TANK ROSTER: http://pastebin.com/UCXDAajg

You are Gertrude Pool, Sophomore Class President and new commander of Lafayette Girls Academy’s revived Tankery Team.

“Yeah, of course we want to press charges.” Lisa paces the street, cellphone at her as she speaks to a lawyer student from Naval Studies Law. “I mean, they can send her to the brig for election rigging alone. Not to mention she burned our clubhouse to the ground.”

Besides that, you all sit on the curb, coats around your shoulders as you watch the clean up crews and your crews walk around, shoveling some debris or just moping about. Last night was a bit hard on you. Kitten in particular, but she’s fast asleep at least, resting her head on your lap.

At least no one got hurt.

Lisa nods. “Yeah. Alright, alright.” She hangs up and looks over to you. “They’re turning Fredendall over to Naval Studies Law and the Hall Monitors, Academyship Admiralty will get her next then we can try pressing charges and squeeze some cash out of her.”

You nod. “Good, good.”

“I’ll talk to Naval Studies Admin later though about emergency insurance plans,” she says. She sighs. “I knew procrastinating on the insurance was a bad idea.”

Alright damage, report I need to know the extent of the damage to the tanks and the building.

You stand up, crossing your arms. “Lisa, be blunt with me. What’s the damage?”

“Well…” Lisa kicks at the ground a bit, hesitant. “Most of our tanks are out for repairs. The T-34 and the Stupa are good, they were at Mr. Mishka’s. The rest though are in need of repairs really quickly and the building… the Hangar’s pretty much done for and the HQ building isn’t looking too good.”

You ask, “How long?”

Lisa knows what you’re asking. “The tanks need at least a week or two.”

“We don’t have a week or two,” you say. “Pravda is literally a week from now. I ain’t raising my voice at you, Lisa but…” You groan. “Goddamn it. Are the repairs at least free?”

“Emergency plans can compensate up to 30,000 Dollars in damages, I’d need to see what we can fix with that,” she says.

“Alright,” you say. Jeez. You even saw the fire on the news overnight. Tankery HQ burns to the ground, tanks inside done for.

As it stands, the actual tanks were towed out, and thank goodness the Skycraft planes weren’t here either, they’re being kept where the abandoned hangar used to be. But damn it, the tanks. This was a pickle for sure.

If there's no harm in making the phone calls, then we have absolutely no reason not to ask. Simple as that.

Phone calls and repairs are not mutually exclusive.

If we can't repair every tank in time, any tank may be useful. Or it may not, but again there is literally no reason not to ask because it costs you nada.

We didn't actually do it last thread.

Fuck me you're dense.
>>
Going off the tanks we need for the next battle, we need to focus our efforts to get 15 tanks available.

Since the T-34 and the Sturmpanzer were fine, we are left with 13 out of 14 (15 if we include the panther chassis) that we need to work on.

Assuming we attempt Excel Anon's idea of deploying the Combine Japanese Team, we can put them in the Chaffee thats coming in, that reduces the requirement to 12 tanks that we need repaired.

We still have that sunday fundraiser with the Model Shop which should help us gather donations to repair the tanks and restore the clubhouse.
>>
>>32040009
If you continued reading the thread, we'll be able to do so next thread. Also the morale reverse also states that we can reverse any previous morale loss. This is the previous morale loss, stop making a big deal out of it.

>>
>>32040016
>restore the clubhouse.
Fuck that noise.

We don't have the time or money for that shit, and the only reason we needed the Tankery HQ was because Fredendall was a cunt and barred us from using the campus to store our tanks.

That ain't an issue now and I could care less if the tanks sit out in the open if they need to, we need to focus on repairing them and getting them match ready above ALL else.
>>
So, let's set aside all our vacation days, roll up our sleeves and get to work
>>
> Consult the Shop (Specify)

“So, what’s it looking like, Mr. Mishka?”

“Oh, well, I’m looking at all the tanks here and it’s honestly not as bad as you think it might be.”

“How so?”

“Well, most of the internals need replacing. The engines for sure are goners. A few rivets have burst open from the heat, spalled the interiors. Let’s not even get to the armor. But, it’s all fixable, the tanks can definitely be saved.”

