Welcome to Academy City. The time is late night, the weather is chilling and the date is August 8.

You are Kyril Torikov, ‘Level 2’ Telekinetic Child Error and you are sitting in silence in your room. The job was successful if you thought purely in the outcome. Deep Blood, which turned out to be a girl by the name of Himegami, was secured safely and unharmed. However the cost to do so was apparently two of your own. Sivan and Stiyl’s dots on the map had disappeared along with the four towers of Misawa Cram School. Chances were good that they were dead.

Kaoru, Touma and Himegami had gotten out of the area as fast they could. They didn’t want to be there when the authorities arrived for good reason. The news feed on your phone was blowing up with news of the ‘meteor crash’ as many were calling it. From your balcony you could see the rising cloud of smoke coming from the district. Grainy clips on the news streams clearly showed a figured standing amidst the flames and now the anchors and journalists were speculating on this possible ‘alien’ life form. There wasn’t anything quick and quiet about your job at all.

The three arrived at your dorm room in silence.

You looked at Touma who seemed to want to say something regarding the job he was thrust in to. Honestly he was holding up okay though you’re pretty sure the shock was going to wear off soon.

“You people are crazy,” he turned to Kaoru, “Was it worth it?”

“I do not wish to put lives on a scale but yes, it was,” Kaoru replied.

She was shaking as she said that.

“Sivan and the Anglican knew the risks they were taking as magicians,” she continued as tears started forming, “My only regret is that we could not save the students and teachers as well.”

You wanted to say that she did the best she could but you’re not sure yourself if that was actually true. Perhaps there was something you could have done instead that could have saved Sivan and Stiyl. However what was done was done. These things happen, you thought as Touma tried to reassure her with a hug. Himegami remained silent as if the whole affair wasn’t at all about her.

Then there was a knock at your door. It was quiet but you heard and left to answer it. You couldn’t quite see through the peephole at your condition but you opened it anyway. Standing at the door was Teacher. You could smell the smoke and the fire on him, not to mention see the slight singeing of his clothes.

“Evening kid, can I come in?”

You only rolled backwards to let him in before closing the door with a gently push of TK. Kaoru froze as she noticed him. The other two remained outwardly neutral though you were sure Kamijou was confused as to why the man you had warned against was now in your home.

“Good evening, I’m sorry if this is a bad time,” he spoke to the assembled, “I am here to speak with Deep Blood and my student.”

“You’re Teacher?” Kamijou wasn’t too surprised.

“That’s what I call myself nowadays,” he answered before turning to Himegami, “I see the Anglicans have laid claim to you. Well I guess that answers one of my questions.”

“And what question is that?” Himegami finally spoke.

“Whether you wished to surrender yourself in to my care,” Teacher replied, “The curse of Deep Blood is no joke.”

“She will be perfectly fine where she is,” Kaoru interjected.

“That she will,” Teacher now turned to you, “I hope you haven’t forgotten your homework.”

You haven’t. You remembered exactly what he wanted to know. What was it that you fought for? What was it that you killed for? Those were the two questions that he wanted answered before he left. If he was reminding you now that only meant that he was going to leave soon.

“Kid, I’ve just become persona non grata in Academy City and if I’m not gone in 24 hours then they’re going to bring out the big guns and damn the consequences,” Teacher seemed to read your mind, “So I’ll ask again, what are you fighting for? What are you killing for?”

I hate to sound like an edge lord but the reason we've being fighting more often than not is because we want to/because we can. Violence is just a natural response to Kyril.
>>
>>31583865
It does seem like Kyril mostly gets into fights either for fun or because he didn't have a choice in the matter.

lemme try articulating this

"I'd like to say I fight for Justice or defending people important to me or something heroic like that. But that would be a lie. I grew up angry and lacking consistent adult supervision. Violence was a great outlet and it still kind of is. Its shallow and kind of pathetic but its the truth. I fight because I can, a good cause is just a bonus. I don't really care for killing all that much though.I'd rather not go that far if I can help it. It's little heavy for my tastes"
>>
We could bullshit and say that we fight to improve ourselves. Status in Academy City is largely linked with Esper level and fighting is a good way to raise it. So we're simply trying to survive and improve our lot in life.

