OPENING

Previously: A Young Rocket went on a rescue mission to save civilian lives from a shipwreck out at sea. To her surprise and dismay, the ship's repel-tech system had been compromised by a breach in the hull, setting the stage for unknowns to lurk within.

After witnessing an older ranger die in a split second, the young Rocket committed to killing the perpetrator and following another to the source.
Meeting with an Esper leader of the brutal sea monsters, the young rocket attempted to talk down the hostiles, interrupted by the intrusion of a Tentacruel that sought to drown the ship.

Escaping with her life and her friend, the Young Rocket was swept away be a powerful underwater current to a land far and unknown.

Awaking upon a beach, she found herself to be lost and alone. In seeking out her friend, she met Kurojo of the Kahkori and his mentor, Mukon. As fortune would have it, the friendly humanoid "monsters" led her to their home, Kakarkiko village with promises of assistance in finding her friend.

Spending too much time idling, sunset caught them by surprise and the Young Rocket, along with a scared young boy set out into the dark. Finding her friend, and slaying the dreaded Nar-Kage in the process of return, she secured her new friend's position as a man and hunter, while making a name for herself amongst the tribe.

Though she fell ill, it is soon time for her to awaken to continue finding her way home!

Flying upon the back of a monster, Tropius, The Young Rocket's party flew to a settlement called Ferri village upon another island! There, she meet the Ferrines, and enjoys a hot bath after killing a burrow of Pikachu!

You shift in the bath, the warmth of the hot coals below rises up through the pot, tickling your body with heat. You'd read that Ice-types tended to dislike the heat, but it hasn't really been all that bad for you. So long as you're not in it for too long.
You slip on over to Kurojo's back, feeling warm, and not just from the bath. For a moment you really just want to wrap your arms around him... But why?

Taking in a deep breath, you place your palms upon his back, claws retracted and mimic some of those movements that he performed on you. You breath deep into his muscle tissue, transferring soothing waves of aura pulses, soon turning him into putty beneath your ministrations as he relaxes into your touches.

His back is firm, strong and his body is solid while still being lean. A perfect example of a body built for speed and toned through martial arts. Yet there is a frailty there too.
A solid hit from a big enough monster and... Well, only Marine would be able to tough something like that out anyway.

“Sheru is good at this.” He pays a compliment with his beak partway open, lost in the feeling.

“Th-thank you Kurojo.” You mumble to yourself, stopping for a moment with your hands resting against his downy red and yellow feathers.
“You're really pretty Kurojo.” You smile. You suddenly set your ears low as you blush really hard, biting your lip a bit. You didn't mean to say that. What'll he think of tha-

“You're very pretty too Sheru.” He says without hesitation. You feel him shift in the water, turning around to bring a scaly knuckle to your cheek, touching gently.

“Kurojo?” You lower your brow in confusion, touching your cheek as he pulls his hand back, reclining back into the bath. Lowering your head, you have a lot of confused feelings well up inside. Sure, you told yourself that the Kahkori were people.
They're people but... What would the dome think?
>>
>>31630176
Nice that you've got this stuff already pre-written.
>>
oh crap oh geez we're live already and marine hasn't gotten a bath yet
>>
>>31630140
>>31630176
Heh. I love that this Aura stuff, while being a key part of how they fight and survive, also makes the world's best massage.
>>
>>31630176
Think about all the crushes you have back home, ceru.

Ignore the birdman.
>>
>>31630140
Oh, I was archiving the thread just now when I saw that it had already been done. Then I saw that you probably did it yourself.

Shame. I was planning to be more subtle about the lewd implications. NOW THE JOKE IS RUINED.

>>31630216
Speaking of Marine, does she even know that Ceru took a bath with Kurojo?
>>
>Ingenuity(20): Modifies (+5) to any kind of thinking, technique creation, or technique combination roll.
That do something special like Charm does?
>>
>>31630254
It adds to special attacks like tenacity does to physical attacks. Also applies for when performing concerted maneuvers that have been planned with team members.
>>
>>31630176
>They're people but... What would the dome think?
Well, Bruno is one of the Elite Four, so...

Also, does he even grafts?
>>
>>Vacuum Wave(2): A quick strick that uses the air itself as a conduit for the aura. It hits quick and from afar, delivering damage. <Aura>

Would it be possible to indicate that VW gets a boost from H2h rank? It just seems like something that should be there. Also, it says "strick" instead of strike.
>>
>>31630242

Realisticly, we're never going to decide if we try to vote for consensus.

Devon is my favorite, but Kurojo has more plot hooks
>>
>>31630242
Well, if nothing else, this experience provides a transitional point for that facet of Ceru's character.

>>31630303
Yeah. He did impress the Machop people with FEATS OF INHUMAN STRENGTH, after all.
>>
>>31630275
I meant the rank 20 thing. Charm gets the autosuccess against nonhostile sentients that have low enough Cha/Ten. I was just wondering if Ing does something similar.
>>
>>31630353
Oh, Prof probably hasn't thought of one yet since he converted our Perception points into Ingenuity on the spur of the moment.
>>
>>31630339

>>
>>31630342
>Yeah. He did impress the Machop people with FEATS OF INHUMAN STRENGTH, after all.

I thought he was just that good?

Also where would he even get that from except from Machops?
>>
>>31630353

I doubt Ingenuity will be contested as often as charm, it seems mostly to boost your own rolls
>>
>>31630317
Makes sense.

Though Force Palm would fit better.
>>
>>31630395
>Also where would he even get that from except from Machops?
There are other pokemon with superstrength, anon.
>>
“Sheru?” He seems concerned, obviously sensing your welling feelings. He's very calm about it too, at least on the surface. Beneath? You're not sure, your too confused to tell.

Standing up, you feel a foot touch the epicenter of heat and let out a loud yowl in pain before falling back in, sending the water splashing out of the bath.

Some of the ferrines tending coals perk to attention as you try to get up and out of the bath. It's not long before you feel a pair of hands grasp you from underneath your arms and hoist you out of the water, setting you out of the bath.