“How soon?”

“Well, I’d need to order parts and new engines. That can be anywhere between two days and a week. You could bring down all the King’s horses and all the King’s men, it’s not going to matter shit if the parts replacing them are made of tinfoil and ducttape.”

“Well, how much would it cost?”

“Good question, I’m still calculating things. New parts for all the tanks can be anywhere between fifty and eighty-thousand dollars.”

You nod. Damn it. “Alright. Um, call me later about this, Mr. Mishka. We’ll see you later.”

“Yeah, truly sorry.”

With that, Mr. Mishka hangs up. You look over to see your crews gathering up to you. They all look tired, worn out, and worse of all, beaten.

You sigh. “Morning, everyone.”

Slade says, “Well this fucking sucks.”

“Yeah!” Henrietta. All the crews groan and complain. “What’s the point in having a Tankery team now with no tanks!?”

“Now, guys,” you say. “Listen-“

Barbera says, “We worked with those tanks for weeks and now they’re just gone like that!”

Marina says, “Now, guys. Gertrude has a plan.” She looks at you, hopeful. “You do have a plan right?”

You sigh, then yawn loudly. “Oh jeez.” You look over at Kitten, who’s fresh from being woken up. “You can go home, Kitten. There’s work needs doing.”

“That’s why I’m staying,” she says. “Else you’ll run into another fire.”

“You’re never going to let me live that down, are you?” you ask playfully.

If you are going to draft a demand letter, let a professional on the ship do it so they can word is properly.

Make it clear to the lawyer that you need the money ASAP, so that is a thing.

>>
>>32041155
Well, I guess it depends on how quickly Freddie's folks want it swept under the rug.
>>
>>32041236

Speed is a thing, but realistically, they'd have to find counsel or since they are rich enough, talk to their retainer.

Then they'd have to consult with a criminal lawyer as well about their daughter's criminal liabilities and whether settling civil settlement early would be advantageous.

Then they have to decide the terms of the settlement, and then it's going to be back and forth between our lawyer and their lawyer.

The good thing is that we haven't filed a lawsuit yet so this process can be expedited somewhat with less posturing. But I would still say that it would realistically take more than a week. Probably don't want to count on settlement money before our match to be safe.

“Now, here is what we can do for you,” says Naval Studies Student Lawyer Janie Adams. “We already have an ironclad case against Freddy with her not only burning your tanks and your building, but also of rigging an election, corruption, etcetera. Now, you want to press charges right?”

You arrived at the Admin building on campus where Naval Studies Administration works. The Law firm part of it generally works by United States Admiralty Law when the ship is not on Shore Leave. “Yes,” you say. Kitten sits next to you, dozing off in her chair. Right now, you’re Adams’ office discussing the potentials.

Adams nods, then types something on her laptop. “Alright, alright. Now here’s what’s mostly likely going to happen. Fredendall will get time in the brig until Shore Leave in Virginia whereupon she becomes the State Government’s problem. As for you pressing charges, Fredendall’s family is likely to try and settle out of court. You can certainly try and see how much they pay to get it swept under the rug.”

You say, “Let’s just get her behind bars or out of LGA, I don’t care where she goes. But what matters is that I need money now.”

“Ah…” Adams bites down on her pen, thinking. She says, “That’s a problem. Depending on if they settle out of court, it all depends on when- Look, I’m going to blunt with you. This needs to go through a hefty process which involves a lot of legal mumbo jumbo. It could take anywhere between two weeks to a month to see any cash."

You nod, scratching your chin. “… is there any way to get the money faster?”

Adams puffs her cheeks out, drumming her fingers on the table. “Well… suppose you-“

“I’m not kissing you.”

“Hmph.” She crosses her arms. “Worth a shot.”

You and Kitten stand up. “Thanks, Adams. You’ve been a good help for what it’s worth. I don’t suppose there are no alternatives?”

She shakes her head. “None that are legal. Though, I am a Student Lawyer, there’s a lot about the finer points of Law that I don’t understand.”

“Of course, well, thank you anyway.”

She nods, handing you a business card. “Call me.”

You nod. “Yeah.”

“For business matters.”

“Still, call me.” She smiles at you. You shrug then leave the Admin Building with Kitten.

