You are the PRODUCER, a former soldier hired to manage a group of teenage girls on their rise to stardom, assuming they don't get killed in the process!

You and your idols have just finished a very big concert for your new main sponsor, the Hyperion Corporation. However, during the concert, there was an attempted prison break, and while the damage was contained and kept under wraps, damage was still done, and you suspect there won't be many more jobs from Hyperion in the near future as they try to clean up the mess.

As if to exacerbate the situation, one of your idols, Rochelle, didn't take kindly to the fact that you took part in combat operations without telling her. You were going to have to find some way to resolve that.

However, that's just one thing in the long list of things that you have to take care of today. Not only are you flush with fresh funds, but you also need to arrange a reward trip for your idols. You kind of promised Cole, after all.

You decide to head down to Lillith's office first. Rochelle's outburst last night was still nagging at you, and you wanted to get a professional's opinion before you confronted her about it. As always, Lillith as at her desk, tapping away her console.

"Ah, Producer, can I help you with something?" She asks.

"Actually, yes." You sigh, sitting down in a chair. "I think I made Rochelle angry last night."

Lillith rolls her eyes with the "here we go again" expression.

"Okay, let's start from the top. What happened?"

You explain to her about the rival idol group attempting a prison break as well as inciting a prison riot during last night's performance. You took it upon yourself to deal with the situation, deciding not to bother or worry your idols about the situation. Afterwards, Rochelle got angry at you after you informed them what happened.

"Oh, Producer." Lillith sighs. "I thought this would be obvious to you, of all people. Rochelle comes from a military family, and you're an ex-soldier. She obviously has a great amount of respect for you, and I suspect desperately craves your approval or acknowledgement of her skills. Not to mention, you've obviously been grooming her to fill some sort of field leadership position. Keeping her out of the loop like that probably made her think you confident in her ability to handle the situation. After all, what good is building an asset if you don't use it?"

"That makes... a lot of sense." You sigh. It was pretty obvious now with Lililth spelling it out for you.

"On top of that, there's probably a more personal aspect to it. Going in alone like that? You getting hurt while there was an opportunity for her to do something about it probably didn't go over well in her mind, either."

"I guess I kinda screwed up there, didn't I?" You sigh.

"Well, that's why you have me around. To clean up the emotional messes." Lillith smiles. "Now, is there anything else?"

To the anon who suggested the Prince/Princess idol duo:

A Prince and Princess archetype could be very powerful, but it can also be tricky to manage.
First, we have to find a naturally occurring dynamic as it is an ideal relationship, and both of them want to be idols; something which is hard to find. (Tombs?)
Second, is the fact that while they are powerful together, they lose the appeal of a duo when they are separated. This will cause scheduling problems if both of them have to be in two different places at the same time, and that's not even considering what type of idol the two are.
Third, we have to be careful of our actions because what we do to one of them affects the other, which can be good or bad.
Fourth, there's the danger that they rely on each other too much and not on themselves or other idols.
Finally, we have to deal with what kind of people they are. For example, the Prince may be very overprotective of the Princess and accuse people for pushing her too hard during training; the Princess could have major esteem issues if she's constantly coddled by the Prince; the Prince overworking, and not taking care of herself due to the desire to look after the Princess' well being. Hell, both girls switch roles as Prince and Princess in different situations (i.e. Sayaka and Kyoko)

I think I know what we get from appealing to the Penal Colony.

The colony has inmates from all walks of life who have committed various crimes ranging from minor to major. The prisoners who are getting out early will sow the seeds of our influence in other districts.

>>
>>31503626
In the short term future, I think we want to raise our influence to at least 75%. This will give us a solid platform for the rest of the game.
>>
>>31503644
No. Don't try to explain yourself. Just let it go and explain the situation to Rochelle next time.
>>
>>31503644
How about saying it like: "You did an important part of the operation. You made sure the inmates were distracted by the performance. If they had noticed something wrong, there would have been a riot. The one thing I regret is not taking at least one of you along to help."
>>
>>31503586
I imagine we would most likely meet them in the Tombs. The Prince would be an older girl protecting the younger Princess, though the ages can be switched around with ease. We could offer the two of them, especially the Princess, a safe place to stay as long as at least one of them becomes an idol. If the Prince becomes an idol first, the Princess may become one as well in order to "earn her own share" and not wanting to be a burden.
>>
>>31503712
We could meet them somewhere else in the city. Like in the slums or industrial sector. The Tombs isn't the only place to fight streetwise people.

