You are the PRODUCER, a former soldier hired to manage a group of teenage girls on their rise to stardom, assuming they don't get killed in the process!

Yesterday, you spent a full day treating your idols to a little mini-vacation, taking them out to the Delta City Amusement Park for a bit of rest and relaxation. You have to say, though, it seemed like a pretty huge success.

>Cole gains +1 Morale!
>Rochelle gains +1 Morale!

However, it was a new day, and it meant going back to work. You prepare for another full day of BUSINESS.

Melissa while a potential candidate has issues.

I think your thinking too much on this, It's a simple hostage exchange, let's not make so big a deal and just do this honorably

I doubt there's going to be trouble but it's always nice to have something there to confirm why you don't want to start any in the first place.

Julie has a cop disposition and is a defender so she is a good choice.

I do agree on cole since she is used to fighting alone, and julie being gunho though, but mellisa seems like a good second leader to mefor the tomb group.

Julie's basically the LAPD version of Justice, I wouldn't trust her around a sensitive hostage situation.

I would just bring Rochelle and Jenner

We settled that remember, we basically told her that we will support her in her revenge, but to look for something to do after her revenge and hopefully that something is clover.
Also her revenge would only get in the way for when that monster assault group comes up and that thing ever coming up is a bad sign anyway, other than being far down the line.
>>
>>31742322
Some mercs that went through the tombs, if I recall right.
>>
>>31742322
Not yet but we will eventually, and I rather not put her in charge of a group until she shows signs of putting her team first
>>

"Yeah, you think you can call down Rochelle and Julie? That should all I need."

"Got it. I'll have them escort the prisoners down to the garage." Jenner nods.

After a quick message to Mr. Smith that you'll be enacting the exchange at a nearby park, you head down to the garage. You barely take a few steps when you're pinged with a reply, confirming the location and time. Very punctual fellow.

By the time you get down to the garage, you see Rochelle and Julie already geared up and waiting for you. Rochelle stands at attention while Julie tries to stifle a yawn.

"Good to see you girls ready at such an early hour." You grin. "This is only going to be a simple hostage exchange, so don't expect any fighting. We just want to make sure the other side doesn't try anything."

"Got it, sir." Rochelle nods.

"I guess it makes sense." Julie adds in.

"Where are the prisoners?" You ask.

"We already put them in the car. K-Zwolf is keeping an eye on them." Rochelle points her thumb back at the SUV.

"Good. Let's load up and go."

You take the driver seat while Rochelle rides shotgun. Julie takes a seat in the back next to the prisoners. However, as you drive, you notice Lila and Melinda giving nervous looks at both your idols. More specifically, their guns.

"Ah, well..." Lila chuckles nervously. "I did it for the money, you know? Living costs are pretty high in the inner districts, so if you don't have a marketable skill, you're in for a tough time."

"I was thinking about joining a PMC." Melinda says simply. "I heard doing a stint as a combat idol looks good on your resume."

"Ah, I see." You nod. You guess those were pretty understandable motivations, even if it was for a potentially dangerous line of work.

"A-anyways, thank you for treating us so well!" Lila bows in her seat. "I-I honestly didn't know what to expect from the enemy!"

"We're rivals, not enemies." You chuckle. "You should learn the difference."

"S-sorry!"

With that, you finally reach the park and stop by the street. Just ahead of you, you seem black SUV similar to yours parked a few dozen meters ahead of you.

"I see you're here." You hear Mr. Smith's voice buzz. "Excellent. Send the two hostages out to the black SUV in front of you and our business will be concluded."

"All right, you two, this is where we part ways." You say, disengaging the door locks. "Just step out and head over to the black SUV in front of us and this whole thing will be done with.

"U-um, thank you!" Lila bows her head to you again before she opens the door and slides out of the SUV, with Melinda following close behind. They close the door behind them and head over the SUV in front of you, where the rear passenger door opens. They both enter the vehicle and the SUV pulls away from the sidewalk.

"That concludes our business." Mr. Smith says. "We thank you for handling the matter peacefully and cordially. Have a nice day, Producer."

And then the line cuts dead.

"So, why did we have to bother with all of that?" Julie yawns. "We didn't even beat anybody up."

