You are Gertrude Pool, Sophomore Class President and new commander of Lafayette Girls Academy’s revived Tankery Team.

Some time was spent getting everything together at the airport. Mostly customs, other things as well. But the most important thing though was where you would be staying.

Nancy, unfortunately, couldn’t find a hotel that could board all of you on such short notice, however the International Tankery League did provide for you a neat little home away from home some miles near the battlefield.

Unfortunately, it’s a campsite.

Blanketed by snow.

In Australia.

Cathy says, “Why is there even snow? It’s Australia, it should be summer here!”

You sigh. Your tanks are bound to arrive soon at least. But, you have to pick yourself out a tent.

What's this about romance, Sctheel? I missed the few last threads and haven't had time to catch up yet, so I'm out of the loop.

I said that there wouldn't be romance in the Quest and now I'm kind of regretting it.

Would like to hear thoughts about it, I try to tailor the Quest to player's wants.
>>
>>32353900
Yeah, I don't mind the IRC existing but unlike QTG/threads/twitter there is no record of what's being said, so it's not very suitable for something like this.
>>

I rather not have romance, so far it has caused a lot of grief not since now but even during the whole homecoming fiasco, Cute girls doing cute things is fine but this is getting out of hand
>>
>>32353920
Well like we've said before Schteel, you're gonna have people cursing your name/crying of joy (perhaps slightly exaggerated) no matter what you go with, and it's not like people can't samefag incessantly on both sides to look like they're in the majority anyway. I would love some romance as long as it didn't dominate the threads and was slow burn, I'm sure some anons would hate it/wants the quest to be about it.
>>
>>32353920

Ah, I see. That's kinda sad, but I coudl lvie with it. THough I do prefer to ahve at least some of it, you know...more plot hooks and sweet content.

Of course, there are always the casual one night stands instead of romance.
>>
>>32353820
>> Commander’s Tent
>>
>>32353920
I'd rather you did add it, but keep it in the background like it currently has been.

>>32353952
>so far it has caused a lot of grief
its only caused grief to those arguing for no reason

>Cute girls doing cute things is fine but this is getting out of hand
whats getting out of hand is how unrealistic the relationships are getting with every single thread GS doing his best to avoid all traces of romantic development which just makes the sexual tension in the air annoying.

I don't see any reason why not to have it when its not going to be the focus of the quest and take awaay from cute girls driving tanks
>>
>>32353957
I got no problem with 'Trude helping other people with their romances, but she has way too much on her plate for her own relationships.
>>
>>32353920
I like the no romance stance and I'd really like to avoid the associated drama, but it is your quest man, if you want to write dates and love triangles, that is your call.
>>
>>32353920
my thoughts are

>>32353957
>I would love some romance as long as it didn't dominate the threads and was slow burn
this, like things have been progressing, nice and natural and organic, yet not detracting from TONKS
>>
>>32353920
just make sure if you add in romance to not have it take center stage and this is coming from someone that wants it
>>
>>32353920
Well you've waffled on it either way, really.

As has been addressed, looking for a consensus or solution that leaves everyone happy is impossible here., and you probably won't find a majority given people can just post post post. But I'll ask you this: what exactly would change if you included some romance, compared to what you're doing now? With all the /u/ fanservice/lewd discussions you include already, simply exchanging some or most of that 'screentime' as it were for actual romance scenes would leave the same amount of tankery, while satisfying yurifags more.

While there are still other arguments against it, I just can't see how either the 'takes up time' or especially the oft-repeated 'doesn't fit the quest' arguments have to be problems. I mean, does it really fit the quest less than talking about masturbation or nude painting shenanigans or whatever?
>>
>>32353920
>>32353957
This anon has a point in regards to that people will hate you or love you. I do not want romance since I fear people will focus on that rather then the important things, like saving the school and tanks or at least put as a secondary concern in order to satisfy characters they want to see romanced.

The teasing the last couple of threads did not help in this case at all and probably aggravated the situation.
>>
My thoughts on romance then will finalize at the end of the thread. I'm leaning towards having it but leaving it as a secondary thing. In the background until the last few threads so to speak.

