General rules:

There is a 10 minute voting period after each post, and 5 minute voting period for combat votes. Non-contradictory votes will be combined as best as possible. There are occasional roles to keep things organic, but mostly it goes by voters choice. Unless specified otherwise, the best of 3 rolls is the result, and rolling high is good.

Write-ins for all votes or always welcome and encouraged. Put your own spin on it, suggest dialogue, add an addendum, or anything else. Just because some options specify to write in, doesn't mean that they aren't welcome for anything else. They may not all make it into the post or be altered to fit in, but I'll do my best to at least try to address the spirit of the write-in.

Very important or contentious votes may be redone in a stricter voting system as it comes up.

"Alright, if this is good with everyone, here's my plan."

Vance, Robin, and Jeanine all look to you at attention.

You take a breath and begin. "I agree with Jeanine, she should help Vance train his Pokemon." She nods. "You two should focus on getting them to listen well and quick and then worry about moves after that." Vance nods now too. "And Vance, when you're done, you and I will have a practice battle."

He smiles confidently. "Don't underestimate me. I won't go easy." Good, he's got the right mindset. You were worried he'd let his lack of experience a trainer get to him.

You turn to Robin. "I think would should let Dan and Golem help each other out. Lets have them wrestle. Not battle, but just push each other outside of a ring."

The small redhead that makes life worth living nods. "That's a good idea!" Knowing that she's on the same page means a lot.

"I need your help with something too," you put a hand on her shoulder. "Can you and Houndour help me teach Devon Flamethrower?"

She smiles. "Okay! That won't take long."

You hope she's right. You have a lot of training to get done. You also plan on training Devon separately, as well as Trunks, Destiny, and Nibbles.

The park by the Pokemon center looks too small for everyone to have that many Pokemon practicing new and potentially haywire moves at once. You need a large space.

You decide to head out of town. You'll have more space and privacy.

"Huh, Pokemon Vitamins Plus."

You snap out of your thoughts and look where Vance is reading. There's a small, out of the way store on the way out of town. You wouldn't have noticed it if you didn't come this way. Vance just sort of wanders in as you get closer. You'd be upset with him for stalling the training, but you're a little curious too. You follow with the other girls.

The shop is very plain. There's a kind looking skinny old man. It's not hot outside, but the cramped shop seems to be keeping the heat in. He waves at you then continues fanning himself with one hand and tuning an ancient looking television with the other.

Everyone is already inspecting the rows of supplements and vitamins.

"I didn't know this was even a thing," Vance says, bending over to read the labels.

Jeanine takes a package of supplements and inspects them. "These are pretty ideal, actually. You usually can't find these that often." She stops reading and notices everyone giving her a look. "What? I know a thing or two about pharmaceuticals. I'm not 'just' an Aura reader you know."

She seems a little on edge. You know that she feels a little left out not having any Pokemon

You turn to Robin. You don't even have to ask the question, she already knows where your head is at.

Robin inspects it too. "Things like these, Iron, Zinc, Calcium, and the others are all legal and great for your Pokemon as long as you don't use too many at once. They're common with high level trainers. I didn't mention it before because we were new at this and these can be really expensive."

Your eyes fall to the price tags. Expensive is right. There's a chart on the wall that has recommend doses for various types and size of Pokemon. A full regimen can really add up.

Still, you do have a lot of money. You could buy enough for all of yours and Robins Pokemon and you'd still have a little safety net. If you got enough for Vance too, you'd be nearly out of money. Is it worth it?

You clap your hands together. "Alright guys. Enough window shopping. We have training to do!"

Nobody complain, it's stuffy in there. You four of you make your way to the edge of the city. There's a nice field with a large boulder in the middle and a few trees off to the side. Perfect.

You and Robin send out Dan and Golem and explain the training idea. To make sure they have a clear goal, Robin has Joltik make a thin circle of web. "We'll be watching a bit. Remember, it's not a battle."

Golem immediately begins to push Dan. Golem doesn't have a lot of grace or balance so he doesn't get far before Dan stops him. Dan looks amazing before loses balance and veers off to the left. You have to try not to giggle at the display. You don't want to discourage them, but it's like watching drunken sumo wrestling.

Satisfied that they understand, you take out Devon. He's first on the list.

You're still not used to how big and powerful he looks. When Robin releases Houndour, he's absolutely dwarf.

"Alright Devon. Houndour here is going to teach you how to use Flamethrower."