"Because, Julie." Rochelle sighs. "In the event any of us get captured by a rival company, we'll be known for treating prisoners well, which gives them incentive to treat US well. It's all about reciprocal treatment."

"I guess that makes sense." Julie shrugs. "Still, kind of a boring end."

"I'd rather have a boring end than a bullet riddled one." You remark. "Anyways, we're done here."

As you gun the engine, you're already wondering what to do next on your agenda.

"I think that word can be accurately used to describe all of us." You say in a deadpan manner.

"You have a point, there."

"Well, let's see him then."

Jenner nods and leads you to the conference room, except you don't see anybody inside.

"Jenner, there's nobody here."

"No, but he's listening in." She says, pointing to the comm device sitting in the middle of the table."

"Yo!" It buzzes.

Wonderful. It was going to be one of these kinds of working relationships.

"I'm assuming you have some very good reasons not to show up in person." You sigh.

"Well, I'm not exactly a very good people person, you know? Plus, let's just say that if I ever step foot in the States again, I uh, might trip a few certain flags that would be a great personal concern to me. Name's Bain, by the way."

Yep, he was one of THOSE accountants. Jenner certainly knew how to recruit. You shoot her a look.

"Met him during my stint in Mexico. He's very knowledgeable." She whispers.

"I'm sure." You whisper back before turning back to the comm. "Okay, Bain, what exactly can you bring to Clover Entertainment, then?"

"Uh huh." You nod. "I'm sure you can do more than that."

"Well, if you ever come across some funds that were, erm, 'less than legally acquired', I can arrange things so that using that money won't cause you any problems."

"So, money laundering, basically."

"Whoa! I never said that! Money laundering is a HIGHLY ILLEGAL CRIME that I would never be caught doing!" Bain declares.

Sweet, we get to rob fucking banks? Awesome!

I'm not sure if robbing bankers is considered doing justice

Rochelle morale is also based on her sense of morals and if she questions what she is doing, it might backlash
>>
>>31743725
I am thinking more aligned with "The Punisher" 'Kill drug dealers and take their money' situations than knocking off banks.
>>
>>31743725
Jullie cares about the citizens/weak and not the law so hitting up banks will work for her, we might need to show the seedy back side of the banks though.

"Well, I have a few more concerns." You say. "Will your... 'legal status' affect our company in any way?"

"Aw, no, if I do my job right, and I always do, nobody would even realize I'm involved!" Bain laughs. "And don't worry, on the tax side of things, everything I do is by the book. The real crooks in this whole deal are the Corps!"

"Uh huh, and why are you even wanted in the first place?"

"Ah, well, when help 'handle' money that was 'obtained' from a few too many megacorps, you attract attention." Bain chuckles. "That's why I'm sticking with some small jobs for now, waiting for the heat to die down."

"I see." You nod. "Well, in any case, I don't see why you won't be an asset to the company. Welcome aboard."

"It's a pleasure! I promise I won't let you down!"

With that the line cuts out.

"Interesting guy." You mumble. "How did you meet him?"

"He used to handle money for one of the cartels. However, I guess they thought he was a loose end, because he came to us for protection in return for turning evidence against them. He's very good at what he does, and he owed me one."

"I see." You nod. "You know some very interesting people."

"As if you don't.' Jenner rolls her eyes.

"True." You laugh. Sort of made you wonder what your old squaddies were up to now.

"Well, let's go meet our new idol." You say. "She's a sniper, right?"

"Of course. It's what you requested." Jenner nods. "Here's her file."

You take a quick look at it. Morgan Kalugina, Russian born, but a naturalized US citizen. According to available records, her lineage could be traced back to the Soviet snipers of WWII, and it looked like her family kept the tradition strong. Quite a number of her relatives have ended up as professional hunters, competition shooters, or snipers for police and military units. Her own marksmanship scores seemed to be rather impressive.

"Well, she certainly looks qualified." You note. "Any reason why she'd want to join an idol company, of all things?"

"I suppose that would be something you'd have to ask her yourself." Jenner shrugs.

"Okay, show her in." You nod.

"This is Jenner. You can come in now." Jenner says though the intercom.

The door slowly swings open and you see a girl, or what you assume is a girl, slowly and shyly walk in. She had her hair cut very short, which gave her a very androgynous appearance.

"Morgan Kalugina." You say as a statement, not a question. "Do you know where you are?"