You thank Kurojo as you plop right down on your rear and blow cold air on your burned foot, trying to sooth the pain. It'll get better if you rest it in the water.

Kurojo follow you out, shaking off some of the water as it runs down his nearly sparkling feathers, his mohawk-like crest too wet to display proudly. “Sheru, are you okay?”

“Y-yeah Kurojo. I just...” You think better of what you're about to say,”Can we go to bed now?”

He nods and chats it up with the Ferrines, some of them seem to be chuckling about your little experience before Kurojo gets back to you,” Sheru, come, they have bed for us.” He seems to consider something else, “Sheru, they're happy that you enjoy water.”

Your ears stand up as you hop to a foot,”What? Why?”

“They shaid that Smorodhans hate it.”

“Oh, uh. Huh. What are they anyway? You just said mean before...” You take an experimental step, nearly hissing at the pain.

“You'll meet in shity. Need help?”

About that. Since Prof said he had REASONS for wanting us not to have Macho Brace with us, I'm thinking he was going to have Bruise evolve while we're out and need the Macho Brace to restrict his strength. Nope. His implant is making him frail as fuck.
>>
You raise up a hand, still feeling that blush beneath your fur, “Yes.” You mewl, and he offers his back to you, allowing you to hop on. Snuggling against his wet feathers, you nuzzle his neck and let yourself relax. At least he's not looking at you...

Marine passes by the two of you with another of the little ferrines leading her to the bath, mowing about as she nods and says, “Uh huh” now and then. She looks to you and Kurojo, stopping suddenly with a curious look in her eyes,”Hey Ceru, Kurojo. What happened?”

“I burnt my foot.” You smile a little painfully, Kurojo nods, stopping as well.

“Ah, I should be careful then too,” Marine giggles as the cat pulls on her trousers, mowling. “She's been talking my ear off...” Marine ruffles her hair, carrying on,”I'll see you in bed Ceru, take care of that foot.”

Kurojo takes you from the bathing chamber and takes you to the common room, large enough for not just ferrines, but their guests. You lay back on a pillow and examine your foot as it quickly turns blue, sighing at the tingling pain running through your foot you ask Kurojo if you could get some water to soak your foot in.
A ferrine soon complies, giving you what must be a basin to them, about a bowl to you. After donning your armor to preserve some modesty you soak your foot while Kurojo examines his blade with some of the ferrines attracted to its shininess.

You feel refreshed from the bath, and when Marine comes around the Ferrines bring you a helping of pikachu meats. Kurojo explains that the ferrines are very good at making food, though you need no convincing to eat the mouse meat, feeling the residual tingle of voltage sacs and battery muscles sparkling in your jaw. It's like eating a meaty soda that melts in your mouth... You can't explain the seasonings, but it's absolutely scrumptious.
>>
>>31631215
The implant doesn't have anything to do with it. He just has normal human body muscles, is all. That's more resistant to poison, apparently.

What was Prof's explanation for that typing advantage, again? Maybe, since mediums apparently gain an increased m-virus count from acting as mediums, one could just say espers produce a certain kind of antibody? Connect the psychic powers more to some sort of biological function.
>>
>>31631238
>“She's been talking my ear off...” Marine ruffles her hair
Does Marine understand what the Ferrine was saying?
>>
>>31631215
I think it's more than he just uses his psychic powers to move himself around instead of actually using his muscles. Like early on, back when we were all training. Fucker just teleports everywhere.

Then he gets muscle atrophy and low, low Tenacity, since he absolutely cannot tough out anything with his weak muscles.
>>
>>31631238
>voltage sacs and battery muscles
Those japanese will eat anything
>>
>>31631238
>examine your foot as it quickly turns blue

Do we legitimately have blue blood because of our Ice Body or something?
>>
>>31631269
That was earlier on in his training, when he was being petulant. Now he's performing the full training course properly. Like a Rocket!

>>31631238
>feeling the residual tingle of voltage sacs and battery muscles sparkling in your jaw
Dragon's Crown did a better job of making food made from dead monsters appetizing.
>>
>>31631300
Yeah. Ceru blushes blue too. Her blood also frosts people on contact. She regulates her own body temperature through the freezer sac array on her body.
>>
>>31631301
What if eating Pikachu is like eating pop rocks?
>>
>>31631328
That's exactly what it's like.
>>
>>31631253

Psychics can probably sense when a poisonous animal is going for the bite and dodge, making the quick strike much less effective.
>>
>>31631339
Delicious.
>>
>>31631253

Psychic powers break the poison's molecules, and/or screws the immune system of poisonous monsters.
>>
Psychic doesn't resist Poison, but it super-effects it.
>>
>>31631347
Nah, that's basically Detect. Psychics don't sense intent, but read minds which Prof is making resistible.

>>31631372
>>31631362
Ah, well, let's just go with this.
>>
>>31631339
so which mon is like coke?
>>
>>31631387
Curing effects in the game are also Psychic-type, or used by Psychics in general. So they still have a defensive advantage over Poison and the like by virtue of techniques.
>>
After taking stock of your equipment, you go to sleep in a pile of dry leaves and grasses. You'll need to wash again in the morning but it feels good sleeping in another new place. Your time away from the dome has been so different...

Morning comes with the sun filtering in through some open holes at the sides of the common lodge.
You stretvh out, tuching a furry ferrine butt that's fallen asleep not far from you. You push another one off of your stomach and shake one off of your leg. Disturbing their sleep as you get up, stretching out and feeling your foot. All better.

You smile.

Kurojo and Marine rise too, brushing off dry grasses. The three of you suit up and greet the morning with a little bit of breakfast courtesy of the ferrines. The one with a black tail and stripes keeps mewling away at Marine, sharing in breakfast with you three as Marine just keeps acknowledging that the little cat's said something. It sure likes to talk her ear off.

Kurojo goes out to check on the Tropius, saying that he'll be a while...

