You are the PRODUCER, a former soldier hired to manage a group of teenage girls on their rise to stardom, assuming they don't get killed in the process!

Today is a new day, and you've already got a lot on your plate. You're pulling a triple job again, which means you need all of your idols to be on top of your game. You need to be on top of yours too, if you have any hope of managing all three jobs as well. Right now, you have all of them gathered up in the conference room as you address them.

"Okay, girls, here's what our job list looks like." You say, activating the projector.

Really? the little boy will love it, it's like those Kamen Rider/Power Ranger power ups
>>
So I've been thinking about who should be the 2nd combat idol leader, and I think it should either be Cole or Julie. Morgan is a good candidate, but lacks experience (not to mention the possible fallout of the new girl being chosen to lead experienced idols).

Julie is proactive which can be a good or bad thing. I imagine her style of leading would be akin to Patton.

We can't just say "Cole's just Cole" anymore, she has shown that she has matured a bit.
>>
>>31897187
I'll go with this.

Consensus seems to be:
>Cole and Niko on the park mission

> Rin on the Airshow

>Rochell, K-Z, Morgan on the Monopoly mission

I think Melissa is better on the Combat mission because of her augments. Especially her sensors.
As well, Julie would probably love the Airshow.
>>
Okay, so from what I'm seeing here, I see consensus for:

Park Performance: Niko, Cole
Airplane Antics: Rin, Julie
Monopoly: Rochelle, Morgan, Melissa, K-Zwolf

Is that acceptable?
>>
>>31897471

>>
>>31897560
Oh, water levels suck. Especially sewer levels.

But if she can handle leading a group of people through knee deep water and swimming a short distance, I'd say that she's earned a shot at second in command.

If she can't do that, then pat her on the head and give it to Julie. And speaking of Julie, I think she has a tendency to be distracted by civilians. I'd test her capacity for patience.
>>
>>31897471
We finally just got a full fire-team of 5. No sense in splitting them into separate elements until we get more people to even it out.

I say we have Rochelle give in her input since as the other "Combat Idol Leader" she will have to be able to co-ordinate and lead with this new "CIL" or Fire-Team Leader. And also give her more of a sense or being a leader and us valuing her input. We could also ask the other girls also their thoughts.

And we would also have to test each girl individually. Still to early to tell.

>>31897509
Fine with me.
>>
>>31897471
We haven't yet seen Morgan or Melissa is enough combat to make that call.
The only problem is that Julie and Cole are a bit headstrong to be good leaders.
And Melissa is a bit to driven by revenge, we can't guarantee she won't go AWOL yet, and if she's leader that would be disastrous.

Morgan catches me as fairly level headed, but she is still green. IF we want her to lead a fire team, she'll need to get some respect from the veterans first.

"All right, it's decided then!" You say, filling out the roster. "As I've said before, if you have a problem with the assignments, you can talk to me about it and we can try to hammer something out. Other than that, back to practice, all of you!"

With that, all of the girls start to file out of the room. However, Rochelle remains with a bit of a troubled look on her face.

"Is something the matter?" You ask.

"Ah, no, it's just well... I know you're looking for me to be a team leader, and I have obligations to the other idols to do that but...." Rochelle bites her lip. "I know it's really selfish of me, but I really do want to go to that airshow. All that miltech in one place...."

You frown. You really wanted Rochelle to lead the attack team, but then again, her appreciation for everything military could serve as an advantage in the airshow...

"Okay, I can swap your assignment with Julie. I'm pretty sure she'd be happy to crack some skulls, anyways." You nod. "But that means we'll need to find a backup team leader. Do you have anybody in mind?"

"Shouldn't you be the one to choose, sir?" Rochelle blinks.

"Yes, but I'm asking for YOUR opinion, as the team leader." You grin.

"Ah, well..." Rochelle's face reddens a bit. "If we're going by seniority, we'd be left with either Julie or Cole. Julie certainly has the fighting skill and enthusiasm, but I'm afraid she might get too aggressive with things. Cole is definitely more level headed, and a lot smarter than she gives herself credit for but... the problem with her is that she doesn't give herself enough credit."

"So in your personal opinion, who would you recommend?" You ask.

"Ah, well. if it were up to me, I'd probably suggest Cole." Rochelle says.

"Alright, thanks for input. You can go now. And please remember to inform Julie of the change, too."

"I will, sir."

"And I expect you not to get TOO distracted while at the show. You're still a bodyguard as well."

"Yes sir." Rochelle grins.

After she leaves, you sigh and look at your personnel roster again. Realistically, only Julie and Cole would be eligible candidates to be a team leader. You were going to have to make a call, here.

You finally decide on giving the responsibility to Cole. She was smart girl who had what it took to be a leader. She just didn't know it yet. You give a call to Jenner to send her to your office, where you intend to talk to her personally about your decision.

Cole, for her part, seems wary about the whole situation, as she nervously files into the room like a naughty student being sent before the principal.