"So, how about those two idols we captured?" You ask. "How are they doing?"

"Ah, Lila and Melinda. Both rookie idols, nothing too special about them." Lillith shrugs. "From what I'm able to ascertain they're from Horizon Entertainment."

"And what do they do?"

"They mostly reside in Districts 4 and 5. They're a very tech savvy group, with sponsors from electronics companies, so that's probably how they were able to compromise the prison security the way they did."

"So a group of hackers and tech specialists?" You frown.

"Pretty much, yes. However, it seems the two idols we captured haven't had a chance to settle into any sort of specialization yet."

"So, how much do you think we can get out of them?"

"For rookie idols? The average is around $1000 a head. Sure, it would hurt to lose them, but they're ultimately replaceable."

"So... what's the procedure for this sort of thing, then?"

"Just sit and wait. Any idol company worth their salt will send over a negotiator to hammer out the details." Lillith shrugs. "Don't worry about it too much. It's fairly routine. Horizon doesn't really have a rep for playing dirty with prisoners, anyways."

"And there are those that do?"

"Of course. There's always bad apples" Lillith grimaces, as if recalling something she rather would not have.

You check your watch and realize that you've let too much time pass. You've still got a lot to do.

You decide to go talk to Rochelle first. You head up to the dorms, where you see K-Zwolf dutifully keeping watch on the room where your two prisoners were being kept in. In the lounge, you can see her sitting on the couch, playing one of her vintage Nintendo 64 games.

"Hey, Rochelle." You say softly to get her attention. "Can we talk?"

"Oh!" Rochelle's blinks and pauses her game. "Um, yeah, sure thing, sir..."

"About last night..."

"Actually, I'd like to apologize about last night." Rochelle sighs. "I... I really acted out of line out there, and it wasn't professional at all. I promise I won't do something like that again."

Why are you making the Producer like some sort of gloryhound?

We originally did it because the Op was sketchy
>>
>>31504379
This. I realize it is the wrong choice from a game perspective, but I still feel it is true.
>>
>>31504532
Yeah. We didn't want our idols anywhere near that terrorist group. We only got involved because we were shot at.

However, we should have told the Rochelle, at least, what was going on because next time P-san gets shot at, the Idols might be next. We'll need Rochelle to keep an eye out and, if she thinks the other idols are in danger, get them out of there.

It was one of the possible reasonings that was brought up when the attack happened.
>>
>>31504687
I honestly feel that was one of the reasons we acted like the way we did, but other anon's agree. Hopefully Merc can take into account the conflictive nature on how we feel in the response.
>>
>>31504687
It was also one of the least likely, the original purpose was to avoid having the idols deal with terrorists that had some popularity/support.

The jailer was again sketchy and we didn't know how Roosevelt was as a person.
>>
>>31504750
Not to mention we weren't really sure of who we're really against. All the anons just happened to agree on stopping the escape. Who we were against (The idols or Roosevelt's group) was debatable.
>>
>>31504750
Who said it cannot be both?

In the thread anons were getting high off our high rolls, and we wanted them to keep on coming. Yes, we had our good reasons, but we were also getting victory disease.
>>
>>31504738
We could have managed the OP better I agree, but making the Producer as some sort of glory hound.

The same Producer who didn't feel comfortable about having girls fight each other to near death,

The one who thinks himself as a surrogate father to them. To have "I do this for glory'.

I'm sorry I just don't see it
>>
>>31504309
>Other, admit that we are both at fault.

>"You're not the only one who has to apologize here. I realize that my decision and actions regarding what happened in the prison may have been upsetting to you but, I trust and have faith in you to believe in certain decisions I make on the field when I am in charge and you saying those things made me feel... Still the same goes for me, if you haven't noticed by now, I hold you in quite high regard and do plan on the future on giving you some sort of bigger leadership role, I trust in your skills and judgement so don't be afraid to voice in any concerns or troubles and I should be treating you girl better than that. So I will in the future be more cautious and inform you and the other properly, but I need to know that we can continue to work together with you trusting my calls and in you leading the girls, because they look up to you and I need you."
>>
>>31504826
True, some anons wanted to kill Roosevelt, while other anons wanted to capture him.
>>
>>31504830
That's the anons fault not the Producer himself.

