You have always wanted to be an emperor. That ambition has burned dimly in the past, tempered by reality. Now the opportunity to realise your ambition has arrived and you are determined not to let it slip. Now is the time to build your empire and become an emperor.

Last Thread: You are the knight, Talon York, and you are an emperor, but not the emperor… yet. Last thread you occupied Darlesia, formed an alliance with the mystic foxes of Gauron and watched as your recent military operations went down in flames. Now Taour is counterattacking.

>Reposted from last thread

To say the next fortnight went poorly was an understatement. Probably the only good news was that your shipment of weaponry arrived from Worremburg and you successfully recruited 3000 more soldiers. Everything else, well…

Parras’ raids went poorly and you inwardly thank Undine for pushing you into getting Mercenie to block the shipment of mage-knight plate. It seems that General Volante responded rapidly to the raids into Deodain and later Forfdain – losses were limited to the hundreds but Gnome took a heavy injury that has prevented her from building new fortifications in Raupe. In response, the Taouran forces on the border appear to be massing for a counter-offensive though your spies report that Volante has retreated back within the capital.

The situation in Darlesia isn’t much better. Somebody is actively moving against you within the city and you have a suspicion that it may be RSK spies provoking the citizens. The real issue is that if you flush them out Falwick may use that as an excuse to attack. You don’t want to rely on League help at this juncture but if he was to assault you then either Mercenie bails you out or you retreat. The citizens haven’t turned on you but you’ve had to temporarily cease recruitment after one of your captains flew into a rage after being attacked by a gang of toughs. Not a problem, except when the local news reports your soldiers assaulting innocent civilians.

You stand in the war room as your aide grimly informs you that a Taouran raiding party of two thousand has moved into Raupe. Not an invasion force, but an attempt to probe your reaction and do some damage to your new province.

The question is, do you leave it to Parras, with Gnome out of action, or stay in Darlesia in an attempt to salvage the city?

Few notes:

Although Tsucchi teleported Vad to Darlesia, you don’t know how she did it. I forgot to write the scene (between all the silliness) where Vad refuses to tell you how he got to Darlesia. Remember that she played coy when you asked her how she got to Darlesia before you.

Aladria’s messenger (the independent vampire in Raupe) didn’t negotiate. You were basically offered tax revenue in exchange for not troubling her.

Gnome will take a week to heal without Undine helping her.

Taour has 4k troops in garrison at Taour, 4k troops at Crece and 2k troops attacking you. Mostly veterans but lacking good equipment.

We don't know she can but she can teloport up to I think 100 kilometers or so? It's on her sheet though I don't know how much her champion form would have degraded.

IF the vampire wants to sit out then let her for now, we shall deal with her when taour is under our control.

We need to do counter spy ops in Darlesia, some public work would boost moral, but we are needed back at the front lines, so the real question is: who can we assing to stay and carry it out?
>>
>>31689891
Honestly a bigger issue right now is we only have 2 days and it takes 5 to get there. By the time we get there the battle should be mostly over. Though if Salamander was there I would feel a whole lot safer here.

ah, ok. so in character we don't actually know that she teleported...
mmm, this is tough, we can't actually ask her outright even though we had guesses since that would be OOC.

wasn't that before we signed the treaty though? maybe now that we are allied she will be willing to tell us?

And its gonna cost us, but we don't know what yet.
>>
>>31689708
Alright so, yes, things went kinda a mess last thread, but we don't need to change up too much. Here's my thoughts

>Tsucchi playing hard ball
Fine, we won't be able to move too many people (aka anyone but Vad, I guess) for now, but at least they can move quickly.
>Aladria
That is not acceptable. Those are our lands, and she will negotiate, or be put down. We can not have a wild vampire feeding on our citizens, no matter how nonhostile they try to appear to be. But we are not in a position to push her yet, so just let her think we'll agree for now by not answering. That comes later.
>Gnome
Wish her best, since Undine can't get to Darlessia in time to help.
>Taour's attack
Dangerous, but Talon's charisma is needed here in Darlessia I think. Have our troops at Raupe dig in and prepare for them as best they can. Use Bartom to rebuild whatever they can, that's part of why we moved him there. We need to try and fix Darlessia and move there to assist quickly.
>New troops
Train them for now. We'd do no good throwing them all to the fire and we're not hurting for forces that badly yet.
>>
>>31689708
>2k troops attacking you. Mostly veterans but lacking good equipment.
those troops are outnumbered 3 to 1. unless they have some daywalkers with them we could crush them at minimal losses and it would really help our situation there.

Gnome being injured is a problem... did vad return back to the front though or is he still with us in darlesia?

We need to get Neir on the case of whomever is undermining us in darlesia. we need to get undine to use her invisibility to investigate (the news reports slated stuff against us, spy on them, see whom they are in contact with, follow contacts).
Ask tsucchi if she has any suggestions, or abilities she is willing to lend to such a thing

there was mention of us being able to flush out the suboteurs but that being possible "cause" for the RSK general to attack us... if he is that openly hostile against us that he not only sends saboteurs against us but also outright invades us in retaliation for flushing them out (especially if we aim to capture them alive where possible) then I would rather we just ally with magi league and be done with it.
I suspect he would not attack us for such an act though and we would finally get the city under control.

You can always try that tactic.

I'll do a scene where you try to convince Tsucchi to tell you how she moves around so fast. Unless people don't want to push her?

>>31689880
That's Taira, the nine-tailed fox who vanished a century ago. Tsucchi is the sister of another Champion candidate, Ren, but not a Champion candidate herself.

>>31689988
>We need to be sure to send the info on the daywalkers we do know about to the other front.
You can assume something that important has already been done.
>>
>>31689708
Couple of questions:
1. Why did we recruit 3000 men at arms and not a mix of them and archers? I think we just asked for mundane equipment
2. Our Arcane Archer factory came online about a week ago. How goes its output.
3. As for the spies I think we should use Nier to convince the RSK to back off. Basically, Nier reports that a new military magitec factory has come online, and its pumping out some strange stuff (exact details vary based on what we're pretty sure the RSK already knows). And basically prototypes apparently did really well in battle, so she's trying to figure out how to get the designs through means both overt and covert. And the league of course is doing the same. And she basically recommends that the RSK hold off on the spy stuff until the knowledge is no longer exclusive lest the Magi League gain a military edge.
4. How goes the search for someone with legitimacy and competence to be placed on the Archduke roll for Darlesia?
>>
>>31690027
>I'll do a scene where you try to convince Tsucchi to tell you how she moves around so fast. Unless people don't want to push her?
It can not hurt to try and ask, can it? She should understand we find ourselves in a bad position and we can't just ignore her ability to move so fast without at least asking.

