This is the legend of a man who would take up the sword to defend his home. A strong and powerful youth by the name of Azreal has awakened you, the essence of the Triforce of Power. The forces of evil have gathered together in the lands beyond the maps to work their foul trickery. A war band of moblins was sent on Azreal’s home village in the quiet valley to sow destruction, and capture a blonde human.

Azreal took the fight to them harrying them with fire and the help of a skull kid deep in the woods, but he could only delay the inevitable, as the war band of moblins breached through the forest and into his village. They attacked with fire and axe, destroying everything they could. Even as the villagers resisted to let the women and children flee, the sun set, and doom was certain. A Twilight Beast of great power momentarily crossed the threshold to the real world, extinguishing the fires that beleaguered the moblins, and allowing their assault.

Azreal had fallen to his knees in despair, watching his younger brother empty his quiver from atop the mill, and his father fight back against the moblins with all the glory of a former knight. “We have lost everything… what the hell am I supposed to do?”

Third's pretty good. I'm lucky to get second to last.

God damn, I love that picture so much.

Well, I was gong to hold out for a third suggestion, but I don't have all night. Time to get writing.

Yeah, I was trying to come up with something more than mine here >>32295930
but I needed to catch up on the other 4 quests I'm apparently participating in tonight.

Do you know how many I expected? Maybe 2 tops. The hell?

I know, right? It's downright insane. And on a Thursday, no less.

"Yeah, they have to be after him. I can't protect the entire village, but I can still thwart them somewhat. But... they may just keep pursuing us until they get him," Azreal says as he gets back to his feet, dragging the head of his axe along the ground. "It would probably be safer if we just left him behind, or maybe I take him somewhere else. The villagers will probably make a run for The Wolf Fort. Two thousand blins wouldn't be able to breach those walls... well, that big thing probably could but I don't know."

>>32295695
"We'll see, but first I have to get the brat. I should probably get Naomi first too. Not exactly the victorious hero, but a savior is a pretty good role to play I suppose. Shame about that pie though; I was really looking forward that," he grumbles as he starts putting one foot in front of the another. Slowly he starts to speed up, before he’s all out sprinting towards the mill, leaping over fences and dodging between startled livestock.

He sets his eyes on his brother, ignoring the fight on the hill. “Come on! Get down here brat! We have to get out of here! Now!” he shouts as the tide begins to turn for his father. Azreal’s father clearly hasn’t fought a serious battle in years, except maybe in training his son, and only old traces of form still remain in his heavyset body. His armor is good and strong, but the men around him are just farmers.

The kid jumps down from the top of the water mill without a word, as the big blin stomps out of the woods.

They're looking for your brother. If you get their attention, and ride as fast as you can, you might be able to get them away from the village.

Sorry! I forgot how much that annoys me as well. Gundam Build Fighters Quest. Merc said he should be running sometime soon (TM).

>>32296509
"Goddesses damn. If you can, try to get to Naomi's house and get out of here. But, you will likely have to fight this guy in order to escape.

"Yeah, yeah, that might be a good idea. Drag their forces apart, pick them off as I can. Guerilla tactics, I can do that. I can win like that. But it'll be hard to protect people while fighting," Azreal says as his brother despondently holds up his empty quiver. "Alright, look," he says as he kneels down next to the kid. "Take this," he presses the hunting knife into the blonde kid's hand. "Go get us that stud the Jones' bought a few years back."

"The one that broke Mr. Jones' leg when he tried to ride it?"

"Can you think of another horse that can carry the both of us? I have to get you the hell out of here and fast," Azreal explains, pointing at a nearby barn that the blins have yet to plunder. The men on the hill held off more than it had seemed.

"Why me?"

"Because they're looking for you for some reason," Azreal says, getting back to his feet.

"But I'm nothing special."

"Doesn't mean I can explain it. Now go get that damn horse. I'll keep them off you," Azreal declares, hefting the axe in his hands.

