haven't had any threats in this category yet.. but having an agile character without evasion just seems wrong)

I am amused that we aren't even questioning what the Leader one is, just nodding at it and giving it the thumbs up.

>keep our inevitable ABSOLUTE DOMINION OF EARTH benevolent
More thumbs up.

Alnog with a certain feeling of irony that I could picture Mikage accepting the ruling aspect, while Usa would rather avoid that part.

>Persuasion - 1: Knight's Challenge (Social). 2: Path of the Orator. 3: Path of the Leader

Could some explain what each of these skills actually do? I'm feeling pretty lost with them.
>>
>>31502455
Acrobatics: Path of Skirmish. Seriously guys, we take this, we won't ever need to worry about damage ever again.

I'm leaning towards Illusion Magic for Deceive because Invisibility but I can deal with not having it.

For Persuasion I need to know what Knight's Challenge does first.
>>
>>31507188
>>31507363
Well, Knight's Challenge (Social) is like the Knight's Knight's Challenge ability, but for Social Combat.
http://dndtools.eu/classes/knight/

We don't know specifically what the other two do, but one deals with talking to groups, the other with leadership in some way.
So we go Path of the Leader.
>>
>>31507445
Wait...if...if I'm reading this right Knight's Challenge (Social) is COME AT ME BRO, the character feature.
>>
>>31507497
Except this is more DEBATE WITH ME BRO.
Which is kinda neat, but doesn't seem to offer us much with just social combat.
>>
>>31507363
Any way, let's run down these choices:

Acrobatics:
-Dodge and Grace is pretty good, and if we can get it later I'd definitely recommend it, but right now our defenses are fine as are, and we're working in support of a group in most of our combat situations.

-Evasive Dodging is kind of irrelevant with effective use of the Shintennou, so if we can pick up these character options later, we should pick this up once we start to get rid of them if we choose to.

-Skirmish: This is an additional stacking damage bonus that stacks with both Sneak Attack and First Strike Draw focus, in addition it has different enablers than either of the other two. Thus taking this gives us three different sources of bonus damage, basically meaning we are never without bonus damage. In addition it's very fitting for the combat style we've selected so far.

My Choice: Skirmish

Deceive: Oh man, this is tough. Ok.
Path of Secrets: Given the amount of effort that would go into finding social ammo, being able to engage in social combat without having to do a lot of leg work and still be able to do a sizable chunk of damage is pretty awesome. I never turn down a stacking damage buff.

Path of Deceptive Attack: This is also interesting, though not as good as Path of Secrets. It seems like it would be harder to drag someone into a situation where they would be caught off guard socially. In addition it really doesn't seem like Mikage's style.

Illusion Magic Path: I want to say this, I want to say this so bad. And if it starts leaning toward this I'm more than willing to have my vote be for this. But we can't afford to not take Path of Secrets for the social combat aspect.

My choice: Path of Secrets

Persuasion:

With not much being known about these two, I'll go over what we do know.

Path of the Leader: Fuck yea Leadership

Path of the Orator: Fuck yea Bard shit.

Knight's Challenge (Social): This is basically "Debate Me Bro!" Not really useful right now.

Thanks Artemis.

Looking at sheet gave me a few ideas/questions.

Drain shadow says we can draw tainted blood instead of emotional damage. So what would happen if we used it on Venus?

Do we have a reason why we aren't using force screen when we fight or is it just something we forgot? Does it like stop us from attacking or something?

Moonbeam. While we have Usa handy, this might be a good time to find out what that 'see your QM' business is all about.
>>
>>31517219
We forget Force Screen while charging into situations. We should try remembering it before heading up to the castle.

I think Drain Shadow it is referring to Shadow tainted blood.

As for Moonbeam, I'd rather save that for a dramatic moment.

>>31515852
Nice, all and all, pretty happy with our choices.
>Heroe's Luck
Is that a typo or a name?

Also, I think we're up to 5 hours on the Disguise Den now.