If it's truly so dire a secret, then fine.
>>
>>31689997
She won't reveal her secrets that easy.

>>31689998

>That is not acceptable
Pretty acceptable for me anyway. She is out of the way at the moment and we can always just send her a message that says something like "Don't damage my citizens. I'll have to respond in that case. Otherwise everything is as agreed."

Not like we really care much what she does as long as she leaves us alone.
>>
>>31690027
Derp. Was thinking she was the 9 Tails for a second.

>I'll do a scene where you try to convince Tsucchi to tell you how she moves around so fast. Unless people don't want to push her?

I think we should ask since the alliance was official. No need to put a strain on our relationship though.
>>
>>31689998
>Aladria
Actually this is our fault
Aladria said she will be a LOYAL VASSAL, but if its not acceptable because she is a vampire that before we put her down PLEASE let her discuss things in private. Now she is reasonably chickening out since it sounds like we want to exterminate her for being a vampire.

we should have clarified that what we want to talk to her about is vampires in general, we need information if we are going to make an informed decision.

Regardless, we should not provoke her into open warfare until we are done with taour

then again... she is supposedly the lover of one of the top tier daywalkers, so if we capture her alive we get a HUGE leverage over him.
>>
>>31690109
>As long as she leaves our citizens alone
But she won't, and actually can't anon, last thread it was confirmed that Vampires can not feed on animal blood, so she will be needing humans to feed on as long as she exists.

At the very least, she has to let us negotiate that much (on where she gets her food). But that's a side issue for now anyway, so we can ignore it till Taour is more under control.
>>
>>31690179
>I think we should ask since the alliance was official. No need to put a strain on our relationship though.
Well, the way I see it playing it

>Say tsucchi, now that we are allied can you tell me how you move around so fast?
if she refuses we would probably get an option to press her, and I would vote we don't at that point.

>2. Our Arcane Archer factory came online about a week ago. How goes its output.
Oh, right, foundry stuff. Forgot about that with everything going awry. Basically it can produce equipment for 500 AAs every four weeks (ro 125 per week). Alistair has enough funds to keep it running for a month, after which it will be an 'on-demand' thing.
>1. Why did we recruit 3000 men at arms and not a mix of them and archers? I think we just asked for mundane equipment
Propose a mix and I'll use it. I chose MAAs because you'll be pumping out AA equipment now.

>Aladria said she will be a LOYAL VASSAL, but if its not acceptable because she is a vampire that before we put her down PLEASE let her discuss things in private.
Actually, she said she would send a messenger to discuss things. She doesn't want you in her castle.

Anyway, writing Tsucchi scene now.
>>
>>31690209
She has her own land, just under us as province owners.

She will be feeding on her own tenants.
>>
>>31690209
>But she won't, and actually can't anon, last thread it was confirmed that Vampires can not feed on animal blood, so she will be needing humans to feed on as long as she exists.
but she doesn't need to harm them to do so. its just more efficient to treat people like cattle then it is to pay poor people large sums for regular blood donations.

also, we haven't actually conquered her town yet, and we can always do it later. we don't want her spooked so that we can either kill her, or capture her alive as leverage over her lover (one of the top daywalkers)
>>
>>31690229
I am betting the reason her messenger didn't come is our abysmal performance after conquering raupe
>>
>>31690209
Honestly I don't really mind if he she has to feed on humans. Though we probably will need to renegotiate once Taour is removed. She'd be a possible useful ally later though since it seems she may hate perin.
>>
>>31690229
have we managed to recruit any more mages for our army from the mage towers in vitria?
IIRC part of the deal of them getting nobility was that it was granted on a case by case basis to towers who pledge service to the nation. was it not?
>>
>>31690250
That lover is deader then disco right now.
>>
Pretty content with the pile of MAA. With the AA stuff going we will be able to phase out regular archers in no time.

My preference when creating new AA units after exhausting our current mundane Archers will be to take from the new conscripts. Alternatively if that would cause their Conscript status to reset, let's do a 2000 MMA:1000 Archers so they can get some experience using a regular bow.

We can just sell off the mundane gear later.
>>
>>31690313
>Honestly I don't really mind if he she has to feed on humans.
it would be devastating for morale and our cause

I would like to remind you that we were willing to let a LOT of civilians die in taour for a tactical advantage (taking out blood farms, and raids). So even if there are vampires who aren't total monsters I am not inclined to show them mercy...
ESPECIALLY the taour vampires who have been part of some truly atrocious stuff.
>>
>>31690342
what is MMA?

>We can just sell off the mundane gear later.
why? we will keep on recruiting soldiers for the foreseeable future.
>>
Course to be honest I think we need to as soon as Taour is done start researching HMK and LMK as well as FMK just so we can have the basic design for a army.
>>
>>31690209
Leave it be.
>>31690229
Move the AA equipment to the Northern front more or less as it comes out the factory floor. Also, have archers crosstrain with AA gear when circumstances at the front permit. Same with men at arms and Mage-knight gear. How many can reach the front in time to effect the raid.
>>31690342
Or we can move it to the Dalesean home guard as it forms.
>>
>>31690362

I think at present we'll have to tolerate her existence and present situation.

If anything we can post a perimeter guard to make people feel better about her being there, lower morale hit due to a vampire being allowed to live. I mean we're at wartime here, so I wouldn't exactly support it, but if we can give up a few men for it. Sure, why not.

We will have to come back to it post Taour. As a few other things. There's still a Province that we've allowed serfdom to continue in as well. There are a lot of things we have to deal with come peacetime.

Next scene is a flashback to Aladria's messenger visiting you before you went to Darlesia, because leaving it out is causing tons of confusion. Sorry about messing that up, guys.

>Asking Tsucchi about her fast travel

You manage to catch Tsucchi having her own breakfast in a private parlour. Despite your repeated invitations she has always kept herself separate for breakfast, though she joins you for any communal lunches and dinners. You thought it might have been something spiritual, but she’s just sitting at a table in her normal clothes and eating some fish and rice.

What a terrible breakfast, especially mid-winter.

Knocking on the door to the parlour, you enter and greet Tsucchi. She gives you a smile in return as she picks apart her fish with some chopsticks – you don’t remember having any of those so she must have made or brought her own. You take a seat next to her and try to pay attention to her and not her idly waving tails.

“So, Vad somehow managed to get all the way here from Raupe and back again in no time at all. He wouldn’t tell me why but I have my suspicions,” you say to her.

“And those suspicions point at me, do they?” she asks you, giving you a sly smile.

“They do,” you say. “You mentioned having to tell me any important information. Wouldn’t this count?”