The questions were certainly hard for you to answer. You hadn’t sat down to contemplate it as much as you could. Just off the top of your head you recall that you got in to most of your fights because you wanted to, or because you could. It was easy as that. Did that make it a good reason? You weren’t sure but he wasn’t asking about that.

“Would friends and family be a cliché choice?” you asked.

“No, but it’s the most common,” Teacher replied and urged you to continue.

“I'd like to say I fight for Justice or defending people important to me or something heroic like that but that would be a lie,” you started again, “I grew up angry without real parents. Violence was a great outlet and it still kind of is. It’s shallow and kind of pathetic but it’s the truth. I fight because I can. A good cause is just a bonus. I don't really care for killing all that much though. I'd rather not go that far if I can help it.”

Teacher nodded, appreciative of your answer. There was a mix of reactions to you answers. They mostly didn’t expect such a frank admission though.

“That’s a start,” Teacher finally spoke, “The lesson here is forethought. I wanted you to think about them because often these motivations will drive you to act and your acts will have consequences. People are the same. What do they want, how will they act and what effect will their actions have? It’ll help you in a fight, and it’ll help you in life too.”

“Well looks like I’m done here,” Teacher said, “Though since I can’t stay and teach you’ll have to give me a call when you leave Academy City. We can resume then. Be well my student.”

He was starting to leave though it didn’t look like he was in a hurry. Now would be a great time to ask him your own questions.

“Could this all have been prevented?” you stopped him, “About Reina that is.”

Himegami stiffened at the mention of that name whilst Teacher’s shoulders sagged.

“No,” he said quietly, “We were already too late, before I even met you.”

“What about the meteor? Was that you or?”

“Yes that was me. Me and my pointless revenge couldn’t be stopped even if you tried,” he admitted, “I suppose that’s why I’m leaving. If it were just any old meteorite they’d only just slap me on my wrist.”

“One last thing, what about my eyes?” you asked.

“What about them?” he replied, “Did you want them removed?”

“No, not that, do you think there’s a way to enhance them?”

“Nothing permanent that also won’t kill you,” Teacher shook his head, “I don’t know as much about it as you do honestly. Observe, experiment, draw your own conclusions. This is a city of science isn’t it?”

“Sorry I wasn’t much help then,” you nodded towards him, “Have a good trip Teacher.”

“Don’t worry about it,” he didn’t turn back as he walked out the door.

With a weak click, the door was shut and the awkward silence returned.

“Well I think I’m going to bed,” Touma broke the silence, “It’s been a long day.”

Your painkillers had worn off in the meantime as well.

“I agree,” Kaoru took Himegami by her hand, “I will need to find Himegami-san lodging among other things. Thank you Torikov-san for you aid. Be sure to check your accounts tomorrow afternoon.”

You’ve woken up in your bed for what seems like a long time but really it’s only been a few days. Your injuries are reminding you constantly of them so you grab your jar of medication and down a pill before slowly getting out of bed. The doc was right to say you weren’t even ready for walking with the way your wounds were. A painful but brief moment of settling in to your wheelchair later, you get to working on breakfast. However it seems like your forgot something.

You recall that Kaoru took a video of you and Touma cooking yesterday. Despite not wanting to remember, the last volume of ‘Fowl Gods’ had a two-page spread of you receiving a pat on the head from Touma. That alone was mightily suspicious and if you were a paranoid chap you’d suspect that Kaoru was in cahoots with Nunotaba. There was nothing that could possibly go wrong at all if you left her alone with the video.

Rather you were more concerned with Asuka’s promise. Well she didn’t explicitly give you a promise per se but you were pretty sure her intentions were clear enough that they might as well be. She was going to quote, “take care of you.” If you were lucky you might survive and grow stronger from it. You almost dropped your plates when your doorbell rang.

“Good morning dear,” Asuka greeted you with daggers in her eyes, “How are you today?”

“Fine,” you wondered what she was on about now.

“Then perhaps you can explain to me what this is.”

She slapped a newspaper down on your lap before storming in to your kitchen. You were in the middle of making breakfast but it was slow going when the counter top was so high. On the front page was an article about the destruction of Misawa Cram School.

“It wasn’t me,” you declared and rolled back in to the room.

“Of course it was not you dear,” she replied as if chastising you, “I do not think you had the raw power to pull satellites out of orbit. However, you might know someone who does.”

