You are the PRODUCER, a former soldier hired to manage a group of teenage girls on their rise to stardom, assuming they don't get killed in the process!

It was a new day, and you've just picked up a new sponsor, the defense contractor Neucom. In addition to increased monetary support, an extra $1000 for every job completed, what they also promised was access to typically off the market goods exclusively reserved for the military and PMCs. It was all very exciting stuff.

There was also the intel they provided on their investigation over the sabotage attempt at the airshow. You already gave it to Jenner and Himawari to analyze, but you haven't gotten an update from them yet.

Also, Julie and Cole were slightly wounded during the last op. Rochelle for the most part seemed to handle it well, but you should probably make sure. Plus, you want to see how Morgan is fitting in with the other girls.

Then check on the girls.
>>
>>32190826
This is a good point. Although I would do Counselor, Intel, then girls.

Also, can we just ping the shopping catalog, so we can start thinking of what to buy?
>>
Just a hypothetical question here, but how would you feel if we had missions where we got Star Power, and a small reward, but at the cost of having it be a high difficulty?
>>
>>32190863
I rather do the intel last since whenever we do get intel, we immediately go for the mission right away.

I want to consult our girls first and see how they are.
>>
>>32190895
Eh, doesn't have to be that way. We should be able to make time to socialize with our girls.
>>
>>32190863
>>32190895
If we're going to see the counselor, we should do it before checking on the girls.

I figure some advance intel on how the girls are feeling might help us avoid putting our foot too far down our throat when we do talk to them.

A second perspective's always good anyway - an ex-idol might spot some things our jackbooted self could easily miss.
>>
>>32190863

Indeed.

With the intel we'd at least have someyhing to present the girls if they ask for upsates.
>>
So on stuff to do, training for heavy armour?

So we can get them out of ballastics vests?
>>
>>32190686
You decide to go check up on your idols. Dr. Stiles had assured you that both Julie and Cole were absolutely fine and would make a full recovery shortly. However, you wanted to see for yourself. Plus, there were your other idols to worry about as well.

When you reach the dorm level, you see that everything seems to be relatively normal. Rochelle is sitting at the table, looking rather sleepy, which is something you don't see often. She's usually very disciplined when it comes to sleep schedules. Cole, of course, is stuffing her face with hash browns and fried eggs. Must be nice to have a metabolism that required the intake of salty foods.

Melissa and Julie were having yet another arm wrestling contest, which you guess was pretty normal. Morgan, meanwhile, was looking out the window and scribbling things down in her notebook.

Finally, Niko looked to be watching TV while Rin was reading a booklet, no doubt memorizing the lines for her next song.

>Which idol do you talk to first?
>>
>>32190884
Star power is a random thing. Best just leave it be. Besides, we need the money, PR, and XP the more reasonable missions give. Our crew is still rookies after all.
>>
>>32191026

Rochelle.

Darling, did you not get a tood rest?
>>
>>32191026
Rin.
>>
>>32191026
Well, first address the elephant in the room. Rochelle first.
>>
>>32190863

Talking about buying, I think last mission show why getting rochelle a battle rifle without full auto would be a bad idea.

She was still at the forefront, doing breech and clearing. She needs the full auto capability.
>>
>>32191026
Rochelle first something is wrong

Cole seems okay so we can ask her last.

Julie should take it a little easy,

Rin seems to keep herself busy.

Morgan seems to be working on something
>>
>>32191073
Are you talking about Morgan, Rochelle already has an AR.
>>
Been doing some thinking in the long term and came up with this:

How would we handle Producer getting in a horrible accident (or ending up in a coma), and the only way to have him give orders, while his body is being treated, is to Direct Control K-Zwolf until he gets better?
>>
>>32191026
Rochelle.

Everyone came back in one piece. Ya did good, kid.
>>
>>32191026
In this order i guess

>Rochelle since something is clearly wrong

>Julie/Melissa just to make sure Julie doesn't push herself.

>Rin asking her how she's been.

