>Introduction & Summary:

You are Katja Hartkern, 30-Something Year-old Virtual Grandmaster of Kyokugen Karate and officially registered competitor in "The King of Fighter's: Infinite Match" alongside Yuri Sakazaki & King... Though with little over a week away until the start of the tournament proper, you're sitting at the bar of South Town's famed "Pao Pao Cafe No.1" considering settling a matter of personal pride, as the fabled "Man in Black" Andrew Draco has challenged you to fight him.

It could be the cap on an emotional roller-coaster of a day & night for you, as you had only just gotten back from "The Infinite Waltz" held just outside of town as a curtain-raiser for the tournament your "Women's team" is set to compete in, bur also because you had spent the last hour soothing Mai Shiranui's conscience with the help of "Blue Mary" Ryan (As she had opened up to the fact that her so-called "Knight in Shining Armor", Andy Bogard, had accused her of cheating on him... With Draco, of all people), though on the other hand you're in a dress you'd rather not get destroyed from fighting as well as the fact that you might be just a tad too tipsy to really challenge him seriously...

"Well? What's it gonna be?" Draco asks you, his wild black hair, bushy beard and sunglasses creating a fairly unique profile amongst the patrons in the cafe (And in South Town in general) as stare at him, "Zoning out" more than trying to look intimidating.

Let's kick this off with a vote, shall we?

>A. Tell him that you're ready and fight Andrew Draco.

>B. Decline his offer, telling him that "I'll see ya' in the finals".

>C. Shrug, then admit that you want to wait just a tad in case the slight "Buzz" you're feeling

>D. Decline, then head over to lady's bathrooms and tell Mary & Mai that you're leaving before walking back to "The Imperial" Hotel in the dark...

Gotta play it cool, because we know that if he fucked up Andy Boagrd as badly as he did, he's not one to take this fight lightly... (And yeah, I know out-of-character that Kazunori Kazahaya & Jean-Claude Gabriel helped him out during that fight, but Katja doesn't know that... Right?)

We're Drunk & Angry, while Draco's already sorta warmed up; Fighting him would just lead us to getting our ass handed to us IMHO.

"Y'know what mate?" you ask him in a belated reply, takng one last sip of your bottle of beer before slam the bottle down on the bar-top (Faceful not to break it though)." Yeah. Let's fuckin' go!"

Draco grins an almost wolf-like grin as he says "OK then..." before taking one last sip of his soda, then leading you out to the back of the cafe, towards the now-familiar "Fighting Stage" as the lights start to slowly dim, Draco using the time to put on an oddly-familiar "Faceless" wrestling mask.

"Just one thing to ask before we do this: Are you going to fight me like I'm a man? or like I'm a monster? Because I can tell you right know that I'm better at being a monster than you'll EVER hope to be" Draco asks in a noticably "Darker" voice as the two of you do stretches, seemimgly trying to psyche each other out as the announcer from before steps up with a microphone, a spotlight

You don't answer his question directly at first, instead letting the fact that you're even following him out to be enough of answer for him as he finishes before you do... Which is when you tell him "Mate, all I'm interested in doin' right now is hookin' you in the gabba and making this a rumble that'll make your nan sore jus' hearin' 'bout it" with a cheeky grin as the announcer checks his microphone, dialing out the feedback and the "Hot" sounds it has as he clears his throat.

"OKAY! Next fight of the night is UNDER WAY!" He yells, the voice of either Mary or Mai yelling "What the Fuck?" in the background getting drowned out by the announcer introducing draco as "Mr. X", a spotlight shining on him as the announcer COMPLETELY butchers your name...
>>
>>31491790

You stare at his mask a little bit longer as the lights come up again, no real music going for some odd reason as you SWEAR that you've seen it somewhere before as the two of you slowly walk to the center of the so-called "Stage", Draco/"Mr. X" offering a gloved hand to bump fists with...

You take a good, fairly long stare at him, then sock him in the face with a "Ha'oh Raijinken", then start to unload on him with a 4-Hit string of punches and kicks, finishing off with a "Raijin Lightning Rush" to knock him down and away from you.

"Y'think so fuckin' bad? Huh!? Ya' kangaroo with a shitty-lookin' beard?" you yell as he slowly gets up, his eyes seemingly glowing through his helmet-like mask as he does some a few quick stretches, seemingly to taunt you as you rush in after him, your foot outstretched in a "Hien Shippu Kyaku"...

However, "Mr. X" grabs your foot and does a Judo Flip of his own to launch you back into the corner. Though you recovery-roll out of it, you have to block low at the "Standing Wind Slicers" "Mr. X" throws out at you, each one feeling a bit like an overly-sharp butter knight trying to cut through your arms as he tries to rush towards you with an aerial assault, another strong "Wind Slicer" trying to cut through you... However, he seems to linger in the air and you hit him with a "Strong Kohou" as he falls back down, the trail of electricity hitting him more than your fist as he doesn't try to do a "Recovery Roll" while you land slightly awkwardly, your balance not quite back to you as you stumble a little and he seemingly springs back up and hits you with a string of kicks, then lands a "Buzzsaw Cutter" to knock you back and away from him as you land fairly hard on the floor, "Mr. X" launching a single "Standing Wind Slicer" at you as you wonder whther it's safer to try and get up to block it or just stay on the ground in case it harmlessly goes over you (As it doesn't quite hit the ground itself, travelling along Mr. X/Draco's arc of his arm instead)...

Ranbuu, because we need to end this fight ASAP and I don't think that the other attacks have the built-in speed to combo off the OTG throw IMHO.

You lay down on the ground as "Mr. X's" projectile harmlessly flies over you, giving you an opportunity to try and throw him with a Tani Otoshi and catch him off-guard by the fact that you're flat on your back and close enough to really make a go at grabbing him.

Though he seemingly takes the bait you had set and tries to slide towards your feet, you spring up to your feet and fall forward, grabbing Mr. X out of his attack and doing your own take on a Judo-inspired flipping throw before landing on your feet as he briefly flies through the air... Which is precisely when you decide to take one hell of a risk by running towards Mr. X, betting on the idea that he'll try to do a mid-air recovery by landing a Ryuuko Ranbuu on him, intent on ending this fight sooner rather than later...

Amazingly, your plan worked to perfection as while Mr. X recovered to get back on his feet, you're lightning-fast speed was too much for him to try and block your incoming barrage of punches and kicks, unconsciously yelling "ORAORAORAORAORAORAORAORA!" just like you had when you had fought him over three months ago before finishing your "Normal" 13-Hit combination with a "Strong" Kohou, sending him skyward as you stop to take a breath, a grim feeling of satisfaction as you watch him struggle to get back up after that...

"You were tougher back when I fought ya' last time!" you yell as you look around to see Mai & "Blue Mary" looking on, not quite sure of what to make of you fighting "Mr. X" and gaining the upper hand so easily.

"Wot? He WANTED to fight me" you reply as the announcer/referee steps in to start "Counting" Mr. X out...

Despite the feeling in your gut, you decide to try to tune everything out for a moment: The crowd cheering you on, Blue Mary & Mai Shiranui possibly talking shit/chastising you for fighting Andrew Draco (AKA "Mr. X"), the announcer giving Draco a boxing-style "Count-Out"... All of it seemingly washes away from your mind as you close your eyes and try to concentrate on yourself, your mind and body buzzing from the excitement of possibly putting "Mr. X" down for the win.