> Commander’s Tent

You walk into the Commander’s tent. It’s actually bigger than your dorm, there’s a neat little cot for you to sleep, a table with maps of the battle area, an area to cook food, there’s even a shower for what it’s worth considering that it’s still chilly as fuck. You start unpacking your things.

You pull out your Grandad’s binoculars. Funny, you’ve been using these for quite some time now. They work, for sure. And yet, sometimes you forget you even have them. Quite the item though, makes you kind of wish you had known him. The man of Monte Cassino. You place them gingerly down on your cot.

Kitten pokes her head in. “Shit, this place is huge!”

You shrug. “It’s yours if you want it.”

“Hmph,” Kitten smiles. “Nancy is making us some breakfast. I’d recommend you change or something.”

You look down. It has been quite a while since you switched out this uniform.

I'm good with implied romance, so long as no bullshit is done and it's done well. Personally, though, I think it'd be best for any "payoffs" to come in the epilogue and that it doesn't necessarily need to be set in stone. If anyone wants to do more romantic things, it can be saved for write-ups.

One of the things that annoyed me about Blackjack's quest is that when players were choosing between Yukari and Miho, Blackjack made it clear that they needed to make a choice and that choice would be forever. It's almost like they were getting married forever, and that casual dating isn't a thing at all. Jeez.
>>
>>32354079
>I'm leaning towards having it but leaving it as a secondary thing. In the background until the last few threads so to speak.
please do, I really want to see it in the quest but not have it detract from anything else, Trude's blueballs are getting to be as big as a schoolship

> Casual clothing
>>
>>32353920
I'd like it as long as you just used the updates and writing you already give to /u/fanservice and the like for it instead of infringing on tankery stuff. But I'm an unrepentant /u/-fag so large bias here.

I don't think even the yurifags really want it as a primary focus, after all if they're still reading the quest then they like the other parts too right? I know the yurifag in me would have dropped it ages ago, yet the tankfag persists. Whichever way you go, it's nice of you to have an open discussion of your own views at least.

I'm a blatant /u/fag and I'd be happy if the time we spent playing gay chicken with kitten merely turned into gay funtimes and not have any romance bits eat into other aspects of the quest

> Put on the Tankery Uniform

You decide on a warm pair of pantyhose to keep your ass from freezing in this environment. You check around the place first. Nothing to note, no scorpions, no bulldog ants, no drop bears, no box jellyfish nor koalas or kangaroos either. You’re in the clear. You press down the jacket of your uniform and head out, trenchcoat around your shoulders.

Your crews all gather around as Nancy and the Juniors, minus Marilyn, cook off some breakfast for everyone.

Marilyn says, “But I can cook!”

Betty says, “I’m sorry, Marilyn. You can’t.”

“I can!” says Marilyn. “I am a woman of the highest caliber! Why, Julia Child would praise my skills.”

Betty says, “Marilyn, the last time you cooked, we had a fourth member of the Council. Please.”

Nancy hands you a plate of pancakes with some strips of bacon and a bit of scrambled eggs. Your crews are sitting around fires and the like.

Assam asks, “Why don’t we get the Churchill?”

“Occupied,” you say.

Alisa says, “The Shermans-“

They all huff, except for Izumi.

“I don’t see why you’re all so sad!” says Izumi. “The Chi-Ha is an excellent tank.”

Nezumi says, “Yeah, and I’m Nishizumi Maho, funny joke, San-san.”

The tank prep and slice of life sessions are pretty segregated from one another. If anything, the slice of life would lean romance.

Before law few sessions, I was more than happy with the slice of life characterization, but I think recent events would make it a bit of cop out to sideline it entirely until the end
>>
>>32354735
Imo, the best thing he can do is, at the end of relevant days, have a fade to black thing, as well as various cute hijinks for a few threads until people get over it in the setting. Maybe an ftb scene mid-day, but no real substance. That way, it's present, consistent, and given significantly LESS focus than the real reason we're here. Tonks

You nod. “Sure. I mean, I’ve never been in a T-34 but I assume it’s a neat tank considering they built more of them than the Sherman per say.”

Izumi says, “That’s because they were dirt cheap.”

Nezumi nodded. “Agreed. You don’t get quality with quantity.”

Assam says, “Now girls. The T-34 helped birth the Tiger and the Panther.”