“My abilities aren’t a threat to you. Furthermore, I don’t serve you, Talon,” she says, pointing her chopsticks at you. “I’m a liaison but anything I do for you is out of the kindness of my heart.”

You sigh. Part of you expected this.

>How do you want to try to convince Tsucchi? Anything particularly good will either abrogate the need to roll Charisma or at least lower the DC.
>>
>>31690385
>MMA
Correction, MAA, Men-At-Arms.
Typical mundane foot solders.

>why? we will keep on recruiting soldiers for the foreseeable future.
Bulk of an effect force would be MMK, we have a foundry for that now. And the AAs are superior in literally every way to mundane Archers now that we have an effective way to produce them there is little cause to have a mundane Archer corps at all. So get rid of that mundane gear. Sure keep mundane MAA stuff if need be.
>>
>>31690362
I'm more thinking of her on lens of possible use. I mean we are human so for that we just need to bring it up it would be devastating for her if people got word of her hurting people. Since that would mean we would have to do something. I'm sure She'll understand that just because you don't last as long as she did so far not knowing the politics. On the other hand so long as that doesn't happen I wouldn't mind if she even raised a undead horde or something. Long as she pays the taxes and stays out of our way I don't see many issues.

>I think at present we'll have to tolerate her existence and present situation.
oh, I 100% agree about tolerating her for now and even said so in other posts. I am just saying that this whole "boohoo vampire genocide" thing...
Talon isn't a racist but he is willing to do what it takes, and for taour what it takes is a purge of vampires... now, vampires found elsewhere in the world can get their fair chance. Or vampires that really help us and we deem to not be monsters (like the guy who set up the blood farms, bastard has to die) can be allowed to escape under the condition they go really far from taour and stay low. But for the sake of keeping our promises to the people taour has to be purged of bloodsuckers.

>>
>>31690250
That's all well and true reasonable to us, but do you think a bunch of peasants are going to be so accepting of it? With all the fear and stigma against vampires? It's going to rocket public approval into the toilet, man.

And yeah, that's what I meant about it not being an issue right now. We hold Raupe, not her land yet. We can deal with her later.
It would be nice to have a hostage, though.

>>31690248
It's still in our land, even if it's private lands within them. And I doubt many people would care about such specifics if they heard we let a vampire live. News has a funny way of getting out about this type of thing, sadly and we would not do well starting trying to have national secrets when we're not even a blip on the radar yet.
>>
>>31690470

But have the weakest defenses at present. And our mass of Conscripts.

The AA gear would surely help fortify our position. And there is a good chance it will be under attack at some point.

That gear isn't going to help our forces within Hiien very much at all given they have an army at 2 days out and it takes ~4weeks to produce 500 units of AA gear. Long term thinking here.
>>
>>31690690
All you really need to do is give the Imperator seal of approval after killing all of Taour. If someone gives lip then just say we just burned down the vampire capital and massacred pretty much all of them and if we say this chick is cool after all we did then why don't they trust us? Course this requires we actually look into her later so we can actually say this.

But this is going on a tangent right now and not really important compared to the 2000 men invading the horizons.
>>
>>31690722

On the other hand, building up our arcane Archery force will force Taour to concentrate on them.

>1. Offer her a favor to get her to explain her power and use it for you.
The reason I think we should go with this, is because if we do something for her in exchange then we get it for the future BEYOND just our battle with taour.

If she doesn't want to do that, we can appeal to her both with gnome's state AND the fact we need any help we can get against the taour vampires which she has a personal agenda against. The reason I think this should be secondary is because such a method means she only helps us until taour topples

True. But for that we need more bodies so it would be rather nice to take that 2000 down. If anything what we would be fucked by is lack of mages. We got like 21 hahaha.

Though I see the benefits either way. It would be great though if we could route the 2K army though just to keep them from getting the idea to march into were we are now.

I don't have anything against her in particular, but once we have control of things, I see her as nothing but a liability, and she either will need to leave, or die. yea, not only that... crece is a natural wall with the only two pathes being heavily fortified, and is occupied by 4000 veterans of a mage heavy nation, probably good number of mages and maybe vampires in that force.

Meanwhile darlesia has 2000 troops right now. and under 30 mages who are under trained. (we should REALLY up the ante on recruitment of mages from the vitria towers... or anywhere else if they are willing to come).
If we add 2000 fresh conscript with mundane gear we would not be a threat to crece, at all.
>>
>>31690854

A possibly lesser threat. I do remember the idea of a pincer attack was brought up, would be easier with a corps. of AAs. In my view. That and training conscripts IMMEDIATELY into AA status would speed up the process of converting and crosstraining.

Note I'm fine with sending them to Raupe as well, completely reequiping our mundanes there and having a huge force of AAs would be very useful.

Honestly I think it should be a vote. With all the information necessary and if we got a split in our new conscript mass.

Production is weekly so that I don't need to track every single day. It's been active for five days so it will ship to wherever in two days plus travel time. If you really want to push it, you'd have no more than 40 more AAs in Raupe by the time the raid starts.

>I just don't see it happening anon. Mobs and riots. That's all I see.
Basically this.
If we absolutely must show a vampire mercy, it would be to tell them to hide and lie low for 50 years FAR FAR from us. And to avoid committing any atrocities in the meanwhile. then we can take them in when the memories have faded (what with generations passing).

and really, that vampire needs to be a saint, because I wouldn't trust most as far as I could throw them.

>I just don't see it happening anon. Mobs and riots. That's all I see.

On another thought i do think we should discuss on how to handle the vampires.
You also have to remember that a good portion of vampires that are neutral will exist in taour(potential political help/backstabbing if we can infiltrate), and i have a feeling recruiting them in the army is a better idea than killing them off.(only really possible if thralldom can be cured though, if not they get booted out.)
>>

and then finish up with
>1. Offer her a favor to get her to explain her power and use it for you.
the reason for that if we compensate her for it then it would be not just for the duration of our war with taour, but an ongoing thing in the future.
>>
>>31691027

One of those grey decisions.

I understand the multiple points of views.

But I think it's something we need to focus on later post Taour. Right now we're just getting bogged down by an argument when we have more important things at present to deal with.
>>
>>31690896
>Riots
>Against the God emperor that freed them.

Possible. Just depends on how we do it. I mean honestly even if I was in a hellhole if the guy who started glowing said this chick is all right and she didn't help Taour I wouldn't really hold that against her. Just because the same guy who broke me out said so. Getting ahead of ourselves though.