Kitten yawns a bit. “So, how’d it go?”

You shrug. “Could have gone worse.”

“Hey, Principal Tennyson-“

“I know what you’re going to ask and I’m going to tell you right now, I’m working on it. So far I’m working with administration on getting the building rebuilt.”

“What about money?”

“Different story. The Tanks were bought and maintained with club funds which means I can’t compensate it for you. What I can do is try and get everyone to rally around donating money for you. I know the Faculty is rooting for you to win and they’re sitting on piles of money.”

“Well, that’s nice, Principal Tennyson.”

“Of course. I’ll update you see how things go.”

“Cool stuff. Thanks, Principal.”

With that, you also text the Girl Scouts on whether they can support repairs or not. They text back with:

“They only do line purchases. Repairs are something we have to do ourselves. Sorry!”

Well, at least they’re honest.

You arrive at the shop’s warehouse to see all of your tanks, scorched but not destroyed, sitting in rows as Naval Studies Engineering students, Huxley, Benita, Lisa, and Mr. Mishka work on them. There are even a few other students you don’t recognize wearing khakis you don’t particularly recognize. Who the hell are they-

“Gertrude!” you look over.

Victoria Augustine and friends. They’re greased and dirty all to hell but they look happy to see you. Victoria offers her hands, and you shake it gratefully. “Nice to see you’re not injured or anything.”

“Victoria,” you say. “Jesus. What are you guys doing here?”

Mary Stuart says, “Aye, we done heard off the vine that ye armor done went up in flames ye, so Queen Vicky here had us onna next flight tae LGA wi’ parts and tools an’ other stuff, ken?”

Anne Murphy says, “She says we heard what happened so we decided to come and help anyway we can. No team deserves to get knocked out because of a fire.” She tilts her head down the line to reveal Perrine Hobart, also directing some of her students on repairs as well. “Perrine’s here too, fecking bitch has been riding us on proper repairs.”

Victoria nods. “Regardless, we’re here to help you.”

“God, thanks you guys, you shouldn’t have,” you say.

“On the contrary,” says Victoria. “This too is Tankery, Gertrude.”

“Gertrude!” Perrine runs over to you, arms wide. “Hugs!” You decide to let it slide this time and let her take you in a gripping bear hug. “Oh, ma petit ami!”

You nod. “Yeah, yeah. It’s nice to see you, Perrine. You came all this way to help?” She lets you go and grins widely, adjusting her glasses a touch.

“Of course!” she says. “Mind you, I’m here by myself and I’ve brought a good amount of parts for your Shermans and other tanks. Anything else though and I’d have to charge you, and I don’t want to do that after what happened. It’s a deplorable thing!”

“Yeah,” you say. “So, is there anything I can do?”

“Of course!” she says. “We need people to help lower in the new engines. Black Forest Peak actually sent a whole new engine for your King Tiger after they heard what happened, along with some other spare parts. Saunders and St. Gloriana sent things in too.”

Of course, thank you Japanese girls. You walk on over to the King Tiger where the Engine is beginning to be loaded in y crane. Huxley and Benita are overseeing this process.

Huxley looks down at you, curious. “Ah, Gertrude. Bouncing back?”

“Sure am, like a rubber ball under thousands of pounds of pressure.”

You climb up onto the top and start helping the engine in via crane. Benita holds the crane in place while you and Huxley steady the engine into place. Slowly, but surely, the gigantic engine is lowered in with a thud as it reaches the bottom. You sigh. “Well, that was easy,” you say.

“Of course,” says Huxley. “But now we have to get the drivetrain working, get all oil and the fuel in, and connect it to the turret traverse. That’s going to take ages.”

You nod. “Neat.”

Huxley nods, then hops into the turret and disappears inside the tank.

“Same way Uncle Mishka does it,” he says. “Quietly.”

Well, no point in arguing that.

“Speaking of which, Gertrude, can I ask you something?”

You nod. “Sure, what is it?”

“What’s with Lisa?” he asks. “Does she have some crush on me or something? One minute Ramirez is telling me she likes me, another minute Lisa’s yelling at me about my latest fuck up.” He rolls his eyes, sighing. “Didn’t particularly mean to look up her skirt anyway.”

