The Sith Empire is in deep trouble. Over 1,300 years after nearly being wiped out by the Republic and Jedi in the Great Hyperspace War, the Empire faces the threat of annihilation once again. The war with the Galactic Republic has proven costly. The Sith Emperor and most of his Dark Council have been slain, by the Republic or by each other. The battle of Corellia saw ten percent of the entire Imperial military wiped out, and the battle of Ilum saw the Empire fracture due to the betrayal of Darth Malgus. Even the Sith holy world of Korriban has not remained unscathed. A daring attack by the Republic saw a Dark Council member slain, and the Sith Academy lost. Though the Empire managed to reclaim their academy, the blow was still heavy. The Sith Order's numbers have decreased alarmingly, and the Imperial Military struggled to hold out against a force far larger than their own. Now, a new group of Acolytes travel to Korriban to train at the Sith Academy. This generation of potential Sith may be the only hope for the Empire

>Welcome to Sith Quest

Here is the basic layout. Decisions will be made by voting on various options. Whichever option has the most votes after ten minutes is the winner. All votes are final, so choose wisely. Also, you can add some dialogue to your vote, if you wish. During combat, if you want to say something, just type what you want to say with your vote. During conversations, if multiple people supply different dialogue, I will combine as many as I can so long as they do not contradict one another, in order to avoid a conversation taking several hours.

>Important

The combat system will be dice based and use a d100 system. In order to succeed in those options, one out of the first three rolls must be equal to or greater than the specified number. However, if a number of 4 or lower is rolled in the first three, then whatever you were attempting will go very badly. On the other hand, if a number of 96 or higher is rolled in the first five, then whatever you are attempting will go very well unless a roll of 4 or below occurred in the first three.

>THIS IS A CHALLENGING QUEST, AND BAD DECISIONS WILL GET YOU KILLED.

The first vote, you will have twenty minutes for.

In the darkness, you hear the breathing of the other passengers on your shuttle. You can feel their emotions rolling off of them in waves. Some radiate fear and anxiety, while in others you sense confidence, determination, hatred, and the like.

It's pitch black all around you. For some reason they've been keeping the area you and the other acolytes have been staying in that way. Most likely, it's to make it harder for you all to kill one another before you even reach Korriban.

The shuttle rumbles as it touches down. With a hiss, the entryway opens and light pours in, giving you your first good look at the other acolytes.

Two of them are human, a brown haired male, and a blonde haired female. The way they fidget and glance around nervously makes it appear that they won't be much of a threat. Looking around at the other acolytes, you spot a green skinned Twi'lek female, a Rattataki male, a massive Kaleesh male and equally large Zabrak male.

Normally, the group of potential Sith would not include so many aliens. But, with the current state of the empire, the Sith have grown desperate to replenish their numbers, and so alien Sith have become more common.

Standing just inside the building on the other side of your landing pad, you spot a tall, black haired human male in red armor. He must be the overseer.

You're in no real hurry, and none of the other acolytes seem inclined to rush either. You all slowly and calmly exit the shuttle and start towards the building. You notice the humans hanging towards the back of the group, and can practically taste their fear. The Zabrak and Kaleesh seem to size each other up as they walk, while the Rattataki eyes everyone like a predator about to make its kill. The Twi'lek doesn't seem to be paying much attention to the others, and simply moves with an air of confidence.

You hear the shuttle take off as you and the other acolytes enter the building. You gather around the overseer, who takes a moment to get a good look at each of you before speaking.

"Greetings, Acolytes," he begins. "Welcome to Korriban. I am Overseer Damul. It is my duty to oversee your trials, and find the one among you who will become Sith. I hope you all appreciate exactly where you stand. This world, is the birthplace of the Sith Order. But, beyond that, you stand on the path to unlimited power. If you follow it, and do not falter, you may become one of the most powerful beings in the galaxy. However, the Sith Order does not approve of half measures. On Korriban, you will either excel, or be crushed by those who do. I hope you are prepared."

"I'm ready," the Twi'lek assures him. "Where do we begin?"