"D-da, -I mean- Yes I do, sir." She says, standing stiff as a board. Her demeanor and deference to your authority actually reminded you lot of Rochelle. You also notice the slight Russian accent that she tried to, but couldn't quite fully, hide. "I'm here to apply for a position in Clover Entertainment."

"I see." You say, thumbing through her file again. "You come from a very prestigious family, Morgan. Why do you want to join a small idol company like ours?"

"Ah.... that is a bit of a personal question..." Morgan bites her lip.

"Yeah, it's all in the family. All very impressive."

"Yes, well, did you notice something else?"

"Huh..." You scan the file again, and then it hits you. All of the accomplished members of her family were men. "It has something to do with you being a girl?"

"Everything, really." Morgan sighs. "In my family, only the men are allowed to take up a rifle. That is why I'm here. To escape the stigma of my family."

That...was some pretty heavy baggage to be carrying. However, you've heard worse.

"How about all these marksmanship records?" You ask.

"When he saw my skill, Father tried to pass me off as a boy." Morgan smiled sadly and stroked her hair a bit. "Some habits sort of stuck."

"Will your family pose any problems for us in the future?" You ask.

"Oh no, they have no interest in America." Morgan shakes her head. "You will have nothing to worry about from them."

"Don't worry. We can always get you a new one." You say. so how about it?"

"Okay." Morgan nods, a determined look on her face.

You lead her down to the small firing range you have arranged in the basement near the workshop. While it wasn't suited for testing the extreme ranges snipers often dealt with, you could at least gauge Morgan's general marksmanship.

You see Morgan carrying a gun case, which she pops open, and inside ,you see an absolutely ancient Mosin Nagant bolt action rifle. However, despite its age, you can tell it was lovingly cared for. It still looked as if had come straight off the factory line.

"That's a very nice rifle." You nod appreciatively.

"Thank you. We consider our weapons just as much as part of the family as any flesh and blood." Morgan gives a genuine smile. "This one here has been with us the longest. I was very honored when Father gifted it to me."

"Well, let's see how the both of you can shoot, then." You point to the target down the range.

Morgan nods and sets her rifle down on the firing table. after checking to see if there were any faults with the mechanisms, she loads a fresh clip of bullets and pushes in the bolt with a loud CLICK. She takes a few seconds to settle her aim before pulling the trigger.

There's a loud and hearty BANG as the Mosin fires. It felt different from the guns you used to fire, as if something had been lost in the centuries that firearms had been further refined. Morgan works the bolt in one smooth, trained motion and fires again and repeats the process until she's finally exhausted all of her ammunition. You then retrieve the paper target and whistle. All of her shots were in the center, with a tight 1 inch grouping. You've seen auged individuals who couldn't quite match that sort of accuracy.

"That's pretty impressive." You say.

"Thank you, sir."

Uh? That's the whole point of testing her. To find out how she handles them, and schedule her for training if necessary.

If her Nagant is lost, stolen, damaged or ineffective against other targets, or a specialised rifle is necessary for other reasons, she needs to be capable of wielding more modern weaponry. We don't want her to be rendered useless because she's tied to using that one particular rifle.

"All right, let's see how you handle something a little more modern." You say, bringing out the M55. "It might need a bit of adjusting, though."

"I can manage." Morgan says. "Hm, American-made, but it will do."

"You know how to handle modern weapons, right?"

"Of course." Morgan nods. "I can't completely rely on our prized Mosin Nagant. While an excellent show and competition piece, she's not exactly suited for actual battle."

Morgan then loads a fresh mag into the M55. She then switches it to semi-automatic fire mode and pops off a few test shots to get her bearings in. Again, she fires several rounds before emptying the magazine. You retrieve the target and see that the grouping is slightly tighter now.

"Well, one of the advantages to a semi-automatic is that I don't have to readjust my aim after every shot." Morgan shrugs. "Though I'd much rather prefer a more traditional rifle."

"Well, I think we can manage something." You say.

It's a bolt action WW2 Era Sniper Rifle. A Nugget.

>Bolt Action
Much slower rate of fire compared to a semi-automatic rifle.

>Stripper Clip Fed
It does not take magazines, but use a stripper clip or individually loading each bullet. Which is slow.

