You are Gertrude Pool, Sophomore Class President and new commander of Lafayette Girls Academy’s revived Tankery Team.

Much to Fairless’ frustration, you decided to cook breakfast for her today. She insisted that since you were a guest, she’d do it, but looking at how she woke up today you’re kind of glad she’s not cooking.

Her hair is completely frazzled, her eyes are bloodshot and bagged with exhaustion, and her fingers twitch a bit as she quietly eats your pancakes.

Boy. She must not have had a nice night.

“I did not have a nice night,” says Fairless.

“Clearly,” you say. “But good on you for quitting smoking, Bernadette!” You grin, giving her a thumbs up. “I’m proud of you!”

Fairless glares at you, still angrily chewing on her pancakes.

“Oh, don’t look at me like that,” you say.

Fairless sighs, continuing to eat slowly.

You say, “Come on, tough guy.” You tousle Fairless’ hair a bit as she rests her head on the table. “I’ll help you get through this if it kills me.”

“Please,” says Fairless. “Just let me die right now.”

You sigh, then pull out your cellphone.

>> CALLING NANCY

“Hey, Nancy.”

“Oh, Gertrude. Are you not at home?”

“Nah, I’m at Fairless’ place. In fact, I’m going to take the day off, get some tank repairs in before practice if that’s fine.”

“That’s quite alright, Gertrude! We’ll look after things for you, alright?”

“Righto, thanks Nancy.”

You hang up, sighing. Vacation day your ass. You look over at Fairless, sleeping soundly on the table, pancakes unfinished. Poor girl. You’re guessing she’s taking the day off for today.

You carry Fairless to the couch and tuck her in with a spare sheet hanging around, then leave some leftovers for her in the microwave. Much as you’d like for her to help you, she’s probably a bit of a lost cause for now, at least in the morning.

But you’ve got some place to be right now.

You pack your things and head out of Fairless’ dorm, only to meet the Senior Staff.

Henrietta says, “Oh, morning Gertrude.” She and Andrea tilt their heads, smirking smugly. “I see you’ve been staying over with Fairless again.”

You shrug. “What of it?”

“Ooooohhhh…. You know…” Henrietta clasps her hands behind her back, looking around innocently. “Just… you two seem pretty close now, you’re even staying at each other’s places.”

Claire says, “That don’t mean-“

You say, “I should ask you and Andrea the same question Henrietta. But since you’re here, I’ve decided to come draft you guys to help me fix the tanks.”

“But I don’t wanna!” says Henrietta.

“Yeah,” says Andrea. “You can’t force us- OW!” You tug on Andrea’s ear with your free hand. “Let go let go let go!”

Claire says, “Well, y’all just got volunteered then. I don’t feel sorry for you.”

“You mind coming along, Claire?” you ask.

“Eh, sure. Beats school I suppose.” Claire crosses her arms. “Sure, let’s go.”

“So, Claire. How long have you known these two idiots.”

“Since Allegheny, Pennsylvania for nearly twenty years. We went to the same elementary school, middle school, and now we’re on LGA.”

“So where’s Fairless?” asks Claire. “She sick or something?”

“She’s quitting smoking cold turkey, I don’t imagine it’s good for her,” you say.

“Oh, I warned her about it. Apparently she’s replaced her nicotine cravings for masturbating and sunflower seeds. I told her about Pavlovian response.”

“Pav… what?”

Claire shrugs at that. “I don’t claim to understand much in the way of the psychological sciences and what not, but she’s going to get wet at the scent of nicotine I guarantee. She’s needs something healthier to keep the urges down.”

Andrea says, “Like you.” She’s flicked on the forehead by Claire. “Ow!”

“But, regardless, I declare that Fairless does mean well.” She crosses her arm. “But boy, she’s gonna need some serious guns to keep cold turkey.”

You arrive at the shop’s warehouse to find all of your tanks. Only a few token ones are left to be fixed. Huxley is working on them at the moment.