Slowly, you can feel your health and vigor restore itself as you tap into your inner Ki, feeling that it's rather... "Restless?" "Unrestrained?" "Intermittent?" Or simply "Ill at Ease?" as you try to channel and possibly calm it down, the sound of the Referee/Announcer feeling as though it came from inside of a goldfish bowl filled with water as you take a few breaths, then feel MUCH better as you open your eyes just in time to see "Mr. X" get up and talk to the ref/announcer, then quietly walk out of the fighting stage and head for the Men's Room.

"Ladies, it has come to my attention that the current champion, Mr. X. has officially conceded the current..." the announcer states over the microphone as you can't quite believe that Draco would quit so easily... But you shake smile when the announcer speaks up and yells "Your winner, the challenger... KAT-SHAAAAAAAAA HARTKARN!", raising a fist in the air as you try to ignore the announcer butchering your name AGAIN as Mary & Mai head over.

"That was a hell of a shocker" Mary says as she pats you on the back like the old friend you'd honestly like to be. "How'd it go? We only just got out to catch the finish..."

"Well, It's kind of hard to say" you truthfully admit, not wanting to tell her that you started attacking before the match officially started just yet as you look around to see if Draco's come out of the bathroom just yet, an awful feeling in your gut as part of you wants to ell Mary that you might need her to act as a bodyguard of-sorts for a night...

You put that thought in the back of your mind for a moment as you tell Mary & Mai "I'dunno, I guess it was somethin' he said to me that got me goin': "Are you going to fight me like I'm a man? or like I'm a monster?" you start to explain, thoughMai cuts you off for a second.

"So you let your inner edge loose, huh?"

"Nah, just showed'em that I'm no monster. I'm Australian..." you reply, then admit "If he fights like THAT in the tournament though he better stick to racin' cars and bikes..."

"He told you about that, huh?" Mai asks as you walk back to the bar with her ad Mary.

"Not really, just had a chance to look at the front page of nearly every paper this mournin' and saw his ugly mug on it" you reply, again looking around to see if Draco's come out of the bathroom yet...

Mary sighs and says "Yeah... Sucks that the press 'round here picked up on him because he's a local doing well", hinting at the fact that "The Paragon Group" own one of South Town's leading newspaper publishers as you grab your jack and fold it on your lap.

You nod at that as Mai curiously puts a hand on your shoulder, then softly starts to tell you "Thanks for the gesture and all, but" with a whisper, though she stops when you glare at her for just a second too long...

Make sure to note that Katja has her own beef with Draco. That said, Katja will be the bigger woman here, even though Mai's been a bitch to her for, like, 75% of the quest. Plus, Mai brought this mess on herself, and Katja had to help clean it up.

You stare at Mai for a little bit longer, though you hold off giving her any harsh words just yet; Instead, you give her a hug and a slight peck on her cheek, seemingly re-affirming what she was thinking about while giving Mary a wink, her widened eyes slowly narrowing back to normal...

That's when you break away from Mai and tell her "Listen... I know you're going through some shit right now, and I'll always thank'ya for helpin' me get on the right track to being the woman I always wanted t'be and offer up advice... But let's get real 'ere: I didn't fight that guy fer'ya or somethin' like that, I did it for ME, for my own personal beef I've got with your so-called "Friend"...", pausing slighly to gather your thoughts. "But if ya' know that if you a need a place t'crash tonight or whatever, then you can always ring me up while I've still got a phone and a place t'stay, OK?"

Mai nods, then sighs and says "I know, I know..."

"Honey, if you REALLY knew, you wouldn't be here would'ya?" you ask.

Mai shakes her head and replies "No, I wouldn't... I would be with Andy", looking up into your eyes as she asks "I just know that he still loves me, even after all that's happened... Right?"

You don't answer her right away, hugging her tight for a little bit before whispering "Sure, sure... Just give him space to clear his head", fighting the urge to yell "OF COURSE he'd come crawlin' back to a complete nutter like you!" in a sarcastic voice...

You let it drop and take a long yawn, the thoughts of you verbally berating Mai vanishing as you look to Mary and ask "Y'mind if I get a ride back home now? I'm startin' to feel it after that last fight..."

Mary nods and says "OK" as you gently push Mai away from you and slip your jacket on, Mai admitting "I think... Yeah, I think I'll take you up on that offer tonight" before following you and Mary out through the Cafe and into the brisk night air.
>>
>>31509219

You lean close to Mary and whisper "I think Draco might be settin' us all up" as the three of you walk to the small parking lot out in the back o The Pao Pao Cafe, the night lights of the city feeling slightly more ominous than usual...

Mary nods and replies "You mind if I stay with you too? I want to help out and act as a "Protection Agent" and write off enough hour of it on my tax return..." as the three of you find Mary's bike & Mai's sedan (Actually Andy Bogard's, but "Oh Well" as far as Mai's concerned) in the parking lot.

You hop on after Mary kick-starts her 'bike into life, Mai starting up her car with no real trouble either as Mary says "I gotta thank you for cleaning this shit all up tonight, even if you didn't mean to" as she rides out into traffic again, Mai following her.

"Yeah... Y'think she knows that she brought this mess on herself yet?" you ask, confident that the distance you have riding as a passenger on Mary's bike would be enough to muffle anyone from trying to "Bug" you.

"I'dunno, I could never be 100% accurate about what Mai's thinking" Mary replies as you hit a stoplight. "None of us can, just like how there's a little bit of angels or devils in ALL of us."

You nod at that and just pray that you can hang on long enough to not fall asleep and fall off Mary's bike as she rides back to "The Imperial", closing your eyes at the sound of her going through the gears while riding, a short dream about what your own Triumph Thruxton will sound like after getting fitted with new exhaust pipes... Eventually, Mary taps you on the shoulder and you miraculously wake up on her bike in the middle of "The Imperial's" parking garage, Mai already out of "Her" car and waiting for the two of you...

You rub your eyes and yawn once more, then do a few more quick stretches before getting off the bike and walking towards one of the front entrances, checking in at the hotel lobby and explaining that you have guests for the night as Mary & Mai follow.

You hang around for a minute or two for Mai & Mary, then motion them to follow you as you head back up to your room and home for now, telling the girls "Feel free to crash in any beds and/or sofas y'find, use whatever covers and pillows you want and make yourself at home; I'm goin' to bed" just as the elevator door opens and the three of you walk into "Your" pad.

You look at them and take a few minutes to say your good-nights to Mai & Blue Mary. then head towards your room and start stripping down to your panties, so tired that you don't even bother to find a pair of pajamas to put on and snuggle under the covers, slowly drifting off to sleep...

>You now resume direct control of Katja Hartkern

You wake from a dreamless sleep when your alarm clock goes off an hour and a half earlier than usual, your body curiously straining to shut it off as it feels like your body's made out of interconnected stone slabs instead of limbs, a neck, a torso, an abdomen and a pelvis today... Which is when you remember your work-out from yesterday as you feel your way around your bed, slowly getting up and doing some stretches to try and get your body limber again (Audible cracks and creaks coming from your shoulders, neck and legs most of all).

However, it takes you a solid twenty minutes to even get to a point where you feel like you could do your "Warm-up" stretching routine, the smells of something wonderful wafting through your door as it feels curiously humid this morning... Which is when you spot Mai Shiranui step out of your shower clad in a slightly too-small bath towel, turning away from her as you start your warm-up stretches at half the speed you normally do them.

"Oops! Sorry... I didn't think you were up yet" she says as you shrug, your back turned as you try to hide a slight reddening of your cheeks (As while you don't particularly care for how Mai's treated you for like, 75% of the time you've known her, you can't deny her physical appeal anymore).

"Nah, it's awright... It feels like I got ran over by a truck though" you drowsily reply as you try to recall why you're alarm went off so early though...