He stares back down at you, unamused. “Yeah, if you’re trying to tell me something, I’m not getting it. Mind you, I do think Lisa’s pretty cute. If you like the book-ish type.”

“Hey, should I really be here to discuss your taste in women?” You sit up. “Besides, didn’t you have a date with Lisa? Really hit it off with her? In fact, you seem to get into quite a number of interesting situations with her.”

Huxley shrugs. “Eh, to be honest with you, I don’t claim to be good with women. Being here on LGA, I’ve actually gotten a number of love letters and girls coming to my doorstep wanting to ask me out on a date and to be blunt, I never know how to deal with it. It really sucks being the only fertile male their age for miles. I’m sure more confident boys would give their left nut to be in my position but here we are.”

Everyone settles down on the floor of the warehouse for some pizza ordered in by Mr. Mishka. “You what? Nae fookin’ chips or irn-bru?” says Mary Stuart.

“Oi, have some fecking respect you manky hoor,” says Murphy.

Regardless, it’s time to dig into some pizza. You sit down next to Lisa and Kitten as you start munching down on the food. Everyone chats and talks excitedly. The tanks meanwhile seem to be coming along nicely, and in the back of the warehouse you can even see some spare hulls that Perrine must be working in for some of your more damaged tanks.

Perrine says, “So, did I already tell you guys what I was doing with the O-I?”

Victoria nods. “Yes. Three times.”

“So basically what I was doing-“

“That dinnae we wanna hear it again,” says Stuart.

“Right.” You stuff down a second slice and stand up. “Time to get back to work.”

Mr. Mishka laughs a bit at that. “Punctual, Gertrude. I like that!”

With that, you head on over to the next tank, your Sherman Cupid actually. From what Huxley and Mr. Mishka tell you, all that needs to be done is calibration of the gunsights and replacement of some of the gear sticks for the driver. Simple enough.

You bang your head on the hatch. Damn it, that’s the third time that’s happened.

Kitten pops into the co-driver hatch and sits down in the seat, looking around. “Hey, Trudy.”

“What’s up, Kitten?” you ask as you drive the stick into place.

“Just seeing if you need any help.”

“Yeah, if you could get the .30 into place for me, that’d be great.” With that, Kitten grabs the .30 Caliber machine gun from the back and starts sticking it into the hole.

“So, Trudy.” Kitten looks over at you. “With all that’s happening, you think we can get the tanks ready in time for our match?”

I do see a point though. Take a picture of the tanks as they were before restoration (which has probably already been done for insurance/lawsuit purposes) then take a picture after restoration. It'll remind everyone how they can recover from the darkest of times.
>>
> Boast – “Of course!”

You nod. “Of course, Kitten! If we all do our part, we can have these tanks ready in no time.”

With that, you finish up your Sherman. You pat the side of it, probably not the first time it’s been set on fire.

Mr. Mishka tells you, “Gertrude. Let me be honest with you. Between all the parts Saunders and all the other Japanese teams have sent us, along with the help from Miss Hobart and the William Adams girls, I don’t think we’ll have to charge you anything.”

“Really?” you say.

“Oh, we have a surplus!” says Mr. Mishka. “I must say, it’s a damn miracle that they just came out of the blue to help us like this.”

Kitten says, “Well, you know what they say. Yesterday’s enemy is today’s friend.”

You look over to see the William Adams girls work diligently on replacing the engine for the Churchill, with Perrine overwatching them.

Well, there’s certainly some truth to that.

“Alright, just put that in there.” Benita directs you in replacing the idler wheel for the StuG. “Now, tracks are going to be a bigger issue but I think we can work on that another time.”

You nod. “Alright,” you, Lisa, and Kitten come to stand, then you look at each other. Jesus, all of you are covered in grease.

Benita says, “So far, we’ve got the King Tiger, the Sherman, and the Churchill in play for now. All they need is some minor adjustments but if we work diligently we can probably have all this tanks ready by Tuesday or Wednesday.”

You smile, crossing your arms. “Neat. Maybe I should get the team down here some time, promote solidarity and what now.”

“Of course,” says Benita. She pats you on the back walks off.