“Oh.” Andrea and Henrietta frown. Andrea says, “That’s disappointing.”

“What were we going to do?” asks Henrietta. “It’s not like we could be fucking Soloman and just split him in half. We’d both want a half.”

“True,” says Andrea. “True. Oh, he’s walking over, play it cool.”

“The Panther chassis, the M4A3, and the Type 97 are the last few ones that need repairing,” he says. “We work hard, we can get this done by practice if you’d believe it.”

> Work on the Sherman

You, Claire, Henrietta and Andrea elect to work on the Sherman. Henrietta and Andrea had to be dragged and kicking though, but at least they’re now helping you.

“Right,” you say. “Now this Sherman’s HVSS is a bit heavier but it’s sturdier and thus a little easier to fix. Now, we just have to replace the bogies and the wheels that should be easy enough and we can get into the engines.”

Henrietta and Andrea sigh, then start picking up the road wheels. At least they’re working. You ask, “Say, how come Claire looks a bit mad?”

Henrietta says, “Claire always looks mad. If you hung out with us for more than a day you’d look that way too.”

Claire says, “I’ve lost about ten years of my life with those two. Save yourself, Gertrude, honestly.”

You sigh, then roll up your sleeves and start working hard on getting the suspension fixed. You kneel down and start wrenching the burnt out roadwheels out.

Andrea says, “But seriously Gertrude. Is there something going on between you and Fairless? It’s not every day that girl actually brings home a friend.”

“Fucking hell, Henrietta,” says Andrea as she picks up a wrench roadwheel.

Claire says, “Can you two just start working already? The poles will have receded at the rate we’re doing this.”

With that encouragement, you replace the suspension in little under an hour. That just left the engine for the Sherman. Huxley himself has also finished off the mean repairs for the Panther chassis on his own and is start working on the Type 97.

“Well, Panther chassis I haven’t worked out what to convert it into yet, there’s also the Chaffee, the Cromwell, and the Type 97.”

“I say-“ Henrietta stands up from fitting the engine into place. “-We use the American tank!”

Andrea nods. “I agree. America!”

They slap hands. “FUCK YEAH!”

So much PATRIOTISM but yeah. You say, “That’s neat of you guys to be enthusiastic. What about you, Claire?”

Claire shrugs. “Put me in whatever you’d like. Just as long as it doesn’t break down on us, I’d hate to have to fix a tank again and again and again.”

You all look down the warehouse rows to see Kitten walking. “Hey, Trudy!” says Kitten. She holds up a bag of Chick-Fil-A. “Brought you some lunch.”

From what you can tell, it seems like the tankettes are not exactly tank killers. In fact, the only tank there that has any chance of surviving a head on fight with your tanks is the 105 Semovente. Even then, the chances are quite slim. Especially with your King Tiger. If you’re going into a practice match with these guys, it ought to be a curb stomp.

Kitten sits down next to you. “You okay?”

“Dandy,” you say. “Maybe you should have phoned ahead about lunch.”

“Of course,” says Kitten. “Glad to see you’re working though, I’ll be here if you need me.”

“Aw, I can’t ask that of you,” says you.

“No no,” says Kitten. “I should help you.” She glances towards Fairless, who’s leaning on the Sherman, chewing on some sunflower seeds and playing with silly-putty in her hands. “Also, what the hell is up with Fairless?”

“I’m helping her quit smoking,” you say.

“Oh, is that hard?” asks Kitten.

You sit up, wiping your mouth. “Well, Kittycat. I believe in Fairless. Yes, it is hard for her but I do believe that she can quit this if she were to say lock herself in her room for a couple of days with nothing but sunflower seeds and James Deen porn.”

Kitten nods, smiling. “Groovy. That’s cool of her, hope she pulls through then.”

With that, you return to work on the Sherman. The six of you manage to get the engine in and get the tank running very quickly, and all that’s left now is the Chi-Ha.