"Look, if it's about who blew up one of the toilets, it totally wasn't me-"

"We're not here to talk about punishment about anything." You cut her off. "Though I am quite interested to see what you know bout that little incident. Later, perhaps."

"Um, okay." Cole gulps. "Then why am I here?"

"It's simple really, I've decided to assign you as the team leader for the attack team."

"W-what?!?!" Cole recoils in shock. "What about Rochelle? I thought that was her thing?"

"Rochelle was reassigned. Plus, we can't count on her being around all the time, so we'll need somebody who can step in the fill the void."

"But... why me?" Cole frowns.

"Because I think you have what it takes." You grin. "Cole, you're smart, and you have a good sense of things that go on around you."

"I'm not smart at all." Cole grumbles.

"Your test scores say otherwise." You chuckle. "For a girl who's never gone to school in a day her life, you're actually doing pretty well."

"W-well, what am I supposed to even DO? I mean, beating up and shocking people isn't that tough, but actually leading? I don't even know how to do that!"

"Relax. All you have to do is make sure that everybody has a job, and they finish it." You say. "I don't expect a perfect performance, but you've got a good team. They can pick up on things you might miss."

"I thought we just walk in and torch the target?" Cole shrugs.

"Oh Cole, you know it's not that simple." You shake your head. "Think long and hard. What are our options?"

"Well... we could break into the mall and trash the store, or we could hit the target's product before it actually ships." Cole says.

"Excellent work, Cole." You nod. "And what do you think we should do?"

"I think we should hit his product. The mall's a nice place. I don't really want to damage it."

"Even if it means potentially having to fight whoever has been assigned to guard that shipment? Because there definitely will be security."

"Do I have to?" She pouts.

"Yes. It's part of the job." You grin and nod. "Now all we have to do is get into the best part! PLANNING!"

"What...?"

....

After a couple more hours of brainstorm, you and Cole manage to come up with a preliminary plan of attack on the target's goods. It's nothing too difficult, but you notice that by the end of the session Cole looks absolutely frazzled.

"Are you okay there?"

"Just.... trying to wrap my head around all this." Cole sighs.

"Don't worry, you'll get used to it." You try to reassure her. "And I'll be keeping any on you, so if anything happens, you can just give me a call."

"As if I need your help." Cole grunts, reverting back to her rebellious mode.

"Just saying, it's on the table!" You laugh.

After Cole leaves you return to your work at hand. Time to do a bit of scheduling. You figure you'd have to personally attend at least one of the events. You knew that Jenner and Stig could pick up the slack in the other two locations...

Gotta make sure are new little Fire Team Leader's debut goes off without a hitch.
>>
>>31899181
>>Go to the Assault

I'm wondering if we should purchase an armour upgrade for Jenner's car.

I think she'll appreciate it and with all the driving of the idols around, it'll be very well used.
>>
>>31899181
>Go to the Assault
Jenner goes to the Park, Stigg goes to the Air show.
>>
>>31899181
>Go to the Assault
Since we gave lead to a rookie leader we better go there.
>>
>>31899092
Are you shocked that it came to this?
>>
>>31899181
Go to the Park. If we go to either the Assault or the Airshow, we may show our team leaders that we don't trust them on these missions. That we just assigned them to. After they already had a perception of a lack of said trust.
>>
>>31899213
Lets upgrade the defenses of the car going into the assault instead.
>>
>>31899181
>Go to the Park
Oh man, did the Tunnel Snakes get uniforms?
And what happened with Kaneda?
>>
>>31899181
>Go to the Park

We might have to reign in Julie and Niko.
>>
>>31899181
>Go to the Assault
>>
>>31899209
I think we already showed faith in choosing her out of the other girls to be leader. Plus we already told her that we believed in her skills and brain when she didn't have much confidence in them.

We should go to the Assault and make sure it goes good to give her that real big confidence boost, she will need to continue to succeed as a Fire Team Leader.

Plus I don't think she would and anyone would find offense in an Commanding officer/leader accompanying the first operation of a brand new Non-Com, to help, give advice, and assist.
>>
>>31899262
He's probably the most hated member because of everyone's envy. Or maybe he's now a prophet of sorts.
>>
>>31899254

One's bulletproof, ones not.

I'd think the upgrade would be best served up armouring the un-bulletproof one.

Besides, thats part of the whole reason why we're sending a combat idol with a song dance idol, so that they're not so susceptible to surprise attacks.
>>
>>31899291
Then lets get two bullet proof vehicles instead.
>>
>>31899181
>Go to the Park

If anyone needs our watch the most it'll be these two; Niko is still fairly new and Julie can be overenthusiastic. Cole needs to learn to lead without us hovering over her.
>>
>>31899181
>Go to the Assault

people this isn't about trust, this is about where people are most useful at.

that said, I would like to see Jenner at the the show and Stig at the park.
>>
>>31899307
The thing is, one wouldn't suspect a normal looking van to be bulletproof or have weapons fold out of its interior.
>>
>>31899307

Jenner's car is her own and she uses it when she drives around, even when ferrying the idols.
>>
>>31899287
I think both.