You check the time. 5 O’Clock. Jeez. You look over to see Nancy and Ramirez walking in. “Hello, Gertrude!” says Nancy.

“Hey, Nancy.” You gesture over to the tanks. “As you can see, we’ve been busy. How are things on your end?”

Ramirez says, “We’ve been collecting a bit of money. We’ve managed to raise about fifteen-thousand dollars.”

> + 15,000 DOLLARS

Nancy nods. “I’ve been helping her with that. Naval Studies Admin is also funding the rebuild of our Tank Depot with our emergency funding. They say you can cancel that at any time though if you’d like to spend the money elsewhere.”

“So, Nancy,” you ask. “Did we get a reply back about postponing the match?”

Nancy says, “As it stands, our deadline for asking for a postponement has already past. We’d need to forfeit if we can’t make it.”

“D’oh,” you say. “Well, we’ve gone through worse I suppose.” You snap your fingers. “Though, if you could prepare some neat little care packages and gifts for the schools that helped us, that would be great!”

Stuart says, “Send us some of them fookin’ red cups!”

“And some cookies while you’re at it!” says Murphy.

Perrine says, “Can I get some Girl Scout Cookies too? It’s been ages and I already piled through all of mine!”

You nod. “Yeah, yeah. We’ll get to it.”

With that, you continue to inspect the finer details of your Sherman. This includes paintwork. You spray on a new emblem along with a fresh olive-drab coat of paint. Old Cupid is already looking good as new. Your stomach growls a little. Already time for dinner.

You quickly text the Girl Scouts to prepare some cookies. Meanwhile, Slade and Dana of the Naval Studies engineering team get sent out on a food run.

Dana said this as she and Slade walked out the door, “Let’s get some Thai food! I like Thai food, I don’t know what it is about Thai that really dances off the tongue and down your gullet. I suppose it’s nothing like a nice spicy bowl of pho either, you ever have pho, Slade? It’s delicious! I used to live next to this nice Vietnamese family and they always made pho or rice curry for me but they were great at ramen too!”

Slade said, “That’s a nice story, boot.”

With that, you get to work adjusting the roadwheels for the Tiger II. It’s busy work yes, and you’re getting dirty and greasy as fuck, but hell you’re not going to rest until this shit is done and over with.

Lisa and Nancy smile at you. “So, Boss!” says Lisa. “Me and Nancy were thinking. About the whole sponsor thing tomorrow.”

You nod. “Sure, what about?”

Nancy says, “A raffle!”

“Cool!” you say, smiling. “I like raffles!”

“To go on a date with you!”

Also we should try to max out our new opponent,

What do we know of them so far.

The Kv-2 will be used to hold a strong point and is weird as hell.

Their effective with the T-34

They work well in snow and ambushes.

Their elite switches between the Is-2 and a T-34.

So far, there doesn’t seem to be much else special about Pravda. Their last match it seems has showed their true colors. Despite them managing to encircle Ooarai, the ensuing breakout and the loss of control of the situation means that Pravda couldn’t really adapt fast enough. That might be something worth exploiting.

“Well, girls,” you say. “It seems like we’ve did a lot today.”

Nancy nods. “Of course! I imagine that if we keep to our guns and stick with it, we’ll be unbeatable! The tanks themselves should be fixed really soon!”

“Yeah,” says Lisa.

You all stop when you hear something coming towards. You turn back to see Perrine running at you. “Waaaaaaait!” she screams. She immediately swamps you in a hug. “Forgot the goodbye hugs, desolee!”

You nod. “Yeah, yeah.” You pat Perrine on the back. “Thanks.”

She lets you go, smiling. “Good luck in the tournament. Keep me updated!” She waves goodbye, giggling a bit.

“Well, that was out of nowhere,” says Ramirez.

Regardless, you spend the rest of the time heading home. You get back to the dorms in short order.

How about everyone get washed up in their own dorms first of all? They're all filthy now and should get clean ASAP, and there's not enough space for 5 people in one dorm's shower.
Kitten can join if she wants.

“Dibs!” says Lisa. She quickly runs into the bathroom for a shower. Typical.

But regardless, you all sit down around the warmer-coffee-table-heater-blanket thingy. It keeps you nice and cozy as you all wait for your turn to shower. Kitten is already sound asleep underneath the blanket of it, d’aw.