The Ferrine that's been mewling away at Marine, points the two of you at a boat within the village limits.

Well, a swim could be nice...

With Kurojo atteneding to the tropius, you and Marine decude to talk a walk around the village, despite her little friend's mewlings. You sense her disappointment, though it's short-lived. It's weird though, listening to the little cat and hearing it go on about things. You feel that most of it's just about nothing in particular at the least, just a cat happy to have someone to talk to as she meows on and on.

You open up your index and take a picture when she isn't looking, typing in some basic information about the ferrines.
Friendly, willing to trade, don't like freeloaders... Kurojo told you about that last bit. The ferrines only open up when they've been given something first. They don't like promises.

You snap some pictures of the village. The huts made of dirt and grass, further on behind their palisade are some small farmlands being tended to nice and early by some ferrine farmers. It raises up a stink that attacks your nose with the full on force of nature.
Plugging your nose, you quickly extract yourself from the manure sight, headed to another little series of huts.

You take pictures of some females weaving baskets, some kits sleeping all in a pile at their mother's feet as she fletches arrows with her dextrous little paws.
The ferrines don't seem to mind your presence too much overall, which must mean that they see a lot of strangers coming through, at least, after doing something for them.
>>
You notice at one point a black ferrine looking shifty, watching you from afar. You sense that it's sizing you up somehow as you walk through the village. You alert Marine and the little ferrine leading the two of you looks over at the black ones, her fur instantly standing on end as she growls and hisses, hurrying you two away.

You run from the black ones for a bit before the end their chase, seeming to laugh and have their own good little time as they run off. The little striped ferrine runs off and talks to some of the other locals, seeming to inform them of the black ones as you and Marine can only scratch your heads as they start to raise alarm, dashing here and there with little meows.

Huh... Well then.

Wave/Aura. The Nar-kage was feared because it couldn't be sensed, but we'll be fine here. Aside from our implants that let us hunt better, one of Detect's passive uses is to feel for life.

All of our equipment is physically integrated into our harness. The only thing in danger of getting stolen is our supplies for the trip, since we're probably not carrying them around.
>>
Seeing the distress, you run on ahead after the small mob chasing after the black ferrines as Marine calls out to you, surprised by your sudden jump into action.
“Ceru, what are you doing!?”

“They look bad, I'm gonna help. Come on, they fed us!” You call back to your friend as she bedgrudgingly starts to move.

“What even are they? Mina freaked out when she saw them.” The two of you slip around the little huts, and pass up the mob chasing after the laughing black cats as they mark up houses with their claws and knock over vases, snatching baskets of dried food and grasses. It's a small gang of something like twenty of them wreaking havoc where they can before snatching something and running off at the first sign of trouble.

One with a half-bitten ear looks at you with yellow eyes before seeming to smile with its teeth showing. It brings a claw up just below its eyes and pulls down while sticking out a tongue and blowing a razz-berry at you.

This is already a passive ability. So yeah, detection in and of itself IS passive. It's the actual DODGING that needs a stamina cost.

You ignore the thing's taunt and level your gun to it's face, bringing your other up to cover the flank opposite of Marine.

You blast a jet of water across the way, nailing the naughty feline in the head and sending it sprawling back as another jumps at you, swinging staff with a claw at the end of it, your eyes zero in and your free gun aligns to blast that one away too as Marine takes care of things on her own end, spitting out a dark mixture of water and mud, the excess dripping from her mouth.

Another ferrine tries to swipe at her feet, but she meets it early and sends it flying with a kick. You can hear it yelling out with a meow as it's sent blasting off.

The rest of the black ferrines begin to back off as the cavalry of other angry cats arrive. A spitting and hissing match taking place between them as the black ones begin to back off to the palisade. You keep your guns ready in case they decide to attack again...

Once their back finally hits the wall, the black cats realize just how cornered they are and growl angrily.

They open their maws and begin to yowl, raising the pitch to brutally high levels...

You growl deeply in your throat, angry at the fleeing black cats as you push off against the dusty village road and jump off of a hut before vaulting over the palisade, running on through the grass with conviction. Marine projects herself overhead with a blast of her water sac, rolling off the fall as she rolls through the grass to your side.

“Marine, we're getting them!”

“Alright Ceru, how are we doing this?!” She runs on at your side, Rattata darting out of your way as you push through the grass after the bad cats.

Green grasses are cast aside as you make your way after them. You can sense them, feel them even if it's a faint and far-off feeling.

Your pursuit draws you closer, and closer until... You feel something big coming up... but how did you miss that? They're headed right for it.

You stop just short, seeing them swing around one of those duck-billed monsters from before, harrassing it as it tries to shake them off, sweeping its tail across the grasses before you hear a loud mowl, and one of their little black claws pointing in your direction. Another one sidles up right at the monster's heel and slashes it, spurring it onward as one rides upon its head, sending it into a wild frenzy as it charges you!

>Now that they're scared, they'll aggro everything they can on you 'cause they're lil' shits.

Heh. Reminds me of what I do when I'm in a dungeon group that's going poorly due to bads.
Step 1: Warn the teammates who are pulling their weight, that they should probably stand back.
Step 2: PULL ALL THE THING
Step 3: LEAD ALL THE THING TO TEAMMATE
Step 4: Teleport the hell out.

Also, remember: Lock every door possible. People hate when you do that.
I can't count how many people are defeated by the almighty Closing Door boss.
>>
>>31634327
Okay, strategy. Water Gun and Icy Wind to freeze the ground to try and make the monster slip up. Use that chance to fire off icicles at its throat sack.

Marine should fire off a Vacuum Wave at it AS it is slipping to knock it down, then soak it with her Water Gun to increase Icy Wind's effectiveness.
>>
Seems the consensus is freeze the ground and then shoot icicles, aiming at the throat.

Water gun ground+icy wind

There's a sidegame where you take on the role of one of the station's crewmen and you have to do your daily job without dying (to incompetence, random station failure, or murderers) but nobody bothers with it since you'll get banned by the people playing the Admin Abuse main game.

