[]Attack Host:Grow Mass:Infest Organs:Control Host

You are a parasite, and you have just had the pleasure of quenching wrath in the cooling vat of cunning and trepidation. Ensnaring one of the vile flukes, you directed the mass to infest and mimic the creatures form. Roughly approximating its physical arrangement you were able form a colony of free swimming cells, able to handle the strong currents in the host’s blood and to resist immune tagging. Not fearing the flukes your mass turns back to the host. It has been a while since seizing its tissue for your own. You order your mass to being colonizing the hosts tissue immediately, taking a more aggressive stance. Your mass surges through tissue, careful not to compromise the host but dining heavily on fatty tissue. Something the host seems to have in abundance. You continue to colonize the spine and lower neural tracks. You construct no additional flukes at this time, focusing on finding the hosts organs and infestation. Your presence in the digestive track and neural systems increases. The only activity you sense from your rival is the occasional cough. Your progress is growing well and you feel you can order the mass more efficiently.

We are only able to really observe what is around us, we must boost our ability to study our host, maybe even commune with them in a way that lets us know where and what is wrong.
2 Host rtudy
1 Host reinforce

If the host Dies then all we will have to feed on for the moment is dead flesh and degrading materials.
>>
I say we reinforce the host and help him defeat the flukes. why not become a sort of symbiont ?
I mean the advantages are obvious and we have the building blocks too, fooling the immune system we are part of the host is already in our capacity, and it would allow us easyer access to our hosts memory if he was willing to co operate.

Infecting and taking over our host, reinforcing them and then enforcing demands on then to feed us, carry us around. we'll be like a lazy cat, an angry deadly lazy cat.

>>

>>
Either way it doesn't matter, What we are talking about is miles away.

Lets focus on the vote we have right now.

>>32070421
Thread that got deleted had a host reinforce option, this one doesn't either through oversight or OP deleting it for reasons of his own.
>>
>>32070421
It was on the first iteration of this thread as as option. It seems to have been removed as anything except a write-in
>>
You cannot directly reinforce the host yet. You can only avoid eating sensitive tissue. If you study the host, more options will be available to you. As a fungal parasite the host does not necessarily need to be animate, though a living host may afford you better options. It will come down to your choices, but ultimately. If your mass reduces below the level to maintain your intellect, the game is over.

You decide that beyond seeing the host as food and a vessel to dominate it is a living thing with features and defenses you know nothing about. It would behoove your mass to spend some time testing the flesh of the host. This prompts another new thought, just as you should test the host, should you also not test your mass. It is an ornery thing and when stressed is very difficult to control. Perhaps you should master yourself before mastering another. Curious thoughts today, very unlike your path up till now. You dedicate some minor effort to spreading through the host and converting some of your mass into flukes. With all the effort dedicated to study your mass ceases spreading as well as searching out the garrisons of the immune system.

>DC 5
>QM 99
>Luck Passed

You ping your cells throughout the host, reading the chemical responses, listening to nerves and hormone triggers. A world of biofeedback opens up to your senses, revealing a world of complexity that would drive a lesser mind insane. The host is a complex creature, infinitely so than your own. It is a surprise you didn’t kill the host already. Your cells report many small actions and fixes that it can do that would greatly help the host’s health. A few repair proteins here, some stimulating proteins there and the host’s health is greatly increased.
[Reinforce Host Health Found] – Voting for this increases host health by (+) /(++) on luck.

You turn towards the mass, listening to the symphony of its call, the flow of chemical information, the twitch of mycelium and the contentedness of fed tissue. You gain a feel for the basic instincts of the mass and the way the base cells communicate to each other. In it you find no clue as to your sentience, not that you failed, it just isn’t there. It is almost as if you are separate from the surge and flow of it all, yet you aren't? It is familiar, yet alien. You feel like this is a significant step to understanding the mass and self.

>>
>>32071067
In that vein, we might want to focus on defensive evolutions in the event that we get into one of the sciencebags, as I'm sure they have some countermeasure for us.

Luck Passed
Your shift your thoughts away from the host, continuing to monitor but not fully exploring it anymore. Your instead expand your network further into the spinal column. You can feel new senses from the host flare into your awareness. The pulse of abdominal organs, gurgling and surging digested food from place to place. Thoracic organs pulse as well, revealing a disconcerting fact. The Fluke is heavily infesting the host’s lungs, liver, kidneys and heart, multiplying rapidly. Almost to quickly. It seems the Fluke may have borrowed some of your fungal masses reproductive habits. It also seems to have picked up the nasty habit of eating the wrong tissues. On the fringe of your awareness you are getting close to the host’s cervical nerves and brain stem, controlling facial nerves and the body’s autonomic system.

[Study Fluke] option unlocked.

You redouble some effort into producing fluke forms and reinforcing the host, counteracting the damage the Fluke is doing and then some. You also come across a pocket or two of lymph nodes where you intercept a few macrophages carrying fungal fragment proteins to the major nodes in the throat. Hopefully this will stifle any attempt by the immune system so far.

Your mind turns back to your mass, considering and pondering over the other feeling you have when gazing into the instinctual abyss of your mind. There, for a moment you sensed it, flitting underneath the typhoon of hunger and will you feel a massive presence ripple the waters. It never breaks the surface but it grazes them, sending out small ripples. You watch as the mass responds to these ripples, throwing out sensory proteins and exuding report sequences back. For a moment you can almost touch this presence before something else seizes it and drags it back down. Something equally as large but deeper. Curious.
