> a revelation of his own...

Welcome back, sir. I've been waiting for this, ever since i had a massive hoshit realization at the end of last thread.

I see the curve ball you threw our way, JQOP. I see it, and I say: Not This Time, sir. I won't stand for it. Here's what's actually going on:

Naoya is not actually interested in mio. This is just another prong of the smiler plan.
They want her for her power, or megeara's power. His true loyalties are to the smilers and megumi, who called us earlier on his say-so.
This entire thing is a multi-pronged, yui-level trap in order to drive her away from us and into a Cradle, and right into the smiler's endgame.

HE MAY BE RIGHT about anon-kun's feelings - he's an educated, perceptive dick - but actually admitting that is going to get her killed, or turned into an abomination that we have to put down like a dog.
So, we say no. That's the only option. We say no now, and figure shit out with Mio later.
Anything else and she gets into some serious shit.
Hindsight: of course the smilers would need a doctor to handle the medtech for their cradle project.

... and he also doesn't know she asked us to go to the culture fest with her. He thinks he still has a chance when she's already decided.

"No, I don't. I'm not convinced, naoya. I see what your game is. You don't actually have any interest in Mio. "
"All the kids at school just cannot stop talking about some biiig event, about the smiler gang experimenting and torturing on people. Your girlfriend's gang. You've been loyal to her before you started making eyes at Mio."

"The thing is... I had someone I genuinely cared about, once. The smilers took her away, and probably killed her. Maybe my heart isn't as big as it could be, but I don't see why I should help you. Especially after your girlfriend stole from me. "

"Maybe I'm wrong about you - but I hope you didn't come here empty handed. Why don't you cut the crap and tell me what this is really about?"

(Gentlemen; My apologies for the abrupt end to the last session, but I was unable to post anything on /tg/ during the interval. I've read through the responses to the previous post, but I feel - In the spirit of fairness - that I should continue right from where I left off, to give players the chance to revise their answers and for fresh input, especially as there doesn't seem to be a clear agreement on how to proceed.

I'll do my level best to take the spirit of the majority vote into account for the response, where there isn't a contradiction. The repost is as follows.)

(Also, those are excellent designs.)

> "Admittedly, that's the last thing I expected you to say."
> "I can't say that I can blame you. But this situation might be problematic."

"-I'm aware." Naoya looks away - That pained, faintly appalled smile lingering, surprised at himself. "It's not something that I was expecting, either."

"And yet."

> "I certainly understand that feeling. Thank you for telling me, but I don't think that suit will succeed."

Silence; A silence that speaks volumes.

And then, very quietly-

"I...have reason to believe that it might." He seems embarrassed, all of a sudden - Clearing his throat, with a deliberate cough. Naoya looks up, at the dark skies - Thick grey cloud shedding flakes of pale snow.

"More than that - I'd rather not say."

The pause that follows is long and intensely awkward - Made more so by Naoya's level gaze, one black-gloved hand resting on seat of his motorcycle. There's a sense of an internal struggle, a careful and deliberate choosing of words-

"To be blunt; I don't think you love her."

(Continued)

Nah, with this and meeting Megumi there's one more thread to build charge. We can have the Void Anchor before the shooting starts, easy.

Actually we should start the Cobalt Laser weapon research as well. We'll pick up at least 20% before the next thread, and Pazuzu was weak against the pure laser beam.
>>
>>31702208

(I feel, for this session, it would be inappropriate to count things for research. I'll admit, the nature of each session makes time intervals an uncertain thing at best - However, as this session continues directly from the last one and spans a relatively short amount of time, it would feel strange for it to count.)

His voice is mild, almost thoughtful in timbre.

"Please don't take this as an insult - It's not meant to be." His smile is gone; His expression carefully composed. "-I think, perhaps, that you consider yourself to be fond of her...But, to tell the truth-"

"...I don't think you care. Not *truly*, at least - Not in the way that matters."

Naoya draws a slow breath.

"In fact - I doubt that you even like her. From what she's told me..." He cants his head to the side, ever-so-slightly; White mist swirling in the freezing air.

"-She's a burden to you, isn't she?"

His words hang in the air, as Naoya pushes the hair out of his eyes.

"From the first time I saw you together, I was almost sure. You treat her like-" His lips press together into a thin line, as he searches for the right words; "-Like a pet. It's patronizing, demeaning - But I couldn't ever say so, not in front of her."

"Still - It's the truth, isn't it?"

He laughs - A light chuckle, without humour, as he shakes his head.

"Now that I've spoken my mind - I'm certain." His gaze returns - Focused, critical, gauging your response. "-You see? You're already thinking of it as a problem, something to be fixed...It gives you away."

Then, very quietly:

"-Don't you think that's cruel?"

I'll repost the spirit of Watashi's post from the last thread: Laugh in his face. He doesn't know Joker at all. He's right that we've not been good enough for her, but wrong about everything else.

>[ ] Free
Maybe you're right. Maybe I don't know what to do with the fact that she likes me that much. Any tips ?
>>
>>31702279
>but wrong about everything else.

Yes, but if he's also really, really in league with the smilers, making the cradle system, torturing people in the red world -

then this is an opportunity. If his interest in mio is genuine, we can potentially get information out of him.

I kind of want to propose a Mio/Hecate(i don't want to waifu her just save her from pazuzu) trade - and then betray him because fuck smilers.

If he's also a Player and a smiler to boot?

he's away from his friends, alone, and a perfect opportunity to get information on. by beating him up, or by using Reap+verbatim to get info on how to derail their endgame plans.

All i'm saying is : play this smart, don't trust him.
>>
>>31702279

Seconding this. Keep your filthy hands away from her, you son of a bitch.

> Laugh. Laugh kind of laugh where you start choking because you can't breathe and have trouble standing.
> While still laughing: "I can't even hate you because you're so serious about this. For once in my life I've been overestimated. Here is the truth as straight as I can say it: I have no idea how to act around her. I am in love with Tomomi Eri, real name Saeki Mio.
> "How do you act when someone loves you without reservation? When just seeing your face makes that person shine brighter than the sun, and a touch washes away their sorrow and replaces it with joy?
> "I have no idea how to treat her. I have no idea why she loves me so much. I have no idea how to respond to her love. I have no idea if I can answer her feelings as they deserve to be. But so help me god I want to try. I want to make her happy, and I can do it better than you."

>Don't make me veto your veto. He's not trying to help.

Yeah, he's not trying to help, and that post bites his bait so goddamn hard and totally misses the point:
He had his girlfriend call us begging for help, then tracked us down across town to hit us in our emotional jimmies, JUST TO get rid of mio's bodyguard during the hyades endgame event.

Fuck Naoya.

Calm, controlled, call him on his shit and take it to the red if we need to

We can use some friends, instead of turning people into enemies. There's nothing wrong woth being civil. There's no need toact like some retarede alpha male wannabe in this situation.
>>
>>31702371
>Don't mention the Smilers to him. If he knows that we know, we are fucked.