Could we chain together Quick Attack (once it's at rank 3) with Icy Wind so that its debuffs apply immediately? So instead of waiting for the next turn for the debuff to start coming, we could just spend a little extra stamina to get the debuffs in the current turn and proceed normally from there?

The monster charges at you, thrashing about violently as it tumbles toward you through the grass, breathing out a gas from its beak that stings your nostrils even at a distance. You set to work, ejecting as much as you can in a short time frame befoire launcing an icy wind to freeze it over, but it's not working fast enough!

Marine launches a one-two of air distorting aura punches that make the thing flinch, but only slightly as she braces for impact, sensing something amiss.

Bringing its wing-claws together, the Pecu ignites the air, causing a spark that causes the air to burst into flames, igniting that stink and the grasses around you as you're thrown back by the sudden violent burst of fire.

Rolling backward, you feel your hair singe and fray, your flesh burnt and pained even as the thing charges at marine, spitting out more of that gas before igniting it with its wings.

You steady your gun and fire icicles at its throat and head, nailing it good and turning it's attention towards you. It swings a huge fan-like tail to buffet the flames that linger upon the grasses, making them roar even more and sending Marine rolling back before she unfolds herself and buckles down, glancing over at you with her clothes almost entirely set into smolders.

The Bird monster's throat is bloody with the ice already melting in the wound. That red sack's been mostly deflated, though that just seems to make it angrier...

Marine's Gravestone Inscription:

Painful. So, something like getting your arm sliced off, but tailored to reflect the Qapeca's natural weapons. A really hard PECK, maybe. It's beak is large enough to make it really hurt.
>>
>>31636141
You mean the Spire?

In the games and anime, the tombstones are pretty standard fare.

Although, this is an island with a different culture. Wonder what their burial rituals are like. Not that we're going to see that happening to anyone we know.
>>
>>31636202
>Wonder what their burial rituals are like.
Judging from the pikachu, they get buried in OUR BELLY. Or someone else's belly. Either way, OM NOM NOM NOM NOM
>>
>>31636202
Citizens may get a normal burial. Considering that Rangers are most likely going to die outside of the Dome than inside it, they probably just get an inscription. Rangers who live to a ripe old age and die within the Dome? Maybe they get a regular burial. That or they get their bodies burned up, to reflect their solidarity with the other Rangers who did not get the privilege of dying peacefully at home.

This is, of course, discounting whatever specific customs each quarter in the Dome has for mourning the dead. I'm guessing Cerulean Quarter practices a water burial.
>>
>>31636193
It could probably give us a severe burn or blow off a limb with its fire attacks. And it's got a corrosive spit attack that probably works like acid in AoPH. If nothing else, it's big enough to break bones just with a kick or tackle.

>>31636202
...and now I feel dumb for forgetting about the Spire. I just wanted to make a joke, but now I'm just embarrassed.

Depending on our position, we could potentially be in a prime position to kill it. Like, if we're riding on its back, for example. Frost Breath to the brain.

“Marine,” your eyes shift over to your friend as she huffs and puffs, staring down the rampaging monster thrashing across the burning field.
“Marine!” You yell, getting her attention as her eyes snap to you. “Max Repel! Put out the fire, I'm fighting!”

You pop open your index and engage the field, your aura sense completely disrupted as you vanish from sight, hearing, and psychic sensing. This is an all or nothing, you won't have long to fight like this and Marine won't be able to see you either.
It doesn't take long for her to deploy hers either, vanishing from your sight. Both running blind from each other now.

You slip in, running forward despite the painful burns that've singed down your pretty fur. Your fat protects the insides from the worst of the damage, but it hurts to move. It hurts to run. Like your entire body wants to be on fire and your armor isn't helping either. Being made of steel, it's burning against your flesh... But you, you're a rocket.

The enemy bird seems confused as its targets have vanished, the cat on top scratching its head too, ears flickering about, large yellow eyes glaring about curiously, looking for the two of you.

A blast of water from right underneath the monster sends the ferrine sprawling off the monster, even as it adjusts its position in midair.
>>
>>31636467
Post what you got, let's just not run from it.

Then we can kill it.

Will make for a great gift for the Ferrines.
>>
>>31636467
Just chase down the Melynx. We're still disadvantaged against it.

>>
>>31636467
Kill the Quru or the ferries?
>>
>>31636499
>You shouldn't, because it always does.
Nah, it doesn't.

What does become a habit is people becoming overly shy towards any and all rolling.

>>31636467
Depends. If we let it chase down the black cats, can we try and finish it off afterward? If not, then I'd rather we kill it now. Just from looking at the previous bonuses for them, we've got them outmatched in a straight battle.
>>
You launch an icicle at the beast's haunch to kick it into go, running at the Ferrines as they scatter into the grasses. You feel a sprinkle of water on your head as Marine takes care of the fires.
You dive out the way of the monster's fanning tail as it charges in the opposite direction, leaving you and Marine be.

You give yourself some distance, giving attention to the location of the water spray and slide right on in besides the distortion.

Tapping your index, you shut off MAX repel just in time to save a sliver of power. 1% it says, heh. You shut down your system.

“Marine, we're clear, let's go see Kurojo.” You stretch a little to assess your own damage.

Hair- singed, gonna need cutting.
Fur- Burnt away from your arms and the peach fuzz on your face got hit. Ear fur's charred too.
Your skin hurts, but nothing too terribly deep. Ugh, you hate getting burned. You grimace as much as it hurts to move right now.

Marine's worse for wear too, she didn't exactly get out of that explosion unscathed either with her clothes falling off in burnt tatters. Her skin's discolored too, getting white and blotchy. She was closer to the blast.

You're both hurting pretty bad. That thing is no joke...

Only physical if we touch them with our body during it, since that is the nature of how Burn affects things, since pain hurts and touching something with a burned area hurts.
>>
>>31637253
I assumed icicle gun was counted as special?
>>
>>31637289
It should be.
>>
>>31637253
Because Ice Shard assumes we throw the things.