“But-“ Nezumi groaned a bit. “Ugh! She’s right! Schiesse!”

You laugh a bit at that. “Didn’t know that myself.”

Alisa crosses her arms. “Well, 50,000 Shermans were built, and we sure got quality with quantity I would daresay, Nezumi-san!”

“How about you take your ronsons and shove them up your ass!” says Nezumi as she angrily chews on her pancakes.

You all end up in the Commander’s tent. “So, what’s up.”

Lisa, Ramirez, and Kitten look particularly serious about this as they sit on your cot. Nancy herself looks uncharacteristically stern. She says, “Gertrude, we’ve been thinking on this.”

Lisa says, “About the issue of the school shutting down.”

You cross your arms. “Oh?”

Nancy says, “We have to tell them.”

“No, we don’t,” says Lisa. “If we tell them, that’ll just put undue pressure on them, they won’t play at their best. Better to just let it lie and hope we make it through.”

Nancy says, “But if we don’t tell them, who knows what they might do out there! I mean, I have no doubt in our abilities against Pravda but, the next team in particular. And either Ooarai or Kursk Girls. That’s… that’s a tall order.”

Lisa stands up. “Nancy, the only people who know about this are the Aces and the Councils. They know what’s at stake. The Aces in particular as well.”

“But…” Nancy frowns. “It’s a sin to lie! Even by silence!”

We say nothing. If we start letting people know, they start talking. Word gets around. Other teams find out. How would you feel taking a shot at a flag tank knowing if you hit, that other school is gone, and if you miss, you've let your own team down.

Nobody needs that pressure.

Besides, I don't even want to think about the look on everybody's, and I mean EVERYBODY IN LGA, everybody's face before each match. The pressure, the fear, and worst of all, the resentment if we fail.

If nobody else knows, the can have this last year. And the people who get blamed are the people who decided to close LGA, not a group of girls who lost at sports.

You cross your arms, frowning. “Ramirez, you’ve been quiet on issues like this. I honestly can’t remember the last time you ever talked at length. What’s your opinion?”

Ramirez stands up. “My opinion is this. We should tell them, but not now. Not even after our match with Pravda. We wait until before the final match and then tell them. That way, we don’t lie to anyone by silence, and hopefully our crews will be a bit more loyal to us after the matches we’ve played. Nobody likes the pressure, and some crews will surely leave if we let them know what’s up.” She sits back down. “That’s just my two cents.”

Lisa points to Ramirez. “I’ll go with her on that.”

Nancy sighs, rubbing at her temples. “I mean… whatever is fine with you, Gertrude.”

“So, Dory, how are all of our tanks?”

Dory points to the recently converted M4A4. “The Magician’s M4A4 got turned into a Firefly before we left. As for the cold weather stuff, we’ve got anti-freeze. Wendy’s been helpful too with winterproofing a lot of the tanks too. The StuG’s grousers got replaced with Winterketten for now.”

Wendy walks up to you, pointing at the Panther. “We got the Schurzen on there too. The sideskirts should give it an edge over high explosive rounds. We also hung the tracks on the side of the turret for additional armor. Improvised but it’ll do.”

You nod. “Alright. What else is there?”

“The engines have been improved for a couple of tanks,” says Dory. “Hopefully, none of them breakdown in the snow or get tracked. Replacing the tracks in this kind of snow is going to be a nightmare.”

Wendy nods. “Even with an experienced crew, it could take over half an hour to replace tracks in these kinds of conditions. So if you get tracked, you’re basically done for.”

Dory nods. “Yeah, not feeling confident considering we don’t have a turret.”

“Alright, guys,” you say. “How are all four years of LGA doing?”

The Seniors say, “Ready if you need us!”

Betty says, “We’re eager to get out there!”

Cathy says, “We’ll do what we can!” She snaps her finger. “We’re young and old together, we shall not be moved…” All of you look at her. “You know, we shall not be moved? Pete Seeger?”

Fairless shrugs. “Anyway, Gertrude. We’re ready for the match.”

“Well,” you say. “It’s fifteen tanks here and we have eighteen crews. I think some people might have to be left behind.”

“Oh,” says Betty. “Well, that’s a shame.”