>Morgan, what she's writing

>Niko or Col just general how are they doing.
>>
>>32191101
I just hope that the computer doesn't override Producer's control since K-Zwolf is programmed to follow Rochelle's orders... That has too much potential for perversion.
>Sit! Roll over!
>>
>>32191100

Last thread there was a furrow over buying rochelle a DM rifle
>>
>>32191026
I say check with Rochelle first.
>>
>>32191101
I had a similar dream regarding such a incident though no K-Zwolf but rather who will take over and how will they react.

Another dream or idea I had was a Christmas special.

Though more likely a week after due to Idols having to work through the Holiday season.

The producer is sitting on his desk mulling over ideas for a vacation or gits for his girls having made them work through the holiday season. Though having not a single idea of the teenage girl mind starts reading those magazine regarding how to deal with teenage girls or (daughters) without Lilith or Jenner looking.
>>
>>32191101
It would suck even more when he realizes he doesn't have a HUD, and finds out an idol volunteered to be Direct Controlled or at least have them take turns acting as a host.
This also makes Producer cry due to the idol he's inhabiting writing a note to him about her choice and because he didn't ask for it.
>>
>>32191213
What next they get the idols to work at "Elizabeth's", the famous maid cafe chain?

Also, who would look best in meido?

You decide to check up on Rochelle first. Seeing her tired was not something you usually say, and that was more than a little concerning.

"Hey, Rochelle, are you okay?" You ask. "You look pretty tired."

"Oh! Um," Rochelle bites her lip. "I uh, kinda stayed up all night last night."

"What? Are you okay? Did that last mission affect you?"

"Oh no, it wasn't that!" Rochelle shakes her head. "I was just doing... stuff."

"Stuff?"

"She was totally masturbating." Julie says with a mischievous grin.

"I WAS NOT!" Rochelle's face turns crimson red.

"She was playing online games with her boyfriend all night." Cole says, chewing on a hash brown.

"How did you know?!" Rochelle's voice goes from red to pale in a matter of seconds.

"Oh, I overheard Himawari complaining that you were hogging more bandwidth than usual. I might have accidentally mentioned accidentally frying her computer, so she did a bit of snooping for me."

"You... YOU!" Rochelle points an accusing finger at Cole.

"Hey, I was just looking out for our fearless team leader." Cole shrugs and grins smugly.

"Fine." Rochelle takes a deep breathe and puts on a grin of her own. "How about YOUR boyfriend. Kaneda, was his name?"

"That is nooooooone of your business." Cole glowers.

Actually that was an idea from the Valentine's special, where they try to make chocolate.

All I got was the guy from the airshow showing up which causes Rochelle to spaz out.

...I guess this is where we decide how hard we're going to ride the damn 'pure idol' train.

We should probably check with people who'd know better (Jenner, Lillith, heck, anybody at all) whether idols having boyfriends is going to kill their popularity.

Christ, we trust these girls to handle themselves in combat, we can trust them to handle themselves with guys.

We know it's yes in modern Japan, but this is Delta City. (Last I checked, it was built over the ruins of Detroit.)

Modern Americans, however, LOVE watching their stars fall in and out of love.

It could be either one, and it could even depend on the idol. That's why we need to check with someone who'd know, someone who's not a hired jackboots.

"BOYFRIENDS? Does that mean I have to grab one of my shotguns?" You bellow.

Both Rochelle and Cole blanch and stare at you, jaws open. Well, at least you stopped them arguing.

"I'm joking." You laugh. "But seriously, girls, I think you two should respect each others' privacy. If we want to be a smoothly running idol unit, you all have to be able to trust each other."

Rochelle and Cole then just look at each other awkwardly.

"Um, sorry about nosing in our private shit." Cole mumbles.

"Yeah, sorry for putting you on the spot like that." Rochelle nods.

>>
>>32191519
Eh. I think American 'idols' would have a good chance of being viewed more like teen pop stars (Miley Cyrus, for instance) than they way they're viewed in Japan.

But there's an easy way to figure this one out - ask someone who'd know in our crew. We won't even lose any face - everyone knows we're new to the whole idol scene.
>>
>>32191600
It's true, but there is nothing wrong with asking about their boyfriends. Hell, it's the stereotypical boyfriend question. Just don't get too inquisitive. Also as a producer we probably have to cover this up for the public

Just making sure. That's all.