Huxley says, “It’s an interesting thing having girls help me out.”

You ask, “Why’s that?”

He points to Henrietta and Andrea, leaning over on the engine block, kicking their legs in the air and letting skirts billow. Fairless and Kitten also work with cleaning out the gun, their skirts loosely shaking as they move. Claire meanwhile ratchets in the new commander’s hatch, her skirt riding up a little and exposing her white panties.

Huxley says, “Guess.”

You yawn a bit as you fit the new driver hatch onto the Chi-Ha. Kitten and Fairless are still chimney sweeping the barrel of the gun, and one bad look could expose themselves to you.

You look up. Kitten’s wearing her usual pretty pink panties. Fairless is wearing black panties.

You look back down. That’s the thing men teach you. It’s the ability to glance, but not stare.

Generally, it’s common sense not to stare anyway but hell, it works when you want to drive a car. Not that you can drive a car anyway.

But after a good half hour of working, the Chi-Ha and by extension all the tanks, are done.

You all sit atop the Chi-Ha, resting a bit. You check the time.

Henrietta says, “I want popsicles.”

Claire says, “You’re not getting popsicles.”

Andrea says, “But we want popsicles.”

“I don’t give a shit if you want a kidney,” says Claire. “You ain’t getting it.”

There’s about a half hour before practice starts, you could certainly go get popsicles.

You stop by the drug store, say hello to Mr. Nguyen, and get yourself some nice popsicles to eat.

Claire says, “This is stupid. Who eats popsicles in the winter?” All of you step out into the cold parking lot to have a bit of your popsicles. You start licking at your own. It’s purple flavored.

Henrietta says, “Me and Andrea do.” She looks over at Fairless, who’s unwrapping her orange popsicle. “And apparently Fairless.”

Fairless shrugs, licking at her popsicle.

“Hey, Fairless, you’re doing it wrong,” says Andrea. Fairless looks at her, to which Andrea flinches. “Just saying. You gotta do it sexily.”

Fairless narrows her eyes. “Sexily.”

“Yeah!” says Henrietta. She slowly pops the popsicle in her mouth, thrusting it in and out like so. “Like this. Maybe brush your hair back a little, give it a bit of tongue action.”

Fairless looks at her popsicle, then at you guys. To that, she sighs, then slowly brings the popsicle into her mouth.

All of you watch in awe as Fairless suckles on the ice pop, its juices staining her lips as she slides it in and out of her mouth. It drips a bit of colored juice onto her blouse as she pulls it out and starts licking it at. Just the tip first, she dances her tongue around it, then slowly she edges around the entire shaft of the ice pop. She brushes a few locks of her back, then slides the popsicle back in, and back out with a loud “pop” noise, then slides it back in.

Then she bites down on it, hard.

“Ow! Fuck!” Henrietta and Andrea flinch. Claire laughs a little as you and Kitten stand there, dumbstruck. Henrietta says, “Fucking hell, I felt that.”

You arrive at the Tankery HQ. So far, the rebuilding efforts have managed to repair most of the HQ. You walk inside to some Naval Studies Engineering students working hard and delivering materials to the second floor. There are noises of hammered nails and drills working. You meet your crews in the rebuilt lounge.

“Hey guys,” you say. “Lovely seeing you all.”

They all greet you excitedly.

“Alright, for all you new people, welcome to your new tanks!” says Joanna.

The Juniors have elected to take the Cromwell while the Seniors as well take up the Chaffee. All of you set up in a line at the usual field to practice in. “Alright,” you say. “Everyone, get ready to go. Betty, are you guys ready?”

“Hold on!” says Jane. “The shaft is really stiff!”

“That’s what she said.” Henrietta and Andrea laugh and guffaw over the radio.

“There!” says Jane. The Cromwell immediately races backward. “Okay, maybe not,” says Jane.

You say, “Claire, what about you?”