Also at the time when Jenner asked us about backup again, the situation was something we could handle.

If we went of asking her when we were outnumbered, they wouldn't get there in time or even worse go without armor.
>>
>>31504309
"No, I was the one who screwed up." You sigh, putting a reassuring hand on Rochelle's shoulder. "I just got worried that if word of trouble got out, it would affect the performance. It was completely out of line for me to not inform you of the danger so you would at least be aware of it, and could make your own judgment call."

"I- sir-" Rochelle pauses, not expecting you to be so forward about this.

"But either way like it should be a superiors job to inform their subordinates of threats, it should be every subordinate's job to tell their superiors if they think something is wrong." You grin, ruffling Rochelle's hair. "You're a smart kid, Rochelle. I don't regret bringing you on the team."

"Th-thanks sir." Rochelle says, her face flushing red.

"Sorry, I need to go." You sigh as you check your watch. "Just remember what we talked about, okay?"

"Yeah, I will." Rochelle nods.

As you go down the stairs, you feel that you have an odd feeling of accomplishment.

Well, there was only the matter of business, now. You return to your office, where Jenner is waiting for you.

"Ah, Producer ,you're here." Jenner nods at your arrival. "We actually just got a call from a negotiator claiming he represents Horizon Entertainment."

"That would be me." You affirm. "And who am I speaking to?"

"You can call me Mr. Smith. I am a professional negotiator here on the behalf of my client, Horizon Entertainment. Apparently, two of their personnel have found themselves in your custody, and I have been contracted to negotiate their release. Is this information correct?"

"Yes." You affirm again.

"Before we start negotiations, I would like to see that the two personnel are alive and healthy. Standard procedure, of course."

"Of course." You activate the security camera feed and link it to Mr. Smith.

"Excellent. Seeing as how both personnel appear to be in good shape, I am authorized to offer you the standard exchange rate. $1000 per person. Is this acceptable?"

I respect horizons willingness to handle things peacefully I have a counter offer. This is a tough game and we have enough problems to deal with before becoming each other's, so I propose a trade. The girls go free for nothing. But horizon agrees to not directly work against clover with prior knowledge and if it turns out that we are at cross purposes we will both pull back and reevaluate the situation

I think that is worth much more to both our companies than a few thousand dollars and will help limit unpleasant situations like this in the future

The ultimate in VIP protection, armored SUVs combine both form and function. Its modifications are mostly concealed, making it harder to spot in a crowd. Seats up to 8.

Or
does it stay stuck on top.
>>
>>31507354

Jenner actually has her own car.

The van stands out by being nondescrip unlike an armoured SUV which is obviously expensive.

The van can be spraypainted to have no identifying logos on it and thus can be useful as a support vehicle on ops, to get idols in close or an emergency escape card. Especially since the armoured upgrade is hidden from view on a civilian vehicle.

>>31507428

The armoured SUV is also stock.

Anyone knowledgeable in vehicles would be able to identify it as an armoured SUV. That would attract suspicion.

An uparmoured van would attract even less attention than a SUV.

"Well, why not both?" You ask. "If we got the funds..."

"All right, that will complete our roster, then." Jenner nods.

>ACCOUNTANT ACQUIRED: In addition to reducing total upkeep by 20%, accountants can also launder stolen or illegally obtained money. HEIST missions are now possible.

"And as for the matter of a driver..." Jenner continues.

>GETAWAY DRIVER: Specializes in driving fast and furious. Particularly skilled at shaking off pursuit.

>DEFENSIVE DRIVER: Most security firms employ and train drivers to be able to recognize possible traps and hazards when transporting VIPs

>COMBAT DRIVER: While not particularly specializing in any advanced driving skills, there a number of retired military personnel who know how to handle a whole range of vehicles.

Pursuit of the Almighty Dollar. A 20 per cent reduction in upkeep allows us a bit more dosh, but honestly it ain't that much.

Now if we could pull One Big Score, we could totally have our monetary problems solved entirely.

Harder to spot in a crowd yes since its a civilian vehicle. But you get what I mean when I say the van attracts less attention than an expensive vehicle? Both would be useful for stealth work but if we keep using the SUV for official work, theres no way that armoured SUV will not be recognised after some time.

Theres also the fact that we have 2 vehicles of differing capacity for different missions of varying personnel needs. This saves us on the purchasing cost of an additional SUV right now.