"Please," his brother mumbles. "You gotta help dad. He can't do this alone..."

Azreal grits his teeth and groans. "Just go get the horse."

>>32296584
"Yeah, I gotta go get her before I leave. But I have to take the fight to them now. I have an axe, I can take my share."

"Yeah, yeah I can do this. A small band of them are running away, easy prey," Azreal says as his brother runs off to the barn and he walks around the edge of the mill. He sticks his hand in his mouth, twisting his tongue in that arcane manner to whistle loud enough to wake the dead. The blins see and he waves them over. His father sees as well, distracting him as the war leader charges up to him. But a knight is still a knight, and he won't be caught off guard.

>9 Fight Good
Hearts : 2

The pig creatures start running towards him, cackling in anger and likely cursing him for killing their comrades. Fear should have taken hold of them if they were beings of good, but creatures of evil seldom flee into the night if they can yet have blood.

The first to challenge him has but a sword and a shield, but the wood is rotten and splinters apart beneath Azreal's strikes. The other two blins move to flank him as he finishes off their over eager friend, prodding at him with spears until the finally catch his leg when he closes the distance. Azreal cleaves one's head off in a single stroke despite the injury, and impales the other on the fallen spear. He's a vicious fighter and the shadows seem to bath around him, clinging to him like the grasping dead.

"See? This is why I wanted a fairy, what good are you to heal me in the middle of a fight?" Azreal asks as he wipes the sweat from his brow. The full moon is out, but the night grows darker with every blin slain. "Father!" he roars as he watches the big blin power through his father's defenses and send the man flying.

"Oh, that is a rip off. Why would they do that?"

>>32297741
"Please? You think I'll fall with my father at my side?" Azreal asks before he starts running up the hill. All the men of the village have fallen or fled for their own lives by now. Only Azreal's father remains standing, and several arrows are sticking out of his chest plate. Azreal is gripping his axe tight, too tight for proper combat but it'll be a hell of a hit.

>10 Dynamic Entry!

>>32298013
"Don't got a latern any more, but the knees I can do!" he shouts as he he runs under the creatures arm. The blin mumbles something in surprise, but your wielder is fast. Too fast for the lumbering monster to react, and the head of the axe bites into the back of the blin's knee as if it were a tree trunk.

The blin howls in pain and blindly kicks backwards, spinning around on its good leg to swipe at the boy, but Azreal springs free himself and dives under the massive club to roll to his feet next to his father. He grins and stands up, puffing his chest out for his father.

"What are you doing? This battle is hopeless you buffoon!" his father shouts as the blin limps back around to glower at them. "Flee here at once! Take your brother and your girlfriend and go!"

"She's not my girlfriend and I can't just leave you!" Azreal shouts before his father's mailed fist slams into his jaw.

"Get out of here!"

>...
>>
>>32298120
>Why would they do that
"Simple, really. A fairy uses a lot of energy when it heals a person. It can really only do it once, at which point they have to return to a fountain to regain their power."

"Your father is right. This isn't a fight that can be won. You, and the other two need to escape. Don't let him sacrifice himself in vain."
>>
>>32298120
"Neither of you are going anywhere until you get rid of the big blin. Double-team him, your dad can keep its attention while you come around to get its other knee. Then the both of you flee."

I wouldn't chance it.
>>
>>32298235
"No, I can do this. I'm a man grown and can prove myself!"

>>32298251
"I'll have to run eventually, but they'll just come after us if I do nothing. This guy is going down," Azreal says as he rolls his shoulders and takes the axe in both hands.

"So the coward has come back then?" the big blin asks as he shakes his injured leg. Azreal’s father hadn’t fought without success as well. Numerous sword wounds cover the monster’s shoulders and elbows, despite the black armor. “Small people like you like to work together, right? Well, that’s foine by meh,” the blin says as he starts stripping off his damaged armor. “Let’s have some fun,” he says, hefting the club over his head.