“I can’t even make heads or tails of this driving system,” says Claire.

You sigh. You were there for a while, but once Joanna managed to solve everyone’s problems, you all raced out onto the field. She actually borrowed Lutz’s Panzer I to help her weave in and out of the formation to help correct mistakes. Usually by ramming them. But they more or less get it into their heads just about immediately.

“Alright, and fire when ready!” you say.

The tank rumbles as Nancy fires a shot from the 76mm. You check the target range, 1,000 meters. “That’s a hit,” you say.

“Yay!” Nancy claps. Ramirez quickly loads in a new round while Lisa and Kitten play around on their phones.

You ask, “How’s everyone else doing?”

The crews so far are still doing relatively well in their gunnery. The only ones who have issues now are the new crews, the Juniors and the Seniors. The Juniors in particular seem keen to rotate the entire tank rather just rotate the turret in order to hit the target. The Seniors meanwhile don’t really hit anything because they can’t seem to adjust their gun sights for long-distance shots.

“We’re hitting too low!” says Claire.

“I know!” says Henrietta. “Hang on, hang on! The bitch’s gun isn’t as long as the other ones.”

Is that really conducive for learning with new crews around though?

If the class reverts back to basics for the benefit of the new girls, the veterans will just be bored out of their wits from the redundant lesson.

Segregating and teaching in shifts might be more efficient than the current model. All crews don't necessarily have to occupy the same space at the same time.

We got 16 crews in need of teaching and 5 Aces that can facilitate that.
Split half of them for the field practice, while the other half does class work, then do vice versa for the next half of the training session.
Two Aces can supervise each group.

>>
> Take a Break

You all stand atop your tank as you watch the latest loader competition. Wendy has excused herself from the competition, thus allowing there to be actual competition. But regardless, what’s going down is certainly something for the ages. What is the competition you may ask?

It’s to see who can hold a 15cm shell the longest. So far, Ramirez is winning, but Dory who actually handles those kinds of rounds and Megan who handles something closer to it are well behind her. Everyone else struggles to just pick it up, let alone hold it for more than five seconds.

Nancy says, “It’s so exciting! Everyone’s in high spirits!”

“Well, we did make an excellent comeback after Fredendall burned the place down,” says Lisa. “I’d be in high spirits too.”

That’s why when you’re mobility killed in a fight-” She makes a slitting motion across her neck. “You’re basically fucked. Especially if the turret is not electrically powered independently of the engine like the Sherman is.”

Cathy says, “So how do you approach situations with maneuvers?”

“Simple,” says Joanna. “When you’re coming at a tank head on, you should be coming at an angle, about 3-5 degrees to give your frontal armor more effective thickness. On one-v-one situations, you can increase that for a wider flanking maneuver. And lastly, you should try and hit the tracks. Especially if you’re up against a German heavy. German heavies are not great at turret traverse.”

Michelle says, “Well maybe if you gave the turret more revs it would be.” The class laughs a little at that.

“Ahaha, very funny, Michelle!” says Joanna. “But, let’s get back down to business.”

Kitten leans in next to you, whispering, “You think we’ll be good against Pravda?”

Problem is that its easy to go right round the thing.

“Of course,” you say. “They ain’t nothing but a bunch of dirty commies anyway.”

Joanna continues her lecture right into Command Theory. “And basically, coordination of a team is important. Where a team maneuvers is vital to the success of the battle. Whether they’re patrolling the outskirts of the playing field, whether they’re in the thick of things, you always have to consider the issue of how to get there.”

Anna raises her hand, “So what’s the best way to maneuver?”

“Simple,” says Joanna. “For one that’s a very vague question Anna, another thing it’s simple in that it really depends on you and the Driver. Maneuvering isn’t just getting to one place to another, it’s an art.”

Wendy says, “My ass.”

“It’s an art in that you have to figure out the best route all within your head,” says Joanna. “And maybe with a map and a compass.”