That's false. The smilers are a well-known street gang.
The entire school knows, everyone involved with the red world has been whispering to their friends, the website that keeps track of deaths just got a page full of player fatalities, the red joker mark is appearing in the red world because of locations we've claimed....

There's no need to keep the word Smiler secret.

What we don't want to let onto, more precisely, is that we're the red joker, and that we were there. We want to call him on shit we could very reasonably have heard through the grapevine - and then give him a 'you want me to help a mass murderer?" reaction
>>

>We can use some friends, instead of turning people into enemies. There's nothing wrong woth being civil. There's no need toact like some retarede alpha male wannabe in this situation.

Yeah, exactly. Thats why i agree with you regarding 'lol throw love in his face and be a dick about it'.
>>

Reposting this.
>"You actually aren't the first person to point this out to me. Well, not this specifically, but... Love, as a whole. I've been told that I'm not capable of love. Not like a proper human being, anyway. I didn't really know how to respond to it then, either. Maybe I -should- be insulted. I don't know. Maybe the fact that I don't know is more telling than anything.

>I never wanted to be this way, though. Not really. If I had more time for introspection, I might be able to work it all out, eventually. But all the same... Yes. Were I in your shoes, I suppose I would probably say yes, it's cruel. But I don't -want- to be this way, and Mio... Well, she helps. More than she knows. She helps keep me anchored. I feel happier when she's around, like I'm actually here to stay, and not... Just visiting.

>Maybe you understand that? I don't really expect you to get the details, but... There's something about you. Right from day 1, I've felt that you're hiding something, just like me. Hey, might as well air it out while we're honest, right?

>So even if my ability to love and to care is not real, and not up to your standards, I'm still not going to just roll over. Not until I know that she is safe, and happy."

May need to edit it for less drama.
>>
>>31702358
>You realize that we've never gotten anything out of the Smilers re: Hecate?

We've also never asked - or asked in any situation where talking is an option.

Whether he'd be WILLING to betray his side to help someone else in the name of love is a very telling test of character, though.
>>
>>31702364
Oh god no, don't use this. What if he's completely uninvolved? Like Kazu was/is when we thought he was Chrome.

>>31702392
Laughing isn't being a dick, it's being amazed at how wrong he is. Joker wants to get this one right, and Naoya can't see that.

How I see it at least.
>>
>>31702423
We have. At several points. If he is Pazzy he'll react just like Kraken and Bardiel.

And he wouldn't betray his side are you kidding.
>>
>>31702424
>Oh god no, don't use this. What if he's completely uninvolved? Like Kazu was/is when we thought he was Chrome.

Then he's still a jerk for dating a smiler, cheating on her, and FYI if he wasn't in league with megumi - he's still sacrificing her to a cradle, which is why he called us for help earlier.

ALL signs point at naoya being a twat.

If you want to be sure, then transform and challenge him, and see which player he really is
>>
>>31702445
>Then he's still a jerk for dating a smiler, cheating on her, and FYI if he wasn't in league with megumi - he's still sacrificing her to a cradle, which is why he called us for help earlier.
You do realize that them dating was never confirmed? It was something Megumi mentioned.
>If you want to be sure, then transform and challenge him, and see which player he really is
That won't work. We already tried and Akira also tested him. It'll just leave our body in the Real vulnerable.

Transform ing near him is practically asking th Red World to force a vs battle, anyway.

This looks way better if you cut out the third line.

Supporting

Anyway, this shit is too important and potentially world-altering to just (potentially) straight up give a hyades-involved girl to the smilers.

I don't care how it's brought up, but these concerns need to be brought up, and I trust JQOP to do a decent job with the conversation.
>>
>>31702445
>he's still sacrificing her to a cradle
Eh? Megumi doesn't use a cradle. And she didn't call for help, something else is going on there.

We've tried transforming to catch him in the Red before, he didn't show up.
>>
>>31702480
>Eh? Megumi doesn't use a cradle. And she didn't call for help, something else is going on there.

See her call for help last thread/thread before last.

Also further proof of Naoya's jerkitude from last thread:

"Wait a second. Megumi. Did he tell Mio to show up at the mall so she'd see Anon with Megumi?"

This is another setup!

Do Not Fall For The bait!

Also, IIRC we actually didn't transform in the red last time - we just missed him leaving due to hesitation.
>>
>>31702480
>Eh? Megumi doesn't use a cradle

Cradles are for turning people into amalgams, anon. The humm of wirring machinery in the background and all that...

yeah, and have mio think we're cheating on her. AGAIN.
fall for the same trick twice, yeah? no wonder the smilers think we're dumb.

There is no 'potential information'.

>>31702646
Thats not defusing it, that's asking for girldrama. Mio is INSANELY JEALOUS of megumi, and we're supposed to meet mio in an hour.

THATS why naoya+megumi = hell devil manipulatrix pairing. They're working together to drive us and mio apart, and acknowledging their games is playing RIGHT into their hands.

Telling her is a sight better than hiding the thing.

Tell Mio that megs seemed to be having some trouble with her love life and needs some help or something.

have more votes, particularly the: "No, I don't. I'm not convinced, naoya. I see what your game is. You don't actually have any interest in Mio. " part.
>>
>>31702772

Call him on his bullshit but leave out the waifu stuff.
>>
>>31702687
I had a lot of trouble with saying everything I felt I wanted to say without speechifying, and I failed on that count. Needs to say "Yes, I have not done this right" and "I want to get this right", with a side of "I'm going to do it right."

>>31702712
Not a crisis, an epiphany. A realization of "I can/should do better." Timing could be better, but nothing like crisis to make you decide what you want.

>>31702665
This looks more like a plurality to me.
>>
>>31702731
>(Gentlemen: This seems to be in the majority. Writing now.)

A -5, a veto, and +3(one of which is watashiwa voting the thing he wrote originally) so really a+2, is a 'majority' now?
>>
>>31702772
>I'll admit; I can't seem to find a majority decision from the various choices listed, unfortunately.)
See >>31702776
I'm not sure if it will even be possible to get a consensus.

Hell, I'm probably the only dude who doesn't suspect the guy of being a murdering child rapist and actually thinks that he's genuine.

Fuck, how the hell do we get a proper compromise? There isn't exactly a harem route for Joker.

Anyway, I vote for confronting him about Megumi.
>>
>>31702791

You missed the follow-up post. But yeah, this is a thorny issue.
>>
>>31702772
>(My apologies, I may have misread it. Gentlemen, I understand this is a sensitive issue - But if possible, I'd like a general consensus on this one, to avoid misunderstandings.

I'm going to go with general themes/concensus I see people agree on.
1) Confront naoyao some
2) leave the waifu stuff behind
3) speak out to our feelings for mio as not being fake
4) use all of the above to hit him with the guilthammer for cheating on megumi
5) see what he reveals about his girlfriend/plans/smilers
6) play it by ear. Dont' go all in heavy handed on anything
>>
>>31702772
If there is no majority decision, try to find a compromise between the various opinions
>>
>>31702772
>>31702793
>Anyway, I vote for confronting him about Megumi.