Robin orders Houndour to do a demonstration. Houndour quickly and efficiently uses the move and sits back down when she's done. She's really been drilled well at that gym Robin's father ran.

Devon snorts. He fires a very strong Ember at the large boulder then sticks his head up in contempt. It's a much stronger display than before he evolved.

He's telling you that his Ember is better than Houndour's flamethrower. He's being prideful. You never would have expected that from Devon.

>Gently remind him to be more humble. Houndour has more experience, even if she's not evolved.
>Explain the benefits of being even more powerful by learning Flamethrower

"You know Devon, you'd probably be able to melt that boulder if you got really good with Flamethrower." You cross your arms and lean your back against him. "But remember, power isn't everything. Experience is something to really respect." You gesture to Robin's Houndour. She's tossing leaves out into the air and her Houndour takes them out before they land with almost robotic precision.

He lets out a small whine. Huh. Maybe he wasn't trying to show he was better, maybe he's just insecure and trying to show that he's just as good. You hug him. "Come on big guy, are you ready to train?"

Devon barks. You pet him on the head.

Robin has Houndour show the move off repeatedly. Devon watches closesly. Every once in awhile you see little looks in his eyes that show the small puppy you caught. He's still your Devon.

You have him try. He picks it up fairly quickly. Houndour's Flamethrower is thin, but hot and precise. Devon's is strong, but wide and unfocused. You spend some more time helping him get it down. With Robin and Houndour helping, Devon is able to learn it quickly. It's not the perfect thin cord of fire that Houndour produces, but it's pretty close.

You see Dan and Golem wrestling still. Dan sparks electricity uncontrollably when he pushes hard. If Golem weren't a ground type, that would be trouble.

Vance and Jeanine are both instructing Ursaring and Stunky. It doesn't look like they're having any big problems. That's a relief.

Devon barks after each Flamethrower. He's excited every time he does it.

"Good job Devon!" You give him another hug, then stand up firm. "We're not done yet though. Show me that Thunderfang."

Devon takes a stance and bites the air. That looks fine, but you want to be sure. You find a stick and toss it into the air.

"Thunderfang! Let's go!"

Devon leaps after the stick and bites down on it savagely. His snarling teeth scare almost you. There's no electricity though.

"Are-" ZAP! The stick explodes as it finally goes off.

You unsheild your face slowly. "Bit of a delay there."

You begin coaching him on doing both the bite and the zap at the same time. It's a good thing you caught that early. It could have been a nasty surprise in the heat of a battle.

It takes a little work, but he finally seems to get it.

Devon proudly alternates between showing off Thunderfang and Flamethrower. You have to tell him to calm down before he exhausts himself.

"Great work. Now I need you to watch over Nibbles." You're feeling comfortable enough to let all of your current Pokemon out. They might as well enjoy the fresh air.

They all begin to spread out. You stop the Trevenant. "Not you Trunks. We're going to be training."

Trunks freshly evolved too. He acts just as he always has and cuddles against you. Trevenants have naturally scary faces, but he still manages to be adorable.

Since he's new to evolve and his body is a lot different than before, you're worried about how he'll move.

"Trunks. Go there, now!" you point to a spot in the field. He rushes over there quickly. Each of his legs moves without any visible issue you can see. There doesn't seem to be any problems, but he's not as face or as graceful as he was when he was small and floating.

"Good job Trunks. Now there!" You point somewhere else and he runs.

"Now there!" He's forced to move again.

"Keep going Trunks! Move fast!" Trunks forces himself to go as fast as he can. "Alright, that's enough. Good work."

He's still not as agile as he was, but he can get around. You're sure he'll get there soon. He's already becoming faster in this new body.

"Now I want you to go over there," you point to his original spot, "but no walking."

Trunks looks confused.

"No walking," you repeat. "Find another way. What would Raistlin do?"

This gives Trunks the inspiration he needs to here. He crunches his eyes tightly and focuses. For a long time nothing happens. He does it again. Then again. Soon, he's able to blink out for a half a second. He doesn't move anywhere else, but it's a start.

"Keep working at it!" You should. You're actually a little scared to get too close when he's doing that. What if it goes wrong like a weird sci-fi movie?

You blink and he's gone.

"Trunks?" You look around. "Trunks!"

Ka-Crack! He appears behind you. The rock you were beside earlier is cracked in half.