Gun attacks should all be special.
>>
>>31637253
There's a Psychic attack that uses the Special Attack stat, but deals Physical damage.

So maybe we can do some reclassification.
Vacuum Wave uses Attack, but does Special damage?

>>31637286
Moves can do Physical damage, but not actually make contact with the enemy. Even in the games, this is handled by a hidden true/false value that determines making contact, which is why Earthquake doesn't put you at risk of being affected by Static.
>>
>>31637353
Then Burn should only affect moves that make actual physical contact with the enemy.

Vaccum Wave shouldn't get a penalty since all you're really doing is punching the air.
>>
You look over Marine's damage and give her a brief nod, “It's over”

She gives a painful grimace as she holds the scorched shell of her arms, soft tissue between the plates burned white,”Yeah, I'm way done with that thing.”

You turn and head back to the village with her, limping a bit yourself from the scratch that feline gave you in passing. The rest of them having fled, it's nice that they're giving you this reprieve.
Back on the battlefield, a swath of burnt grasses, the Duck monster rampaging after the ferrines.

Well, at the very least it's not after the two of you.

It's a painful walk back to the village.

The ferrines treat your burns with some salves, mowling and mewling about you with aggravated and condescending tones. You get the feeling that they didn't want you to interfere with... well, whatever that business was.

Kurojo returns, claiming that the tropius are ready to leave. That they saw smoke and decided that it was time.
When you ask him about the black Ferrines, he chuckles,” Thieves, but friends and famiry of ferrines. Merrinx they are known as. These ferrines are the rinnians. They do not enjoy strangers.”

“Oh.” You say with an almost flat face. You and Marine suffered burns, and nearly burnt down the fields... when the feud was about the two of you, if that. You hold your head in your hands, bemoaning how stupid that was, why'd you get involved?

Kurojo chuckles at you and pats your head,”Happy your safe Sheru.” He looks over to Marine, “You too.”

“Gee, thanks.” Marine rolls her eyes, flinching as a rinnian applies their tribal remedy burn heal for a second round.

You spend till noon getting the worst burns healed up.

Begrudging the state of your hair and your fur, a rinnian helps you out by cutting off the burnt bits, shortening you down to a more medium length. You almost cry at the loss of your hair, but you let It happen. You'll remember that attack for next time. It telegraphs with gas before it ignites... alright.

You go to punch that data into your index, realizing that your system's dead from using the MAX setting. You go to change out your orb with the other, reaching for the pod on your leg... and finding it missing.

Where did... Where did it go? You had it on you this morning. You had it this morning and then...

Tell Kurojo to tell the ferrines that we're going after our stolen stuff. Tell them that one of the things they stole is dangerous and could hurt the merrinx if we don't retrieve it from them. This should help convince the ferrines to cooperate with us in trying to retrieve our stuff.

We should totally ask Kurojo if his people or the Felyne have encountered the Hypno in the past. As well as the Dagoons, Machop, and Abra if we know what one looks like.

Could gather valuable intel.
>>
You raise this grievance with Kurojo, whom relays it to one of the nearest Rinnians, whom gets another rinnian, whom gets a black and white Ferrine, “Mina” that Marine had named earlier.

You talk to the cats, nearly crying about your lost supplies and how badly you need them to get home, and that the merrinx took them and how you're sorry about what happened and everything as Kurojo translates.

The assembled Ferrines all seem to mowl in agreement, and then look to Mina with a bit of a scrutinizing glare.

She mows nice and slow,”Mii ett hisshuff.” She murbles out broken words before padding off.

Kurojo shakes his head, eyes closed as his red mohawk waves, “She is half merrinx. She's getting your things. They enjoy the way you talk Sheru.”

You sigh, shaking your own head,”They wouldn't know what I'm saying if you weren't here Kurojo. How long do we need to wait?”

“She comes back in afternoon, we just need to wait.” Kurojo sits down upon a rock as his long sword rests upon his back, almost longer than himself.

“Sucks that they're that crafty. Makes me wonder if thinkgs could've gotten worse.” Marine adds in, her burnts bits slathered in poultice.

You decide to just not say anything. It'll be a long wait for you but hey, at least you're not fighting with the locals... Anymore.

Also, I remember someone asking if we could chain it with Quick Attack so that it can apply an immediate debuff? Is that possible?
>>
>>31638157

>>
>>31638143

What would a normal success on our last roll have been like?
>>
>>31638175
Er, drop off, obviously. We can't just bring him into the dome. He's the kind of race you find in the Indigo Reports, after all, and we don't have the kind of clout a Gym Leader or an Elite 4 member has to bring him in like Bruno did for Bruise. Not without causing major problems.
>>
>>31638175
Can't answer that.

>>31638168
Rank 10 is blizzard.
And yes, Quick attack can grant other moves priority.

Though Extremespeed witll take priority over quick attack.

Quick Attack becomes Extreme Speed at Rank 10 too?

Great thread, Professor. Things went way smoother now, after the whole shitfest that was contained in last night's thread.

I'm glad things turned out this way, even if we didn't get mad XP. We're alive and not suffering critical wounds.

What do you think of what happened, anyway?
Did we miss something you hoped we would get?
Anything you were worried about us doing that we pursued?

I like getting your thoughts on matters too. I'm weird I know.

Oh! And the next thread you'll run will be...what...and...when?
>>
>>31638202
We could, at the very least he should visit with some sort of leader, and with our return we could get him a meeting with Boss.

Well that settles it, Priority number one is talking to an experienced hunter to get down every type on Mon he's seen and description of it.

Possibly doubling or tripling the size of Kantos Index can save hundreds of lives and is a goal more than worthy of Ceru. Not to mention the dozen of so species to add to the Indigo Reports.

Dear God we're gonna put in the single largest amount of monsters at one time in Kanto history.