>>31690915

>>
>>31691027
>well considering we only met bad vampires i think our view of them is a bit skewered
No it isn't, did you miss the part where not a single person is arguing that 100% of vampires are evil, but everyone is arguing that we will have a rebellion on our hands if we show the taour vampires mercy in the open? And that even if they aren't INHERENTLY evil, those specific vampires have been part of a vampire nation guilty of horrific crimes?
If they were really so much against the blood farms they would have run away in a random direction. not served in the nation
>>
>>31690991
>Hearts and Minds
That shit would need to be natural 20 to successfully not make us look like pricks, not only to our own people, but the Magi League, and...well, honestly every other faction out there man.
>Recruit Vampires
And THAT is even worse!
I mean, I get it, the idea of having super rad Daywalker allies is sweet (If we played evil Talon, we could have totally done it), but I mean...just
Any place they take over they'd likely need to feed. We'd have to pay them in the blood of our people (or enemies people) which isn't good for any non vampire recruit. So discounting possible betrayals, uproar at such a practice, and possibly getting shit on by the largest factions because of it...

I dunno anon. It just doesn't seem worth it in the end.
I admit though, I do wonder what Talon would be like if we tried to go Daywalker Talon.
Immortality is a sweet boon

>>31691063
See now, I wish every peasant was that reasonable. Because this wouldn't worry me so much if they were. The thing about people is they're xenophobic. Not only that, they're also very easily scared. It doesn't help that Taour has pretty much ruined their reputation for the future.

An anon above said "if we did let her live, she would need to fuck off for like 50 years in hiding away from us". That would be totally fine by me, we don't need to kill her, but keeping her around is going to cause way more headaches then information, or usefulness it will bring.

>1.

“Well, if you’ll give me the kindness of your heart I’ll owe you a personal favour. Does that work,” you ask.

Tsucchi stops eating for a second and gives you an odd look. “Really? Things are so serious you’ll offer me a personal favour? A favour from the ruler of a nation? What exactly pushed you this far?”

“My familiar is badly injured in a northern province. She’s five days away and the enemy is two days out. Can you help me, Tsucchi?” you ask, not bothering to hide anything.

She gives you a level gaze, then sighs and lays her chopsticks down. “Very well. Foxes with six or more tails can use a form of teleportation. I’m not very good at it, only able to take up to one person with me at a time, but I can travel a few hundred miles each day. Where do you need to go?”

“Hiien. UP north,” you say.

“Where Vad is. Fair enough. Just remember that you’ll owe me one, Talon,” she says, giving you a serious look. “I’ll help as necessary with movement so long as you don’t trouble me too much with it. Just remember that this is personal.”

>Aladria’s Messenger scene next
>>
>>31691087
Talon is already immortal.

But yea, if we were playing a daywalker evil overlord we totally would, I have voted for such in quests before.

But as you said, it would make us look like huge giant pricks to everyone, both inside and outside the nation. Heck we know of several named characters in our upper echelons who will likely rebel if we did it.

such a decision would cost us the empire. And rebellions are a bitch, the magi league started off as a rebellion against the RSK, the RSK's archmage is now also rebelling but not as part of the magi league carving up his own empire. Several factions within RSK are likely to break apart.
The magi league itself is reported on the cusp of breaking apart into warring kingdoms.

I mainly think it would work decently just due to it being only one which lets us play things a bit. If we started recruiting nightwalkers or some shit that's a different story. Oh. I didn't even cosider the possibility since "die when his time comes" is nonsense invented by dnd.
IRL there is no such thing. Dying form "old age" is always dying from a chronic disease, be it heart failure or brain failure or what not. Talon is immune to the effects of aging which should make him immune to dying from old age

However, even if "when your time comes" thing is real, it probably only applies to people who aren't gods.

You are confusing childe with thrall
A nightwalker can create a new nightwalker every month.
A daywalker can make a new daywalker every year.
Making thralls is a lot quicker though. Remember that city where mal encountered a daywalker? he thralled the entire city guard and the entire administration in a few weeks. And tried to enthrall both mal and lynn at the same time.
>>
>>31691334
>How about a campaign or way to have the hatred for them to be not as strong?
The problem is that Taour has ruined their reputation so thoroughly, if we even speak 'maybe they're not SO bad' even about one vampire, people scoff and shake their head at us like we're stepping on babyheads.

It's damn near an untouchable issue, which sucks, but...well that's the nature of empire politics, ya know?

“Greetings Imperator Talon,” says the messenger. “Lady Serat sends her regrets that she could not meet with you personally.”

“Does she meet with anybody personally?” you ask, gesturing to the man to take a seat.

You glance sideways at Vad who gives you a shake of his head, indicating the man’s not a thrall. Surprising. You would have assumed somebody sent for negotiations would have been thralled.

The messenger laughs lightly as he takes his seat. “No. No she does not. There are only one or two trusted servants who ever enter her castle and I’ve never heard of or seen her leave herself.”

“How long have you been serving her? Maybe you just missed her slipping out,” you ask.

“Ten years. It’s a family position, actually, though my father served Lord Dalrec rather than Lady Serat. When he handed the castle over to his daughter she removed most of the staff from the castle and assigned us to a manor outside her estate. My father thought he had been dismissed and fell gravely ill,” he explains.

You just stare at the man for a moment, finding this situation to be profoundly odd.

“You don’t seem to hold it against her?” you ask him slowly.

“My Lady is the perfect employer, especially in Taour,” he explains, spreading his arms. “She pays us on time, we don’t need to do that much work and, unlike just about every other lord and lady in the country – old country, sorry, this is your country now – she doesn’t cut out necks open.”

“She’s reliant on deliveries from Hiien, then?” you ask, thinking you’ve sussed this out.

“Possibly. She gets a covered and guarded delivery once per year, I‘m not sure from where – the last was just after harvest in April,” he says.

So that means she has about 8-9 months of blood left before she needs to start feeding on people, assuming that shipment was from Hiien and was of blood.

“So, uh, about negotiations,” he starts, looking a bit sheepish. “Not that I’d call them as such. It’s basically ‘let Lady Serat do what she wants in her castle in exchange for taxes’. I don’t actually have any leeway to offer more. I can relay any problems you have with her by letter, though. I doubt she’ll pay much attention. I gave her a lot of strongly worded letters from the lords and ladies in Taour, including from Lord Dalrec. Never handed any back to them, though.”

How to word this...

"Dear Lady Aladria,
I am certain you realize that empire politics and all manner of duties that I find myself under are not always as clear cut, or simple as I would like them to be. In that light, you certainly must realize why I am concerned with your presece, due to the reputation vampires have acquired thanks to Taour. In light of this, I am afraid I can offer little leeway. Once I have control of the providence, you will need to relocate, and estracate yourself from my territory for a number of years at the least. I simply can not risk a rebellion if the knowledge that a vampire such as you were allowed to live in my lands.
As I understand it your blood shipments are not from here. If that is the case, and you do have enough blood to last you for several months, then you have until then to find somewhere to go into hiding.