You nod. “Of course. But no need to rain on your parades. Have Dory brief you and everyone else on the weather and what to do to keep your tanks running on this snow, alright?”

They all nod.

With that, you hear something arriving. Roar of an engine. Accordions.

Russians.

All of you gather at the campsite entrance to see T-34s roll up. Their crews pop out of the hatches, and Katyusha and Nonna march up to you, determined as the Russian winter of folklore.

Nancy says, “She’s so tiny.”

“Quiet,” you say.

Katyusha and Nonna stop, looking around.

Katyusha laughs. “Haha! What sick man send babies to fight Katyusha!”

Katyusha yells, “Nonna!” To that, Nonna picks Katyusha up and sets her on her shoulders. Katyusha says, “Hmph! What do you say to this, comrade? I have the high ground!”

Motherfucker you’re not going to be beaten by that. “Ramirez!” you say.

Ramirez lifts you up and sets you on her shoulders. Fucking A BITCH. “How about that?” you say.

Katyusha puffs her cheeks out, then turns to the gigantic KV-2. “Nina! NINA!” A cute little girl wearing an ushanka pops out of the hatch. Katyusha yells at her in Russian, to which Nina sighs. She drops down from the KV-2 and soon, she is sitting on Nonna’s shoulders, with Katyusha riding on top of you.

Katyusha steadies herself on the leaning tower of Communism. “Now who is the boss!?”

“NANCY! NANCY!”

Nancy and Ramirez lift you up by the feet by hand. You steady yourself as Fairless and Kitten spot you. “Ha!” You barely edge out over Katyusha in height. “Don’t forget! It was the United States that reached the moon first! By default, ALL AMERICANS ARE TALLER THAN YOU!”

Katyusha fumes, puffing her cheeks out. “Uwaaaa! Suka blyat! I am the Great Swirling Snow Katyusha!” she shakes her fists in childish anger. “I will not be made out like a child!”

You shake a bit as Nancy and Ramirez almost lose their grip. Man, you should’ve been a cheerleader.

But regardless, after a minute of gloating, you’re put down ground level. Except for Katyusha, who simply settles for Nonna as a sort of a maker-taller-person thing.

“Hmph,” she says. “I underestimated you, American. You have guts! Too bad we will have to rip them out of you!”

Nancy smiles nervously. “Well, good luck then?”

“The Great Katyusha does not need luck!” says Katyusha. “From your line up, I can see you need luck!”

You cross your arms. “Hmph. Did you come all this way to trashtalk us?”

“It is tradition, yes!” says Katyusha. “If you like, just try and find a flaw with our glorious line up!” She gestures towards all of her tanks. T-34s, SUs of all types, the KV-1s and the KV-2, and the IS-2. Impressive. “We’ll bury you under our tracks!”

“Hey, whose flag is that on the Moon?” you say. Katyusha is quiet. “Ours, motherfucker! USA! USA! USA!”

All of your crewmembers get on it. “USA! USA! USA!” The Pravda High School girls look bemused, while Katyusha tries her hardest not to look defeated.

> + 5 MORALE ACROSS ALL CREWS

Katyusha says, “Alright, alright!” The chanting quiets down. “Hmph. American, you are quite persistent, I admire that.” She looks down on you. “This is like our chance meeting at the Elbe River in the tail end of the Great Patriotic War!” She smirks. “We look forward to our fight with you.”

You nod. “You too. Good luck in the match, Katyusha.”

With that, Katyusha and the Pravda girls return to their tanks. They drive away into the dust of the snowdrifts.

Jesus fucking Christ it’s cold in the tank what were you thinking.

Ah well, you’ve made your decision. You settle into the gunner’s seat, finding some rest against a rack of shells as you eat lunch. A little bit of hot sausages, some meatloaf, and some leafy greens. Nothing special, but Nancy’s cooking keeps you going.

You sigh. Nancy’s cooking. When you first had it, it was heavenly. It still is.

Kitten opens up the hatch. “Trudy, what are you doing in there?”

You say, “Having lunch. I’m being one with the tank!”

“And for my next trick!” Weiss pulls out a deck of cards. “Pick a card, any card.”