You fold your arms. "Let's see that again."

You practice it over and over before your satisfied with the result. Each time he does it, you get scared he won't come back. When he does reappear though, he utterly destroys whatever he hits.

Evolved Pokemon are scary! Trunks turns undeniably cute to you after he finishes, but when he blinks away, there's this terrifying grin of confident evil that chills you to the bone. He's even worse in the split second he reappears. You know he'll always be your special little guy, but in that moment you completely understand now why some people fear Ghost types. You don't fear for your limbs like what Levi tries to do. You fear for your soul and sanity.

You can't wait to unleash him in a battle.

It's Destiny's turn!

You pick her up and spin her. She froths out bubbles as her usual sign of happiness. "Let's learn Ice Beam today."

There's something special about all of your Pokemon. You're sure every trainer says that, but you really believe it. The small Horsea your holding learned Outrage all on her own, but it's more than that. They really do feel like family lately. You feel like nothing can go wrong. Robin said she loves you, your training is going great, you don't have any money troubles or bullies making life harder, and even your friends all seem generally happier than ever.

"Basically, what you need to do is the opposite of Scald." You hope that makes sense, or even that it works that way. "Don't use your inner heat. Ice Beam isn't like that."

With a little bit of practice, you have Destiny shooting thin streams of cold water. There's no real magic bullet or epiphany, just hard practice for this one.

"Again. Keep trying."

Again, cold water. It's colder at least.

This is tiring. The other Pokemon learned moves they were naturally inclined to. Destiny is taking on a move outside of her natural ones, so it's harder. You take a small break, let her rest, then keep going.

It takes awhile, but she's starting to shoot thin beams of ice. It's not nearly as impressive as the small video display in Robin's Pokedex, but it's definitely Ice Beam.

"Good job Destiny! Keep practicing that." Just as you say that, Vlad flies overhead to harass her again. He narrowly misses a surprise Ice Beam when he comes around a second time. Looks like she won't need any more motivation to keep working on it.

You turn your attention to your Tyrunt. "Nibbles! Your turn! Come over here." He's playing with Devon and Cranidos who is being given a break from Vance's training. He's working his Pokemon hard today. You see Robin is doing the same too.

Nibbles runs over and roars his cute little roar. You remember how he took on Eddie's Gyarados. He may be cute, but he's also a fierce scrapper when it comes to it.

His bite is nothing to mess with. The elemental Fang moves might be tricky, but probably worth it in the long run.

"Let's work those jaw muscles! We'll work on Crunch. Are you ready?"

He roars again.

This is another one of those cases where you don't have all that much insight or inspiration to give. It's just plain old practice. Crunch comes fairly easily to him. That's no surprise, it's a lot like bite. You keep having to reference Robin's Pokedex to find the subtle differences and make sure he's not just doing a weird Bite instead.

He's definitely using Crunch though. Because most of the moves you've been working on are ones that your Pokemon are naturally inclined towards, you have a little extra time.

You spend the extra time on Thunderfang and Poison Fang. Those are much more slow going. Even with Devon helping out, you don't make that much progress. Still, it's a foothold.

You've actually gotten a lot done today.

Robin surprises you with a kiss on the cheek from behind. "Are you feeling as accomplished as me?"

You kiss her back. "I am."

She blushes when she notices Vance and Jeanine looking your way. She still gets hung up on letting other people see you together. At least when she's sober.

Those two look like they got a lot done too. Same with Dan and Golem. Robin took Golem away to practice a move for a bit earlier. You didn't pay it much mind. She must be planning on using him in the gym though.

Vance has a lot of energy. He's used to long training sessions. "So, ready for that match?"

I just wanted you to know Gobble, that you inspired me to play Pokemon again. So last week I dug out my copy of X to see what adventures await.

When I started playing it, I discovered that I had in my party a lv 80 Charizard, two Pikachu, and a Bidoof named 'Capt America'.

I also had two full boxes of min-maxed lv 1 Squirtles, 1 badge, sixty hours of play time, and according to the Pokedex had never owned one of this generation's starter pokemon.

So I'm kinda wondering what the fuck I was DOING when I last played pokemon as I started a new, hopefully saner game.

Part of you wants to do a quick one on one because of all the training taking it's toll, but a three on three battle will really work to help find and iron out any issues. "Let's do three Pokemon each."

Vance strokes his imaginary beard. "That sounds good to me. Jeanine and I have been working out some great strategies. Don't think this will be a cakewalk."