I deeply apologize if this is inconvenient, or harsh in your light, but please try to understand my position, especially with your nonwillingness to negotiate with me.

A reply is expect, or else I will need to come see you personally once I have conquered Taour.

Right. which is why, in my opinion, we need to force the issue on this. Refuse her request for independance unless she meets in person, because we have too many problems with her kind to allow one free reign on our lands without judging her personal character.

“Imperator Talon? General Arail is waiting for you in the war room,” comes a voice from nearby and you open your eyes.

You gesture to the soldier to leave and rise to your feet. You’d be thinking back to that messenger – he went back and relayed your message but you think for the time being you’ll let her lie. Something to deal with when things aren’t so pressing on the warfront.

Showing up at the war room, you gather your thoughts as to what you’ll do in the current situation.

Frankly, anyone with royal lineage is a threat to us in the long run.

We have no business granting anyone with royal lineage from an old regime into a position of influence and power.

I'm also reluctant to empower military leaders into a high civilian position in a long run.

You need a capable civilian administrator, not a general.

The mages will be your best bet if you can find some. Otherwise, you can have Neir have her contacts see if they can find any Darlesian nobles that fled to the RSK. Of course, restoring Darlesia's royal lineage, even under you, brings up the royalist issue that the RSK and League are warring over.

>>31692763
Actually, Aspie, I'd recount all the changed votes. by my count, it's 2 and 2 and 2.

>>31692702

Vitria was more akin to annexation. The rulings house there had power and were likely to be loyal allies. There were also more than 1 ruling house, which at least served as a check on their ambitions. Sarah is also an exception in many ways.

Darlesia is a distinct story. There is no existing leadership structure there. Our whole rise to power was made possible in part because the leadership structure was decimated.

The last thing we need is a RSK lead intervention saying that one shmuck with the right last name is the true ruler of Darlesia.

We are just opening ourselves to a threat by putting royal lineage in power in Darlesia.
>>
>>31692681
Giving fiefs based on military service will give us extremely loyal nobles, who are competent, and serve as a HUGE beacon for recruitment as well as for morale among the troops. (Uncle Talon wants YOU to serve in the military. Defend your country well and one day you can be a duke, Enlist Today!")

Also, as far as legitimacy goes, all the legitimate heirs are dead and NOT by our hands. You would have to go for lesser nobles or some such and I don't see how they are going to seem more legitimate to the populace. MAYBE to the RSK, not the populace.
>>

>>31692927
>I don't see why we would trust someone we've never met based on their last name.
>I personally think it would be dangerous to empower old leaders.
I agree with both. I want our core territories controlled by our most loyal.

Taour is a mage city, I want maloric as its archduke.
Darlesia should have arail, our extremely loyal and competent general who is darlesian as an arch duke. Feeder provinces around it whose leadership was devastated by the recent wars can have our captains as their lords. Basically, our top allies should be rewarded handsomly with fiefs. This is THE ENTIRE POINT of feudalism.

Even with the above, we will still have a lot of towns bereft of leadership by virtue of the purges (we killed some robber barons and enthralled rulers in mier and olmm. Taour slew the leadership in darlesia. And taour's own territories will suffer from lack of leaderships when we oust the vampires). Tons of free slots to award.
>>
>>31693040
>maloric

Would kill us if we tried. He wants to research and he seems to really dislike mage politics which he would have to deal with daily in that situation.
>>
>>31693002
Uh, Glynn is a Darlesian patriot. Putting him in charge after offing the last of the royal line would be really, really dumb.

The idea of creating an Archduchery of Harrowmont was thrown around once. As was the idea of making Harrowmont the capital province with no direct ties and rewarding out the other provinces with no particular claim.

I think that's a peace time rearrangment set up.

Also Mal is going to be our Arch Magister of the mage's tower in Harrowmont someday. And he loathes mage politics why would he want to deal with normal ones? He probably wouldn't be down for it.
>>
>>31693022
Having a fief doesn't mean being an administrator, you can HIRE administrators as well as following national policy. It is mostly about being a middle manager, someone trusted to not abuse his position and to keep things fair.

You step inside the war room and begin to go through the basics while some men set up a sending device to allow Neir to communicate with you from Vitria. You’ve got arcane archer gear being produced at the new factory Magister Farrell recently set up and are having it shipped to Raupe. With daily shipments, you’ll only have a forty or so at Hiien by the time Parras needs to take action. Meanwhile, you assigned Lt General to getting the three thousand new recruits, two thousand of whom are melee soldiers the rest archers, up to speed. You plan to stay in Darlesia for now, but send Undine to Raupe to heal Gnome and help Parras.

You just hope Tsucchi’s favour isn’t large enough to make you regret getting her help with that.

The sending device comes online and Neir’s voice crackles through. Apparently the military build-up on your border is old news and already being peeled back, but there are definitely agitators within the city. Now she just needs to find out who they are and why they’re here.

“What do we do if Falwick changes his mind, sir?” Arail asks you, looking grim as he looks at the figure symbolising ten thousand plus RSK soldiers in neighbouring Arrece.

“He won’t. Falwick is no mad dog, he’s a trained and vicious hound,” you say. “Old Fenix won’t let him break covenant with us and invade our territory without a damned good reason.”

“Any particular orders I should relay to Parras, Talon?” Undine asks you.

>Are there any orders you want to relay to Parras in handling the raiding party?

Wouldn't this deplete us of our military leadership?

I'd be happier showering Arail and other leaders with land holdings and wealth but keeping them focused full time on our military efforts.

Getting them distracted with taxes and other civilian matters seem like a recipe for disasters.

I suppose we could surround them with capable civilian administrators and make our subordinates Archdukes in name, but we need to find those administrators first.

No, they will each assign a steward/majordomo to handle their household in their absence.

Well I wouldn't say Vad specifically.

But that is an idea. We did sign the deal to let the foxes in. Possibility one of a more political mind comes along? Give them a decent set up? More fluffytails come? Might work. Decision for another time though.

I should have made it clear, that this was my intent all along.
Also, at the MOMENT its just them, but one day they will retire or have kids or something. We are basically making them nobles. Imagine 50 years in the future. do you want all the nobles to be random people? or "Hi uncle talon, grandad arail was telling me stories of when he was your general way back in the day"? the latter sound like far better choices for noble houses
>>
>>31693282
Ok, you are right there. damn. that pretty much leaves importing vitria nobles or RSK ones...
Actually, RSK ones might be a good plan.
We hear the RSK might fall into warring nations soon, yes? Well, if we get relatives of the nobles who own the fiefs near our border to be given fiefs in our land... it would be good leverage for them to join us without a fight when that happens.

