/tg/ - Traditional Games

Hello Legonauts, it's Friday night and I have an updated version of Sword and Burner, a rules-light Lego-based game. New additions include the electroprong, transcoder, and some cleaned-up rules for character creation and enemy creation.

I also fixed the jetpack to look like it does in the game, and revised its rules.
>>
So...what Quest will you be running this time?
>>
>>32172929
Well... we can either keep going with the sequel to BLOCKOUT, or get back to space assassins. Depends on what people want, but I would love to finish SX3's story!
>>
>>32173026

Surprise us my good man!

Now where is everyone else I wonder?
>>
>>32173228
It's probably too late to start a game tonight, but I want to play something this weekend at any rate. I mostly just posted this because I just finished working on the revisions.

And lo, Lego Quest did hear the cries of loved ones and promised to run a game tonight.

Also, I have a Twitter thing now, so people can know exactly when a new game starts:

You are SX3, once an assassin for the Empire, now marked for death!

After successfully murdering the Prime Minister of the Circuit-Men, you were suddenly ordered to kill the M-Tron ambassadors at the same location - a task that was to have been your last, for not a moment after you slipped from their suite was it beset by Space Police who seemingly terminated everyone inside!

Now, hunted by the same assassins you trained with from childhood, you seek to lay bare the identity of your mysterious former master, who set you to die so that war might be sparked between the armies of the Circuit-Men and the nomadic clans of the M-Tron!
>>
>>32189720
Yes, yes. This pleases me.
>>
Fleeing the charnal-house ahead of the Space Police, you discovered that though his opposite had been slain, one of the M-Tron ambassadors still lived!

Together with the M-Tron Ionicus, you escaped to New Jerusalem, city of your childhood, from whence you were raised out of orphaned poverty on the dirty street to the ranks of the Empire's most-feared assassins!

In the cantina of your old acquaintance Boston Texas, you discovered that Ionicus had been framed for the murder of the Circuit-Men's Prime Minister by an Empire eager to capitalize on the deaths of the ambassador's people! Hounded by Space Police and whitehats, your situation was grim indeed, when fate cast another your way...

... The ancient warrior Yoren of Futuron! A half-mad derelict, he sought only to be extinguished in a blaze of triumph, and pledged the remainder of his life to your cause!

Together, the three of you journeyed to New Jerusalem's chaotic old town market, where you acquired not only a Benson-model android, but information surrounding your mysterious induction into the order of Imperial assassins!

From veiled words spoken in secrecy, you discovered that High Lord Enir, ruler of New Jerusalem's criminal underworld, had conspired in your youth with the Empire to locate certain orphans for the Imperial troops to ensnare! Armed with this information and your stealth armor, you deftly penetrated the depths of the High Lord's pleasure-palace to force his tongue, only to find that he had been silenced forever by another assassin named Adly - one who had trained alongside yourself and served the Empire as well!

Besting the young upstart, you bid him spend his last breath unraveling his role in this drama, and found that your shadowy master had dispatched Adly in order to ensure you would glean nothing of your origins from the High Lord!

With the trail seemingly gone cold, you and your company fled New Jerusalem for the distant realm of M-Tron, for there you hoped to find a connection between the nomadic clans and whoever might profit from their demise! On and on you pressed through the dismal void of space before finally landing upon the clan-hold of Ionicus's kinsman Dipolus!

Once there, you were welcomed with open arms and refreshed, and your android, victim of a brief encounter with a lone Space Police operative lurking about New Jerusalem's spaceport, was born away to be repaired and reawakened.

In the sparse guest chambers of the clan-hold, Ionicus spoke at length of the ways of his people. Hearing this tale led Yoren to posit that perhaps the cloistered wives of the Clan Lords may be the spur that drives this unseen hand, and a plan was pondered to breach the walls of the harem, though none among you knew where they were kept! Thus stymied, you were soon ushered before Clan Lord Graviticus and his opposite, Clan Lord Photicles!

Graviticus, wracked by constant pain and body half-destroyed from some terrible accident, stood in stark contrast to his vigorous and exuberant opposite as Ionicus recounted for them the events that led you to their clan-hold.

Though both shared leadership's yoke, Photicles spoke for the pair, and decreed that you would witness the well-guarded engineering marvel of the Mag-Drill Platform as a token of their gratitude for returning the hunted Ionicus to safety!

Such a trip revealed itself to be no act of charitable leisure, for at the very height of the MDP's furor one of the operators crept upon Ionicus and swept the beam of a deadly corer at the hapless ambassador! Your skill preserved his life, disarming the assailant as Yoren retrieved the would-be assailant's opposite, and there on the vacuum plain you learned that your deaths had been ordered by Fissicus, personal servant to Clan Lord Photicles!
>>
"Perhaps we should dispense with this pair of dogs," Yoren growls as he holds a steady burner leveled at one of the M-Tron, "And pay the same to their treacherous ilk as we recover our android."

"Spare us, please!" the man cries, as his opposite pleads "We had no choice in the matter!"

"I beg you stay your burner, Yoren," Ionicus intones, "for these are kinsmen to my own, and far from the clan as we are, I fear we may not discover our way back!"

Hey LQ, sadanon from last night here, sorry if I made you feel guilty for not running legoquest last night, I was bummed (still am) about the very real possibility of me losing my job soon, but I wanted to let you know I've been lurking and this+FATAL fecht has cheered me up somewhat.

Also, I support the wormgutting idea.

"I am grateful for the void of air," chuckles Yoren as he slices the beast in twain with his corer. Ionicus proves himself an adequate taskmaster, forcing one of the captive M-Tron guards into the nullipede's intestine while the other is bid to rock it, such to imitate the frantic beating of its great tail!

"Where is your Futuron, outclanner?" Ferron demands. "No matter, you may not enter the chamber of Clan Lords Graviticus and Photicles carrying burner and sword!"