No, you're pretty sure you'll be able to handle him easily. Vance is your friend and his Pokemon are all strong, but you don't think he'll catch up with just a day of training. Especially not with the gains you've been making lately. You don't want to crush his confidence though, so you stow the trash talk for now.

You'd probably feel weird betting money with Vance, but he is acting pretty cocky. Maybe you can make a different kind of bet to keep it interesting and make sure he takes it seriously.

Shit like this.

moot said captcha was a necessary evil when it was implemented, and would cause minimal problems. This was true.

Some people bitched, and he made the incredibly intelligent move to monetize a bypass option for the Captcha.

But now almost every goddamn day captcha gets more frustrating and retarded. For a week I couldn't post because it gave me nothing but colored stripes.

And you know when these issues started? About two weeks after the pass became a thing. If moot wants to make the site subscribers only, that's fine. but a facade of free functionality going into the shitter every six hours and getting taunted by the possibility of the pass makes me wanna commit violent actions.

"Want to make it interesting?" You probe him. While the whole point of this battle is to give Vance experience with battling, you also have an ulterior motive.

He eyes you suspiciously. "What do you have in mind?"

"If I win, you do that thing we talked about, immediately." You smirk to emphasize the last word.. There's definite fear in Vance's eyes, but he doesn't recoil. Good. Battling is about facing your fears. Alright, maybe you're making stuff up in your own head because you feel like the cool experience kid again just like you used to at the orphanage, but it's true.

Jeanine arches an eyebrow, but doesn't say anything.

Vance mulls it over. "What if I win?"

You hadn't considered that. He already promised he'd ask her out, just not right away.

You don't know. You shrug. "Well... What do you want?" You're down for a whole lot.

Vance thinks really hard. You can tell he wasn't expecting that. You're usually the one to set the tone and make demands.

You take off your extra top layer, revealing your bare arms. It's warmer here than you realized. Vance is smiling. Why is he smiling?

"If I win, you have to work out with me every morning."

It's your turn to look suspicious. "Why?"

"To be perfectly honest Kat, I think you could use some upper body strength and work on your core muscles."

You can't help it when you look down on your body. You're not fat or flabby or anything. Are you? You're not sure if you should be insulted. "What about my Pokemon training? What if I get all huge?"

He laughs. "One, you'll just have to get up at the same time as everyone else. Two, you won't get huge by accident. Trust me."

"Well..." You look to Jeanine and Robin. Jeanine's expressions says she's actually for it. Robin just gives a look that says 'whatever you want.' What, do they think you lack discipline or something? You could keep up with Vance if you really tried. Probably. How hard could it be? "Alright. Fine." You don't plan on losing. You'll beat him, sleep in, and enjoy breakfast pancakes just like you have been so far. Sleeping in is a joy of life.

There's one last thing you want to decide before starting. Vance isn't nearly as experience a trainer as you are. Maybe you're getting a little too full of yourself, but you have three badges and some fully evolved Pokemon. It wouldn't be an insult to send your Pokemon out first and let him choose his Pokemon after.

You throw your Pokemon out at the same time.

"Go Ursaring!"

"Go Destiny!"

Ursaring roars and bares her claws and teeth. It isn't the uncontrolled show you've seen her do before. It's intentional, practiced. Disciplined. She doesn't charge or try to do anything other than wait for her orders. She's come a long way.

Destiny bubbles in happiness. She's come a long way too, but it's not as obvious.

"Ursaring! Hit it with Slash!"

"Smokescreen! Quick!"

Ursaring closes in with a powerful, wide slash, but at the very last second a cloud of smoke collides with her face and she misses by a hair.

Close call. If that connected, it probably would have done a number on the little Horsea. Just because Ursaring doesn't have that much trainer battle experience doesn't mean she doesn't know how to lay on the pain.

Vance doesn't look concerned.

You're not too worried about actually losing. You decide it's a good time to make sure Destiny's latest move is battle ready. "Ice Beam!"

Destiny digs deep and fires a small thin beam of ice. It connects just for a second before breaking into smaller shards. It wasn't a failure, but it wasn't as powerful as you hoped.

"Feint Attack!" Vance orders Ursaring stops trying to clear the smoke with her pawns and bursts into action. She approaches Destiny slowly, causing her to drop her guard. The second Destiny hesitates, Ursaring lands a powerful blow that knocks Destiny clear into the air.