Nancy starts making a few night snacks along with some glasses of milk for you.

“So, Gertrude!” says Nancy. “Are you staying over for the night?”

“If it comes to it!” you say.

“Well, I won’t mind!” she says as she sets down a glass of milk for you.

> Shower with Kitten as soon as you can

You lather and wash Kitten’s hair as you and her get awash in Nancy’s shower.

Kitten says, “Rough day.”

“Yeah,” you say. “I know.”

“I’m really sorry this stuff happened to you, Trudy,” she says.

“It wasn’t your fault,” you say. “If anything, I should thank you for stopping me before I ran through those flames. You probably saved my life, Kitten.” You kiss her on the cheek. “And I’m glad you did.”

Kitten says, “Oh, don’t be so cheesy.” She tilts her head back a bit, sighing. “Blame yourself for thinking you could survive something like that.”

“Yeah, yeah.”

With that, you finish off your shower. Lisa and Ramirez are chattering a bit at the Coffee-table-warmer-heater-blanket gadget. Nancy pulls you aside. “Can I talk to you, for a second?”

The both of you stand outside in the cold in front of Nancy’s dorm. Nancy paces the ground a bit, thinking while you simply look at her.

Finally, Nancy says, “How do you do it?”

“Do what?” you ask.

“Be… brave. I mean, last night, you were prepared to just run into the flames, get yourself killed saving the tanks! And… even before that! You- You just do all this! Helping save the school and…”

You cross your arms, frowning a bit.

Nancy says, “And…” She bites her lips, gesturing towards herself. “And look at me, all I can do is… just look and act scared. I mean, you remember the first time we ever got into a tank fight.”

“That was nerves, Nancy,” you say.

“But still,” she says. “And then there that time with William Adams and now this? And you’ve managed to keep yourself so well. How do you do it?”

“Nancy, I’m brave but I am scared too, sometimes. I’m scared that LGA will close down, I’m scared that me and Kitten will have to go to separate schools, and only be able to see each other only a few times a year face to face. I’m scared that my little sister will probably never be able to attend the school of her dreams. And I’m scared for all of the faculty, all of the people who’ll get uprooted when LGA closes down, it’s not just a school it’s an entire city on top of it too.” You cross your arms, sighing. “But you know, Nancy, I have to be brave too. Running into a burning building isn’t bravery mind you, it’s stupidity, but, that’s irrelevant.”

Nancy says, “So what is relevant?”

“I’m brave because I have to be,” you say. “Nancy, bravery isn’t the overcoming of fear, it’s despite fear. It’s standing up for the little guy even if you know you’re going to get the shit kicked out of you. It’s saddling up even if you know might lose. It’s raising two little girls when the love of your life is gone. That’s what bravery is. At least, my definition of bravery.”

Nancy stands there, quiet. “Huh,” is what she finally says.

You nod. “Yeah, didn’t mean to preach.” You open up the door. “Come on, it’s getting cold.” She nods, then you both walk in.

You all sit around the blanket-heater-coffee-warmer-table thingy, the blanket around your legs. “So, what were you two talking about?” asks Lisa.

Nancy says, “Oh, Gertrude was just giving me a little bit of advice.” She smiles at you. “And, it was very much needed advice.”

You shrug. “Well, yeah.”

“Hmph.” Lisa scratches her chin. “You know, I figure tomorrow’s going to be a nice cozy day at least. We get to relax a little, raise some money, work up a sponsor or two. Heck, Boss here gets a free lunch with some lucky gal.”

You roll your eyes. “I don’t know how you two talked me into that.”

“But it’s a good idea!” says Lisa. “Come on, we’ll make at least a couple of thousand of dollars on it!”

“Well, I’ll feel bad for whoever loses,” you say. “Which is going to be a lot of people. Why not just a meet and greet or something?”

“You’d be there until you were twenty,” says Ramirez.

You all laugh a little at that. You pet Kitten as she lies back, already fast asleep. “I suppose that’s something,” you say.

Lisa says, “It’d certainly be hilarious if it makes a couple out of the two of you.”

“Oh, let’s not start.”