It’s a good thing she allowed you to think over your answer as she completed the breakfast preparations. When she was done serving breakfast she sat opposite you and rested her chin on her knuckles as if waiting for you to speak. The last time you tried giving her the full truth she looked at you like you had lost your marbles. It would be best to give her only the salient points though you were curious why she was asking.

“You’re not just going to make me?” you asked first.

“Of course not,” she answered, “If I made you own up to the truth, your truth may not necessarily be true.”

“Alright,” you took a sip of tea, “Well when a man and a woman love each other very much.”

Asuka’s glare intensified.

“They get married,” you continued, “And when a man finds the one responsible for the death of his wife, he goes out and gets revenge. In this case, the man’s name was Teacher, a, well teacher of mine.”

“Teacher, Teacher,” Asuka mused, “Where have I heard that name before?”

“He’s really not that important,” you added.

“I would imagine not,” Asuka’s expression returned to amusement, “After all, a man with the means to pluck several satellites from orbit so that it may crash land on a very specific target on the ground is of no importance at all, not to mention his casual disregard for innocent bystanders. Do tell, if he is not important then what is he?”

“A martial arts master,” you replied.

“That aside I had a gander at your bank account information just this morning and I was quite surprised at what I had found,” Asuka said.

“Wait what?” you nearly spat out all your tea.

“My mother always told me that if I could find a young man who made at least eight digits without trafficking guns, drugs or slaves, was probably a keeper,” she smirked, “Though that just may be half the reason she married my father speaking.”

Putting aside the issue of her actually looking through your financial situation you weren’t sure where she was going with this.

“And before you ask yes, my mother loved my father very much,” she was enjoying this, “The reason I bring this up is because you are actually now quite rich for a first year high school student. Enough that people may be tempted by your wealth.”

“Hold up,” you checked up on your savings.

True to her words, with Kaoru’s job being added, you were now comfortably rich. In fact you could buy a sports car and then some with kind of money.

“So you’re all hot and bothered for some fiscal responsibility now?” you asked her.

“No, I just thought it would be amusing to see your reaction,” she flicked her hair.

“I’m thinking about investing,” you finally decided.

That said you had no idea how you were going to go about doing that. Asuka raised one of her eyebrows in the middle of sipping her tea.

“In that case I would suggest moving the majority of your funds to another account before you do.”

You eyed her, silently asking for her to continue.

“And I may know a few individuals or so that are connect to up and coming businesses which could make for sound investments,” she mercifully continued, “For example, have you heard of the new medical technology company called STUDY Corporation?”

You’ve never heard of them before.

“For a young company they’ve managed to become one of the main suppliers for Anti-Skill.”

As Asuka kept talking and listing other companies you couldn’t bother to remember, your mind started wandering about what to do with the money. Screw stocks what about property? How much did Cypress Park cost to run. Hell why stop at places, what about people? Maybe Nunotaba could use some cash for research. Or what if you could pay bail for Kurozuma? Did he even have bail? What about your future? You’ll hopefully graduate on time and then you’ll be attending university and graduating from that. What then? Travel the world and go see Teacher? There were honestly too many options.

“You do not have to decide now,” Asuka’s words drew you back, “I think if you were really serious I am able to get you some more information.”

Between the two of you, Asuka was the expert on this matter and you deferred to her judgement. It didn’t take long for you to clean up the plates so that you could actually go to the bank. You also asked her to help you investigate the companies on the market. It wasn’t a local branch that you used. This bank was actually a foreign one, made especially for offshore banking and served plenty of expatriates and diplomats who were living in Academy City. It was still early in the morning so there were few customers. Sweeping the bank, you note details that stuck out such as where the cameras were. The guards don’t pay any attention to the young man in the wheel chair as you took a number and started filling forms. That they seemed to disappear in to one of the back rooms warranted little notice.

There existed a state between pleasure and emptiness after having finished a work of art. That’s what you, Nunotaba Shinobu, were now feeling after having released the second volume of your hit yaoi manga series titled ‘Fowl Gods’. You think it was a rather clever play on words on multiple levels though you obviously had to alter the names of the characters somewhat to avoid unnecessary trouble. Any resemblances to peoples, living, dead or fictional were purely coincidental after all.