>>32191527
"So... while we're on the issue of boyfriends." You say, sitting down with a smile on your face. >Your count is now up to 2!

"Well, girls?" You ask.

"Uh, well, we don't even know each others' real names yet." Rochelle mumbles, looking away. "You remember. You saw him during the airshow, right? We've kinda been online rivals for years now."

That was actually kinda sweet, and maybe a bit weird, too.

"How did that happen, anyways?" You ask.

"Ah well, we both play this online flight game. I usually main a F-22C, and I maybe sorta figured out a way to shoot missiles backwards, which you normally can't do in the game. The airshow used the exact same system, and I used the move there, too. I guess that's how he recognized me."

"Uh huh. So, you've just been staying up all night playing games with him?"

"Yeah.... I know I usually do something like that." Rochelle sighs.

"Look, Rochelle, I think it's great you have friends outside the company. But remember to keep it in moderation, all right? I have nothing against you playing games, but not if you're going to be staying up all night."

"Understood, sir."

"And Cole?" You turn to the other idol. "How's Kaneda been doing?"

"What makes you think we-" Cole starts, but stops when she sees your knowing grin and just gives up trying to deny it. "We... message each other occasionally. I tell him about the stuff I do on the job, and he tells me how his bike gang is going. Even sends me pictures, too."

Cole then hold out her cell phone and shows you a picture of Kaneda and some of his underlings posing around their bikes. However, the background, you see some wrecked bikes and the beaten up bodies of what were undoubtedly rival bikers.

This picture seemed more like it should belong in a police evidence server than on a girl's phone.

"That's.... nice."

"You're not going to make us break up with them or anything, will you?" Cole asks. "I've... heard the rumors."

And here... well... you couldn't really see any reason to butt into your idols' personal affairs like that. Not unless doing so posed some sort of huge danger.

"I wouldn't do anything of the sort." You sigh. "Just try not to make a big deal out of it, okay? We already have enough on the job to worry about."

"Da, when I have to live somewhere long term. Can't hurt to be prepared, you know? What if somebody takes a shot at us here? At least I'd be able to get a quick fix on their location."

Agreed. Our business interests don't have much overlap since we're not in the Magical Girl business at all, and Rose has tried to bully us both. They could make for solid allies.

Depends on how much work they do or weight they carry. If they do more, then 2/3 of the pie is acceptable.

"We'll ignore it for now." You say. "I don't think we're in a position to start an idol war."

"That might just embolden them to try again." Jenner warns.

"I'm not saying we won't do anything. We'll increase security for all jobs that take place in District Two from now on." You say with determination. "If they come for us again, well, then we'll pull out all the stops."

"You're the Producer." Jenner nods. "Anyways, there's another bit of business to attend to."

"Yes?" You ask.

"The Boss has been in contact with Hyperion and Neucom, and they've agreed to jointly fund an expansion to our office building. We have 7 idols right now, and we'll need an 8th to round out a full roster. I'm sure you've noticed that we're starting to push the limits of what this small building can provide."

"That's great!" You smile. "When will it happen?"

"They're refitting an old Hyperion facility, so it should be ready to move in in a week or two."

"Nice."

"Also, that means we would have the space to support an 8th idol." Jenner continues. "If you feel we need one, of course."

We have common interest in taking down the Rosa group and we fulfill different niches. That's good enough.

>>32194560
Honestly, enough for them to work with us. The main goal is the neutralize the Rosa group from being a threat, then we can focus on the pure entertainment and not on girls-killing-girls.

I kinda want to form a co-op of smaller idol groups. Create a coalition to protect ourselves from the big fish. The goal of the co-op is to provide collective security for it's members, and to focus on the entertainment business once a completely violence-free industry is established. We're in the money business, not the thinly veiled PMC business.

At the current rate of business expansion, we're need more idols sooner. Preferably a combat idol again to increase our security.

Can we also get in contact with that Magical Girl group? Maybe we can come to a mutual security arrangement with them to increase our combined combat power?
>>
>>32194666
We're pretty well set on combat, we should get another performance idol for a solid trio.
>>
>>32194631
>The more, the merrier
I think we can take it slow, looking for our last combat idol. We'll want to really, really look for someone who will fit with the team and fulfill a need.
>>
>>32194666
>>32194684
Combat, since Niko and Rin are our main Performance idols,

We do a lot more battle operations anyway. Not to mention we're going to face against Rose entertainment.