"Your first trial will be a simple one," Overseer Damul tells you. "Beyond this building is the Valley of the Dark Lords, the resting place of some of the mightiest Sith who have ever lived. The Tomb of Ajunta Pal, the first Dark Lord, stands between us and the Academy. All you must do is travel through the tomb and meet me in the Academy. Now, are there any questions?"

The Zabrak, Kaleesh, and Rattataki all pass the overseer without a word, heading for the valley.

You're ready to face this trial, and have no fear of whatever may be lurking within the tomb. With that in mind, you follow the three Acolytes past the Overseer, and find yourself at the top of a large ramp leading down into the blood red sand of the Valley of The Dark Lords.

Not far ahead, you see a massive structure, made of stone and clearly ancient. This must be the Tomb of Ajunta Pall. The other three immediately rush down the ramps, and you soon get your first look at one of the dangers of Korriban.

Nearly a dozen creatures emerge from beneath the sand. Each of them have large, wormlike bodies carried by many legs. At their top is a massive maw of razor-sharp teeth. Two claws are positioned just below the heads.

Three of the creatures move in towards the Rattataki, who charges them head on, swinging his training saber wildly as he reaches his foes. His reckless approach leaves him with a few cuts on his arms, and a deep gash in his chest. But, he ultimately emerges victorious.

Four move in towards the Kaleesh, who uses the force to throw two of them backwards before drawing his weapon and preparing for the other two. He swings hard with his weapon in his right hand, cutting deep into the neck of one of the creatures, while his left hand curls into a fist that slams into the side of the other's head, causing it to stumble back a few steps as he delivers anther strike that kills the first creature. He turns on the disoriented one, then, and soon slays it as well. As the other two head for him, you feel confident he'll survive.

Four rush towards the Zabrak, who calmly extends his left hand. Lighting erupts from his fingertips, striking one of the creatures and sending it screaming in retreat as its body is scorched. As the other three reach him, he slices one of the claws off the nearest one, and wields it in his left hand while he wields his saber in his right. With these two weapons, he mak-

-es short work of his foes, hacking and slashing them while avoiding their panicked attempts to attack him. The creatures soon lie dead around him. Not bothering to look at how the others are doing, he rushes towards the entrance to the tomb. You see no more signs of the Rattataki, and assume he has already gone in.

The Kaleesh, however, looks all around himself, and after a few moments, you see what he was looking for.

Another pair of the creatures are wandering not far from him, and he slowly approaches them, gripping the hilt of his weapon firmly.

Perhaps it would be a good idea to find some of the creatures to fight yourself. After all, there could be more in the tombs.

You see no point in battling the creatures out here in the valley. You let the other Kaleesh play with the worms while you cross the sands and enter the tomb.

As you step inside, you notice a change. Ever since you arrived on Korriban, you could feel the lurking presence of the Dark Side. In the tomb, that presence feels stronger. But, it still much fainter than you might have expected. After all, shouldn't the tomb of the very first Dark Lord been a nexus of dark energy? Oh well.

You stand at the top of a large staircase stretching downard. You can hear the shrieks of more of those creatures down below. Apparently, the Rattataki or Zabrak ran into them. With nowhere else to go but outside the tomb, you descend the stairs and find yourself in a large chamber.

Blood stains the walls, rubble and broken objects litter the floor, as do some fresh corpses of the wormlike creatures. Large objects that look like eggs sit against the walls, most of them cracked or broken open. To your left, the stretches on. To your right, you see another staircase leading downwards. You spot the Zabrak taking the left way. You could trail behind and let him handle the dangers of the tomb. Or, you could head right and see where the stairs leave. Then again, you could hide, and ambush the other Acolytes when they arrive.

This is a wonderful opportunity to eliminate some of your competition, and you intend to seize that opportunity. It won't be too surprising if an Acolyte or two dies in the tomb during this trial. After all, there are dangerous beasts lurking about.

You decide to hide and set up an ambush. To that end, you take a look around to see potential hiding spots. Sadly, they are relatively few. You see some massive statues resembling humans supporting a catwalk. You could hide behind one of them. You would probably be well hidden, but an attack from there would be fairly difficult. You could simply wait around the corner at the bottom of the stairs and attack when your foe reaches the bottom. Or, you could choose another direction and make your way through the tomb.