That creative spark was gone, like a hunger that had been sated, which made you both content and saddened. The former was because of the near universal acclaim you were showered with amongst your target audience and the latter because now you actually had nothing within your imagination that could satisfy you. Times like these meant you needed inspiration and that meant trawling through your forums. There were several posters who frequented your forum that had been very inspirational with the material they gathered for you. Oh look, there were some new topics today.

Besides, Whiteknight247 has never failed you before given that they provided you with a picture that inspired the scene that graced the two-page spread of your latest volume. Truly your agents were everywhere doing everything. What surprise did she have in store for you this time?

It was the picture of a young man dressed in some Middle Eastern attire. He also had a hat but that took secondary importance to who said young man was talking to. He was talking to the Tori-kun lookalike. It was actually Kyril to be honest but you couldn’t separate the name you gave his stand-in from him no matter how hard you tried really. The photos showed the both of them disappearing in to Tori-kun’s apartment. Further information revealed that they were apparently sharing and that the young man had arrived from Turkey. You knew what this meant. They were,

Oil wrestling, get the shy one involved as well. They could have used the excuse to try to teach him 'confidence'.
>>
They were hunting vampires. The brief thought entered your brain before you remembered you had better things to do that fantasise about them frolicking through the night like a modern Van Helsing. Rather there was only one conceivable thing they could be doing within the context of your work. They would be oil wrestling.

Of course it’d all start out innocently. After all, it was a suitable challenge to Tori-kun’s manhood if you’ve ever seen one. You’ve even looked up the kind of oil that they used for wrestling for that extra bit of authenticity. You could see it now, them tussling and turning, grunting and groaning as they tried to get the best of the other. Their sweat and oil, indecently mixing as the more experienced man won the day. Then the winner shall claim his prize. To the victors the spoils and this one would plunder relentlessly. His assault was as ferocious as his skill at wrestling. For now you couldn't decide who would be the winner but it sufficed for now that you had an idea for one chapter. It was only one out of many more to come.

Whiteknight247 delivered and you were wondering what kind of treat you were in for. It was a video. It was a goddamned video! This was more than you could have asked for. You’re not even sure what they did to be able to take this or why Tori-kun did not seem to mind her doing this. The scene was particularly endearing as it seemed that Tori-kun seemed to have injured himself. Seated in a wheelchair, he was assisted by Kami-kun, the nickname you chose for Kamijou Touma’s character. Surprised by the domestic skills of Tori-kun, you decided that his position as the seme may be up for review.

However you could not rush this. This veritable goldmine was plenty of inspiration but you could not rush this. Yes, it was easy to play on the injuries of Tori-kun, probably involve some misadventure with his Middle Eastern acquaintance. Then a dark and devious thought entered your head. It was delicious but also quite possibly controversial but the decision had to be made. Were you willing to introduce NTR in to the mix?

I know what NTR is I just never thought we'd get to this point with The stories
>>
There clearly was a point that you had gone past even contemplating it but you were going to keep going, just to see what happens. Thus you weaved the next part of the tale, before the accident that put Tori-kun in a wheelchair. You needed a name for the Middle Easterner though. Well let’s call him Abdul for now. Yes, that sounded good. Thus a flashback scenario here would work. Kami-kun would never suspect it as Tori-kun was bent over the very same counter top they were making food, crying out in both pain and pleasure. The betrayal and guilt only heightening the pleasure he found the deed in. It was dirty but it was something he did not deny, could not deny. This wouldn’t be the only time though.

Here Ma5ter5park’s idea about using redheads came in to play. In fact, the photo that she had captured only made you think of further ways to corrupt. Maybe if he was a priest? It made sense, given that Tori-kun was clearly not ethnic Japanese. Yes, the betrayal drove him to confess his sins to a priest. And taking advantage of his vulnerability the perverse priest would indulge masking it under the veneer of purification. You could work with this, yes you could.

Interlude end. Let’s return on Tuesday.

Loads of money. Time to make obvious references. What have your careless hands wrought? When writefag and /tg/ meet the story begins.
I’ll be around for a bit today.

We couldn't have stopped it. Teahcer is so far beyond us it's funny, we weren't physically present and the man himself said that he'd let nothing get in the way of his vengeance.

When there's is absolutely nothing you could've done to change something there's really no point worrying about it y'know? I mean shit it sucks they died but we didn't do it and we couldn't stop it so leave it be y'know?
