...As you start to speak up, you hear a woman scream from towards the plains. Is there...?

Inigo stands up quickly, slinging his sheath and sword into place.

"Ah! A maiden in peril!" He yells, running off towards the source.

>Follow him!

Ah! He's your best source of information, and you're pretty sure you know him from somewhere...

You can't let him run off and get himself killed!

You rush after him, catching up within a minute.

...Inigo is crouched behind a bush at the edge of the forest, clenching his fist as... A band of thugish looking men rummage through a wagon, as their apparent leader leers at a woman- the owner of the wagon?- on the side, holding a knife to her throat.

...You can't make out what he's saying, but it's obviously threatening...

...Inigo seems ready to rush out and attack them...

>Cunning plan

You rush over stealthily, grabbing Inigo's arm as he starts to stand up.

"No, no! I've got a plan." You whisper, yanking him down. "I'll be a distraction, and you sneak around and save whoever that is."

"What sort of man would I be if I let a lady go off and endanger herself like that?" He says, shaking his head. "No, you sneak around, I'll distract them."

He starts to stand up again, but you pull him back down. Again.

"No. no, it'll be fine! From what I remember, my dad taught me how to be a tactician, I know what I'm doing!" You wave him off to the side, pulling out the tome you have... Thunder, huh?

...

"Fine. Not like I'll win this argument, anyway..." Inigo sighs, then nods. "I'll try and get to him on the left. Just don't get yourself injured, okay?"

"Wasn't planning to, anyway! I'm tougher than all of these thugs, anyway." You grin. Wait- How did you...?

...Inigo gives you an odd look, before just moving off quietly, to behind different cover.

...Time to distract!

You charge out of the bushes, tome in hand.

"Hold it right there!" You yell, and the... Four bandits turn to glare at you, their leader glancing back from his captive. "Let her go!"

"There's one of you, girl, and five of us." Their leader shouts back. "Unless you're wanting to join her, you made a horrible move!"

"Get her, boys!"

How accurate are we with lightning? Do we risk friendly fire on the lady?

If we have clear shot on the leader:
>kite the bandits with ax
>keep distance and a clear line of site on the leader
>when Inigo is ready, lightning the leader and let him rescue the captive

If we don't have a clear shot:
>shock the closest bandit until down
>retreat while shocking them, focus on keeping them back and looking outnumbered and frightened
>Axe out once Inigo is in position
>charge through the bandit circle/line
>>

>Friendly fire is nigh impossible, unless she gets used as human shield.

>You have a clear shot, but aren't in range.

>>31730504
No, let him deal with the captain on his own. The reason he's on the stealth mission is because he has a weapon capable of stealth missions.

You smirk.

"You're an AMATEUR!" You yell, runes forming around your arm faster and larger than normal.

The bolt fired is both bigger and faster than the one you launched first, and you can see Inigo's expression change to one of either terror or awe as he dives to the side.

The leader, on the other hand, doesn't, and his entire body is enveloped in electricity.

"No hard feelings!" Inigo says as he regains his footing, swinging his blade into the man with both hands.

...

The bandit hits the ground in two pieces, with a loud thud. You can hear a retching noise from under the wagon, like someone feeling ill

His three remaining minions seem to panic, and scatter, running off into the plains.

"Man, I guess he was shocked." You say, watching as color- green, specifically- returns to Inigo's face.

You shrug, looking under the wagon...

"You okay down there?" You ask, getting a feeble reply.

...

There's a few minutes of people throwing up, or whimpering, before you realize they -might- be being disturbed by the body, and drag both parts of him away from the area, though the ground remains blood soaked.

...After another few minutes, Inigo's evidently recovered somewhat, and you manage to coax the merchant back out from under her cart.

...Evidently, her name is Saki, and she's a vendor by trade, traveling between.. "Cho'sin" and "Old Ram" with various (and expensive) trade spices. But with the kingdom of Valm and its war going on... Well, the roads have been less safe...

Inigo looks more troubled upon hearing the names...

You suggest to Saki that maybe you could travel along with her, providing a measure of protection if she'd like it.

A brief negotiation later, you're getting fed and so is your new buddy, if he decides to go with you.

As the merchant rolls off at a somewhat slow speed, you stay behind, watching as Inigo paces back and forth, obviously worrying about something and distracted.

"So..." You say, flopping down on the side of the road. "Why'd you come back to this time?"

...Inigo is silent for a moment, staring at you, before sighing.

"The future I, and probably you, came from is... Less than perfect." He says, shaking his head. "Actually, no. It's a nightmare given shape. An apocalypse torn wasteland..."

...Oh.

"Myself, my sister, my cousin, and a number of our friends and allies all decided that, since we couldn't undo it, we needed to stop it." He continues, taking a seat across the road from you and slumping somewhat. "Luckily, so did, well, a dead goddess' prophet."

"She managed to take on the mantle, and open a thing called an 'Outrealm Gate' to send us back." He sighs loudly. "Except Owain and I had gone off to... "

There's a pause...