The other commanders have gotten wise to Erika’s trick. She does one thing when in reality she’s got something else behind her sleeve. They all glance at each other, knowing, then nod. Cathy pulls out a card, a three of spades. She memorizes it, then sticks it back into the deck at Weiss’ command.

Weiss shuffles the deck a bit, then sticks it into her pocket. “Alright then!” she says.

“Was that the trick?” asked Samantha.

“Oh, this is what I call my long con,” she says. “It’ll come!”

Dales says, “Better come soon. And not out of anyone’s asses.”

You say, “Charlotte had a general idea of an assault, big one. All of our tanks even on one side to try and force them into a tight corner.”

Kate nods. “If they’re smart, they’ll keep both chokepoints covered.”

“Right,” you say. “We could go either the left or the right way. Right way is narrower which may mean less tanks to deal with, but it’s also hilly which means we might get bogged down.”

Kate says, “And the left side is the open field. Pravda will have the long range masters like the IS-2 out there. Lighter tanks will be cut down, our heavies might have a chance.”

You nod. “Right. Any ideas?”

Samantha says, “Well, we have the big assault guns like Stupa and the Japanese tank if we’re using it. We can shell their positions.”

“They’ll be kilometers away,” you say. “Plus, with the blizzard, the left field may not be as flat as expected. They might hide tanks in the snowdrifts.”

“That’s a possibility,” says Kate.

Nezumi says, “Question!” You all look at her. “This is a big team for fifteen on fifteen. Who is going to be left behind?”

I think we should bring in at least one of the new teams, particular the Exchange students so they can learn to work together under-fire and then we have the Student Councils fighting in the 3-on-3 match.
Though for who to leave out, maybe whoever's tank would operate like shit in this environment. Dory was already lamenting the lack of turret, would her team be viable to exchange out for the Foreign Exchange team?
>>
>>32358101
Here's what will happen Ekins match. Each of our newbie teams gets an ace to command it. Michelle takes commander of one, Wendy another, Joanna the third. Wendy and joannaMs tanks get creamed, as do two of the others. Michelle, knowing Ekins is in the last tank, doesn't take the shot, chocking. Afterwards, Ekin's tells Michelle off for NOT taking the shot. Her symbol for trigger discipline chewing her out about giving up the win. Thus, she gets jarred out of her emoness, in an effort to make her commander, new and old, proud.

Thusly, all of the teams gather together, some standing outside of the tent due to a bit of overcrowding. You, Lisa, and the Officers stand by a board of the map. “Alright, Lisa. What do you got?”

Lisa says, “Simple. Basic offense, basic defense. Charlotte also has the bright idea of a full scale assault but we can go into that later. For offense, we split into two equally, one team will have the flag tank. We work our through the chokepoints and that’ll be game.

“Defense is the same thing, we hold our points, and once we find a weakness in their lines, we gun it.”

“Or, we could just blitz the entire thing. What do you suppose?”

Assault through the open area.

A small force of our lighter tanks stay in ambush positions near our position to catch any attempt to fall on our rear.

Other light tanks can travel behind the screen of heavy tanks in the assault.
>>
>>32358608
> Blitz
Seize that hill in the middle. Not for the height advantage because it's not high at all but because it's the fastest route between the valley on the right and the left.

We know Katyusha likes baiting. If we over commit to one side then she'll let us push forward while the other half of her team come through the middle and flank us.

Defending will just end up with us being shot like fish in a barrel.
>>
>>32358608
>Offense
But charge ONE chokepoint. Too dangerous to split the forces, and if they did, they are done.
>>
>>32358608
Attrition. Gather everyone up near the southern choke-point. Set up a defence from either side right there. The flag tank will go north along the edge of the map with a heavy and the souma as guardians. Essentially, we just sit on our asses until they run out of tanks to throw at us.

Due to reduced visibility, we should take into consideration the fact that our long-range units might not be as effective, so we shoud plant them someplace where they can do an overwatch AFTER identifying via radio whether it is a foe or a friendly. From there, just camo our tanks and be ready to kill.
>>
>>32358608
> Offense
If we get too agressive, we play into their fighting style. Advance in good order. Be ready for ambushers.
>>
Poor Schteel.