With that, Joanna ends practice.

But there's the problem. Any situation where it would work well to deny an area of value is reasonably one where the opponent would deploy a large amount of forces because they want it too and it gets blown to bits.

If it were an area of not so much value, an open area or similar, then it gets ignored because the gun is too small to be a genuinely serious threat.

There are ways to amend this situation but while the ability is useful, it's not overpowered by any stretch.

The showers were expanded a bit to allow some extra room, but you’ve noticed that it’s actually become a bit crowded now with all these young naked girls of varying legal ages in the United States. Fairless herself is a bit peeved at the fact that everyone is admiring her body, but nobody is actually coming to talk to her. So you decide to break the ice.

“Hey, Bernadette,” you say. “Enjoy practice?”

Bernadette nods. “It was cool. Henrietta and Andrea are certainly filling out their roles.”

Henrietta walks over, smiling. “Yeah, that 75mm is great! Kinda wish we could upgrade to a bigger gun though, can the Chaffee hold anything bigger?”

You say, “Not anything that’s legal.”

“D’oh,” says Henrietta.

Betty walks over as well. “I enjoyed practice too! Firing that gun was really…” She blushes a little, sighing. “It was really something!”

You ask, “Hey, Betty. I noticed you were actually rotating the entire tank instead of the turret to lock onto targets. What’s up with that?”

“What’s a turret?” asks Betty.

Hm. That would explain that. But regardless, you spend the rest of shower time shooting the shit, and soon you’re all fresh and ready to go wherever you wish.

The only thing it lack is a turret but it excels in it's role very well.

Junior team uses a turreted tank as a casemate and the 100mm Caliber gun had more penetrating power and range then the 57mm, I think it is a good choice.

We still kind of need the Chi-Ha until we up gun the Somua though

You and Kitten walk into her dorm, taking off bras and stretching the day away. “Boy!” says Kitten. “I’ll tell you something, Gertrude. You don’t need to sleep with me every night.”

You pout. “But then I wouldn’t be with you, Kitten!”

“D’aw.” Kitten kisses you on the cheek. “Stop it, you’re making me blush.”

You roll your eyes. “Whatever, nerd.”

“But seriously.” Kitten zips down her skirt and kicks it off, then unbuttons her blouse. “What’s with you and Fairless? I mean, you two have only really known each other for like a month at least and you’re already buddy buddy?”

You smirk. “Jealous?”

Kitten raises her hands in defense. “Curious.”

Seriously, this is how I see it. This is also how I see with Kitten but then it shifted into something more.

I don't think she has any friends, other than us.

True, but even the most social person wants time to herself, at one point or another.

I just mostly want to see what we can do when we're alone

> “I like making friends.”
Besides, it's rather unfair for Fairless to be judged only based on what people see.
Isn't that almost the same situation with Gertrude, Kitten and Eugene in their childhood?

And regarding a possible chance to Solid Snake into Konigsberg's school ship.
>“Oh come on, guys,” you say. “I can’t do it!”
>“Why can’t you?” asks Henrietta.
>“Because they’d recognize me!” you say.

It's a good thing that we have a master of disguise on her way to join us.
Ah, who am I kidding? This will end in tears.
Of laughter.

Trudy and Kitten? True.
I mean, they do stuff together that would make /u/ blush, basically everything short of actually kissing, but there's still an air of non-romance (for lack of a better term) around them. Actual, close friendship.
But so close to the edge that one little push and bam.

What could go wrong?
>>
>>32210537
Or they're just good friends with mutual boundry issues.
>>
>>32210537
It's more of Trude being in denial. Kitten seems to be on the level on the romance side. It's like she is waiting for Trude to come to terms with her sexuality more.
>>
>>32210537
And /u/ is trying to do so with a bulldozer and it's disgusting. Not the relationship itself but the whole hammering.

I enjoy the tank debates more then this type of arguments
>>
>>32210565
A bike you drive on water.