He faced the original leader in manly combat and won.

For he danced with their idol.

But if Cole's team leader who's guarding Nico?
>>
>>31899323
Other way around in my opninion, since Stiggs knows everything about vehicles, so the air show is good for him, plus Jenner needs to hold Julie back.
>>
>>31899344
I think Julie is guarding her at the moment.
>>
>>31899344

Julie
>>
>>31899336
Its seat 4 people, while the other vehicle seats 8, we are gonna be forced to upgrade cars.
Hell the van needs to take two trips to bring all the girls to the places.
>>
>>31899350
yeah, don't know why it came out like that. Thought one thing typed the other.
>>
>>31899339
Then let her keep it, and buy another one.
>>
>>31899376

And when more transport is needed we send the SUV, when less is required, we send the van?
>>
>>31899426
So lets send the girls on assault in the van?
>>
>>31899395

Buy an SUV?

For her own use?

We can spend 500 instead of 2000 and make her vehicle safe.
>>
>>31899426
Its still gonna waste time, and leave the girls in unneeded danger.
>>
>>31899439

The transport capacity needed for the Assault is already more than 4, they're going in the SUV.
>>
All these people talking of buying more transport, when we haven't asked Stig, if he hasn't already gotten his own private collection of his personal favorite vehicles already souped up and kitted, or knows if he has any contacts to get some nice as wheels permanent or temporary.
>>
>>31899452
We have the money for the SUV, hell after these 3 missions we would be upgrading our gear and maybe even getting more idols.
>>
>>31899181
>Go to the Park
Make sure that the Nico/Julie dynamic works.
>>
>>31899471

What are you talking about?

We assign vehicles to specific missions.

Missions with 5+ get the SUV, missions with fewer get the van or Jenner's car.

What do you mean waste time? The vehicles won't be jumping across missions.
>>
>>31899485
to transport the girls to thier shows will take 2 trips using the old van.
>>
Just read the pastebin, and thank god; Morgan has a useful ability. Crit on 19s (No star power)
>>
>>31899528

Yes, and?

We currently have more vehicles than a single van.
>>
>>31899489
because its his personal collection? If someone said to me "the office computers are down, bring your gaming rig to work" I'd tell them to shove so much RAM up their ass, their colon could run Crysis.
>>
>>31899522
we have 3 missions.
Air show
Rochelle+Niko+Stiggs
3 seats are filled right there
Park
Rin+Julie+Jenner
3 seats here
Assualt
Mellisa+Cole+Sniper+Robot dog+Producer
4 people
>>
>>31899529
That's good. Last quest she was in, she got a stacking +1 modifier to every shot she made to a single target without switching targets.
>>
>>31899554
Yes, and this is a weakness that leaves the girls wide open, and leaves the girls alone, not even mentioning that this will cost time for preparation.
>>
>>31899586

5 for the last one, but yes. that correct.

Everything seems to be in order, whats your point.
>>
>>31899555
Same thing with Jenner then, it's her personal vehicle but she uses it for work. If it get damaged or wrecked, I assume we will be paying for damages, or the company.

And we would do the same with the Stig's personal wheels as well. But seriously though, Stig totaling/wrecking his ride? Yeah right.
>>
>>31899618

You'll have to elaborate on why its a weakness because I don't see where you're coming from.
>>
>>31899637
I still wonder if it's possible to buy more parking spots so that we can get more vehicles to use. I do not think Merc has commented on it yet.
>>
>>31899632
the assault gets the SUV automatically, so thats out of the equation for now.
that leaves the 4 seater.
>>31899654
so either way our girls are gonna be left alone and vulnerable, and recently in the show before the prison one of our girls was targeted, and we do have some enemies so leaving 2 girls alone with out supervision, for long lengths of time.
>>31899672
We would probably either have to save for a bigger office, or be able to upgrade the building.
>>
>>31899637

Probably. I think Jenner likes using her car, thats why shes brings it about, even to the tombs.

Also, beyond damages, I'd like to see that she and her charges remain safe, hence why i'm suggest we purchase upgrades for her personal vehicle on company expense.
>>
>>31899701

What's wrong with street parking?
>>
>>31899701

But Jenners group gets her car. The other gets the van, which is already uparmoured to be bulletproof.
>>
>>31899713
2 girls will either be left alone at clover field or at one of thier shows while the car gets the last two.
>>
>>31899727
then why are people saying the Van is her car then, and are so attached to it?
>>
>>31899754

Its... two different vehicles?

No one has said the van is her car. Her car is her car. The van is company property.
>>
>>31899672
>>31899701
>>31899710
True, the only problem with my idea is the money. More expensive than if we just buy our own vehicle and upgrade it ourselves. Still I wanna see what kinda wheels Stig is rockin.
>>
>>31899181
Well, it was the big day, and you've decided to tag along with the assault team on this one. Stig was a bit miffed that he wouldn't be doing all the exciting driving, but he was easily bought off when you directed him towards the airshow. Like Rochelle, he had a special place in his heart set aside for big shiny planes with guns and missiles bolted on to them. Meanwhile, Jenner would oversee Niko and Julie over at the park.