>>31514058
I'm not sure.
>Tomoe: I am not presently attached exclusively, but I am at present dating and searching for someone special. (Defeated sigh) It is frustrating.
Does seem like she's very serious about anyone. Maybe there's an heir to Saturn bouncing around that we don't know about? From the other future perhaps?

Then I blink as I realize the unintroduced and lost scouts of that timeline, or their heirs, might be reincarnating in that future over the last few years. This concept intrigues me.

>>
>>31517712
Well, very nice gentlemen. Alright back to what we discussing before we got our character feature options.

Mythic Tier 4 stuff.

At Tier 4 we get a +2 Ability Score.

There was talk of Agility, Intellect, Will and Charisma.

All of these have legitimate reasoning behind taking them.

Agility will give us an additional +1 to hit, +1 to damage, +1 to AC +1 to Acrobatics, and Stealth . In addition it will get us to where we can put a +1 into it at level 8 for an additional +1 to hit, +1 damage, +1 to AC, +1 to Acrobatics, and Stealth. Always good.

Intellect will net us an additional skill point. This honestly seems like the weakest option, as much as I love extra skills.

Will would net us additional MP, possibly Additional Spells, make our Spells harder to resist, and give us an additional bonus versus most mind affecting effects, and makes resisting vamp urges easier.

Charisma affects a large chunk of our skills.
>>
>>31520335
Will would also increase our Social Defense (AC).
Didn't think about MP or spells before, good point.

A note in Intellect's favor though, since we're doing this Pathfinder style, all increases are retroactive. In other words, we'd get 5 more points to work with.
>>
>>31520335
Out of Path abilities there were several options being discussed:

Shadow Stealth: We can be super mobile while remaining in stealth, in addition being able to teleport from dark spot to dark spot is nothing to sneeze at. However, we have drastically increased our personal combat capability quite a bit this level already.

Feather Step: Also super mobility, but also allows us to go and be places where other people won't normally be able to follow. Potentially useful for getting the senshi out of trouble when they are inevitably captured.

Divine Source: Gives us 4 spell like abilities from a selection of domains that we can grant followers. This would allow us to give Kairi the ability to help us more without resorting to...drastic measures.

Legendary Item: This seems like a really, really, really good option...once we have a Magic item to use it on.
>>
>>31520582
Didn't think about the retroactive skills. Good point. I would argue there for a +3 to Melee and a +2 to Intimidate if we do take that. That would give us all the skills that were wanted when we leveled up.
>>
>>31520722
Also, looking at the Spell Points rules (still somewhat confusing, having never played with them before), we wouldn't get extra spells and we wouldn't get the extra Spell Points until 5th level spells and it would only be an additional 8 SP over all, which is a drop in the ocean.
>>
Planning now is good, but I will say that baring circumstances that are NIGH IMPROBABLE you have a lot of work to do before you break past the hurdle into tier 4.
>>
>>31520722
If we did take Int, I'd be willing to agree with that spread. I'd be pushing for Streetwise and Insight next level though.

>>31520639
I like Divine Source for the spell-likes. No word on how being a source would work in Artemis' system though.

Legendary should wait until we have something decent to improve.

Other suggestions:
Sleepless - Don't require sleep, Immune to sleep effects.
Sustained by Faith - Don't require food, water, or sleep. May spend a planet power to not need to breathe for 24 hours.
Parry Spell - Spend power to parry spell targeting you or melee range. Need to find way to do that with thrown roses at a range.
Adamantine Mind - Tier bonus vs mind-effects. Originator must save vs same DC or be dazed by your awesome not giving of fucks. If this can apply to social combat, that would be pretty funny to see.
Draw Fire - Be target of ranged attack instead of ally.
Concentrated Barrage - Spend power and allow 2 allies to make a ranged attack on the target you indicate. Doesn't count against their turn or actions.
Confidence - Use surge three times a day with using Planet Power.
Imprinting Hand - Know target's weaknesses and be able to locate them within a mile of you. Effect lasts until a new target of the ability is selected.
Impossible Speed - Outrun a vespa easily.
Fleet Warrior - Like Pounce/Mobility but way better. Can Full Attack and Move, or Move and Full Attack. Suggested strategy: Charge attack and Skirmish for maximum mobility combat.
Enduring Armor - constant force armor 3+Tier.
Elemental Bond - If we could get this as a link to Shadow plane instead of an Elemental plane, this would be perfect for us. Bump to caster level and damage resistance regarding bonded element.
Master of Shadows - You and allies roll twice and take best of for Stealth checks (would this mean Mikage rolls three times with her Stealth perk?)
Words of Hope - spend power and allies can roll twice and take best of once a round for half-tier rounds. Pretty cool.