>Role
The Nagant is a true blue sniper rifle, but I'n all honesty our missions will be taking place in areas where range will most likely not need a long range sniper, which is why many of us planned on making her a DM.

>Parts
Again it being an old rifle, finding parts might make it difficult if it needs to be fixed. And some more modern attachments and modification might not be compatible with her Nugget.

There is a lot more reasons. But this are just the jist of it.

>>31746366

For a standard rifle man, for them to perform the bare minimum that their role requires, they need at least 5 clips, and that is just cutting it close. Plus their regular gear.

And I say rifle man, because before anyone is anything, be it sniper, DM, squad leader, CQC expert, engineer, radioman, pilot, or anyhting. They must be able the perform the most basic role of any squad the rifle man. You are a solider who can shoot a rifle straight first and everything else second.

But I digress, she carries the same amount of gear as everyone else, unless situation states other wise. It's tough but she has to do it.

The "designated marksman" is a rather newly created term in the USMC and they aren't snipers. Differences among them: 1. Snipers work with another person ("shooter" and "spotter") while the designated marksman (hereinafter referred to as: DM) is a member of a bigger unit (usually a fireteam or squad). 2. Snipers use a purpose built weapon with match ammunition while DMs use an optically enhanced, general purpose weapon. 3. Snipers can engage targets from medium to high (+1000 m) distances while the DMs are able to provide precision and effective fire at short and medium distances.

We just need to find a big enough score so every involved gets a big, fat, juicy cut. Knock over a bank and we could do that--and I mean a big bank, the ones that are in Downtown Delta City that have day traders and business execs moving through their doors day in and day out.

Of course, we can't go after the big guys immediately. We should start out small--say, a jewelry store? An armored car? We have enough equipment on our hands that we could pull off a Blitz Play.

"Thank you for your purchases! I hope you do business with us again!" Marc says happily. "Your purchases will be shipped right away!"

"Thanks." You say as you hang up. "So Morgan, which weapon will you use as your primary?"

"I can carry both." Morgan shrugs.

"What?" You blink.?

"I am Russian, Producer. Carrying two weapons is considered a normal practice for us." Morgan tilts her head. "Unless you're implying I can't handle something so trivial?"

"Um, not at all." You sigh. "It's just a bit, unusual."

>Morgan will start missions with the M70 as default, with the Teleconference carried in her pack in a disassembled state. At any point, Morgan can opt to assemble the Teleconference to use.
>On the other hand, Morgan may start a mission with the Teleconference assembled if the situation calls for it.

"How about we go meet the other girls, then?" You ask.

You lead Morgan back up the stairs to the dorms. At this point, everybody is awake and prepping for practice.

"Everybody." You announce. "We have a new idol joining us. This here is Morgan, who will be acting as our team's sniper and designated markswoman."

You notice Morgan instantly attracting the attention of all the girls, and not in the normal way.

You see them all staring at Morgan in awe, and some of them, like Rochelle, are even visibly blushing.

"Oh my god, she looks so cool!" Rochelle gushes.

"She certainly does seem to have a royal quality about her."

"She looks like a dude." Cole frowns.

"As if you're any better!" Julie grins, elbowing her fellow idol lightly.

"WHAT'S THAT SUPPOSED TO MEAN!?"

"Ah, um, it's nice to meet you all, Comrades!" Morgan bows politely ."I hope to work well together with all of you!"

It's then that you notice Melissa pause, and she gets that thousand yard stare you've seen too many times in your experience.

The Ocean's films were a bit ridiculous, but amusing as far as heist films go. The Usual Suspects and The Town, though, were just splendid. Heat was immediately the first one to spring to mind, though, because it featured three heists--the opening one that served as the blueprint for GTA V's Blitz Play heist, the second one that was aborted, and the quintessential "Big One" final heist that is loved on /k/ for or so many reasons.

Knowing trouble brewing when you see it, you quickly and quietly sweep Melissa aside. Thankfully, the rest of the girls are fully occupied with Morgan, gushing over her dashingly boyish good looks, or something like that. You could never understand the tastes of teenage girls that well.

"Melissa, are you all right?" You ask.

"Y-yeah. I just sorta froze up there." She takes a few deep breaths. "Sorry about that, Producer."

"What caused it?" You ask, though you already suspect you know the answer.