"Okay, you girls all set back there?" You ask.

"Ready, I guess." Cole shrugs. She got to ride shotgun, due to having rank in this situation.

"Da." Morgan nods. "I mean, yes!"

"Ready as always." Melissa adds in.

"AFFIRMATIVE." K-Zwolf rumbles.

"Okay, so I'm going to go over this one more time." You say as you handle the controls of the SUV. "Our target is a trailer truck headed from a warehouse in District Seven to District Two. From the intel Marc gave us, we should expect about a half dozen private security goons guarding the shipment. They're not anything too special, though. Just run of the mill rent-a-cops."

"Yeah, I think we can handle that." Melissa grins.

"As long as no bears are involved." Morgan nods.

"Now, me and Cole have gone over three possible methods of attack. Cole? Care to share?"

(cont)
>>
>>31899713
it would leave our cars wide open to being stolen, bugged, rigged to a bomb or other wise tampered with. this IS detroit after all.
>>
>>31899771
Why are people saying its one vehicle?
>>
>>31899785
"Ah, well." Cole coughs as she is suddenly put into the spotlight. "Yeah, um, well, we sorta figured that we could hit the shipment in District Seven before it takes off, hit it while it's on transit on the freeway, or wait to ambush it in District Two."

"And the pros and cons?"

"Well, er, hitting it in District Seven means we don't have to worry about cops that much, but that would also be where they're the strongest. Hitting them on the freeway gives us the initiative, but it's pretty exposed out there. Hitting them in District Two would give us more time to set up an ambush, but that close to the city center, the cops would be on our asses in minutes."

"Sounds just about right." You smile.

"So uh, did you ever decide on which plan to take?" Cole asks.

>We'll hit them in District Seven
>We'll hit them in transit.
>We'll hit them in District Two
>What do YOU choose?
>>
>>31899808

...No one did?

All I suggested was getting an armour upgrade for Jenner's personal ride since she uses it on company work.

>>
>>31899813
>We'll hit them in transit.

Cole has done enough, we're the producer so we have to make decisions too.
>>
What loadout for K-ZWolf?

Heavy firepower? Or Close Protection since we're kinda exposed.
>>
>>31899813
>We'll hit them in transit.
Sniper takes out the Engine with our very nice rifle, when they evacuate the vehicle we can destroy the shipment through the use of explosive weapons or Cole's electricity welding them all together.
>>
>>31899813
>We'll hit them on transit

If it's out in the open then we and they don't have much cover. We can still use concealment, hide and strike where they can't see us. But they will be out in the open with their convoy, a big sitting duck.

We should get stuff to stop the convoy, fast and easy that prevents them from running. Either a blocking vehicle and a ramming one like the movie Heat. Or stingers and caltrops. Or that new shiny sniper rifle with the special ammunition.
>>
If it's Cole, Can't we have her Short Circuit the engine with her electricity?
>>
>>31899813

>>

Close protection.

>>31899911

>>
>>31899904

I'm hoping we can steal some of that stuff after we kill everyone.
>>
>>31899735
that is wrong
>>
>>31899901
Close Protection, we never used it before and between Melissa, Morgan, and Cole we have enough fire power
>>
>>31899945
Heavy fire power.

My reasoning here>>31899910
>>
>>31899910

EMP Pulse Bullets from our new sniper rifle? Or we can use cole.
>>
>>31899956
How so?
>>
>>31899949
So you're saying that this is the backup plan instead? Or that we should grab what we can and trash the rest?
>>
>>31900010

Probably kill everyone, then grab stuff if we can.

If we can't, blow it all up.
>>
So should we have killed that gang leader from last time?
>>
>>31899994
Or Cole. Yup.
>>
>>31899991
But we have a lot of firepower, I'm worried since we're so exposed we need protection
>>
>>31900032

But we did.

It's some small time gang members that survived and fled.
>>
>>31900026
No point in killing if we don't have to. We're already participating in destruction of property and forcing a monopoly. We don't have to get even more immoral.
>>
>>31900002
we have three rides and the room to have all the girls in them at once
>>
>>31900032
Honestly no, and the logic behind saying yes was stupid especially when we missed out on the bonus.
>>31900047
It was a high ranking member and the cops got a bit pissy about us killing him.
>>
>>31899911
>>31899945

I'm pretty sure that wouldn't work unless the vehicle was entirely electronic; if the engine is still mechanical then shorting out the battery would just stop them using the radio, and restarting the engine if they stopped completely.
>>
>>31900060

Because I don't think they're gonna let us stop and plant explosives in any case.

So we might as well make sure the op goes smoothly, kill everything fast without hesitation, get the job done.
>>
>>31899813
>What do YOU choose?
"Team leader."
>>
>>31900074
Cops didn't get pissy about that. That got pissy when we didn't wipe everyone out.
>>
>>31900074

Of course they would.