I was curious during the last thread since I noticed what might have been a pattern
>The Jonin starts to sweat, his visible eye averting from yours

>You see something in her eyes wane and look away from yours, even if only to avoid eye contact.

>You cease your hasty exit and step further in, staring the girl down, the scrutiny of your glare making her sweat a bit

If it wasn't the opposite of what I perceived the premise to be of DLN, I'd guess this was foreshadowing for some kind of power. Was it just a bit of recurring animu mannerism getting to be a habit, or does he just have a heck of a glare?
>>

>>
I don't know why everyone hates DLTQ protag so much.

>>
>>31638599
>>31638723
This. You really should have ignored some people, but then you actually went and followed them. Made for a horrible mess.
>>
>>31638728
He's not unlikable in the right way. He's unlikable because his characterization was a mess, created because Prof based it on a person he hated and because he incorporated random suggestions to seem "playful" and "accepting". And then he just ended up making something stupid and hard to look at.
>>
>>31638738
Wanderer IS Prof
>>
>>31638656
Maybe.
They're very different among the humanoids though. Basically everything the Kahkori are not save for badass hunter-slayers.

>>31638723
The dreamscape's only inconsistent as a dreamer. Traveler status makes things far more consistent while the dreamland itself is still crazy overall.

>>31638742
I didn't have the luxury then. I could read it well enough to know that it would be an excuse to escalate things.
Davis pierce will make for a good dream-side antagonist.
>>
>>31638763
>Davis pierce will make for a good dream-side antagonist.
Are you really so intent on keeping him in? For what reason? The thread was so horrible and random.
>>
>>31638771
Yeah. So he'll be horrible and random. He just won't be the main character. He'll be some jackass troll that the newMC would run into now and then.
>>
>>31638763
Yeesh. A "good" antagonist?

Just see what this anon said
>>31638759
Just because you give him horrible traits, that doesn't mean he makes for a good villain. It just makes him a horrible character. You're better off cutting him out and starting all over.

>>31638763

>>
>>31638794
And you actually think that would make him a good villain? Prof, take whatever second opinions you can get when you're sharing ideas; don't bother keeping the character.

>>31638826

>>
>>31638839
I kind of agree. As trolly and messy as that entire thread was, the character never did anything outrageously dumb (well, in terms of how human beings think anyway)
He was a jackass, a dumbass, and just plain an ass. Not to mention a huge pervert anyway. So what happened when he went Traveler was:
>Find weird imp things
>Take out anger on them
>Learn about big evil dude
>Whatever. This is a dumb stupid dream man.
>Middle finger all the things
>Beat up imp thing more
>Learn girl is taking you to meet evil dude
>Well fuck YOU too girl, I'll just...uh...eat you. Yeah. You said I get powers from that, right? Gonna do it just to spite you.
>>
>>31638874
Better question. Why do you want to keep the character when there are people telling you how bad of an idea it is? Do you just not want to look like you're giving in to trolls? Is that it?

I can tell you from experience, Prof. Characters like the one you're imagining are never good for the story.
>>
>>31638892

And also betrayal.

He would.

>>31639214
Love comes from us.

Although girly lust is something that's in Prof's control, currently.
>>
>>31639199
I like it too. Our charm is really gonna make for an interesting adult Ceru...

I want us to get higher Ten, though. Any advice on that one? I have trouble determining what decisions affect stats.
Maybe you could start putting it next to decisions. Unless you decide all that later.
>>
>>31639199
tch, love is for the bird...men
>>
>>31639241
Probably not a good idea to attach rewards to decisions, It baits some into making poor choices.

Plus it's a little silly for us to know that.

Massage parlor with happy ending?

Fair enough. Just a curiosity.

Bruise a shit

all the more painful when they inevitably have to part ways
>>
>>31639294
They'll become good friends, maybe even have a little infatuation.

But it wouldn't work out.

And are you kidding? Kurojo will be joining the Rockets.
>>
>>31639271
Messed up that link, anon.

>>31639273
That's personal preference talking, anon.

Not that I want Kurojo. I'm just telling you, Ceru has her own preferences.

The real problem here is that Ceru has never really been 'courted' by anyone. Kurojo, a bit, but it's more like he's just complimenting her in ways she likes. What Ceru needs is to go on a few dates. See what the other guys are like. If one of them clicks and feels right, then there's no problem with jumping into it.
>>
>>31639317
I know.

I just feel like they wouldn't work out.
>>
>>31639312
Better that we don't bring him to the Dome without permission. It'd be a bit inhospitable, but he'd understand if we explained to him our people's outward policy on creatures like him.

It's actually a bit of a similar situation to the Ferrines; the Dome people are rather isolationist.
>>
I don't think Lilac would mind sharing, plus the power dynamics of being in a relationship with her while holding her shock remote is would be very arousing.
>>
>>31639334
How they 'work' out entirely depends on us, is all I'm saying. You don't need to reiterate that you don't like the pairings going around.
>>
>>31639334
They don't have to stay together forever, relationships can -not- work out.

I'd be interesting character development anyways.
And more excuses for sweaty birdman smut
>>
>>31639364
>>31639364
>relationships can -not- work out.
....do you know where you are?
>>
All this matchmaking discussion reminds me of Janine's subplot. When we get back to the Dome and finish debriefing, we're going to have to go around and meet our friends again. The Rockets, the cadets at Cerulean Gym... when we go to visit Janine, let's try to rope in Bruise.
>>
>>31639387
Yes, and that's exactly why I'd want to see it happen and be handled in a mature fashion by the players.
A man can dream
>>
>>31639393
>Speaking of Bruise
If he really did evolve while we were gone, he's gonna be so /fit/. More so than usual.

>>
>>31639412
>>31639393
Do Humanoids even evolve?
>>
>>31639428
Well we know the machop people evolve.

We just don't know if halfbreeds do.
>>
>>31639428
how would he hit Machamp status?
>>
>>31639412
And then we'll have to find out if Ceru likes his big muscles over Kurojo's big muscles.