>>32358725
To reinforce my point, if we let Katyusha take the plateau in the middle then she can lay down fire on any position she likes. In particular, anywhere along the south-eastern valley.

Oh and it'll be child's play to spot our flag tank from up there too.
>>
>>32358774
I like this. We can set up tanks on either side of the chokepoint, and the reduced visibility will keep their heavier guns from disrupting our killzone. If they come in force, we meet them head on, and if not we ambush them.
>>
>>32358888
Is that hill climbable? I says 200m along one of the lines.
Hell, I can't even tell which is our start point or what the damn thing is.
>>
>>32358958
Yes. Easily.

Don't read numbers on topography, instead see how close the lines are to each other. The closer they are, the steeper the hill is.

On our map, there are two locations that are climbable, that to the NorthEast and the SouthWest.
>>
>>32358958
Uh... yes. Hold on, let me draw something.
>>
> Blitz
> Offense

You say, “I like the idea of offense. I know Pravda is well-known for defensive play, but I think we can win with a straight up assault. Either on one side or both.”

“We can decide that later,” says Lisa. “Right now, we should focus on assignments. Now that I think about it, it may be that time to organize the team into Squads to make things a bit easier.”

Nancy nods. “We can actually do that now. A squad led by an Officer.” She smiles a bit. “It may even promote inter-crew relationships!”

Lisa sighs. “Of course. We’ll divide into Squads of Five then. Three squads for this match, First Squad, Second Squad, and Third Squad.” She looks over at you. “You want I should organize or do you have any idea of how we should organize this?”

It is climable but it looks like the only good climbing position is in the middle.

That honestly is abit of a dangerous chokepoint from which we have to emerge while likely being underfire from their tanks.

If we're climbing the southwestern slope, we'll be doing so under the guns of pravda's heavies. That place is heavily exposed.

All right, if I understand this map right there are several paths that can access that hill. The two I have marked with question marks I'm unsure if they have too steep of a slope to climb, or if they're wide enough to go through.
>>
>>32359032
I don't really think we need 3 squads for the match, given we're just slamming through the front door with absolutely everything.

That said, Fast tanks in one squad with us, main battle line with Kate and a reserve with Charlotte.

>>32359092
Both locations are equally exposed. The NorthEast is equidistant from both our start locations, approximately, and if both teams go that way then there will be a battle there too.

Don't look at this from just our viewpoint, see what Katyusha is thinking too. Assuming she also wants the hill, and she might, she knows seizing it will put her in sight of OUR guns. She could of course hold back and just shoot us on our way up but if we can get up there then we have a commanding position.
>>
Oh I think I know where we're fighting now.

You bastard, Schteel. We're fighting at Mount Kosciousko.

“We’ll do it like this. I’ll take the fast tanks and the Animation club. Charlotte, you’ll take Cathy, Keegan, Juliette, and Weiss. Kate, you’re on deck with the rest.”

Lisa nods. “Alright. Another thing. Despite the chokepoints, the hill that separates them is in fact climbable. So, I imagine we need a team to get up there and secure it as fast as they can. Gertrude, since you have the fast tanks, I think you can do it.”

“Sure,” you say. “That sounds fair.”

“And once we hold the hill,” says Lisa. “We can pretty much shoot down at them at our leisure. Charlotte will hold back until things are secure and otherwise good. Kate will support you by taking to the field while you, Gertrude, you’ll go for the hill.”

You nod. “Sound plan.”

Okay, Heavy Tanks go along the low ground where they won't struggle up hill

Medium Tanks with best power to weight go up the hill immediately and establish a foothold on the plateau and try to push them off.

Panther, TDs and the rest of the Mediums go up less steep path and provide fire support to the Heavy Tanks.

Light Tanks take the long way around, either run a fighting retreat if they're advancing along that path, or strike along the flanks. Reason I'm not sending them straight up the mountain is because it's a given they'll beat us up, sending Scouts up to confirm what is inevitable is pointless.

Fastest tank, up the hill and watch the north. If no one challenges you, keep watching that northern passage. We don't want a snowball from behind.