"But it feels good doesn't it?" she asks as you continue through your routine. "You work out in the buff though?"

"Yeah, I guess so... I'm usually not privy to guests and all" you tell her as you jut your chest out and pull your arms out and back away from you.
>>
>>31518047

"You don't mind, do ya'?" you ask as you start to get into the slightly more acrobatic part of your warm-up stretches, not seemingly catching that Mai's a bit jealous (Or possibly insecure) at your topless work-out.

"Not at all" she replies as she walks out of the room, the smell of one HELL of a spread from the kitchen filling the room.

"Fuckin' 'ell girl, you keep starin' at me like that? Why WOULDN'T I at least try to be friendly?" you quietly think out loud as you transition into your normal pace, finishing up your stretching routine at just past 7:15 AM, then grab on a pair of pants and a shirt to throw on before you head out into the kitchen.

Your eyes widen at the small mountain of French Toast, Bacon, Hashbrowns, Fruit and Sweet Rolls artfully arranged around the dining table as "Blue Mary" admits "I just couldn't resist the smells from that cafe downstairs today... You don't mind that I ordered in, do you?"

"Nah, I'm gettin' this gratis from Robert" you reply, recalling the last time you tried to actually pay for a breakfast you had gotten downstairs as you grab a small plate and start munching on a couple of pieces of french toast with a few dollops of maple syrup to get that dry taste out of your mouth.

"He must really like you then" Mary replies as she finishes up her meal, then goes for a small sweet roll.

"Nah, I just think he's tryin' to make up for his sensei's wrongs" you reply in between a few syrupy bites. "It's in his character to try and make everybody happy, y'know?"

Mary nods at that, then asks "You get any calls from Seth yet? Or any from that guy down at the department?"

You pause at that, then truthfully reply "Actually... Let me go check" as you get up and walk back over to your room, grabbing your cellphone and checking through your messages and call-log as you slowly walk back out front, a missed call from a restricted number being the only thing new in either.
>>
>>31518390

You shrug at that, then sit back down at the table and tell Mary "Well, one missed call but it's probably just from a debt collector or a creditor" before starting to eat again. "I DO have to get to the highway patrol's offices soon though... Gotta get interviewed for a little bit about what happened yesterday with that mug of a driver tryin' to take us out."

Mary nods again as she finishes up her sweet roll, then says "You know which station to go to?"

You shake your head, but tell her "I know that they used Brown & Green cars and bikes though."

Mary stops for a moment, then says "Oh... OK, I can lead you to where that is if you want."

"Sure" you reply as Mai steps out in the dress that she had on last night, sitting down next to you and

"Couldn't resist either eh?"

"Well, when your both done stuffing

She nods and admits "It's the strangest thing... I've always been trying to keep my figure as girlish as possible, right? So I'd watch what I eat, count calories, whatever... But when I started training with Fiona, Tsuyako & Hatsune-Dono, I eat like a damn pig and don't gain any real weight..."

"Metabolism shift maybe? Because you look damn good" you tell her as you grab a sweet roll.

"Probably... But I keep feeling like Fiona keeps trying to turn me into looking like a miniature version of her..." Mai says as she chews on a piece of French Toast, then admits "Which is, well..."

"Not quite what you had in mind?" Mary says, before grabbing her dishes and placing them in the sink.

"Yeah, I guess... I just, I'dunno, I never thought girls like Fiona or Tsuyako were all that attractive when I was growing up" Mai replies. "My parents always wanted me to be that demure beauty... Which went out the window at like 12, maybe thirteen years old when I started getting these and this", pointing to her chest and her lovely derriere.

"A thousand years of Japanese culture at work huh?" you reply, the tell her "I always got stares when I lived in Osaka..."
>>
>>31518600

"I bet... You tower over most Japanese MEN, let alone women" she replies, then asks Mary "Is it alright if I just head out after I finish up here? I just got done talking to Hatsune-Dono and she wants me back "ASAP", whatever that is..."

"As Soon As Possible" Mary says absentmindedly, then replies "And yeah; I've got to guide Katja up to the station she's got to give a

You take a look at your phone and your eyes widen at the time, just past 7:30 as you look to Mary and ask "Could we get goin'? It's gettin' a little late to try and make it up there..."

Mary looks up at the clock, then nods nd says "I'll call ahead and tell them we'll be a little late, but it's all good if I show up with you."

"Cool" you reply, then get this nagging feeling that you should tell Mai something before you get going...

You wipe off any excess crumbs or maple syrup from your mouth before you turn to Mai and start to tell her "Listen, I know I'm gonna sound like a broken record tellin' you that I know the kinda shit you're goin' through and how rough it can be... But I do. I really do and I just, well..." you pause, taking a small amount of time to try to find the right words. "I just want to say that at times like this, ya' gotta' keep your chin up and focus on the kind of positives that could come out of somethin' like this."

"Oh yeah, REAL positive things can come out of my lover for the last ten God-damn years getting jealous of me having a male friend and DUMPING ME" Mai thinks, though she doesn't say anything as Mary quietly gets up and heads off to get dressed as you continue to try and talk to Mai, hoping that your words are having SOME kind of effect on her. "And as a possible friend to another friend? I think you need to drop whatever insecurities you have about Fiona, and Tsuyako and even me and just... Well, be yourself."

Mai nods, though she doesn't say anything as you seemingly get irritated at her "Silent Routine", though you don't quite catch that she isn't saying anything because, well, there isn't much TOO say about this already. "Look, I let you stay in tonight and clear your head over all of this because fuckin' 'ell, you, Fiona & Shermie helped me out when I was at one of the lowest points in my life and helped me start to learn how to love myself, yeah?"

"Yeah..." she meekly says, seemingly feeling worse than she had last night as the weight of your words start to press down on her conscience.

"So that's what you do; Find yourself, look towards what YOU want to have in your life now... Not what Andy Bogard wants out of you, Not what that fuck Draco wants, not what Tsuyako's mom and CERTAINLY not the press that're crackin' jokes about you and your "Image" want..."
>>
Running into connection issues Anons; Sorry for the delayed reply.

>>31523883

You get up out of your chair and do another quick stretch, then conclude by saying "But what you want. JUST what you want... I mean shit, It's worked for me since that day; When I stopped caring about what others thought of me and what I'd say, I found this kind of, well, drive to get through anything, even bein' told that what makes me, well, me in a fight was gonna kill me if I kept using it..."

"I heard about that, yeah..." she replies as you motion to follow her back to your room, mindful that you're running a little late and need to get your clothes back on a little bit sooner rather than later (Though you keep her from following you into your room, as even you prefer to have SOME privacy)...

"You know what I told that quack when he said that t'me?" you rhetorically ask Mai through the slightly cracked door while getting out your "Kangaroo Suit" Motorcycle Leathers, gloves & boots. "I said 'Listen, I respect your advice and all and I know that you know your stuff when it comes to this... But I'm not gonna lie down and slip off into the shadows like all of those kids you treated; I'm fightin' this all the way up to the deadline'... And a week later, after findin' out that it was some fucker from Jean Gabriel's group that tried to scare me off from fightin' or whatever...?"

You pause for a moment, letting the impact of your words sink in as you get ready to go, grabbing your wallet & cellphone before you ask Mai "You saw the end of the fight I had with Draco last night, right?" as you walk out of your room.

Mai nods as she replies "That was crazy how you threw him and connected that rush combination on him... But why do you ask?"

"Because if I hadn't gotten through what you had helped me with back at Shermie's? I wouldn't have had the confidence in myself to believe that I could do that last night, or the drive to push through what's happened to me" you reply.