They wanted BRIBES and they were in their pocket the whole time which was why the community asked for us.
>>
>>31899813
"We'll hit them in transit. It's the quickest and most efficient way to catch them in the open." You say. "Based on the itinerary Marc provided us, we'll intercept the shipment in about fifteen minutes. I want all of you ready to go by then."

"Yes, Producer!"

Satisfied, you check your watch. You suppose now would be a good time to check in to see how the other groups were doing.

Well, the mission objective, is just to make sure the shipment never makes it to it's location.

So whether we take them, destroy them, sell them, or use the shipment ourselves it does not matter.

>>31900047
This is an ambush, with an overwhelming amount of firepower we can more quickly quell any resistance before they can even react.

If we don't have everyone gunning with all we got we run the risk of them surviving the initial volley of fire and retaliating.

For a trained force, when ambushed they are taught to either retreat or push through. We need to prevent that, and to do so the best option is again overwhelming firepower.

Fair point, we still have the SUV as an armoured car/mobile armour thingie.

The only thing that would give us pause would be anti-armour or air support.

Jesus christ we need to hit them hard, that shipment probably has a number of AT tubes.
>>
>>31900220
Should upgrade the SUVs armour then and make it hard as hell to damage, maybe add the torrent and the engine upgrade as well.
>>
>>31900242

In time.

And the turret upgrade is fucking useless on the SUV since the whole point of getting it was blending into the crowd.

Now if we got it on the Armoured APC vehicles in the shop, that would be fine.
>>
We can use Cole's Jammer to cut off their communications when we make the ambushed
>>

Also give Rochelle a quick sitrep, she was all worried and angry at us last time we didn't tell her stuff about an Op. And since this was supposed to be her Op but turned it down, and she chose who the new leader out of her fellow peers for the Op, she might have some concerns or worries in the back of her mind.

In fact we should give Jenner and Stig a stirep and ask for one ourselves.

>>31900267

And the Madeuce (or a type of .50 cal HMG) from what I recall is what we were offered as an upgrade to the SUV.
>>
>>31900300
Okay so the plan is we drive near them and when we do.

Morgan will hit the Car with a EMP round

Cole will suddenly cut off their communications.

Melissan and K-Zwolf will suppress what any forces recover from the ambush

AUTOMATED GUN TURRET - 1000
Attaches an automated .50 cal gun turret to the top of a vehicle. One use only. Can only be used once per vehicle.

Well exact wording is to the top. And if it was pop-up, there should be a loss in passenger capacity. I'm going to assume that it ruins the disguise unless merc says otherwise.

You set your SUV into autopilot mode and key your Harbinger comm to Jenner's channel.

"Jenner, how are things going at the park?" You ask.

"Oh, rather well." Jenner reports.

"What do they have Niko and Julie doing?"

"Well, they're going to be playing mascots for the most of the day. Julie will be Liberty Girl, defender of the American Way, and Niko will be the Wicked Wendy, Master of Petty Crime."

"Is this some sort of kid's show?" You rown.

"Saturday morning programming. I heard it's quite popular in its age bracket." Jenner says.

"So, it's going to be Julie chasing Niko all over the park all day?"

"That's about the sum of it, yes." Jenner says.

"Well, uh, make sure Julie doesn't get TOO into character. You know how she gets around crime..."

"I know, Producer. I'll keep an eye out."

"Thanks."

Raised the idea whether the turret is visible of not. If it is, then rolling up with on is suspicious and will put them on edge, but it we hit them fast enough and hard enough. It's not too much of a deal.

Alternatively, we can keep the our armored technical (our van with the turret) hidden but close by.

Have Cole and/or Morgan knock out the lead and back vehicles, sandwiching and trapping the rest of the convoy.

Have Cole then knock out transmissions and communication for them.

And then have everyone open up. Have Mel and Z then focus on the escort vehicles, the ones with the security force accompanying our target, and then the target itself.

Or we can just blow up the target straight away and run away, avoiding the fight. Since the job was to just prevent the "shipment" from arriving.

You switch over to the AIrshow group. You briefly consider chatting up Stig, but you remember that he's not often one for words, so you hit up Rochelle's frequency instead.

You see her eye view darting around rapidly in all directions as she is presumably taking in the sights. There were lots of various planes on the tarmac, ranging from the US's current mainline fighter, the F-22C, to highly experimental prototypes being trumpeted by the various defense contractors as the next generation fighter. From what you heard, your employer for this job, Neucom, was trying to push the latest iteration of their FALKEN line, the Delphinius.

"Having a good time, Rochelle?"

"Oh! Sir! Um, hi!" Rochelle stammers. "I totally wasn't slacking or anything. I was just um... doing a perimeter check!"

"You don't have to lie about being excited." You laugh. "Do you at least have eyes on Rin?"