I prefer Medic or Infiltrator
>>
>>32194684
What's the difference between the last three?

If possible, I would like to get a heavy weapons girl. Focused on heavy machine guns and rockets to provide covering fire and area denial.
>>
>>32194684
>>32194721
Actually, how much do combat drones cost? K-Zwolf has most definitely been one of our most effective members of our group?
>>
>>32194724
I'm not so sure about the rockets (due to K-Zwolf accidentally hitting that car), but the MG sounds good.
>>
>>32194724
I thought Melissa was the heavy weapons girl due to her Augs.
>>
>>32194718
I like this general idea. Even if we end up getting a performer the same idea should apply.
>>
>>32194724
>heavy machine gun

We already have a LMG on Melissa, rockets is overkill on 90% of stuff we do. What we could use is a Demogirl or a Medic depending on how we want to set the squad up as.

More attack or well rounded.
>>
>>32194770
How about a performance idol with supplementary medical skills?
We probably should have more actual performers and getting someone who can bandage people in the field shouldn't be too terribly hard either from a scouting or training perspective
>>
>>32194783
To add if you really want some bloody heavy weapons tell Merc to let us buy some damn Mastiffs.
>>
>>32194799
Then their skills will be weaker, and performance idols don't fight, I rather not have a performance idol with some first aid skills to be in combat situations
>>
>>32194810
You know we could use them for moving around stage equipment and what not when they're not doing combat stuff...
>>
>>32194747
Rockets are an invaluable tool. Much better to have them than to need them and not have them.

I brainstormed maybe a flamethrower to clear out indoor fighting?

>>32194763
I thought so too, but she has a really high melee combat skill.

>>32194718
>>32194770
I disagree, we are still in the very early stages of our company, and we need rapid expansion to handle both jobs and security for jobs. Better to grow fast now so when we need more idols, we already have experienced idols at hand. Training idols to be experienced is the slowest part.

>>32194783

>>

It might be hard to find a girl willing/able to work in the field if she is a performer.

"Well, the more the merrier." You shrug. "Do we have candidates?"

"Well, thanks to our increased exposure, and our sponsors, we do have quite a pool of applicants now." Jenner says. "I'll show the most promising ones."

I explained before:
>We have common interest in taking down the Rosa group and we fulfill different niches. That's good enough.

Also someone else said:
>Agreed. Our business interests don't have much overlap since we're not in the Magical Girl business at all, and Rose has tried to bully us both. They could make for solid allies.
>>
>>32195267
Additionally, since Cole's ability is keyed to her Int, I figured she would eventually surpass most of the others if we could train it in any sort of active way.
>>
>>32195320
However, the Magical Girl group has no past we know of that they were bullied.

Also just because their niche they still have places or districts they will like to maintain
>>
>>32195331
Remember Rose did try to hire us to go after them.

I imagine he didn't stop his plans just because we didn't agree. (Or pussy footed around it, whatever)
>>
>>32195348
Did he, we disagreed, we just did it that way to be polite
>>
>>32195320
They would be good, albeit transient allies. We would need to wait until they thought of DeRosaas a legitimate threat however, unless we can diplomance.

Otherwise, I doubt they wouldn't lend their idols for a real attack on DeRosa unless we offered sever concessions/bribes.
>>
>>32195331
Rose tried to hire us to gank them. How do you not remember that?
>>
>>32195367
>http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/archive/30865036/#p30866559

Is where he wanted to hire us.

Then we went said 'i'll talk to boss because i'm too much of a bitch to decide for myself even though that's what I'm hired for.'
>>
>>32195331
>However, the Magical Girl group has no past we know of that they were bullied.
True, but if we work together we stand a chance of taking down a big fish like Rosa.

>Also just because their niche they still have places or districts they will like to maintain
Then for this we share access for district 2. Give them preferred access if they want it. Long term security means we either find a way to control Rosa, or dismantle it.