You look at her and ask "I gotta get goin' now... I just hope that you can get through all this and sort it out without too much loss" and give her a hug, hoping that by being the "Bigger Woman" you hopefully lifted her spirits up the same way she did along with Fiona & Shermie back at "Fantastique La Femme" (Even though you "Sugar-Coated" her involvement a bit to try and emphasize how much her words meant to you).

Mai nods, then says "Thanks... It really means a lot to me that you'd say that after how much of a fucking bitch I've been to you."

You bite back the words "Damn RIGHT you should be sorry" as you gently give her a hug, then ask "We're still on for a sparrin' session this afternoon? Or tonight I guess..."

"Yeah... And best of luck to you in the tournament too" she replies, biting back a sob with a sigh as you break off the hug in just a little bit.

"No problem and yeah, same 'ere..." you reply, then yell "Oi! You ready t'go Mary?!"

"Yeah, just about!" you hear her reply as you ask Mai "One thing I was wonderin', but has Tsuyako ever really talked about her dad? Because I keep seein' this guy 'round here and there that could be like a muscled male version of her..."

"No, not really... Her mom doesn't really bring up her Ex-Husband either" she replies with a shrug.

you nod, then motion to Mai to walk out with you as Mary leads the two of you to the elevator, helmet in hand and putting it on as the three of you take the journey down to the lobby... After going through your usual check-in with the clerk at the head desk (Rigo again, looking like he had to pull three consecutive shifts), you head down to the parking lot, hop on your bike and follow Mary out, Mai behind you for a little bit before she heads off on her own, driving towards "La Illusion" as you follow Mary North...

The ride up to the proper police station was pretty uneventful, though you're glad that Blue Mary had lead the way for you and smoothed things out when you had arrived, because the SFHP's were plenty mad that you were 45 Minutes late to your scheduled questioning.

Once that was all cleared up, you had an equally uneventful session, getting a few basic questions ("Did you know the person that tried to kidnap you?" "What were you doing that morning before the Kidnapping attempt?" "What do you think might've tipped you off to him trying something like this?" etc. etc.) before going into detail regarding the fact that the driver had no recollection of even being in the vicinity of the city of South Town, let alone the fact that he had attempted to take you, Yuri Sakazaki, King & Mai Shiranui hostage...

You immediately flashed on the idea that Bizuki Iijima was involved with this, but didn't try to explain her or her abilities to the highway patrol, instead learning that the driver was a man named Vincenzo "Little Vinnie" Salvatore, a former "Small-Time" Bookie/Con-Man/Loan Shark with severed mob ties that currently worked as a stunt driver for movies & television, as well as being one of the co-owners of "Wessel's Garage", the motorcycle shop that you're planning to take your bike in for later today for servicing and new parts installation (Though a part of you is reconsidering that right now...).

The session was pretty cut-and-dry after that, drinking some bottled water they had on hand and passing on the donuts they offered you, with the only other highlight of the session being the fact that you learned that "Vinnie" was out on bail with his lawyer pleading insanity (And guessing that he's probably going to win, as he claimed that he had only been in South Town 24 Hours prior to meeting up with a few older friends at The Sutherland Hilton, your mind jumping to Andrew Draco and his rogue's gallery of "Friends")...

You thank the friendly officers for their time as they do the same, letting you go just a shade past 10:15 AM as you hop back on your bike, wondering what you could do to pass the time, as you don't have to really be anywhere until about Noon-12:30 at "La Illusion" with King & Yuri for a quick sparring session before your practice match against "The New Gorgeous Team"...

You ride out to a northern part of South Town National Park, finding an entrance a little ways away from the police station and feeling curiously ill-at-ease as you pull up, the camp ground entrance feeling fairly deserted and the somehow ominous-looking trees offering enough shade to fool your senses into thinking that it's late in the afternoon rather than still early in the day...

Still, you haven't really had a chance to do some Tai Chi training in a few days and figure that this would be the easiest place to do it in, as the ride down to Meadow's park would be long enough that it would be time to leave for King's Bar for your spar by the time you got there... You take off your helmet and look around the parking lot, noting that there's a familiar-looking sportscar parked nearby as you again wonder if it's safe to try and do this here or not.

"Fuck it, I might as well" you think to yourself as you carry you helmet and keys with you and begin your descent into the woods itself, working through the trees and dense foliage as it all feels fairly familiar to you somehow, coming out to a clearing after a short walk with an impressive waterfall trickling down and leading into a raging river...

However, you don't start to begin your Tai-Chi routine just yet when you spot what looks like a person meditating on a rock under the waterfall itself, a mental image of a fight you had dreamed up one night springing to mind as you wonder if it's safe to stop here and go through it or not (As you're too far away to try and identify the man or woman under the waterfall)...

You shrug at the person in the waterfall (Not knowing if it's a man or a woman and not really caring as long as they don't bother you) as you find a small, surprisingly level spot off to the right of the path you were walking on and set an alarm on your phone to go off in exactly One Hour, then place your helmet next to it and undo your zipper a little to get some literal breathing room and start to slowly do the first part of your Tai-Chi routine you had started learning how to do in Meadow's Park, remembering it a little as you go as you ARE slightly rusty at it...

However, with time your body starts to remember what to do as you pick up the pace a little bit, reigning in your latent Ki yet energizing it at the same time as you close your eyes and focus on the task at hand, a curious warmth flowing through your body and your hands seeming like their glowing through your closed eyes.

You feel as though you could keep doing this forever as your body's earlier creaks and groans seem to fade away, the alarm going off seemingly JUST as you were about to get to the "Fun" (IE Acrobatic and fairly difficult) part of your routine. You stop and take a cleansing breath, then squat down and open your eyes as you grab your phone and turn off your alarm, an older, grizzled-sounding voice asking you "Not bad... Tell me, where did you learn how to do that?"

You hallucinate for a moment that the older man with weathered cheeks and blonde hair you fought in a dream is talking to you for a second, though you drag your head out of the clouds your conscious had wandered off to as you grab your helmet and get up... Then feel your blood freeze as you see that very same man IS staring back at you, a inquisitive look on his face as you note that he's wearing a well-worn Green Gi with an equally well-worn Brown Hakama, with thick-looking Black "Socks" (Tabi boots, actually) and wristbands that match the socks (Along with deep horizontal scar across his chest)...

>C. Don't say anything and just leave, as you ponder "Why the fuck are my nightmares comin' t'life all of a sudden?" (Roll 1d100 for Speed in GTFO'ing from there)

>D. Apologize for disturbing his peace of mind and quiet among the wilderness and get going; the last thing you want to do is try and provoke this guy into a fight...

You finally tell him "I learned it from a man who called himself "Slick Sukihiro". He ran a group down in Meadow's Park for a little while, then just upped and disappeared one day...", hoping that your honesty wins this man over.

"Hmm... It had reminded me of what I used to do when I was young and still learning from my old master, that's all" he replies as he seemingly scopes you up and down, though more of a fighter sizing up an an opponent rather than any kind of lecherous intent in his part. "You fight?" he asks.

You nod and tell him "Yes, and I'm actually going to head back into town to catch up with my sparring partners" you truthfully reply, not quite ready to leave just yet but showing that you're not in the real mood to talk...

"Which tournament are you going to compete in? Shukumei No Katakai, Garou Densetsu... The King of Fighter's maybe?" he asks, then says "Apologies for bothering you, but not many people tend to visit me out this way..."

"Yeah, the trees have a real "Horror Film" look to them to scare people off, I think" you reply with a smirk, then admit "And I'm in the King of Fighter's this year..."