Yeah let's not solve the waifu problem right now. I think that >>31702160 has the right idea minus the Hecate parts:

>"No, I don't. I'm not convinced, naoya. I see what your game is. You don't actually have any interest in Mio. "
"All the kids at school just cannot stop talking about some biiig event, about the smiler gang experimenting and torturing on people. Your girlfriend's gang. You've been loyal to her before you started making eyes at Mio."
>"Maybe I'm wrong about you - but I hope you didn't come here empty handed. Why don't you cut the crap and tell me what this is really about?"
>>
>>31702793
>Hell, I'm probably the only dude who doesn't suspect the guy of being a murdering child rapist and actually thinks that he's genuine.
I'm pretty sure he's on the level, on this count.

>>31702808
He's not cheating, he broke up with Megumi before she raided Holophusikon.
>>
So Just general tone of the reply:

1) Call him on bullshit [Signs point to yes]

2) Call him a hypocrite and ask him what about Megumi, did he toy with her feelings too?

[Yay/Nay]

3) Declare undying love for Mio

[Yay/Nay]
>>
>>31702821
>>Hell, I'm probably the only dude who doesn't suspect the guy of being a murdering child rapist and actually thinks that he's genuine.

If he is, then there are ways to test him for that.

Most of which involve a level of honestly that anonymous clams up and vetos whenver people try to tell anyone anything secret
>>
>>31702824
>3) Declare undying love for Mio
And that's the issue.
I would be totally okay with Mio as a good friend to brighten the day instead of our girlfriend, with Hecate being the real girlfriend.
However, that would depend on Mio's decision. And for that we'd need to have a proper talk with her.
>>
>>31702824
1)Yes
2)Yes
3)Nay
>>
>>31702821

So he's a better person than anon. He's mature enough not to lead anyone on.
>>
>>31702838

are you mixing up hecate and cybele?
if so, this is now a 3-way battlefield

Anyway, I vote to table talk of waifus and engame preferences because a)everything may change tomorrow and b) we should deal with what's right in front of us right now, and not let it cloud or judgement

Wait for fate to remove candidates from the harem, like happened to Cybele?
...I'm pretty sure that will cause Anon to end up alone and full of regret.
>>
>>31702824
>3) Declare undying love for Mio
Maybe not undying, but definitely SOME kind of love, even if it's not romantic.
>>
>>31702772

Just do the most IC option you can at this point.

Build on our relationships, all the information we've witnessed, add in a bunch of mistrust(soured my megumi and carried over by relationship), add in a dash of urgency and the RJ being fed up with this stuff and do what comes naturally
>>
>>31702877

We're already been walking the path of regret. Everything RJ has done can be traced back to the loss of something or someone.

A happy end for RJ may not be likely.
>>
>>31702838
>However, that would depend on Mio's decision
why would we let someone else's decision confuse our life further ?
If Joker is leading Mio on, he deserves all the bad things that are going to happen to him.
>>
Guys, just something I wonder about:
Did we see Asuna's redesign with the Black Joker emblem before or after the Hollow Sun detected us as the Black Joker?

>>31702887
I can agree on a "she's important to me" at least.
>>
>>31702890
That's a good idea.
Would everyone else be okay with leaving the choice up to JQOP?
>>
>>31702890

Okay, fair. I'd be willing to change my vote away from 3)nay to some sort of moderate admissing, because damn, mio IS special

>>31702877
That's gonna happen if Argent wins anyway.
We're on a timelimit to:
Get our hyades out of the red
Free Mio from being trapped in the red
Do a fuckton of work and see if Hecate is still alive, much less in a saveable state.

The way I see it:
Mio is the best gal - for our non-redjoker mannerisms, and the prospect of being cut off from the red forever is making us think as a human bean.
Cybele we have a deep connection and feel sorry for due to similair experiences being trapped in the red, even if she is wierd and offputting and tried to brainwash us. The RJ thinks its fair to rescue her and put her on even footing with the other, real girls. Cruel, but its the law of the red and the wild to take what you want.
Hecate: We've moved past her, found other connections which would make going back to her hard, even if she would have us - she warned us not to stray, and we have, but she still saved our life. She's the one who accepted the Joker, and opened the door for others. I don't see this working out, but I DO think we owe her a rescue attempt
>>
>>31702896
>I can agree on a "she's important to me" at least.

i can get behind this, and i've been vehemently arguing
>>
>>31702939
So it all boils down to:
Save all the girls, because all of them are important, and only decide for one of them afterwards.
You can mend a broken heart. You can't repair an obliterated and processed soul.

Doubt that though. All the little things RJ has done still hows he has yet to move forward from the loss.

He hasnt let go yet. Not at all.

>"Maybe I'm wrong about you - but I hope you didn't come here empty handed. Why don't you cut the crap and tell me what this is really about?"

A silence descends, as powdery flakes of snow drift down from above - Each one perfect, unique, an impossibly intricate crystal that lingers for the space of a breath. Naoya glances to the side, with the slightest shake of his head; He seems embarrassed, somehow, but more for you than for himself.

"-We broke up," he says, quietly - In the pale light of the moon, his expression is carefully composed. "I told her - Everything. The truth; How I felt about her, and her past. How I feel about Mio."

"And she-"

He draws a shuddering breath, then exhales; White vapour curling away from his mouth.

"You see, I can't abide secrets. Let's be honest; They're lies. The thing is, people are - there are too many - greedy, mean, selfish liars. It's the way things work; It's the way things are."

"And because that kind of behavior is rewarded year after year after year-"

"...That's why the world is filled with them. That's why our world is..."

"-Well."

He casts around the desolation, taking it all in with his gaze. Naoya's shoulders slump, slightly, as his gloved hands tighten on the grips of his motorcycle. "-You need to learn this, and learn this fast."

"Because someday, you're going to grow up."

He looks at you - Directly at you - for a moment, and there's something keen-edged and discomfiting in his gaze. "Megumi...She wouldn't tell me anything. That's what came between us. Secrets - They take a life of their own, until-"

"...One day, you can't remember who you're supposed to be."

Naoya's eyes go distant, his lips setting in a thin line. For a moment, he seems lost in a reverie of his own - Then he breathes out, a little sigh. "-I don't know you. Not really, at least. You're not of the Church, either; And so, I can only speak to you as one man to another."

"You are wracked with doubt and uncertainty because, I think, that you fear the truths others require from you. Very often, it's easier to resent the silence and begrudge the ambiguities, than to confront the questions that must be asked; To acknowledge your own culpability."

"So - I'm going to give you a chance to do the right thing."

He glances down, for a moment - At his watch.

"The festival ends in...Three days, I think. At the end of it, one way or another - I'll tell Mio how I feel. And the answer I'll receive, I think..."

Naoya meets your gaze again, briefly.

"-That's all up to you."

yeah. hrmn. Lets explore this.

put a hand to our foerhead, and sigh. Find someplace to sit, brush the snow off, and do so - make it clear that we're here to chat for a bit.

Sigh, as his words hit home.

"You're telling me to grow up - but I already have. So much I've come around again* *lazy circular gesture with a finger*.
had someone I could have opened my heart to, once. Not in a high school crush way."
"The smilers took her. I'm pretty sure she's dead. "
"I'm sorry I snapped at you. "
"Its not that I don't care for mio. Its that all I have left is second best."