"Oh yeah, of course." Rochelle's view then turns over to see Rin in a very stylized flightsuit standing at the Neucom booth, singing a charming song and attracting quite the crowd.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L1nP2vYO24k

"I taught her that one." Rochelle says a bit proudly.

"It's a nice song." You smile. "Everything going well?"

"Oh yeah, nothing major so far. I sorta lost track of Stig, though. He kinda wandered at some point...."

"He'll turn up."

"Oh! Oh! But you're totally missing out here, sir! Nothrop Grumman is showing off their new Valkyrie, though everybody knows its just the Tomcat II, and General Resources brought in their X-39, and the new avionic stuff Neucom's bringing is just-!"

"Rochelle. Calm down." You laugh. "I'm sorry, but I don't have a lot of time. I was doing a quick check in. It's good to see things are going well!"

"Don't worry, I won't let you down, sir!" Rochelle says before you cut the line.

Returning back to your normal view and retaking manual control of the SUV, you see that you're finally approaching the target truck.

Unfortunately, it wasn't alone. You could see two black sedans both in front and behind the truck. The fact that they were both keeping pace meant their placement there was not random.

"Okay, who here can take out a vehicle?" You ask.

"Well, I guess I can use my powers to fry one." Cole shrugs.

"I've yet to see an engine block that can withstand a sufficiently sized bullet." Morgan grins, patting her Teleconference.

"MY HEAVY SUPPORT PACKAGE VASTLY INCREASES MY ANTI-VEHICLE CAPABILITY." K-Zwolf rumbles.

Okay, so that meant three attackers for three vehicles. That meant deciding on who would have the "honor" of taking out the truck.

Also since K-Z Wolf will be eliminating the lead vehicle. We can have Melissa help Morgan deal with the rear escort. And if the shipment still viable for capture, secure it. "Okay Morgan, you take care of the truck." You say. "Let's not cause too much damage, though. Use an EMP round if you got one."

"Roger that." Morgan nods, loading a blue tipped round manually into the chamber of her rifle.

"Cole, you hit the trailing vehicle and K-Zwolf takes out the lead vehicle. Cole, the moment we stop the truck, I want you to jam all signals in the largest radius you can manage."

"Got it." Cole nods.

"Alright, let's do this." You say, putting more speed into the SUV so it pulls up right alongside the truck. "Operation start!"

In one simultaneous motion, Morgan pops out of the sunroof and aims her rifle straight at the truck's engine block. Cole leans out the window to get a clear view of her target, while K-Zwolf leaps out the trunk, hits the pavement, and leaps to the top of the truck to get a better line of fire on the lead vehicle.

Morgan breathes and fires. This close, it was impossible to miss, but Morgan manages to nail the truck's engine block dead on. With the engine dead, the truck quickly begins to lose momentum. A blast of lightning sends the chase sedan skidding out of control. Unfortunately, K-Zwolf can't seem to get a clear target. It fires off a minimissile, but the projectile goes high and slams into the back of a civilian vehicle, sending it careening into the shoulder.

Almost immediately, a total of eight armed men pile out of the two sedans. Meanwhile, you can see the truck driver trying to manually restart his vehicle's systems.

Meanwhile, traffic on your side of the freeway screeches to a halt. You quickly make a tally. There's eight mercs and one driver, against your three idols and cyberhound.

Both Melissa and K-Zwolf's LMGs pound away at the two sedans, forcing the guards to take cover behind them. Unfortunately for, you, the sedans are armored, so bullets wouldn't quite do the job. Meanwhile, Cole fires off a few shots of opportunity, and manages to hit one of the guards in the shoulder.

"K-Zwolf, can your missiles put a dent in those armored sedans?" You ask.

"AFFIRMATIVE. HOWEVER, IT WILL MOST LIKELY TAKE MULTIPLE DIRECT HITS TO FULLY DESTROY."

"What about the truck?"

"PRELIMINARY SCANS SUGGEST THE TRUCK IS ALSO ARMORED. I PREDICT I ONLY HAVE SUFFICIENT MUNITIONS TO DESTROY EITHER THE SEDANS OR THE TRUCK."

This was bad. Hitting the sedans would pretty go a long way to wiping out resistance, but there would be no way the explosions would escape notice by the authorities. If you blew the truck, you would technically complete your mission and you could evac, but you'd miss the chance to scrounge any potential loot it could be holding.

We have to make her confident in herself, but at the same time tell her where to improve on. Not to mention that there are some factors one cannot control.

Already had it planned out.

"This was just another mission, of many to come ,don't worry somethings worked out and others didn't. This serves as an example that even though we can plan everything out from the get go things may not go our way. Then we need to improvise or revert a Plan B like we did today, plan but also be prepared. The important thing as a leader though is that we got the mission done, you kept yourself and the group together, and got nobody killed. In this mission we did that and all we needed to do was stop the shipment and we did that as well. I know it may not seem like a victory, but it is, sometimes victory is just making sure the other guys don't succeed. You did a good job but there is always room for improvement, just gotta believe in yourself Cole."