PARRAS TACTICS VOTE

>2. Prioritise defending towns and villages and don't engage openly.
>3. Leave him to his own devices to drive them out of Raupe.
>4. Custom

Note that Parras has about 5.5k soldiers vs Taour's 2k. He can crush them in an open-field barring nasty surprises but they'll be moving fast and light with the intention of causing as much damage to towns and villages as possible.

>>
>>31693166
>Are there any orders you want to relay to Parras in handling the raiding party?
Use his discretion, priority is to keep our troops safe while inflicting losses on their troops, we want to cause a size disparity in military.
Holding raupe is less important than maximizing our troop count and minimizing their's. If they have a daywalker withdraw and inform us immediately (talon would teleport in to deal with that one personally if its only one daywalker, if multiple then we fortify instead).

Over the next few days you spend most of your personal time trying to build support. Despite the issues the populace has with some of your men, namely the Vitrians, they welcome you with open arms. You’ve kissed a lot of babies and even spent a few hours helping to rebuild some merchant stalls when one collapsed nearby.

In the meantime Neir and your more street-smart soldiers went on the hunt for the dissidents inciting revolt against you. They were greatly aided by the informant network you set-up earlier and quickly mapped out the locations and people. The operation was split into two: the first to deal with the surface rebellion. People like the news producers who misreported your soldiers last week. The second operation was to strike at the RSK spies themselves.

The first operation went well, with the prime dissidents removed quietly overnight from their homes, interrogated and imprisoned. The second… not so well. The meeting you crashed went bad once you arrived and your soldiers were forced to kill the spies in self-defence. You’d hoped to get more information from them, as well as avoid possibly inciting Falwick with a spurious claim of ‘protecting RSK citizens’ so he could invade you.

Overall, you’re quite happy with things. So long as you keep the Darlesian soldiers on the street and stay visible you’ll have things on track. Now you just need those mages you can’t find to contact you.

>Parras’ Entrapment: Success; 19, 2, 2

Parras’ news was similarly good. It was just a sending:

‘I think I understand a little what it means to be you. The almighty power of your elite counsel is terrifying to behold. Taouran force crushed utterly as they tried to retreat. Vampires in medium mage-knight armour went down easy.’

Always good news. Maybe overloading his front with your heavy-hitters really paid off.

You sit in the war room now, considering the situation. Mercenie’s League forces still sit on the border, keeping a close eye on Falwick’s force, which is still very large despite slowly reducing in size. You feel confident claiming Darlesia as yours now. The real question is where to move next? The main remaining in Taour are the daywalkers. That and getting close enough to kill them without taking heavy casualties.

>You now control Darlesia
>Taouran military deployment in Taour reduced to 3; Moderate.

I think we should take crece next.
Here is why

there are currently 4000 troops in crece and 4000 in taour, while we have 5000 troops on the bortder with each.

taour also has 2 daywalkers.

Not only is crece easier to take, but they won't expect our elementals fast movement (via teleports and mals' summons and flight) to hit so fast
We take crece and we can then pincer the capital with 10,000 by hitting them from both sides at once!

the loss of the general would devastate the RSK and we could get consessions from them in return for not allying with the magi guild at that point but remaining neutral, blaming it on him, and getting reparations (for example, they withdraw from whatever they conquered).

Or it might even push them towards finally breaking up into warring fiefdoms

Updated map attached. Some control and order changes to Taour and Darlesia as well.

Note that Darlesia's Magitech Foundry has no working factories in it. It does have space for five factories, though. It would need some time and money to be refurbished and become usable.

Recommendations so far are to either hit Crece or the feeder provinces.

I favor taking charge of our Raupe army personally.

I favor the feeder province plan.

Best case scenario: We lure out one of the Daywalkers and destroy him in a more favorable condition than a siege of their most defensible province.

Worst case scenario:

We surround Taour and can starve out both their vampire and human defenders into submission
>>
>>31694547
... Hey. Could we contact Alyce and her familiar, ask if we can go through Coventry to get into Crece? If she goes for it, it'd be a great way to just completely avoid the situation and bypass a powerful defensive system.
>>
>>31694498
What is scarier.
The wall of lesia fortress wall with 4000 troops
Or 5 daywalkers with 4000 troops?
I think the 5 daywalkers

If we take crece first we pincer on taour afterwards with full force
if we take taour first we pincer on crece afterwards

I think we would have an easier time taking the fotresses
>>
I think we should take Dedain first. It's the closest and allows us to hit Taour if they move into Raupe, basically trapping them in Taour.

Cerce doesn't even need to be taken right now, though it might leave Darlessia vulnerable, it would also mean if they dare to try and take it, we just take Taour from them.
>>
The problem with taking the feeder lands is that they will need to be defended. Letting Taour use hit and run tactics on us while we are spread thin.

Shit, right we need to remember this.

We either need to hurry up and hurt the vampires, or prepare for hell when the full moon comes. They're almost definitely going to attack when that comes around.

>shuold make that bigger its hard to read.
The map is enormous. Try zooming in on it in a separate tab/window.

>>31694590
I was about to point that out. If you can get them to have Castle Teffal stand down, you'll be able to pincer the Wall of Lesia from both sides or just ignore it.
>>
>>31694493

Also I'd like to get that Foundry up and running. We have a MMK template ready to go right? Let's do that if possible. And we could double up on AA gear production if we used one of the slots for that. Seriously help the whole 2 week trip from Vitria to Darlesia thing for superior implements.
>>
>>31694548
actually I almost forgot, now that we captured their MMK factory we CAN afford to turtle a bit, we have an MMK factory (offline for another few weeks until repaired) and an AA factory
they have an HMK factory. We also own more territory so we can recruit faster too.
>>
>>31694590
Military passage may be wise to ask for. I'm not sure if that's against our treaty right now or not tho.
>>
>>31694592

I disagree, they could easily relocate their Daywalkers to the fortress. The reverse is not true.

Besieging a fortress when we have an option to ignore it seems like a huge waste of manpower
>>
I think no matter what we need to surround Taour first before we go after it. I know it'll mass their force to the capital but we do not want ANY Daywalkers escaping during this, it'll only bring issues later.

I do like that idea for taking Crece though. Even false flag them with troop movements from Raupe and Darlesia that amount to nothing.
>>
>>31694631
>Military access is ago
Oh, shit really? Would that render the wall much easier to pierce? Because I have a feeling this will be damn near last stand for the vamps. Almost definitely going to have one of the vampires living there.