"Your first time, I take it?" he asks as you start to feel the sudden urge to RUN away from this man again.

"Yes, actually... But I've trained on and off for about ten solid years now" you reply, admitting "Haven't really fought all THAT much though..."

"You started off as a pure novice though, correct? No latent talent, or mastery of Ki at an early age...?" he asks, that look from before on his face again as he holds a hand under his chin.

"Yeah mate, I only started doin' any real trainin' on my 18th Birthday... And I've been goin' ever since" you tell him with a shrug, something MUCH different about this man rather than the one from your dream.

"What style of fighting would make you wait all that long from fighting others though?" he incredulously asks, not quite believing your explanation just yet.

If the thread 404's before I can get back to it, well, a new "Round" will start up ASAP tomorrow (Check my Twitter page for updates regarding that).

Regardless, have a good night's sleep /tg/! Also forgot to add that the voting option is open until updates arrive.

You take a good look at this older man, visions of him throwing out projectiles much like Andrew Draco's and body-slamming you after a failed attack running through your mind... However, while you definitely would like to fight him, you just don't have the time today and tell him as much.

He pauses for a moment, a sense of deep disappointment in his mood as he says "Very well... The next time I see you around here though, I'll be expecting to fight" before walking away, seemingly grumbling about something in a low-enough voice that you can't quite make out what he's saying as he walks up a winding dirt path cut through the landscape.

"Well shit, better make sure I don't head 'round here for a day or two" you think to yourself as you turn around and head back through the suitably ominous forest and arrive back at the parking lot, your trusty Triumph Thruxton waiting for you.

You hop on the bike and ride South, making good time as you get off freeway and ride into the outskirts of South Town itself... However, you get a little lost as you try to find "La Illusion", though you're only late by about five minutes or so as you pull up to the curb just outside the entrance.

You hop off the bike, then push it out towards the alleyway beside La Illusion and rest it up next to the wall, the kick-stand helping somewhat before you take off your helmet and check your phone, finding that it's around 12:33 PM as you walk inside.
>>
>>31540750

"Sorry I'm late mates; I had to" you start to say, though you note that it looks like you had just missed the conclusion to a pretty fierce fight, as the movable tables in the back near the small stage are missing while King & Tsuyako Horikawa help Fiona Graves up off the floor...

"Well shit, I should've got here early huh?" you yell as you walk down to the back, saying quick "Hello's" and "Hey's" to the others as you plop down into a chair off to the right of the small "Ring" King seemingly cleared out.

Fiona admits "I'm sorry Oz, I thought you weren't gonna show", though Tsuyako points out "I guess we just kind of wanted to get a quick warm-up in sooner rather than later..."

You shrug, trying to hide a creeping sense of disappointment as you ask King "Mai or Yuri 'ere yet?"

She shakes her head, though Fiona explains "I'dunno, I don't think she'll show up today... Maybe later, but I don't know WHAT the fuck her trip was last night."

"Yeah, she was acting really weird this morning..." Tsuyako adds, her red tracksuit only accentuating her preposterously ponderous figure. "Like, she didn't show up at the house until about two hours ago, wouldn't talk about what happened the previous night and just started doing training drills like crazy..."

"Yeah, even Hatsune-san had to take a short break after a while, and she's like a fucking machine when it comes to training and shit" Fiona adds as you keep mum about what really happened for now, though you smirk a little at the thought that she just might have taken your words seriously...

Though that's also when you dread the fact that she's probably going to be even stronger than you had expected if it comes down to fighting her in the tournament itself... "Hell with it, I'll cross that bridge when I get there" you ponder as you think about what to say or what you could do to try and break up the curiously "Dead" air in the room.

You decide to get up and start doing stretches, unzipping your "Kangaroo Suit" a little again before you start, then ask "So how'd the fight go?"

"It was interesting, for sure" King says to try and be cordial, though Fiona's emotions seem to run raw at her reply to that.

She sighs as she admits "I just couldn't get close enough to do some real damage... Well, that and I was worried I'd smash you through the floor."

King smirks at that and tells her "You probably would've, too... I haven't had a chance to reinforce these floors yet, as I don't think this place's really big enough to really fight in" before taking a sip from a glass of water, going through another set of "Warm-Up" stretches to pass the time.

"Huh... I take the lovely owner defended the honor and dignity of this 'ere establishment, yeah?" you half-joke, half-ask in a mockingly "Posh" accent, King smilinga s she wordlessly raises her bottle of water up as if to say "Yes".

You just about get into the halfway point of your routine when Tsuyako shrugs and starts doing her stretches with you, paying her no real attention as the phone at the bar rings. King walks over and picks it up, having a conversation with someone (Probably Yuri or Mai, you think) as you seemingly pick up the pace with your stretches, Tsuyako trying to match you for a little bit before switching back to her normal pace as King walks back over to the ersatz "Stage".

"Well, I hate to say this Katja, but Yuri's stuck doing classes at her dojo for another hour..." King says as you get into the "Home-Stretch" of your warm-up Routine, Tsuyako seemingly getting into her stride when she notices you slowing down your rhythm a little bit.

You step away from Tsuyako a little bit, content to let her go through her stretches as you get ready to possibly fight SOMEBODY today, a part of you starting to kick yourself by not taking up that old man in the park's offer...

Eventually, Tsuyako finishes stretching, then looks at you with a mischievious gleam in her eyes. "You up for a round? I promise not to give TOO many mat burns..."

You look over at King for a second, seemingly wondering if what she said about the floor breaking through could happen if you fight her... Though you get a nod that gives you the confirmation to "Have at it" and you nod at King in-turn.

"Awright..." you tell her as you crack your knuckles through your gloves, trying to sound menacing as you see Tsuyako strip off her tracksuit, revealing her usually "Scandalous" Southtown Wrestling Federation Leotard (Complete with White & Red Lace-Up Wrestling Boots and Matching Black Knee & Shoulder pads).

"How'd you do that?" you ask, not quite sure she even pulled that off as you take a few seconds to get ready to fight.

"Mai taught me after I won a bet" she replies as gives Fiona cheeky-looking wink, Fiona smirking as you eye her down and get into your normal combat stance, Tsuyako doing the same as King yells "Ready? GO!"

You stick to the tried and true fighting conventions that the Kyokugen Dojo drilled into you by backing away from Tsuyako at the start, really noticing the cramped quarters on "La Illusion" as you don't really feel any farther away and start to fight like your back's literally against the wall, kocking Tsuyako back with a "Thrust Punch", then using your "Raijin Sprint" to dash behind her and attempt a throw, though she uncannily breaks out of it and nearly hits you in the head with a lazy-looking spinning kick.

Though you block the kick, but get thrown off by how much weight was behind it and nearly get tackled by Tsuyako's incredibly fast, hunched dash towards you, hopping away from it at the last moment and countering it with a quick Ha'oh Raijinken, knocking her away from you a little but not quite causing her to get truly knocked down just yet as you again hop away, this time deliberately trying o lead her to the other side of the "Ring", hoping that she'll take the bait and

However, she stands her ground and hops up to her feet tying her almost ever-present headband up before slapping herself on the cheeks, Fiona yelling "Hang on Sue, you can't win this thing in ten seconds" as you wonder if she's going to try and make you come towards her... But instead she drops down into a low crouch, seemingly ready to try and tackle you again if you get in too close.

You test her a little by faking towards her for a step or two, but are colored impressed when she doesn't budge as you hop back away, wondering if she's charging up her Ki or something as her eyes seemingly lock and zero-in on you...