Just one thing. Send, oh I don't know, Keegan, to scout the Western valley. Not to advance but keep an eye out.
>>
>>32359552

Our light tanks are mostly tds, we'll have a good firing location against the full platuea.
>>

That'd be Bearcat. I'm also worried about Pravda getting up there first using the maybe passable routes to the north.
>>
>>32359623
When I mean Light Tanks, I mean the Somua, M18, and Chaffee. The fast ones.
Their armor isn't strong enough to hold the Plateau and the Chaffee and Somua's guns aren't that great against the T-34.
>>
>>32359679
By the time they make it through the pass (assuming they make it past whatever ambush they have set up there), the fight would be mostly over. They're better off getting to the fight fast and buying everyone else time.

“I figure Keegan moves to that little hill right there, where north meets south. And our fastest tank climbing the hill which oughta be Barkas, you guys go forward watch north if no one challenges. If someone does, fall back to us.”

Barkas nods. “Alright.”

“Right,” says Lisa. “That concludes our strategy meet then.” She checks the time. “Jeez. Let’s have some dinner.”

With that, you all exit out of the tent and get started on dinner. Nancy brings out things like spaghetti and meatballs, hot coffee and chocolate, burgers and fries, the whole nine. It’s going to be a heck of a match tomorrow.

Depends on how high the gradient is. Worst thing that can happen is that they send rounds through the LFP as you're cresting and the whole attack is bogged down by wrecks in the way.

The guy above does have a point when he advocates sending the light tanks onto the Plateau immediately, it seems like the best way to establish a foothold because their tanks will beat our tanks up there.

Tables are set up outside as you all dig into your meals. The crews eat and chat with each other, eager to get into the action tomorrow. You can see the Seniors regaling the Freshmen with tales of their exploits from previous years. The Rifle team show pictures of the weapons they have to the Naval Studies merchant team. The Magicians entertain the Girl Scouts with another fancy trick.

It’s all coming together nicely.

You sit around with your crew, Kitten next to you as you dig into your meal. “I think everyone’s looking forward to the action,” you say.

Everyone quiets down, listening to you.

“Alright, this is our uh… third match in the tournament I believe. We have some new faces with us, and I’d like to welcome them. They may be sitting out today’s match but we hope they will come to learn from us.” Everyone applauds politely. “Alright, alright. Now, another thing. Well… I don’t mean to preach, so I’ll make this short. We have to win.

“We’re all out here to have fun, some of us are here because of that. Others are here because I helped you and you felt like returning the favor. No matter what though, we are a team! Everyone cheers, whistling and applauding you.

Yeah, but they'll get onto the Plateau before us. They'll have a better firing position before us. Which is why they can't see us come up, or we're done.

That Plateau is where most of the battle will be. The IS-2 being the only Heavy tank they have means that they'll go for the high ground for an advantage over our Heavies.

Mamie says, “Yeah. Ross might not have the penetration to take on T-34s but we’ll do our best to make sure you know they’re there.”

“Thanks,” you say. “Otherwise, anything new with you guys?”

“Well!” Anna giggles a bit. “I was thinking on a new outfit for the Fashion show. Something a little risqué.”

“How risqué? Because even though most of us are 16, that’s not legal in most states,” you say.

“Oh, maybe just swimsuits, perhaps leotards,” says Anna.

Bess says, “We’ll probably scrap that though, I don’t imagine our models will be up to it.”

“Shame really,” says Anna. “But one can dream. Otherwise, it’ll be Panzer dresses!”

Little change really. I'd hope she's a little nervous, just means she takes it seriously.

Something about that strikes me as odd from the $ point of view, but I'm not nearly clever enough to pinpoint it.

Anyway, that approves the Super Hellcat and other oddities such as the M36B1 (Jackson turret, M4A3 hull, 90mm) and the T78 (Jackson turret, Chaffee hull, 90mm)

You take Kitten in a deep hug. She giggles a bit, returning it.

“You can bunk with me tonight, Kitten, wouldn’t mind it,” you say.

“Sure,” says Kitten. “Sure.”

With that, you and Kitten end up in each other’s arms, in the cot. You wrap the somewhat scratchy blanket around the two of you. Kitten sighs, nuzzling your shoulder. “You know, Trudy. I’ve been thinking.”

“Hm?” you ask.