Don't say anything else. Just..... just drop that cannonball into the pool.

Be quiet a moment. naoya wants a heart to heart, watashiwa and others want positive progress...
...so, now seems like a really good time to just be simple, honest, and try to puzzle things out.

I'm not saying let him have mio, just.... talk. We're nearly at the endgame, we might as well review the steps that led us here.
>>
>>31703134

He turns the key in the ignition, and the engine rumbles to life. The sulphurous yellow headlights cut shimmering passages through the gloom, as Naoya turns his face-concealing helmet in his hands - He's smiling, a little wan, as he archs an eyebrow.

"-That's only fair, I think."

Hes said alot.

But Talk is Cheap.

But on the off chance we're wrong, and theres that anon that goes on about megumi+Naoya being this conniving duo, we've put mio in a very very bad position.

has the right of it, but not even a solid decisions!
i feel that MANY of our options in this quest are subpar and biased by people doing anything they can to not rock the boat when it comes to their favored interests.

And I think that JQop kind of wants to have us what we really, actually want ahead of time and not on the spot.
that means.... just going over everything that's been good about our love interests so far - if not making a decision, then a refresher course.

Because the OP can weave words like a pro, inspire boners for an entire case of girls, and sometimes the audience needs to be reminded why they're here

Naoya settles his helmet in place - Anonymous once more, as he pulls his coat closer around him, against the cold. You take a step back, as snow and slush funnels into the air; He raises a hand in a silent gesture, something that might almost be a salute...Before he turns his attention to the road, once more, and guns the throttle.

The engine roars, and - Trailing a crimson wake - his motorcycle accelerates into the distance, the pools of illumination shed by the headlights preceding him, racing away into the distance. He turns the corner, the echoes dopplering away into the night.

It's dark. Cold, and getting colder.

And overhead, the silver moon...

Once again, you begin to walk.

The plaza before it - Adorned with abstract representations of the zodiac animals - is a place of transition, with people bustling in and out: With music playing, the mood is oddly festive.

Reassuring, somehow. Like looking through a window, into a good home where fires burn merrily in the hearth. Even the cold doesn't seem quite so oppressive, here; Not with this many people around.

Actually, we do. She's a Hyade, one who's older than Cybele. There are twelve Hyades, if Asuna's art can be trusted. When one leaves for whatever reason, a new one is installed. Cybele is new. This is her first game. Where the other Hyades are cold, jaded and dangerous, she's sweet and cutesy-creepy.

Seeing so many loves killed and hopes dashed... well, you can only take so much of that before you'll do anything at all to make it stop.

So just a side topic now that we're past the most contentious point.

I wanna get Isao a relic from the Hollow Sun to help improve his firepower. I was thinking the Hellion Launcher. His fighting style probably has him knowing when and how to fire a lethal payload to make his shots counts since he only has 3 of his missiles.

The revolver type weapon (hi acc, high dmg) would probably be a good fit for him.
>>
>>31703562
But we don't have anything else to do tonight other than meeting Megumi Its only logical to open the memory after the meeting.

You look around, surreptiously. There's a lot of people, to be sure; Even so, Megumi would probably stand out. There's no-one you recognize - Not immediately, at least, until...

Wait.

-A familiar face, at last...Though one you certainly weren't expecting to see. Leaning against a support pillar, Aoba Sakaguchi checks his watch: He holds a bouquet of flowers against his chest, secured with a twist of ribbon. It's a large one, and he cradles it awkwardly, like someone who doesn't really know what to do with his hands - He reaches up to tug at his stiff collar, looking ever-so-slightly nervous.

He looks like he's just come from work, his clothes slightly rumpled - Still, his expression is earnest enough, and he doesn't even spare you a glance.

> [X] "-I'm alone."
> "If you could see me then you would know that I'm alone."

> "That's not what I'm..."

Megumi cuts herself off, mid-sentence, and sighs.

> "Ah, well...If that's what Anon-kun's concerned about - I guess I don't have to worry, either."

He actually has a new permanent weapon, his plague gun. We should give him our LFC'd Arc Gun. We're not going to be needing fusion cells anymore.

>>31703580
I think it might take a full day it's so important. We're inviting Natsumi and maybe Isao to the Hollow Sun tomorrow, but other than that it should be free. It's too late to do any substantial exploration this day, and OP's expressed a desire to [montypythonGETONWITHIT.gif] get on with it already.

>>31703598
No relic purchases. Still more research to do.

On that note, we're gaining over 20 HS energy every session. Let's start some. Anyone willing to second the support-Hellions?

>>31703628
Close, she was worried that we'd brought someone with. Agree on that second part.
>>
>>31703648

Yea but thats probably a built in one. I don't think he'd risk a relic roulette and its also likely to be weak and cause damage over time.

A hi alpha-dmg relic weapon for him would help.
>>
>>31703648
>We're inviting Natsumi and maybe Isao to the Hollow Sun tomorrow, but other than that it should be free.
Keep charge ready for that situation. So today we'll need to have at least 5% left if we want to give Hisao an item.
I would love to give both of them presents, actually. But most people will likely veto me.
>>
Oh, yeah, something immediate:
Change Hellion production to basics on low and Virtues on off.
>>
>>31703666
We haven't seen what it can do yet. I agree that he needs some building up, but who knows if a very accuracy dependent weapon, like the Launcher seems to be, is a good fit.

Besides, I thought we'd agreed that the Red Joker doesn't give away guns?

>>31703682
We should go back to the original hive and pick up the LFC we dropped. Give one of ours to each of them. It's admittedly not much, but it drastically improves Haze's loadout and could round out Cypher a bit.
>>
>>31703703
>Besides, I thought we'd agreed that the Red Joker doesn't give away guns?
I see this as an initiation rite for real friends. Our true allies all get a relic.

The only way you're getting a gun from Red Joker is if you prise it from his cold, dead metal hand.

The Launcher works better for Chrome.

From the viewing gallery, above - You catch a glimpse of gold. Leaning against the railing, a coat draped over her school uniform, Megumi smiles, faintly - Her handphone still cradled against her ear - and waves.

>>31703498

> "Ah, don't be like that~"

Her voice crackles faintly, over the speaker.

> "Megumi... you're not very good at playing that kind of character."

A pause. Then - Much more softly now, almost to herself, Megumi says:

> "...I suppose."

She sounds a little sad, the flirtarious note gone from her voice:

> "-Is it really that obvious?"

Her words linger, for a moment. And then:

> "Anon-kun...There's a nice cafe on the first floor, just inside the doors. I'll meet you there."

> [X] Enter the Mall.

-----------------------------

Megumi's right. The cafe *is* a nice one; Even with green umbrellas indoors, over the smoking section, for no particular reason. The name is French, unpronounceable - But you're sure it's fairly significant. The aroma of fresh-baked bread and coffee lingers, like a pleasant haze...