>7 Close encounter

Azreal ducks his head and lunges forward. The blin doesn’t even move back, the strain on his knee obviously great. Rather than try to dodge, the blin just swings down for the counter attack, and Azreal doesn’t see it in time. “You stupid fool!” Azreal’s father roars, and the kid looks up just in time. He pulls his swing, still slicing through part of the blins knee, but he gets his feet under him again.

The club is fast though, and if his father didn’t step forward and throw him away, the blow would have crushed him rather than just bash into his shoulder and blow the joint out. Azreal shouts in pain, but his father remains stoic, and it takes a moment for your wielder to realize that his father’s arm is snapped backwards.

>>32298622
"Boy, Nayru would be screaming at you to run for your life right now. But, if you must, do your best to get behind it. He's not going to want to move his knees much, what with the pain, so it's much safer that way."

"Where is that brat with the horse anyways? Even if I could drag my father away, it would be hopeless. The village has been destroyed, and they'll be coming for us. Have to settle this now..." Azreal says as he gets back to his feet, dropping his injured arm away from the axe.

"You've gotten strong son, but you're still foolish," his father says as he lifts up the sword in his good arm. "I'll give you the oppurtunity, and you run like hell. Don't mourn for me, this is a better death than I ever thought I'd have after I watched your mother die of illness," his father says as the blin chuckles.

"Fiesty little things the two of you are. What are you going to do with one arm? Pinch me to death?" the blin asks.

>>32298759

>13 Dismemberment

"Hmph." His father smiles. "The one with one arm," he says as Azreal takes the cue and dashes behind the blin. The creature growls and tries to swing at your wielder, but his father lunges forward. "Is you!" he roars as both he and his son cleave down. The blin is too distracted by Azreal’s attack, trying to defend his legs, and doesn’t account for his father. The edge of the sword bites into the blin’s arm, shearing through the flesh and straight through the bone.

The monster bellows in pain as Azreal’s axe cleaves apart the tendons in the back of his knee, dropping it to the ground. The beast hits the bloody dirt, hardly able to move at all. The surrounding moblins are all terrified, too scared to appraoch, and Azreal manages to retreat to his father's side before the big blin throws back his head. “The hounds!” the blin roars as he grabs at the stump of his arm, spilling shadow over the ground “Just release the hounds already!”

“Az! Run!” his father shouts as chains begin to rattle and moblins squeal in fear.

"No, he won't die, he can't die. But I'm not sticking around. What good's a fighter with one arm anyways?" Azreal says as he starts backing away from the fight.

"Go Az, get out of here and protect the villagers," his father commands, and he finally turns his back on the fight, tears streaming down his face as soon as his father can't see, but his father knows, and smiles.

"Over here!" the blonde kid shouts as moblins start organizing on the edge of the forest. Th ey loose arrows after him, but their crude branch bows have no accuracy at this distance. "That was amazing! But is Dad going to be alright?"

"He'll be fine Link, we just have to get out of here," Azreal says as he grabs onto the saddle of the massive, black horse, and jumps on. When the hounds start howling together, the horse rears up and tries to knock the two of them off, but the brat easily keeps control of the wild animal. "Go now," Azreal commands as he reaches around his brother to snap the reins. "Where's Naomi?"

"I don't know, I never saw her leave her home," Link responds.

"Maybe she left in the beginning..." Azreal says before two screams shake him to the core.

His father screaming in pain.

And Naomi screaming for help, on the far far side of the valley.

The only thing I can think of is this:
When Az is speaking to us, you say he says whatever it is that he's replying with. I assume that he doesn't say it aloud, but, this makes reading with him replying to us, and talking to someone else awkward to read. Maybe use another verb for it? I don't know.

Other than that, keep up the good work. I love your writing.

By the way, pretty soon you're going to have to start speccing Azreal for success. I can adapt anything you want from the 1d4chan page, any build is legal.