“I was looking back on some of the photos from Freshmen year, from Middle School,” she says. Kitten smiles. “I’ve changed so much. You changed so much.”

You sigh, poking some hair out of her face. “We all change from Middle School. That’s what happens. We just have to hope it’s for the better, you know?”

Kitten nods. “Yeah.” She shuts her eyes, resting her head on the pillow. “Yeah, I suppose.”

“Get some sleep,” you say.

“Alright,” says Kitten. “Can you do something for me though?”

“What is it?”

“Can you sing for me?” she asks.

You smile, sighing.

You are my sunshine, my only sunshine,
You make me happy, when skies are grey,
You’ll never know, dear, how much I love you,
Please don’t take my sunshine away

That's it for today. Unfortunately I will not return Friday, busy. So Pravda will be relegated to Saturday at 3 PM EST.

Thanks for staying, see you next time. I think I'll keep any romance (if it happens) in the background for now rather than have it distract from the Quest. Hopefully we've come to a good understanding.

More barb trading between kitten and fairless is good for some spice between matches too so don't leave it out completely~
>>

Thanks for running.

You can't please everybody, but I think you've made the best possible choice. We're all here for Cute Girls Doing CUTE THINGS IN TANKS.

Every other cute thing outside of tanks is not as important.
>>
>>32362318
In the background sounds fine. Well, not literally, as we are unable to see what happens in the background of a scene due to the limitations of the literary medium, but instead figuratively, taking a back-seat to tankery and only showing up for shorter moments, one update at a time. Quite good.

What is our day to day routine.

Cute Girls Doing Cute Things.
>>
>>32362318
This can work. Nobody, after all, watched GuP for the romance.
>>
>>32362381
I'm gonna have to blow your mind here anon, but sadly most of this thread, and indeed the quest, takes place while the characters are not physically within their tanks. A grave tragedy I know.
>>
>>32362318
If things get voted into romantic territory, like somehow we stick around Kitten all day long and SOMETHING comes up, will you let it progress?
>>
>>32362444
If it feels natural enough, perhaps.
>>
>>32362444
>somehow we stick around Kitten all day long
I'd sure hope we wouldn't be forced to basically abandon doing tankery stuff or hang out with the teams just to progress towards romance. Come up naturally, yes, but on our regular schedule or close enough, not taking tons of time out of tankery (which will just either fail outright as people reasonably vote to actually do stuff instead, or make tanking anons mad).
>>
>>32362444

The only way I can see that happening is if we go on a date on a weekend.

And trude being trude will rush with kitten to go help someone if something does pop up.

>Thanks for staying, see you next time. I think I'll keep any romance (if it happens) in the background for now rather than have it distract from the Quest. Hopefully we've come to a good understanding.

People say that "we don't want it distracting from the Quest" but you know what really distracts from the Quest? Leaving the damn thing unresolved. Whatever you say now it's obvious there's going to be more baiting the Kitten-shippers and the Fairless-shippers in the future.

Since it is way too late to not have a yuri-end, at this point I'd say biting the bullet and forcing a choice so the relationship could be put in the background would be far better. That way at least the issue would be settled beyond doubt, ending any further debate between shipping camps and attempts to maneuver choices to favor one potential waifu or another.
>>
>>32362528
That was probably a mistake.
>>
>>32362530

I fail to see the connection since its two different matters.

Perhaps you'd better explain in your own words.
>>
>>32362556

Realistically, Kitten would win. And honestly watch the 3 dance this little dance is fun.
>>
>>32362582
Our day to day is mostly about tankery in some way-teams, tanks fixing and buying, money raising, that sort of thing. Romance doesn't help those (from my own standpoint) and may even distract from tankery.

And tankery will save the school.
>>
>>32362573
Never a mistake to truly dedicated questers, anon!
>>
>>32362636
>Realistically, Kitten would win. And honestly watch the 3 dance this little dance is fun.

Fairless is far more interesting than Kitten, but you're probably right. At least we wouldn't have to have entire threads derailed about whether or not romance will feature, when it is blatantly obvious to anyone watching the threads that there will be romance.

So tankery related activities.

Perhaps you should tone down the hyperbole next time you make a blanket statement then. You'd notice we only took issue with the 'in a tank'.