>>31521767
In the proper Trickster end of the pool, there's still:
Mirror Dodge - Spend power to not be hit.
Enhance Magic Item - Would really like to see the effect that has on magic widgets in the setting.
Nimble Glide - i mention it because it seems our dad had it. He can just leap up and glide away into the night.
This Might Just Work - cut down on extra skills. Maybe use Academics for Magic Lore or Acrobatics for Motorcycle. We'd still want points in some things for perks, but cuts down on a lot of side interest spending.

Remember to cast Force Screen for once.
Look for Roses on the castle grounds.
Try to Attune to the Golden Crystal half.
Might as well cast Conceal Thoughts as well in case we need it, lasts for hours.
Standing Plan B, bust out disguise as Dark Lady, impersonate Usa's shadow, lure Helios dropping his guard long enough to drape our arms on him, nuzzle his neck, and DRAINDRAINDRAIN. Is good to have backup plan in mind, no?

>>31525023
Any thoughts on how you would interpret Divine Source in you system and the setting?
We've had a few guesses, but really we're just spitballing ideas. Maybe granting path access to associates, maybe domains, should we be looking at regular D&D/PRPG domains, etc.
Could dad teach us how to parry spells with thrown roses?
Would Enhance Magic Item have an effect on typical magic items in our setting (crystals, transformation items/wands/brooches, pens, etc)?

Hmmm....where's the other half of the Golden Crystal?

>>
>>31539483
Well, it's not like Maru isn't one of the good guys. Everything about him indicates that he intends to be a hero, even if he dies or gets stuffed in a fridge for trying. It's just that he also has a 3-inch depleted uranium rod lodged in his ass. I'll take any excuse to knock him down a peg.

From an Operations Standpoint, Magician was the first time PIT really mobilized since the Climax of Usa's story. The monsters & rules were different, and they were still developing their protocols. They were a great help in stopping Magician's Penultimate action, turning all the city into monsters, but early on thy just got torn apart.

Given the effect it has on most people, we should do a check for suffering from inexplicable illness starting from that time. Streetwise might help, but we may need to go through Dr. Tome for a proper medical search. That makes a couple things we should see her about now.
Is feeling apprehensive about having to see our cold-shoulder trainer odd?
Though Usa did say some things that may make us see that cold shoulder in a different light than we did before.
..and there were only 5 figures in the vision, so it might be safe to associate with the outer senshi. Though we should try to maintain as much operational security as we can still.
Could go with a step of mysterious and see her as Eclipse with Usa vouching for us. But those samples need to be examined and Golden half needs to be found. For our sake and that of whomever got stuck with it.

While rambling about planning, we should make plans for Eclipse to have a chat with a certain girl about a certain Queen and the problem of focusing on one prince.

Wonder if we could get caught up in some kind of alternate timeline Another Story plot.
I wonder how well distant-future dream-Elysium is doing after centuries of mankind in stasis and/or mostly dead.. along with most of the universe. If that Helios is still there, man.. Saying that had to suck would be a massive understatement.
If shadowruns about new-reincarnations of various scouts popping up in that timeline ring true, we'd likely be the right age range to befriend, find, or train them.

I'd love to do time travel. Anything Mikage dislikes so much is sure to yield pure hilarity.