"Anon-kun~" Megumi's voice is a sweet, pleasant lilt ~ She looks like a girl about to meet her boyfriend, her smile teasing and a little coy; One hand resting on her lap beneath the table, the other tapping lightly against a glass of something fizzy and fruity - A straw curling out of the frosted glass.

You can't help but notice that - On the table's varnished surface - there's an old-model cassette player, a pocket one; The green telltale of power flickers fitfully as it plays without sound.

"-It's been a while."

> [X] "It has. It really has."

Megumi's gaze darts to the side - She can't meet your eyes, for a moment.

"I know," she says. "...That's why I wanted to meet with you. This might - It really may be the last chance."

> [X] "-You look well."

The slightest smile; It's different from Megumi's usual cheeriness, which - As you've realized - is just a facade. This one; It's exhausted, full of distant and lingering pain, but infinitely more honest.

"So do you. If I didn't know any better..."

Her lips curve, just a little more-

"...I'd say that Anon-kun has grown into a fine man." She laughs, at her own words - Rubbing at her temples, for a moment. "-But then, we're not who we used to be, are we? Neither of us."

A sigh. "I - shouldn't be talking to you, you know," Megumi says. "If the others knew..."

Her voice trails off, as she leaves the rest unsaid.

"It's strange, isn't it? At this point - I don't know why, but...It feels like I need someone to talk to. Someone who isn't..." She catches herself, biting her lip in momentary agitation.

Then, quietly:

"You have questions, don't you? I know you do."

A glance, down at the cassette player. "It's not the same one, you know," Megumi says - "...This one stops other people from listening in - As if they ever would." A pause, a hesitation, and she adds-

"...Hecate did good work."

> [X] "Father Yasuda's worried about you, you know."

Her expression turns inwards, troubled.

"...I know," she says, simply. "-I know."

> [X] "Wait - You knew Hecate?"

"Pazuzu's favourite?" Megumi allows herself a small, wry chuckle. "Anon-kun...It's hard to imagine a Smiler who didn't." Her gaze turns pensive, her fingertips resting lightly on the table's polished surface; "-She was with him from the start."

"The rest of us - Bardiel, Rust Kaiser, Enfer - we came later. Maybe that's why..."

> "Hecate could make those?"

"-And more besides."

She shakes her head, lightly - "...I wonder what she knew. Why she ran. If I'd known, too..." - But then her lips twist, and she shakes her head. "-No, I'm not sure I would have."

> "Why bring back Phantom Edge?"
> "Who is the Thief?"
> "Who was my predecessor, and what did he have to do with the Smilers?"

A hesitation - The first one.

"I...don't know," Megumi says. "Anon-kun, I don't know *everything*. I..."

"-I don't even know *why* I'm talking to you..."

She swallows. Takes a slow sip from her drink, more to cover the silence than anything else.

> [X] "What is the black oil?"

"It's..." Her brow furrows. There's something sensitive, here - Something she's treading lightly around. "...It's - A catalyst, really. A thing from the Red World. It - I don't really understand - it *changes* people, somehow..."

Megumi breathes out, shallowly. "You could say that it - *activates* them. When extracted - When properly prepared - it can do different things, but..."

Her nails bite into her palm, and she says:

"-It's the Black Joker's blood."

Her words - They seem to linger, in the air. To echo. A superstitious shiver, as Megumi's gaze settles on a stain on the tabletop; Her voice a low murmur, now.

"I didn't know...I didn't *know* what it would do-" Something of her present situation seems to return to her, and her breath catches - She falls silent, a heartbeat later, her brow furrowing in agitation.

> [X] "What are the Cradles?"
> [X] "What are you *planning*?"

"That-"

For a moment, you think that she's about to say more. But something stops her, despite the rebel impulse that cries out for Megumi to unburden herself; The tension that winds through every fibre of her being.

She breathes.

"Anon-kun...You'll find out when everyone else does."

Her eyes meet yours, her gaze a little sad.

"-When it's too late."

Megumi's shoulders tremble, as she retreats into herself; Her hands clenching against her lap, her voice growing thick and clotted - "I never wanted - I didn't *want*...I just-" Her breath hitches in a sob - "...I just wanted to *help* him."

Her voice is loud enough to carry; But around you, the peaceful clamour of the other diners continue. No-one even looks in your direction - The hum of conversation, the clatter of cutlery, continuing.

"-But now he's become like this...Now he's become this *thing* - He doesn't...He doesn't care any more. Without me, he'd..." Her eyes glitter with unshed tears, her voice harsh with self-loathing as she shudders, in a paroxysm of revulsion - "...I thought - I thought it'd be *okay*. I...really did."

"He's *sick* - A, and he *keeps getting worse*-"

Her gaze settles on you, unseeing - Her words low, hushed.

"...Do you know what it's *like*, watching him? He's all I have - He's *all I have*, and he, he..." Her face *twists*, and at last - At long last - Megumi begins to cry. It's like a dam breaking, as she buries her face in her hands; Her hair coming undone, her body heaving with each harsh sob.

"I don't - I don't know what to *do*~!" Her voice is choked with misery - "Without them, he'll die - He'll be gone *forever*, but...*But*-"

Her fingers lock together, so tightly she rocks back and forth - Wiping at her eyes with her sleeve, which does nothing to stem her sobs.

"...I can't do it." It's a whisper. "-He's my only...I can't *give up* on him..."

"-Not now."

It's one thing to develop and grow as a person and entirely other to throw away all you've worked for right when it's in your reach.
RJ is obsessed with this, it would be more interesting if he actually finished it, succeed rather than just giving up to make his life easier. Finally reaching his goal is what will culminate all the established development that began in revenge arc. It's a lot more interesting this way than if he settled for the easy option.
>>

>It's one thing to develop and grow as a person and entirely other to throw away all you've worked for right when it's in your reach.
Prove it. What does Red Joker know right this second that demonstrates she's alive? She's BRAIN DEAD and kept alive by a machine. There was nothing in her Cradle.

She's gone, anon. Just a ghost and a memory.
>>
>>31704421

Hand her tissue, ruffle her hair, headpat.

"Megumi. What does he suffer from? What did they do to him.

Tell me. And if I can help, I will."

-----

This isn't waifuing btw. If we can do something about this, we can lure someone who has full knowledge on what the smilers are up to on our side, deprive the enemy of a strong asset and potentially gain one ourselves.

At the very worst, if we can't do anything, we at least gain an opportunity for Megumi to sneak us very close to Rust Kaiser to 'save him'. At which point we can possibly put him out of his misery.
>>
>>31704421

There is a slim chance that I might be able to do something. A *very* slim chance. I might get you two away from them.

"That is at least one thing we share in common."
>>
>>31704463
The whole Quest has been riddled with hints that she is alive somewhere and somehow.
>-You're in the Old City. A single streetlight flickers fitfully, askew at a crazy angle, blinking on and off with a low buzz of sound. It's dark, dreary - The sky above is still choked with dust, the rasping winds scraping the cracked streets and battered roads.
>-But now, as the Nihl Sphere warms beneath your touch, you have a star to light the way.
This also implies that with the Nihil Sphere, we can reach our main goal. RJs goal all this time was to find Hecate. He finally has the means with which to reach her, even though he's not sure where she is and how.
>>
>>31704531

I still think we need to head to the hospital.