"Is that a low center of gravity, or are you just happy to see me?" you quip as you try to break Tsuyako's focus with your light razzing, though once more she practically sits motionless, her legs looking like they're starting to cramp up as the mood of the fight changes in an instant.

Tsuyako smiles back a you for a moment as she registers what you had just said, though when you not that she STILL hasn't moved an inch from where she squats (Well, MOST of her body hasn't moved anyway), you figure it's time to try something more than just waiting around to try and see if she'll crack under the strain her hamstrings and tendons are probably going through:

You run towards her as fast as you can, seemingly "Riding the Lightning" even now as Tsuyako springs forth as though she was shot out of a cannon, her arms outstretched as she tries to grab you... However, you knock her out of the attack with a strong Hien Shippu Kyaku kick, knocking her down HARD onto the floor, seemingly shaking the foundation of the whole building as the sound almost echoes throughout "La Illusion".

Curiously enough, you don't really care about any of that though as you focus on starting up an unrelenting offense, Tsuyako seemingly spooked at how you had almost effortlessly countered her as you use your speed advantage to REALLY pin her down after a botched "Recovery Roll" on her part, starting with a Thrust Punch, then cancelling it into a quick Ha'oh Raijinken before following THAT up with another Hien Shippu Kyaku (As there just wasn't enough space for a Raijin Lightning Rush for you to feel comfortable using it)...

However, Tsuyako regained enough of her balance and composure to block the last few hits of the Kyaku and suplex you into the wall directly behind her, bouncing you up off the wall to set up a second throw that drives you into the floor head-first, that hangover you never felt like having this morning coming to you with a vengeance...
>>
>>31552829

Though your head starts to pound and your vision's blurry for a moment, you roll away from Tsuyako as she misses her follow-up attack yet again, really feeling like her hits did a number on you as you get up and try to stare her down once more.

A part of you knowing that while she can't match you as far as speed goes, her damage output seems to be equal or even slightly higher than yours you find yourself trying to put up a strong front in case she tries something again... Though now it feels like she's almost playful and nearly dancing in place as she looks at you, that playful gleam in her eye from before seemingly present in her mind's eye.

>You're still in direct control of Katja Hartkern

>Date: Wednesday, May 23rd

>Time of Day: 12:45 PM

While you like the fact that it seems Tsuyako's starting to enjoy herself a little more in this fight after that "Serious Business" look she gave you, you back away from her just a little bit, throwing out a "Strong" Ha'oh Raijinken to try and keep her from advancing towards you as you think up a plan of action.

She gets the message your attack sends and moves back after a fake towards you, though you use her delayed recovery from her hop away from your electrified fist to try and catch her in a "Raijin Lightning Rush", though you just aren't quite quick enough and she blocks it (While seemingly eating a fair amount of "Chip" Damage).

You brace for a throw attempt or something, but instead Tsuyako tries to go for an "Enzugiri" attack-throw, swinging her right leg up to your chest. However, you block her hit and force her to get thrown off-balance, hammering her hard with a "Strong" Kohou that nearly sends both of you up into the ceiling of "La Illusion's" cramped building, your trail of electricity nearly hitting some small "Stage Lights" King had set up.

"Hey, try to watch it with the electricity Katja!" King yells as she doesn't want you to pop a bulb and electrocute yourself, or possibly have to pay for an electrician to fix her burnt-out fixtures because you shorted them out...

You nod at King and hold a hand up in acknowledgement of her request, though you keep your eyes on Tsuyako as she hops back up to her feet and hits you with a dropkick that knocks you back towards the wall, a part of you bewildered that it had completely broken through your guard... However, you go for a recovery roll of your own and rush back towards Tsuyako, who's seemingly taking her time to get up after that kick...

You eye Tsuyako for a moment as she gets up, noting that she's breathing a little heavier than when she had first started the fight as you decide to stick with the plan and dash towards her, then stand just out her reach as you set up a strong-looking defense, Tsuyako clumsily trying to grab you again as it just doesn't seem that she's got the speed right now to consistently ...

You hold off on completely demolishing her just yet as you smack her in the head with a Standing Hard Kick, the impact not actually doing all that much as she rushes towards you again and goes for yet another grab, this time landing it and tackling your legs and going for her "Okinawan Fisherman's Lock", the weight of her boy and the pressure you're feeling REALLY getting to you as you try to wriggle out of it.

Though you can hear Fiona start to yell and giving Tsuyako encouragement, you can tell that she doesn't quite have the strength to really "Lock-In" the hold and you break out of it after about a minute of not-inconsiderable pain... However, you don't call off the fight as you KNOW that you can win this sparring match and hop back up to your feet as Tsuyako rolls away from you.

"You feelin' good?" you ask as you start to try and lead her back towards you, Tsuyako nodding as she seems to take the bait and heads towards you with that same low dash she had transitioned into grappling you with earlier... However, you roll past her as she harmlessly moves past you, then smack her with a back-handed fist and grab her with a Tani-Otoshi when she tried to recover.

When you flip yourself back onto your feet, you run towards Tsuyako, only just catching her out as you yell "Kyokugenryuu!"and unload a barrage of punches & kicks, finishing her off with a "Weak" Kohou out of respect for King's request for you NOT to try and fry the electrics in the building...

You get a sinking feeling as Tsuyako gets helped up by Fiona as you rush over and offer a hand, which she takes and gives you a hug as you help her up.

"You're too fast" she says with a breath, then admits "And I guess I got careless tryig to catch you... But you won that one fair and square Katja."

"I guess so, huh?" you reply, trying not to boast about how you had the number on her speed-wise nearly that whole fight. "You hit bloody hard though..."

"Yeah... But not hard enough I guess" she tells you with a sigh.

"You got HELLA strong since I last saw you fight though" Fiona tells you, trying to cheer Tsuyako up a little before she asks "I don't remember that dash move you had either...?"

You shrug, feeling like Fiona's fishing for information ahead of the tournament as you tell her "Just somethin' I picked up a little while ago...", then ask Tsuyako "You sure you're alright? And I'm sorry I went bonkers on ya' like that..."

She wordlessly nods and replies "No problem" with a smile, making you feel a little bit better as you walk over to a padded booth and take a seat, contemplating a drink as you wonder what's keeping Yuri... Then turn to King and ask "Y'know anywhere else we can fight? It's a bit cramped in 'ere... Plus, y'know, I don't want t'short your whole place out by mistake..."

King finishes off her bottle of water, then says "Well, there's an open lot a little ways from here... But if you go there I'll have to close this place up and get it ready for dinner service for Sally & Elizabeth."

You nod at that, then ask "Can I get a bottle'a water dear? My throat's a bit parched..." as Fiona & Tsuyako follow and sitting down next to you, King nearly instantly walking over to behind the bar and tossing you a plastic bottle, (Which you catch with one hand and take a good swig).

With nothing better on your mind, you ask Fiona "How's that gig wrestling treatin' the two of ya'?", mostly to make conversation until Mai or Yuri show up, taking another hearty chug of your bottle of water.

Fiona shrugs, then says "Eh, so-good so-bad I guess...", a faint hint of regret and frustration in her voice.

"We haven't been happy with how our gimmick change went" Tsuyako clarifes, then explains "At the last big pay-per-view we did, we lost our belts -- Which we were supposed to, nothing wrong with that --, but at the last minute they wanted us to lose by DQ rather than by a quick-count, or even cleanly."