"I guess it was the accent. It just... stuck in my mind." Melissa sighs.

"Is this going to be problem, Melissa?" You ask sternly. "If you can't work together with Morgan..."

"It won't be a problem, Producer. I promise." Melissa says. "I was just caught of guard, that's all. If I can't get over something like this how am I supposed to get revenge?"

"As long as you know what's at stake." You sigh.

You and Melissa rejoin the rest the group, who all seem to be taking pictures with Morgan.

"All right, girls." You clap to grab their attention. "Practice should be coming up soon. Rochelle, Rin, I expect the both of you introduce Morgan to the basics and show her the daily routine."

"Yes sir!" Rochelle salutes.

"No problem, Producer." Rin smiles.

With that, you review what else you need to take care of.

Well, you might as well go see your new driver. You give a call to Jenner to have him meet you in the conference room. You head down there yourself to see a helmeted man sitting there quietly.

"Jesus, Stig, is that you!?" You blink.

"Hey, Cap, nice to see you alive and kicking." Stig's synthesized voice tries to emulate surprise. "Didn't expect you to be in the idol business, though."

"Same goes for me. What the hell are you doing here?"

"Well, you know the drill. Military vets still need work, after all."

Stig was... well... you actually didn't remember his actual name anymore. He was your squad's driver, who ended up specializing in being able to drive or pilot anything that moved, be it simple cars, tanks, or even VTOLs or fighter planes. There simply wasn't anything he couldn't operate. You suspect it had something to do the heavy aug work done to his head, which led to the necessity of having it permanently shrouded behind a helmet. According to him, of course.

"Yeah well, if you need a job, Stig, you got it." You shake his hand. "And it isn't Cap anymore. I'm a Producer now."

"Sure thing, Producer." Stig nods. "If you don't mind, I'm uh, gonna go 'familiarize' myself with that SUV of yours, if you don't mind."

"Go for it. Just don't cause too much damage." You chuckle.

With a wave, Stig walks out of the room.

You check online for Zenith Entertainment and are almost bombarded by information.

Apparently, Zenith specialized in cornering the market on "Magical Girls". Basically girls granted magical powers to fight supernatural forces. It seemed to be all the rage these days. However, most of their operations usually centered on TV programs, the occasional movie, and live performances. They actually did not do quite that much singing and dancing. You also see a note from Himawari saying that she found a backdoor into their secure server and managed to pull some data from it.

First was a profile of their producer, Julian Hillman. Apparently he started off as a Blackwater contractor before being bumped up to human resources director. After that he was hired to be a producer for Zenith Entertainment, which was being backed by Shaw-Fujikawa, a Japanese tech firm.

There was also a roster for their mainline idols. Apparently they were all combat idols, which made sense, considering that fighting was a part of being a Magical Girl.

>Kaleidoscope - Sniper
>Heartlancer - Close Combat
>Shadowblade - Tech Support
>Monarch - Medic
>Icicle - Close Combat
>Yamato Cannon - Ranged Fighter
>Flamestorm - Ranged Fighter
>CLASSIFIED - DATA UNAVAILABLE

There were also several other support and tertiary idols, but they weren't listed. However, that last name left you curious as to who it might be.

If we were hacking them to do substantial damage, I think that would be antagonizing them. Otherwise, they'll just think it's just business and mutually beneficial relationships are still possible.

That has "hijacking" written all over it.

My vote is for the Monopoly and Airplane Antics jobs, but come prepared for some "antics" on the latter.

Rin and Niko can't fight either, it's a waste to have them be booth babes when they are perfectly capable performers

Nico and Rin

This one is obvious, we let Jenner look after them too.

Our /k/ Idols would be best on this one.

Julie, K-ZWolf, Cole, Melissa

With the team getting large, we need to look for a second field commander and either Julie or Melissa would be a good pick. This might be a good warmup mission.
>>
>>31750405
Look at the pay, its the highest paying,
>>
>>31750277

>>31750414

Sounds good to me
>>
>>31750414
Switch Rin and Cole. We should have one guard for performance idols during jobs.
>>
>>31750445
Sure, sounds like a plan.
>>
>>31750433

Park Plane is 3k, Airplane Antics is 2k. We would want Park Plane over Airplane Antics is cash money is our primary consideration
>>
>>31750414
>>31750422
You know sending our centers out without any bodyguards, outside of Jen, is going to bite us in the ass hard one of these times...