You have a plan! Feint Attack might be accurate, but even Ursaring has to have a limit. "Use Smokescreen again!" You'll follow up with a Signal Beam as soon as she's done.

Vance yells. "I told you not to go easy on me! Ursaring! Feint Attack, again!"

The large bear leaps into the smoke cloud. You don't see what happens, but you hear it. There's a loud Whomp noise and Destiny comes flying by up again. This time she's sailing even higher than before.

The field just has grass and a few boulders. The trees are too far away to have any impact. There's nowhere for her to land.

Ursaring doesn't land gracefully. Her large heavy body stumbles and hits the dirt. It isn't all that damaging, but it still looked like it hurt a little.

Destiny is just about to reach her higher apex. You weren't able to get the extra quick Signal Beam off yet.

The small Horsea might not be able to take a third Feint Attack.

"Outrage! Let's go!" The small blue Pokemon rights herself as she begins to descend. A deep purple aura surrounds her and she fires off at Ursaring like a canonball. The hit lands right in the ring target on Ursaring's midsection. Ursaring holds herself in pain. She looks like she's going to topple over.

She doesn't though. She's clearly hurt, but she stands up straight as Destiny bounces off of her. "Feint Attack! One more time!" The thing you notice about Feint Attack is it looks a little different each time. For example, this time it's a solid elbow.

Destiny is struck on the head and sent right into the ground. Even from here you can see that it was a knockout blow. Ursaring is strong though. She's roughed up badly, but still standing. She lets out a primal roar. It's not the disciplined one you saw when she was first let out.

"Good work Ursaring!" Vance yells to her. She grunts a tired acceptance of his praise.

You can't be losing to Vance. No way are you going to get up early every morning. The orphanage made you get up early and you hated it. Half the upside of sneaking away at night was waking up when you felt like it.

But you have the experience. You see he's readying her Pokeball to take her back for now. It's a smart move. Probably what you'd do, except you wouldn't be so obvious about it.

These are the things a trainers experience teaches them. If you're quick, you might get a surprise blow on whoever he's going to send out next. All you know for sure is that the next Pokemon you send out won't be facing his hurt Ursaring. At least his strongest Pokemon is all but taken out.

"Sorry Destiny. You did great. You deserve a good rest." You take her back. It wasn't her fault. She really did make you proud. "Vlad! Come on out!"

Vance takes out Ursarings Pokeball and aims it. "Ursaring. Good job. Rest for now." You can hurry and issue a command for Vlad against his next Pokemon before it's out.

It's not like you take turns. It's just that the majority of trainers and Pokemon take the same amount of time to command and complete moves. You've always been fast, but now that you're feeling more comfortable and confident battling, it's something you're slowly able to apply to battles.

Maybe if you practice it, you can pull off moves significantly faster than other trainers. Didn't Robin mention the Ampberg gym leader is famous for sometimes acting twice as fast as his opponents? Maybe you'll get that fast and good with practice or specific training. Or maybe you'll decide to go a different route instead. Who knows? That's still a little more advanced than where you're at.

He's about to send the next Pokemon out. You'll have time to give Vlad a command, but you can't wait to see who it'll be.

You act quickly. "Vlad! Use Swift!"

Vlad fires the unerring stars at Stunky. They connect without fanfare. It's a safe, reliable bit of damage.

"Stunky! Screech! Don't try to move, just Screech!"

Stunky looks confused, but he manages to listen. The harsh, high pitched noise feels hard on your ears. That's clever! He's taking advantage of Vlad's sensitive hearing! Vlad's distance probably gave him a bit of a buffer.

Stunky is still confused. Vance might not get so lucky a second time in a row.

"Swift again! Don't let up!" Vlad begins to follow through with another Swift. You're glad you taught him it. It's come in handy a surprising amount.

Before the move finishes though, Vance quickly switches out Stunk and replaces him with Sneasel. The Swift lands, but it looks like it hurt Sneasel a little less than it was hurting Stunky. He still looks upset though. "Shake it off in there Stunky."

Vance grits his teeth. This must be a gamble for him. He let Vlad get in a free shot on Sneasel for that switch.

"Vlad! Come back! Dan, you're up!" You make the switch as quick as possible, wasting no time. If that was a gamble for Vance, you want to throw as big a wrench in it as possible for him.