I say we do it, if we don't want to spread ourselves too thin in the feeder Providences.
>>
>>31694654
>I disagree, they could easily relocate their Daywalkers to the fortress.
the fortress is not their capital and if we hit it fast enough they might not detect it in time.
also, so far the daywalker have been loathe to leave the capital. If the daywalkers do leave the capital and come to the wall, then we RETREAT from the wall, TELEPORT to the army in raupe, and have it sack their capital

Oh, and we can have our army form a blockade at the two vallies of crece outside their range. if we are very lucky it will split their daywalkers between it and capital. or have them move more troops there
>>
>>31694730
>TELEPORT
we can't instantly travel there, it takes time.
>>
>>31694590
that would be useful, we pincer the capital with 10,000 troops vs their 5,000. this could be a decisive end to the war.

However, I think if we start advancing on crece it is possible they will relocate some daywalkers there, and splitting up the daywalkers is very important
>>
>>31694730
The army in Raupe is all mostly green or untrained. Against Vets, it would get slaughtered.

Magister Farrell (your machinist) is currently setting up the MMK factory in Vitria. This will fill up the Vitrian factory. As he's your only machinist, he's the only person who can build you factories.

A new MMK factory will cost 100TBY (currently have 730TBY) and take eight weeks to build. There's a bit under three weeks left for repairs of the first factory in Vitria.

>>31694701
You'll need to convince Mercenie or Alyce to get the castle to stand down. Technically you're not entering their province, you're just asking them not to bomb you into the ground with their fortress overlooking the valley.

Anybody object to asking the League to do that?
>>
Rolled 8, 7, 7, 9 = 31

>>31694547
Honestly I get the feeling we should Pincer here. Crece gets attacked and has to defend or back up to defend Taour and Taour can't devote men to Crece if itself is under attack. Problem is the lack of good men on the south front.
>>
>>31694809

Completely irrelevant trivial question.

What's the look of the MMK that Farrell is setting up? Anons and myself have mentioned wanting our own fancy suits.

>>31694809
Aren't our alliance supposed to be hidden? So asking that wouldn't seem prudent. We could just ask though to see.
>>
>>31694809
Where is bartom btw? didn't we call him over to darlesia?

Also, you said it would go very slowly to dig a tunnel from Ohm mines to the fotress mining town in crece. what if we didn't do it from so far away, but instead advanced our army to the mouth of the valley and set up a "blockade" there, then dug the the tunnel for only a few miles?

The idea is that gnome makes only a small (one person sized enterance) at first and then makes a large tunnel. Then at night the day before attacking she expands the mouth of the enterance so our army can go through. we leave all our tents and fires out, but the army goes in (tunnel is in a large pavillion tent)
oh, and we have fog cover up the camp night of attack

While I love the pincer maneuver, at the moment we actually have a recruitment advantage on taour while their social situation is getting worse with rebellion and defections due to loss of supply source.
For that purpose I suggest we timeskip a month to further recruit and let them deteriorate, as well as manufacturing of various types (both mundane and magitech), and also attempt to open diplomatic channels with their mage towers to see if any would defect to us when/if we attack.

Bartom is in Darlesia helping with reconstruction.

I keep wanting to go full white looking mail that has a griffin on it. Something really sleek and angular to bounce blows off. For fast detection of commanding officer we can add stripes depending on ranking as well as a nicer hat.
>>
>Darlesians are weary of seeing vitrian and taour troops among us
Ok, can we repaint the taour plate? it will be relevant once we capture it, and honestly considering what the vampires were doing I am of half a mind to rename taour once conquered.
As for vitrian, we should add our gryphon flag to all our troops. so darlesians wear darlesia AND gryphon flag (well, not wear, paint) and vitrian as well.

>Chat with Mercenie

While doing the rounds in Darlesia you had tried to contact Mercenie about doing a deal to get military access past Castle Teffal in Crece. That blasted fortress just bombed everything that went past it with magic, regardless of affiliation. You were certain the League could stop it from doing so, though. Unfortunately, Mercenie hasn’t gotten back to you.

Or so you think, until you step into your room this night and find her eating some cheese and reading through your notes.

“How the hell did you get in here?” you ask, bewildered. She’s unarmed and dressed simply but that just makes things more bizarre. And bothersome. You’re inwardly glad Undine isn’t lurking about.

Mercenie looks up, brushing some light brown hair behind one pointed ear, and smiles at you. “I have my ways. So, you managed to take Darlesia without too much trouble. Well, except Falwick is supposedly trying to convince his king to let him invade you. If you were anybody else, you’d have that ogre hammering on your door.”

“Old Fenix and I got along relatively well, even after I refused his offer,” you say, taking a seat. You try to grab your strategy and planning notes back but she raises them back. You don’t try again – no need to get into a fight here. “So, you got my sending?”

“About Teffal? Yes. That’s a big ask, Talon,” she says, finishing off a piece of cheddar and quickly snatching some camembert from beneath your hand.

“You said you’d help me if I went after Taour. This is helping,” you say, instead taking some brie. Did she steal this off a servant or did somebody leave it here for you? “And no, standing on the borders of Darlesia doesn’t count. I helped you cut off that smuggler afterwards.”

Mercenie gives you an appraising look, obviously thinking on her words.

AA aka Arcane Archers are muggles wielding magic bows, magic arrows, and magic headgear

HMK/MMK/FMK/LMK are muggles wielding magic swords and magic armor.

Knights are mages who specialize in buffing themselves, like talon (but most weaker). like besette, the armored bears, the black rock ones, etc. Knights are better than HMK/MMK/FMK/LMK but are significantly rarer and harder to train.

Knights COULD use bows if they wanted to, but due to tradition they are sticking to swords. I think we should (via demonstrating our skills) encourage existing knight orders to train in both sword and bow. Rather then making a knight order dedicated 100% to long ranged combat. hypothetically they would be better than AA

>Target not met

She clicks her tongue once and shakes her head. “Gnome sees something in you. Even Alyce does, but I don’t. As I said, this is a big ask, Talon. If I get Teffal not to attack your troops then there’s a possibility somebody will connect you to me and then to my mistress. That won’t matter in the long-run but right now it will.”

“Well, is there something I can offer you? This could save a lot of lives. It will also put things back on track after some delays. You want Taour conquered quickly, right?” you say.

She shrugs and nibbles at your cheese for a while, reading. You leave her be and consider your own options.

“You’re really serious about this whole conquest thing, aren’t you?” she asks suddenly, eyes fixed on your notes. “This really just mystifies me more. You’re a threat yet my mistress won’t do anything about you.

“Tell you what, Talon,” she says suddenly. She puts the papers down and leans across the small table until her face is right in front of yours. “Sell me a secret that might help me realise why Alyce seems to find you so interesting. I won’t tell anybody, except her. Alternatively, you can owe me a personal favour. The lives of your men are worth a bit of work from you, aren’t they?”