>>31902901
As much as you were tempted to loot the truck, you felt things were getting too risky. You were outnumbered and surrounded from two sides. Plus, no doubt somebody had managed to get out of range of Cole's jamming and call for help. It was time to leave.

"K-Zwolf, destroy the truck. Cole, get everybody back into the SUV! Morgan, give us some covering fire!"

"AFFIRMATIVE!" K-Zwolf's eyes flash red as it unleashes its entire payload, its minimissiles spiraling in the air before converging on the the disabled truck, engulfing it in orange fire. There are a number of smaller, secondary explosions as no doubt ammunition and other volatile materials are set off. Cole and Melissa pile back into the SUV while Morgan puts an AP round into the lead car's engine to prevent it from chasing you. She ducks back into the car just as you hit the accelerator, and your SUV zooms past as the guards ineffectually fire bullets into your SUV's armored hull. As one last insult, Cole leans out the window and gives the guards a one finger salute.

"Cole, manners."

"Fuckers deserved it." Cole shrugs. "So, mission accomplished?"

"Well, those weapons are never going to make it to the store now. So we did our job."

"Still, such a shame to see so many weapons go to waste." Morgan sighs sadly. "Such a tragedy."

"Yeah, I wish we had time to loot, too, but things just didn't go our way." You shake your head.

"Hey, at least we're all still alive." Melissa adds in. "And I don't think anybody got hurt too bad."

"Well, there was that car this this tin can here totally blew up." Cole points to K-Zwolf.

"THE DRIVER OF THAT VEHICLE ESCAPED WITHOUT INJURY." K-Zwolf rumbles, almost as if it were trying to defend itself.

All the while, you're keeping a close eye on your rearview mirror. You don't see any signs of pursuit, so you guess you're in the clear for now.

True this is Cole, let me tune it a bit. Should only say this if this mission and how it turned out bother her.

"Plan but also prepare because plans can go to shit, remember the objective and complete it first and foremost, don't get yourself or your team killed, sometimes winning is just making sure the other guys lose, and you're a smart girl, you can lead, no worries."

Honestly man. Cole seems fucking fine.

And if she does bring up doubt at all. Ask two questions: We complete the objective? Did anyone die?

That's it.

Cole thinks we did a job well done, and was probably glad the plan succeeded.

I agree we completed the mission and no one got killed on our side. And Cole does not seem phased at all, so we good. Still had it pre-typed up just in case anyone questioning outcome of mission.

True we could have optimized our load out more before hand.
>>
>>31903164
You decide to stay focused on driving for now. You could check in later.

"Anyways, Cole, since we've just completed your first mission as team leader, do you have any thoughts on how things could have gone better?" You ask.

"Well, I guess we should have had a more consistent plan of action." Cole frowns. "I mean, if we wanted to loot truck, we should've disabled it and destroyed the sedans. If we wanted to just blow it up from the get go, we should've done that which would have saved us a whole lot of trouble."

"Not bad." You nod. You then key the onboard TV to see if news of your little attack had gotten out.

"In other news, there was a major traffic accident involving a semi truck and three sedans. While damage was significant, there have been no confirmed fatalities..."

Well, you suppose the powers that be didn't want word of a freeway driveby leaking out. Or, maybe freeway drivebys were just a common occurrence in Delta City. In either case, it looked like you all got off easy today..

"So, is anybody hungry?" You ask.

"YES!" All the girls chime.

You make a quick stop at a McDonalds and grab as many fries and chicken nuggets your car can carry. Apparently, the drive thru cashier was so desensitized that he didn't even bat an eye at serving a black SUV carrying three heavily armed, armored, and masked girls.

"Have a nice day." He says flatly as he hands you your receipt.

It talks another half hour to get back to the office. Cole, Melissa, and Morgan quickly shuck off their gear and head upstairs to shower, leaving Falynn to sort everything out.

"Yep, of course you get the SUV shot up. Gotta fix all that, too." Falynn shakes her head and sighs.

You decide to check in on Rochelle's group. You hop onto her frequency, however, all you see is darkness, and you hear Rochelle mumbling to herself.

"Oh god I just wanna die, I just wanna die, I just wanna die and go away forever..."

She repeats this several times, and you're utterly confused, and almost too afraid to interrupt her. You switch over to Rin, who you see is actually overlooking Rochelle. Your team lead was lying no the ground in a fetal position in what looked like their private break tent.

"Ummmm, Rin? What exactly happened here?" You ask.

"Oh, Producer!" Rin gasps. "Ah, well, it's a funny story, really..."

"Out with it. What's got Rochelle so out of it?"

"Well, um, you remember how Rochelle likes to play video games a lot?"

"Yeah, it's not exactly a big secret." You say.

"Well, Neucom has this arcade plane simulator machines that they brought in for entertainment. And well, it turns out Rochelle actually played that a lot, so she volunteered to take on challengers on the behalf of Neucom..."

Well, it didn't sound that bad so far.