A fully charged Nihl sphere may show a path.
>>
>>31704421
"What happened? You can tell me that much, at least."

"Megumi... I hate to ask this, but... why do you think that they would help him? He's strong as he is. And as long as he's here, you are. There's more in it for them to not help, and with the end approaching..."

"It makes me sick that I can think of that."

>>31704489
Didn't we see her death scene? We asked where she was right this second and were showed Nara Dreamland's end from her perspective.
>>
>>31704531
I don't have a facepalm strong enough. That was a metaphor. The Sphere gives off a bright light, so of course it's compared to a star. And with the Joker having finally struck a blow against the Smilers, he's starting to find his path.

It's not a Hecate hint.
>>

Megumi starts - Flinches, really - when you pat her head; Her hair is soft, silky to the touch, as she looks up at you. There's something wild in her eyes, something mad and frantic - The look of an animal in a trap, as the butcher approaches.

She laughs. It's a bitter sound, bitter and cutting.

"You don't understand - You *don't understand*-"

Her throat works, as she swallows.

"-The black oil...It's the *only thing keeping him alive*."

A kind of silence descends, wordless, plangent. For long moments, the only sound is Megumi's harsh breathing. "-I begged them," she says, in a small voice. "I *begged* them to use it on him. He was...in *so much pain*..."

Her small, perfect teeth work, worrying at the corner of her lip.

Then, dully; "He doesn't feel...anything, now. Nothing. He - He only eats when I put the food in his hand. Otherwise-"

A shallow breath. "-He just...waits. In the dark, with those things *growing* on him. Not sleeping, or feeling, or, or-"

>>31704570

"...Joker-kun..."

Her voice is a whisper. "Joker-kun - I...I know I shouldn't ask this, but-"

"...Can you please die?"

The pitch, the timbre of Megumi's voice rises by the moment. "If you die - Everything will be over. Kou-kun won't have to *fight* any more - And I'll finally, *finally* know...I'll know I can't do anything else. I won't feel guilty, or dirty, or *bad* any more-"

"So if only you could *die*-"

Her hands reach out towards you, her fingers hooked into claws.

The metaphor can have several interpretations.
What the Sphere does is light secret paths and open locked doors. It let's the owner explore what is hidden and find what he is searching for. The black sea gave the hint that Hecate is alive, but hidden. The Nihil Sphere can light the way he chooses, so RJ has reason to believe that with it at full power, he can reveal the correct road to saving Hecate.

RJ mentioned that they are built fundamentally different from Players and don't seem to have any combat abilities. At the same time, they seem know who RJ is and seemingly have a different role from everyone else.

Her face crumples, as if you've slapped her: "But then-" Her voice is plainitive, now, almost pleading. "...What do I do?"

"I...don't know what to *do*-"

It sounds like she's on the verge of tears, once more - But she's made of sterner stuff. It's a visible effort of will, her expression complex and alien at once...Until, slowly but surely, she draws back from you. Back from the brink.

STAGE: ANATOMETA

The world is a glittering glass carousel, gleaming walls rising on all sides - Hovering globes of witchfire casting a weird, writhing light. The walls are divided again and again, into individual cells - Honeycombed in way that defy both logic and physics. Mannequins twirl and pirouette with animatronic grace, as an orchestra of puppets plays on - Maniac, relentless, your HUD tracking their frenzied motion-

With *this* many people here, the stage is filled with ghosts. Half-glimpsed figures, in the vague and attenuated humanoid shapes - Drifting through the air like insubstantial mist, the murmur and mutter of their voices a background chorus...

One that mingles with the *fizz* of an energy discharge, a burning line etched across your field of vision; Your sensors pinging, as they trace the shot to-

...There. A ripple of motion, as mindless automata are buffeted by the aftermath of the shot. A matte-grey form, hunched beneath the weight of an enormous rifle; Thick cables linking Player and weapon, a monoeye burning just above a the smoked-glass line of a visor...

You don't recognize the Player. His name is obscured - Visible, but just a blurred line of code, smeared to anonymity.

You recognize the gun.

That was a Photon Beamer. And he wasn't aiming at you.

Burning vapour fountains into the air, a vertical column - Even as you hear the weighty *clunk* of the heavy weapon venting heat, an echo to the swirling cloud of embers and ash that takes flight-

...He was aiming at Bell Zephyr.

Servoes whirr, as you rise to your feet; Your weapons going active, hunting, your charging elements glowing with death-heat. Your Argus Sensor is registering energy readings - Two, four, six, eight, a *dozen* - going live in the alcoves above...

-And the greatest one is right in front of you. As the fuming fog of the blast dies away - A perfect crater carving a slice from the ground - the softly shimmering almost-glass curve of Bell Zephyr's personal shield refracts the light around you; The horned, lissome figure coiled upon itself in a fetal curl.

Her head comes up. Beneath the pagan horns of her bone death-mask, tiny spots of hellish crimson light flicker to life, razor-heels kissing the smoldering ground-

As the first six figures vault from floor above. Reaction-mass generators trigger, with a backwash as blunt as a grunt of pain - Each one is a Player massively scaled up, with brutal and obvious threat-postures; They look atavastic, like primal throwbacks, with spined knuckles and augmented arms bulging with myomer musculature. When activated, this binary invocation creates an electromagnetic pulse - A barrier that violently repulses everything in the vicnity as it expands, cause the air to arc and crackle with charged energies.

The ring's radius extends for roughly ten feet in every direction, though the exact distance constantly fluctuates; After the initial blast, the distortion field remains, disrupting nearby systems. EXEC_REPULSE is an active force: It can and does decrease in intensity in one area in order to actively lash out at nearby targets.

Players in the vicnity tend to 'seize up' if not sufficiently protected, slowing down while within the reach of the barrier. Correctors experience severe discomfort within the area of effect, until they're forced out of the radius.

Also it costs 80% cobalt

There's a CRUMP, the sound of multiple tons of metal losing all animation; The first juggernaut twitches, as a gritty explosion blossoms deep within the shell - Blowing out in a detonation of choking black smoke, locking up as it loses all motive power. It shudders as it tries to drag itself forward, but it can't move under it's own weight: The second one swinging off from the initial attack, more resistant, motions slowed even further as one great fist swings back-

The crackling *snap* of Bell Zephyr's whips - Lashes of seething lightning - splits the air. A flick of her wrist, and the first one carves a burning arc across the nearest juggernaut, leaving a molten scar; It doesn't slow it's lumbering advance, as Zephyr accelerates-

Everything goes white, as a *second* Photon Beamer blast stabs down. The beam sweeps right in front of you, shearing through the ground - The output's been boosted somehow, far more than the standard weapon - but from the way the first shooter's still struggling with his great rifle, the recharge rate's suffered even more.

Your Tempest Scrander roars, as you spring back - The shot goes wild, thundering past to slash through the far wall, leaving a wall of molten slag between you and the crippled juggernaut-

-A warning shot.