Vance issues his command while you're doing that. "Taunt! Just like we practiced with Jeanine!"

Dan's usual calm demeanor vanishes at the sight of Sneasel making obscene gestures. Dan readies himself to attack.

Vance really is stepping up his game. Since he's practicing to take on his sister, you're sure he's been pushing himself to improve. You look up to Jeanine to see how much she was involved. She flashes you her Pokedex and a smile.

Well, it doesn't matter. He's shown some impressive tricks, but he's locked Machop out. You can rely on Dan for this.

Dan wiggles a little, but it's much less pronounced than before. As long as you don't ask him to do anything too complicated or fancy, he'll probably be fine.

"Sneasel, use Feint Attack!"

Do all of his Pokemon have that move? That's frustrating. Sneasel moves in with speed that can approaches Vlad's level, and delivers a strong uppercut. It makes a loud TONG as it connects with Dan.

While it didn't look all that strong against Zappy Dan's mighty defense, it was a direct it.

"You're lucky we haven't had a chance to practice Brick Break yet. It was next on my list."

You ignore him. Ifs and Buts don't matter to you. "Mirror Shot! Do your best!" You can take a gamble too.

Dan spins his magnets in preperation. One magnet moves faster though, and he spins out.

To his credit, he's able to right himself quickly. Still, a lot of time has been lost. Vance is preparing another attack.

"Sneasel! Hit it with Screech!"

Do all of his Pokemon know that move too? Stunky, Ursaring, and Sneasel have a lot of overlap. You cover your ears, but the sound still puts your neck hairs up.

"It doesn't matter Dan! Hit back with Thunderbolt! Give it all you've got!"

Dan charges up and fires an amazingly powerful blast. The power sends him back nearly a foot and his aim goes wild. The Thunderbolt blows up a trial of dirt in a line. Only for a second though. Dan does the same rebalancing maneuver you saw him practice against Golem. He focuses the remaining power of the Thunderbolt on Sneasel. If he hadn't spent the day on that, who knows where his aim would have ended up.

It's a powerful attack. Even without any type advantage, Sneasel is blown away.

Still, because Dan wasn't able to lay into him with full power, Sneasel isn't entirely out.

"You've got to me kidding me," you murmur.

Sneasel falls over. He looked like he might be more unwilling to keep fighting in his condition than actually fainting, but it's good enough.

Vance retrieves Sneasel. "Good job buddy. Thank you." He looks to you. "It's not over yet. Go Ursaring!"

The bear appears once more. It's still in rough shape, but he needs something that can hit hard against Dan.

Dan fires off a tiny arc of electricity into the ground as he faces Ursaring. He still looks mad from that Taunt.

"Ursaring! Hit him with Feint Attack!"

"Dan! Thunderbolt!"

Feint Attack's main advantage is that it's one of the types of moves that Dan doesn't resist. There's a resonating WANG as Ursaring connects the powerful blow, then the loud snap of electricity as Dan fires back with Thunderbolt.

Both Pokemon fall on top of each other.

Unbelievable. Vance is really giving you a run for your money.

Vance retrieves Ursaring. "Thanks girl. You really went all out for me."

You're about to retrieve Dan too when you see him slowly rise up to levitate a few inches. Even after all that, he's still able to press on.

Must be the benefits of that defensive training you've been doing. Small electrical sparks arc off of him. They look weaker and less controlled than before.

Vance throws out his last Pokemon. "We can still win this Stunky. Stay positive!"

Van your sister is going to slap your shit so hard if you have no move other than the most basic attack move.
>>

>Explosion. You're pretty much guaranteed to take out Stunky and win this
We may want to take cover.

That was only two hits, right? Not as tanky as expected.

Good job Dan, time to take a little nap.
>>
>>31554966
Well, dark isn't 1/2 effectiveness against steel (anymore) and Dan was under the effects of screech as well
>>

>>Explosion. You're pretty much guaranteed to take out Stunky and win this
Dan is barely standing, he deserves a rest after a hard day of practice and a battle. May as well take the opponent out while going to sleep.
>>
>>31554948
>>Sonic Boom, reliable and safe
You guys are jerks. Don't you want to get swole?
>>

And Dan likes it, so it's a double win overall.
>>
Can Stunky learn Dig or anything like it cause that would make me laugh.
>>
>>31554992
too much working out is bad for the body, man, because you can tear muscles. Dan has had enough for today, he deserves a nap
>>
>>31554992
swole is state of mind
>>
>>31555031
Tearing muscles is how they grow.
Liquefying muscles is possible and will make you pee blood.
If you ain't peeing blood, though, you do not even lift.
>>
Stunky has Explosion as a levelup move.