>Let's go now. The sooner the better.

It'd feel weird to hire her, and then the first thing we do is go to an amusement park to celebrate a job well done.

It'd make everyone else feel obligated to include her, making it seem like the trip is more centered around her, even though it isn't.

While I do feel like we should have an outing with the new idol, this isn't the time to do it.

"Oh no, you're not going to hole up here doing paperwork all day while we're having fun! If anybody really deserves a break, it's going to be you!" You say.

"But-" Jenner blinks.

"SORRY I CAN'T HEAR YOU OVER THE FUN YOU'RE GOING TO HAVE." You say, grabbing her hand and pulling her out of her seat. "Consider it the Producer's orders."

"Fine..." Jenner sighs in defeat.

"Hey, if it means that much to you, I'll help you handle the paperwork when we get back." You say.

"All right, I'll hold you to that." Jenner grins slightly.

With that, you go around the office informing all of your idols, who are more than eager to have a day to just relax and cool off. Of your support staff, only Lillith and Falynn were eager to go. Himawari was...."encouraged" to go as well, if having Julie kicking down her door while the other idols dragged her out of her room could be considered "encouragement". You then divide the idols up into both of your vehicles and head off to Omni Land, Delta City's premier amusement park.

"You are all terrible people." Himawari says glumly as your group starts making its way to the park entrance.

"Don't be silly! You need to get out of that room once in a while!" Falynn says, slapping HImawari on the back.

"And I think those looks of yours are sadly wasted just holed up inside all day." Rin adds in. "You could look rather stunning if you tried!"

"Hmph. Too much effort." Himawari pouts.

"Hey!" Cole narrows her eyes. "I never got to enjoy shit like this. You're gonna go to this park and you're gonna ENJOY it!"

"Rowdy lot." Lillith gives a rare grin. "I have a feeling they're going to tear this place apart."

"As long as we don't get stuck with the damages." Jenner responds. "It might be a bit too unwieldy going as one group. There's three of us adults here. Maybe we should split up?"

>Yeah, maybe we should.

Let's be honest, if we all try to go as one group and hit everything then somebody's always going to be unhappy about what we're doing. Letting them split up means everyone should get to be happy. Assuming they pair off correctly that is.

>>
>>31509847

>>

How about going on the Ferris Wheel with someone, Jenner maybe?
>>
>>31509887

>>
>>31509928
Maybe at the very end of the trip when everyone goes on the ferris wheel at the same time, but in different seats.
>>
>>31509928
Maybe we can establish groups throughout the day, like if some girls want to go on one ride, and others want to go on a different one, we can split up and regroup at various points.
>>
>>31509986
Yeah, mix it up
>>
>>31509847

>>
>>31510038

>>
>>31510038

>>
>>31510082
>>31510066
>>31510038
If Cole can learn to rig an arcade game in her favor, I think that might start her along the path to becoming our combat hacker. Which means one less combat idol to hire.
>>
>>31509686
"Yeah, it's probably better we go in groups." You nod. You then clap your hands to get everybody's attention. "Okay, girls! We're going to be splitting up into groups! Everybody divide into groups of three!"

You had eight girls to keep track of, and three chaperones, including you. That meant you'd have two groups of three and one group of two.

Rin and Niko both grab Himawari and form one group.

The Tombs trio, Cole, Julie, and Melissa stick together.

That leaves Rochelle and Falynn to pair off.

"So, which group will you handle?" Jenner asks.

"Well, the Tombs girls are probably going to be the biggest handful, so I'd better keep an eye on them." You sigh.

With that, Jennner takes the performance idols and Himawari, while Lillith takes Rochelle and Falynn.

You turn the Tombs girls and just smile at the awed look on their faces as they gaze all the technological wonder that is the modern theme park. You're pretty sure they wouldn't know the first thing about the place, so it was up to you to guide them.

Sorry guys, but I think I'm going to call it here for the night. I don't feel I can do the rest of the scene just with the time we've got left.

But we've got a lot done today! We're really starting to get to the point where you'll be a full fledged idol company!

Anyways, the next thread may or not may not be this Saturday, depending on how my schedule works out. If we don't get a thread on Saturday, we'll run it next Tuesday instead. However, Gundam Build Fighters will be on Friday and Magical Girl Hunter on Sunday as normal!