"Well, that's a different story. We went to get something that we thought would help us stop the world from dying, and got ambushed by a terrifying and mighty general of the monster that had ruined our world on our way back." Inigo rubs his forehead. "We were delayed getting back, but were obviously within range of the Gate opening."

"Except we got thrown off. We're on the wrong continent, and we even got split up..."

...There's silence as you digest that, and Inigo watches your expression.

"Well, why were you freaking out over that guy? He was trying to kill you, right?" You stand up, shrugging. Yeah, that future sounds pretty bad, but... If it's like that, why flip out over killing one man?

"... He, whoever he was, was the first actual human I've killed..." ...Inigo seems queasy and somewhat upset... "Everything else was a zombie or some sort of monster..."

...Inigo just seems to still be sulking.

"Besides! You saved someone else's life immediately, and whoever else he could have robbed or killed!"

....You managed to get him to look up at you.

"I mean, we saved her-" You point down the road, at the slow moving cart- "life, and livelihood!"

"And that's not accounting for anyone he'd steal from in the future." You continue. You can see the gears turning in his head... "Or kill..."

Inigo sighs, and stands up.

"I... See what you're saying, but it still doesn't sit right with me... " He pauses for a moment, before returning to his less depressed voice. "Ah, well. There's a lovely lady in need of our aid. Let's be off!"

"So... What did you mean by that 'Probably' about me and the future?" You ask, getting shushed quickly by Inigo.

"Quiet on the future part. It... Isn't something that should be spread around so much..." He says, shaking his head. "As for why, well, your robes. They're... Somewhat common where I came from, and I recognized that axe design as well. You're either from the same place as me, or a very similar one."

You nod at that. So your robes and axe are familiar...?

"Alright, so I guess me knowing you is out of the question, then?"

"Alas, so it would seem- I would most certainly recall such a striking flower as yourself." He nods, before smiling widely at you.

"Ah, great. I had been hoping that if you knew me, something might help jog my memory..." You sigh, rubbing your head.

"Maybe we could get some tea, and chat a bit at the next town, then?" Inigo's smile turns hopeful. "I hear that scents serve as a wonderful way to jog memory, and tea most certainly has a wonderful aroma."

You ignore him, thinking for a bit.

"Well... Maybe you could tell me about your family and friends, then? Maybe I knew one of them?" You ask, watching as he sighs, but nods.

"Well, settle in... I'll give you the basics of them... " He says, adjusting his sitting position. "First, there's..."

Also, have you done any other alterations to classes and stuff beyond giving axes to Morgan's tactician?

I'm also doing tweaks and similar- "Reclassing" is more like "Sinking time/effort into training a different skill".

Which leads to stuff like [REDACTED] having Tomes at E, despite being a VERY melee sword class.

For example, if you want to go thief, just shift your focus to lockpicking, speed, and the like.

Will all the kids be the starting classes they have in-game?

Also, could you tell us the parents of the child characters? Or would that be spoiling the next thread?
>>
>>31757507
Yep.

And I won't say names for most, but... They're solid.

Lucy, Inigo, and Morgan, you know already, or should.

Owain's got more magic (and crazy) than he knows what to do with, and Nah's getting more stats than you, flat out.
>>
>>31757606
Wait, did you just make the kids the results of optimised eugenics?
>>
>>31757650
...Semi-optimized.

Robin passed [Tactical Knowledge] to Morgan.
>>
>>31757606

Will we see Lucy again in the future or is she gone for good?
>>
>>31757806
I hope so

I mean, he walked away before she actually died, someone coulda come by and helped her, like Lyn.

OP, are we going to see DLC characters like Mar-mar?
>>
>>31757806
No comment.

>>31757926
Einherjar are half-being considered. Not likely, though.
>>
>>31757606
Laying assumptions now

Owain-Henry

Nah-Kellam

Cynthia-someone other than someone who can be her father in-game. Because fuck Sumia's pickiness
>>
>>31757940
ok ok, but are we going to be playing matchmaker with the future children?
>>
>>31757944
Wrong on the second count. MORE stats than you.

>>31757975
If you want, yeah.
>>
>>31758007
Err... Nah... Donnel?

There's no-one in the first generation with better stats than the MU outside of Nowi and Panne. The only thing I can think of is either Nah is our sister, or you're talkng about aptitude-influence.
>>
>>31758045
The latter. Getting, not "has", after all.
>>
>>31758007
Err, does that mean he was right on the third account?
>>
>>31758290
No comment.
>>
>>31758354
Because I hope so.

Sumia has the worst choices. She can either go with chrom and waste passing down rightful king, nullify all her best stats and add to her worst ones to make a child who's completely bland and useless, steal one of the best characters in the game and make him waste his best qualities, or marry Henry or the MU, and since Henry appears to be marrying Lissa and the MU seems to have married Tiki, I can only hope Cynthia has an impossible father
>>
>>31758441
...Having thought about it, yeah, Sumia married someone impossible. Not saying who, though.
>>
>>31759297
Please say it's Walhart
>>
>>31759581
I dont think that would make any kind of sense
>>
>>31759601
It doesn't need to. It just needs to happen.