What the fuck. How does that work?
>>
Question Gobble? How cruel are moves like self-destruct and Explosion considered to be? Because it is basically your pokemon blowing itself up on command. Does it result in a friendship decrease?
>>
>>31555053
it also learns flamethrower
Japan can't into skunks
>>
>>31555056
They are not cruel. The pokemon just goes to sleep.
>>
>>31555056
Go read the archives.

>>31555053
It self destructs with the terrible smell.
>>
>>31555053

GF assumes it has ways of igniting its own farts, either before or after release.

>TFW they will never animate stunky as shooting a flamethrower out of its ass

yes, anon. Zappy Dan is going to run away from us and turn to prostitution to make make ends meet. Soon he'll develop a drug addiction and then he'll OD in truck stop bathroom, cursing your name with his dying breath.

Because we voted to use explosion.
>>
>>31555056
It feels good. Dan likes getting to release that much energy and finally relax
>>
>>31555056
the way it's described here it's just the pokemon releasing massive amounts of energy at once, after which they take a nice long nap to recover from.
>>
>>31555053
You level it up. It learns explosion.

Presumably, it builds up gasses inside its body until the pressure is too great for its body to handle, whereupon the pokemon tears apart to release gasses out of the newly-formed holes.
This, of course, kills it.
Thankfully Pokemon centers can heal death.

In this Quest, what would happen if two trainers used Explosion or a similar move at the same time?

Draw.
>>
>>31555130

the fastest would go first and do damage
if the slower is still up it would explode at nothing

"Dan! Explosion!"

Vance calls out his attack. "Stunky! Use-Wait! Explosion? I surrender! I don't have a counter."

You stop Dan as quick as you can. "Dan! Forget that! Abort! Stop!" You don't know if he can. It's too late. Dan goes off. Vance retrieves Stunky before the explosion reaches him though.

The explosion is...small. Dan gently lowers and falls asleep after expending the last of his energy. Stunky might have been able to hold on. Dan must not be fully charged and at full strength yet. You saw electricity arcing off of him when he was wrestling Golem. Maybe because he uses electromagnetism to balance, and he was having issues with it, he wasn't able to store and release as much power.

The match is over. You've won, but not nearly as comfortably as you assumed. You spent a little time taking risks and exploring options though. You feel that you and your Pokemon learned a lot. If what you saw today was Dan at his weakest...well, you can't wait to get Dan rested at a Pokemon center and back in the game with his practiced balance and control.

Vance runs over to shake your hand. "That was a good match. I think I'll do a little more training before taking on Clair."

>Tell him he's ready. He put up a good fight and you want to encourage him.
>Tell him he needs a lot more practice. It might hurt his confidence, but he's got a ways to go before he's near your level.
>Ignore that. "Well, what are you waiting for. You know the bet!"
>Something else

>>31555056
Just expends almost all of their energy at once. Not harmful to the user, and not considered cruel unless you abuse the hell out of it or never give your Pokemon a chance to do anything else. Voltorbs and Electrodes actually need to do it from time to time.
>>
>>31555094
I was just wondering. I just didn't want to use it that often and to be aware of the long term consequences if there are any. I like to make informed decisions.
>>
>>31555144
>Ignore that. "Well, what are you waiting for. You know the bet!"

we'll give him a full report after his date

imo, he's got the power but lacks depth and variety. I think she'll beat him as he is now.

Tell him to expand his individual pokemon's move pool. He has to many overlapping moves
>>
>>31555144
>Tell him he did good. But he needs a few more cards than spamming Feint Attack to win against her sister. As annoying as it can be, it is not enough to win.

This. His sis definitely has a counter.

>MFW his sister turns out to be a pushover and we've just fallen for rumors and hype
>>
>Kat's advice/critique

He lost when he switched to Sneasel. once Machop went off the board, Dan had nothing to stop him. IMO, should have switched back to Ursaring and tried his luck there.

Good choice with taunt. shows knowledge of his opponent and I wager he knows his sister quite well (safe bets are best bets). Destiny proved he can capitalize on opponents mistakes.

he's almost ready. a little more polish. maybe add to the move pool to shake it up a little.