"Yeah... Not only that, but they cut a whole vignette I had done beforehand about how I realized how much of a bitch my character was, and how there was a better way to do things instead of fighting like a damn monster 24/7" Fiona elaborates, then rhetorically asks "You know, setting up my turn? Well, they replace it for a fuckin' break-dancing contest between Bone Cold Corpus Christi and the unbeatable poster-boy Juan Fuckin' Cena."

"Damn..." you quietly say to that, thinking about how that last name sort of is familiar to you somehow. "It must be hard livin' that double-life, stayin' in character all the time..."

"Oh yeah, it can wear on ya'... But at least no one's really bothering us yet" Fiona replies, then adds "The face-paint helps a lot with that for me, actually... Same with Juan & Christi's masks."

"And you know, Juan's actually a pretty cool guy to hang out with most of the time: He just doesn't really know how to wrestle and the booking team treats him like he's a Superman or something" Tsuyako adds. "Plus, they make him say the STUPIDEST shit to try and get over too..."

Fiona snorts at that and adds "Oh yeah, anyone that can get heat by fuckin' making it look like's jacking off an invisible dick in front of his face while yellin' "Jou Can' See Me!" REALLY deserves all the attention..."
>>
>>31570369

Fiona pauses at that, then says "Actually, scratch that, because people love my character even though I mostly snort and yell in Icelandic at the top of my lungs half the time... Well, USED to anyway."

You nod, then ask "And the physical side?"

"Always a lot fun" Tsuyalo pipes up, then admits "Well, when you're going up against someone who knows what they're doing..."

"That's the other real problem we're running into now too; For every girl that can go like we can, there's like four or five bitches that are in it because they can makes people's seats wet" Fiona adds to Tsuyako's reply. "And believe me, it's not fun to try and make some Five-Foot nothing waif look strong enough to beat me or Tsuya-Tsuya here up."

"That one chick Sam's alright though" Tsuyako says as you finish off your curiously-small water bottle, "And she's like an ex-fitness model who only started like 6 moths ago."

"Yeah, sure, but she's ALSO a gymnast AND a weightlifter who's going to the next Summer Olympics" Fiona points out, adding "You can't really put her in the same league as that one chick who refused to work with you two weeks ago."

Tsuyako nods, though you chipp in and ask "Seriously?"

"Yeah... Like an hour before she was going to go, the bitch wigs out and pulls some clause in her contract out of her ass, so Shermie filled in at the last minute" Fiona explains.

"Really?" you ask, wondering how she'd do as a wrestler (As you don't recall the one time she HAD fought you, as you weren't in control of yourself that day on the beach shooting Shermie's Swimsuit catalogue)...

"You want to check the match out on my Tablet?" Tsuyako asks, brimming with a bright cheeriness in her voice at how that match went in spite of how it came together (As well as the compliments she had gotten from Shermie afterward)...
>>

>A. Shrug and tell her "Why not?" and watch the match while you wait for Yuri or Mai to arrive.

>B. Politely decline, then start to do more stretches wile you wait for someone to arrive that would want to spar with you again...

>C. Politely decline, but leep talking about how much of a fan of wrestling your dad was, possibly seguing into talking about that one guy that seems to wear the same kind of headband that Tsuyako wears?

Also curious about what >>31571554 brought up about their gimmicks being a part of thiwr KOF participation.
>>
>>31572145
Previously, Fiona and Tsuyako were playing heels in their promotion. The idea was that to represent their wrestling promotion, they would turn face right before they enter the KoF tournament. Apparently, the promotion botched their face turn completely.
>>
>>31572203
So the question raised was, "Are they even going to bother staying in character for the tournament?"

You shrug and figure that it wouldn't be bad to kill some time to wait around for Yuri or Mai to show up, then tell Tsuyako "Why not?"

She smiles at that, then gets up and walks towards the front of "La Illusion", grabbing her bag and heading back over to your table as you ask Fiona "She's real proud of what she did, eh?"

Fiona simply grins and puts a finger to her mouth as a "Shh..." motion as Tsuyako turns on an sets up her tablet so that all three of you can watch, then take about twenty minutes to watch the whole match up on the South Town Wrestling Federation's YT Page (As it wasn't considered a "Featured" match IE "A Main-Event that would be worth trying to block somebody over"), busting a gut at the rather zany commentary and feeling as though the match was "Real" as Tsuyako & Shermie grappled it out, surprised at Shermie's acrobatics and flexibility (And downright astonished at the finish of the match looking so fluid to your eyes).

You quickly ask after the match ends "Huh, that was pretty damn good... But I was wonderin': Since the the two of you got into this gig as a way to promote your wresslin' federation, but are soundin' fairly fed up WITH said fed... Are the two of you still goin' to compete in the Tournament as your gimicks?"

"Unfortunately so" Tsuyako replies, Fiona adding "If we didn't, we'd be out of a job, I guess..." with a sigh, nodding at that when you hear Yuri Sakazaki yell "Hey Katie!"

You look to your left and see Yuri walk towards your table as you get up and go great her, askin' "How was your sessions Sunshine?"

"Pretty good, I guess" Yuri replies, then asks "You OK Katie?"

"Hm? Oh, the bruises..." You sheepishly ask, then admit "Well, I got a tad bit restless and decided t'fight Tsuyako since she was 'ere... And well, Fiona had already fought King'nall..."

Yuri nods at that, then greets King and asks "How did your match go?"

"Well, a win's a win I suppose" she replies as she gets another bottle of water, Fiona muttering something over at the table sounding that sounds oddly "Cute" to your ear...

"Huh... Hey, where's Mai?" She asks, Fiona filling in for her and explaining what had happened from her perspective as Yuri grabs a seat up at the bar to take it all in.

"Whoa... I heard that it got really crazy after I had left with Robby, but I had no idea" she replies.

"Yeah, you wouldn't know the half of it" you tell her, then whisper "She asked me not to tell ya' the whole story until she's ready, but it was some pretty intense shit with me'n'her last night AND this mornin'..."

"This morning?" she asks in-turn.

"Yeah, things didn't quite pan out last night and she felt comfier stayin' with me" you tell her.

"Whoa... Well, I'm here; You ready for a quick match or two Katie?" she asks with a smile.

>A. Agree to fight Yuri straight-up at that open lot King talked about, then walk over there with her to get into a hopefully "Friendly" sparring session.

>B. Take a moment to determine whether your body's up for another fight so soon after the last one before deciding to spar with Yuri or not (Roll 1d100 for a Perception Check...)

>Time of Day: 1:19 PM

You take a moment to try and see if you've recovered enough stamina or if your body's up for another fight so soon after getting hit hard by Tsuyako... Then look at Yuri and tell her "Yeah, I'm ready. But I don't really want to fight in here; It's too cramped and I could end up shorting out the whole place with my Ki."

Yuri nods at that, the asks "OK, but where do you want to spar then?"

"There's a lot we can use a little ways from here... Right King?" you ask, King nodding at the two of you.

"It's right down the street and you can't miss it" she says as you lead Yuri out of "La Illusion" and you walk with her down the street, spotting a dusty but relatively well-kept open lot about a block away.

You ask her "Let's get goin', yeah?" and Yuri nods, the two of you touching fists and hoping away from each other as a rush of excitement flows through you...

You hop away from Yuri and try to lead her towards you, confident that you can block just about anything she can dish out (As you're feeling rather spry today)... But Yuri doesn't quite follow you first of all, instead feeling YOU out a bit as she moves in and out of your range, playing the "Footsie" Game (Which is highly unusual for her). Secondly, the faint smile she usually has on her face isn't there right now either as you ponder if Takuma's drilled some discipline into her for once...