You take position around the corner at the bottom of the stairs. You are ready to strike at a moment's notice. However, when your intended victim arrives, you react a moment too slowly.

The Twi'lek female reaches the bottom of the stairs, and after a moment, you swing your blade as hard as you can, intending to sever her head from her body, or at least cut open her throat. That moment was all she needed to react, however, and she ducks under your attack, thrusting her left hand towards you.

You find yourself thrown onto your ass, and looking up at a very angry Twi'lek.

"The Overseer told use we should not murder other acolytes," she comments, twirling her blade in her hand. "But, I think he'll understand killing in self defense. Of course, if I make this look like an accident, I won't need an explanation."

You quickly rise to your feet and get into a defensive stance. You wait for your enemy to attack, planning to learn her fighting style and hopefully find an opening to attack.

Luckily for you, you don't have to wait long.

After attempting a few strikes, all of which you manage to block, she thrusts out her hand in an effort to push you with the force a second time. You step top her side, and her push only moves one of the nearby beast corpses. Seizing her by the wrist, you pull her in close before bashing her between the eyes with the hilt of your weapon. She releases her own weapon as she falls onto her back, and you are on her in an instant, wrapping one of your large hands around her throat and squeezing the life out of her. Soon, she is dead. You have successfully eliminated one of your rivals.

Now, the question is, what should you do now?

>A. Try and make this look like an accident

You figure it's probably a good idea to remove any suspicion that foul play was involved in the Twi'lek's death. So, you decide to make it look like an accident.

You grab her limp body and drag it over to one of the beast corpses. You then grab the claw of one of the beasts, and use it to cut a hole in her throat. Finally, you place her weapon back in her hand. Now, it will seem obvious to everyone that she died in battle with one of the creatures.

"What did you do?" a terrified voice asks behind you.

Turning, you find yourself staring at the human male. He holds his training saber in a death grip, and trembles in fear as he stares at you with wide eyes. He should be afraid. He is a witness, and you need to shut him up.

>A. Attack him and cut him up, make him look like worm food too ( 30 or higher)

You don't want any witnesses.

You slowly advance on the terrified Acolyte, rising your blade to cut him down. However, as you swing, you meet a bit of misfortune. The panicked Acolyte makes a desperate swing of his own. You, so confident in how easy your victory will be, don't have a firm grip on your weapon. So, the Acolyte's swing knocks your blade from your hand and sends it flying into the wall behind you.

The two of you stare in shock for a moment, before the Acolyte finally seems to grow a pair. He swings his blade again, cutting into your side. He doesn't hit deep enough to kill you, but it hurts like a bitch. With a strong pull, he rips his blade out of your side and prepares to attack again.

>A. Fight him with your bare hands (60 or higher)

>B. Use the force to fling him away, go for your weapon while he's incapacitated ( 50 or higher)

Before he can complete his swing, you thrust your left hand towards him.

Lightning erupts from your fingertips, and strikes him in the gut. He lets out an agonized scream as his body begins to spasm, and his weapon falls from his hand.

Entirely defenseless, he is no match for what you do next.

You grab him by his collar with your left hand, while you form your right hand into a fist and punch him in the head. You pull back your arm and punch again, and again, and again, until you hear a crack and he goes completely limp. Throwing his corpse next to the Twi'lek's, you give him the same treatment you gave her, cutting his throat with the beast's other claw, and placing his weapon in his hand before going to retrieve yours.

Deciding not to push your luck, you take the left path and leave the bodies behind.

The walk from this point on ends up being rather uneventful. It seems the two Acolytes who passed before you have cleared out the beasts. And, since you spent so much time killing those two other Acolytes, they're far enough ahead of you where you don't run into them. All in all, the rest of the hike through the tomb is boring and without peril. Soon enough, you find your way out, and at the foot of the Sith Academy.

(To be Continued)

That concludes the first edition of Sith Quest. These quests will probably be weekly thing, happening every Friday or Saturday. Follow me on twitter @starwarsfands for updates and schedule changes. Also, this thread will be on Suptg in a few minutes, if you had fun, give it an upvote.