Exactly how /fit/ is Jojo compared to Bruise since we last saw him, anyways? Ygg, you should be an expert on muscles here.
>>
>>31639428
Presumably, they evolve just like any other monster in the wild. Nothing much separates them from the evolved wildlife except for the fact that they started out as humans instead of animals or plants.

Bruise is a half-breed, but I'd say that wouldn't matter since Rangers evolve and all they do is add on parts to their bodies.
>>
>>31639456
>not enjoying a muscle sandwich

a human massage machine and a guy with 4 arms.

what more could a girl want?
>>
>>31639456
There's nothing wrong with being ripped, but size isn't all that matters. Being lean can be attractive too. Usually that's what most people are thinking of when they say muscles are attractive. That isn't to say there aren't people who don't like bulk.
>>
>>31639474
So is bruise half Human/Monster or half Human/Humanoid?

because humanoids and sentient monsters are two different things.

I think bruise is half Human/Monster
>>
>>31639488
Race is inherited from the mother.

It was noted that Ni'Rena looked more like a human than Bruise.
>>
Can Kurojo Evolve?
>>
>>31639508
We don't know. He's an OC race that we believe is a derivative of Hawlucha, like Brambela is of Tangela. So probably not.
>>

>>31639508
Watch it be a trade Evolve and we enter the dome and he collapses in pain and starts evolving.

>>
>>31639488
>because humanoids and sentient monsters are two different things.
How so?
>>
>>31639526
That reminds me, did we remember to take any pictures of Brambela?

We should probably do that.

Also how can we convince Giovanni and Sylph to take advantage of the vast cultural network before them, and not burn it all down because HFY?
>>
>>31639661
>implying we're not going to have to start shit so they don't dissect Kurojo
>>
>>31639661
The natives know how to kill the monsters on the island and use their corpses.
That's enough for Silph to keep everything there alive.
>>
>>31639643
A sentient monster is a monster that is sentient. Just smart enough to be self aware. Machop line, abra line, drowsee line.

Humanoids are humans that over time and extreeme exposure to M-Virus and Danger evolved to be like monsters. Dagoon, Kahkori, Ferrines(unconfirmed), Smodhodron(unconfirmed)
>>
>>31639671
That's why I don't want to bring him back.

Like the Kahkori as a culture seem, well, perfect to exploit to further the cause of humanity, and the Felyne are similar.

But I'm just worried the Dome is too fucking xenophobic to be practical.
>>
>>31639661
We did; the one that was in front of the pikachu burrow.

>“Hold on a sec.” You say as you open up the arm-plate and take a picture of the thorn-monster. “What should we name it?”
>Marine sneers at the thing, recognizing it instantly and why you're taking a picture of it, “It's like tangela right? How about Brambela?”

>>31639685
The problem is not because people can't be sure whether or not the Kahkori would cooperate. The problem is AURA.

Prof did say there were reasons why there were so little restrictions against Espers in the Dome. An ability like Aura, while not being exactly on par, is close enough to Espers in function that...well, it's the kind of thing we'll want only for the Boss to know.
>>
>>31639689
Sapient
>>
>>31639661
We did. And Boss and most Gym Leaders and Silph are smart enough to not be dumb and abuse the now possible allies.

>>31639695
They -do- seem like the perfect goddamn helpers to rangers in the wild.

>>
>>31639689
No, the Machop/Abra/Drowzee line are the humanoids.

Sentient monsters are the Felynes and Melynxes. Kahkori, Dagoons, and Smirodhans are unconfirmed.
>>
>>31639701
same shit
>>
>>31639689
...No?

Every pokemon in the human-like egg group was once a human. So that includes Machop, Abra, Drowzee, Hitmons, Mr. Mime, Magmar, Electabuzz, Jynx, Mr. Mime, and that's only G1.
>>
>>31639707
>Sentient monsters are the Felynes and Melynxes.
What makes you say that?
>>
>>31639707
No, prof confirmed that the Kahkori, and Dagoon used to be humans and evolved through M-Virus shenanigans.

Machop line and others are just smart monsters.

Though i may be getting the terms mixed up, should have prof clarify next thread.
>>
>>31639738
>Machop line and others are just smart monsters.
Wha- You do know you can check bulbapedia to know who who all human egg group monsters are, right?
>>
>>31639717
Notably, Spinda, Lopunny, and Sableye are all in the Human-like group, while Ralts are not.

A fact Prof found most amusing.
>>
>>31639717
No. That's just false.
>>
>>31639747
Cacturne are humanlike, too.
>>
>>31639748
You, uh, didn't really take part in many of the discussions, did you?
>>
>>31639745

That has nothing to do with this.

Besides, Machop line and monsters have eggs. Humanoids (kahkori) reproduce like mammals. Kurojo confirmed for human penis.

>>
>>31639783
Anon, reread the thread where we learned about the Indigo Reports.
>>
>>31639795
Oh, well i'm still gonna ask for confirmation next thread. If only because humans somehow laying eggs makes less sense than growing feathers or gills.
>>
>>31639823
Why? It's just a monster thing.

I do agree that it wasn't necessary on Prof's part to keep the whole "all pokemon lay eggs thing" but it's just something they do.

Probably from excessive M-Virus.

They still most likely to internal fertilization though.
>>
>>31639823
See, if you lay eggs, then that means less carrying and more punching things.

It's brilliant.
>>
>>31639854
But keeping the child with you allows you to better protect that child.
>>
Bruise has been friendzoned to death, Goldie has been off the table because dateless anoraks said Alexis licked him and called dibs and that's how relationships work on tg, Devon is too much tsun and not enough dere my tastes, not really wanting another /u/ quest, and waiting for a different option only drags out the husbando wars. Ceru and Kurojo have a mutual attraction and respect and he's been the most forward. A downright gentleman!