"So what happened?"

"Apparently, she's rather famous in the game? One of the players recognized her playstyle. He claimed that she was Mobius, the currently #1 ranked player in the world?"

"Wait.. what?"

"Yeah, I was kinda surprised at it too. Apparently, Rochelle didn't take well to being found out and, well, she's been like this ever since."

God, of all the silly little things to get hung up over!

"GO AWAY I JUST WANNA DIE!" Rochelle wails.

"Rochelle please. Calm down. Breathe. Rin told me everything. Why is this such a big deal to you?" You ask as calmly as possible.

""I... I take keeping my personal life and game handle separate very seriously!" Rochelle sniffs. "Now they're going to know who I am, and all they'll think of me is that one girl who's really good at video games!"

"And... that's bad?" You ask. "It sounds like a good way to pick up fans."

"IT'S EMBARRASSING!"

"Rochelle, come on, I can't believe it would be that bad."

"Okay, Stig is off to warn the Neucom officials. You keep an eye on those mechanics. I'll be right over with backup." You glance at your GPS and scowl. The airshow would be at least a half hour's drive.

"All right, I'll try to keep low." Rochelle whispers.

Hey fellas. I forget the name of our hacker, but I was thinking if we are heading out to provide back up, could she check google maps or somesuch for good lookouts overlooking the airfield we could drop Morgan off at? She could start doing her sniping routine before we reach the site itself.

Fortunately, the mechanics seem unaware that Rochelle is watching them, as they hang back in the shade, keeping a wary eye on the Neucom booth. Suddenly, there's a huge commotion as Neucom staff begin rushing out and warding everybody away from their planes. Whatever Stig was doing, it had worked, as the mechanics suddenly become very anxious. They begin to pack up to leave, and in their haste, don't even notice Rochelle.

Rochelle manages to get a good look at the three infiltrators' faces, which you quickly file away for later reference. She even manages to grab a shot of their escape vehicle as it hastily drives off.

"Well, they're gone." Rochelle sighs.

"Yeah. Good job, though, Rochelle."

"Thanks, sir."

"Stig, what happened?" You asked.

"Told the Neucom guys to check their planes." The Stig's synthesized voice says simply. "Found problems."

"More specifically," Rin joins in. "One of the planes was tampered with, so that it would suddenly start up its engines without warning. So anything that was standing in front of it...."

"...would get sucked in." You wince. "Don't tell me..."

"It was the plane closest to the stage. If Rin were standing there if it went off, well, some pretty bad things would have happened." Stig says bluntly.

"Who would do something like that?" Rochelle wonders out loud.

"We'll figure that out later." You sigh. "Wrap things up and get back to the office, ASAP."

You frown when you cut the line. You should've expected this, but you never thought your rivals would be so brazen. Some mild sabotage sure, but this was pretty damn reckless, if it was a deliberate attempt to kill Rin. This warranted further investigation.

Set Himawari to start investigating the leads we have so far, set our vehicle towards the park in case they try making a move on our other performace idol, once we are in route, go under and start poking around.

I think its about time we fit that armour upgrade kit to Jenner's car. They pull this kind of shit, we're gonna need all the protection they can get.

Scowling, you forward all the pictures you got to Himawari, appending a note telling her to run the data through every database she could think of. You then set up a link with Jenner to check in on her.

"Jenner, how are things?"

"We're just about wrapping up here." Jenner says. "Which is good because I think Niko is on the verge of dying from exhaustion. Julie got a bit carried away chasing her around, you see..."

You can almost picture that little fiasco.

"Heh. I hope you got plenty of photographic evidence."

"Naturally." Jenner then sighs. "Something happened, right?"

"How do you know?"

"You sound more anxious than usual." Jenner says simply. "What's wrong?"

"A rival idol group tried to do a hit on Rin today. We're trying to figure out who's behind it. I just wanted to give you a heads up in case they're after you, to."

"Thanks. I'll keep an eye out." Jenner says. "But I haven't see anything suspicious all day."

"Good, let's keep it that way." You sigh and lean back in your chair. Things were looking up, but at the same time things were getting more complicated.

"So, Himawari, did you find anything yet?" You ask.

"Mmmmm, not yet. I'm not getting any hits." Your tech expert sighs. "It's possible they have facial prosthetics to throw off facial recognition. I might need to cook up a more thorough program to compensate for that."

"What about the car?"

"Traced the plates. The don't match the vehicle, which means they probably pulled them off a random vehicle."

"So, no leads?"

"So far, no." Himawari sighs. "I need more time."

"That might not be something we have a lot of." You point out.

"I know, I know! I'll do my best!"

You sigh again. At least your girls were safe.

For now.

RoE prevent them from just walking up and shooting her in the face, but if they can make it look like an accident then it's a different story.

So in light of the new thread, what do we need to upgrade our defences?

I think Julie needs the riot slab shield upgrade, we armour up Jenner's car.

What do we do with Rin? Still escort her back home everyday? Or do we ask her to move in?