She smiles cruelly. She may be an elf, but you wouldn’t be surprised if her father was a devil.

Castle Teffal is under orders to bomb everybody that goes past. If Mercenie orders them otherwise for your sake the current secret connections between Alyce and you may be revealed.

>3. Followed by 3.

“I’m afraid not, Mercenie,” you say, meeting her eyes. “You said that doing this favour for me would possibly backfire on you. I don’t want you or Alyce to face that risk. Help runs both ways, after all. I’ll take Taour under my own steam and then we can talk about that help you will owe me then.”

The Aefir gives you an odd look before sighing, her warm breath brushing your face. She leans back in her chair and grabs some more cheese, chewing it as she eyes you in that same odd manner.

“You’re better at the political thing than I thought you’d be,” she says, after swallowing the cheese. “I can’t help you this time but I guess I can understand a little bit why Alyce might place some faith in you.”

Having said her piece, she stands and slips out your door, her figure fading into invisibility as she does so. You idly wonder whether Undine learnt that from her.

>No dice on getting a side-route through Crece

Remaining plans are the tunnel one, which isn’t foolproof; turtling up; taking the feeder provinces; or hitting Crece. I’ll call a vote shortly, in case I’ve missed any.

why is that bad for her though? it could be bad for talon if RSK attacks him as an ally of Magi, but it would be good for magi if the same happens...

I feel like at this point we'd be better served holding down hard in Darlesia. And surround Taour and Crece to cut off any major escape routes. If they do flee then it'll be through our territory, the RSK, or League, all of which will not bode well for them.

it is worth noting that a tunnel assault would take about a month, during which we will also be recruiting, building, training, etc.
at current state we can outpacer them

PS. if we do go after feeder provinces, lets have talon and all heavy hitters teleport there over a number of days. hopefully they will intercept again and we get to slay a lone daywalker

custom. have talon with 3000 elites and all hero units enter Deodain, pretend to be raiders. Hopefully this will draw out a daywalker general whom we can then kill as well as decimate the larger army via hero units.
We can make it even 2500 troops, and take the best trained and equipped ones.

>Hopefully this will draw out a daywalker general

Send Gnome and Felix to Deodain. With the Earth Elemental, they should be able to hold out.

Everyone else will focus on Raupe and overwhelm any Daywalker that pops up.
>>
>>31696597
>Splitting up our hero units
this is a really bad idea. It would be better to mobilize our entire 5000 unit force and march on taour with all hero units together than splitting them up.
Also, what is the obsession with splitting up mal and sala? can't a man be with his familiar once in a while?
>>
>>31696720
What if they attack the location where hero units aren't?
That seems like it's deliberately opening up holes in our defense.
>>
>>31696517
Question, have we been producing mundane equipment these past few weeks? we should be producing it nonstop. it is fairly cheap (5TB per 1000 troops) to produce it ourselves.

Also, we should start construction of a second magitech factory (building, allowing more "factories" which are the furnaces... we should really clarify those terms) in vitria. As well as have our machinist put the word out in his circles that we are looking for a machinist to rebuild and manage the damage factory in Darlesia.
>>
>>31696720
>All of them

And then they charge right though us.
>>
>>31696779
our hero units can travel pretty fast and the attack will be detected by our scouts.
We can have our hero units camping between the two provinces too and then moving on whichever we see movement against
>>
>>31696720

Not that guy, but we are marching on the feeder provinces, not Taour proper.

For me, Gnome should be in Darlessia because Darlessia's reconstruction needs to be brought up to speed ASAP

Felix can go anywhere really.

I agree that Mal should be kept up north however.
>>
>>31696816
>And then they charge right though us.
what do you mean? taour forces are in the capital, they won't abandon it to go at raupa while we are sacking the capital. Even if they did, they would be stopped at vale/craol which is full of knight orders dedicated to defending vitria against vampire incursions
>>
>>31696829
>Not that guy, but we are marching on the feeder provinces, not Taour proper.
I know, i am saying that splitting up our heroes between the feeder provinces is worse than attacking taour directly. we chose to attack the feeder provinces firs to (at least why I voted for it) draw taour's ire and get them to leave their walls (hopefully)
>>
>>31696829
Felix should guard us, its his job that we gave him. We shouldn't jerk him around.
Darlessia is being reconstructed by bartom who can build at half her speed.
>>
Say... why don't we actually complain (officially?) to the RSK emperor about the border general sending saboteurs to undermine us in darlessia?
>>
>>31696933
Think that option was taken because of the dramfail on removing spies. We don't want to tell the RSK we killed some of their people even if it was in self defense I think.
>>
>>31696851
If we removed all of them they just need a lighting raid where we left.
>>
>>31696933

Burden of proof lies upon us.
We show evidence.
It comes up we murdered the last ones(even in self defense)
Literally just admitted to killing RSK citizens to the RSK.
General has our word of mouth and is given the go ahead.
Suddenly war with RSK.

Nah I'm good.
>>
Don't forget we took their major bloodfarm, they will start to get desperate soon especially if we start taking their other feeders. Something I just remembered.
>>
>>31696994
lightening raid against 2500 soldiers armed with mageplate?
Any such raid will leave plenty of time for our heroes to converge..

actually, now that i think about it, with sala's flight, talons running, and mals horses placement is irrelevant unless they split up their forces to attack both provinces at once. we can just relocate the hero units faster then their army arrives. the only worry is if they try to send in daywalker infiltrators alone
>>
Just remember eventually they will get desperate enough to attack. More than likely they will throw all their forces at us with little regard for the capital. Being as spread as we are they will focus on us.

>2. Followed by 1.

You make your final plans of assault into Deodain while sitting in the command tent inside Hiien. Neir’s spies and Arail have Darlesia under control, so you took Lynn with you to Hiien to command so that you could be on the front. Tsucchi had obliged to teleport you, but had some harsh words when you suggested that she stay in the camp.

“I am a liaison, not a soldier. You can stay in these tents but I appreciate a little bit of luxury. If you need me, you know where to find me,” she said crossly, before setting up her strange ritual and teleporting back to Darlesia.

She was a funny girl, sometimes.

As you finish your plans, you take a moment to review your production from your territory.

>125 units new AA equipment, plus 50 en-route to Raupe. 325 still in production until September 6th.

We have bartom in darlesia building. as well as 5000 soldier under arail, AND nair and all her spies are focusing on it.
Gnome is not going to add order, she is just going to make reconstruction go faster than bartom alone. And we NEED her to keep our troops from dying on the next fight. we might be facing 2 daywalkers each stronger than that darious fucker that nearly killed us. why would you leave gnome behind?