>>31750414
This.

but also
>>31750445
>>
>>31750445

Or go with >>31750422

Jenners is perfectly capable of doing bodyguard service and she still has her car.
>>
>>31750445

Cole won't do well with kids and tourist though.
>>
>>31750445

Shouldn't we switch Cole and Niko?

Rin's a more capable performer than Niko at this point.
>>
>>31750475
Thing is... She really shouldn't have to be doubling up on bodyguard detail when we have combat idols to be doing it.
>>
>>31750422
Too spread out. We don't need AIRPLANE ANTICS. Focus on PARK PERFORMANCE and MONOPOLY.
>>
>>31750475
The other reason why Niko and Cole should be paired together is that the two have similar demographics and Niko gets an Attention Seeker bonus when she's the star.

>>31750494
>>31750498
Rin might be the better choice for Park Preformance. All I'm saying is that Niko and Cole should be paired up. Let them be boothbabes, then.
>>
>>31750422
this one

coles better used on the combat mission
>>
>>31750277
Okay, so the consensus seems to be Park Performance, Airplane Antics, and Monopoly. Is that correct?
>>
>>31750516
I want to drop Airplane Antics, but I'm guessing I'm being outvoted here.

Monopoly

Would be the only ones I would support.
>>
>>31750503

She helps ferry the idols around already.

And Producers or Staff can defend their idols if shit happens in front of them.

>>31750516

Yup.
>>
>>31750514
>All I'm saying is that Niko and Cole should be paired up. Let them be boothbabes, then.

You know. With the shit that boothbabes get subjected to sometimes, thats basically asking for a PR disaster when Cole zaps someone whos abit grabby.
>>
>>31750568
You could say the same thing about Niko.
>>
>>31750568
happens when we get tomb girls.
>>
>>31750507
I agree. We might have caught our rivals unaware by hitting all the missions last time so we should try a more consolidarted approach.

Shes at least not going to electrocute someone. More likely she'll curse or kick the fella into oblivion.
>>
>>31750516
yeah why not.
>>
>>31750568
>>31750580

Zapping people who gets grabby would add to Cole and Niko's appeal.

They are not selling squeaky clean like Rin, they are supposed to be badass. Molesters aren't exactly the most sympathetic victims either

This would be a good thing in the long run
>>
>>31750580

Thats kind of why I want Niko on the Park performance.

Rochelle and Morgan would probably be good at weaving out of any bad PR moves.
>>
>>31750609
Same level of PR damage.

>>31750625
This. They're supposed to be "bad girls." Tough. Rough and tumble.

And as for Cole in the park, you never know how she might use her powers to impress the kids. Little stuff, just some static. Might get us on the path to using her for light shows.
>>
>>31750631

Rochelle and Morgan might be a terrible fit for this job.

Morgan is new to the job, and getting manhandled on her first job isn't going to leave a good impression.

Besides, the proper way to handle molesters is to beat their ass and get applauded for it. Cole and Niko can pull that badass routine off. So can Cole and Julie.

Rochelle and Morgan? I have my doubts
>>
>>31750689
Rochelle is our squad leader. We need her on the Monopoly mission. And Morgan should probably be there as well for DM work.

With your next set of jobs all picked out, you sigh and lean back in your seat. You glance out the window and see that the sun is already going down. Goddamn, has that much time passed already?

Yawning, you decide to clock out for the day. You'll worry about training tomorrow.

Curious as to what Alice will wake up to on Sunday.
>>

we only have one squad leader right now.

we're going to run into mission runs where we need to do multiple combat missions.

training up a second squad leader would be a good idea.

carol gnawing on her arm.
>>
>>31750734
After the prison incident, I think it's important to impress on Rochelle that we meant what we said to her.
Trust her to lead the squad. I'd consider Julie for second in command, but I don't think she's there yet leadership wise. Maybe we'll do some training involving both Rochelle and Julie along those lines.
>>
>>31750766
alright, fair enough.

i was thinking this was a good low risk mission for our new potential squad lead (i was thinking melissa actually. shes far back enough to have a good idea of the battle and then she can apply her machine gun at where its needed the most) to get broken in.