>>32195369
Well in the idol business, there are no true allies. But it's important to see opportunities to take down big threats once they appear, and we should take advantage of this window while we can.

Access to distract 2 is a big prize. At least between the 2 groups it's enough to share for the short term once DeRosa is dealt with.

"Hey Stig, what's up?" You ask as you come down to the garage.

Stig just looks at you, and then back to the SUV.

"What Mr. 'I don't feel like talking' is trying to say here is that something is up with this SUV." You see Falynn poke her head out one of the windows. "There's a lot of nonstandard parts."

"Like?"

"Well, this isn't exactly like the old SUV. This is a Neucom brand one." Falynn shrugs. "It has a much more efficient armor design so it has equivalent protection with less weight. There are also a bunch of other small improvements, but there's this one component that's got me and Stig stumped."

"Show it me." You narrow your eyes.

Falynn pops the engine open, and the three of you look inside, and Stig points to one little section. There, you can see a empty spot in the compartment, as if a chunk of the engine was missing.

"What's supposed to be there?" You ask.

Stig just shrugs.

"That's the thing. Neither of us knows." Falynn frowns. "It doesn't seem vital to operating the vehicle, though. Stig put it through its paces and tested it in every driving scenario. It works perfectly fine."

"Any ideas?"

"Well..." Falynn sighs. "I found connection ports in the empty section. From what I've seen, it's probably some kind of digital component. What it does, I have no damn clue."

"Would Himawari know?"

"She can try, but she wants your okay first." Falynn says. "You know how megacorp proprietary tech works. Try and mess with it, and bad things happen."

No.
Shame and failure.
>>
>>32195861
Well she isn't a NEET any more so... I am a gonna go with off-brand Herbal Essence and cloths worn for a couple of days.
>>

You think that the smell of shame and failure will ever go away? Anon, you have much to learn.

"Hmmmmm..." Himawari narrows her eyes. "HMMMMMM."

"What's all this hmmming about?" You raise an eyebrow.

"Well, I think I figured out what was supposed to be in here." Himawari says. "Some kind of AI control module."

"Don't most cars already have an autodrive function?" You ask.

"Well, yes." Himawari nods. "But that's just basic programming. They follow a set list of instructions based on GPS and built in road sensors. The second you take them off the grid, they're pretty much useless."

"And this is different?"

"I suspect, it's something involving true autonomous driving." Himawari says. "Looks like Neucom is really confident in that research, if they're already building the functionality into their vehicles."

"Huh, well thanks, Himawari." You say.

Well, what do you know. There are more and more surprises every day.

>And that's it for tonight! I was hoping to get to shopping today, but it's already rather late. We'll handle next week, then! I'll be running the continuation of Fallschirmjager Witches on Sunday, and Gundam Build Fighters on Friday. Don't miss them!
>>
>>32195922
Can you post the catalog anyways, then we can discuss it now and finally decide next time?
>>
>>32195922

Thanks for running Merc!
>>
>>32195922
Really?

I was hoping to get some missions to pick out though before we ended.

Well it's already 5am in my time though
>>
>>32195922
Haha. The anon who said he wouldn't get to go shopping was right!

Thanks for running Merc!

You should totally run this on Sundays after finishing up with Witches.
>>
>>32195922
>>32195970
I agree, we can probably get more done at least for the summer
>>
>>32195986
It would be nice. Shit I would even be happy with this and GBF switching off every other week for the Sunday spot.

This is, however, the first of Merc's quests that I followed so...
>>
>>32195922

Could we get the shopping list first please?
>>
At some point someone needs to rig an image of the characters and their avatars.
I keep forgetting what they look like ;_;
>>
For those who were asking, here is the updated shop list.

So will we ever see these 'numerous attachments' for the M55 AR?

All we've seen is the shotgun one...

Would like to underslung grenade launcher or well anything really.
>>
>>32196371

That vtol.

We could really use one.

What do you folks think of 1k to upgrade jenner's personal car with improved engines and armour?
>>
Merc, our passenger van had already been uparmoured right? So would you kindly put it in the pastebin if it has been, so we don't uparmour it again

>>32196535
Ask Jenner. It's her car.