You don't say anything and just focus on playing the waiting game against her, moving towards ever-so-slightly and then backing away just as quickly, the two of you engaging in footwork that wouldn't look out of place in an interpretive dance studio... Eventually, breaks the virtual stalemate and advances towards you, flying through the air with a high jump, then homing in on you with a diving kick that looks like it's going for your head at first but actually hits your midsection.

You recoil from the attack as Yuri rushes in and lands her dreaded "Bitch-Slap of DOOM" (Her "Hyakuretsu Binta"), knocking you away from her on the last hit and going for a follow-up you have't seen before... However, you do a Ukemi and smash her with a "Strong" Kohou when she tried to punish your recovery attempt, Yuri landing hard down onto the ground.

Though it was tempting to try and land some kind of "Okizieme" Follow-Up attack, you hopped away from her and were validated by your choice as Yuri completely missed a chance to try and land her "Tsubame Tsubasa" punch. You grin inwardly at that and counter her "Whiff" with a Hien Shippu Kyaku, the last hit knocking her down hard yet again as you wonder if she'll try to do a "Wake-Up Attack" again, sticking close to her just in case you feel bold enough to try and catch her while she recovers...

From how Yuri had seemed almost hesitant to fight you at the start, you decide that now's a good time to start to press your speed and throw out a quick Ha'oh Raijinken, surprised at how large it seems to have gotten even after the last time you had used it as it hits Yuri cleanly, knocking her back (But not completely over) just as she was getting up off the dusty ground. You then try to press the offensive advantage with a Thrust Punch, then cancel the hit into a "Weak" Kohou, though the uppercut misses as Yuri's a smaller target when crouching...

You get knocked back by a "Saiha", setting up an "Okizeme" game for her as she tries to do what you had done and throws out a "Ko Ou Ken" as fast as she can... However, while your electrified energy was MUCH harder for Yuri to deal with in this situation, you easily block the strike and throw with a Tani-Otoshi, quickly following it up with a "Raijin Lightning Rush" that rockets her back from you... Curiously, Yuri recovers from the last hit in mid-air and hops back onto her feet as you rush towards her, flashing past her "Ootori Tsubasa" jump with a "Raijin Sprint" and trying to counter her "Whiff" with a another quick Ha'oh Raijinken.

However, she throws out a "Air Raiou Ken" and both hits "Trade", locking you into your special move as Yuri rushes you down with another "Hyakuretsu Binta". Unfortunately for her, she misjudged the space between the two of you and your speed in hopping away from her, harmlessly stopping in front of you as you figure what you could do in this split-second of opportunity (As your earlier enthusiasm and vigor seems to be wearing off, as Yuri's giving you one HELL of a work-out right now)...

In spite of your current mood and how badly your body's feeling right now, you grin as you "Power-Up", again not thinking of completely demolishing your opponent (As Yuri's still a dear to you after all's said and done) but still want to punish her mistake and do so with a relatively "Beefy" standing Hard Punch, transitioning into a "Weak" Hien Shippu Kyaku.

Yuri blocks the last hit of it and chucks you backwards with a "Oni Harite" throw, clutching her head a little after her trademark semi-taunt.

You roll out of the throw and hesitate a little, asking her "You still on 'Uri?", only for her to dash towards you and throw out a flurry of punches and kicks, trying to land a combination out of desperation at her current state. You evade most of them as you keep a cool head about all of this, throwing her with a Tani-Otoshi and NOT following up with a "Denjin Haoh Shokuo Ken" just yet...

You note Yuri's unsteady footing as she gets up and try to end this quickly by rushing in and blasting her with a Thrust Punch/Kohou combination, Yuri getting "Dizzied" and giving you the perfect opportunity to try out a certain DM that had been difficult for you to try and perform in the past...

You hop back and yell "Denjin!", then charge your Ki as an impressively-large ball of electricity forms around your hands... However, you don't take TOO long to charge it and throw it fairly quickly, Yuri only getting to her senses as she gets blasted by the unblockable attack as you yell "Haoh Shokuo Ken!" and watching her get dizzied AGAIN as you pause, not quite sure if you want to stop now and call it a draw or ask her if she wants to keep fighting out of respect for how long she had been your go-to sparring partner.

>A. Rush over to her and help her up; It would be rude to let her lay out like she is right now after all of the sparring matches you've been through together...

>B. Ask her if she's still alive, then head over to check her vitals if she doesn't respond right away; The last thing you need on your mind right now is the thought that you might've just killed your best friend and teammate a week before the tournament...

>C. Wait for her to get up and keep up your guard just in case she's planning any "Last-Gasp" "Wake-Up" DM's or something... (Roll 3d100 for Speed, Defense & Luck that the attack she might try is, in fact blockable.)

>D. Help her up and start apologizing for how nasty that attack was; You had wanted to try it out for sure, but didn't intend for it to hit THAT hard...

>Shokuo
It's "Shou Gou," unless Katja's willfully mispronouncing it.

Somewhat correct: Katja mispronounces it only because no one bothered to correct her (As she learned this move on her own in relative secrecy and got basically banished from the Kyokugen Dojo shortly after trying to perform it)...

You head over to where Yuri's sitting on the ground and offer her a hand to help her up, asking her "Y'awright sunshine?"

"Yeah, but it's like my body's all numb or something; I can't even feel my toes right now..." she replies as you get a worried look on your face.

"I'm sorry that I let that last one go off like that; It's a move I've wanted to try and do f'ever, but I didn't know it was gonna hit THAT hard" You start to say, trying to apologize before Yuri stops you.

"It's alright Katie; I'd rather lose to you than Ryo or Robby" she tells you, though she also admits "But my head feels like I got a hangover the size of the moon..."

"Kinda' curious 'bout it; It's that one thing I tried to do when I was, well, y'know" you start to say, but the topic that is the undeniable fact that you had been a part of the Kyokugen Dojo and basically failed your advancement honors in all but name comes up, but you force it back down; You DON'T want to bitch about the damn dojo right now, ESPECIALLY in front of a dear friend that still lives there...

You switch topics with all of the grace of a bull in a china shop and tell Yuri "I think I've been gettin' carried away sparin' lately... I mean bloody 'ell, you're like the third person that I've fought in two days that had to concede or quit."

"I don't think you're doing anything like that Katie; I think you just got really strong out of nowhere all of a sudden..." Yuri says. "You train a lot, right?"

"Every day I can" you reply.

"Then at some point all of that hard work pays off right? It worked for my brother... Besides, you need some good Karma anyways you know?" Yuri asks, that cheerful "Bounce" in her voice back.

You pause for a moment, then admit "I'm kinda scared at that thought, t'be honest..."

"Why?"

You take another pause, then shrug and sarcastically reply "I'dunno, the idea that I'm actually winnin' because I'm strong's new to me", then ask "Wanna get a drink and talk about how it went?"

Yuri pauses for a second as you shoulder her back up to her feet, then hear her say "Sure" as the two of you walk back up to the street to "La Illusion", taking your time to get Yuri's footsteps to get into-sync with yours as she tries to get some feeling back into her body...

>A. Ask Yuri how the fight went from her perspective and maybe try and shed some light on why she seemed so eager to attack you?

>B. Ask Yuri what's up with all of the "Rushdown" fighter's you've seemed eat up for breakfast lately by waiting back and counter-hitting them..

>C. Check in with everybody back at La Illusion, then ask if there's a nice restaurant around to get something for Lunch, because you're STARVING right now (And inviting them all to come with if they so desire)...

>D. Try to talk about what was goin' through your mind and what you felt about Yuri's overall "Gameplan" as you walk up and into "La Illusion"; Maybe you could learn something from her words?