Three shooters. One Photon Beamer each.

This was *planned*.

Something like a blue supernova flares to life, as Bell Zephyr's scourging whip smashes into the seething sphere of a gravimetric barrier; It fractures, chips of lurid energy churning into the air, but holds - Corposant flickering around the great fists of her opponents, as the air thrums with the high, rising whine of power-

Distortion orbs lash forth. Each one is preceded by a furious streak of blue energy, expanding forth into fist-sized detonations that blister the narrow distance; Every blast a thunderclap, as the barrage hails down on Bell Zephyr. Her legs coil beneath her, and she *leaps* - Her parabolic arc becomes a spin, and her foot smashes a monoeyed sensor into shards as she vaults off the furious but not particularly fast haymaker that whistles past her.

Spines extrude from her shoulders, like fangs. There's a second face, at the small of her back - Something with chittering mandibles, with compound eyes that burn from within with hell-light; The spines beginning to buzz, their sickening drone filling the air-

Three Rifle Bits detach from your wing binders, as the bulky shapes of your Tau Guns shimmer into existence; The first shooter, revealed, visibly flinches as the Interceptors encircle him - But slaved to his weapon, he can't pull away in time, as focused photonic beams lance out. They slash through the cables linking him to the Photon Beamer, the weapon itself beginning to twist and slag as the rays burn precise holes through the barrel, the stock, the targeting sensors...When they hit the power cell, a sooty detonation folllows; The explosion hurls him away from the railing, momentarily out of sight.

One sniper disarmed. Just like that.

The ground rumbles, as the second juggernaut lurches towards you; Their speed, you note, is *entirely* reliant on their gravimetric generators, to support the incredible mass of armour and myomer augments. It moves with a loping, pounding gait, one entirely out of proportion to it's mass - Too late to join in the melee, he's orientated on you instead.

Distortion orbs - One, two, three, *four* - began to circle the juggernaut's crested helm, as he closes the narrow distance; EXEC_REPULSE seething around you, visibly bracing to lash out the moment he enters effective range-

HP: 230.8%
COBALT BOOSTER: 50%
ASSAULT SHROUD: 102%
METER: 26%

YOU HAVE CONTROL
>>
>>31706120

Obviously we can disable them.

Maintain Field. Activate Scrander and start flying close to the juggernauts, one after another, short them all out.

Bits are the claim the other two sniper weapons.

If there are other juggernaunts still standing after this and mobile, Tau gun them.
>>
>>31706120
Stop Repulse, initiate dual nova cannon and shoot at his distortion halo.
>>
>>31706120
Do we have visual on the other snipers? The Bits should do the same for them. Deploy a fourth bit to replace the one that's inevitably going to be wasted.

Just to be clear, are we the center of Exec_Repulse? It moves with us? Tyant Flash him and close to let Repulse knock him out.
>>
>>31706188
Changing vote to >>31706171
That's a good idea for making use of our AoE.
>>
>>31706171
Add:
Fire Nova Cannons at their distortion halos during the fly-by to disable them.
>>
>>31706258

At point blank range?

We'll be caught in the blast.
>>
>>31706258
Dear god no, these are gravity warping systems. We want them disabled, but not explosively.
>>
>>31706310
It's a fly-by. I'm obviously not voting to shoot while we are almost touching them.
>>
>>31706332
>>31706310
Well, then just fire the vulcans to annoy them a bit and build meter just in case.
>>
>>31706348

That means dismissing the Tau Guns.

Not a good idea.
>>
>>31706193

The second sniper's location - Thermal waste bleeding from his weapon - burns hot and clear on your sensors; Your Bits flitting towards him like flying knives, filling the air with hissing streams of criss-crossing energy as they juke and fire-

Even as the first distortion orb hurtles towards you, shedding sparks as it *curves* in your direction. It meets EXEC_REPULSE's crackling field; There's a fizzing clash of warring energies, and the orb dissipates - So does the second one, shredding apart as it leaves a ragged hole in your defenses. But your Tempest Scrander kicks you in the air, as the remaining blasts detonate behind you; Static clawing across your optic sensors, as your electromagnetic field gathers charge...

And you wrench the trigger of your first Nova Cannon, and shoot the juggernaut's leg out from under him. The knee joint of his armour swells, buckling beneath the initial impact - Then it shreds apart like the detonation of a short-fused grenade, the giant toppling with the ponderous grace of a tree felled by a storm as you burn towards the melee-

They're getting *faster*.

All five combatants are moving at fantastic speeds, fast enough that you can only catch glimpses of movement. Waves of gravimetric force slam out in all directions at once - No more distortion blasts, though the hum of engaged halos wars with the drone of Bell Zephyr's Relic. She's shed her whips for blades of arterial crimson, three clutched in each hand like tiger claws - She leaps, spins in the air, release them as they streak towards her targets like burning arrows-

...But another juggernaut is where *she should be*, and slams a fist at her. She seems bewildered, that they can match her speed, even as the third figure, then the fourth come in - Heedless of the blades that impale them as blows rain down, delivered by blurringly-fast fists-

So their ranged attacks slow them down.
>>
>>31706423

Shit.

If they're really doing damage, go for the kill on those things.
>>
>>31706490
Let OP write before writing in.

But I assume we will need the Carnifex.
>>
>>31706499

I'm only putting this in as JokerOP has used some inbetween posts suggestions before.

And a change like this warrants a change in priorities.

At least I'm not mouthing off to kraken
>>
>>31706499

After this we'll only have 30% booster. Probably not, I think.
>>
>>31706532
Carnifex has two modes, remember?

>>31706519
Unofficial policy should be to shout down between post suggestions unless they're really, really good. In this case, they're moving fast enough that any kind of shots have a good chance of hitting Bell as well.

I can't believe there were anons who thought it was a good idea.

There's a cracking sound, as one slugs her head-on. Her personal shield shatters, in splinters of energy - Bell Zephyr flies out of the group, shreds of mist trailing in her wake. An abrupt motion, and she's on her feet *even before she hits the ground*, and she wheels away as a great foot smashes down a hand's-breadth away from her, fracture-cracks spiderwebbing across the ground...

This all happens as you engage the Tempest Scrander and burn towards them. The juggernaut you've kneecapped is *still* falling.

And then there's a crack of thunder, and all three of your Bits go dead at once, the remaining one momentarily forlorn as it flits towards your original target-

-A grey blur, from above. Incredible speed - A powerful linear distortion. You can't respond fast enough, as it spears into you from the side; A speeding bullet, trailing St. Elmo's fire, the great impact flinging you off-course as you smash through the railing at the far end and into the orchestra of puppets-

A very familiar form looms above you, reality distorting like a lens. Even with his silver armour dulled to grey, you recognize him immediately.

"-You just couldn't stay away, could you?" Armaros's voice is a bass rumble, as arcs of lightning leap between his fists. "Fucking *Joker* - You don't know what's good for you."

You can feel his distortion halo - The furious engine of his mind - vising down around you, crushing you into the floor. The juggernauts, as far as you can tell, are the result of mass-production; A process refined and simplified for speed and efficiency.