Well considering the only friends in Middle School were her and Eugine, up until the first year in LGA, I will assume so
>>
> “I like making friends.”
> “I see a person in need of help.”

You shrug. “I tell you what, Kitten. I like making friends, and I like helping people. Fairless is someone that needed my help.”

Kitten rolls her eyes, smiling. “Figures, that’s what I love about you, Trudy. You’re always willing to put your own ass on the line for someone who even looks like they might need help.”

You chuckle a bit as Kitten takes off your skirt and your socks for you. “Hmph. Call me old fashioned I suppose.”

“Ah, we need more of that,” says Kitten. “That good old fashioned American spirit. The kind that inspires people to help each other you know. Still, Fairless of all people.”

You smirk, crossing your arms at her. “Jelly?”

“No…” says Kitten. “… a little but I accept-“

Oh god your sides please no come back

“Trudy, please.”

no

Kitten blushes, grinning. “Oh, come on. I am jealous! Honestly!” She rests her head on your knees, pouting. “I don’t get to spend much time with you that way!”

/u/ as I am, I too am disgusted by the bulldozing most other /u/boaters here do. But I have some faith in Schteel that he won't compromise his integirty and go full on /u/ in the canon quest.

Thank you, I feel like I was the only one.

I enjoy the cute girl doing cute things, but to force romance not even just true but for every single character gets a little tiring
>>
>>32210537
>But so close to the edge that one little push and bam.

That's so ridiculously cliched, and I'm pretty annoyed with the /u/-boats deciding that Trude and Kitten were destined to be together from the first damned thread. The bitchfit that was thrown over Eugene didn't exactly help my attitude toward that ship, either.

Fairless is at least a lot more interesting than moe-moe-Kitten-chan. And if we're going to wind up in /u/ territory, I'd rather go with the option that doesn't reduce every close female friendship to shipping fodder.

That's...sound like Trude is leaving Kitten.
>>
> All of the above

You smile. “Sorry, Kitten.” You run your hand through Kitten’s hair. She rests her head on your thighs, giggling as you finger and tousle her silky smooth hair, a far cry from the greasy mess it used to be in August. No, this isn’t the Kitten you’re quite used to. “Tell you what though, get to know her, Kitten. We can all start doing things together, the three of us!”

Kitten pouts. “But I want you all for myself.”

“Oh, we’re having a conflict of philosophy there then my little Kittycat.” You pull her up onto the bed, lying her down and bringing the covers over the both of you. “Listen, you need more friends, Kitten.”

“I have plenty of friends,” she says. You almost laugh, but goddamn it, that’s actually kind of true.

“Doesn’t mean you can’t have more,” you say. Kitten’s quiet at that, contemplative, but then she rests her head on your shoulder, shutting her eyes.

Ah, Kitten.

“Good night, Trudy.”

“Good night, my sunshine!” you say in most cheerily corny voice. You tug on her cheek a little, causing her to squeak a bit and turn over in bed.

You sigh, time for sleep.

> END DAY

Honestly, I feel we're having a slight revert when we did the whole play.

People wanted her to focus on Trude where in fact, she had people relying on her and focus and trust those who gave her the part and do it for herself and others.

She's focusing back on Trude again, not as bad as before but I'm starting to notice a difference

KlK a shit, I've been lied to. It didn't save anime, it didn't even do a damn thing in the end.

why would anime need saving? I'm fine with what I'm watching.
>>
>>32210989
Not really?

She's hanging out with Charlotte in the hobby shop and with Nancy for yoga out of her own volition, without Trudy needing to drag her along, for one thing.

Only a matter of time until her friendship expands further without having Trudy be the intermediary. Her classmate in radio operations who's also a Reading/Writing club member, for example.

True, but I haven't seem much improvement since then other then chaorlotte.
Again for us it's been months but for them it's was like one month ago?

I kind of get it but it should be another step to her doing this on her own