So I choose bird dick for Ceru when push comes to shove.
>>
>>31639823
Why...do you need to ask for confirmation when someone already linked you to the exact thread where it was revealed what human monsters were?
>>
>>31639878

>>
>>31639878
Dude, we're twelve, at least wait until after the next timeskip before we let the husbando wars begin.
>>
>>31639866
No, see, it's like why birds lay eggs. It's so pregnancy doesn't weigh them down while they fly away from predators when searching for food.

Same thing with the Machop line. They don't have ridiculously long pregnancies like humans. They get impregnated and then lay the egg, which then takes its time developing in a nest somewhere close by.

This is so that the musclegirls of the species can spar with each other in the mud without being at risk of a miscarriage from a stray punch. Logical.

What am I even typing.txt
>>
>>31639900
This is not a manga, sorry.
>>
>>31639903
>before we let the husbando wars begin.

they started awhile ago anon.

the faster one of them is picked, the faster the bickering is over
>>
>>31639911
Aaaaand you're dense.

The point of it is that it doesn't matter in fiction. It can be done well, no matter what reservations you have of it.
>>
>>31639914
Thread's about to die right now, so you'll have to bring the war to another battlefield some time later.
>>
>>31639914
This is not bickering, not even close.

Also that is a terrible reason to force a relatiopnship.
>>
>>31639928
It's a good reason when a number of people actually like what relationships are possible.

There haven't really been arguments between what husbando to choose. There have been arguments, however, of getting one and not getting one.
>>
>>31639914
Not that Anon, but lack of relationship is no reason to introduce a relationship
>>
>>31639928
>>31639939
This, pretty much. It's not so much the lack of relationship. It's to shut up the people who complain about any relationship at all.
>>
>>31639939
>let's get one
>let's wait

so you're saying that because there is an argument, we should get one?

...that literally hurts how circular and convulted of a reason that it.
>>
>>31639956
Let me rephrase properly, then. The other side isn't "let's wait". It's the side that does not like any of the relationships.
>>
>>31639954
>>31639939
>there's an argument
Let's automatically pick one side just because an argument exists.

Debate is no reason to support getting into a relationship when we're twelve.
>>
>>31639971
Which means, let's wait.

Be it for more age or for another character to be introduced that they like. It still means wait.
>>
>>31639973
Can't really stop it anymore, anon. I mean, there's already a strong following for it and Ygg has been preparing for it already.
>>
>>31639926
>Thread's about to die right now,
thank god

>>31639928
>>31639942
I couldn't force anything. other people would have to agree with me and establish a majority.
>>31639939
IIRC, people have been treating relationship flags like lepers, like when Goldie comforted Ceru after PTSD nightmare post village.

husbando/waifu wars can ruin a quest and I want to nip it in the bud ASAP.I'd rather have a skirmish than a war. burying your head in the sand doesn't make it go away
>>
>>31639973
>>31639985
Eh, well, I pity you guys. The QM and a number of the players are already okay with it, so it's already a lost cause to use arguments like 'age'.
>>
>>31639988
Pretty sure most people don't want it.

Not to mention Kurojo will probably be leaving anyway.

But whatever, i heading to bed, arguing now is pointless.
>>
>>31640002
it was always pointless.

and you're a fool if you think romance is avoidable.
>>
>>31640002
Not really talking about Kurojo, since I know the majority aren't asking for that. I'm talking about Ceru opening up to the possibility of romance. One of the only defenses people like you had aside from age was saying Ceru was 'dense', but that's already being stripped away. You don't really have any legs to stand up on anymore.
>>
>>31639998
>husbando/waifu wars can ruin a quest and I want to nip it in the bud ASAP
You see, that is no reason to start a relationship.

Also he would have been turned away if we had been with bruise or anyone else because of /tg/s phobia of doing anything remotely similar to cheating.
>>
>>31639999
I guess you're right. Whatever. I'm going to sleep.
>>
>>31640017
Age is all that is needed.

Twelve year olds are not in relationships.
>>
>>31640037
That excuse has actually also been 'stripped' away, actually, just from Ceru's conversation with Sanna. Plus, Janine has been pointed out as well as an example.

Like he said, there really aren't any excuses left.
>>
>>31640037
>>31640062
And there you have it. Nothing left to argue.

Not that, that was ever a valid point. 12 year olds do get in relationships all around the world.
>>
>>31640019
1.) I like romance. it can be touching and cute when done well.

2.)I'll accept the majority decision on whoever becomes the apple of Ceru's eye.

3.)
>/tg/s phobia of doing anything remotely similar to cheating.
all the more reason to pick a fella and get it out of the way now so we can get back to what really matters like arguing over how to spend the points.

>>31640037
>tweens cannot have crushes or fall in love. it is impossible.

>>31640062
Jenine is 15
Sanna is 14
Lilac is 16

We're 11 1/2
>>
>>31640037
That age is actually pretty acceptable for dating, actually. I actually looked it up the first time that was brought up. It's not unusual for kids to start dating at that age.

>>31640081
Janine is 14, actually. 2 years isn't actually much of a difference in that age range, you know. I looked that up too!
>>
>>31640093
Janine was 14 when we met her. a year and a half has passed.

and the difference between 11 and 14 is massive.

think 6th grade to freshman year

>>
>>31640166
We can train Aura with Kurojo if we successfully bring him to the Dome with us. Could probably do it on our own as well, or at least try.
>>
>>31640178
Yeah, but the plan was to do raining on our way ad i'd like to get some more in before arriving home.
>>
>>31640178
We don't actually need Kurojo to train us. Prof said it when we were choosing our 'training packages'. Ceru knows enough that she can train on her own.
>>
>>31640211
Yeah, but he will certainly help.
>>
>>31640232
There really isn't any bonus he can give us, anon. At least, none that Prof has told us.

We're already fine on our own. Any training with Kurojo would just be for flavor. Don't you worry, anon.
>>
Woke up and caught up.
Feels like a wasted thread- aside from nothing happening, for some bizzarre reason the people familiar with MH didnt bother telling people the melynx are thieves, pranksters, and more importantly, still okay with the felynx.