The thing that powers Armaros's form - Smaller, but more intimidating somehow - is on a different scale entirely.

Then why did he bring flowers?

>"-You just couldn't stay away, could you?" Armaros's voice is a bass rumble, as arcs of lightning leap between his fists. "Fucking *Joker* - You don't know what's good for you."

"You are the one that started assaulting my guest retard. If you didn't want to fight me then why the fuck did you attack her while I was still near her?"
>>
Hmm.

This isn't good.

I don't want to deplete Argent's firepower, aoba-suckiness or not.

Should we withdraw with bell?

If we use our meter, we can marshall up a few turns of carnifex while we burn away with Megumi.

>>31706638

Probably an attempt to 'blend in'
>>
>>31706638

Oh shit. This makes PERFECT SENSE. A man who's lost his wife and child less than a month ago wouldn't start dating all over again. His body was on autopilot during that time.

Fuck.
>>
>>31706660
More than likely he ducked into a flower shop while tailing Megumi.
>>
>>31706650
Yeah, this. It's obvious that Armaros wanted to kill BOTH RJ and Megumi so called him out on that.
>>
>>31706652
>Should we withdraw with bell?
We probably should.

On the other hand I'm really kind of irritated by him and his incompetence, so I'm considering fucking up his Juggernaut and using it (but not him) as the primer for a Void Anchor.
>>
>>31706712
I'm definitely in favor of killing all the automatons.
But that only works if we disable the guy first.
Then again, he's a player. Players almost never retreat.
>>
>>31706712
>On the other hand I'm really kind of irritated by him and his incompetence, so I'm considering fucking up his Juggernaut and using it (but not him) as the primer for a Void Anchor.

Odd. I was thinking that too.
>>
>>31706712
I feel the same minus the wasting our VA bit.
>>
>>31706730
Also, guys, there's at least one sniper still alive.

Thankfully, Cybele's emblem still works. It just cycles more slowly.

He doesn't know what you are, however.

He doesn't know how much he's about to regret it, as the crusher of the Carnifex snaps down around your helm.

>>31706650

"How the hell did you avoid our sensors, anyway? Be a good boy and *stay dow-"

He stops, suddenly. "*Oh shi-*"

The air opens up. Dimensions writhe upon each other, as a blazing doorway creeps open into reality in a rush of stale air and ozone.

A pitch-black form - All rust and pitted iron - takes shape. Mismatched eyes, icy blue and hell-red, burn with elemental fury as - With a cackling werewolf growl - ossified joints ratchet into motion.

And a name:

RUST KAISER

JOKER QUEST

>RUST KAISER
Yeah nah, fuck this. Time for RJ to get the fuck out of there and let them kill each other.
>>
>>31706748

(Gentlemen; My apologies, but it's extremely late on my end, and I'm entirely exhausted. There were some technical issues on my end, which led to a reduction in the posting rate...Fortunately, we've managed to cover a substantial amount of ground in this episode, and this looks like a natural break point.

Good night and God bless - I hope to catch you again soon.)
>>
>>31706748
Well, this will be fun hilarity time.
>>
OK, Operation GET THE FUCK OUT OF DODGE is in order.

We tell Aoba to get him and his people out and fuck off.

Depending on the situation, we might attempt to delay Rust Kaiser for abit or we just hoof it with Bell.

Do you guys think Rust Kaiser will chase down Bell if shes with us?
>>
>>31706824

You're aware that Rust Kaiser is Kou, right? The only person he cares about is Bell.
>>
>>31706748
Now the question is how sentient Rust Kaiser is at the moment.
We should tell our current enemy that he should run away, though.
>>
>>31706782
VA are very likely to explode if not placed into a safe area.
>>
>>31706832

I know but if we don't mean her harm?

Will he still chase her down?
>>
>>31706748
Oh god fucking damnit

And we used up all our goddamn Booster.
>>
>>31706847

I don't think he's here to kill her. I think he's here to protect her at all costs, if that's what you mean.
>>
>>31706842

Well, we are potentially leaving the area in a hurry.

Hopefully Rust Kaiser leaves to follow either us or Aoba's folk and the silly fuckers have the good sense to run instead of dicking around with the unkillable thing.
>>
>>31706824
>>31706835
Why even bother telling Armaros anything? It's his fault that things got like this. Hell, hopefully Rust Kaiser will destroy the Juggernauts while Anon and Megumi escape.
>>
>>31706874

Because even after all that shit hes done, hes still a strong asset against the true foe, the smilers.

I don't care about the Juggs. They're equipment. But I hope Aoba and his players get clear.
>>
>>31706873
>>31706896
Nah, I'm fed up with Armaros. His survival is all up to him right now, I won't vote for doing anything heroic to save him next thread, ESPECIALLY since we are talking about saving him from fucking Rust Kaiser.
>>
>>31706824
Rusty's going to fuck up Aoba. And us if we're in the area. We're probably going to try and keep both sides from killing each other until we can get the majority of the combatants out.

We should try to pop Aoba out of his suit so we can plant the VA on it. Maybe after Kaiser bashes Aoba enough we can use Fortress Mode to contain Kaiser and cut Aoba loose.
>>
>>31706931
Dude, are you kidding me? Think how much he'll HATE owing his survival to Red Joker, after he just got done alpha striking Joker and attacking him out of nowhere.
>>
>>31706931
You know, I'd love to murder the fuck out of him.
But that would kinda put us into a bad light with AP.
>>
>>31706954
Armaros has a bigger stick up his ass than fucking Argent. Do you seriously think that he would care?

>>31706986
I'm against outright murder if he stops fighting RJ but I won't be sad if Rust Kaiser fucks him up.
>>
>>31706937

I wonder if Bell can calm Rust Kaiser down if we get Aoba and Co to withdraw
>>
>>31706986

Keeping him alive would probably help the overall war effort against the smilers since AP is indisposed. He dies, Argent's faction is going to be headless for awhile.
>>
>>31707011
It won't make him nicer, but I bet it'd scald his soul.

>>31707012
Maybe if he doesn't remember we blew him up in the Spire.
>>
Shit, depends on how things go on between Armaros and Rust Kaiser we might end up having to blow our cover early and reveal the Midas Gauntlet.

But the question is-who do we go for first, Armaros or Rust Kaiser? And do we attempt to kill them or just subduing?
>>
>>31707873

If we kill Kaiser, Megumi will hate us. FOREVER.
>>
>>31707991

We are most likely going to have to kill her eventually. Same for Rust.
>>
>>31707991
And if Armaros kills him, she'll blame us.
And if she dies, Rust Kaiser will try to murder us.

Really, best case if EVERYONE survives and the automatons die to give us a bit of EXP.
>>
>>31708186

Or if we kill them both. To be completely honest, I think that Rust Kaiser can't be turned. It's a paradox, because Megumi will hate us if Kaiser dies, but Kaiser is already a mindless killing machine.
>>
>>31708223
We also hate Kaiser. He did love to taunt us.
>>
>>31708283

I don't recall him saying much, to be honest.
>>
>>31708283
That was Kraken.
